Catfish: The TV Show (2012–…): Season 4, Episode 6 - Felipe & Jasmine - full transcript

A single father wants to settle down with his online love, but they have not met.

>> Here's the entrance.

[ominous music]

*

>> All right, get ready

for anything.

*

>> There you go.

A lookout.

[sighs]

What do you think

is gonna happen?

>> Wait.

I think you're about to

find out.

>> I'm a little confused.

>> Someone's getting out of

the passenger seat.

>> My intensity level

just shot up.

>> Do you know who

these people are?

What do you do in boxing

if someone comes out swinging?

>> Let's just agree--

>> Whoa!

>> Oh.

>> Season four!

>> We're here. We're back.

>> This is happening.

>> You've been unbelievably

busy.

Big-time Hollywood director

over here.

I think we need to discuss

the elephant in the room, okay?

Max's pants.

>> [laughs]

>> He's wearing a very--

like, handsome slacks.

Business on the bottom,

party on the top.

Did you have those pants

custom-made to match your hair?

Did they, like, draw samples of

your darker and lighter

gray hair and, like--

>> They thread them together.

>> [laughs]

>> What do we do?

I've totally forgot.

>> We got an email here

from Felipe.

Okay, you ready?

Hope my eyebrows look good.

"Dear Nev and Max,

I just turned 23 years old

and live in Calvert, Texas.

About eight months ago,

I saw pictures of a beautiful

girl online and knew I wanted to

get to know her more, and

luckily, she messaged me back.

She's the most beautiful girl

I've ever seen."

>> * Let me lie with you

* Inside your love

>> Get your hands off of me.

>> [laughs]

That's--that's--

that's very sweet.

>> It's sweet, but there's more

to life than beauty.

>> "I'm a dad, so meeting women

can really be hard sometimes.

But Jasmin accepts me for

who I am and says she can't wait

to meet my daughter one day.

She makes me feel very special."

>> * So you found someone

>> "She is 22 years old..."

>> Okay.

>> "And lives in Houston, Texas,

which is only a couple hours

away from me.

We're both pretty busy.

She works at a hotel,

and she is working toward

becoming a model."

>> Mm.

>> The fact that she's not

a model--

that's better than him saying,

like, "She's a model."

"Even with our busy schedules,

we message each other

all the time."

>> So there's a lot of messages.

>> "We have talked..."

>> All right.

>> "About meeting up..."

>> "We've talked about

meeting up."

But they haven't met up.

>> "But whenever it comes time,

she is all of the sudden

not available.

I'm not interested in a fling

with her.

I want an actual relationship.

Please help however you can.

Felipe."

>> "Felipe," period.

>> He's 23. She's 22.

That's a good start.

>> They're still young enough

so that if it doesn't work out,

it'll be okay.

>> I mean, I don't know why

you immediately think

it won't work out.

>> We don't have a good

track record.

>> Let's get him on,

see what he has to say.

[line trilling]

Felipe!

>> Yo.

>> What's going on?

>> What is Calvert like?

>> It's a pretty small town,

and everybody knows everybody

here.

>> Do you have a kid?

>> Yeah.

She'll be five in March.

>> both: Wow.

>> So Jasmin knows about you

being a dad and your daughter

and she's cool with it.

>> Yeah.

She said, "What happened

is what happened."

>> She's not judging you.

>> I tell her, like, a lot

of things that I wouldn't tell

just anybody.

She tells me stuff that I think

she can't tell nobody else.

And we just--when we talk,

it's just like--

like, she gets me,

so it's just--

everything just goes off.

It's just awesome.

>> * Flash your flood

* Set your fire

* You were born to overflow

>> Something about her just

make me feel like

I can be myself.

I can just be me--don't have

to worry about nothing.

>> * La, la, la, la, la, la

* La, la, la, la, la

* La, la, la, la, la, la

>> So then what's the deal?

>> Okay, I tried to meet up

with her a few times.

I won't hear a response for,

like, about a good, two, three,

four hours.

A few hours later, "Oh, I was--

I got busy at work.

I can't.

We'll have to try again

next time."

>> Now, when you say "talking,"

are you guys Facebook messaging,

or are you texting?

>> How do you talk?

>> Are you on the phone?

>> Just messaging

'cause she doesn't have a phone.

>> Felipe. Felipe.

>> Wait a second.

>> So you've never heard her

voice.

>> No.

>> What 22-year-old girl

who has a job...

>> And is a model.

>> Doesn't have a phone?

>> That--that's why I'm here.

>> I mean, clearly, you know

something seems a little off

with the whole thing.

>> Yeah, that's why I was just

like, "Okay, I want to find out

what's going on."

I want to get to the bottom

of this as soon as possible

because I'm in the process

of joining the military.

>> Oh, wow.

