The Mole (2022–…): Season 1, Episode 2 - Episode #1.2 - full transcript

[tense music playing]

[Alex] You will now be facing
elimination tonight.

The person who has
the most wrong answers on the quiz

will be eliminated
and sent home immediately.

So we only have three left.

William.

Joi.

And Osei.

I'm feeling that butterfly goosey bump.

I'm feeling like, "Yo, it might be you."

[Joi] I am confident that I named the Mole

and that I did pretty well
to move forward.

It is completely up in the air

if somebody did worse
on this quiz than I did.

The next player is Joi.

[tense music continues]

[Alex] How are you guys feeling?

You okay?
I feel great.

[Alex] William?

Nobody wants to go home,
but somebody's got to be a first.

[Alex] Our next name…

Is Osei.

[tablet chimes]

[beep]

[all gasping]

Damn.

I ain't gonna lie, man.
That cut me deep, bro.

That cut me deep.

I'm good.

- You okay?
- Yeah.

That's just insane.

Reality just set in.

- This is the first elimination.
- Yeah.

You have the least information
you're gonna have in the whole game.

Yeah.

You made a really big impression
in a really short amount of time.

I'm always grateful for whatever I get.

But at the same time, I'm annoyed
that I didn't get what I wanted.

[Dom] I'm gonna be honest.

That quiz had a lot of questions
that I did not expect.

Luckily, my gut got me
out of this one, but…

Your instincts will only take you so far.

[William] It's a weird feeling.
There's the relief, yes.

But we don't see our quiz results.

So did I just do slightly better
than Osei and I was still wrong?

Or am I onto something?

I was not expecting that.

I'm conflicted.

I love him as a friend, but it also means
that I have one less suspect.

[Alex] Brisbane, Australia.

The location
for our players' next mission.

[Kesi] Ooh.

You guys are big.

- Oh, my Lord.
- [laughter]

Let's do it.

[Joi] How did y'all feel about the quiz?

It was interesting.

- Yeah.
- It sucked.

Getting to know
these people for who they are,

but working together,

it's a weird dynamic. I can't explain it.

We're gonna have to be investigators
and constantly drill each other.

It's exhausting.

Hey, Jacob. Fire station!

We got to remember that
it's, like, us against one person.

But that one person
could be in this car too.

[Greg] My strategy is to not lie.

So you haven't lied once?

Hmm.

Okay, maybe I lied.

Yeah.
You had to think about that too hard.

[laughs]

Should we split up and watch
different people or like...?

I wanna be in a group with people
that were not in my original group.

I wanna see how other people
work under pressure.

[Avori] Forming a relationship
with someone, swapping information,

and staying loyal to each other
will win you the game.

Four eyes are stronger than two.

And I honestly don't care
if people know we're friends either.

I'll just tell them
I'm keeping my enemies close.

I fully trust and believe at this point
that Pranav is my friend

and that he is not the Mole.

Okay, pay attention.
We're turning in somewhere.

[Greg] What?

- Oh my God.
- What is this?

- Oh, my shit. We're going to jail.
- What the heck?

[suspenseful music playing]

- They put me in the jungle then prison?
- That's totally it.

[Greg] What is this place?

Is it a prison?

[Samara] Oh my God.
They would not do that to us.

[Dom] We're doing a prison break.

[Joi] I didn't do it.

[Dom] What up, Alex?

I already don't like why
she's on the other side of the gate.

[Alex] Hello, my friends.

Now, we all know that Australia
was a penal colony built by convicts.

So what better place to start
your next mission than right here?

Brisbane's most notorious jail.

The abandoned Boggo Road.

In jail, you need to know
who you can trust,

just like in this game,

where, may I remind you,
one of you is not like the others.

One of you…

Is the Mole.

Come on through the gate.

Please join me in the prison yard.

The first thing
you're going to need to do,

decide amongst yourselves

the two players among you
who you trust the most.

These two are the designated
masterminds of the mission.

Go ahead.

Who do we trust? Who's trustworthy?

I think the two people we nominate
are gonna have to use their wits.

Yeah, I think so too.

[Kesi] I wanted to pick the players
that we trust the least,

the people that
I am considering to be the Mole.

Because if you put them
in the spotlight, it makes it a lot harder

for them to make the decisions
that they perhaps normally would.

What about Avori and Pranav?

[Jacob] What?

[Dom] All right.

[Jacob] You said trustworthy, right?

[Joi] I say Dom.

