Kindred Spirits (2016–…): Season 4, Episode 9 - Hell House - full transcript

Amy and Adam, along with psychic medium Chip Coffey, investigate the infamous Harrisville Farmhouse. They call upon the entire Perron family -- the home's original victims -- to help expose...

I think there's something
like 200 miners died

inside this place.

My flashlight went dead.
I started hearing footsteps.

You can't see it's preying
on your most vulnerable state.

I'm sorry. What the
**** was that?

Do not blame me.

You want a piece of me,
I'll give it to you.

Something was following us
at a distance.

It's a very weird place.

What the ****?

All of a sudden.

- No.
- No.

- No.
- No.

The power is going off.

The dead want a voice.

We just want to help
this family.

The living need our help.

Have you always
been here?

He was watching already.

here we are at
sterling hill mining museum.

This mine only closed
in the '80s.

I know that while the mine
was an operation,

it was something like 200 miners
died inside this place.

The sterling hill mine
was once

one of the world's richest
zinc ore deposits.

Cave-ins, broken cables,

and controlled explosions
gone awry contributed to

the deaths of countless miners
over the years.

Mining began on site
in the 1630s

and it was the last working
underground mine in new jersey

when it closed in 1986.

There are a lot of miners
who are still

kind of involved
with this organization

because they want to keep
the history of this place alive.

And, you know,
this is the heart of this town.

They've been grappling
with a lot of strange activity,

voices, shadows,
footsteps,

the sounds of mining equipment
moving in there,

people being
tapped on the shoulder.

Being sworn at.
Things like that
is intimidating.

When somebody is tapping you
on the shoulder

or like talking to you

or you hear a voice
in the middle of darkness.

I mean, that's kind of
frightening.
Yeah.

Everyone here is very science
based, fact based,

and they've been
grappling with it

for a number of years now.

They finally were just kind of
like this part,

we don't understand.

They're not sure
what's happening

and they don't love
going in there to do their jobs.

And so that's why
they contacted us.

They're just anxious
for answers.-

Logistically,
it's gonna be different

than what we're used to.
Also dark.

Very dark and underground.
And I don't really love that.

Well, I mean, I guess
we go see what fred has to say

and then try to figure out
what's going on.

Yeah, I'm fred's been here
for a number of years, too,

so he's got
a ton of experiences

and a lot of knowledge
of the history here.

So he's the right guy
to talk to for sure.

- Welcome.
- Hey. Hi, I'm amy.

Welcome to sterling hill.

Wow.
It's a lot bigger
than I imagined.

Thirty five miles of tunnels
underground.

- Really?
-2,850 feet deep.

- Okay.
- You're basically in a mountain.

How long have people been doing
tours in it and everything?

We started in, 1991.
You have, you know,

a bunch of school kids
every year come through here

like 20,000, 25,000.
Wow.

This is how the miners
went to work.

What happened here?
What do we need to know,

as far as
paranormal activity.

Well, we have
a lot of that in here.

One of the weird things
in here,

you hear sometimes it sounds
like an explosion

like they're dynamiting.

- Wow. Okay.
- You get growling in here.

- Okay.
- Really nasty growling.

Did it sound like an animal?

No, it didn't sound
like anything I ever heard of.

We heard that back. Put it
by the shift station back here.

This is where the miners would
load onto the skip cart.

Okay.
And they would
go to their levels.

I was with friends of mine.
Big, tough guys.

Funny when you see a big, tough
guy get scared.

- Yeah.
- Total darkness.

And all of a sudden
we heard this hideous growl.

You can't pinpoint
where it's coming from.

Right.
Especially the acoustics here

are...Every time you talk,
you hear your echo bounce.

- Exactly.
- Right.

Some ladies say
they saw figure.

It was all, like,
deformed looking,

like he was, like, injured.
Okay.

And a woman had asked
if if you were injured.

And the answer was,
you know,

was crystal clear was,
**** you.

Boy, it just seems
really intimidating.

It is intimidating.

- alright.
- Okay.

Now we're walking up to
the intersection.