>> So with my basic training,

I want to make sure I have

someone--you know, pretty much

know that I have someone

to come home to.

And that way, I'll be able to

focus for what I'm out there

doing with my training or

wherever--wherever they send me.

I do have a feeling that this

could be the one that I end up

spending my life with, you know?

>> It's a big deal.

It definitely sounds like the

kind of situation that I think

we could be really helpful--

>> We can be of service here.

>> Yeah.

>> That'd be awesome.

>> All right, Felipe,

see you really soon, buddy.

>> Thanks, Nev.

>> Obviously, we know from

previous seasons, if you don't

speak on the phone,

big problems.

>> If he has never heard

her voice, it could be Jas-man.

[laughter]

All right, we better go.

>> * Taking more

* From the moment

>> Nev, does this feel like

the camerawork of

a feature film director?

>> I feel like a movie star.

>> You feel like a movie star?

You've always felt like

a movie star.

>> * What's gonna take you *

* Forward

* What's gonna pass you by *

>> Yeah!

>> A phoneless model.

She's phoneless.

It doesn't take a seasoned

catfish detective to say that

something's definitely up here.

Here we are.

>> See if we can help this kid.

Come on in.

>> [puffing]

>> Is that him?

Oh, man, that is him.

>> Get it.

Yep. Yep.

>> Raging catfish.

How you doing?

>> Good.

>> Don't let us interrupt.

>> Get over here.

All right.

Don't let him get in your head,

all right?

Just keep your feet moving.

Give him the one-two.

Go for the gut.

Now get in there!

Get in there!

>> [puffing]

>> Yes.

Go left.

Yep.

>> All right, cool.

Let's sit down

and take a load off.

>> You're fast.

I noticed that over there.

>> Yeah, I did track, football,

cross-country, wrestling.

I had a few scholarships

to play, but I got injured,

and I lost it all--

like, pretty much, like,

all the schools,

and gave that up and started

trying to find other ways

of providing for my family.

>> What's your family like?

>> We're actually pretty close.

We all live within

the same block.

We buy land, and we all built

our own houses on our land.

My sisters, they bought

their land, and they built

their houses there.

>> And do they have families?

>> Yeah.

And I bought me one,

and I'm ready to build a house

with my future wife and kids.

>> Wow, so you're already

sort of thinking about...

>> Yeah.

>> Settling down and...

>> Yeah.

>> Having a little house.

>> Even if it was just

a small house, but it would be--

it'd be our home.

>> Do you think that Jasmin

could be the person?

>> Yeah.

Me and her can build

a home together.

The way we talk, she sound like

she's down, you know?

>> Do you have a picture of her?

>> Yeah.

>> Okay.

>> All right, wait.

Hold on. Time-out.

Let's see this.

>> Whew.

Va-va-voom.

Cute.

>> Yeah, wow.

>> Wow. Oh, my God.

>> I mean, those boobs are

bigger than you.

>> Yeah.

>> How much of your attraction

to her has to do with the way

she looks versus, like,

the way you guys talk

and how you feel about her?

>> Like, I'm attracted to her,

like, very, but it's more--

I get more attracted

to the talking

once I find out

how the person is.

>> So what Jasmin represents

for you is, like, a major piece

in the sort of puzzle that

you're trying to put together

of your life.

>> Yeah.

>> That dream kind of involves

meeting this girl and making

sure she's legit.

>> Yeah.

>> And do your friends

and family--do they know

about Jasmin?

Are they skeptical?

>> A little bit.

>> Are you skeptical?

>> Yeah.

>> Yeah?

>> Like, just the simple fact

that she just won't even pick up

the phone and just say, "Hey."

>> Right.

>> You know, just let me

hear her voice.

Even if it's not her, and if

it's just another girl,

then I would be like,

"Okay, well, you know what?

We've built

this emotional relationship.

Let's see what we can do

with it."

>> We're pulling for you, but

we want to find out the truth,

whatever that is.

>> Cool.

>> All right, man.

>> All right.

>> Good to meet you.

>> Same here.

>> I think he's underplaying how

important her looks are.

But I really like this kid.

He's sweet.

He's got a sweet dream.

>> His life in the next

5, 10, 15 years is hinged on

a successful, strong

relationship.

But nothing about

his relationship with Jasmin

suggests that she is who

she says she is.

>> All right,

time to investigate.

>> It's been a little while.

>> Yeah.

>> Don't forget...

>> My fingers are

a little rusty.

>> I'm the captain.

>> [laughs]

We know how--

>> You're the notetaker.

>> But it takes longer when

you're searching.

>> No, you get to watch

and think while I'm doing

the grunt work, and then

you have these great ideas,

which are great, but only

because you've had the luxury of

sitting there observing.

