The Big Shot with Bethenny (2021–…): Season 1, Episode 3 - The Only Rules Are My Rules - full transcript

Bethenny confronts a source of drama and gets ready for a difficult elimination--but struggles to showcase her trademark decisiveness. Just as the final four candidates get comfortable, they face an unnerving curveball.

- She's going.

It's happening today.
- Yeah.

- I need a tissue.
All right, BRB.

- She's too big for the game.

She's going. She's going.
- Yeah. She's thinks she's--

- I can't do anything right.

- This is supposed to be
a professional environment.

Ironically, this project
is about time management,

and Nicole
is wasting everyone's time.

- I don't know if you'll be
in the first shot

'cause I have a look planned
with their outerwear on.

- Nicole is gossiping
with the models,

her coworkers.

She is a distraction,

and it's sort of dragging
me down.

- The cameras are not here
anymore.

I need to know what's up.

They're gone.

- They're gonna come back
in five seconds, though.

- Not yet,
but I'm sure she will.

No, no, no.

But if you're already
thinking that,

that's how you're gonna
continue this competition.

- Back on the Nicole Network,

Nicole breaks down
at a photo shoot.

The whole shoot is focused
on this person.

- Okay, catch your breath.
All right?

I need to you realize,
this job...

- But don't think that.

What you're putting out is
what you're, like, asking for.

Nicole is being a bit extra,

but I think she wants
to continue proving herself.

She wants to fight, and she's
fighting at this point.

She doesn't want to go
anywhere.

Just sit back and observe.
- Not talk.

- I get you have
a lot of energy,

and a lot of people
don't understand that energy.

- You're right.

- They don't know
what to do with it.

- You're totally right.
- So observe.

- You're right.
- Fall back.

- That's actually great advice.
Thank you.

- Okay? Happy face.
You did great.

- I need to powder my nose.
- Okay. Go.

- Thank you. That was sweet.
I appreciate that.

- No worries. No worries.
- Thank you for getting rid

of the camera.
- Of course.

- Bethenny and I had
some drama,

and I know that I'm not
everybody's cup of tea,

but I want to be here,

and I really am here
for the right reasons,

and I hope she realizes
that I've been giving

every single task 100%.

I just want to be here
and do my job.

You guys see.
I come in ready for work.

You know what I mean?

Anyway, I need to stop
getting emotional.

I think I'm getting my period.

Do you know
when your boobs hurt,

and then you're like, "Shit."

- So Nicole was just being
kind of loud,

kind of pushy, being Nicole.

It pretty much seemed
like she tried

to just take over
the whole set,

and that pretty much
pissed off Bethenny.

She was real keen on time.

She told me that time is money
and manage it really well.

So, honestly,

I'm a little nervous
about this last photo shoot.

You know, this is my time.

- I mean, I've dealt
with negativity, right?

That's part of, like, being
kind of a public figure, right?

- Yeah.
- It's normal. I just...

I like her and have
a lot of respect for her,

and this just isn't going
the way I would've liked,

but that's okay.

Not everything goes
my way every time.

- But it's feedback, Nicole.
- I am a more casual working

style than other people,
and I know that

that doesn't always rub
everybody the right way,

and, quite frankly,
that's probably why--

- I wouldn't call
yourself casual.

- I work for myself.

- I would call
your style "high energy."

- I'm quirky.
I'm fucking weird, okay?

- Yeah, the girls are all
in the bedroom.

- I'm proud of myself.
I didn't blow up the house.

- You're, like,
doing pillow fights.

- I didn't blow it up.

- I'm just gonna pipe down.

Let her do her thing.
Let my work speak for itself.

And we'll see
if the air clears.

- Yeah.
- Right?

- You know, it's kind of
just like, time will tell.

- I agree.

- The problem is...

- Eh...
- No?

- No.

I love how we're both like,
"Uh, yeah, no."

Okay.

All right, well, then it's not.

I can't let Nicole derail
this entire thing.

Nicole is certainly not the
only one here, and it's better

to focus on the people
who aren't causing drama.

Now we're doing a pajama party.
All right. I'm here. Okay?

- Good. So it's just like
a pillow fight.

- We're having a pillow
fight, okay.

- You want to do, like,
slow motion, so they could...

So the camera guy
can catch, like...

- You're not into us pummeling
each other with the pillows?

- Yes, yes, so just have fun.

- Okay, great.

Yes, I do.

Where? Okay.

- You guys hate each other!
- We hate each other.

Okay, so we should be angry.
- Not hate.

My vision
is a real lounge-y look.

I want them to feel relaxed,
at home.

It's Friday night.

We're at home, having fun,
talking about guys.

