The Big Shot with Bethenny (2021–…): Season 1, Episode 4 - I Need a Killer - full transcript

Tasked with preparing Bethenny for a televised sales appearance, the contestants brace themselves for an unnerving twist: they'll have to sell the products themselves--on live TV.

- There needs to be a barrier
between me and a problem.

I need a killer.
I need a bad cop.

The person who works for me

has to sometimes be the bitch
so I'm not always the bitch.

I'm thinking about investing

in a dating app company,
by the way.

- I'm available
as a test trial.

- By the way, yeah,
I have to have to actually ask

what the gay--
you're single too, right?

- Why are you saying I'm gay?

- Oh, you have a boyfriend now?
- Mm-hmm.

- Oh yeah,
Sarah's has a boyfriend.

- Since when?
- Well, it's agenda item four.

- Since when?

Did you meet him that day
I picked you up

and you were in
the short shorts in Brooklyn?

- No, that was a Tuesday.
- No, yeah--no, no.

- Where did you meet him?

- A restaurant
in my neighborhood.

- With a--really?
- He's a bar restauranteur.

- How long ago?
- Yeah.

- He owns a restaurant?
- He owns a few.

- A few.
- Oh, excuse me.

My bad, Gisele.
Wow.

All right, so I may invest
in a dating company,

and you may not want
to be part of it.

Um, there's good news
and there's crazy news, maybe.

- Okay.
- Seems right.

- Correy, he's so likable

that I could not bring myself
to let him go.

So...

I hired him...

To be a personal assistant
with us.

- Current, like now?
- Yeah.

- Okay.
- You look hesitant.

- A little hesitant,
but, you know...

- But if you--I mean, I trust
your judgment in people.

- I trust your judgment.

- I don't know, let's see.
Who knows?

- I mean, we certainly
need another body.

- All right, well,
I told him to come at 5:00,

and we're done at 5:00--
let's see if he's prompt.

- Great.

- Oh, and also,
I just was nervous

that I maybe not--
didn't have the right person,

so I wanted to bring
someone else into the mix.

And so I did it.
- Oh.

- What can it hurt
to see more people

and have a better sample size
of talent?

It's been years, and I haven't
been able to find this person,

so I'm not gonna settle now.

Krystin is hot and together,

and she probably shook them
because they didn't know.

- Welcome, how are you doing?
- I'm doing amazing.

How are you guys?

- Good, good.
Tell us about yourself.

- I'm a mom.
That's what I am first.

- Amazing.
- I have two kids.

They are 11 and 3.

- Krystin seems cool,
but now it's one more person

that I have to compete with.

- I'm an accountant, so I went
to school for accounting.

- Cool.
- I have a finance background.

About 2 1/2 years ago,
I started my own company.

That's a tech company
for single moms.

I'm super excited to work
with Bethenny,

mainly because she's a mom.

She's a badass woman,
and she's very fierce,

built her business
from the ground up,

something that's
very aspirational to me

and what I'm actually doing
in my own life.

So I thought who better
to learn from

than to learn from her?

I'm risking things coming here.

I'm spending time
away from my kids,

and I'm stepping away
from my own business

because I believe this is
a huge opportunity to grow.

So that's a tough decision
to make to put your company

on pause
and work for someone else,

but I think for this particular
competition with Bethenny,

there's a lot of reward.

So, like,
that's me in a nutshell.

- That's so cool.

- Nicole, I dressed down.

I was basically, "Who the hell
do you think you are?"

And I said like,
"You need to check yourself."

- Good.
- We'll find out now

if she can't
get out of her own way

or this is some sort
of a life change.

- Right.
- The other girl, Wendy,

cursed like a drunken sailor,
so she lost--yeah.

- Just eight fucking points.

- And I told Milokssy
that she sort of coasts.

And I said,
"You gotta take some chances,"

and she said
something so great.

She said, "Maybe I would take
chances with my own brand,

but I wouldn't take it
with yours."

And I was, like...
- Oh, wow.

- Touching myself.
I was dying.

I was like--oh, hi, Correy.
How are you?

- How are you doing?
- Good to see you.

- Good to see you again.
Good to see you again.

- How are you?
Correy, good to see you.

- Hey, how you doing?
Everything is good?

- Come on, that's a suit
and a half.

- Thank you, thank you,
I love it.

- And he's got
his sneakers on too.

Wow.
You dress very well.

- I think Korey and Sarah
might be nervous

because we've just started
this process,

and already I hired someone

that asked me to go topless
in a photo shoot.

So my judgment may seem
slightly impaired to them.

I think it was very courageous
and interesting

that you decided to

take a leap of faith.
- Yes.

- What interested you

in Bethenny's company?

- I really like your hustle.
You remind me of myself, like,

started from nothing
and turned it into something.

And what I didn't know
that you were broke

until 30-something years old

and that touched me
a lot more too.

Because I don't think nobody--
- Late 30s.

- Yeah, like, a lot of people
would have gave up

and, you know,
that inspired me a lot.

Just basically, the hustle.

- Yeah.
- The hustle, yeah.

- So what are you good at?

What is your skill set?
There's no wrong answer.

We wanna actually know what--

- I think creativity.

I'm good at seeing things
when they're not there

and just putting it together.

- Are you good at social media?

- Yes, I am.

It's been a pleasure,
been a real pleasure.

- None of us know
how to do social media.

We despise it.

Sarah wants to put me
in a body bag

and dump me
in the Hudson River.

I don't know how to do
a fucking social media post.

If Correy can do social media,

I will snuggle
with him at night.