>> [laughs]

>> So here's what we got.

We've got a guy, Felipe,

who thinks he could be in love

with Jasmin.

They've never spoken

on the phone.

He's starting to plan a future

with someone he has no idea

who they are.

>> He's literally "plotting"

this future.

>> Right.

>> The first thing we're clearly

going to do is prove or disprove

that the girl in the pictures

is the girl he's talking to.

>> So just looking at her

Facebook page,

right off the bat--let's see.

>> It's a lot of sexually

suggestive pictures.

>> Wow, 576 people liked this

picture she posted.

1,000 people liked this picture.

Wow, she gets a lot of,

like, attention.

>> Let's run an image search.

>> Here we go, first image.

>> There she is.

>> Paris Roxanne.

>> There's a Facebook page.

I mean, this feels like

a fake account too.

It's just tons and tons

of pictures.

>> Yeah.

>> Here, look.

"See more results

for Paris Roxanne."

Oh, man.

>> Whoa.

>> Look at this one.

"Paris Roxanne, public figure."

>> It's got the most likes out

of all of them.

>> Look, another one.

Public figure, 5,000.

Another one, different.

>> So she's a very faked person.

>> Right.

Instagram.

>> Oh, there's an Instagram.

>> It's got 132,000 followers.

>> Wow.

>> This looks like a real

Instagram account.

It's got pictures of her

with other people.

It's got some videos.

Let's do a Google search

for Paris Roxanne.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

What is this?

The Birdman's Vengeful Ghost.

"Last December,

Shelly Lynne Chartier

was accused of masterminding

an elaborate web scam."

>> "She began setting up fake

Facebook profiles for a wide

range of celebrities..."

>> "Including Paris Roxanne..."

>> Boom.

>> "A 17-year-old aspiring model

from just outside Los Angeles,

and even a 35-year-old

NBA player,

Chris 'Birdman' Andersen.

Both Andersen and Roxanne

believed they were sending

each other messages and starting

an intimate relationship,

but their messages were being

filtered through Chartier's fake

profile pages, which meant she

could manipulate any of their

messages, and she did, often.

Eventually, a meeting was

arranged between Andersen

and Paris Roxanne.

They spent a few days together

in Denver, had consensual sex,

and then Roxanne went home.

When the pair stopped

communicating, Shelly Lynne

lashed out like a scorned lover.

She blackmailed Andersen for

hush money by posing as

Roxanne's mother.

'I know what you did,'

she told Andersen.

The legal age of consent in

Colorado is 17.

Andersen knew he hadn't broken

any laws, but he decided

that a small payoff

was better than

a public relations fiasco,

so they agreed to send

a nominal fee

to an undisclosed location."

>> Wow.

>> "District attorneys in

Colorado have filed 15 charges

against Chartier.

The trial won't be scheduled

until 2015 at the earliest."

Shelly Lynne set up,

almost like "Cupid,"

this famous basketball player

and this 17-year-old girl

from California.

And their relationship ends.

She gets upset, figures now that

they've had sex and one of

them's very young, "I can now

use this against him."

The bottom line is,

whoever Felipe is talking to

is using the pictures of

this girl, Paris Roxanne--

>> And she's been used as bait

before in a catfish scheme.

>> We need to just make sure

that the girl in the pictures

is Paris Roxanne and that she,

in no way, has ever communicated

with Felipe.

All right, so here's her

Instagram.

We'll send her a quick video

message.

Hey, Paris, it's Nev and Max

from the MTV show Catfish.

We would love to talk to you.

We have some questions.

So, hit me up, send me your

number, and we'll--

we'll FaceTime.

Thanks.

Sent.

[suspenseful music]

*

[phone vibrating]

>> Did you get something?

>> Yes.

Wow, Paris, "Hey.

My Skype name..."

>> Let's Skype her.

[Skype trilling]

>> How you doing?

>> Hi, nice to meet you guys.

>> Nice to meet you too.

I understand you went through

quite an ordeal.

>> A major ordeal, yeah.

>> The reason why we kind of

came upon you, and--and this

whole story is that we've just

met a young man, Felipe,

who believes that he's having a

relationship with this girl

named...

>> Jasmin.

>> Jasmin Gonzalez.

>> Who's using your photos.

>> Wow.

>> I know.

Is it still happening a lot?

>> For the purposes of our

investigation, what would be

really helpful for us

is just to have you record a

short little greeting to Felipe

so we have that to show him.

>> Okay, you ready?

>> Yeah.

>> Okay.

>> Yeah, no, that was great.

Thank you.

Sorry you had to get sort of

wrapped up in all of this,

but thanks for being a part of

it.

Bye.

>> Bye.

>> Bye.

>> All right, so now we've got

everything we need to without

any doubt prove to Felipe

he's not talking to Paris.

