on the right-hand side up there.

as being a bully.

Berry: Can you tell me
how you died?

Murder.
Oh, god.

The dead want a voice.

We just want to
help this family.

Berry:
The living need our help.

Have you always been here?

He was watching already.



Berry: Whoa.

This place is awesome.

Yeah. Big space.

Here we are.

Berry: I'm really excited
to be here

because I know that it's
notoriously haunted...

activity that's
kind of concerning.

I mean, when someone is
pushed up against the wall,

or when someone hears
a disembodied voice,

or sees this creepy
shadow figure

crawling across the wall...
which they're claiming to see...

I mean, that is really
intense activity.

Yes. This was built
in 1959.

And this is
a very historic town,



so who knows what else went on
in this area before that.

This place has been investigated
for a while now.

And so, ronnie,
who we're meeting,

he bought the building
about a year ago,

and he's taken on the huge
undertaking of restoring it

to look like the original
hospital, for historic purposes

and for paranormal
investigation purposes.

And we also know what can
happen when a building

is constantly investigated.

It can increase activity.

It can make it
more crazy, at times.

I mean, it really, like, it runs
the gamut of paranormal activity

that... you kind of see a bit
of everything in this space.

It's an investigator's dream
to kind of get their hands

on a building like this.

Oh, my god.
I can't wait.

Well, should we go meet him?

Ronnie: So, this would be
the main foyer of the hospital.

This was the main lobby.

Wow. This is awesome.

It was just a hospital, right?

It was a full-service hospital.

It had dental services.
It had hospital services,

as well as emergency room,
as well.

When did it close?
1998.

How long have you owned
the building itself?

I bought the building
last January.

How many owners have there been?
Do you know?

As far as I know,
once the building had shut down,

there was one family that
actually owned the hospital,

and I purchased it
after that family.

What has been your goal
in the hospital

since taking it over?

What we're trying to do is
bring the hospital back to

primarily what it kind of
looked like back then.

This building meant a lot
to marion county,

and we want to
really dedicate that,

and show the community
that we respect the building.

So, why is it haunted?

Before the hospital
was actually built,

there was actually a plantation
that was on the grounds.

And according to what we have...
we understood, or what we heard,

is that the plantation
actually burned.

Okay. And there...
are we talking, like,

there's always been
activity here.

Correct.

There were two or three
of the nurses

that we actually spoke with

that actually had an interaction
with a spirit.

Oh. Okay.

So, there was activity here

even when the hospital was open?

That is correct.

Like, strong activity?

I mean, usually, by the time
we get to a space,

there's something going on
that's out of the ordinary.

Some of our guests
are being aggressively pushed,

aggressively touched,
especially the females.

And we find that mostly women
are the ones

that the spirit actually
will kind of attach itself to.

Alright. So, where should we
head first, do you think?

Let's head up to the
second floor nurses station.

- Oh.
- Oh. Okay, great.

We'll follow you.

one of the claims of the
building is there's a shadow,

and you will actually
get the full shadow.

- Down there?
- Down here.

We had some volunteers here.

They were seeing it continuously

for probably about
20 to 25 minutes.

Wow.

All these, like, medical
devices and things in the room,

are those original
to the hospital?

They are not.
We brought them in afterwards.

Do you find you're
having more activity

by bringing in
stuff like this, or...?

We're finding that most of
the activity that we're getting

is actually when we're doing
some of the renovations.

Bruni:
And then, what else?

We can go to
part of the building

that we call
"the body box."

in this hospital,
we didn't have a morgue,

so they had stored them
in what was called a body box...

it was a cold room...

until the coroner
could get here,

and actually pick up the body,

and take it to
the coroner's office.

Wow.

and do you get activity in here?

This is actually a very active
part of the hospital.

We got a lot of evps
in this area,

and the spirit box does wonders.

The spirit box.

Ronnie: Just recently,
we had three people

during the spirit box
experiment,

and we were asking questions.

And we were getting
intelligent responses.

Okay. Body box. Check.

So, this is our third floor.

This is our most active floor
in the building.

There is a very
aggressive spirit up here.

They say that there's
a 7-or-8-foot tall man...

Oh, geez.

...Where we're standing
right now,

where one of my investigators...

actually, amy,
where you're flashing

your flashlight right now...

was actually pushed up
against the wall.

Oh, geez. Okay.

So, she had quite
the experience up here.

There is a very
aggressive spirit up here.

What brings on
the activity, though?

There's no rhyme or reason.

Okay. So, what was
this space before?

This space would have actually
been the waiting area.

If we go through the doors,

that would be
the maternity ward.

And this is where I had

probably my most
profound experience.