I don't get scared that easy.
But the first time was here.

So I'm walking down here.
I started hearing footsteps.

They were walking fast.

And they're walking
towards me.

You got really, really cold
and my flashlight went dead.

It was unnerving because
I couldn't see nothing.

- That sounds like a nightmare.
- But my light came back on.

Very dull enough where I could
see and walk out of the mine.

But those footsteps
were so distinct and so loud.

- And did they sound like boots?
- Did it sound like this?

Just like...Yeah.
Okay.

You know, what was it?
Yeah.

I don't know.

this leads to, in the mining
days to the powder magazine.

For the...
For the dynamite.

Yes. When they would
they would bring the dynamite

and bring it down
to their works.

Yeah.

This is where
an angry guy hangs out.

He likes to push people.
- An angry guy?

I've had a couple of people
that got pushed here.

Wow. And so you've heard
something in here.

I've heard, it sounded like
music-box noise

it went on for like
five minutes.

Then it finally
faded away.

And people ask you
where the music comes from.

And it was like
all around you.

You couldn't pinpoint
where it was coming from.

Like I said,
we hear the sounds here.

A lot of times
it's like it's all around you.

Right.
So we'll probably have to
learn our way around that.

In this room,
the old shaft station.

How long was this one used?
1916 to 1960, maybe?

We had the chain up here.

And every time
we walk up to it,

all the lights would come on,
and when we'd go back there,

they would go out,
and we did this several times.

It was like, don't go here,
don't go here, don't go here.

So we're gonna head
to the office.

there's a lot of weird stuff
going on here.

I was sitting here...

...And we're all
hanging out talking,

and outta the corner of my eye
I see something.

I look up,
and right around the bend

there's this gray face.

It looked like, it looked like,
dark gray smoke.

He had a beard and he had a hat.
And I'm looking right at it.

And I'm like, I didn't --
get from getting goose bumps.

And then it just zipped
really fast.

- Wow.
- And then my whole body

got full of what it felt
like electricity.

My legs went numb
and it was really creepy.

Another time,
my cajun buddy was making

jambalaya in the kitchen.

He came in all spooked
and he goes, why is your face

staring at me in the window?

And I said, "what window?"
"this window."

I said, "its can't be
we're two stories up."

but that's one of the things
that happens here.

Faces in the windows.

It's almost sounds like
there's constant activity

happening all the time.
And you are still working here.

Yeah.
This place is screwed up.

And so
what would you like,

what would you like for us
to accomplish while we're here?

I'd like to find out
what's here. You know.

I've dealt with it for a long
time and it's not friendly.

And you sort of see
what's going on there?

- Exactly.
- But thank you so much.

You've been super helpful.

And I'm sure
we'll be in touch.

- Alright. Thank you.
- Alright. Thank you.

I think some of
the experiences

that fred has had
have been pretty intense.

I mean, and that are scary.

The sound of explosions,
the growling shadow figures,

footsteps coming up behind you,

which is completely unnerving
when you are inside of a mine.

And this is a huge location.

We have to be cautious
about what we hear

and what we feel
and what we think,

because sound echoes like crazy
in this space.

The biggest thing that we need
to do is approach it like

we always do
and find out who, what, and why.

Tonight, we're going to start
by the main shaft,

and that's where the miners
would kind of assemble

and be sent to where they were
gonna be spending their workday.

Freddy told us about
how they had heard groans there.

They had seen a figure
in that area

and I would like
to experience that

and see if we can see them
for ourselves.

When he was describing
the activity in here,

I would not be able
to understand him sometimes

because his own echo was coming
back and like talking over him.

I mean, if you barely talk,
I can barely whispering.

It sounds like
it's everywhere.

What was that?

Hello?

It scared me.
I know.

so like that sound,
was that back here

or was that over there
reverberating back here?

It sounds like it's coming
from everywhere.

Yeah.

hello?

what was that?

That's sounded like
a voice.

Yeah, like really far down.

Like a male voice
echoing down the hall.

Or down the mine.

do you know, freddy?

what the ****
was that?