>> Well, Felipe's going to be

devastated by that video.

It's gonna be tough.

>> Yes, it's a bummer, but...

>> Who has he been talking to?

[phone trilling]

>> Hello?

>> Felipe.

>> Hey, what's going on?

>> We wanted to see where you

were at so that we could come

meet you and go over some stuff.

You're at your house?

>> Yeah.

>> All right, great.

See you in a little bit.

I think it's right on this

street.

>> There he is.

>> What's going on?

How's it going?

>> How you doing, man?

>> I'm good.

>> This your joint?

>> Yeah.

>> Where's your plot?

>> Like, from the beginning of

this to where the trees are at.

>> Wow. So that's pretty big.

>> Yeah.

>> This is kinda where you see

you and Jasmin living.

>> Yeah.

I want to have the house in the

middle.

>> Okay.

>> That way we have the front

space, and then we have a

backyard for, like, you know,

kids to just go run around

and play.

>> One day this will all be--

>> Be something, yeah.

We'll be getting it all cleaned

up.

>> You don't need anything

except for someone to...

>> Do it with.

>> To do it with.

Got a bunch of things to talk

about.

>> So here's what's up.

We figured we would start

with her Facebook page.

>> Yeah.

>> So we went to her photos,

and we found a bunch,

so we did a Google image search.

And that immediately got

a bunch of hits.

>> Paris Roxanne.

>> Paris Roxanne.

>> Have you ever heard that

name before, Paris Roxanne?

>> No, never have.

>> All right, so after that,

we went on Facebook,

and we just did a search for

Paris Roxanne,

and look what we found.

A ton of fake profiles.

There's dozens and dozens.

>> They're all Paris Roxanne.

>> Then we just did a Google

search for Paris Roxanne,

and what's crazy is that the

girl in the pictures became sort

of "famous" because she was

faked.

Someone found this 17-year-old

girl that no one had heard of,

created this profile,

and it turned into a huge

national story,

and since then,

now everybody's using her

pictures to make fake accounts.

>> Right, so now there are all

these fake Paris Roxanne

accounts.

She's become a famous fake.

>> Once we knew the girl in the

pictures name was Paris Roxanne,

I sent her a message and said,

"Hey, can we talk to you?"

She wanted you to see this.

>> Hello, Felipe.

My name is Paris Roxanne,

and I'm not the person you've

been talking to.

So, I'm really sorry.

[somber music]

*

>> [sighs]

*

Oh, I don't even--

Like, I don't even know what--

just, you know, how to--what to

say.

Where can I find my happiness?

You know, you walk around,

you see everybody happy.

Where's mine?

Why can't I walk around with a

smile on my face?

*

[exhales deeply]

*

>> You all right?

>> Yeah.

*

>> * It's all right *

* It's all right *

*

* It's all right *

* It's all right *

* You see the fault lines

* Started panicking

* It's all right *

* It's all right *

>> So, um, what do you think?

>> I mean...

well, now that I know I've

been lied to and all that,

I guess now I'll be--I guess I

just want to know why.

Now I want to find out who it

is.

So, get to the bottom of it.

I got questions I want to ask

them, you know?

>> Yeah.

Well, and you deserve I think...

>> Yeah.

>> To know the truth.

I feel like the best way to get

in touch with them would be

through Facebook.

If you're okay with it,

we can send them a message.

>> Yeah. Sounds good.

>> Hey, man, hit the bag.

>> We'll call you later.

>> * Don't be consumed *

>> [sighs]

>> That was pretty rough.

>> Yeah.

>> [puffing]

>> He doesn't expect this kind

of deceit because he's not

like that.

>> And now, I mean, the big

question is, who is this person?

>> [puffing]

>> It could really be anybody.

>> * It's all right *

* It's all right *

>> It was a sad afternoon.

>> Well, Felipe, he basically

took it how I imagined he would

take it, which is pretty hard.

>> We need to figure out who

we're dealing with.

>> Yeah.

>> Because right now we've got a

catfish who has unknown motives,

unknown location,

unknown gender.

I mean, we know nothing.

>> We need to craft a very

good email.

>> Yeah.

So, here we go.

Message to Jasmin Gonzalez.

>> Okay.

>> "My name is Nev Schulman."

>> "My name is Nev."

>> "I am currently in Texas."

>> "We are here helping..."

>> "Felipe, who I understand

you..."

>> "Have been talking to."

>> "Have been--" right.

>> "Felipe now knows you are not

the girl in the pictures,

but still wants to meet you."

>> "This may be your last chance

to tell Felipe the truth.

Sincerely, Nev"

Well, nothing else that we can

really do right now.

We gotta just wait and see if

she gets back to us.

Oh, yeah.

We got a message.