We were with a group
in the evening,

and we were all
sitting up there,

and we actually
witnessed a nurse

that actually had
walked right past us.

And she was actually
self-illuminating...

like, you could
actually see her.

She actually stopped,
and she looked into my eyes,

and then walked, opened up
that door, and disappeared.

Berry: No way.

But it was...
you heard it open and close?

Correct. We actually witnessed
it open and close.

Wow.

With that in mind, I mean,
what what are you hoping

that we can accomplish
as we investigate?

When we had purchased
the building,

there was just a lot
of rumors and speculation.

We've done a lot of research,

but we're coming up
pretty short.

So, we called you guys
to bring in the experts,

to see if we could find
who actually is here.

Okay.

Ronnie, he's got a very clear
attachment to this building.

You know, he can control
the renovations,

and putting everything
back together.

I don't know that he was ready
for the kind of

paranormal activity
that was going to kick up.

It's not often we come into
a place like this,

that really is open
just for the ghosts.

And so, I don't know if this
is activity that's building up

because of the investigations
that are going on here.

And maybe, you know,
people aren't necessarily

investigating the way
they should be in this place.

Know you, some of the activity
here that's more concerning

is kind of the more
physical-type activity.

You have people being grabbed.
You have people being shoved.

And that kind of activity in
a space like this is concerning.

We're meeting with jb,
who is an employee here,

and we'd like
to hear experiences

directly from the people

who actually had
the experiences.

And so, I'm interested to know
who these entities are.

If we can trace them
down, somehow.

Jb: I was actually
coming up this staircase.

I got one step up,
and I felt a push

from the middle of my back.

And I fell forward, and caught
myself, and hit my knee on that.

I looked around,
and there was nobody behind me.

- Really?
- Yeah.

Nobody was around me.
I was by myself.

So, are you the only one
that's been pushed?

No. Actually, one of
our lead volunteers, todd,

has been pushed.

And he had
the same experience...

a hand pushing forward
up the stairs.

Good to know. Be careful
going up and down the stairs.

Berry: Right.

Nurse's station.

Second floor
seems to be a hotspot.

- Yeah, really.
- The nurse's station is very active.

I have actually seen
something that's just...

it's terrifying to me.

There was a black figure,
about the size of a dog.

It crawled across
the top of the ceiling,

and then around the corner.
- Really?

It terrified me.

My heart sped up,
and I have nightmares about it.

Wow.

That was what we call
"the creeper."

and have has have
other people seen this.

Jb: Yes.

Since the remodel
of the hospital,

it's being seen
on all three floors.

And it's almost like
it's got free of rain.

- Okay. -Okay. -Okay.

Berry: Jb had a crazy experience
where she saw

this creepy crawly shadow thing.

They seemed to be
a little intense,

and to cause mischief
and activity.

And I'm going to say it...
I hope to ****

I see this creepy dog creature,
because otherwise,

we have no way to investigate
something like that.

Amy and I are gonna
start our investigation

on the second floor,
in this body box room.

They say they get a lot
of activity in that area,

but we need to kind of
blank-slate it,

and just see what we can get.

Because we don't know
who we're dealing with.

The hospital is huge.

Thousands of people
could have died here.

And, you know, how do you tackle
something like that?

So, we just need to investigate,

see if we get any interaction,
and see if that can help us

guide what our research
will be tomorrow.

Bruni: This is
the emergency room.

This is where the body box is.

Do we try the spirit box
in here?

We definitely should.

Bruni: We really listen
when people tell us

that certain techniques
work in certain areas.

Ronnie said that if a woman
sat alone in the body box,

you would get better results.

So, we caught something
on the dvr.

Whoa.

Somebody just said,
"get the **** out."

berry: We're alone
in this massive old hospital

where there are reports
of a dog-like shadow

creeping in the hallways,

and people being
physically attacked.

Now, something
is going after amy.

Oh, god.

Seriously.

Berry:
What happened?

Something just fully, like,
stroked the side of my head.

I don't... I don't want
to do this anymore.

I'm just getting...

I don't like the feeling
in here at all.

Okay. So...

Berry: There...
I mean, he was right.

He was?
Yeah. It was really active.

Really?
Yeah. Very much so.

So, I started off by saying,
"speak to her."

and you said, "okay."

and then I said, "my name
is adam, and this is amy."

and you said, "adam."

I said, "can you tell me
how you died?"

you said, "murder"
immediately after.

And then, you said,
"stop him."

and I was like,
"who? Stop who?"

I will say, the face thing
was so weird.

Like, it was like...
it wasn't, like, a mean touch,

but it was a lingering.

