Wicked Tuna: North vs. South (2014–…): Season 3, Episode 4 - Underdog Day Afternoon - full transcript

Four weeks into the fishing season, the fishermen of Gloucester, Massachusetts, are desperate for bluefin tuna. The fishing migration is in an unpredictable state, so the captains resort to espionage for information. Though the captains engage in tactics that provide them with advantages, they face some unexpected setbacks. They discover information about the bluefin tuna...and each other.

On this episode
of Wicked Tuna Outer Banks.

Hey, Jake, get on there!

Taking her down, baby!

Oh, we're on.

That's the one.

An underdog...

Payin'
a lot of bills right here.

Fights
for recognition.

Oh, yeah. Doubled up!

Oh, damn
man, that thing's a monster.

While
two Northern boats...

Whoo!

Pow
goes the breaker.

Struggle
to get in the race.

Running!

We're gonna
get 'em, Duffy.

Screaming!

- Watch it now. Watch it!
- I can't!

Dammit.

Good
God, look at that bite.

This is
Wicked Tuna Outer Banks.

Fishin' Frenzy's domination
continues but one fish could

push Hot Tuna or
Foolish Pleasures into the lead.

Meanwhile, Pinwheel
and Hard Merchandise

still have zero Bluefin.

My name is Dale Lisi
and I'm the captain of the
Foolish Pleasures.

Fishing is my life and
nothing has or will stop me.

Because I only have one
arm, people underestimate
me all the time.

But they don't know me.

The guys in the fleet
consider me an underdog.

But I am a damn
good tuna fisherman.

My life hasn't been
easy at times but the
challenges I've faced

have made me the man I am today.

I lost my arm in 1992
on the 4th of July.

I was 23.

I was on my boat and a
hydraulic line blew off and it

caused the boat to
go into a hard turn.

I got thrown out
into a somersault.

I hit my head on the tower
going out and got stunned and
as soon as I came to,

the boat was headed right
for me and I guess I put my
arm out to block the boat

and it hit my arm.

And about seconds later, you
know, I got my vision back and

I knew I was gonna lose my arm.

I panicked for about a second
and then realized I needed to
swim back to the boat.

People were slipping all over
the boat because the whole
boat was covered in blood and

it was a nasty a scene.

Just sort of laid
there wondering if I
was gonna die or not.

You just hope that if
you're not gonna make it,

you're gonna wake up
in a better place.

I lost my arm. I could
have lost my life.

You got to be grateful
for what didn't happen.

Reason we're down here is to
go up against the best tuna
fishermen really in the world.

First and foremost, just to
take Greg, and the Frenzy down

'cause he doesn't
respect anything.

Another
one for the Frenzy.

How do you like that, Dale?

He said he's gonna smoke
the fleet this year.

Good luck.

He's gonna need it.

I know that he
drives around on that
bridge all day long,

"I'm the greatest.

I'm the greatest."

To take out Frenzy, that's
what we're gonna do.

Foolish Pleasures
caught a couple of fish.

He's one fish away
from us right now.

We got to do something today.

I don't want to see
him get ahead of me.

I didn't realize he was
an amputee, then I
heard his story;

he lost his arm on a boat, I
mean, that's, that's awful.

But he's pushed through it.

Apparently he's pretty
good at what he does.

He's been catching some fish.

I got to hand it
to him for that.

But when it comes to Bluefin
fishing, it's what I do.

It's what I'm good at.

I'm gonna catch more
fish than this guy Dale.

We started the season on top.

We're still on top.

That feels good.

Here's the mark.
Here they are.

Come on, baby.

Saying fin are deep.

Come on. Come
on, baby. Come on, baby.

There's a boil
like in the middle.

Look on the dummy.

Yeah. I
saw it, Come on. Come on.

On the back dummy I think.

Dammit.

Come on.

There he is!

Look at that bite.

Good God!

There we go!

Did
you see that bite?

Awesome.

Oh, my God! Wow.

That was awesome.

Wow, wow!

My
God, she was rolling.

- Holy.
- Holy.

Holy.

Right on it, dude.

That's
what we signed up for.

That was badass.

That's why we
do this. Oh, my God.

That was one of the
best bites I've ever seen.

Wow! That was awesome.

That tuna jumped
six foot in the air.