I feel like this is something
that's down my lane

as far as marketing a product
and a photo shoot,

'cause I'm an event planner,

and this is what I do
on a daily basis.

You're about to--
Just like you're--Yeah.

- Oh, okay.

- Like, with the motions,
like, high up, yes.

- So this doesn't make
any sense now.

- The...

So, Bethenny, you don't
even know that they're...

You know what I mean?

- Correy, I don't understand
what you're talking about

because I have never been
in shapewear on a dirty couch

hitting people with pillows,
so I don't know.

He's drowning.

- Kind of like almost like
you're chasing each other.

You know what I mean?

- I don't know what men think
that women do

at sleepover parties,
but we're now in Candyland.

- Get in the motion, like,
you know what I mean?

- Let's do
"Ring Around the Rosie."

And then we're going to pin
the tail on the donkey

and bob for apples,

and we're gonna do
all that stuff, okay?

I don't know.

I got it. All right.
- I like what you just did,

where you pointed at her.
- Oh, okay.

Can you kind of, like, just...
- That worked?

Okay, I was in character.

- Well, when you were talking
to her, you kind of pointed.

- That was Method acting.
- Yes.

- Okay.
- Yeah. I like that.

- We don't see faces, Correy.

- No, it don't manner because
we got a lot of different ones.

- You don't want to
see their faces?

- Uh...
yeah, we could.

- I don't understand.
What are we doing?

What's happening?

- So I have one more look
that I want to do, right?

- Oh.

Remember not to put that
on your body after, please.

A blanket on the floor--

I mean, literally, I'm gonna
need therapy for a long time

because that blanket
is gonna be

on someone's body
at some point.

- Can we all do, like,

the "I'm looking
into the air" smile?

Like, you're not really
looking at the camera,

but, you know...
- Oh.

- Are you guys comfortable
with laying on this?

- After you just put it
on the floor?

No.

- No, we're not comfortable
with that.

- Are you guys all comfortable
being topless

but, like, covering it?

- Topless?

- Yeah.

- I don't think
we should be topless.

- You don't think so?
All right.

- No.
- So...

- I'm thinking I'll take no
for 200, Correy.

Do you want to be bottomless?
- Who, me?

- You can be bottomless.
- I can be--

- Yeah, and then
we'll just be topless.

I mean, that'll be good.

That's for a whole different
commercial.

I understand
that you're interested

in a tasteful nude today,

but I'm just thinking maybe we
should go with the shapewear on

since we're marketing
shapewear and not my ta-tas.

Would you guys have gone
topless with your hands on top?

Or would you have, like,
drawn the line there?

- Well, he was saying
a pillow originally

- Right, but would you have
just still felt

like it wasn't enough?

- I thought it wasn't
for the brand.

You're trying to sell
the lingerie, not take it off.

- Right. Okay.
- Thank you.

- How much time
do we have left for the shoot?

- 12 minutes for mine, yeah.
- Okay.

So he said, "Would you guys
feel comfortable going topless

"but covering with,

I guess, your hands
or a pillow?" And I go...

- I'm gonna draw the line
right there.

- No.

- If I said to him,
"I would like to fuck a koala,

"he would've been like,

'Oh, my God.
That's a great idea.'"

Is he looking?
Is he looking?

- Koala on set.
- Is he looking?

He went from...

He went to the basement
real fast.

Like, we're good.

I think we got it.

You finish your shoot.
I have another thing.

You finish your shoot.
No, keep going with the girls.

- Bethenny?
- Yeah?

- Did you want
to do a group shot?

- I think you should.
- Okay.

- With all the models,
don't you think?

- Then you direct it.

Go ahead.
You can take charge.

- Let's, like, get everybody up
there and do one group shot.

- Do it fast.
- Okay.

- Was that your idea?
- Yes.

- That was your idea?

Oh, well, you should come
and say it

for yourself next time--
don't make your model do it.

You say it, so take charge
of the situation.

- Okay,
it was my idea. Let's do it.

- Okay, go own your idea.

Jenna really shined today.

She understood the audience,

the brand
and the management of the time.

She had an idea
for all the models.

Brilliant.

- That is close to Benetton.
- How great.

- Oh, my God.
That's a good idea.

- That was a great idea.
- Shit.

- Credit seekers
don't get credit,

and I love that she wasn't
looking for the credit.

- Nope.
- The truth is, I like that.

- All right. Let's, like,
a lot of action.

So cute.
- Get in tight.

- Perfect.
- I think you totally got it.

- Okay.
- So fun.

- Thank you all so much.
- Good job.

- Find some nice pieces
that you like.

Awesome. Good job.
Nice finale. Good job.

Which is great, great, great.
- Thank you.

