The Herculoids (1967–1969): Season 1, Episode 8 - The Gladiators of Kyanite/Temple of Trax - full transcript

NARRATOR: Somewhere out in
space live the Herculoids.

Zok, the laser ray dragon.

Igoo, the giant rock ape.

Tundro, the tremendous.

Gloop and Gleep,
the formless, fearless wonders.

With Zandor, their leader.

And his wife, Tara
and son, Dorno.

They team up to protect their
planet from sinister invaders.

All strong,
all brave, all heroes.

They are "The Herculoids."

Rodak, your viewer.
A Herculoid is near.

Good. That is
the one we will take.

DORNO: The gladiators of
Kyanite.

They only come here when they
need someone for their games.

Fire the tranquil beam.

TARA: They're after Tundro.

He fights well.

Not even our tranquil beam
could hold him.

Yes. Neron will be pleased.
Cage him.

TARA: The gladiators
have got him.

Dorno, signal Zandor.

They've taken Tundro
to the arenas of Kyanite.

Zok and I will
go on ahead, Tara.

Dorno, you follow
with the rest of the Herculoids.

Right, Zandor.

An excellent choice.

He will give
our gladiators a fierce fight

before they dispose of him.

Now, let the games begin.

Explosions from the arena.
Hurry, Zok.

Ha! I have him.

There's Tundro.
Not a second to lose.

Who are these intruders?

The man is Zandor.

And the flying creature
is another Herculoid.

That's right, Neron.
And we are leaving your games.

Then, you must fight
your way out.

They're surrounding us.

ALL: For Neron.

ALL: For Neron.

Zandor!

More Herculoids.

Good. Then, let them
all be defeated.

Two down and four to go.

The Herculoids have defeated
your gladiators, Neron.

Now, we shall leave.

You and your Herculoids will
never leave the arena, Zandor.

For you have yet to meet
my champions, Rodak and Ticon.

For you, my laser spear.

No mere beast can defeat Rodak.

Now, it is my turn.

Sssss

Now, all your champions
have been defeated

by the Herculoids, Neron.

True, Zandor, but it is you
who will pay the price.

Zok, the sword.

There goes Neron.
He's escaping.

It doesn't matter, Dorno.

As long as he's gone

the threat of these
deadly games has ended forever.

Strangers come.
To your places.

- Where are we?
- I don't know.

Maybe Zandor can tell us.

And here he is now.

Zandor, where are we?

ZANDOR: This is all that remains
of a lost civilization.

What's that
awful-looking thing up there?

ZANDOR: That is Trax, Dorno.

It's the idol they used
to sacrifice their enemies to

thousands of years ago.

Fortunately,
that's all over now.

We shall see.

We shall see.

Once we're over that
mountain range, we'll be home.

I'll scout ahead.

Be careful.

We will, Zandor.

Let's go, Igoo.

So Zandor leaves.

Now.

- What is it, Gloop?
- Look.

Two of them...moving.
They're alive!

Atta boy, Tundro.

Igoo, call Zandor.

I hope Zandor hears that, Tara.

She's gone.

That was Igoo's call.

Zok, we've got to backtrack
as fast as we can.

There must be
a secret door here somewhere.

A passageway. Come on.

Quick. We've gotta find Tara.

Igoo, look out.

Thanks, Gloop.
We almost lost Igoo.

Passageway continues
on the other side of that pit.

We've gotta get across.

Do you think
you can make it, Igoo?

Easy now, Tundro.

Igoo, the edge is cracking.

Igoo!

Hang on, we're coming.

DORNO: Come on,
let's keep going.

Where are we?

Man 1 : You are in the
sacrificial chamber

where those to be sacrificed
wait their turn.

Escape while you can, Dorno.

Tara!

There is no escape.

DORNO: We're trapped.

What's that?

We've gotta get out of here.

Come on, Gloop.
I've got an idea.

Going up.

The door controls are up here.

Here goes.
I hope I have the right one.

DORNO: Going down.

After 2000 years,
Trax will live again.

Ah! Oh!

DORNO: Stop!

I said stop.

It's too late.

Already the hands
of Trax close in to claim

his first victim
in 2000 years.

And no one interferes.

They must not interfere.

Trax is not to be denied.

Look, the hands.

Ah! Oh! Oh!

What do you think
happened to him?

These ancient cities had many
subterranean chambers, Tara.

Well, I don't wanna
see any more of 'em.

Look out, Igoo.

You can say that again, Igoo.