I mean, come right
down on the hook.

Wow, that was epic, 80,
90-incher man, that was
definitely a nice fish,

I mean, hell he was 50 yards
away or less than that.

Got bills to pay, I
got kids to feed.

Hold on. Real slack
here now, Frenzy.

I don't know, man.

Don't know if he
come off or what.

I hope he's on there.

I think he's gone, bro.

Hope not.

Fish just come off.

Dammit.

All right, let's get rigged
up and start over again.

No fish. Just sucks.

That was the best bite
I've ever seen in my life.

Do it again,
all we can do.

Everything was cool,
everything was tight we got it
cleared and the fish came off.

I mean, that's, that's
fishing, it happens but damn.

Hard way to go.

Set the stick out?

I'll set it.

The weight goes in the back end.
You know that right?

Yeah.

You can always
leave the bandit and the
bird always hooked up.

So sweaty and then
I get so cold.

Sick as can be.
What are we gonna do?

We got to catch fish.

Tyler's sick
this morning so he's having me
rig the greenstick by myself.

I've known Tyler through the
docks up in Rye, New Hampshire

and Tyler gave me the
opportunity to fish with
him and I jumped right on.

We gotta do it
today. We really have to
put one on the boat.

Another
beautiful day out here though.

Definitely frustrated, we
haven't made any money yet and
we really need the paycheck

just to cover
expenses at this point.

It takes a toll
on you mentally.

Yo, T?

What up?

Like this
right, brother?

Turn
it the other way. Yeah.
Like that, like that, like that.

In coming down
here, my expectations were
just like full-on,

high-octane bites.

These bites that you'd,
you know, you'd get three
fish on at once.

I was so happy to
come down and be able
to experience that.

But, still looking for the
first fish of the season.

Why is the
outrigger like that?

The.
This really sucks.

I'm a bit of an
adrenaline junky.

I've always been
pushing the limits.

I like cliff jumping,
skiing, snowboarding.

I swam with sharks,
whitewater kayaking.

I surf almost every
day when I can.

I've broken my left arm
six times, my right arm
twice, collar bones,

broken ribs, torn meniscuses.

Both my shoulders
are bone on bone.

Broke my toe two weeks
ago barefoot
skateboarding down a hill.

Pain is temporary you
know, glory's for all.

What do
you need help with?

No, I think
I got it, dude.

I ended up stealing
Duffy off another boat.

He's capable as a mechanic,
he's capable at running and
driving a boat,

he can navigate,
he's a great angler.

I mean, all the qualities
I need in a good mate,
Duffy has them.

But, he's never really fished
down here in the Outer Banks.

So, when he sees us losing
fish and not catching them,

it's starting to bring
skepticism into his mind.

Weight down!

Oh, God.

"Why am I here?
Am I with the right captain?

Am I on the right boat?"

Was it twisted?

Dude, what?

Was it twisted?

Was what?

- You good?
- Yeah.

Okay.

Okay. Let's let her fly.

Oh, we're fishing.

We're fishing.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.

It's all you can do.

We've
got a combo spread here now.

I've got the stick, got
the ballyhoos, everything
is looking good.

The boys, they've got a couple
of different sets of gear for
different conditions.

Choppy ride out.

Choppy, choppy this morning.

Sometimes it's
blowing, it's rough.

You know some days you just
don't want to go to work.

But, it's pretty much a
cop-out when you say,

"Well, I just don't want
to so I'm not going to,"

because I have a wife and
I have children to feed

and clothes and bills to
pay just like everybody
else in America.

So, the more effective I am,
the greater the care that I
can take of my family.

Waiting on one bite.
One big bite is all we need.

A lot of daylight left, just
all a matter of how long we
can stay and how rough it is.

Oh, there
they are, boy!

Look at that.

Look at that.

Seeing anything?

Seeing anything up there?

Yes, sir.
They're Bluefin marks, buddy.

Got 'em on, I think.

There he is!

We're on! We're on!

Pow goes the breaker.

Yeah.

This is what
we're after, boys.

Oh, there they are, boy!

Got 'em on, I think.

There he is!

Pow
goes the breaker.

We're on! We're on!

Woo-hoo!

Taking her down, baby!

Nice one.

Gonna be a nice one.

Get that bait up
out of the water, Austin.