It was very, like,
like just like

this whole, like, right down.

And I was... it just...
it freaked me out.

So, something was talking to us.

Something was interacting
with us,

and it was messing with you.

And I don't know
if it was male or female.

But murder was this situation.

It was angry at times,
almost like...

Like whatever we're doing...
it was just weird.

I felt like I was
talking to somebody.

You know when you know? Like,
I felt like I was talking to somebody.

Like you were... yeah.
You were having a conversation.

Yeah.

And I didn't get any solid,
like, name or gender.

But you got information, though,

that we can use later.
Because you got "murder."

and so, this has always been
a pretty small town.

Right.

So, it's a matter of,
"okay. Let's find a murder

that was somehow connected
to the hospital,

and then, use that information.

In those sessions,
we always look for answers

to happen directly after
the question is asked.

And that's what
was happening here.

We think maybe we were speaking
with a murder victim

who is not very happy with us.

Yes, we've gotten evidence.
Yes, the place is haunted.

But still, we need to know
who is here, and why.

And we need to get those answers

that ronnie is hoping for
in all of this.

Berry: Amy and I are going to
the beene-pearson public library

so that we can research history
on the property

where the old south pittsburg
hospital sits...

...And possibly any tragedies
in the area

that might relate
to any activity

that they're experiencing.

Bruni:
What did you find?

There's nothing I'm finding
that says

there was a plantation on
or near the property, ever.

I just can't verify it.

I mean, and also, that area
where they are wasn't...

it was very... pretty populated
from an early time.

There's not really room for
a rolling plantation there.

Okay. So, as far as,
like, things that could

lead to a haunting there,
potentially.

I mean, there's a ton of people
who died there, clearly.

Right.

John edward in 1992,
he died from a traffic accident.

Another one... carrie long.
She was 98.

She died in south
pittsburgh hospital.

Here's something
kind of disturbing.

Well, the original doctors
who founded the hospital...

...He was at the hospital
in 1964, doing a shift,

and his wife was found shot
in her bed.

Can you tell me how you died?

Murder?

Yeah. Her name was
carolyn havren.

Whoever killed mrs. Havren
knew the layout of the home

and everything about
the movements of the family.

The bedroom in which she was
killed appeared untouched,

and her jewelry was intact,

causing investigators
to discount robbery as a motive.

So, dr. Havren called home
to make a routine check.

And his 8-year-old
picked up the phone,

and he went to
go check on his mom

because she wasn't awake yet.

And found her dead in bed.
Oh, god.

Yeah.
That's terrible.

Did they find out who did it?

I don't know
that it was ever solved.

I mean, I wonder if her body
was taken to the hospital.

Maybe in the body box?
I wonder.

I would assume so.

I mean, I guess all the stuff
that we found here

we'll just take back
to the investigation.

I mean, there's a lot of names.

There's a lot of deaths.
It's a hospital.

Yeah, I mean,
it's more info than we had.

Alright. Let's go.

Try it all out.

Berry: Amy and I were able to
uncover a lot of deaths, clearly,

because it's a hospital.

But there was one in particular
that stuck out to us,

which was the murder
of one of the doctor's wives.

Who knows? A tragic accident
creates crazy energy,

and that energy can
maybe manifest into

what they are seeing.

Do we think a plantation
was there, at any point,

that burnt down?

Not at this moment, because we
have no facts to back that up.

So, tonight, we're gonna take
all of this information,

and we're gonna use it
in our investigation.

And hopefully,
something there recognizes

some of the information
that we're talking about.

that we got all of

Yesterday, we were interacting
with someone who was murdered.

and it looks really interesting,
and it only happened once.

she spends time here.

I don't like her.

She's kind of sadistic.

Berry: Night one was
extremely active.

Tonight has been
pretty quiet... until now.

We just caught something
on the dvr

in a different part
of the hospital.

So, watch here.

Something enters this space.

It's hard for us to see,

but it makes an impression
on the camera.

You'll see subtle movement.

It's coming down the hallway,
and then, it goes into this.

It literally lights up,
and goes into that.

Whoa.

And this is the same place
where ronnie saw the nurse?

Yes. Right here.
She walked, and she walked...

And she walked into that door.

And it didn't do it again.

There's no other moments
in the entire night

where something
like that happened.

Well, I just think what's
really cool about is it goes

literally the same direction
as the nurse he saw,

and into the same room.

Okay. Let's go up there,

and see if we can
experience this shadow.

Yeah.

Let's bring the flux.
Let's bring the sls.

Amy and I are gonna investigate
on the third floor,

and focus our energies
on these crazy shadow figures

that they have seen,

as well as an apparition
of this, like, misty figure.