So that's just one aspect.
There are so many aspects.

But then there's the grunt
work--dealing with FedEx,

doing gift baskets,
walking my dogs,

helping with the AV,
me coming in this apartment.

I've lived here for two years.
The TV has never worked

two days in a row.
- That's a lot.

- And all of that sort of
happens in one day.

- Yeah?
- All of it.

And then there'll be
a disaster somewhere,

and this got broken,
and the lights don't work,

and the path is gonna
kill somebody

'cause the stones are loose.

- Yes--I'm actually shocked
it's only--yeah.

But I'm willing to learn.
That's the bet.

- You'll never learn more.
You'll never be

on the front lines
of what's really going on.

You will understand
the eyewear industry,

the shapewear industry,
the food industry,

the television industry,
the podcast industry,

the book industry,
the publishing industry,

the e-commerce industry,

the social media industry
with analytics

and things like that--
everything.

- One thing I learned
over the last few years

is that if you don't sacrifice,
you don't succeed.

So I am willing to sacrifice
everything I got going on

right now
to work with Bethenny,

because I know it'll bring
greater opportunities

for me in the future.

How are we gonna separate,
differentiate our names?

- You're gonna go by Steve.

- Okay.

My daughter,
her name's "Correy" too.

So that's three Correys.

- You have a daughter?
- Yes.

- How old?
- 10--11--she's 11 now.

- My daughter's 10.
We could do a play date.

- Yes, whenever.
- Oh, amazing.

- Wow, that's so good
you have a 10-year-old.

Oh, my God,
Bryn's gonna love you.

- That's fantastic.
- All right, cool, all right.

Let's see what's going on.

- I just have two things
for you to sign.

- Brody sent this letter
for you.

- He sent it in the mail?
- I liked him.

Yeah. Handwritten letter.
- Oh, come on.

- Brody, I don't think
it's gonna work.

- I did not have a chance
to prove myself.

- Should I read it to you guys?

- Yeah.
- Obs.

Should we dim the lights?

- "Dear Bethenny,
I wanted to write you a letter

"just to thank you
for the opportunity in itself

"and wholeheartedly respect
your decision.

"That being said,
I wanna tell you

"how big of an inspiration
you have been for me.

"I know you grew up
having to fend for yourself,

"and I grew up very similarly

"where I really helped
raise my sister.

Looking at your..."
are we gonna cry?

- I'm, like, about to.
- Maybe--I already am.

- "Your life has been inspiring

because you are the definition
of self-made..."

Ugh.

"And even getting
a chance to meet you

last night was incredible."

I am not built for this.
I'm not built for this.

"I've worked my ass off.

"Bethenny, I know I have
so much to offer you.

"I'm not sure I'll have a job
when I go back home,

"but none of that matters,
because I believe in you

"and your brand so much,

and I'm hoping to have
another shot in the game."

- I mean, he said
all the right things.

- And the penmanship
is incredible.

- And a handwritten letter.
- I know.

- Maybe I should break

my golden rule
of go with your gut.

Maybe I missed something.
Maybe I was--

maybe my gut was wrong.

- We're waking everybody up.
It's too early.

- Well, I'm up at the ass
crack of dawn every day.

- Okay, so this isn't
even weird for you?

- No, this is not odd at all.

- Bethenny sends us a message
to be at the loft looking good

in all black at 4:00 a.m.

At first, I thought
it was a typo.

And then I was like,
we're robbing a bank.

- Krystin, you're official.
- Oh, I have a name tag.

- You have a name tag!

- Is it a normal thing for us

to be walking here
at 5:00 a.m.?

- This is the first time.
- Yeah, this is the first time.

- We're on the same boat
with you.

We don't know what's going on.
- Good, good, good.

This is my first day,
and it's getting real.

And all I'm thinking about is
like, "Get ready for this.

"You're going in there,
and you have to kill it.

You have no choice."

- How is everybody feeling?

- Tired.

- Tired.
- Overwhelmed.

- For me it's, like,

I have two brain doctors
for parents.

I mean, they really
fucked me up, clearly, but...

But, like, all that I saw
growing up

was doctors and lawyers,

but Bethenny
really helped me see

that there was a way
to build a brand,

to kind of be an entertainer
of sorts like she is,

and I'm just--
I'm grateful for that.

I'm super excited to have
a second shot at this.

I have a renewed faith
that Bethenny and I

may be able to form
a great relationship.

I know that I have
a big personality,

and I know that I need to learn
when to tone it down a notch.

- So with me, like, sure,
I'm gonna be 26,

and I have time
to figure shit out.

But I still have
responsibilities back home,

and I don't want to be
in a position

where I can't take care
of my mom anymore.

- Wendy, Wendy.
You've got this opportunity.

You really don't have
that much to lose.

- I do.
I have a lot to lose.

- Okay, but sweetheart,
in your 20s

is the time
to take all the risk.

And then when you have
a family and you support--

- Yeah, but I actually
support my mom,

like--it's, like, it's not--

- Milokssy is supporting,
like, four people.

- I think Nicole
has a lot of cushion.

I think, you know, like,
if she were to be let go,

like, she has rich parents
that can support her.

I support my mom, and I come
from immigrant parents.

I need to be responsible
with my decisions.

I wanna be able to give
my mom a way to retire.

That drives me.

- I come from corporate.

And it took so much
to get approval to be here.

Everything is on the line.

I either win,
or go back and be unhappy.

- You're unhappy at your job?
- Not my job.

- Right.
- It's just--

- The corporate.
- What I'm doing--correct.