>> Jasmin Gonzalez, "Is this

really Nev?"

Oh, she has the audacity to

challenge your identity.

>> I know, I know. It's okay.

It's okay.

I'll play this game.

"Yes, this is really Nev."

>> All right, ball's in your

court, Jas-man.

>> Oh. "Can you inbox me a

picture so I know it's you?"

>> I mean, the irony is just too

much to handle.

>> Ready?

[beeping]

All right, I'm sending her

this picture.

>> Proven.

Jas-man, show yourself.

>> Here we go.

>> "Okay, thanks.

So what do you want?"

>> Wow.

>> All right.

>> Getting down to brass tacks

here.

We would love to meet you.

>> "Would like to meet you

with..."

>> both:"Felipe."

>> "So he can get some answers."

>> Oh.

>> Oh.

>> "Well, first of all,

is Felipe upset?"

All right, so she obviously is

concerned.

>> Okay. Yes, Felipe is upset.

>> "If he knows I'm not the

person on the profile,

why does he need someone else to

contact me?"

>> I don't like Jasmin's

attitude here.

>> "If you're down to meet up,

we're in Calvert with Felipe.

Are you here in Texas?"

"I'm with some friends

in Bryan today.

I can figure out a place

to meet."

>> She's in Bryan.

>> That's, like, the next town

over, right?

>> Adjacent.

It's the next big town.

>> So she lives really close to

him.

>> Right, so she's not--

>> So they could know each

other.

>> Right. They could, and she's

not in Houston.

>> Right.

>> She's here.

>> Let's call Felipe and give

him the update.

>> Oh, wait, wait.

We got something from Jasmin.

>> "We can meet at Eastside park

in Hearne."

Okay.

Hey, Felipe.

>> Hey, what's going on?

>> Hey, good morning.

We just finished having a

conversation with Jasmin.

She said she's in Bryan today,

but that she'll have some time

to meet us at a park in Hearne.

All right, cool.

We'll see you in a little bit.

Later.

>> both: Hey.

>> How's it going?

>> Yo.

>> What's up, bro?

>> How's it going?

>> How you doing?

>> I'm good.

>> You ready?

Let's head over.

What was it like after we left

yesterday?

>> As soon as y'all left,

my mind just started, like,

racing.

I had to refocus myself

to control my anger.

>> * Oh

* I'm coming home *

>> Like, why did I open up to

this person and let it go on as

long as it did?

>> * Fire

* Through water

* I'm coming home *

>> The things that she told me,

were they real or just a part of

the whole lie?

>> * Fire

* Water

* Fire

* And water

>> Just be ready for anything.

>> * I'm coming home *

>> We really don't know anything

about this person.

That means they could be anyone.

Any age, any sex.

>> Right, we know nothing.

>> Yeah.

>> What do you do in boxing if

someone comes out swinging?

>> Just let them swing

themself out.

>> Here's the entrance.

[ominous music]

*

>> All right, get ready for

anything.

*

>> This is as good a spot as

any.

There you go.

A lookout.

[exhales deeply]

*

Oh, here we go.

>> This guy's coming.

*

>> I'm a little confused.

>> Wait.

I think you're about to find

out.

I think this could be

our person.

>> My intensity level

just shot up.

>> Someone's getting out of

the passenger seat.

There's a lady on the left,

and a guy on the right.

Do you know who these people

are?

>> I know the--I know the

female.

>> Who is she?

>> You do?

>> Yeah, I've hung with her

a few times.

>> Like, dated her?

>> Yeah.

>> Did you diss her?

>> No.

She kind of dissed me.

*

>> How you doing?

>> Hi, I'm good.

>> What's your name?

>> My name is Alex.

>> Alex?

>> Yes.

>> Okay, hi. And your name?

>> Luis.

>> Luis, good to meet you.

I'm Nev, and next to me, Max.

>> Hi.

>> Hi.

>> What's funny?

>> I'm not laughing, I'm just--

>> Nervous.

>> Yeah.

>> Nervous, okay.

>> Who's Jasmin?

>> Me.

>> You're Jasmin?

>> Mm-hmm.

>> Okay.

>> Then who are you?

>> Well, I'm his best friend.

I'm here because I dated Felipe,

and I found out that

he was messaging Jasmin.

Luis told me.

I felt, you know, really hurt.

I didn't say anything.

I just stopped it.

*

>> He didn't tell me--

>> So you got--wait, have you

guys ever met?

>> No.

>> So let me just clarify.

So...

when did you guys start dating?

>> Like, in June.

>> So six months ago.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> And according to Felipe,

you messaged him--

>> Way before that.

>> Right.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> You had up this profile

for Jasmin, and at some point

you saw Felipe,

you started talking.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> Then after you guys started

talking,

you guys started dating.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> Yeah.