- I'm gonna vote Dom.
- [Kesi] I'm cool with Dom.

Cool with Dom.

Yeah, I'm on board with Dom.

[Joi] I don't think Dom is the Mole.

I trust Dom. He is a competitor.
He wants that money. He wants it.

That was a good decision.

[Pranav] I do find it really interesting

that Joi is the person that nominates Dom,

just because someone
who nominates someone else

might be someone
who doesn't wanna get nominated.

Should we balance it with a girl?

[Samara]
Yeah, I'm either going Casey or Kesi.

I think Casey.

Casey is very vocal.

She's more outspoken than Kesi.

So I would prefer her.

I like her. I trust her.

How do you feel, Casey?

You guys trust me.

[Avori] That's like
the worst thing to say.

"You trust me."

All right.

[Casey] I was able to gain trust
because I got to know these people.

- You ready?
- Yeah.

There we go. We got 'em.

You're gonna win this game
if you learn about the people you're with.

[Alex] Casey. Dom.

You two will be the masterminds
of this mission, which is

a jailbreak.

[Jacob] Yes!

Yes!

I knew it. It's a prison break.

We breaking out of jail, baby.

I know some people are scared.
Some are frightened. Some are nervous.

I've been dying to do a jailbreak
since I watched Shawshank Redemption.

[Alex] Masterminds.

Your first job will be
to divide this group of players

into three groups of three.

Choose wisely.

All right, give us one second.
Let's talk it out.

You know what would be messed up?

If one of them was the Mole.

[Greg] I'm going into this mission
with an open mind.

Hopefully, we didn't put the Mole

in a leadership position
because then this would just be a layup.

Okay, guys. We need a decision.

Cool. All right.

Team One. We want Jacob,
Pranav, and Sandy.

[Alex] You are in Cell Block F.

[Casey] From our mission in the jungle,

Pranav and Jacob worked
really well together.

Sandy, she's fierce,
she's smart, she's flexible.

Team Two.

Will, Avori, sweet and savory, and Samara.

[Alex] You are in Cell Block E.

[Casey] Will's definitely got strength.
Avori's got the gamer mindset.

And Samara, she wants to win.

Team Three.

Kesi, Greg, and Joi.

[Alex] You are in Cell Block D.

[Dom] Game play aside,
Greg doesn't really do a lot.

He plays to the crowd.
You know, he wants to look good.

Joi is someone who costed us
a lot of money in the last mission.

I don't know if I trust those two.

It can work to my benefit.

If this group makes it out last,

that just narrows down my decision
on who the Mole is even more.

In some ways,
I'm hoping they make it back.

And in some ways, I'm hoping they don't.

If all three groups escape
within one hour,

then $10,000 will be added
to the prize pot.

- If one team fails, no money?
- Correct.

Good luck, guys. Let's go.

Three groups are located
in three identical cell blocks.

[Sandy] My gosh. It's the real deal.

[Alex] You'll all be locked
in individual cells.

[door slams]

[Alex] Only way out
is to find the key to unlock your cell.

[exhales]

[Alex] Each cell block has identical items

that you must use to retrieve your key.

What the hell am I supposed
to do with this?

[siren blaring]

Okay. There's your starting siren.

There you go.

[Greg] Are you guys on the first floor?

Oh my God! You're on the second floor?

[Greg] I'm on the second floor.

Let me know if you find
anything significant.

[Joi] Kesi, you're right across from me.
I'm looking at you through this hole.

I can see you.

Kesi, do you see a lock on my door?

Yeah, you definitely have
a lock on your door.

Do you see anything outside my door, Joi?

[tense music playing]

[Joi] No.

I have two tin cans and a toothbrush,
and I have a red key.

A red what?

There is a red key
that's dangling from a chain.

- That I can't reach.
- Can you jump?

No.

Ay-ay-ay.

I'm with Joi and Greg.

[Kesi] Greg, did you hear her?

Yes, I heard!

I have three photos of prisoners.

I have not been a group
with either of them before.

So it was an incredible opportunity
to watch two players up close

and see how they would behave.

Joi, you might be the first one
that has to get out.

Yeah. I'm trying to reach this key.

How can you not reach it?

It's hanging pretty high. Stand by.

Samara?

Yep.

[William] What do you have on your desk?

There's two canteens and a toothbrush.

There's no chess set on your desk?

No. There's a key dangling up here.

[grunts] Yeah, no, can't reach it.

Avori!

Hey!

I have a broken stool,
and I have a screwdriver.