- Gotcha.

- Correct, it's not
what I want to do.

I am currently a chief of staff

for a major magazine
publishing company,

400 people
in our department alone.

So it's 24 hours a day,
seven days a week.

It's different personalities

that I have to deal
with constantly.

So when I say
I have everything on the line,

it's do or die.

And I'm talking about tuition.

I'm talking about mortgage.
I'm talking--

- It's okay.
I totally get it.

- Damn, girl.

- I've been blocked
from a couple opportunities

from unseen
circumstances before,

so my heart really
goes out to...

- It's just scary, it's scary.
- Yeah.

- Because I really want this,

and not only for my children,
but for me.

I've been working so hard all
my life to get to this point.

I never think of myself.

I'm always working hard
for everyone else.

And I'm never happy.

So I finally have
the opportunity

to do something
that's gonna make me happy

and make me feel fulfilled.

And I'm putting it
all on the table.

- Y'all feel that?

- Hi.
- Hi, baby!

- Oh, my God!

- That's Biggie and Smalls.
- Hi.

- Hi.
I just don't want them to pee

and mark their territory,
but we'll see.

Awesome, all right.
So collect yourselves,

because we're gonna talk
about today a little bit.

All right,
so you're all in black

because I'm doing HSN today.

- And my crew wears all black.

Today's two hours.
That's a big hit.

And it's hectic.
The numbers are massive.

I can do $2 million
in six hours.

I mean, it's real.
So for this week's project,

you are all going to prep me
for my TV appearance.

So I have another dossier here
for each of you.

Each of you are going to have
a product to learn,

and you're gonna
brief me on it,

'cause I haven't yet looked
at this yet today.

So I actually don't
even know we're selling.

I need to be prepared
with the intimate details

of what's special
about each product.

That's what really sells.
This is a big deal.

HSN doesn't waste time.

They are moving product,

and every minute
could be millions.

Okay, so Jenna,
since you won last time,

you'll be in charge
of this pamphlet

and the delivery
of the information.

Oh, I have the leashes.

All right, bye, girls.
all: Bye!

- Just get organized,
get your information,

and I'll see you in
a little while--you look great.

- It's time to go to work.
- Let's do this.

All right, should we go
to the table over there?

- Yeah.
- Y'all wanna do that?

- A lot of cute girlies,
you met a lot of cute girlies,

and you met a lot
of cute girlies.

And you met
a lot of cute girlies.

This seems basic and easy,
but what they don't realize is

that they're actually going to
be on live television selling.

They have to represent
the brand themselves

and communicate
with the HSN customer.

This is a think-on-your-feet
project.

This is not
for the faint of heart.

This is live TV.

- "You will each be assigned

"one item of clothing
from my collection.

"It is your job to learn

"the garment inside and out.

"What does the product
mean to you?

"Jenna, because your shapewear
campaign was my favorite,

you get to pick your item
first and assign the rest."

I have worked
with many companies.

I've been the top 3% in sales
my entire working career.

This is my dream job.

And now that
I'm an empty nester,

I think I can
really go for it.

Okay, so I really wanna pick

what I think is
your guys' style, so...

- That is so nice of you.

- So I picked the Skinnygirl

Colorado open cardigan,

just because
it's so fitting for me.

And then the pullover hoodie,

it seems like you, Nicole.

- Aww, thank you.

- Classic jean jacket, Wendy.

- Thank you.

- Boatneck side ruched top

for Milokssy.

- Thank you.

- You're welcome.

- And the straight jean

for you, Krystin.

- You know me, my friend.

- Let's get to work.
- Perfect.

- Awesome.
- Thank you.

- Good luck.

This is like my wheelhouse.
I feel very confident.

I have bought a lot of things
from Bethenny on HSN.

So I, like, love this project.

- Two pockets.

- This being my first product,
I'm really excited.

I'm not too nervous.

I think that coming
in doing HSN,

which I'm very much
so into fashion,

is a perfect kind of entryway
into the competition,

so we're gonna sell
a lot of jeans today.

- So, time's up.
Get your jackets on.

It's gonna be cold again.

- Biggie and Smalls
was my highlight.

- Seriously, it made me
miss my dog so much.

- Come on.

In the office today.

I have a great relationship
with HSN.

It is a partnership.

They would like me to be there

as often as possible.

I used to go in person
to Florida.

And now I built a studio
at my office

and at my house
so I can do it from here.

So tell me again
what I'm wearing first.

Live television is intense.

You know that
every word matters,

and you have to be filling
every second

with something valuable
and takeaway in a way

that the audience
will trust and understand.

It's not easy
to be good at this.

In a little while, Correy,

I'll have you
take the dogs out.

It's called a relief pee

just to make sure
they don't pee inside.

First tree,
they copy each other, pee, pee,

and then they can come back in.

- No problem.
- Okay, so what's next?

Correy two is on a trial
basis as my assistant.

Every detail small and large
is important.

You guys doing hair
and makeup?

Wait a second,
I need a picture.

- Let me just do your
lip liner, come here.

- I'm dying.

You're so cute.

He's the best boy ever.

Smallsie.
Smallsie.

This is unbelievable.

This is good--he has
a social page too, you know.

They have, like,
36,000 followers.

My dogs are famous.

So I'm, like, a stage mom.

I actually have to talk
to a therapist about this.

Is this the cutest thing?

- You guys ready?
- Ready!

- Yay!
- Ready!

- Let's go!

- These people are going
on live television

and have no idea.

Do they have any idea?
- No.

- Not a clue?
- I really don't think so.