>> Did you have sex?

>> Yeah.

I didn't even tell Luis

about him.

I kinda tried--kind of wanted,

you know, to keep it, like,

a secret.

>> Okay.

>> And then when I finally did

tell Luis,

he told me everything.

*

I've known about this profile

for a while.

>> His Jasmin profile?

>> Yes. At the beginning, I was,

like, totally against it.

I was, like, you know,

"Why would you do that?"

But he wasn't going to listen to

me.

>> For as long as you guys have

been friends, he's had this

Jasmin profile.

>> Yeah.

>> Never really cared until you

found out that his fake girl

profile was talking to the guy

you were sleeping with.

>> Yeah.

>> What are the chances that he

randomly--

>> It's a small town.

>> Very small town.

>> So everyone--literally

everyone in town is, like,

friends with everyone.

>> You've had, like,

an eight-month pretty romantic

relationship with Felipe

as a female on the internet.

So why? Why that?

>> It wasn't really romantic.

>> Yes, it was.

You guys talked about being

together.

You talked about, like, a future

together.

>> I didn't really know him,

so it was, like, I'm not trying

to be mean, but I didn't have

no feelings.

It was just, like, whatever.

>> Do you use the Jasmin profile

to meet guys?

>> No.

>> So then, why Felipe?

>> It wasn't, I mean--

I don't know.

It just--

>> I mean, are you attracted

to him?

>> No, it's not like--no.

>> Are you attracted to men?

>> No.

>> Okay, 'cause...

>> Yeah, I know.

>> That's just what it looks

like.

>> That's what it looks like

to me also.

>> You wanted to have a

relationship with Felipe.

>> But I didn't.

Like, I swear I didn't.

>> But then why?

>> It was just a messing game.

Like, I-I--it's not just

with him.

Like, it was with multiple

people, and like I said,

I text--

>> Multiple people or...

>> Multiple guys.

>> Multiple guys?

>> Like, girls and guys.

It all started as a joke.

And I just--I guess I just got

so used to it, and I was just,

like, playing along with it.

>> What's up?

>> No, I just had to walk away

for a little bit.

Little bit pissed right now.

It's just--I'm, like, two

seconds from just going off,

so I just had to walk away.

>> I felt like I was played

with.

I felt like I was just taken

advantage of by my friend

and the person who I was with,

because why are you

sitting here messaging other

girls on Facebook?

>> My anger's just starting to

build up again 'cause here I am

pretty much--he pretty much just

told me to my face that I was

a joke.

It's just crazy right now.

>> Sounds like this kid is

confused about why he was doing

this.

I don't think he knows.

Or if he does know,

I don't think he wants to say

it.

>> Yeah, I mean, I don't know.

>> Whenever she told me, "I'm

dating Felipe," I had to tell

her, like, "Hey, look, Felipe's

still texting Jasmin."

That's why they broke up,

or whatever they did.

>> And when you broke up, you

didn't say, "Hey, I found out

you were te--," like...

>> I was afraid that something

was going to happen to Luis.

Felipe's not like him.

>> You were concerned if Felipe

knew, he might be aggressive?

>> Concerned, yeah. Yeah.

>> If he would have told me

sooner, I probably would have

been able to make things work

with her.

Probably changed my dream from

being with Jasmin,

and putting my dreams to--

putting my dreams with her.

>> Give me--give me a second.

>> Okay.

>> I'm sorry.

>> All that stuff that you did.

>> I feel bad.

>> I think it would be good for

you to talk to Alex and see if

you can clear this up.

>> Okay.

>> She's got a lot of feelings

and confusion about this whole

situation.

>> That's cool.

I can do that.

[somber music]

*

>> Alex, why don't you say what

you came here to say to him?

>> When I found out that this

whole thing was going on,

I kind of felt, like, betrayed.

I kind of felt like, why are you

doing that?

Why are you talking to somebody

else if you're supposed to be

with me, so that's--

>> You felt like Felipe was

cheating on you.

>> I did.

I was really hurt.

But I moved on,

and I just wanted to tell you

that I'm sorry.

I should have told you,

but I just didn't.

Only because I was nervous about

what's gonna happen to Luis.

And that's why I didn't open my

mouth, and I regret it now

because I should have said

something, and maybe this would

have just stopped earlier.

I'm very sorry.

>> Well, yeah, when we started

dating, I was still talking

to the Jasmin profile,

but for more or less, more

trying to figure out how I felt

towards her and how I felt

towards the Jasmin profile.

Pretty much trying to balance it

out.

But as in, like, cheating?

No, I wasn't cheating.

I mean, I'm not--that's not who

I am.

If you would have told me from

the beginning when I started

talking to you, or whoever you

were pretending to be,

then I could have put all my

attention to her, which she

deserves.