Okay, I got a chess set.

And I'm not sure
if these pieces play a role.

There's no such thing as team
while you're working with the team here.

Anybody could be the Mole at this point.

All you know is somebody
is gonna stand out somewhere,

and that is what we're looking for.

The pieces are magnetic,
but the chess board isn't.

So I don't know what that could mean.

Why are these magnetic?

[Pranav] Does it look like it's too high
for you to reach in general?

[exclaims in frustration]

[Pranav]
It's not worth going down that road.

Why do I have a stool?

Just keep looking around your rooms.

[Jacob] I went through mine.
There's nothing.

Once I finish destroying my room…

Looks like I murdered
a damn chicken in here.

[Sandy] You got a key?

[Jacob]
I don't even see a key in the cell.

Only thing I could think was

I need to check
around the outside of my cell.

- Sandy.
- Yeah?

My key's out here on the floor.

That has to be my cell key.

Jacob, what's your...?

What's going on? Just talk through it.

Hold on! He has a key
outside of his door. He's trying to reach.

[Jacob] That's not gonna be enough.

Throw something. Throw your Bible.

Do it as hard as you can on the ground.

[Sandy] Oh!

- Oh, God.
- [Pranav] Careful.

[Sandy] I can try to get his key closer
to the door so he can reach for it.

[Sandy] Ooh!

I have my shoe I can throw.

[Sandy grunts]

[Jacob] Man, that's just bad luck.

[grunts, frustrated]

Hey, I have a toothbrush.
Want me to try and throw it?

[Jacob] No, it's probably
the same as mine.

[Sandy] You're moving it. It's moving.

[Alex] Okay, masterminds.

Let's play some mind games.

You have the opportunity to double the pot

to $20,000.

All you have to do
is take ten minutes off the clock.

But the teams inside won't know
that the time has been taken off.

We can't hear anything.
We can't see anything.

We're betting blind here.

I don't want to cheat us out of $10,000.

But is ten minutes gonna
make that difference?

- They all have to come back to get 10,000.
- Yeah.

They all have to come back
for us to get 20,000.

We don't get anything
unless we all succeed.

[Dom] Casey. Casey, Casey.

She always wants to do the right thing.

Or she's doing the right thing because
she's the Mole and wants to look good.

If they come back and say that
ten minutes would've made a difference,

I will feel guilty.

If you could do it in 60,
you could do it in 50.

- [Casey] Are you down to do it?
- You already know how I roll.

Okay.

I have faith in our team.

- [Dom] Call me double down dog.
- What's your decision?

- You'll go for it?
- Double down.

- [Dom] Let's do it.
- Yep.

[Alex] You've taken
ten minutes off the clock.

[tense music playing]

I really wish we knew
how much time we have.

I... I don't feel any closer!

Joi, you might be the first one
that has to get out, okay?

Okay, over.

[Kesi] Joi is someone
I'm keeping my eye on.

I found it really strange

that she wasn't giving
a lot of input to help us.

Joi, maybe you can use
your sheet to get the key?

I... I don't know. I don't know.

If you can see your key, you have
the best chance of getting out.

Do you have anything long
that you can reach with?

I have this toothbrush.

[Kesi] It seems very Mole-like.

Do you have, like,
a long stick, pole, something?

Keep a cool head, Joi.

[William] Avori! Samara!

Take your bed apart.

I'm meant to be taller!

[William] I'm tearing apart the sheets.
I'm tearing apart the bed.

I'm thinking it's gonna be
something we find.

Maybe it's outside of the cell.

Samara, come here.

What is right here next to my door?

I can see a little piece of something
that looks like a ring that'd hold a key.

Do you see right here on the bottom left?
The circle thing?

- Yeah.
- What is it?

I can't tell.
It looks like a big hair tie.

Is there a key attached to it?

No.

There's nothing
on this circle knob right here?

No.

[William] It looks like a hair tie.

So, I'm like, "Okay, then
I'm not gonna worry about it now."

"Maybe it's somewhere else."

[sighs] Come on!

[Sandy] Jacob, if we can get that key,

you can unlock yourself
and then get my key.

[Jacob] Yeah, I'm with you there.

Let's give this a try.

[Sandy] Pranav, he got two blankets
together with something hooked at the end,

and he's trying to swing it back and forth

to try to get his key closer
to the door so he can reach for it.

[Jacob] We might be onto something.

As a firefighter, I am trained
to be calm, cool, collected,

and assess every situation.

[Sandy] You're almost there, Jacob.
Keep reaching.