Alright! It's
hung up on the thing!

Crank it up.

Get it in the boat.

This
is what we're after, boys.

This is why we come
even when it's rough.

Let's just hope it's a keeper.

Come to daddy.

Come on, baby.

See anything?

Color's there, ain't it?

Color. Color.

Yeah.

Ain't
too sure it ain't gonna be
a short, dang it.

I hope it's a keeper.

He'll be big enough.

I feel like it.

What do you think?

I don't know. Let's pull him in

and measure him
real quick.

Come
on, boy! We need this one!

Get the,
somebody get a, measure him.

Austin.

70.

Huh?

- 70.
- 70?

Yeah, pretty short.

See ya, buddy.

Too short.

Fish have to be 73 inches or
above and anything under 73
you cannot keep.

It was
just three inches too short.

We got to release the little
ones so they can spawn and
have bigger ones.

Unfortunate for us
but it's good for next
year, you know?

We got to keep the, keep
this fishery sustainable.

Three inches too short,
story of my life.

Three inches too short.

Sounds
like a personal problem.

All right. We got 'em on here.

Guy's marking and he's
just got one on.

CLIFF Then
ask him what his four line is.

Ask, yeah, what his two and
four line, how far out he is.

Almost every boat in
the fleet has caught and we
still don't have any fish.

I'm beginning to think maybe
there's like a curse or
something going on down here.

But, I've got confidence
in Cliff's abilities

and he certainly knows his
way around the boat.

We just got to keep
the positive vibe going.

Hopefully, we can get
over there and get on a fish.

The good thing is, the
current's going this way.

So right now, the Hard Merch
is making 12 knots

and that's as fast as I've been
on this boat the entire time.

My family has been
fishing forever in this area.

So I've grown up
in this industry.

I've been married
for 12 years.

We have three beautiful little
boys, Gavin, Gage and Graham.

They love to fish.

Having a family does put
pressure on you when you're
going out fishing.

I need to do everything I can
to help this boat catch fish.

If we can just get
on the fish for an hour or two
we can change everything.

Hey, Hard Merch.

That's
what I'm talking about!

They're gonna be
chewing, boys.

Ready for some action?

Dale is a great captain.

We got a running joke,
we always ask him if he
needs a hand, you know.

It's always funny.

It never gets old.

There are things that
you would think he would
be limited to do,

but he's not.

He can do everything
you can do with one hand.

The strategy
today is to catch fish.

The goal of Dale Lisi and the
Foolish Pleasures is to come
down here from Virginia

and let these people know who
we are and that we know
what we're doing.

We're not some clown ship
coming down from up north.

We're down here to catch
fish and do it well.

Let
me get this thing out.

Slow me down, Dale.

I'm a pretty
laid-back captain.

Just because I would never
put somebody on my boat
that sucked.

I think the crew
definitely makes the boat.

I got the best crew out there.

In gear.

Engage.

Slingshot engaged.

Yes.

My whole life,
I've been competitive.

I've always tried to be
first at whatever I'm doing.

I definitely want
to take Greg down.

There's nothing I'd like to do
more than to knock him off of
his high horse there.

All right.

One good day out
here today can propel
us to lead this game

and we're not looking back.

Ain't nobody's
gonna catch us then.

Oh, yeah, Frenzy
we're coming for you.

Birds
circling now. Two gannet!

There he goes. Got ya!

Dammit. Ah!

We'll have to switch
up with the greenstick if
the birds keep up.

Tensions
are running high.

We've got no fish, the
birds are eating our bait

and every minute
we're not catching,

Dale on the Foolish
Pleasures could be.

I mean, that's
what you end up with.

Right there.
Birds eat that off.

I know the birds got
to eat too but I wish they'd
eat something else.

This is really
becoming a pain in my ass.

Dammit!

You.

Soon as we put one
back there, they eat it.

Damn birds are
killing us today.

That's
the baddest bird out here.

Yeah, they are.

That thing must have
dived 50 foot into the bait.

Whoa, look at that?

That's
what I'm saying, man.

The
birds are gonna plague us
all day, I got a feeling.

- I
- love me some Renegade.

He's my dog. He's my tuna dog.

He can smell 'em.

People think I love
Renegade more than my son.

You're my other
son, aren't ya?

He's my boy.