I don't do you guys, like
do you hear this crazy noise?

Hi, my name's amy.

My name's adam.

Can you come out for us?

what?

What?

are you supposed to be down
here at night like this?

No.

Did you know
about the elevator incident?

what the ****?

- No.
- No.

- No.
- No. Power is out.

We're investigating a museum
that was an active mine

until the mid 1980's.
Lately, something has been

terrorizing employees
and visitors.

what?

What?

I saw something like all
the way to the back right there.

Okay.

To the right of that, yes.
Of that.

Okay. Because I've seen it now
two or three times lower.

Yes.
Yes.

And it's as though someone
is just kind of standing

at the edge of that opening
and kind of rocking out

and then rocking back in.

what the ****
was that?

who's down there?

Do you work here?

one of the most terrifying
things is being in this space.

and not knowing
where it's coming from.

You can't figure it out.

It's really **** weird.
Okay, let's,
let's walk down there.

You know,
let's just go see.

this is where he said
the voices weren't nice?

Yes.

This is where
an angry guy hangs out.

He likes to push people.

So maybe this is a good place to
park for a minute.

Yeah.
And do some evp work.

Yeah.

This is where he heard
the footsteps

coming down this corridor.
Hello there.

They asked us to come here
to talk to you.

we don't know
why you are still here,

but if something
happened to you,

think it would be beneficial
for us to know

so that we could find out
exactly who you are.

Are we supposed to be
down here at night like this?

are we safe?

seems like that's a pretty
far drop right there.

What was that?

I heard, like a big
mechanical machinery sound

like it went like

am I crazy?
Did anybody else here that?

Well, I heard something,

but I thought it was
coming from back here.

I'm definitely borderline
getting panicky.

Let's listen to this.

That's a "no."
"no."
that's a "no."

"no."
that's a very solid "no."

I mean, that was like a no.
Yes.

Which is...
You are not supposed to
be here at night.

Which is very much in line

with why freddy was
telling us happens here.

We get a voice here
that's not happy.

Alright.
Let's regroup.

This case is a conundrum.

We're supposed to be here
to find out who is this person.

But it could be one of a 100,
a few hundred, a 1,000.

Although,
I was surprised at how clear

that "no" evp was?
Right.

He was right next to us.

This was a case for like
like once we get the history

and the facts, whatever.
If chip does walk through

getting wherever
he's going to tell us,

but also like the spirit box,

things that don't require
to fight through the echo.

Right.
We can't rely on audio here

because there's just
too the noises are

there's just too many.

So we just need to think
outside the box,

like what else
are we going to use here?

There is something
going on in this mine.

We saw some sort of small figure
down the main mine

and occasionally there's
something that comes through.

That sounds like a very distinct
kind of moaning sound.

And we got a very firm "no,"
and that's very much in line

with what freddy
told us happens in that area.

So it's nice that we're able
to kind of confirm

what he's experiencing.

It's not really getting us
any closer

to finding out who's here,

but at least we're experiencing
the same activity they are.

- hi, are you doug?
- I am.

Hi, I'm amy.
Hello, amy.

We are going to meet up
with a gentleman named doug

who actually was a miner
in the sterling hill mine

for a number of years.

We're basically hoping to see
if he has any stories for us

as far as tragedies
that happened there

and see if he had
any experiences himself.

We were referred to you
because we heard you spent

a lot of time
in the sterling hill mine,

12 years,
two years out of high school,

1974, till the day it closed
in 1986.

One of the last ones out
getting the pink slip.

- Yeah.
- Really?

Did you enjoy your time
as a miner.

I loved it.
Yeah?
I loved it.

But when
you were working there,

were there any, like,
notable accidents

or incidents
that you can remember?

Two years before I started
was the last death.

What was that accident?
How did that happen?

Drilling and the whole roof
fell on them. Crushed them.

No. Okay. Yeah.
Were you ever afraid or...?

I was cautious.
I guess that's the right word.

I was never really afraid.
Afraid.

Right.
Obviously, I don't.

We're a paranormal
investigators,

so we always like to know
about the tragedies.