[Jacob] Ah-ha!

I am good in high stress.

No, I am not the Mole.
I am good in high stress. [Chuckles]

[Sandy] Did you get it, Jacob?

- Almost!
- Oh, thank God.

[tense music playing]

[Jacob] Got it.

Thank God.

What can I say? I'm a genius.

[unlocks]

[Sandy] Oh! You got it!

Oh, yes!

[screams] Help me!

I'm gonna drop stuff in here, okay?

Pranav, I'm giving Sandy stuff
to try to get her key out.

[Pranav] Can you reach it?

I got my key!

[Jacob laughs]

[Sandy] Yes!

- [Jacob] Now we gotta go help Pranav.
- [Sandy] Okay.

[Pranav]
Can't see a key anywhere in my room.

Tell us the cells that you were saying.

[Pranav] Frank is in 15.
Francis is in 17. Bill is in 18.

[Jacob] Let's figure it out.

[Sandy] Here's 17.

[unlocks door]

[Sandy] It's pitch dark.
You can't see anything.

Fifteen, 17, and 18.

[intense music playing]

Hold on.

I found a key,
I found a key, I found a key!

It was in the Bible. Where are you?

Got it.

[unlocks door]

[Sandy] Let's go, guys.
Yes!

Yes, we did it!

Woo-hoo! Yay!

[excited scream]

My team dynamic was fantastic.
The Mole definitely wasn't in my group.

Remember, unless all of you are out,

none of you win.

Come on, y'all. Let's make a move.

The chess board has to mean something.

Anything else magnetic
in your room? Besides that?

It's all I got right now.

[Avori] Why is this stool here?

It's gotta be something.

Avori, how much time
do you think we got left?

Not long. We've been
in here for a long time.

[William] I may have made a mess
in my room for no reason.

But I'm not leaving any stone unturned.

My only other option now that I'm thinking

is I literally try and scoop
this thing outside of my room.

[Samara] That circle?

[William] I'm trying something stupid now.
I have no idea if it's gonna work.

I put a magnet on the end.

Tell me if I'm anywhere near this thing.

All right, go to your left.

Wait. Right there.

Okay, you got it, you got it, you got it.

[William] I have a key.

- [Samara] Shit.
- [William] Yeah.

Samara saying it's not the key.

Absolutely Mole behavior.

Whoops.

- [William] Let's go!
- Let's go!

Let's go!

- Let's go!
- Let's go!

[William] Avori, where are you?

[Samara] Check those cells.

[Avori] Eighteen, 19, and 20.

[William] Wait, not this one?

Based off of the information we have,

my stool is supposed
to be to get Samara's key.

[William] Sixteen. Let's go this way.

[yells]

Oh, God. There's a Bible.

Is there a key in there?

Yeah. Come on!

[Samara] Come get me!

- Here.
- Screwdriver.

[William] There was no possible way
Samara could get to that key

unless I got her that stool.

How do you take it apart?

I got this.
Maybe it's supposed to make me...

So we just have to hand her the legs.
She's got the top in there.

[William] Hold it! Stop, stop! Come on.

[Kesi] Joi?

It's impossible.

I definitely need something
to stand on to get the key.

I have a stool!

I need that stool!

God.

[Alex] Which team
needs help in their escape?

Is there anyone in there you don't trust?

Yeah. I mean, I don't trust anyone.

Me, personally, Cell Block D.

Just because I haven't had an opportunity
to have conversations with Greg

or, really, with Joi.

So those two I'm a little bit iffy on.

Cell Block D.
All eyes are on you right now.

And this is an opportunity for us to see

which one of those three people
could potentially be the Mole.

If they don't get out,
zero dollars for the prize pot.

I have another deal to make you.

For $1,000,

I can sell you a clue.

I'm good to just leave it.

I think we should do it.
That still puts us ahead.

I don't even know
what his game plan is because

I'm worried they're not gonna come out
and then we lose all of our money.

This is potential Mole activity.

But if he is, it'll blow my mind.

I'll take responsibility.

Yeah. Let's do it.

[Dom] The Mole's job is to take off
as much money as they can bit after bit.

Is Casey the Mole?

[sucks teeth]

All right. Here we go.

[phone ringing]

What?

There's a phone in my room.

What?

Oh heck, you know.

Hello?

Your masterminds have bought you a clue.

Freedom is right outside your door.

The chess pieces are magnetic.

[Joi] What is that, Kesi?

