that we will never
fully understand.

our credibility, our reputation,

working alongside
the most renowned professionals

You know, Aaron, we've done
a lot of ghost adventures.

We've done pretty much
every location you can think of,

except for one.

We've never truly investigated
a haunted old amusement park.

Oh, my God.

And I know that there's one
that means a lot to you

because you grew up there

and you had a lot
of strange experiences there,

you and your family.

And, Aaron, we're here.

We're here at the
Enchanted Forest amusement park

near Salem, Oregon.

There's one thing I think is
gonna make you really excited.

What's that?

We've got the entire 20-acre
amusement park to ourselves.

Yeah!

You came here
as a little child.
Yeah.

And you have memories
of that.
Yeah.

Actually,
it stuck with me.

The reason why we're here

isn't just for Aaron to
revisit his childhood,

although that's such a cool
piece to this investigation.

But the real reason
that we're here is

this place
really is enchanted.
Yeah.

The owner has invited us
to his park,

which is now closed
for the season

because unexplainable events
have been reported here.

Could this establishment
be cursed?

Or might it sit on a portal
to another dimension?

Roger Tofte conceived
of this theme park

while on a family vacation
in 1964.

He quickly returned home,
purchased this 20-acre hillside,

and set out on
the extraordinary task

of building this park by hand,

one bag of cement at a time.

Some people have described

Roger's obsessive desire
to build

as bordering on madness.

After seven long years,

the park would finally open
to the public.

It was August 8, 1971.

Look at this place.

This is like
when you were little

and you read
all those nursery rhymes.

And there was always something
about those nursery rhymes

that scared you

and they still scare you
to this day,

whether it be the creepy
animal-looking people

or, like,
the Hansel and Gretel.

And just walking in here,

there's kind of a medieval
meets "Lord of the Rings"

kind of feel.

It truly is in the forest.

There's huge trees, there's
lots of cool little hills

and everything you walk up.

Who is this?

That's the haunted house.

This place is every
child's nightmare.

[ Laughs ]

Are you kidding me?

ZAK: It has been said
by many old-timers that

well before this park
was ever built,

a mysterious house
stood right here,

where this haunted attraction
now resides.

What makes this so disturbing

is the fact that
there has never been a record

of any home
ever having been built here.

Do you feel the energy
in here is threatening?

It definitely is
anxiety-inducing.

Ashley is the granddaughter
of Roger Tofte.

Inside here,
it's just terrifying.

Yeah, it was --

And this doesn't
happen to you

in any other, like,
haunted house attraction?

I don't go to a lot
of haunted houses,

probably because of this one,
but the ones I've been in,

I've never had
the problem.

I've never felt
what I felt in here.

Would you describe it
as, like, an energy?

It feels overwhelming.

Like, you panic?
Yeah.

Definitely, there's
immediate anxiety,

like, walking in there
or even thinking about it.

when you go into
the haunted house here that --

ZAK: Suddenly, I feel a hand
grab me by the arm.

Dude, something just grabbed
my elbow underneath here.

I swear to God.

But it wasn't over here.
It was, like, under here.

That was cool, dude.

AARON: Probably.
That was awesome.

This is cool.

I swear to God,
I know what I felt.

Someone or something
has clearly attempted

to stop me
from continuing through

this vintage haunted attraction.

It's like an old fun house
haunted house,

like in the 1970s.

It's scary because it's still
set back in that time.

As we begin walking
down this staircase,

it seems as though
whatever grabbed my elbow

is still following us.

Whoa, come here,
come here, come here.

Ashley, come here.

Do you feel this right here?
Just came up on me.

Yeah. Yeah, it got really cold
all of a sudden.

Do you feel that?
But it's moving.

It's moving.
It's moving.

You could tell
it was moving.

I could tell when I reached
for it, it would move,

but I could move
and feel it.
It moved down, right?

Yeah.

It's right here now.

Yeah, I felt it,
I felt it.

Yeah, I just wanted
somebody else to know that --

But it was here,
it went down here,

then it went over here.

Then it moved down here.
It's about this high.

A little kid maybe.

And I'm freezing
right now.

Who or what
is reaching out to us?

Where did they come from,
and why are they manifesting

in a haunted house
in this theme park?

So many mysteries to be solved
in an enchanted land.

