Jasmine writes to Nev and Max asking for help for a "friend." But they're perplexed when Jasmine drops a bombshell revelation: they've helped her friend before. Who is Jasmine's mysterious friend and how do Nev and Max know him?

- Jose, after he left y'all
show, he was doing good.

but then he met somebody

on Facebook two months ago,

and they got really serious.

They was talking.

He was falling for him

and just wouldn't
video chat him.

I personally felt like
it was a fake profile.

I tried to tell Jose

that I felt like he was
not who he was saying he was.

- I mean,
if anybody should know

they're being catfished,
it's Jose.

The guy was a catfish.

- He doesn't believe that
he might be getting catfished.

They talk about marriage,

I can't believe it.

We thought the show
was a wake-up call,

but maybe he hit snooze.
- Yeah.

[dramatic music]

[grunts]

- Hello.
- What up?

- Well, he's inside
waiting for you.

- Jose's inside?
- Yeah.

- Jose?
- Hey.

- [laughs]

- Oh, yeah, I got this haircut.

- I can't believe we're back.

- I don't get it, Jose.
What happened?

- When I last video chatted
with you guys, you know,

I had met somebody.

I'm kind of talking
to somebody right now.

- Someone you met
on the Internet?

- No, it was actually
one of the customers that

I met knocking on their door.
- Hey.

That relationship
didn't work out?

- It didn't work out,
and then boom,

that's where
Jay came in the picture.

[beeping]
After the show aired,

I've been getting
mad friend requests

just from different people.
- Okay, so you get

a friend request from Jay?
- From Jay.

[beeping]
So I asked him,

"You saw me on the show
'Catfish'?"

and he was like,
"No, I never seen the show."

He said that he found me
from mutual friends.

He kind of reminded me
of Danny, you know?

He didn't judge me
just like Danny didn't.

He actually sat down
and listened,

and I felt like
that's what I needed.

- Where did he say he was from?
- Pennsylvania.

- How quickly were you guys
talking on the phone?

- Right away.
He was going through

a lot of the same things
that I was going through.

He had a rough childhood.

His parents are religious,
so having to live

in the closet
for quite a while,

you know, a lot of the stuff
that we both went through,

you know, a lot of that matched.

He was very kind,

hard-working person,
family person.

He mentioned marriage.

That's what made me
fall for him.

This is all I ever wanted.

- But we don't need to tell you

the reality that people pretend.

- Questions started flowing
throw my head

'cause I tried to video chat
with him a couple of times,

and nothing happened.

He was always making an excuse,

and then out of nowhere
he stopped talking to me.

We haven't talked
in three weeks.

So I searched off his picture...

And he's not the guy
in the pictures.

- Yeah.

- And you didn't know

it's way embarrassing,

so what am I supposed to do?

The next morning I received
a phone call from a woman.

and it said, "Don't be calling
my phone late at night.

I do work early
in the mornings,"

so now my question is:
who is Jay?

Does he have a girl?
What's going on?

that you'll fall in love

with whatever guy
friends you on Facebook,

but for the time being,

I was sitting there being like,

this could totally work out."

calling out for help.

the brainwaves of Jay.

which is pretty frightening.

I'm feeling something.
- [laughs]

- Phew,
think I got some answers.

All right,
so Jose met this guy Jay,

right after a breakup
with his post-catfish boyfriend.

He's getting lots
of friend requests,

and of course, one of them
is this super-handsome,

hot guy, Jay.
Right away, boom,

sparks, texting,
talking all the time,

but two months go by,

and then all of a sudden
out of nowhere Jay...

[exhales]
Disappears.

Now, Jose has some suspicions,
image searches the picture,

and boom, he finds that
it's actually someone else,

so he knows the pictures
are a lie.

- Right.
- The weirdest thing is that

a week after he stopped hearing
from Jay,

he called Jay's phone...
[line ringing]

and a lady picked up and said,
"Please stop calling."

- Right.
- Jose is suspicious

that it could be
someone from his past,

could be Danny.

He's really been hurt by this.

- What is this, man?

Why would you do
something like that?

- We don't think
he's behind this,

but I just want to make sure
that there's no more doubt.

- Let's reach out to Danny.

[line ringing]

- Hello, Danny?
- Danny!

- Who is this?

- How is everything?

- Awesome.

- You won't believe
why we're calling.

- Remember your
old friend, Jose?

- Essentially, Jose has been
getting catfished,

and he thought maybe
it could have been you,

you know, getting revenge.

- That's what we were thinking.

"Hey, Nev and Max,
Jay told me he's 28,

and worked in construction.

in constructing lies.

not a good sign.

"He's not the guy in the photos,

but I love whoever
I am talking to."

- The fact that

suggests that he's

- Well, the truth is Jay
is not the guy in the pictures.

So we really only had the phone
numbers and the Facebook page,

so the first thing we did
was we looked up the number,

and it came back
registered to someone

named Anthony J [bleep].

We looked up to see if we could
find an Anthony J on Facebook,

and we only got this one page,

and it doesn't look like
it's related,

so we don't know who that is,
but one thing is for sure.

The area code
for both phone numbers

that he's had
since you've known him

are New York.
- Upstate New York.

- Not Pennsylvania,
so that would be weird

for someone living
in Pennsylvania--

- To get a new phone number
with a New York area code.

- Right, strange.
The next thing we did

was we went
to Jay's Facebook page.

The first thing
that seemed strange to us was

that most of
his friends are women.

- And a large majority
of these people

are from Jamestown, New York.

- Yeah, see?
Jamestown, New York.

- And then we just went to some
of his more recent posts,

and we went and saw, like,
who was liking the pictures

and who was leaving comments.

[Bleep] said, "You have
the most beautiful eyes,"

and Jay wrote back,
"Thanks, love."

That feels
a little bit like flirting,

so we reached out
to a bunch of them,

and we got a call
from this girl, Alea,

and this is where things started
to get a little sketchy.

Alea told us that,
similarly to you,

she got a friend request
from Jay.

He was very flirty,

and after, like, two days
he said to her,

"Move to California,
and we should be together."

She said, like, "That's crazy.

"I don't even know
who you are yet.

No thanks,"
but he was flirting with her,

and he told her
he lived in California.

- That's [bleep] nuts.
Like, it's [bleep] crazy.

- And why is he talking to girls
for two days

and then inviting them out
to California

when "A," he might
not be out there,

and B, he might not like girls?

- Right.
- What's going on?

- I mean, my question
is what are you trying to do?

Like, obviously,

or you're just bored
and don't have a life

and don't know what to do.

and he wasn't sure
why you stopped talking to him.

- [crying softly]

- I'm doing good.

- Just, like, kind of worried,

you know, 'cause now
I'm really getting a little,

you know, anxious,

like, to finally see
who this person is.

- I kind of kept thinking maybe

there's someone else involved,
like Jasmine.

After the episode aired,
you had a boyfriend,

and then that ended.

who saw that you were upset

and wanted to make sure

get depressed and fall apart