[Kesi] Oh my God, Joi.
This is literally a key.

That's a key?

[Kesi] I think it's suspicious that
Joi didn't immediately see the key.

It's been lying there the entire time.

I completely don't buy it.

[Joi] Kesi, hurry!

[Avori] You gotta hand it to her in parts.

Keep going, Avori. Keep going.

- I can fish this through like this.
- Yep, perfect.

[William] You got it?

- Come on, Samara.
- You got this, girl.

[William] You get it down now.

Got it, got it.

- Let's go!
- [Samara screams]

Go, go, go, go!

[Alex] Here comes the next team.
All right, you guys did it!

Will, Samara, and Avori.

Clock is winding down.

You got a team inside.

If they don't get out,
zero dollars for the prize pot.

- It's all in their hands now, isn't it?
- It is.

[tense music playing]

Dude, we just need ten more minutes.

I think we're so there.

[Joi] Over to the right.

More. Yeah. Right there.

You got it?

- Yes!
- [excited shriek]

Shut up! Let's go!

Come get me!

Got it!

Greg, what cell are you in?

- I'm here!
- [Kesi] Give me your cell numbers again.

Twenty, 21, 17.

[Joi] Kesi, hurry!

Hurry!

I'm looking through the cells!

Ugh!

[screams] Yes! Wait.

Yes!

Come get me out of here!

We have to pass her the pieces
of the stool through here.

- You got it?
- Yeah. Oh!

[Greg] Okay. Listen to me.

This is literally IKEA furniture
like our life depended on it, okay?

Okay.

This is officially one minute to go, guys.

We really need them to come back.

Our efforts are in vain
if they're not back.

Yeah, we need them back.

What if I were to offer you
5,000 for five minutes?

I'd do it now. Yes.

I'll hold strong.

If we can do anything to get them out,
that's what we need to do.

We've got two teams out.

Unfortunately, I have one of two choices.

I don't make the deal,
I lose all the money.

Or I make the deal and we're down $5,000.

5,000 for five minutes.

- You want in?
- Do it.

You're buying five minutes.

So we've given them
a little bit more time.

[Dom] The Mole got what they wanted
in that sense.

The deal is done.
We're spending that 5,000.

[Greg] What are you doing?

[William] There's no way
they don't have at least two people out.

- [Jacob] Yeah, they gotta have two.
- [William] This is a joke.

[Greg] And then this, the one
she just passed you before,

is the horizontal support
and I'm passing this right now.

No need to be perfect.

[Joi] It doesn't have to be pretty.
I just need to get up there.

- Let's go, guys! Come on!
- Come on!

[Pranav] Let's go!

[Greg] Can you reach it?

[Joi] I'm trying to get it untangled.

[Greg] Let's go!

Here. Get me out of here.

[Greg] Get her out!

[Joi] Hurry!

Let's go!

Go!

- [Alex] Here comes the third team.
- [all cheering]

[cheering]

[triumphant music playing]

- Oh my God.
- Oh my God.

Guys, you're out.

[all cheering]

[Alex] Now, there was actually
20 grand up for grabs tonight,

because your masterminds took
a gamble to double what was on offer.

But to ensure you all made it out,

they had to sacrifice
some money along the way.

[Joi] After this mission,

I am not believing
members of my own team.

And I'm thinking
Kesi freaking saw that key.

She saw the key.
She could possibly be the Mole.

So on your escape,

you were left with
$14,000 from this mission.

Let's go! Yes!

Your current prize pot is now worth

$26,500.

- [clapping]
- [Alex] Okay?

- Yay!
- [Alex] That is a lot of money.

Let's go to a very nice hotel
for a little bit of luxury.

[Sandy] I'm happy. Everybody's happy.

We're all cheering. I mean,
it's a great amount of money.

I messed up that pillow. [Chuckles]

[Jacob] I'm still pulling feathers.

Yeah, you have some
all over the back of your head.

[intense music playing]

[Avori] I play video games for a living,

and this is the most insane game
I've ever played in my life.

[Samara] Someone here is the Mole

and they're trying to sabotage
every move we make.

You learned anything yesterday
from the mission?

I'm not really suspecting Sandy
as much as I was.

[Pranav] Yeah, I agree.
She did really well.

You know, if we think
that she's not the Mole,

it's better to keep people's suspicions
high on her and be like,

"Sandy didn't do much."

Oh, for sure. For sure.

How you feeling this morning?

I'm okay.

Last night was hard.

- Last night was intense.
- Yeah.