I don't think they know
what's going on.

- No, this is mine.
- Mine's not there.

- But I wonder why they didn't
put a black one out.

We definitely need a black one.

- Correy!
- Hey, guys, how you doing?

How are you doing?
- Hey, babe!

- How's it going?
Nice to meet you.

- You smell like a bouquet
of roses.

- So guys, she's gonna see you
one at a time.

Whoever's ready to go first,
you can go.

- Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I can go.

- Come, let's go.
- All right.

- Hey, Bethenny.
- Yes?

- We have Krystin here ready.

- Oh, okay, what is your item?

- I have the Skinnygirl Celeste
Crystal Striped Jeans.

- Okay.

- I want you to talk about
the holiday season,

gathering, things like that.

People are now
maybe venturing out

due to the state of the world.

Play on that, like,
"I wanna look good for once.

"I'm tired of fucking
being in sweatpants.

I wanna look cute.
These jeans are perfect."

- Okay, perfect, thank you.
- Perfect, you good?

- Awesome, awesome.
- You're doing great.

- I can't imagine cursing
in front of someone

you were gonna do
a job interview for.

It's shocking to me.
I'm from another generation.

- I'm back, guys.

- How'd it go?
- It went good.

- Easy? Feedback?
Tips? Intel?

- You know, do your job.
Go in there and do your job.

- Bethenny, we have Jenna next.

- Jenna, okay, hi.

- Hello, hi, how are you?
- Come on in.

- I have the Skinnygirl
Cardigan.

It's great for all shapes
and sizes.

I love this brand.
It's a women empowerment brand,

so it's something that
I'm very passionate about.

I gifted the Waterfall Cardi
to all my girlfriends.

- The Mouj?
- Yes, I love it, it's amazing.

So I'm a cardi girl.
- Same.

- It's fitted tight
to your body,

but when you walk,
it flows open.

So it's really easy, kind of
breezy, and fun to wear.

- Wow, okay, great.

- Thank you so much.
- Great, awesome.

- Good luck!

- I like her.
She's got it.

- This one's a fucking
sleeper hit.

She understands the brand.

Whether she can do
the whole job, I don't know,

but she could be an ambassador.

She can sell for me.

She is this customer.

I continue
to underestimate her.

- Hi, Bethenny, good morning.

I wanna go over
the Skinnygirl Classic Jacket.

- Okay.
- I think the goal

with this product
is just to highlight

the fact that
it's super versatile.

You can wear this jacket
during chilly evenings,

on a fun summer day.

It's like a classic item
you should have in your closet.

- Okay, great, perfect.
- Perfect, thank you.

- These women are made of more
than I thought they were.

- Hi, how are you?

- Good. How are you?
- Good.

- It's all women,
which is crazy.

They are strong stock.

You can tell
they don't wither easily.

Now the game is real.

- So it's a soft jersey
knit feel.

It feels like
your favorite T-shirt.

I love the ruching that comes
together here because it hugs,

and it also kind of hides
if you have any tummy.

- Yes, it does.
It's designed to do that.

Great, that was great.
Wonderful.

- Great, thank you.
- Wonderful.

That was good,
because she got everything.

- You could throw her on
and she could take it.

- I know.

- She gets it.
- She got the brand.

- Are you ready for me?
Hi, how are you?

I almost went home
in last week's project.

So I wanted to really take
what Bethenny told me

into consideration
before showing up here today.

Here's a copy.

It's really important to me

to do better and to learn
from this experience.

So this product
I'm super excited about.

The pullover hoodie--
you're wearing it right now.

It looks incredible on you.

It's the hottest trend
right now in fashion.

This is all the rage.

I think we would talk
about the flare, right?

This is not
your average sweat suit.

It's kind of that
rosé-all-day lifestyle.

This product is going to really
help her live her best life.

You can throw over a blazer.

Drop the kids off at school.
Yoga.

This is gonna become
her best friend.

She probably has old
mix-and-match pieces

from her college days.

This is what she truly needs to
be able to survive and thrive.

I think that's it.

- Got it, good.
Okay, great.

- Oh, so a couple of tips.

I'm happy to stand close

and help you and signal to you.

Show the sleeves
have great detail.

You can push them up.
That's very fashion-forward.

I would really recommend
too that she sized to her bust.

This goes with skirts, right?
That's a big trend.

You can tuck it into your bra.

That's a blogger look right now

that's very hot on Instagram.

Mention with jeans, skirts,

sweatpants with
other sweatpants.

They can mix and match
to elevate that sweat style.

- Perfect, thank you.
- Thank you.

So she had a lot of energy,

but she's passionate
about the brand.

- She's a hustler.
- She's a hustler.

Just be, like, okay,
let's take it down a notch.

- I think I was able
to show her

how committed I really am
and that I really care

about being here
for the right reasons.

- Okay, so retail is very,

very challenging right now,
I'm sure you all know.

You haven't been to a store
probably in a minute.

HSN has millions of viewers.

They're savvy.
They know what they want.

They look to me for fashion.

So I'm going now live
for two hours.

You are all going
to go on HSN with me

in front of millions of people

and sell
the Skinnygirl clothes today.

- How exciting.

- Oh, my God.
What?

Who knew I was actually
gonna be going on HSN myself?

- Wow.

- You will have two minutes
to connect

to this customer,
understand your product,

and be able to work
under pressure.

This job is about never
knowing what's coming next.

So I wish you luck.

- All right, let's do this.

- This job is definitely not

for someone to sell for me.

This is not a hosting
television position,

but you have to be able
to work on the fly.