- I think I'm impressing
Bethenny with this project.

I say it over and over again
in this process,

but because I've been
every size in the clothes line,

from extra small to size 24,

I wanted them
to feel comfortable,

so I feel like
I have this in the bag.

- This has been one
of the least fun days

I've had in a while.

I'm totally fine.
- But listen...

- I'm gonna go home
tonight, clearly,

because she hates me.
- Don't say that.

- Don't be negative.

- I'm just honest.
- No, no.

- You're getting feedback.

- You have
a strong personality, right?

- Yes.
- I think in this environment,

there's so many things
going on.

- You're right.
- And I think it puts everyone

on edge, at least for me--
I'm like, "Okay"...

- But you guys know
that I'm well-intentioned.

- Yeah, no.
- Like, I help everybody.

Like, anybody needs something,
Correy needs my pillows,

Correy takes my idea again...
- Yeah.

- I'm like, "Do it.
I don't care."

- Sometimes it feels
like it's way too much.

Like, you're trying too hard.

Nicole has no filter.

Nicole tends to just say

things that come
out of her mouth, like, blegh.

But I don't think

that it's going to be
a good fit for Bethenny.

I'm gonna be honest
with you.

I just get annoyed
a little bit.

Like, I don't have
a lot of patience,

so don't take it personal--
it's just--

I'm gonna try to stay away
and, like, do my own thing.

As a woman, I just want
to tell it to your face

'cause I don't want you

to think things are
going behind your back.

- I'm not really here
to have problems with people.

I'm not here
to make best friends,

but I'm not here to have drama.

- Feel out the room.
Feel out the energy.

- You're 100% right.
- Okay?

She means well.
Nicole means well.

You just need to know
how to understand.

Listen, in business, you have
to deal with different egos.

- Well, thanks
for your honesty.

- Give me ten seconds.
Just put the robe up.

I'm gonna go talk to Nicole,
and then I am gonna leave.

I'm going to make it
an early thing.

I don't like to let things sit.

I'm an addresser.
I'm a confronter.

- Everybody knows
I'm working hard.

If you don't like the way
I do everything, that's fine.

Give me some
constructive feedback,

but if she doesn't want me
here, she'll send me home.

- She's right behind you,
just letting you know.

- We did a great job, though.
Thank you so much.

- Can we talk for a sec?
- Sure.

- Okay. Great.

There are no rules.

This application process
was literally conceived

and designed by me.

So I could let two people go,
four people go,

fire everybody,
hire everybody.

I can do whatever I want,
and, certainly, I don't need

the dead weight of people
that are acting like this.

Okay. Okay.

I can't deal
with all this garbage.

- I am fucking exhausted.
Let's be honest.

I had expended so much energy
in that shoot,

and, typically,
I'm kind of that person

that glides by
with straight A's.

I'm just kind of hoping
that this is a fluke

and she doesn't actually
hate me

because I just really,
really want this job.

- So I don't appreciate
being talked about

on my set to other people.

I don't do disruptions.
I don't do wasting time.

I'm now spending my time here

because you are being
disruptive,

so that cannot happen.

This is not only about you.

- Totally agree 100%,

and I will not let
that happen again,

and I don't want
any drama with you.

I'm here 'cause
I really respect you.

- So why are you crying?
- I'm just...

I'm upset that, you know,
things are working out

between us the way
that they are.

I came here. I dropped
everything to be here.

I mean, just, you know,
put everything, work aside,

Instagram, podcast, campaigns.

I'm a little nervous
that you...

have this picture
of me in your head

that's different
than who I really am.

- Do you think
it's a great idea

to say to somebody you want
a job from,

"I dropped everything
to be here"?

Do you think that's a good
choice, a good judgment call?

Do you think that
I would ever have dreamed

of saying to Martha Stewart,

"I dropped everything
to be here"?

But do you know that
I would've died to be there?

I would've stayed there
for six months,

but that's a choice to say,

"I dropped everything
to be here."

- I think there's been
a few misconceptions.

I'm all about business.

I work in--you know,
I've worked in nightlife.

I've done 500 events.

- Okay.

- I would've loved to have you
in a shot, but...

- Yes. Just a note--
the whole thing today

was about time being valuable,

and you came and just
sort of gave me shapewear,

and then you said to me
that someone else--

You go, 'They're gonna go
first, and then you go."

So that would never happen.

Like, I'm ready.
My time is valuable.

So that was a miss for sure.

- I understand.
- Okay. Thank you.

- You look really cute,
by the way.

- Thank you so much.

Where is everybody?

- I could use a break.

- Turns out I'm not
a great firer.

Cooler minds prevail.