It was a good lesson for me to learn
about how people are playing this game.

[chuckling]

You gotta crack a couple eggs
to make an omelet.

Let's talk about suspicious.

I find it unbelievable that
Samara couldn't see the key,

and that's probably exactly why
you can't trust anybody in this game.

- Hey, y'all.
- Ooh.

- Morning, shawty.
- Hey!

Maybe she is the Mole.

- [giggles]
- Come on now.

[sets car alarm]

[Alex] To celebrate such hard-won freedom,
the players have been invited

for a night out.

[automated voice]
The route is calculating.

I'm Dom Cruise, baby.

[Alex] But in this game,
nothing is ever what it seems.

Pranav is Daddy. I'm Mommy.
You guys are the kids in the backseat.

I think we're making a left…

- Making a left now?
- Up here. Yeah.

Get in this lane.

[laughing] You really
don't want Joi doing the map.

[Joi] Shut up, Will.

With this crew, dinner parties
start out one way and then…

There's something that happened.

[Greg] Some unexpected hors d'oeuvre.

[Casey] It's so early in the game.

It's hard for me to trust anyone.

That doesn't mean I can't be their friend.

I'm good with boats.
I used to work on cruise ships.

So I'm good with boats.

What did you do on cruise ships?

Part of this game is observation

and becoming friends with these people.

It's a double-edged sword.

[automated voice]
Continue straight along this road.

[Greg] I have no idea where we're going.

This is The Blair Witch Project right now.
We are literally alone in the woods.

[Joi] Where do y'all think we're going?

[chuckling] I'm tuned in 'cause
I'm legitimately nervous

for where we're going right now.

This GPS is taking us out in the boonies.

Like, I don't know what's going on.

If we walk into another mission,
I'm not prepared. I have heels on.

[automated voice]
You have reached your destination.

[William] We're here?

[Dom] It says we've arrived, yeah?

[William] Where's the other group?

- Aw, man.
- What?

It's spooky. It's eerie.
I got my head on a swivel for sure.

- [Samara] You're not scared, are you?
- [William] That's not it.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Alex] Car One.

- Oh my God!
- You must make your way to Sector 31.

[murmuring]

Thirty-one.

[Dom] Watch your step.

What is in here?

It's like a horror movie.

This is some sort
of laboratory or something?

[Samara] Oh my gosh.

I'll wait out here when the doors close.

[Dom] What the...?

"Enter password."

[automated voice]
You have reached your destination.

What is this?

- [Pranav] Where are we?
- [Casey] Yeah, what the hell?

[Avori] This place is creepy.

[Alex] Car Two. You must go to Sector 45.

[Greg] What the...?

- [Casey] Sector 45. This way, guys.
- [Pranav] What is this place?

One thing's for sure.
We gotta know what goes in here,

what the password is,
we gotta figure that out.

[tense music playing]

[Alex] Let's get this party started.

Fuck! God. Sorry.

That was...

[Alex] Attention, players.

I have good news

and I have bad news.

The good news is that this might be
the easiest mission ever.

That sounds good.

Do nothing for the next 45 minutes

and $10,000 will be added to the pot.

Easy.

Right?

And the bad news?

The bad news.

There's a quiz tonight.

And one of you will be eliminated.

What?

I'm just not ready to go home yet.
I want to stay in this game.

In front of you all

is a big red button.

If one of you presses it
in the next 45 minutes,

your entire team will receive
an exemption from the quiz tonight.

But $10,000 will not be added to the pot.

[Avori]
Everyone's in this game for themselves.

That's all that's on my mind
is we got to get that exemption.

[Alex] If both groups
decide to push the button,

the team that pushes it first
will be the one to avoid elimination.

To push the red button,

you'll need to activate it first.

It's protected by a password.

That password is close at hand.

Nearby is a room.

Inside that room is a table.

You'll find what you need
to work out that password

in that table.

Once again, you're locked up.

And now you have to choose.

Do the time and win the money,

or do the crime
and win a shot at exemption.

To keep you honest,

the phone lines will be
automatically connected

every ten minutes.

Two players from each team
must remain with the phone at all times.

Your time starts now.

Some of my best work.

- First...
- It's in a room near us.

- [Avori] Let's go to the room.
- Wait.

No, I'm going to the room.
Who's coming with?

- Pranav?
- [Pranav] I want to go.

Let's... Let's go.

[Casey] We'll stay. You guys go.
We'll trade out, okay?

Right now, I have confidence
in what we're doing as a team.