You have to expect
the unexpected.

You have to be poised.

You have to understand
the brand.

Every minute is millions.

So there's no wasting time.

There's no wasting
this opportunity.

It's a big damn deal.

These girls cannot choke.

- So ten seconds in,
I'll cue you guys

and Milokssy first
at about 10:20.

- Okay.
- Yeah.

- It's 10:00,
so just saying...

I see and hear nothing.

- Okay, we need a tech person.

- Is she connected?
- You guys, I will freak.

This is our worst nightmare.

The day that I decide
to have five people

go on HSN live
with basically no preparation

is the day I can't even
hear the host.

This has never happened before,
never happened before.

- They're still
introducing you.

- I know,
but I don't hear them.

I don't hear her.

I hear nothing.

I'm having a heart attack.

- Someone's gotta fix this,
real fast.

She still can't hear anything.

- We have got to get this
going right now,

because we can't have,
like, this go on today.

This is so important.

I am such a perfectionist
and such a control freak.

I have to sell hundreds

of thousands of dollars
in minutes.

It doesn't matter my dog
ate my homework.

My dog ate my fucking cardigan.

It doesn't make a difference.
You gotta sell.

- That number and we've got
some big specials for you.

- I hear her now.

Can they hear me at HSN?
Can you guys hear me?

- We were having a few problems
with Bethenny's audio,

but we've got you back,
Bethenny.

- Can you hear me?

- I can hear you.

- Hi, sorry about that.
How are you?

- Every pair of pants
that you bring to us

really does have that
sort of special feel...

- And also to say there's
nothing they don't go with.

- And these at their
selling price are so cool.

- Can they hear me right now?

Oh, my God.
I'm so frustrated.

- You will absolutely
fall in love

- Well, can I--
- With the delicious softness

of these sweaters.

- They're saying they're having
a problem with my audio.

- Ay-yi-yi.

- This particular issue
is something

I should not be dealing with.

There are hundreds
of millions of people

that are buying hundreds
of millions of dollars a day,

but yet, can't hear
what she's supposed to sell.

This is why I need this VP.

- They fixed it.
It's working now.

- That was ridiculous.
I'm really frustrated.

- That was so awkward.
- Oh, my God.

She is pissed.

- I want her to be happy.
- Yeah.

- I feel terrible.

- And look how sexy this is.

I mean,
this could be date night,

but you could wear this
during the day

with a pair of jeans.

It's got the sparkle.

I know that your shopper
likes to take some chances,

but still, stay close
to what they know

and have the classics.

- Remember, you have
two minutes.

I'll cue you when to start.
- Okay.

Now it's real.
Now it's setting in.

Now my heart rate
is going through the roof.

There is no room for error
when you're going live.

I'm trying to be cool,
calm, collected.

I need to show Bethenny

I can get the job done,
no matter what the situation.

- And I have a friend here
with me today, Milokssy.

- Hi.
- Hi.

- How are you?

- So what do you think
about this piece?

- I love this piece.

I would definitely
wear this piece

for my holiday family photo.

Why?
Because the color is rich.

It has the metallic sparkle.
It's fun.

And what I love about this,
it's so forgiving

because you have the side
ruche here, right?

So it kind of camouflages

whatever you have
going on here, ladies,

which is great.

- I love that.
- She's crushing it.

- She's doing a great job.

- I want this job.
I need this job.

Because I put a lot
on the line,

so I'm willing to do
whatever it takes to win.

And at today's price,
you have to grab this today.

- Great job.
We'll begin to wrap here.

- Amazing.
Thank you so much, Milokssy.

- Thank you.
- Amazing, it's true.

All the clothes are versatile.

- That was good.
- Thank you.

- Good job.
- Amazing.

- Good job.

- Milokssy went first,

and I thought she did
such a fabulous job.

So I started getting nervous.

- Wait.

Don't talk until
she introduces you.

- Okay.

- Don't be nervous.
Don't be nervous.

- I knew it had to be hard,

but I had no idea how much work

Bethenny puts into this.

She's juggling everything.

She has somebody in her ear,
the tech can go wrong.

- Hi, Jenna.

- Nice to see you.
It looks amazing on you.

I knew she was upset

because of that
tech issue earlier.

I just wanted to change
the mood that she was in.

This is one of my favorite
pieces that you have.

You can dress down a dress

or you can dress up
kind of some jeans.

These are great, and, um...

- And it comes in other colors.

- Yes, it comes
in the Coastal Camel

and also comes in Leopard.

- I think every woman, for the
holidays, this is a super fun,

you know,
get to their personal style.

Holidays are coming,
great gifts.

- Jen is a big HSN customer.
- I am!

- She knows the customer.
She knows the brand.

And she knows
that this is amazing

to tie in
different color shoes.

I'm surprised
that Jenna is choking.

She's nervous.
And she repeated herself a lot.

- So shop for all your fr--
the women in your life.

These are great.

And yeah,
they're such great--great ones.

- Thank you, thank you.
- Thank you.

- Jenna is the customer.

She buys these clothes.
She wears these clothes.

She's teed up for this.
She should have crushed it.

- I absolutely love
these jeans.

- 100%.

- We're ready to get out
of the sweatpants, right?

We're ready to--and they're in
three shades, which is amazing.

The design,
can you just talk to me

a little bit
about what inspired you?

I think it's so smart to have

that forward-facing stripe

where it's, like,
you can see it.

You can show it off.

What was your inspiration
behind that?

- It's true,
the forward-facing stripe

is truthfully
to elongate the leg.