You probably did it for a

reason, I don't know.

But if you would have told me,

I would have been, like,

"All right, cool. It's water

under the bridge."

But you didn't do that.

>> I mean, I lied.

Like, it's understandable now.

I guess we should have--

I should have told you.

I just didn't know how

to end it.

It was just as a prank.

>> A prank on who?

>> People.

I'm saying that's all why,

at first, I did it.

>> I don't know why you're

doing it.

It doesn't seem like you know

why you're doing it.

>> I just felt like no one was

listening to me.

All this bunch of people would,

like, come at me, like...

>> Tell us.

'Cause we don't understand.

>> So when I was little,

this school teacher tried to

molest me and stuff for, like,

five years.

And I was just scared and, like,

finally, like, I opened up to my

mom, and I told her.

And I went to the cops.

And the cops didn't do anything

either.

They thought I was crazy.

So they sent me to a

psychiatrist.

I was just mad at people.

Like, I just started, like,

hating so many people and, like,

people at school, you know,

talk their mess,

and say stuff about me, and...

>> About you getting...

>> Yeah.

>> Molested by the teacher?

>> A male teacher?

>> Yeah.

I didn't know where to go.

I was, like, scared of

everything in my whole mind.

I was losing it.

Like, no one was hearing me out,

so I was, like, "You know what?"

Like, I see the show Catfish

and stuff, so I was, like,

it just got to me one day.

I started the profile to mess

with people 'cause if I can't

get my freedom or my, I guess,

you know, peace, I'm gonna get

it my way.

It's hard to explain just

because it's my feelings.

Like, I feel bad and I take

full--like, full responsibility.

>> Why though continue

with Felipe for so long though?

>> I know I messaged him for so

long, and, like, he probably--

like he said, he felt like

I ruined their relationship,

but it's, like, honestly I

didn't mean to.

Like, I wasn't thinking, and

I just still can't find that,

like, you know, relief.

I feel like this profile just

made it worse.

I thought I was doing the right

thing just, I guess,

releasing myself from things.

I guess anger and stuff.

It's, like, I don't know.

I'm sorry.

>> * It's been a long time *

>> I think that for the moment

most of the answers that you

needed, you got.

>> Yeah.

>> I could never have imagined

this crazy love triangle,

but I don't know if there's

anything else that you

need to know.

Alex, do you feel like you

said what you needed to say?

>> I said everything I needed to

say.

I would love, you know, for us

to be friends.

>> So why don't we just say our

good-byes for now

and meet up tomorrow?

>> Thank you.

>> Okay, thanks.

>> * It's been a long time *

* By the look of things

* A long time

>> I did not see that coming.

'Cause that was, like, way out

of left field.

>> What did you make of

everything he said?

>> I mean, yeah, he's been

through a lot, but who hasn't?

We all have our bad pasts,

but, I mean, that's still no

reason to do what he did.

>> I feel like we were standing

here watching him...

>> Trying to piece everything

together.

>> Trying to piece it all

together for, like, maybe the

first time ever.

*

>> This episode of Catfish:

The TV Show continues now.

>> We're going to see Nev.

He's probably really hyper

because it's early.

>> Hi!

[laughter]

I missed you.

>> Get away from me.

>> [laughs]

>> Today, I think the plan for

Luis is to just meet up with

him, just us.

Yesterday was dramatic.

>> He was reeling a little,

yeah.

I don't think he's exactly sure

why he's so addicted to the

Jasmin profile.

>> Yeah.

>> We've kind of got to get to

the bottom of that, hold up a

mirror to him,

and say, "Is this the person you

want to be?"

>> All right, well let's call

Luis.

[phone trilling]

Hi, it's Nev and Max.

Good morning.

We were hoping that we could

talk a little bit today.

Cool, thanks, Luis.

All right, let's talk to this

guy.

>> What's up?

>> Hey, what's up, man?

How you doing?

>> Good.

>> Good to see you.

>> Yesterday was pretty intense.

>> You've probably been thinking

about it a lot.

>> Yeah.

>> Just wondering if you've had

new ideas or feelings.

Forget Alex, forget Felipe.

Just for you.

>> I realized what was I doing

wrong.

Felipe and Alex was like--that's

just a couple, you know?

Two people.

And it's, like, there's other

people.

>> How many other people were

you talking to like Felipe?

>> Facebook went out of control.

So if I messaged you today,

tomorrow I wouldn't even find

you 'cause there's so many other

messages above you.

>> I imagine that, like,

90% of the activity on Jasmin's

page is men, right?

>> Yeah.

>> You're posting these

quasi-pornographic pictures,

and you're inviting guys who are

saying very graphic,

sexual things to you.

>> I just--I can't sit here and

be, like, "Okay, well I have a

good reason why."