It's not professional
to let someone go

at a photo shoot
in front of all these people.

I'm a public person, and my
reputation is important to me,

and I don't want any more drama
at this photo shoot.

Okay, everybody, I just wanted
to say a little farewell.

The next time
I see you will be at your loft,

and you'll each have your photo
for me to review.

- Honestly, I have no idea
what's gonna happen,

but it was never my intention
for this to go so poorly.

I wasn't trying to hurt
her feelings or sabotage her

in any way, shape, or form,

and I was hurt and upset
that she was so mad at me.

- Thank you all so much
for your hard work.

- Thank you, Bethenny.
both: Thank you.

I'll talk to you later.

Correy, will you come
outside with me?

- Yes.
- Good job, guys. Good job.

- So how did it go
for you today?

- I think it went good,
a little--

A couple things were unexpected
as far as you coming in,

so we had to switch timing

and make sure everybody
got enough time with you.

So that was kind of,
like, a curveball,

but I think we made it work.

- Okay.
- I think we made it work.

- You were a little bit
stunned, and, you know,

you have such
a lovely personality

that it's hard
to be mad at you.

You have good composure,
and, I mean,

the job is to make sure
that everything I need I have,

because I'm nonstop working.
- Right.

- And so those little things
will be a time suck.

- Okay.
- So you were not on the time.

You should've known that
when she missed her opportunity

to be with me that I was just
sort of sitting around.

You should've known--
"Wait. Where's Bethenny?

She's not there,
so where is she?"

But you weren't looking
at the whole board.

And, remember, it's about time.
Time is money.

- Right.
- So, for me,

I could've been out of here an
hour and a half ago, you know?

One of the things
Jenna did right was she saw me.

It didn't matter the order.

She said, "You're ready?
I got you. Let's go."

And then she let me go to give
the rest of you more time.

That was, like,
a good team-player thing.

- All right. All right.
- That is the game, okay?

The whole thing, all right?
- Okay.

- Correy shit the bed.

Nicole wore a crop top,
created drama on the side,

dismissed me and acted like
I was the fucking hired help.

So this is a Sophie's Choice.

Who's going home?
I don't know.

What did you think?
- Oh, my God.

When Jenna said,
"Everyone in together,"

it was fucking genius,
and no one else thought of it.

- It was, like, a good finish.
- Yeah. Yeah.

- It was very camaraderie,
and by the way,

we do do that a lot
in photo shoots,

and the girls
always want it,

and I'm not always able
to think of the big picture.

That's very big picture.
- And it looked so good.

- She crushed it.
- Yeah. It was cute.

- That was,
like, the icing on the cake.

- Also, she's a good spirit
to be around.

This is gonna be interesting.
- Yeah.

- I have no idea.
I got to process it

because I love Correy,

but his thing was shit.

- Right.
- Right.

- It's gonna be
an interesting one.

- Have a nice evening.
- Bye. Thank you.

- You're welcome. Thank you.
- Thank you.

- Thanks, everybody!

- What did she say?
- Just be a little bit

more mindful
of her and the whole...

Like, I was kind of trying
to manage everybody,

but she said to try

and be a little bit
more mindful of her, you know?

- Okay. Yeah, I get it.
- In her head, it's like,

she wanted me
to manage her and the team.

- Got ya.
- So I was just--

I guess, miscommunication.

- Yeah.
- Do you think you're gonna

have a hard time
picking your picture?

- Yeah. It's a little
nerve-racking right now.

I feel like the microscope

is just on us to do
everything the right way

and everything
the way she wants it.

- You have nothing to be
worried about.

I'm just gonna take
the brunt of it for everybody.

No, you can't do that.

We're all in this together.
- I don't know. I don't know.

- We'll see.

- Another day.
- Another day.

- We have lunch, guys.
- Yay!

- Thank you.

- Would you mind handing me
my glasses over there?

Sorry.
Can you reach it?

- Do you need them to eat?

- No, but I'm going to put them
right here.

- I'm joking.

- Everybody felt like
they did a good job.

Like, nobody feels
like they're going home?

- I'm happy with everything.

Like, I just felt like
I was in my zone.

- I think the one thing
that we all know for sure

about this job interview

is that
there is always a curveball.

- Always a curveball.
- Always a curveball.

- There are some people
that I think could work for me.

I don't know.

I'm not sure exactly
in what capacity

and what their skill set is,

because it's not
just about a skill set.

Effectively, the job
is supporting me.

They have to be in my house
with my daughter.

You have to travel with them.

It's like being
in a relationship.

People think I'm rogue
and relaxed

because
I get away with cursing,

but the truth of the matter
is, I'm a serious person,

and I value traditional,
old-school hard work.