Krystin is good,
but I feel like

she's sort of dumping on me

the responsibility
of what to say,

when I really want them

to come alive and understand
what they're selling.

I cannot say enough
about this price.

It is premium denim.

- It's the perfect gift.

Buy it for all your family
this holiday season,

and really just wear it
with anything.

It's such a great--
- Perfect, thank you so much.

- Awesome.

- Good job, Krystin.

- Oh, boy.

- You'll be fine.
It goes by so fast.

- So you bring us pieces
that are comfortable

and fashionable.
Just take a look.

- They are flattering,
and I have a friend here,

Nicole,
who's gonna talk about it.

- Thank you so much
for having me.

This outfit looks
incredible on you.

I'm so excited to be here
and talk about the hoodie.

The details on this piece
are absolutely stunning.

You can put on a sweater.

You can put on one
of these waterfall cardigans.

You can put on a leather
jacket from Skinnygirl.

- It looks good, yeah,
it's true.

Nicole just hit
the ground running.

- This piece can go with you
from yoga,

your workout,
to cooking breakfast,

to getting the kids to school
or to virtual school.

- I don't wanna feel like
we're half-cocked,

driving with no brakes,
chickens without heads.

- You can throw on a blazer--
- Wrap up, please.

- Work-from-home look.

This is truly a piece that
you will get so much...

- 100%.
- Use out of all year long.

- Awesome, thank you so much.
- This is an amazing piece.

- Thank you.

- We love the versatility.

- Good job.

Good job, Nicole.
- Thank you.

I feel like I didn't get
to say half the things

I wanted to say
'cause our time was cut short,

but it looked incredible
on Bethenny.

- Oh, boy, no pressure.

I've never had to sell
a product in my life.

- You got this.

Don't think about selling,
think about, like,

you're talking
to your girlfriend

trying to convince them to buy.

- I've never felt
this much adrenaline

giving a presentation at work.

For the past five years,

I've been hiding behind
a computer screen

playing with pivot tables.

This whole thing
of going live on TV

and selling an item
is a different game for me.

- You're next.

Just act like
there's no camera.

No pressure, no pressure.
You got this.

- Oh, my God.

- Come on in, Wendy.
I have a friend Wendy

who's also gonna be talking
about the jean jacket.

- Yeah, so I think
that every woman

needs to have a staple piece
in her wardrobe,

and jean jackets have been
a trend for many, many years.

I don't know if I was about
to pee my pants,

but my legs were shaking.

It'll go well with any item,
with any style.

I felt like the adrenaline
was just, like,

flushing out of my system.

It was a mess.
It was embarrassing.

And my favorite feature
is actually the pockets.

Let's say you're out
with your girlfriends

and you're out and about,

you don't want
to carry your purse...

- Or your phone.
- Or your phone.

You don't want
to lose your wallet.

- I didn't even know that.
- You can put it in there.

- That's a good tip.
Thank you so much.

- Of course.
- Wonderful, thank you.

My legs kept shaking, girl.

- You couldn't tell.
It was great.

- Literally, it's shaking.
I can't stop shaking.

What the hell?

- Bethenny,
it's been such a treat.

Tell all your friends hello and
thanks so much for joining us.

- Thank you so much,
and I'll see you again soon.

- You're clear.

- Good job, guys, everybody.

- Thank you all for helping.
You all did a very good job.

And you saw the stress
of what can happen.

Anything can happen.
That's why I try to say

there's no explanation
to this job.

Losing audio and not being able
to hear the host,

these tech issues have never
once happened in all the years

I've sold on television,
what happened today.

So you can never be prepared,

'cause I could never predict
that this would happen.

All right,
let me take a minute.

- Wow.

- Hello.
all: Hello.

- We'll just come over here.
I just wanna be able to sit.

I'm a little tired.

You all ran with the big dogs
and these sleepy lazy dogs.

I thought you all did great.

No one choked.

I think many of you
were nervous,

but you didn't appear
to be nervous.

You didn't sort of crumble.

But I would say that...

Milokssy, you did the best
in this project.

You did.
You connected.

- Thank you.
- So well-deserved.

- You started off with a bang
in saying,

I would wear this
in my Christmas photo.

It really takes someone to
choose something very specific,

and that's something
very meaningful to you.

To me that said,
"Oh, wow, you connected."

I felt, literally,
especially on a day like today,

that I could have trained you
to do it for me,

which is my dream in life
to not have to do this myself.

It is not the job,
and it's also not

what I want you
to be focusing on,

but it would be
a nice bonus--"You go."

- Okay.
- So that's why I chose you.

- Thank you.
- Since you did the best

on this project,
you and I can get together

for brunch and talk about
our lives as women

and your career and my career

and just sort of get to know
each other a little bit more.

- I look forward to it.
Thank you.

- That's incredible.

- I am overwhelmed
with emotion right now.

I really felt this huge load
off my shoulders.

And there's no way anyone's

gonna take this away
from me right now.

- So you see, like,

I'm not trying to, like,
torture any of you.

Someone has to show you
the crazy in the beginning

so you know
what you're getting into.

So this is really what it is.

It is not a corporate,
traditional job.

I will never pretend it is.

I will never pretend
you're not gonna

cry one day and be frustrated.

So are you getting
a clearer vision now

of what this is
than the first day

you walked
into the cocktail party?

- Yes.
- Very much.

- All right, girls,
thank you so much, you can go.

- Thank you!
- Thank you for having us.

- You're welcome.
Careful of the dog.

He blends in with the carpet.