Renegade's two years old now.

But he's been fishing with us
since he was a little puppy.

He is definitely
part of our crew.

I really honestly believe he
understands what I'm thinking
and what I'm saying.

Yeah, boy.
Hey, Bubba. Hey.

I couldn't imagine not
having Renegade on the boat.

There's most days we'll
have full-out conversations
with the dog.

We treat him just
like one of us.

Dad does it more
than I do, I think.

Tuna fishing, baby.

Yeah.

You're a good dog.

You're a good dog.

Oh.

No, I don't have another
crewmember to go back there to
talk to or hang out with.

So, Renegade fills that void.

He's just like a little
ball of positivity, you know?

You can
smell them, can't you?

I want you to smell one today.

God!

Your whiskers
are poking my eyes out.

He's been a
good, good friend.

We're off to a
slow start this year.

Caught one fish and that
fish wasn't that great.

But, it's one of those
things, you know, if you
let it get to your mind,

you'll never rebound from it.

Oh, my
God. Look at this mark.

Jake, I'm still marking.

These things must be
going in the wind.

Hey, Jake!

I seen
him! I seen him! He's on,
he's on the teaser!

Get on there.

Good Lord, son. They're
after the teaser.

Look!

Got them on, Greg.

Griff's got 'em on.
Son of a bitch.

Dammit. They're
gonna catch up with us

if we don't do something.

I know Griff
really needs a fish but,
dammit, so do I.

At least it's not
Foolish Pleasures.

When the fish hit it,
sometimes it makes it look
like they're great big because

the water flies, I mean,
the water flew on this one.

I'm hoping it's gonna
be as big as he looks.

This thing right here
could be worth $4,000
or $5,000, you know.

I think he's gonna be
on the first bait, son.

Yeah.

You want it now, or what?

You see color?

I
mean, yeah, he's on
this leader here, yeah.

- I
- can't see anything, buddy.

He's right there, bud.

Pull
on him, buddy, pull on him.

Come on, man,
he's coming up now.

When you grab
a hold of that leader, you
really got to be careful.

As he gets to the boat,
he doesn't want to go
in the boat,

he's gonna start
fighting harder.

You got to worry about a hook
pulling out, line breaking.

When that fish take off
on a run, then you have
to let him go.

Man, this
one's pullin', bud.

Watch him!

Come on! Come on!

I can't.

I don't like this!

Pull on him,
buddy, pull on him.

Man, this
one's pullin', bud.

Watch him!

Come on, come on.

I can't.

He's on there!

Just let him go.

I think it's
gonna be all right.

He busted you in
the mouth? You all right?

Yeah.

You pull on
these fish long enough, you're
gonna have something happen.

There's been times where
I've taken double wraps
and he takes a dig

and the mono will crush
down on your hands.

You know, it'll leave
it black and blue.

Knock on wood, that's
the worst I've had.

What's he gonna
be like, a 80-incher?

There he is!

You see him?

Got
him again, big dog!

Get after him!

Watch out! Watch out!

Right
there, right there.

Right here, come on.
Come on, man, grab 'em.

Grab the rope.

All right, man we got him!

God, she kicked our ass!

It
looks like a great fish.

We need it to be a good one
so we could get in the game
here, make some money.

Look
at that blue, right there.

He is fat.

Look at that blue.
It's a beautiful fish right there.

What is it?

75.

Alright, bud.
That's it right there, isn't it?

Cool, boy.

Man, that's it.
That's what we needed
right there, man.

Oh, yes sir. Phew.

Makes it all worthwhile, man.

Tuna fishing, baby!

That's what we like to do.

We really
need a fish bad.

I need a bite here.

Damn.

Yeah.
It gets boring waiting for the bite for sure.

Tyler's saying the fish
are here or somewhere and
you know it's like,

"Where are they?"

Definitely expected
more action.

I have a hard time, you know,
when we're not marking them.

This is
heartbreaking man.

We got to get a fish.

Oh, yeah.

I'm just hanging out in
the beanbag you know
trying to dream one up,

maybe wake up to
the rod screaming.

It's frustrating.

We're gonna
get a bite here.

I can see in Duffy's face,
there's that desire that he
might wanna quit.

Not 'cause he can't hack
it or can't handle it.