I promise you,
it's not a party.

- I think what we could've done
better would've been

to gather the group
and, like, regroup ourselves

and say,
"Okay, Wendy was first."

- Let me give you
my perspective on that.

So Bethenny walks in.

We don't know
she's coming, right?

- Right. We don't know.
- And so my models are done.

And I'm ready, and she's
waiting for somebody to come,

and she's looking
at everybody like,

"What the fuck is going on?"

- Yeah.
- So I walk back up to her,

and I'm like,
"Do you want to get dressed?"

- Jenna took charge.

- To be honest,
I am pissed off

that things weren't managed
the way they should've been.

- I mean, you did the right
thing in a sense

because I didn't take charge
of it like that,

and she refused
to get in my shoot.

So I'm at a disadvantage.

She is the brand,
and she, you know,

wants to be
a part of the shoot.

That's why
she showed up, right?

- I don't think Nicole
is prepared

for what Bethenny
is looking for.

Bethenny doesn't
like the drama,

and she keeps saying
that the drama needs to stop,

so maybe Nicole is going home
because of that.

- I don't think we had
to pick a photo with her in it.

- Well, did you pick a photo
with her in it?

- You'll see.
all: Oh!

- Of course
you would say that.

- You'll see.

- So the photo is
about the details.

The project was
about time management.

You know, Jenna seems
like an "aw, shucks,"

Middle America Skinnygirl fan,

but I will say, there is nobody
stronger than a housewife

and a mom managing it all.

Milokssy is a force
and a silent assassin.

Never had a speeding ticket,
I'm sure,

but hasn't taken
any chances yet.

Wendy, she is a hustler,
and Correy, he's sweet,

and I love being around him,

but he's in a room
full of barracudas now,

and he might just melt
like the witch

in "The Wizard of Oz."

I'm melting!

Last but not least,

Nicole is a fucking pain
in my dick.

She's got a spice
and a desire.

She fucking wants it,

but she'll just crumble,
or she'll fly.

The person who's going to end
up going all the way with me

is someone who is a killer,
a natural-born killer.

So let's see.

- Y'all feel that?

- Thank you.

Let's get a picture of me
on the street.

All right.

Okay.

I don't know that I'm cut out
for letting people go

that are nice and sweet,

and I'm worried that I'm not
going to be able to do this.

It's like a little bit
of a vampire outfit.

Am I a vampire?

- I think we've all learned
that Bethenny is a wild card.

So I just have no clue
what to expect.

- Hey, everybody.
- Hey!

- Hello.
- How's everything?

- Living the dream.
Let's do this.

- I know that this is
reckoning day for me.

You look beautiful.
- Thank you.

- I really hope Nicole
can be sent home

because she seems
not to understand, like,

it's not about what
you've done in the past.

In this competition,

the only thing that matters
are the results.

- How was the experience?

- It was a good amount
of stress, but I liked it.

Good stress.

I could've catered to you
a little bit more,

but I feel, overall,
I did a good job.

- I want the people that
I think can really do this job

to get on the road quickly.

I don't drag things out.

If I don't like somebody

or I just don't think
they've got it,

I'm not keeping them here.

I don't have any time to waste.

So I thought that it was
overall a, you know, pleasure.

But you did stretch the time.

I could've gotten
out of there earlier

if certain things
were different.

Many people that you work for,
they're in finance.

They're in fashion.
They're in food, philanthropy.

This is all of those things
in one.

So that's why time
is so valuable.

Also, the job is to support me.

But that was an epic fail
across the board--

just to not check in on me,
you know, how was I doing?

I didn't have anything
to eat all day.

Wendy is the only person
who offered me a sip of water.

And also,
it's not the Nicole show.

I find you to be a lot,

and I feel that you're here
to, like, get attention.

As a person, whether you work
with me or not,

you need to understand
that it's not all about you.

You're here applying
for this job,

so you're not running
the world, okay?

Understand that this whole
thing we're doing

is about the brand.

The product is the star.

So let's see your photo shoots.

Let's see your campaign.

Okay. Who's is this?
- Mine.

- Correy, tell me
why you chose this.

- I just wanted it to show
that comfort can be sexy.

- Let's first just talk
about creative choice.

You had us doing
a pillow fight.

You could see I was like,
"What are we doing?

What does he have us doing?
This is weird."

It felt awkward,
but it wasn't as awkward

as you walking up to us
and saying to me and models,

"How do you feel about doing
a couple of topless photos?"

- Stop it!

- I was going for more,
like, an artistic kind of look.

- Right. I understand it was
a creative choice,

but that was too risky.

Also, I don't know
what we're selling.

I don't know
what she's wearing,

because
that could be any T-shirt.