- Bye, guys!
- Aww.

- I absolutely think
Milokssy deserved to win.

- Good job, girl.
- Thank you.

- But I have a lot
on the line as well.

All I can think about
is potentially going home

just because I don't
feel confident and because

I was the one that kind
of had the nervous breakdown.

- Come over here.

Smallsie,
come over here, please?

I have to get
the party started.

I'm going in
the wrong direction.

I'm a softy
when it comes to this.

Once someone's done
some work for me

and cared and taken time
and left their family

and taken a risk, it's hard
for me to let people go.

And it's not only
about the project,

because they all did
a decent job,

but living and breathing
the brand is very important.

Deep breath.
- Deep breath.

You too.

- We're good.
- I am breathing.

I've been breathing
this whole time.

- Oh, she's here.

all: Oh!
- Good morning.

- Hello.
- Hi.

- How's it going?
Hi.

Okay, well,
Milokssy and I have a date.

So we're gonna go have
a little romantic date.

- Awesome.
- Okay.

- I'll see you all later.

- Have fun.

- Okay.
- Oh, this is beautiful.

- So how has it been?

- It's been stressful,
I'm not gonna lie to you.

I never wanna sugarcoat
anything for you,

and I always want to be honest,
because everything you are,

that's what I strive to be.

I'm a mom first
before anything.

- How old?
- 7 and 11.

- Okay, wow.
And you left them.

- I left them.
- Wow.

And what do they think
you're doing?

Does your seven-year-old
understand it?

- He doesn't get it,

but I said,
"Mommy's fighting for a job."

He goes,
"But you already have a job."

And I'm like, "Well, it's a job
Mommy's always wanted."

I've never been away from them,
Bethenny,

not even one night.
- Oh, my God.

- Date night is like
three hours tops my husband,

and hurry up, I have to
get back to the boys.

- The stakes are high.
- The stakes are very high.

- Yeah. This is a growing
experience. Wow.

I'm starting to realize
that these people

are really making
huge sacrifices to be here.

Usually,
when you hire someone,

you're not aware
of their circumstances.

And I bet you there are other
problems going on here too

with other people
who are giving things up.

So now what am I going to do,
give everybody a scholarship?

You know, this is...

I know I'm gonna hire everybody

and just have all these people
living in my house

and still not have
the right person.

Run through everybody here

and, like, let me hear
what you honestly think.

- I don't know if everyone's
here for the right reasons.

- Do you think fame
is part of it?

- Fame has a lot to do with it.

- I got that too.
- Yes.

- So, um...

- Nicole, she works hard,

because I saw that
at the photo shoot.

You gave it to her.
She cried,

but she still went in there
and got it together.

- You know, at the very least,

I think this will be
a learning experience

for her to check herself.
- Yes.

- So you haven't had much time
with Krystin.

What's been your experience
with Krystin?

- Her performance yesterday,
it was her first project.

- Yeah.
- I wanted to see more.

- Yeah, like,
I wanted to see the hunger.

That's sort of what
I was missing too.

- Yes.

- Jenna,
I get the sense that...

- I like Jenna a lot.

- Does she work hard?

- Yes.
Because it's fun for her.

- She's happy to be here.

I think she's, like,
at Disneyland for the weekend.

She's excited.
- There you go.

- She's thrilled,
she's excited,

but can she do
the nitty-gritty?

- I'm not sure.

- I'm happy that Milokssy's
being honest

and telling me what she thinks
about the other people...

but is she being honest?

And then last, Wendy?

- So I like Wendy a lot.

I feel like
we're both Latinas,

and I get her hustle,

but I can't pick--
I can't pick Wendy.

And it hurts me,
because I do like her.

And, you know, I question,
she keeps telling me,

"Well, this could open
a lot of doors."

- Here we go, right.

- What doors are you

looking to open exactly?
- Yeah.

- So that's why
I question a lot.

- Yeah, I get it.

Plane's going down,

and you have to pick
two other people that are here.

Who are they?

Who's coming?

- Jenna and...

Nicole.

- Holy shit!

You're saying Jenna and Nicole?

- Yeah.
- Well, Milokssy,

if you really want this job

and you're risking
your job at home,

are you telling me
what you really think?

I mean...I can't say
what I would do,

but I mean, I will cut a bitch
if I'm trying to get a job.

All right, well...

- Can you tell me
what you were thinking?

- Nope.
Cheers.

- Cheers.
- Cheers.

- Salud.

- I'm getting nervous.

It's been a while
since we saw them.

I hear her.

- Hi.

- Milokssy.
- Milokssy!

- So Milokssy survived
a brunch with me.

- Yay!
- Good, all right.

So why don't you come around,

and we can have a conversation.

Everybody should be applauded
and did a very good job,

and I appreciate just,
like, jumping into it.

Milokssy.

- She did amazing.
- Amazing.

- So you all recognize...
- Oh, yeah.

- The producer did say,
"Wow, that was a great show."

all: Yay!

- Okay, so watch...
- Oh, no.

You all did great, you know,
honestly.

Okay, so Wendy...

- My favorite feature of this
piece is actually the pockets.

You don't wanna
carry a purse...

- Or your phone.
- Or your phone.

You don't wanna
lose your wallet.

- I didn't even know that.
I have to say,

it was honestly
almost as good as Milokssy's.

I could also have you
sell on television for me.

You engaged me so much.

I felt like you were my
girlfriend, it was excellent.

- I feel like
I'm blushing right now.

Am I getting red?
- Why?

- I don't know!
- You're embarrassed?