Just because he doesn't
understand that, "Hey, man,
if you stick with me,

Duffy, I'll lead you
to the promised land."

man.

Just another day
in the office.

Mayhem.

Waiting on the bite.

Are we excited?

Yeah, man.

That's a butterball.

We needed this bad. Bad, bad.

Let's check him out.

What
have you got, buddy?

216 pounds.

All right, good deal.

With the Bluefin tuna,
it's all about quality.

They want good color and they
also want fat like a rib eye
steak has a lot of fat in it,

it's marbled which,
it's like that with fish.

The more fat it has, the
more flavor and the higher
price it'll bring.

We need it to be a good one
so we could get in the game
here, make some money.

I'm seeing
a little bit of fat here.

Not a ton.

And the core is not bad.

Tail color looks good...

$16 a pound.

That's great. Good.

Good, man that helps.
That definitely helps.

That's good.

This is gonna be
good for morale.

Thanks guys.

Well
go mug 'em up tomorrow.

Thank you.

Jake and I needed a
boost in the arm.

We're off to a tough start
but hey, we might catch two
or three tomorrow.

So, we'll see.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Streaking down.

I'm telling you, it's
the ML man, mother lode.

Listening to who's
catching and where is
critical in this game.

You've got to follow the
fish and right now we're
hot on their tails.

We must have just missed
'em, there's three boats
tight right over there.

That's right.

Be careful now 'cause remember
now when they hook up the tide's
gonna sweep them that way.

Right. Right. Right.

So we wanna turn ahead of
them not behind them, right?

Yeah.

So
we're gonna try and swing
by and hopefully we

can get our first fish of
the season soon.

All right.

Cliff
is working out just great.

He's easy to work with.

We're marking.

We
haven't caught a fish yet.

Hopefully we can get the
skunk out of the box and
get this ball rolling.

I need to make money.

I've got bills.

I've got three little
kids in school.

We have to put fish on there.

There you go, Dave. Woo!

Got him on, Dave!

Yeah, first
tuna of the season.

All right.

Boom.

Yeah, pow goes the breaker.

That's what we
were waiting for.

There
you go, Dave! Woo!

Got him on, Dave!

Yeah, first
tuna of the season.

All right.

Boom.

Yeah, pow goes the breaker.

That's what we
were waiting for.

Right now,
super anxious to get
a fish on the boat.

If we can just break
the ice and get one
nice one on the boat,

it'll help us relax
just a little bit.

I saw one splash.

I was just about say you hit
it, and then you hit it again.

All right, Dave.

Just kind of keep us in a wide
circle going back this way.

Yeah.

Here comes
the breakaway.

We're really hoping this
is a good fish.

This is our first hook up
for the season down here
in the Outer Banks.

All
right, bump her in gear.

He's gonna be on the next one.

All right, I see
him down there.

Oh yeah.

Keep
the boat swimming this
way, all right?

So we got to
see what we actually got.

We're hoping it's a keeper.

Look like a keeper?

Oh no.

It's a short. Dammit.

- I
- don't freaking believe it.

Well it's not a keeper.

Well, we had our first
bite of the season.

Unfortunately he just
wasn't big enough so we
had to release him.

But that's how it is,
73 inches or greater or
we got to let them,

let them go so they
grow up to be reproducers.

We got the short.

I wish it was a bigger
fish, it wasn't.

Hopefully the next one will
be the one we're looking for.

We did good that time.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Everything
worked nice and smooth like it
was supposed to.

All right let's set out.

Yes sir.

- Yar.
- Yar.

I'm stoked we're staying.

Pretty sure,
Frenzy's even staying.

Yeah.

He has to though.

His title is on the line.

Yeah. He knows.

No. He hasn't said a
word on the radio to us.

Uh-uh.
He probably won't.

Uh-uh.

We got three fish.
Frenzy's got four.

I got to admit it.

I absolutely love
watching Greg squirm.

He has no idea who
he's dealing with.

He's already won it
two years in a row.

Well, there's a
new sheriff in town.

Might have to shank
somebody in the back when
no one's looking.

Sit back
and enjoy knowing that that
red boat is trembling.

You know how it is.

It doesn't take anything
for the fish to move in.

They could move
in here tonight.

We're already here.

I don't think Foolish
Pleasures going home, so.

No. I don't think so.