It could be a black bathing
suit--the girl in the front.

The popcorn is marketed,

but we are not selling
shapewear in this post.

Let's see what we have next.

Wendy.

- I want the consumer to know
shapewear is not just

for women,
you know, above 30, 40.

Like, it doesn't matter
what age you are.

Shapewear can also be
for a young woman, you know?

So that's why I decided
to have both of you in it

because it's for every woman,

regardless of the age,
regardless of the body type.

So I wanted to really encompass
that in that picture.

- And you don't have to be
curvy to wear shapewear, too.

That's interesting,
because a lot of thin women

on the red carpet
wear it just to smooth out.

That's a very interesting--

I wouldn't have even
thought of that.

That's a very interesting take.

It's not a brand
for large women.

It's a brand for all women.
- Yeah.

- This could be
a real modeling campaign.

You asked me if I wanted water.

I could actually see you
doing this job.

But when I got there,

the first thing I said to you
is, "How are you?"

You said, "Stressed as fuck."

And then later,
I said something,

and you said something about,
like, sweating your balls off.

I cannot express to you
how unprofessional that is.

You are interviewing for a job.

I was literally taken aback
by that, so that's not great.

- Nicole, let's hear about it.
- Comfort breeds confidence.

And so I thought
that if I could put the girls

in an outfit they genuinely
loved, they would shine.

- It's got the spirit
of the brand.

I like that I walked in

and I saw models
wearing the jacket.

Nobody else used
the product really.

- The jacket and the jeans?
- Did you?

- Yeah.
- You did?

- For one of my looks.
- Okay.

Well, I like the choice
that you also had the thought

that you would use three
people--the more, the merrier.

So I like that
whole thought process. I do.

- Then you went back
to the photo shoot.

You pulled it together.

I'm sure you had lambs
screaming inside your head,

but you did.

The show must go on,
and it did.

You went and rocked it anyway,

which was really grace
under pressure.

So I thought
that was very valiant.

I thought that was
extremely admirable, and...

- Thank you.
- I like that.

But your bedside manner
was terrible.

You literally blew me off.

I went to the makeup room
and thought, "All right. Okay."

And then you came in,
and this is what you did.

"Here, if you want to put these
on, you can put these on."

You're not humble.

You want to everybody to know
how you know everything.

I'm not here to beat you up,
but you need to be checked.

I didn't know I was going
to be a cocktail maven.

I didn't think
that I'd ever be here.

I was broke. I was in
my apartment alone in my 30s,

and I had no idea
what was gonna happen to me.

I had no idea.
I didn't have a daughter.

I didn't have a husband.

I fought it myself,
but I didn't do that

by being like,
"I know everything.

I've done this. I've done that.
I did that. I'm this."

Nobody wants to hear about it.
Nobody is interested.

Let people have
their own experience.

This is a real opportunity
for some people.

I don't know
anyone's financial situation.

If they're like me,
they're hungry.

I was 37.
I had no money.

I had no family and no parents
and nothing, so I was hungry.

So you need to back it up.
Do you understand?

- Yes, I do.

It was not my intention.

I didn't manage
the schedule properly,

but I wanted to give you
a good final picture

and just try
my best to recover.

I really look up to Bethenny.

She's a nontraditional
entrepreneur.

I'm a nontraditional
entrepreneur.

- Okay.
Let's go on to the next one.

- So, Jenna, this reflects
the spirit of the brand

because it's not perfect.

The one girl's breast
is lower than the other.

That is real. I love it.
Ponytail--I just like--

And it was not even a plan.

- I wanted you to match
my models, for sure.

- I'm complimenting you,
so don't interrupt me.

- Okay. Sorry.
- You said, you know,

"We'll get a picture
with me and the girls."

- Before and after
you were dressed.

- Which is valuable to me.

One of your models came up

and said,
"Can we get a group shot?"

- I actually asked them, so
I said, "Stay in your stuff."

- You keep interrupting me,
and I don't think

that's a great idea.
- Oh, I'm so sorry.

- She picked a direction.
She was done quickly.

- I wanted to give everybody
enough time

to have their shot with you.

- Seriously, you might need
a time-out.

- Okay.
- Okay?

I'm literally in the middle

of your most-valuable-player
speech or your obituary.

I'm not sure.
- Okay. Sorry.

- Are you nervous?
- Well, I am now.

Shit.

I'm good.
- Okay. All right.

Milokssy.
- I didn't want to use props.

I want the consumer
to just look at the shapewear

and not anything else.
- I agree.

You don't have to have,
you know, bells and whistles

and leaning towers of Pisa
in your picture.

This looks like a rich person

who just got back
from Pilates class.