As far as paranormally.
Yeah.

If there was a spirit,
if there was some entity

that needed closure
or to be able to move on.

Let's go back 61 years,
1958.

They're shutting down
the old shaft.

So they're
decommissioning it.

They were taken it apart,
taken all the useful stuff.

Doing whatever with it.

Two guys riding the cage,

unloading the stuff
on the surface,

coming back down.
Get another load.

The hoist engineer
at that point

had taken them out of balance,
which you never do.

The cage screams down the shaft
400 feet, slams into 1850.

One guy dies instantly.
God!

And every time we walk up

with all the lights
would come on

and we would go back
there would go out.

It was like, don't go here,
don't go here, don't go here.

It's the second guy's
thrown face first

into a pool of water.

The one guy rushes forward,
pulls this guy out of the water,

cradles him,
and he dies in his arm.

God.
No.

Somewhere there is a picture
of the cable

all jumbled at the bottom.

So that's the actual bottom
of the mine.

I mean, that is a tragic
it's tragic what happened.

When you were in the mine,
did you ever have

any strange experiences?

I didn't.
But was I looking for them?

I mean, I was never
contemplatively sitting in

a quiet place
for an hour and waiting,

waiting for knocks
and things, you know?

Yeah.
Hustling and working.

When we stood in there,
complete silence.

We hear things voices
or we hear loud bangs

and things like
what is making that happen?

I would hear that underground
when the mine was working.

What is it? I don't.

So what you're telling us
is that it's unexplained.

Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.

Would you consider
going in the mine with us?

Your energy and your
expertise in this space,

I think would help us start
to sort of have a dialog

with whoever's there,
if they are still there.

Just for a little bit
to see what would happen.
Yeah, I would do that.

Doug has been
a wealth of information.

So we're bringing him back
to the mine with us.

I think it's it's gonna just
help us with our investigation

to get someone
who actually spent,

you know, years
and years in that mine

and see if he recognizes
any of these strange
sounds we're hearing.

Why don't we go down to,
where all the angry,

like they start to get
the angry stuff?

Hey, guys.
Doug is back.

This is this is where
we got that evp last night.
Yeah.

are we supposed to be down
here at night like this?

"no."

maybe we should start here
with some stuff.

Yeah.

So we brought our friend,
doug, to join us.

So I'm going to
say some years

to figure out
when you were here.

Do you remember the '50s?

What was that?

- Do you hear that, that rumble?
- Like a big rumbling?

No, it's probably.
No, I hear it.

It's like a rumble sound.

What is that?

sounds like an
ore cart on tracks.

Strange.
That was weird right?

What are you thinking, chip?

It just felt like something was
following us at a distance.

So why are you here?

Is there somebody
standing right here?

We're investigating the old
sterling mine with doug.

Hopefully his 12 years
of experience in these tunnels

can help us explain
the noises we heard last night.

What was that?

Do you hear that, that rumble?
Like a big rumbling.

Sounds like
an ore cart on tracks.

Like, way somewhere.

Would there have been
ore cart down that direction?

No. Strange. Yeah.

Yeah,
that was weird, right?

well, that sound was down there,
should we keep going that way?

Yeah, let's go see
if we can hear it.

You know, most of the time
when people we help people,

they're like, I'm glad you're
hearing the noises I'm hearing.

It means we're not crazy.

But now it's I'm glad you're
hearing voices we're hearing

and don't know what they are
because means we're not crazy.

Okay, so this is a good juncture
to stop at.

Hello.

so wherever you are,
can you just make a noise

so we can come find you?

you hear that it's voices,
down there. Right?

What was that?

I...Eesh.

That was a voice.

And that's the oldest part
of the mine,

it's hand drilled the holes
and black powder.

Yeah.
If I was going
to congregate somewhere,

you know
this is all new.

Yeah.
You want to go where you know.

You know, mean it may
not have any attraction.

I don't know, I think
we can sit here all night

and hear these distant voices,

but until we understand
what they're saying,

we're not going to get any
closer to solving this mystery.

It's great to have experiences
you have because we back up

where everyone
is talking about here.