And I want to see
this dog-crawler thing.

We're gonna try
to get information

from anyone who's up there
that can tell us who they are

and why they are in this space.

So, what if we split up, and
made ourselves more vulnerable?

Because when they
have these experiences,

everyone is alone.

Bruni: Yeah. And especially
'cause it does prefer women.

because they say that people,

when they're more vulnerable up
here, is when they see things.

It definitely feels weird.

and I don't believe it.

I just heard a knock.

It was like a boomp.

just saw something

They'll get real jittery, and,

he's talking to me
inside my head

bruni: Adam and I are separated
on the top floor

of the south
pittsburgh hospital,

and I don't think we're alone.

But yeah, there's just a shadow
on the right side.

It literally came out of
the maternity ward.

It was like...

Up to here, peeking out.

Hey, adam.
- Hmm?

I saw the shadow.

I said "I'd like to see
this 7-foot shadow,"

and I saw something
look out of one of these.

It was like a shoulder
and a head...

- Weird.
- ...Like peeking out.

But here,
let me play you the evp,

and see what you think it says.

I can't understand what it says.

What's that say?

Berry:
It's three syllables.

"let's do it."

and then, I see
a shadow come out.

I mean, I did... I hear a knock.

Yeah, I heard a knock, too,
in this side room.

I heard, like, a ping...
like, on a...

Yeah.
It was on metal.

Yeah.

Think of it this way...
if it says "let's do it,"

it is telling you, "okay.
I'm gonna show you myself."

so, it knows how
to manifest itself.

that's what it says.

No.

But we saw the same thing
they've experienced.

a, it's intelligent.

B, it knows how to
show itself to us.

So, it's bizarre.
It's odd.

It knows what we're doing.

It knows how to
get our attention.

But we've not gotten solid
answers or names of individuals.

So, we have to keep digging,

and trying to figure out
who this person is.

I mean, or really,

even if it is a person,
like what it is, what is it?

today, we decided to use chip
to our advantage.

And so, he came in not knowing
anything about the building,

where we were,
the history of it... nothing.

Chip's kind of like
a bloodhound for us,

letting us know
where there's a hot spot.

And hopefully, he can kind of
hone in on that energy,

and point us
in the right direction.

There's a lot of ground
to cover here,

so we'll just kind of

'cause it's 68,000 square feet.

Yeah, it's pretty big.

And there may be a certain areas
we want you to focus on

more than others,
but this is it.

I mean, you can kind of
have at it,

that actually had walked

of mercy and healing.

But she kind of gets a kick
out of seeing people sick.

And I felt a push

that we had once before

that manifested as big?

This guy comes across as being

I don't know if he's a doctor,
but he did work here.

It's just not happening.

You can intimidate...
or try to... all you want to,

but nobody's gonna run from you.

He just said
"you'll be sorry."

Nurse.

Bruni:

In this area

ronnie: Where we're standing right
now, where one of my investigators

was actually pushed
up against the wall.

Berry: The three things
that chip talked about the most

were spirit of a woman...
a nurse who wasn't very nice.

A man who also
was not very nice.

And then, he picked up on

this really creepy feeling
in the body box.

But he didn't pick up on anyone
in the space.

So, I think our focus tonight
is gonna be on the third floor,

and then, hopefully,
we'll be able to find out

who is here in this hospital.

Tonight we're gonna be heading
to the third floor with chip.

And so, we're hoping that maybe,
with the assistance of chip,

we can kind of hone in on
that shadow figure upstairs

and the nurse upstairs.

We definitely want to get
to the bottom

of what's happening up there.

walk through this door, here.

the shadow thing
that's crawling on the wall,

it could be an aggregor.

Bruni: We've been interacting
with the entities

inside the old
south pittsburg hospital,

to speak with us.

He was trying

bruni: We brought chip

because they
can't hide from him.

that's a fair response,

because you probably didn't know
that he could see you.

Did that shock you?

Also, I don't know
if you're aware,

but the reason ronnie
bought this building

is because he was so impressed
when he saw you.

You should be proud of that.

she didn't want to talk to us.

Mm-mnh.

Let's head to the first floor,
and talk about this.

Okay.

And investigator's work
is never done.

so, what you haven't...
what we have not told you

is that one of the reports
they've been getting

is, like, a weird
shadow-dog creature thing

on the other floors,

that crawls, like,
on the walls, and stuffs.

Three people have seen it.
We have not seen it.

We've not seen it.

That's a very compelling story.

Bruni: Mm-hmm.

I don't pick any of that up.

Berry:
Here's the thing, though.