"Fuck you.

This is me looking hot
in a bathing suit."

Do you know what I mean?

- I see confidence.
- I see confidence, too.

And also, I like simplicity.

It's just that you got
to take some risks.

The most incredible things that
I've ever done and accomplished

in my life have been
because of something daring.

When you jump, you fly.

- The only reason
I'm playing it safe

is because
I'm representing you.

If it's my brand,
we're gonna go crazy.

- That's a great note.

I'm not looking for anybody to
make any wild and fast moves.

- On your behalf.
- That's true.

- Now is the moment of truth.
- Ay, yi, yi.

- Even though Wendy's picture
is my favorite photo

just from
an artistic standpoint,

Jenna, you managed
your time well.

You shared.
You were a team player.

You gave everybody else
part of your time.

And since it was a timed
project, you crushed the shoot.

Also, your photo is the brand.

You did the best
on this project.

- Thank you.
Thank you so much. It was fun.

It was, like, my wheelhouse,

probably 'cause I've been
every size

and I want people to know
that they can feel good

in every size, so I loved it.

- The three of you can just
go back and live your lives.

all: Thank you.
- Good job.

- Good luck, you guys.
both: Thank you.

- This is really challenging.
I don't like this part at all.

Correy, you were supposed
to manage the time.

You weren't aware
of where I was.

I sat eating chips

for 30 minutes
in the dressing room.

So you needed to understand
that that's my time.

Time was the whole thing.
My time is valuable.

I felt that you were tentative,
and you were trying to, like,

ask me what I wanted and ask
everybody what they wanted.

By the way, Correy should've
shut down this disruptiveness.

Correy's worried about what
everyone thinks

and very tentative,

and that is the opposite
of what this job is.

So the problem is,
Correy sort of waffled.

Nicole is overly dramatic,

so I'm not sure
if I'm more scared

by somebody
who can't manage a timeline

or someone who's dramatic
and can be a loose cannon,

but she has a skill set
that I value.

It's great that you're nice,
but you got to lay it down.

- I honestly do know
what you're talking about.

I was trying
to please everybody

and see where everybody
was coming from,

but me, the thing is,
I'm never gonna give up.

I'm gonna take
all the constructive criticism

and do better the next time.

- Okay. What do you have
to say about this?

- Well, I think
Correy is great,

so this sucks 'cause
I wouldn't want him to go home.

I don't want to go home.

Whatever happens in this
situation, I'm cool with it

because I care about you, too.

- Thank you. Thank you.
- You know? So...

- I honestly--this is not--
no bullshit.

I'm conflicted.

I'm genuinely conflicted,
but I have to make a decision.

Okay. I need a minute.

Don't, you know, stress out.
It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Just give me a minute.
I need a minute to myself.

I'm never at a loss for words,

and I have literally made
a career

out of being decisive
in the moment,

knowing what to do, but...

I'm not exactly sure
what to do.

- It's funny 'cause I never
thought I would, like,

sit here with somebody

and actually want them
to stay, too.

- Right. Exactly.
- You know what I mean?

'Cause I'm competitive.

- We're both good
at what we do.

- Yep.

- Hey, peanut.

Can I talk to you
about something?

I have a dilemma.

Eliminating people is harder
than I thought,

and trusting your gut
is so valuable,

but also, I love my daughter,
and I love my career,

and so I value her position
and her judgment.

There's one girl here,

and she wants it
really, really bad.

You can tell, but she's
very, like, sassy,

and she thinks
she knows everything,

and then the other guy--
and he's not, like, as tough

as everybody that we work with,
like they need to be,

but he's super,
like, sweet and gentle.

You would love him.
What do you think?

- It's a tough decision for her
to make, though.

- At least
it wasn't easy, right?

- Yeah.

- It would be worse if was
sitting there and just like...

- All right.
"You, just go home," yeah.

- You're saying it's too early
to tell.

I think it's too early
to tell, too.

- Psst! Guys, stay strong.
- We're thinking about you.

- I'm sending you guys
positive vibes.

- Thank you, thank you,
thank you.

- Second chance.
We all deserve a second chance.

- All right, let's go.

Okay.
How are you both doing?

- Doing good. Doing good.
Little nervous, but...

- You okay?
- Yeah.

- This is really,
really not easy.

Correy... I don't think
you have what it takes

to run my whole operation and
keep everything under control.

- Wow.

- I worry that you don't got
that killer instinct.

You're in a room full of
barracudas here in this loft,

and I worry
that you can't, like,

just take charge
of the situation.

- So I've made a decision,
and, Correy...

I want you around,

so you have a choice to make.