But our goal is to
find out who and why.

It's hard in this space.

Yeah. Alright.

Well, thank you.
I hope you enjoyed it.

- Absolutely.
- And it's been really helpful.

12 years times, 52 weeks
and five days a week.

I walked in here three --
over 3,000 times.
That's wild.

And at the end of day
back out, the 3,000 times.

And yet you've never heard
the voices you heard tonight.

True.
Until now.

That's true.
Well, welcome to our world.

Thanks for inviting us
into yours.

Anytime.

Obviously, adam and I
have been hearing

those noises in there.
But you have doug hear them

and not have
any explanation for it,

just kind of confirmed for us
that we are onto something.

We're hearing equipment and
operations happening in a mine

that has been closed
for decades.

So like this is not just a
natural occurrence in this mine.

This is something strange.

Doug got a very moving story

about two gentlemen
were in the skip

and basically crashed
to the floor of the mine.

And both of them died.
So right now, I'm trying to see

if I can find any names
associated with that accident.

"frank carroll,
of franklin cage operator,

stepped off the cage at
the 1,600 foot level,

when the cage
suddenly plunged to

the bottom of
the 2,100-foot shaft."

I'm also looking for other
tragedies that stand out

and could help us
in our investigation.

Is a car crash of ore cars.

"three brakemen were killed
in a railway collision,

and the bodies
of the brakeman

were pinned fast
in the wreckage."

the bodies were removed to
the office

of the new jersey zinc company."

that was in 1909.

There's so much that happened
here at the mine over the years.

So I'm going to assemble
these together.

And tonight,
I'm going to bring them up

during a spirit box session
with adam

and see if I get a response.

tonight, we are going
to investigate in the office

where freddy has had
the most experiences,

sound shouldn't be
an issue here.

So hopefully we can get
clearer answers.

Hi, my name's amy.

Thank you for talking
with us tonight.

I just have some questions
for you.

My friend adam here should
be able to hear your answers.

Okay, so just talk
as loudly as you can.

We're just trying to figure out
who's still here and why.

There's a crowd.

Did you know about the cars
that crashed here?

This was in 1909.
Three men died.

did you know about
the elevator accident?

is there somebody standing
right here?

Like, I feel like somebody's
standing right here.

I was chased out.

You were
chased out of the mines?

Out of the mine.

did you cause an accident?

Come on now.

You want a piece of me,
I'll give it to you.

Stop making **** up.

Amy and I
are trying to communicate

with an aggressive spirit
at the sterling hill mine.

Whatever's here is finally
starting to talk.

I was chased out.

You were chased out
of the mines?

Out of the mine.

okay. Who chased you
out of the mine?

were you chased out
from your job?

I was out of work.

was your job something
to do with the cage?

Was it something to do
with the hoisting?

Operational.

Did you cause an accident?

Come on now.
Okay.

Did something happen
where you were treated unfairly?

I can't describe it.

did you do something wrong?
You do not follow a procedure.

I apologized.
Okay.

So I guess what I'm getting here
is that there was an accident

and you were responsible

or they told you you were
responsible

or they blamed you.

So why are you here?

Why are you here?

What do you want us
to do for you?

We're here to help you just
as much as we help anyone else.

Are you done talking?

my god.

So that was weird.
I felt really trapped.

Well, it was wild.
Okay, so.

So basically what I did is
I had I had assembled

a bunch of newspaper articles,
but the one that kind of seemed

to bring up a response
was the mining accident,

the one from the '50s.

And you said, "I was chased out"
and I said, "out of the mine?"

and you said,
"out of the mine."

the same exact thing,
I just said.

That's weird.
Yeah.

And I said,
did you not follow protocol?

Is that what happened?
And you said, "come on now."

and so I kept kind of digging
and I was like,

were you treated unfairly?

And you said, "I can't.
I apologized."

and so I vibe
from that conversation.

Is someone actually
did something that resulted

in an accident and got fired
and is still not happy about it.

What if it's frank?
The hoister?

I mean,
that would make sense.