Because if they push the button first...

- Then it's one of us.
- Then it's one of us.

[Pranav]
Didn't they say something about a desk?

On a desk is everything we need?

I feel like that's a temptation,
we're not supposed to touch that button.

[Joi] I would rather
put the money in the pot.

Oh, yes. We're here for the money.

Oh, I got something.

- Do we have a periodic table?
- Yeah. Right here.

[Pranav] We start figuring it out.
I see Post-its with a bunch of formulas.

[Avori] Calcium plus nickel plus…

[Pranav] Plus neon equals…

I immediately know that all
these elemental names are gonna...

Abbreviations are gonna form words.

We know we need a password.

These are circled for a reason.

- Radium, boron, nitrogen.
- [Avori] Brain.

- [Pranav] Brain?
- [Avori] B-R-A-I-N. Brain.

It's right there. Brain.

- It says it right there. Brain.
- Yeah.

Everything you need is on the table.

[Sandy] Pranav is a human computer.

[Pranav] Okay. I'm gonna go try it, okay?

Anything that comes out
of his mouth, like, he's so smart.

We didn't waste any time.
I think we got it.

- [alarm blares]
- [Pranav] What?

So we basically only have,
like, two more tries.

[all exhaling]

[Dom] Let's all just chill.

- That's how I feel.
- [Joi] Yeah.

We hit that button,

we take money away from the pot.

That's what a Mole would do.

[William] I would always opt to put
as much money in as possible.

I'd just cross my hands and do nothing.

All we can do is just keep
our fingers crossed and hope that

the other group genuinely wants
to do the right thing.

Nitrogen is just N.

U-N.

Rhenium. Re.

Unreal. This one says "unreal."

Uranium, nitrogen, rhenium, and aluminum.

- [alarm blares]
- What?

Hold on. I'll be back.

[Greg] My strategy is,

the phone is gonna ring
at a designated point.

We are pushing the button,
but it needs to be believable

that we are not pushing the button.

- Got it?
- [Casey] Yes. Okay.

[Greg] This is a plain and simple
game of bluff.

[phones ringing]

[automated voice]
Your phones are now connected.

I'm sure you have lots to talk about.

- Hello?
- Hello.

Hey, who is this?

- Hey, this is Joi. What's up?
- I don't know.

Like, what is the T?
What is your group doing?

We had a powwow earlier
and we all said that

we're here for the money.

What are you guys doing?

My aim is to maintain trust
with the other group.

So I'm going to be completely honest
about what I'm doing.

If all we got to do is sit around
and get the money…

- Yeah.
- Like, why not?

So you guys aren't actively
searching for the password?

No.

I'm sitting in the chair.
I'm talking to them on the phone.

I'm not working on the code.

Okay, let's talk to Jacob.

- Greg.
- Are you guys just chilling?

[Greg] We got everybody here.

I think that should show
a good sign of faith.

It seems like they're passing
the phone around the other room.

So they haven't started
the mission yet whereas

we're already cracking the code.

My game plan is working perfectly.

[Jacob] All right. So let's reconvene
at the next phone call.

[Greg] Yeah.

I'll be here.

[Jacob] I'm starting to sweat. [Chuckles]

[William] It's a game of trust.

- I found another one.
- [Pranav] Bring it here.

- [Sandy] Potassium's just P, right?
- [Pranav] No, K.

This is berserk.

Like, the word "berserk."

Is it worth a try? Those two agree.

If this tells me
there's a limited amount of tries,

then it's a stupid idea and I apologize.

There we go. Now we know.

[Avori] You get locked out for one minute.
It's like a cell phone.

Okay. Let's get gung-ho about this.

[phones ringing]

[phones ringing]

- Hello?
- Hello.

- Hey, this is Greg.
- What up, Greg?

- Can I talk to Dom?
- [Dom] Hello?

Hey, Dom. Let's just do
what it takes to get the money.

So from my end, it's a no-brainer.

You know, let's just chill.

So you guys want to chill?

That's where your whole team stands?

I am here to talk.

[Dom] I noticed Greg is using words like,

"I am waiting," "I am not doing anything,"

specifically not using words
like "we" aren't doing anything.

Where's your team?

Where's my team? We're right here.

Who do you wanna talk to?

Shh.

I wanna hear a "hey!" from everybody.

Okay. You wanna hear "hey" from everybody?

- Okay.
- Yeah.

Here's Pranav.

Okay.

Hey, bro.