If this shadow thing
that's crawling on the wall

is anything,
it could be something

that's sort of like an aggregor,

something that gets created
by constant investigation.

This is a place that attracts

all types of
paranormal investigators,

from people who
are super experienced at it,

to thrill-seekers who come in,
and they just start, like,

yelling and,
you know, provoking,

wanting something to happen.

And they bring that energy
in the space.

And then, things like that are
kind of born of it, you know.

And so, I think that is what we
have, here, with that creature,

which is why we're not
experiencing it.

There were a few things
that we can corroborate.

Some sort of shadow
moving down the hallway,

like the nurse did that he saw.

She was like, "show me yourself.

And we got an evp says,
"let's do it."

what?

The only other thing
is that male...Person.

It kind of feels like
he's not really interested

in participating in any of this.

I think this building has
multiple spirits in it,

and I think they come and go.

I think there are some
that are more prominent,

like that
shadow figure upstairs,

and the nurse upstairs.

It would make sense that those
spirits would not really want

to communicate with us directly.

You know, they have no reason
to reach out to us.

They're not looking
to solve anything.

There's no unresolved
issues there.

They're just very much enjoying
being in this space,

and that's it for them.

So, I think we're gonna
probably have to educate ronnie

on those two spirits,

and just kind of
give him some guidance

on how we think investigations

should be handled here
from here on out.

The first thing we're gonna do
when we get back here

tomorrow morning is dig through
our surveillance cameras.

Maybe we'll catch
some more evidence overnight.

go into some history

that we found out
right off the bat.

So, we were...
we tried to nail down

this history of a plantation
having stood here before.

What actually stood here before
was just kind of woods,

and it didn't even become part
of the town of south pittsburg

until, like, the late 1800s.

There was no plantation home.

Basically, what that means is,
we can't corroborate

there being a plantation,
a plantation fire.

Then, that really
has nothing to do with

the haunting and the building.

Exactly.
And that's good, too,

because you have so many people
coming in to investigate.

They can go away from that,
and start trying to nail down

who is actually in the building,

because there are definitely
spirits in the building.

Oh, yeah.

Jb talked about seeing
the crawled around the ceiling.

And while we didn't see anything
crawl on the wall,

we did capture some really
great stuff on the dvr.

So, this is,
like, 6:06.

It sort of comes out of
this doorway, goes to the right.

Ronnie: Wow.

That's, like, an amazing catch.

Isn't that insane?

That's awesome.

It kind of has
the shape of a of a dog.

But, you know, what is it?

I don't know.
We just caught it on camera.

Chip picked up on
a shadow figure

that stayed on the third floor.

Said he presents is very tall,
whoever this person is.

He didn't give us
any identifying information.

Chip also picked up on
a female... a nurse, he said...

also on the third floor.

And we got some activity

that correlated
with those entities, as well.

I'm just gonna let it play,

and then, you tell me
if you notice anything.

Wow.

That's exactly the same path

that the nurse had the night
that I had that experience.

Chip didn't get anything
super specific,

but it does seem to feel like
they've worked here.

They definitely have
an attachment to the building,

like they're just going
about their business.

That's just...
I mean, that's cool.

So, in the body box,
as I was sitting there,

I felt like a hand just go down
the whole side of my face.

We brought up a bunch
of names that we knew.

Nothing kind of clicked
with that.

Yeah. So, I think that,
in the long run,

what's great about this space

is that you guys kind of have
an ongoing investigation, here.

And it's also very important,
as people investigate,

to give them, like, kind of,
like, a code of conduct...

like, you know,
obviously no provoking,

you know, no bringing up things
that never even happened here.

Because they start
getting anxious.

They start getting restless.

When you have so many people
in a space,

focusing on experiencing
something dark or negative,

or talking about dark, negative
things that happened in a space,

that energy kind of infuses
into the building itself.

So, that's really...
that's really what we think

you just need to kind of
instill here going forward.

Okay.

And so, the more that you
kind of bring out the positive,

and tell these stories,

I think these spirits
will start being so comfortable

they'll start telling you
more about themselves.

encouraged ronnie,

making sure his investigators
follow a code of conduct

when they come in, that they
don't bring up misinformation.

You know, we just...
we just find that,

especially in a space like this,

that is just dedicated to only
paranormal investigation,

you want to make sure
that all that effort and energy

they're putting in this space
is positive,

because, very quickly,
it could take a dark turn.

After that's kind of further
implemented and continued,

I don't think you're going to
see this kind of crawler thing

they've seen a few times.

And that, I think, is going to
change the space dramatically,

so they can kind of cohabitate
better in the future.