- Yeah.
- Are you gonna cry?

- No, no, no, I'm just, like--

- You're self-conscious?

- Yeah, it's live TV.

- Next, we're doing Jenna.

- This is one of my favorite
pieces that you have.

- It comes in other colors.

- Yes, it comes
in the Coastal Camel

and also comes in Leopard.

These are great and, yeah,
they're such great--great ones.

Great ones.

- The reason I talked,
because I saw--

- Like, about to stumble.
- Just not sure

what--if you were
gonna repeat yourself

or if you had more information
to add, you know what I mean?

You didn't interact
with the product.

- Right.

- Okay.
So we're on to Nicole.

- This is a piece that you will
get so much use out of.

Zoom,
work-from-home from look.

From yoga.
Your workout.

Metal details
on the drawstring.

Fall, winter, 20.

Put on a sweater,
just like I have right now.

- Okay, so I couldn't get
all of what you were saying.

Like, it was too much
to digest.

You have to be sort of very
clear and calm and concise.

- I was, like, I have
all these great things.

I love the product so much,
I wanted to get it all out.

And I went a little too fast.

- As I say,
it's a touching story,

but the show must go on.

- Okay, so let's do next.
Krystin.

- I absolutely love
these jeans.

The design,
can you just talk to me

a little bit
about what inspired you?

- The forward-facing stripe is
truthfully to elongate the leg.

So you could hear,

I didn't really talk a lot
with Milokssy and Wendy.

They were driving
that conversation.

But I liked that you did talk
about the forward stripe,

but you asked me
what made me think of it.

In the moment, I was not

wanting to sort of
be asked a question.

And then if I don't know
the answer, then I'm stumbl--

you know,
it gives me a problem.

Because I know that those
minutes, I'm losing money.

So just--it's about connecting,
really connecting,

understanding what she wants.

So...
- Uh-oh.

- Now,
down to the nitty-gritty.

So I would say the two of you

can sort of just go
take a walk.

- Appreciate it.

I thought I was gonna
go home.

- So down to the three of you.

Okay, it's hard.

I'm just getting to
know you, Krystin,

and you have
a very strong presence.

You're smart.

You have an energy,
you know what I'm saying?

You're like,
"I'm ready, let's go."

Nicole, you have definitely
calmed it all down.

And I know you work hard.
I can see that you work hard.

I see you're passionate.
You're excited, I get it.

Jenna, I continue to say
that you are the customer.

You connect with the customer.

You literally live
the Skinnygirl lifestyle,

which is valuable to me.

Your briefing was the best.
- Thank you.

- You really understood
what needed to be done,

so for me that would be great,

because I'm usually
the one going on,

and just understanding
what the information was.

This is a big uprooting.
This is a big life risk.

I'm looking for a killer.

I don't want someone
to actually kill somebody,

but I'm looking for
that killer instinct.

I've been missing that.

I've been missing that
in someone who's like me

and who can walk
into a situation

and assess it and handle it.

I need someone to handle it,

because I always handle it.

I do all the minutia
and the big stuff.

I'm not looking
for yes woman or man.

So there's a delicate balance.

And...

Jenna, I don't think
you're the right person

for the position
that I'm looking for.

- Sure.
- I do think

that you could
somehow work with us

maybe as a Skinnygirl
ambassador in your area.

- I would love that.

- And what's positive
for you in your life,

you're not a killer.

And that may be good or be bad.
I mean, honestly, you know?

- I've killed at every job
and I've made all the work.

But you're right, I'm soft.
- Listen.

- I'm a lover, not a fighter.

- Listen, I'm not here
to criticize you.

You know, you are a serious,
smart woman that's successful.

So wear that.
- Okay.

- You know, you are amazing.
- Thank you.

I adore you.
- Aww, thank you.

- And I wanna say thank you
so much for this opportunity.

- Oh, don't cry.
You're gonna make me cry.

It's okay, it's okay.
You did amazing.

You did a great job,
and you are the brand.

- I'm happy, like, it's fine.

And you've got great people,
and to make it this far...

- You made it so far.
- It's a dream.

These are happy tears.
- No, I know.

Everybody loves you.
And you maybe--

you now don't
have to do a big uprooting.

I appreciate you very much.

Okay, all right, ladies,
go, you know, have a drink.

Thank you for your hard work.

- I'll have one.
- Thank you so much.

- That's a good idea.

- Oh, what a sweetie pie.

It was hard because she is
so sweet and she is the brand.

I am the worst at this.

I thought I was gonna be good,

but this dress is such a sham.

I just--she was so sweet
and so loving

and so here
for the right reasons.

I--this is very hard.
I have to pick a killer.

- So it's me.
It's been quite a ride.

It's all good.
- You're my soul sister.

- Jenna is amazing,
but she's not the boss.

So let's see
who has what it takes.

- Thank you.
- Bye, Jenna.

- In the moment I was upset,
but I'm really more grateful

than anything
that I got this chance.

I have so much respect
for Bethenny.

Even when the world is slowing
down, she is going for it.

And I just commend her
for that.

And I think she is amazing.
She has the biggest heart.

And that's what I think
connects me most to her, so...

- I need a killer,
and I'm not done looking.

Fair doesn't matter.
This isn't a math test.

It's life.

In life sometimes
you're the one

who meets Brad Pitt
and then he marries you.

Sometimes you're just in
the right place the right time,

something happens,
there's luck, I don't know.

- Hello?
This is Brody.

- Hi, it's Bethenny Frankel.

How are you?

- Hey.
- Hey.

- I'm back!