[Greg] I have to stay with Pranav
'cause there has to be two of us here.

Casey needs to bring everyone back
so we can yell out to Dom.

What's up, guys?

- Nothing. We're just...
- Okay.

What have you guys done?

Hey, everybody's there? At the same time?

I'm not, but people are in the room.

You're not in the room?

I mean, I'm talking to you,
so I'm not in the room.

Like, I'm not in wherever people...

Yeah, but I'm saying, like, your team.

Yeah.

Is that your game plan too?
I figured that'd be everyone's game plan.

That what we wanna do?

I feel like I've blown my cover.

- [line cuts off]
- Hello?

They didn't come in time.

He said, "Where are the rest? Put 'em on."
What am I to do?

I thought Casey was gonna get everybody.

What is she doing there?

Is Casey trying to sabotage us?
I have no idea.

She just fucking blew it!
She blew it. They believed me.

- That felt like a setup to me.
- [Samara] They're lying.

They want us to be sitting ducks to get...

[Dom] Exactly.

[Jacob] Greg's lying to us.

He was there as a distraction.

I don't trust him one bit.

Because he's the Mole, duh.

I think we try to beat 'em to the punch.

So, let's go. I'll go. Me, Jacob and...

- Go first?
- Yeah.

[William] Come on. Let's go.

[tense music playing]

[William] As soon as we found out that
the other team was blatantly lying,

we knew it was a race.

[Jacob] Hey, did you guys notice?

They got that over there,
but also have it here.

This is B-R-A-I-N.

Where's neon? Ne. Plus O.

Where's nitrogen?

It's N. It spells "neon."

- We can try that for sure.
- [William] Yeah. Let's go.

- [Kesi] Should we try?
- [Jacob] Brain?

[tense music playing]

- [Jacob] Try neon. N-E-O-N.
- Was that not it?

[William] What are you typing?

Uh, no. Neon. I don't...

[Jacob] No. N-E-O-N.

I know, but I don't think
it'd be the element, you know?

"You have been locked out..." What?!

No way!

[Pranav] Fluorine is just F, isn't it?

- [Avori] Yes.
- [Pranav] F-A-C-E-S.

Oh, that's "faces."

[Pranav] F-A-C... Faces! Plural.

[Sandy] What's your plan?

Let me take some of these.
If I figure them out, I'll enter 'em.

But we got to move quick.

[Dom] Potassium's K.

[Samara] K-N-I-F-E. Knife.

[Dom] Comes down to a game of speed.

Who can figure it out the fastest.

All the words we found,
I'm putting them on the board.

Guys, it's gonna be a sentence.

We should start decoding
what the sentence is.

- [Pranav] Hack.
- [Avori] Hack icon wise?

Oh, shit.

I think we try "mole."

[Sandy] Okay.

We're really grasping at straws now.

So we try the obvious. Mole.

[Alex] Players, time is running out.

Just ten minutes remain
to find the password in the table.

[Dom] All right, somebody head back.

When I say in the table, I mean

in the table.

Wait, wait.

What'd she just say?

[Joi] Inside of it.

[tense music rising]

Oh my God.

[Pranav] Open the frame.

- [Greg] Try it. Oh, damn.
- [alarm blares]

One minute.

Inside the periodic table?

[Joi] Yeah, inside of it. Break it, maybe?

[Avori] Yes. Here.

[Casey] Oh my God. Sulfur.

- [Avori] Oh my God.
- Right there.

Come on, come on, come on!

[Joi] Aluminum's AL, it's why.

[Dom] So?

Come on, Kesi. Come on, Kesi.

- Now.
- [Pranav] Sulfur.

It says S-A-L. Vanadium. V. Vanadium.

[Casey] V!

[Pranav] The symbols of these
chemical elements spell the password.

Salva… Salvation!

- I got it.
- [Casey] Go, go, go!

[Joi] S-A-L-A…

- [Greg] We're locked out.
- [Sandy] We're locked out for a minute.

- Come on! No!
- Y'all told me to try it.

[tense music rising]

- Y'all told me to try it.
- [Pranav] I have it.

- [Avori] Locked out.
- [Greg] Almost up.

If we lose this, that is the reason why.

Sal... Salvation. Salvation!

Go, go, go, go!

[Dom] Salvation! Salvation! Salvation!

- [Greg] It's almost up.
- [all] Salvation!

- Salvation!
- Salvation!

I-O-N.

[all] Go, go, go!
[chimes]

Oh my God!

[closing theme music playing]