We got to, we got to make
sure we're fishing when
he's fishing.

It's one thing if we're
fishing next to him and
he, and he gets us.

But if we're not
here and he gets one.

That's not gonna
be a good deal.

Can't live with that.

Can't live with that at all.

I have to say I'm a little bit
surprised at how well the
Foolish Pleasures are doing.

I've never seen Greg nervous
about another boat when we're
fishing but they've definitely

opened his eyes.

We got some
food. We're good.

We can camp.

Keeps me looking over my
shoulder knowing that Foolish
Pleasures is trying to make

sure they get ahead of me.

But, it doesn't really change
the way I fish 'cause I

know that I can put
meat on the deck.

I want to fish
till it's dark, dark.

Why not I mean,
it's pretty enough.

Yeah. All right.
Yeah, I'm good with that.

I don't care if
you're good with it or not.

I'm the captain on this rig.

Frenzy
almost rhymes with pansy.

See
him in his turtleneck?

I did see him
in his turtleneck.

I think we're gonna
get a crack at 'em tonight.

It's
gonna be a long night.

Hopefully they'll bite.

We're
doing circles, and circles,
and circles like

a NASCAR race around the track.

I mean, we're looking for
tunas in the shallows and
deeps all over.

It's very important that
if we keep grinding, we're
gonna catch fish.

I mean, that's
all there is to it.

We've just had trip, after
trip, after trip with no fish.

So it's really
stressful as a captain.

Rig is out.

Rig is out,
time to do our thing.

It's going
down for real.

Just hope to get that
first fish on the deck.

You know not having a
steady paycheck's hard.

I'm gonna keep grinding it out
but if we don't get a fish
today I really don't know how

much longer I could
stay down here.

For someone like me
who's an adrenaline
junky; when it's slow,

it's boring. It's like
watching grass grow.

This
is what I got today.

I got plenty of baits.

We're
just trying to get everything
out, start fishing.

No bites yet.

There he is.

Wow! There's
the ******* mark!

There's the mark!

T! We're on brother.

Got 'em on!

Whoo. We're on.

That's the one.

Yeah, brother.

Go to work
baby. Let's go to work.

So stoked man! Aw!

No bites yet.

DUFFY
T! We're on brother.

Got 'em on!

Whoo! We're on.

That's the one.

Go to work baby.
Let's go to work.

So stoked man. Aw!

Yeah, brother.

Yeah buddy got 'em on.

If we can
catch this fish.

Southern boats are gonna
have to start looking out
for the Pinwheel.

They better be.

Feel the vibes.
Dude, I'm feeling it.

We're gonna get 'em, Duffy.

We got 'em bro.

Come
on keep reeling, brother.

Reeling in a giant
Bluefin is different than
anything else.

Running.

Screaming, brother.

Whoa! Screaming.

This is why I love fishing.

This is the adrenaline stoke.

This is the game changer.

We have 'em and we're
gonna put them on the deck.

Got 'em on, baby.

Come on now let's
get this fish.

Woo! All right.

This is big game gulf
stream fishing and we're
fighting sea monsters.

She's just dogging.

I feel like I'm pulling
dead weight up right now.

Come on
Duffy stay tight on the rod.

This fish is every
bit a $4,000 fish.

Yeah buddy.

First North Carolina
fish baby!

Break out the branding iron.

Now we're gaining on him.

We got him tipping.

Mono brother.

Nice.

About time we get
back to the mono. Woo!

I'm really excited to see
what we got on the line.

Me too.

Swivel.

Yeah buddy.

Coming up.

Oh
it's a big one!

Wow.

Stick him buddy!

Yeah!

Get the
tail gaff he's a big fish.

Big boy.

Yeah!

Yeah buddy!

Get some!

There
we go, baby. Thank you.

Thank you, thank
you Tuna Gods.

We got our first
Bluefin of the season baby.

Hell yeah! Yeah.

Wa-Bam!

Nice, tuna dude!

Big fish buddy.

Huge fish!

Wow. Monster.

That's
a big Carolina, buddy.

Nice. Yeah brother on the deck!

Dude, big tuna dude.

Yeah, dude.

Seriously man.

Big old ballyhoo eater.

Let's
measure this thing Fudgy,

I'm really excited to
see what this one is.

