I grew up listening
to his songs.

When I listen to the lyrics,

talks about a person being shy.

As a kid, I was extremely shy
about my voice.

I come on stage and I have
all this stage presence,

but I'm so bashful.

The outlet that I had
from singing,

I knew that this was something

that I needed to do
for the rest of my life.

This was my therapy.

This was my prayer corner,
something I have.

Like, I have a treasure in me.

I need the world to see it.

and she has a broad range.

It's not often
that you hear girls

who can make it
all the way down to tenor.

I've been doing music
all my life, but not singing.

One of the biggest hurdles
I had coming to "The Voice"

was knowing that eventually
I was gonna have to sing

without an instrument.

I get very nervous,

and it's almost like
the verge of a panic attack,

but then it doesn't happen
and I somehow don't pass out.

After having done the battles,

it feels good
to, like, face your fears.

So for my knockout,
I'm more comfortable

still behind the piano.

Having the instrument is
definitely part of who I am.

With the voice. Then you give me

a little bit more voice,

You've got the gears

Sid is a very soulful singer,

and I think
he can draw people in

with more than belting out.

As a pianist, as a musician,

he can create the emotion
through what he plays.

I think that you're missing
the falsetto ache, painful...

so undeniably gifted.

I just know what
a wonderful artist you are

another really great singer

The only challenge for you
is that you went against someone

who is also a miracle talent.

Very few singers can do
all of these lows down here

and all the peaks that you hit.