Our next stop is
the Challenge of Mondor,

where another park employee
has become extremely affected.

So you are the ride operator
for this ride?

Yes.
Okay.

How long you been
doing this for?

Six seasons.

What is this ride?
What is the theme of it?

Basically it's laser tag,
"Lord of the Rings" style.

Okay.
Yeah, you just go around
shooting targets

and building up points.
Okay.

Tell me a little bit about
your first strange experiences,

because I know
some of them

actually affected you
physically, as well.

Mm-hmm. It was 2016,
and it was spring break.

And I opened the ride
by myself.

And I was getting
the push broom

because I was gonna
sweep the track

before I opened the ride.

And I went
to go reach for it,

and I thought I heard
footsteps behind me.

And then
five seconds later,

it's like I just got hit
with this, like, energy,

like, right through me,
and it made me really dizzy.

And then I just
got the chills.

And then later that day,
I heard the same --

what sounded like footsteps --
and I looked behind me,

and I kind of braced myself
for it.

And it was actually,
like, more intense.

What was more intense?

The wave that kind of
went through me, you know?

Does it feel like an energy
that is going through you?

Yeah, yeah, and it was --

Yeah, I mean, it was
just unexplainable.

And also, in the morning,

when I just do, like,
a run-through with the ride,

we have infrared cameras,

and we watch the ride
on the display.

When I would videotape that,
I would go back and hit "pause,"

and I would go really slow,

and then that's when I could
see, like, these shapes.

Now, see, if you look --
What the heck?

This is really interesting.

These photos, I think,
are really compelling.

This is really bizarre.

Okay, so what I'm gonna do is,
I'm gonna go to the next one.

Here it is again.

It's now changed shape.

Very unusual.

Now, we'll go to the next one,
and there it is again.

It is still there,
it's still manifested.

And now it's completely
changed shape,

and it's glowing
at the top.

This is really compelling.

I've never seen
anything like that.

That, to me,
is the most compelling,

because
it's changing shape,

you have it
in sequential photos,

and you have multiple photos
of it.

[ Evil laughter ]

...my powers to be destroyed.

So we've reached the spot

where Chris has captured
those anomalies.

And I'd say they're hovering
about this --

this high off the ground,

The way I'm feeling now,
I haven't felt this since I --

since I left.

I just feel really light,

I never anticipated
entering into a theme park

deep in the woods

would actually be climbing
into a new dimension.

Things that are occurring here
are truly strange,

something that could only
be written in a fairy tale.

What happened to you?

I was petrified.

That's creepy.

I don't trust this place.

ZAK: Over 200 years ago,

Western settlers were advancing
into the Willamette Valley.

In 1846, just north of where
the Enchanted Forest now sits,

Battle Creek became the first
of many violent conflicts

between
the Native American tribes

and the settlers
that would rage on for years.

Is it possible
these ancient aggressions

have left this land cursed?

And could that energy
be responsible

for the manifestations
in this park?

AARON: This is cool,
you know?

It's got all your
nursery rhymes.

This is what I imagined!

These little children here,
talking to the witch,

believe that this witch
really does live here,

and if you believe
so much about something

and multiply that by
over a million children,

this becomes true.

Over 30 years ago,

Aaron and his sister
took a photo

in this same exact spot.

And my sister is right here,
and my grandma's right there.

Look at this.

Could the residual energy
from Aaron's childhood memories

bring about a more intense
paranormal experience

during our lockdown?

help reignite this?

8 years old,

7, 8 years old.

Aaron went ahead of me,
and he's walking through,

and I felt this
on my shoulder.

You were petrified.
I was petrified.

And so, I'm like -- I walk
a little bit further,

and the same thing happens.
Oh, second time.

Second time.
Same shoulder, right here.

So I thought that maybe,
like, some little kid

was, like, scared
and behind me,

but both times when
I looked behind me,

no one was there.
This is fun!

Mommy,
I'm scared of the witch.

ZAK: Did the fears
of the countless children

who have passed
through this park...

It's scary, Mama.

...manifest into something dark,

that may have wanted to
play with Aaron and Amy?

[ Whispering ]

[ Giggling ]

Because we're investigating
the entire amusement park,

I want to see everything
that we can.

Maybe there's something
in this forest

that takes the imagination
of children

and turns it into reality.

AARON: Jack and Jill
fell down the hill.