Let's see buddy.

I got one
baby. What do you got?

101 brother! Woo!

Yeah. Another 100-incher.

Dude,
we're getting 'em.

Yeah! Woo!

All right.

Hell yeah. Yeah baby.

We're on the board
now and we're here to stay.

First
fish of the year, dude.

Good Carolina Bluefin.

Yeah buddy!

What up, guys?

What's up, Ty?

Nothing I got a
really nice Bluefin for you.

We'll find out.

Unreal baby.

I have a feeling that this
101 incher is the start of a
very profitable season.

This might
be the biggest one this year.

Yeah.

Come on,
what is it tell me.

474 pounds dressed.

Hell yeah brother.

Yeah, big one.

Yeah, buddy.

Can we come take
a look at it or what?

Let's check it out.

All right.

Dude,
they don't make them this
big down here.

Not bad at all.

You can see it's real
oily a lot of fat in it.

Yes.

Good core.

Well you
didn't burn it.

Hey didn't
burn it. Nice cherry red.

That's beautiful.

Great color to it.

Yeah buddy.

Dude, we might have a
really good one on our hands.

Might be a diamond?

$18 a pound.

All right, bro.

Yes! Kick
butt, thank you.

Thank you so much.
I appreciate it.

Duffy's in the game.

Everybody better watch out
'cause we're here to win.

All right we're gonna
go catch a couple more of
these high dollar fish.

We got the biggest
fish of the fleet so far.

It's game time.

We're just warming up.

Turn and burn.

Yeah, baby.

What's that
over there busting water?

Where?

Right over there.

I can see, look at
them. Look at them.

They're blowing up
right here, dude.

Nice.

Those porpoises right there.

All right let's get
this thing in the water.

The tunas
should be right up here.

The fish right
here in front of us.

yeah man.

They're all over right there.

Things seem to come
together when I'm fishing
with both of these guys.

The other boats in the
fleet have no idea who
they're dealing with.

We catch fish
everywhere we go.

They don't know that.

We know that, which is
good for us and bad for them.

Holy.

What's up?

There's eight of them on
the screen right here.

There's eight
fish 100 feet down.

One, two, three, four,
five, seven of them.

Come on fish.

Come on, baby.

Show me some love.

There he is.

There
he is! We're on! We're on!

Got him on the rod!

On the stick too!

Oh, yeah doubled up!

Hell yeah boys!

Got a pair on!

Dammit.

Foolish
Pleasures, we got two on!

Foolish
Pleasures got a pair on.

Dammit.

Good God.

Might have to
crank this **** in
and run down there.

Let me know.

Keep 'em tight.

Got a
double header on here.

Try and take the
lead from old Frenzy.

Watch the lines.

Yeah. I'm watching them.

If they get tangled
up we'll lose both of them.

You know this could be $10,000
worth of fish right here.

So, we really need it.

Feels
like a nice fish.

Feels like a real nice fish.

Feels like two
nice fish actually.

Don't
tangle these lines up now.

I'm watching
her. I'm watching her mister.

Keep
them separated boys.

I mean,
they're awful close together.

All right you
want to come under, Ed?

Let me see it.
Let me see it.

Come on.

Got to keep these
things apart.

Don't let them lines touch.

We're
getting crossed up here.

Getting crossed up.
Getting crossed up.

You got it?

Yeah.

- I
- got the drag slack off.

There you go.

Hang on, Dale.

Damn.

Watch out. Watch out!

Got a
double header on here.

Oh, hang on, Dale.

Damn.

Got them all
tangled up here.

Hope we're not
gonna break them off.

Watch out! Watch out.

Turn me a little bit.

Keep doing your thing and make
sure you're paying attention
to where the line is.

Yeah just keep it tight.

Forward, Dale.

Get her on the boat.

Oh, there he is.

There he is.

Oh damn, man,
that thing is a monster.

Watch yourself.

That's a 100-incher dude.

I know, I know.

100-incher.

Come here,
Ed. Come here! Come here!

Get me a tail rope. You're
good Dale. You're good.

Watch it buddy.

Just put a rope.

Get it on.

Come on. Come on. Come on.

I got him!

That's the
money right there, son. Oh.

Things are looking good for
the old Foolish Pleasures.

It's coming together.

