Smalton Sheep Rodeo!

See, kids? I told you the sheep
rodeo was exciting.

Even though it's sheep
instead of bulls,

it's still pretty intense.

[announcer] Up next,
the reigning sheep champion,

Ragin' Wool,

takes on his next victim!

And you better believe that

when this sheep is
outta his cage,



he is full of rage!

But don't worry, folks,
the kids all signed a waiver,

so legally, we're in the clear!

[nervous whimpering]

- Ahh!
- [snorts]

- Baaaaa!
- [announcer]
And they're off!

[gasps]
That looks awesome!

[grunts] Whoa!

Whoa!

- [growls]
- Ahhhh!

[crash]

Oh, me, what a slam!

Any other lil' busters out there

- willing to take a chance
with Raging Wool?

[cheering]

That doesn't look so hard.

- I'd be great at this!
- But, Cricket,

you've never tried
sheep rodeo before.

So what? It's just a sheep!

How hard could it be?

- [crowd gasps]
- [announcer] Yowch!

Becoming a mutton buster
requires balance, toughness,

a deep understanding
of sheep behavior,

and one heckuva
iron-tough grip!

Ahh! Ma, my Splishy...

But most importantly, Cricket,
it takes years of practice!

"Years of practice"?!
But that could take months!

I wanna be a
sheep rodeo legend today!

If only there were a way
to become

a rodeo master in a few minutes.

Yeah, wouldn't it be funny if we
could just 'montage'?

- A mon-what?
- You know, a montage?

Like in a movie?

[both grunt 'I don't know']

Here, this is
the training montage

from Roller Jam 3.

So in the beginning,
he's not a good skater...

- Aaand how does
this help me...?
- [Remy] Keep watching!

So he starts trying all these

different training techniques...

testing his balance... strength...

And when he tries again,
he's not perfect,
but he's improving!

The montage keeps cutting
from scene to scene

until he's perfect!

See, now he's a skating master!

[Cricket] Oh, whoa!

[Remy] And then
you know the montage is over

when they high-five!

That's perfect!

Through the power of montage,

I'll be a legend in no time!

Uh, Cricket, montages are just
a visual storytelling device

used to condense a long period
of time into a short one.

You can only do them in movies.

How do you know?
Has anyone ever tried?

Huh. I'm not really sure.

like, a minute.

I only did the first part
of the montage

where I kinda struggle.

I gotta do the rest of
the montage

where I get
better and better!

And when we
high-five at the end,

then I'll be a champion!

Weren't we just high-fivin'?

[grunts] Dangit, Remy!

We seem to be cutting from

- one training exercise
to the next.
- [grunts]

Now that you mention it,
this is weird!

We're not just actin'
like we're in a montage,

- we're really in one!
- [bleats]

What!? The montage started
all over again!

- [grunts]

It seems that every time
you high-five,

instead of stopping,
the montage begins anew.

All right, if we don't want
the montage to loop,

we can't high-five!

I know! But our hands
are attracted

to each other like magnets!

- What. Is. Happening?!

We're trapped in this!
How do I make it stop?!

Who knows? To figure that out

you'd have to be an expert
at quantum mechanics.

But mastering that discipline
would take forty or fifty years.

But that'll take too long!

[spits] There's gotta
be a shorter way.

[gasps] I know!
Let's do another montage!

I'll learn a bunch
of science stuff real quick,

which will help me
invent something

to end this whole
montage business,

so I can get back to
the sheep rodeo!

Uh, I don't know, Cricket.

Taking a shortcut is what
got us stuck here.

Science montage!

Behold! Our ticket outta here.

When I push
this here button,

this montage
machine'll zap us

right out of this montage. Observe.

[all groan]

Why didn't the montage
thingy work?!

Science is about
trial and error, brother.

Perhaps you need to start over.

All these numbers and words
are cloggin' up my brain hole.

I can't think straight!

Aw, Cricket, you need a break.

Remy's right. If you want to
fix your invention,

you need to give
your brain some rest.

If only there was a way
to quickly clear your mind...

Now that I'm nice and relaxed,

I can fit more science stuff
in my brain,

which will help me fix
my invention thingy

and get us out of this montage
so I can be a sheep rodeo champ!

Look out Raging Wool,

there's a new
mutton-buster in town!

[spits] Hey, bro.

You covered me in ice cream,

and now I'm gonna cover you
in bruises.

So we fightin' or what?!

[gasps]

How am I supposed
to learn how to fight

in such a
short amount of time?

me for a montage?

I mean, [chuckles] moment?

So then I can relax, which will
allow me to learn more science

so I can fix the... machine?

- [nervous chuckle] That's all!

you gotta fix your footwork!

Uh, I guess this is like...
footwork training?

For a... shopping montage?

Well, we do look sharp.

The montaging's
out of control, Cricket!

I wanted to get better
in a short amount of time!

short time also didn't work.

[grunts] And I couldn't
get good at fightin' either!

It's almost as if...

Most importantly,
it takes years of practice...

ride the sheep now! [sobs]

[gasps] All this time, I've
been trying to take shortcuts

because I didn't wanna
do the work.

But I see now...
there are no shortcuts.

[Bill] Cricket?

- [Cricket groans]

the Raging Wool in one day!

[grunts]

You lasted almost a full
two seconds longer!

That's progress!

- Yeah! No-- wait!
- [music plays]