Look at how just creepy
this is, you know?

Look at the moss growing
out of his socks.

Yeah, Jack and Jill
went up the hill

to fetch a pail of water.
And Jack fell down,
broke his crown,

and you know the rest.

What is in there?

You -- We probably won't fit,
I don't think,

but it goes all the way through
a tunnel out the end.

look at the trees.

I didn't see that.

Creepy little
bunny heads.

I don't trust this place, man.
There's something to it.

There's something in
the imagination of this place.

This is the witch's mouth.

Oh, look at that witch.

You walk into it.

Oh, my God.

You're gonna walk in
and then slide out.

This was the most awesomest
thing as a kid.

Look at that --
just the crooked nose,

and the mouth,
you go into it.

We can play forever.

That's awesome.
It's just so creepy.

Well, imagine being
a little kid.

forever and ever
and ever and ever.

That's terrifying.
Terrifying.

I was a kid, I was like --

Look at his face.
And this scared me.

I don't know why
there's wire here

and just this weird hall.

It's just scary.

And this.
Oh, God, this guy.

Creeped me out.
What the hell?

Something is not right here.

I don't think we'll ever
get into the mind

of the builder of this place.

I think only he can,
and maybe he doesn't understand

all the visions that he's had
to build this place.

Is this a portal?

Could this door right here
be the actual door

for where spirits
cross in and out of?

Lots of mysteries here.

And all these mysteries revolve
around scaring children.

AARON: This is a total
different vibe

than going through
during the day.

We are getting ready
to be locked down

inside 20 acres of
an amusement park --

a haunted amusement park
called the Enchanted Forest --

because it actually is
inside a huge forest.

This forest is from
a fairy tale.

And in this fairy tale,

there's a lot of different
scary witches and creatures

that were made up
from imagination.

However, inside
this amusement park

are very real proof
and evidence

of spirits, of entities,

and perhaps these same creatures
that have become a reality

from the imagination
of millions of children,

including this man,
Aaron Goodwin,

and his sister,
who are still terrified

from things that happened
to them in here,

supernatural things
when they were children.

compelling visual evidence

a lot of very, very strange
anomalies in here --

shape-shifting,
hovering off the ground --

the first part of it here
with the fairy tales

and just listen in and see if we
can't hear something out there.

This is a total different vibe

than going through

It was like hummingbird wings
were in my ear.

Yeah, but it kind of
knocked my vision out first --

or my sight -- or my hear--

Now I got chills.

that new device?
Yeah.

Billy will use a new device
engineered by Gary Galka

called the Mel meter,

which uses thermal sensors
to detect heat and cold,

indicated by red and blue
directional lights.

Did you just do something
to my ear?

I'm aiming it
directly at you.

[ Meter beeping ]

That's me -- red.
That's you.

So I'm gonna move over here
to show me moving over here.

Now, what's the blue?
Why is there cold?

And I'm gonna go over here
to show my redness.

Right.
Heat is following me
over here.

Did you see the blue?
There is something
on the left of me.

There's something here where
my -- it affected my ear.

As I am demonstrating
how the red lights

will follow my body heat,

the device detects a blue cold
air mass to my left,

which is the same spot
where I just had

this strange buzzing event
with my left ear.

Can you come here
to the left side of me?

Over here.

That's just my hand
going over there.

See there, see?
Boom, boom.

And I just felt
a cold draft of wind.

And it was just
one L.E.D. of cold,

which means it's
floating around.

On cue,
this cold air mass returns,

which is indicated
by the blue light.

However, this is just
not enough evidence

to prove there's anything
paranormal quite yet.

It's weird,
nothing on there now.

You can see as I'm sweeping,

there is no changes
in the temperature.

It's all baselined.

It's all even
ambient temperature.

Now, see, once I scan
over to Billy,

it's all red lights
as I pass him.

And that was Billy.

We'd like to play

JAY: Should I keep
getting that X cam?

ZAK:
As Jay sets his camera down

in order to go back to retrieve
an X camera from base camp,

Aaron ventures inside
of the gingerbread house,

at which time something
really freaks him out.

[ Rustling ]

AARON: What was that?

Oh, my God, dude, oh, my God.

Oh, my God, bro.

Ohh.

Oh, my God.

So you were going
to get that camera, right?

Yeah.