Looks
like Foolish Pleasures had
one tied off.

He's fighting the second fish.

Good on him in a
way and sucks that it
could've been our fish.

That put him and Frenzy
vying for the lead.

Pay a
lot of bills right here.

Yeah! Yeah!

Look right now we're
sitting tied with Frenzy.

If we can land the second
fish, it puts us on top.

This two fish can be
worth somewhere, you
know, around twenty grand.

It's enough
for me to retire.

You
ain't retiring, Ed.

Got them in
the circle here.

It's a nice fish.

That's
good. That's good. That's
good. That's good.

I got color, Dale.

Okay.

Get him. Get
him. Get him. Get him. Get him.

When that swivel gets
close crank it all the way
off, you know what I mean?

Crank it. Crank. Crank.
Crank. Crank. Crank. Crank.

Oh, don't break him
off, don't break him.

Now wind him up.
Wind him up. Wind him up.

Pretty work. Nice shot.

Tail
rope. Slack your jag off.

Pull it tight.

- A
- pair of diamonds, son.

Double-header, baby.

A double
header of a gold mine.

Yeah pretty work.
Two for two son.

Yeah.

Oh, there's
that sneaky bastard Frenzy.

He's catching
a few fish.

He's got one
hanging off the stern.

Got two of them.

Got two
of them hanging there.

Breaking
hearts today baby.

What's really bad is when you
don't have to say nothing and
they just drive by and see

them tails like a
set of earrings.

Yeah baby.

Don't bother me now.

Dumbass.

Come on fish.

Definitely want
Frenzy to lose a
little sleep over us.

I can't believe you guys
can pull that thing in.

Welcome
aboard the Pleasures.

Damn
that's a big fish.

Dude that is a fish.

Doesn't hardly
fit the damn boat.

919
and a half inches.

Yeah!

Hell
yeah, big money.

Haul him up!

Yeah. I'm ready.

Yeah, 88 inches.

88 inches?

Yeah, nice!

Good deal, yeah!

Nice.

Two big fish
man. Two big fish.

Great team work.

Means a nice
paycheck for us.

They're
round, fat, and big.

And to land a pair of
them, man, you know you
can't help but feel lucky.

I mean, it don't get
no better than that.

What's up guys?

We got a
couple fish for you.

Awesome.

We're trading
paint with Frenzy right now.

We're just about
to pass him.

Let's
get him off the boat.

Let's give
you the small one first.

Save
the best for last, right?

283 dressed.

Nice.
All right.
Hell yeah.

Money in the bank.

We're Hoping that we're
gonna get some money
for these two fish.

Twist that knife in
Greg a little bit more.

Color's a
little dark on this.

It's not too much fat in it.

But core's nice.

Nice clear core.

What do
you think we got?

$15 a pound.

- We'll take it.
- That works.

We'll take it, sold.

Now let's take a
look at the big one.

All right, let's do it.

Go ahead.

418 dressed.

Show me the money.

Gonna keep our fingers
crossed on this one.

Hopefully this fish will put
us in the lead and we're

hoping Frenzy is off
in the distance.

All in all you got
a nice colored fish here.

- Yeah.
- You know.

It's got a little bit
of oil not too much fat.

This is the kind of color
you're looking for.

$16 a pound.

Hell yeah.

Awesome, we'll take it.

That's
what I'm talking about.

We're rich.

All right nice job.

Thanks.
Thanks
guys. Appreciate it.

Thank
you very much.

I feel like
this could be our year.

There's nothing that we want
more than to win this thing.

With the
largest fish caught so far,

Pinwheel launches
into the competition.

And, for the first time this
season, reigning champion

Fishin' Frenzy is knocked out
of the top spot,

with underdog Foolish
Pleasures taking the lead.

Meanwhile, Hard Merchandise is
the only boat without a fish.

Gonna have
myself a bait rig ready here.

Cliff's definitely got a lot
of knowledge locked up in
that head of his.

He really knows his way
around the boat.

You all right?

- Yeah.
- What happened?

That thing come loose
and slapped me in the head.

It's all right go ahead.

Little strawberry on my head.

Gonna have to give
you a new nickname; Lumpy.

That thing hit me
in the head I was like

"Oh no the camera. I hope the
camera didn't see that."

That's
a Jay maneuver.

Oh man.