So hoist engineer
at that point

had taken them out of balance,
which you never do.

What is he's like,
"I screwed up."

right?

The lamp just
has gone completely.

And what's the one thing
that you've got to have?

Light.
Light is the thing.

We still have this one,

so we're gonna be able
to see.

will it come back?

Wait a minute.
Why would it go out?

I don't know.

Someone is here who feels
like something bad happened

and it was their fault.

When chip gets here,
I think it's a good idea

to just take him like
where the accident happened.

And then we'll see if he
picks up on that right there.

And like that'll be
another big clue

as to what
this is involving.

Chip is coming to the
mine and we kind of set it up

in a way where he's not
going to see the mine at first,

so we have him entering
with a blindfold on

and we're going to
basically bring him

right to the office area.

Okay.
You can take off the blindfold.

Just don't look anywhere around
you. Just straight ahead.

Look straight ahead.

What we're hoping is that
chip can kind of point us

in the right direction.

So we'll just start
with this area

and you can kind of
just walk this way and.

don't fall.

Like, don't fall.

but he did.

Someone fell off of a higher
place with a face wound.

The second guy's thrown face
first into a pool of water.

don't blame me. Guy.
Don't blame me.

Do not blame me.

It's not what you think.

I'm hearing.

Hold on.

Something stepped out
and then stepped back in.

We brought in chip coffey
to help us hone in

on an aggressive spirit
at sterling hill mine.

He immediately picked up
on the spirit.

We contacted last night.

Don't blame me.
Do not blame me.

not responsible.
Do not blame me.

you want a piece of me,
I'll give it to you.

Very defensive.
Stop making **** up.

Almost defensive to the point
of going on the offense.

He's a bit of a jerk.

Is any of that make any sense?

Yes.
And that's this
is really it for this space.

- Yeah.
- We wanted to just start here

and we have another place
we need to go.

- Alright.
- Alright.
- Awesome.

What the hell?

do we know if someone died
in this area?

We do know.

Was it something bloody?
Because I'm getting blood.

I don't know.
I'm getting something here.

Abdomen.

push, blood.

"it's not what you think."
I'm hearing him.

it's all I'm getting here.
Okay. Alright.

Yeah. We'll go.
Follow us.

what?!

wow.

Did you have any idea
you were coming to a mine?

I had no clue.

what are you thinking,
chip?

I just felt like something
was following us at a distance.

And I got here
and they were walking fast.

And then I'm walking
and they're walking towards me.

It's a very weird place.

Can we continue?

Sure.
Okay.

hold on.

something stepped out
and then stepped back in.

Stepped out of this in the haze
and then stepped back in.

Like almost like
a shadow person.

Like this kind of thing?

Just kind of
drifting back? Yeah.

It's as though someone is just
kind of standing at the edge

of that opening kind of rocking
out and then rocking back in.

this is
the sterling hill mine.

I think that the biggest moment
was that you picked up

on the same entity
we did in the office.

We're in the same
conversational tone.

We definitely picked up
on a man who was like,

it was not my fault.
I didn't do it.

Exactly what you said.
Literally what you said.

Like word for word,
what you said.

That first shaft
that we took you into...

Down the stairs.
...There was an accident there

where two men,
they were in a skip car.

Like this.
And the hoist operator

got off of the skip car.

He's not supposed
to get off of it.

It basically plummeted like
400 feet down into the shaft.

And they were both killed.

But you picked up on it
and you picked up on the death.

So we're gonna do some
experiments tonight, obviously,

and we'd love for you
to investigate with us

if you're game.

I am totally up for that.

Armed with what we got
on the spirit box,

plus what chip sensed,

tonight we're gonna bring chips
to the old mine shaft

because that is the scene
of the accident.

What we're hoping is that
with chip with us,

we'll be able to kind of tune in

to whoever is there
a little bit more.

Maybe he can just give us
an idea of who they are.

everyone involved
in this accident,

including the gentleman
who was operating the cage lift,

frank, had been employed by
this company for over 30 years.

That being said,
the story we just talked about.

Are you familiar with it?