I stop in here,
I completely stop,

and it sounds like --
I thought it was an animal

because the leaves were moving,
you heard footsteps,

and then it just, like --
I took off.

But I can see both angles
of the door.

Nothing came out.

I thought it was an animal,
like a cougar or something,

that was in here
and I was gonna be eaten.

Geez.
Oh, my God.

What?
Come here.

Look in here.

Hansel and Gretel, where she
would put them in the fridge.

Put them in the oven
to eat them.

I didn't put that together
until you just said that.

Like, what if this whole
fairy-tale world comes alive

so kids come in here
in fear of getting eaten?

Exactly.
I felt that.

It's like that fear
and that imagination

is what manifests
everything here.

Dude, I'm telling you.

You hear me stop,

and then you hear,
like [imitates rustling]

and then you hear me go, "Oh!"

I thought it was a wild animal
gonna eat me.

ZAK: As Billy and I investigate
the Challenge of Mondor ride

here in the Enchanted Forest,

we continue to follow
these transient cold air masses

that contain high levels
of electromagnetic energy.

We make our way over to the
notorious Altar of Darkness,

where we finally capture
something visual.

BILLY: This thing is creepy
as hell, man.

I know.

This unexplained
mist-like anomaly

shoots into frame
as a singular orb.

It then splits off
to form two orbs of light

before a separate anomaly
appears to start glowing

as the other two orbs
fly past it,

heading towards the altar.

Oh, my God,
that's scary, dude.

Hey, this feels really
different right in here.

These things are staring
right at me in my infrared.

of the Mondor ride.

a swirl of energy.

because the fear of you.

It's like...

Look, I'm even closer.

That picked up some kind of
strange frequency or something.

That shouldn't

That was weird.

And then I just saw you standing
over there for a moment.

Two blue lights --

I think it's flying around,

Okay, I'm trying

That's where I saw -- [ Gasps ]
And it just disappeared.

All the bars lit up.

Blue, the whole thing!

I saw that thing standing!

I'm all chilled up right now.
I think it's around me.

AARON: When I was a kid,
I came through here

and these pictures
really kind of spooked me.

Are you the one that lives here?

Zak was in here earlier
and had a good point
about this door.

Did something conjure itself up?

Is this a doorway to anything?

[ Gasps ] What was that?

and then I heard,

ZAK: When we play back Aaron's
parabolic microphone audio,

he is absolutely right.

There is a faint whisper
that sounds like someone saying,

"Look at you."

Do that again.

Sounded like a door hinge
going [imitates hinge creaking]

What was that?
Did you just say something?

No, I was just about to,
but, no.

I used to be so afraid of you.

I am completely chilled!

ZAK: We're just south
of Salem, Oregon,

at the Enchanted Forest
amusement park.

It is now time for
Aaron, Billy, and myself

to investigate
the haunted house,

one of the oldest attractions
at the theme park,

built in the early '70s.

Jay will continue investigating
the grounds by himself.

We walked through here
during the day,

and during the day,
it was terrifying.

It's like an old fun house,
scary fun house,

but it is a real house,

and in this real house
are real spirits.

The staff refuse
to even go inside.

And, earlier,
during our interviews,

we felt a cold mass of energy,

with a witness,
come down the stairs.

AARON: Ready?

[ Door creaks ]

When I was a kid,
I used to be so afraid of you.

The whole haunted house,
it would be right here,

I'd feel you standing
and just watching us walk by.

I didn't see you. I sensed it,
I knew you were here.

BILLY: Shh.
Did you hear that?

ZAK: As Aaron and I
make a funny joke,

we are about to be shocked
beyond belief

as to what is about
to suddenly appear

before our very eyes.

Whoa, whoa, Aaron, look!

AARON: What?
Look, Aaron.

Oh...

This absolutely incredible

I don't think I've ever

having a conversation
with a spirit

with the same exact voice,

just answering question

There was a female,
and then a male would come in

every now and then.

But it was that same female
for 15 minutes.

It feels like every single bit
of energy inside of me

has literally been taken from me
in order to do that,

in order for that spirit
to communicate that long.

This all started
when I started feeling that

that ice-cold.

And, to me,
if I could visualize it,

it was a spirit holding on
to the back of my neck

that entire time,

taking all my energy directly
out of my spinal chord.