>> Accepting who you are is a

major part of the answer.

[gentle music]

*

>> It was, like, I guess I was

trying to create her in a way

where I can express myself.

I'm not saying 100%,

but I'll put every once in a

while my feelings into it.

It was mostly like a,

"Okay, no one--

no one's hearing me.

My parents can't listen to me.

My family, friends."

And I felt like no one could

understand my point of view,

what I went through.

It was, like, you know, let me

take this on my own hands and

build this profile,

and just pour my feelings

into it.

I--

That's--that's basically it.

I mean, I can't--I can't make--

I can't make an excuse.

Like, that's what I feel.

>> It sounds like you don't feel

like anybody really knows

who you are.

>> Yeah.

I just blame me getting

molested when I was little

for everything that's happening

to me now.

If that would have never

happened, maybe I would have

been different now.

I would have probably not--

I don't know.

>> Finish that thought.

>> It's hard.

It's, like, I don't know.

>> If he hadn't have done what

he did, you would be--

>> I probably would have been

Dad's little perfect son,

or my mom's perfect son,

or--I don't know.

I don't want to talk about it.

>> What you did yesterday was

really brave.

Like, coming out and saying

what happened to you.

That's hard to do.

Nothing else is going to be as

scary as what you've just done.

>> I feel relieved just speaking

it out loud, I guess.

It was, like, I never talked to

anybody about this,

or why I did it, or--just felt--

it just felt good.

Like, I feel like I can

actually, like, move on from it.

None of this should have ever

happened.

Like, I don't want to waste my

life on something that is not

healthy for me.

>> All right, man.

We gotta go.

>> Thanks.

>> Don't be afraid to ask for

help.

>> You're allowed to be who you

are now.

>> See you later, Luis.

>> Kinda seems like what

happened with Luis is that

when you feel like a victim,

you're almost blinded to the

fact that other people are real

and have feelings, and that you

might be hurting.

>> Right.

>> And he still hasn't found a

way to reconcile those two

things.

Luis definitely has a lot to

think about.

>> [puffing]

>> Hey, champ.

>> Hey.

>> Looks like you're hitting a

giant testicle.

>> Yeah.

[laughs]

>> We're back where we started.

>> You know, after the whole

night to think about it and

clear my head, I mean, I'm still

a little upset about it 'cause

I had so much dreams for it.

It's done, it's over with.

Now I just want to try to heal

and move on.

There are things I want to do

now that I should have done

a long time ago.

Focus on myself and hopefully

down the line, I find whatever

else I'm looking for.

>> Keep on slugging.

>> Yeah.

Whoa!

Hey.

>> There he goes.

Stay light on those feet.

>> Champ.

>> All right, reenacting the

famous photo.

Ready?

>> * But like you I'm just... *

>> Thank y'all for all y'all

help.

>> Stay strong.

>> Always.

>> Later, man.

>> Thank you.

>> See y'all later.

>> Later, dude.

Aww.

>> Aww.

[phone trilling]

>> What's up?

>> How you doing?

>> I've been really good,

actually.

Y'all really helped me out.

I guess opened my mind and

released that stuff that I had.

>> Are the Jasmin profiles

totally finished?

>> Yes.

>> Wow.

>> I'm moving to San Antonio

next week.

I want to start a new, fresh

start.

I just really don't have time to

be living that life of

negativity, and always having

hate and stuff, you know?

I just guess that was just

holding me back on stuff.

>> Congratulations on all the

great things that are happening,

man.

Good luck on your--your fresh

start.

>> Thank you.

>> Take care, Luis.

>> Bye, Luis.

>> Take care. Bye.

>> Bye.

[upbeat music]

*

[phone trilling]

>> Yo.

>> Hey!

>> Hey.

>> What's up, buddy?

How you doing?

>> I'm doing good, you know?

>> What about Alex?

>> I haven't really had any

contact with her.

Not since that day that we saw

each other.

>> I guess you haven't talked to

Luis at all?

>> No, but, you know,

if he ever wanted to go and

catch a drink, he can hit me up.

>> The big question is:

Have you been dating anybody?

>> I'm actually involved with

somebody at the moment,

someone I work with.

>> Well, it sounds like

everything's going pretty well

for you.

>> I-I would say so.

>> Keep it up.

>> Float like a butterfly.

>> Oh, yeah. See you later.

>> Bye.

>> He seems to know so much

about me, but it's, like, I know

nothing about the guy.

>> Why do you think you guys

haven't met up yet?

>> Um...

>> If it turns out what Dave's

told you isn't true?

>> Cut.

>> It looks like he's looking

for an out.

>> Is it this house right here?

I hate liars.

>> I think this is it.

>> Oh, my God, this is so weird.

>> Hello?