We're hoping that
you will talk to us.

Do you feel like your life
was cut short?

We need to find out
what your name is.

Can you tell me your name?

let's listen to this,
see if we're getting anywhere.

I heard. "get out."

it's somebody who's
who's disgruntled about us

even being in space.

What the ****?

- No.
- No.

- No.
- No. The power is out.

I think we've got
a pretty clear message

as to what's
going on here.

To all the miners
who have perished here,

you are not forgotten,
thank you.

We're investigating the site
of one of the worst accidents

to ever happen
at the sterling hill mine.

And whatever is here
wants us gone.

What the ****?

- No.
- No.

- No.
- No. The power is out.

Why are the, wait,
why are the lights on?

- Wait.
- What?

They're losing power.
The power is going off.

What are we
what have we done?

Like, what are we on
right now?

The power's going off
in the whole mine.

I'd say we hit
a nerve there.

They're trying to turn
the lights out on us.

Yes, light.

Whoever this is who does not
want us to know more

and this information is like,
how do I get you out of a mine?

How do I prevent you from doing
anything else in a mine?

I turn off the lights.
Right.

Get out.
I turn out the lights.

I started hearing footsteps.

And they're walking towards me
and my flashlight went dead.

the lamp just
is gone completely.

And what's the one thing
that you've got to have?

Light.
Light.

So some of us
are getting anywhere.

Last name first,
"carroll, frank," listen.

Yeah.
Yeah. Carroll, frank.

We struck a nerve.
We got our name.

We got our answers.
Yes.

The power went out.
Yeah.

We get it. We're good.
We know who the grumpy dude is.

The one who's being
very aggressive.

We know who's very sensitive
about talking

about certain things.

And enough so that this person
died years later

but still came back
to defend his name.

Right.

I think we've got
a pretty clear message

as to what's going on here.

We know without a doubt
frank carroll decided

that it was his time
to come through to us

and he doesn't want
to talk to us.

And he's doing whatever he can
to get us out of here.

His emotions seem raw
and he's still clearly affected

by the accident.

You'll hopefully by
telling frank's story

to the employees like freddy.

They can come out
and talk to him

and maybe frank will trust them
and stop acting out.

So, freddy.
Yes.

You guys have
a very special place here.

We did find something
very interesting going on.

So we kind of subscribe
to this theory

that some spirits,
like intelligent spirits

remain because they have some
sort of unfinished business.

We definitely found
someone like that here.

So when we brought chip in,
he's picked up on someone

who felt like they had been
blamed for an accident,

that they did not do
or and they did make a mistake,

but they're denying it.

And so that's when
we started thinking

was the someone involved
in that accident happened

in the old mine shaft.

So that night we went back in
and things started happening.

So let's go -- I'll play you
some of the evps we got.

Did you hear that?
Yeah.

It says "get out."

all of a sudden, the power
goes off in the whole mine.

And was it because

of what we brought up,
we will never really know.

- I don't know.
- But it was just the timing

because it was getting
very uncomfortable in that space

and we could tell he did not
want to talk about it any more.

Then we also got this evp.

He was like, "frank."
- yeah.

- Isn't that cool?
- Yeah. Guy got like...

That sounds kind of creepy.

- Yeah. Yeah.
- "frank."

so I don't know if he harbors
some sort of guilt.

For some reason though,
he feels either responsible

or feels like somebody...

He should've been
one of them, maybe.

- Maybe.
- Maybe, "why, why me?"

you kind of have to just be
understanding of his situation.

Keep it in mind
and focus on that

and make sure the history
- I'll talk to him.

We do want to make like
a little offering to the mine,

just to like
leave our mark here.

We have a little idea
for something we can do, so.

- Yeah.
- Okay.

so each of us are going
to write something.

It can be to frank.

It could be to any miner
that may have perished.

"to all the miners who have
worked and perished here,

you are not forgotten.
Thank you."

I think we've given
frank a platform now.

We know he's here.

He knows he's being heard,
and those things together,

maybe over time,
will kind of help him

come to terms and become at
peace with what happened here.