You can leave here
and go back to your business,

or you right now can come work
as a personal assistant,

but you will not have
that high-level job.

Oh, my God.

- Nicole did herself
a real favor

by not telling me
to let Correy go,

and she kind of showed
a little bit of loyalty

by saying, "I don't want
to say anything about Correy.

I think he's great."

So that said a lot
about Correy,

and that said
a lot about Nicole.

- If I were you, I would
probably take the job

with her internal team
and learn more,

prove yourself and work up.

I think that you will get
more responsibility.

I have faith in you.

- Take it.
- Wendy and Jenna think...

- Yeah, take it!
- Take it?

- Yes! Work your way up.
Prove yourself.

- I'm always looking
for great people.

Right now Correy
is not seasoned enough

to hold a high position
in this company,

but the learning experience
here is unparalleled,

so it's a great place
to get your foot in the door.

- The thing I learned
about life is that you have

to start somewhere
to get somewhere.

So, as long as I have
a foot in the door,

it's better than not having
a foot in the door,

so I appreciate that.
- Love that.

- Welcome to the team.

- Thank you, thank you.
- You're on this side now.

Just like that,
I'm taking him home with me

to be my assistant.

Why? 'Cause I fucking can.

Grab my stuff,
if you don't mind.

- It starts now.

- I looked him in the face,
went with my gut, and said,

"I'm not ready
to let you go yet."

And Nicole lives
to see another day.

We will see you soon.
Good luck.

- Thank you for giving me
one more chance.

- No problem.
- I won't let you down.

- I told you she wasn't
leaving.

- Now we can continue
checking Nicole.

- I don't have time for that.

- Are you surprised
to see this face?

- No. No.
- Not at all.

- I am completely shocked
and humbled

that she chose me to stay.

Like, took me down ten notches
and then kept me,

and I am so grateful
to have the opportunity

to continue
on this job interview.

- Congratulations.
- Thank you.

- Congrats.
- Thanks. I appreciate that.

- High five.
- Thanks, guys.

You're so positive.

- What a day.
This is it.

Only four of us are left.

I feel very confident and just
relieved that there was

a happy ending
for everybody.

- I think I need to make
a change.

The stakes are too high
for this position

for me to leave
any stone unturned.

- Hello.
- Krystin.

- Hi, Bethenny.
- How are you?

- Good. How are you?
- You look great. Have a seat.

- Thank you. You do, too.

- So, basically, I'm looking
for someone to run the show.

I'm not looking
for a Harvard MBA.

I'm interested in someone
who can manage other people,

can execute, can delegate,

and who can be part of a team.

- Awesome, and that's who I am,
and I just execute.

That's what I do, and I've done
that my entire career.

- Is there a challenge
right now?

- There's something coming,
I'm sure.

- I hope it's, like,
a fun moment

where we can get
to know her a little more.

- I doubt it.
- Okay.

- Mm-hmm.

- I've worked very closely with
two CEOs of a company before,

building their company.
- Wow.

- About 2 1/2 years ago,
I started my own company.

That's a tech company
for single moms.

I'm a mom. So I have two kids.
- Really?

- And just starting
my own company on my own,

building that from the
ground up, and I also consult.

When I'm told no,
I find a way to be told yes.

- Wow.
- That's how I fill the gap.

I figure out where the hole is
and fill the gap.

- Come on, let's get into it.
- All right.

- Hello?
- Yes, yes.

- Come on down.
Actually, come here with me.

- Okay.

- Okay, the B is back.

So Correy is now working
with me,

and you guys have all done
a great job,

but I've been
a little concerned

as to whether someone can or
can't do this and run the show.

So Krystin is going to be here
jumping in,

and she is also up for the job.

It's going to be interesting.
It's going to be intense.

- For one second,
I was finally comfortable.

I already know the work ethic
of these other girls.

Now I have to, like,
shuffle my cards

and make sure that
I can compete against her.

I can't take a breath.
It's like day one for me.

- This is your loft now.
This is your workspace.

Get to know each other,
and the next time I see you,

it's not going to be pretty.

Expect the unexpected.
all: Thank you.

- Thank you, Bethenny.
- Thank you.

- I'm bringing Krystin in late,

and I don't really
give a good fuck

if you guys started ahead

and she missed half the boat
and it's easier for her.

- Nice to meet you.

- I have to find somebody
to run my business.

This is not a joke.
This is the big game.

And I don't know if the group
here can handle this job,

so I'm bringing
in someone else.

- You can sit at the head
of the table.

- Awesome.
I'm very comfortable here.

- Okay.
Can I get out of here?

The elevator won't come,
and it won't light up.

Do I take the stairs?

I got to get out of here.

I'm gonna, like, die here.
