The crew heads to Mokelumne Hill, CA, to investigate one of the state's oldest operating hotels. A devastating fire and the town's violent history has left a dark presence in the historic building that threatens the safety of employees and guests.

We are headed to a place
called Mokelumne Hill,
a very old gold-mining
boomtown.
We are going to investigate
the Léger Hotel.

The owner/founder of
this hotel, Mr. Léger,
was found murdered
in Room 7 in 1879.
♪♪
And it gets darker.
Down in the basement,
there's remnants
of the old jail
and even
an old tunnel system
where a very dark presence
has growled
and even attacked people.

Let's just say there's a very
evil presence here, guys,
and there it is
right there,
Hotel Léger.
-Whoa.
-That's cool.
ZAK: In 1851,
George Léger planted his
flag on Mokelumne Hill
when he opened the
Hotel de France.
But after several fires
ravaged the town,
he rebuilt and purchased
the adjacent vacant courthouse
and county jail
to future-proof
his new establishment,
the Hotel Léger,
but in doing so,
he unknowingly inherited
a dark strand of energy,
which today, has overrun
this location
and is the reason
we've been summoned here
to investigate.

The doorway over here,
off my right shoulder,
leads to the

There's a woman inside there,
her name's Tammy.
Tammy connected

that could indicate the reason
why a couple of spirits

ZAK: After Aaron receives
the word "kill,"
he reacts to something
touching him,
at which time
the strange,
unexplained light anomaly
appears behind him.

For some reason, I knew
I was gonna get this room.

something touching my hand.

I quickly grab a new device
invented
by engineer Gary Galka
called the Mel TIR,
which measures
fluctuations in temperature
using a thermal sensor.
And as I quickly
baseline the device,
it immediately begins picking up
an unexplained cold air mass
that's moving to my left.
Right now that is very
close to the device.
Solid cold air mass,
and I can feel it.
Now it just went over
to my left hand side.
If you saw the blue lights
went towards the left,
that means the air mass went
from in front of it over here.
And over here right now,
it is cold.
So I'm gonna point my device
over to the left over here.
See if I can follow it.
As I'm detecting this
cold air mass around me,
I capture an incredible
light anomaly
shooting directly
down towards me.
I believe this is the
spirit that I am detecting.

the blue air mass,
but it's far away.
That was incredible.
The ice-cold air mass
that I felt touch my hand,
this thermal sensor detected it,
and it was very close
to the device
because both axises

I feel as though if I
continue trying to sleep
inside of this room,
I will be putting myself
or the guys in danger.
It is a known occurrence
for men to have
sudden fits of rage
while inside these rooms.
And I believe what is
happening to me right now,
as well as these incredible
Spirit Box voices I captured,
is proof of this.
I request to be unlocked
from the hotel
so that I can leave
the investigation.
And as I'm inside the car
heading to our hotel,
something terrifying happens.

ZAK: I wanted to quickly
tell everybody
just some things that happened
after the investigation.
I had to kind of get out
a little earlier than you guys.
I had to leave.
You know, we're up
in the top of the mountain,
and it's about six miles
down to the bottom.
And out of the black,
dark woods,
a lady comes
out of nowhere...
and literally tries to
jump in front of our car.
And we almost went off a cliff
on that side of the highway.

We ended doing a U-turn
to try and find this lady
because it looks like
she was screaming,
someone was trying to kill her
or something.
And there was nobody.
Right after that happened,
as we're looking for her...
I keep getting these vibes,
like I need to check on Zak.

It's on my mind now,
if what we saw --
if that was a spirit trying
to cause an accident.
