The Bachelor NZ (2015–…): Season 1, Episode 12 - Episode #1.12 - full transcript

On tonight's spectacular date, sparks fly as Arthur soars sky high with one bachelorette. Then a daring double date creates turmoil for the girls and a shock rose ceremony sends a favourite packing.

(Mike)
Previously on "The Bachelor.."

on an explosive second date..

(Art)
It's like being in a movie.

(Mike)
Alysha dropped a bombshell.

- So are you married?
- Sorry.

It would have been helpful
if she had told me earlier.

(Mike) But the fallout
was short-lived.

(Art) The kiss was
well worth the wait.

(Mike)
Then, a cocktail party kiss..

(Matilda) Oh, my God,
she's all over it.

(Mike)
Caused havoc among the girls.

There's definitely a time and
place and this isn't it.

(Mike) And Nat's nerves
proved her downfall.

So I just had a barrier up
pretty much the entire time.

(Mike)
Tonight, Arthur lifts

old-fashioned romance
to a new level.

(Art) Just sitting on
the outside of a plane.

(Mike)
And lands a priceless moment.

I think that was way overdue.

(Mike) A group date
with a difference..

I'm so worried now.

That is a really weird date.

(Mike) And at the cocktail
party, emotions spill over.

I don't want to punch
you right now.

Really?

(Mike)
As secrets come to the surface.

I don't really like
being called a liar.

Is this directed at me?

Can we all just kiss
him and be happy?

[instrumental music]

(Art)
There are five girls remaining

and in a few days
I'm gonna be visiting

the homes of just four of them.

So that means I'm gonna have
to say goodbye to one of them

and right now, I just don't
know who that's gonna be.

Such a small little group now.

- I know.
- I know.

Just like a basketball team.

- A little basketball team.
- Yeah!

A little starting five.

(Dani)
There is only five girls left.

Everything's getting
a lot more serious now.

- Hello, hello.
- Hello.

- Hi, ladies.
- Hi.

- The famous five.
- Ooh-ooh!

Fabulous five.

- 'The fabulous five.'
- Dream team.

Before you go for a swim,
you might want

to dip your toes in a date.

- Ooh!
- Bring it here.

- All yours.
- Thank you.

Good luck, and I'll
see you next time.

- Thanks, Mike.
- See ya.

- Who thinks single date?
- Yep.

- 'Me.'
- 'Who thinks group date?'

Single.

(Dani) I'm hoping that
this is a single date card

and that my name is on it.

"If you're looking for a
wing man, look no further."

- A wing man?
- Wing man?

"You're being attached
to the wing of a plane

"and you're gonna be
flying through the sky.

This date does not
sound appealing.

- Could be paragliding.
- Wings.

Yeah, well, that takes you out.

(Chrystal) I hope it's
my name on the date card.

I just wanna spend
time with Arthur.

It is a single date.

- 'Ooh!'
- 'It's a single date.'

(Chrystal) I would love to
have another single date.

So one of you lucky
girls is going.

- Could be me.
- 'And the girl going is..'

I need this date!

"Matilda."

[women cheer]

I'm so stoked,
I just can't wait to

spend the whole day with him.

No, I wanted it to be me.

Alright, you'd better go
get ready for your wing man.

- 'Alright!'
- 'Have fun, Tilds.'

- Bye, Tilds.
- Bye.

- See ya. Bye.
- 'See ya.'

Maybe I need to, like,
break this little finger

or something, maybe just it
might get me a date, maybe.

(Art) Matilda and I have already
got such a great friendship.

It's been a while
since our last date

and I'm really keen
to find out today

if there's anything more to it.

(Matilda) I'm hoping there's
time to have intimacy

'cause last time there
was, like, bungee jumping

but wasn't exactly romantic.

[Matilda laughs]

Hi!

(Matilda) Art pulls up in
this amazing military Jeep.

- Hi!
- Hi!

He's dressed like
Tom Cruise in "Top Gun."

- Come on, jump in.
- Okay.

Alright, woo hoo!

(Matilda)
So exciting, woo hoo!

(Art) I'm gonna take
Matilda for a flight

in a classic vintage biplane.

And I think it's gonna be
a great start to our date.

Hi, I'm Pete,
I'm your pilot for today.

- G'day, Pete, Art.
- G'day, Art.

- Hi, I'm Matilda.
- Matilda, nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too.

I think I'm okay
with small planes.

I've never really been in one.

- Tight fit.
- Yeah.

(Matilda) It's great that Art and
I can be together in the front.

- Snug.
- Snug.

So we can have time to kind
of like get a bit cozier.

- Ooh! Here we go!
- Oh, here we go.

(Matilda) The butterflies
are sort of going all around

and I'm just very excited.

[both laugh]

(Art)
We take off.

It's flying like I've
never flown before

like you're literally on
the outside of the plane

with the wind just
like whizzing past you.

(Matilda) As soon as we're up
high, it's just amazing.

I just feel so lucky to be able
to do something like this.

How 'bout..

[propeller whirring]

(Art) We fly all 'round Mount
Maunganui and the Bay of Plenty

and Matilda's
absolutely loving it.

(Matilda) Beautiful day,
not a cloud in the sky

and it's just so much fun.

(Art) It's really nice
being close to Matilda.

(Matilda) We haven't really had
an opportunity to get that close.

[instrumental music]

(Matilda) It was just so much
fun, it was such a great flight.

(Art) It's such an
incredible experience.

(Matilda)
'Woo hoo!'

(Pete)
'Pretty cool, eh, cool.'

That was actually insane.

- Feeling alright?
- Yeah.

[propeller whirring]

Great start to the date,
it's been so amazing

so I'm just excited to
see what else is in store.

- Hey, thank you so much.
- That was incredible.

[instrumental music]

(Art)
Because of Matilda's arm

we're pretty limited
on what we can do.

So this afternoon
is just gonna be

really low-key
and quite romantic.

Welcome to Fountain Gardens.

- Oh, it's so cute!
- 'Yeah.'

It's like a little fairy tale.
It's really cool.

(Art) It is like a
little fairy tale place.

(Matilda)
With Arthur on this date

it actually just feels
completely right.

Aw, cute!

I thought maybe we'd
go for a paddle.

- Yeah!
- Let's do it.

(Art) The pond is such
a beautiful setting

and so peaceful and calm.

And it's a really
nice opportunity

for Matilda and I to
properly catch up.

[both laugh]

Oh, and a little river too.

(Art)
Actually, it's a double river.

(Matilda) It's really nice to
see a sensitive side to Art.

I really, really like him

and I'm definitely developing
real feelings for him.

I'm really glad that you're
with me today, Tilds.

Thanks, I'm glad I'm here too.

It's just good to like,
spend some time with you.

I have to say, you're quite
a rare breed, you know.

You're funny, nice,
good-looking, and not a dick.

Do you know what I mean?

[both laugh]

I could be a real dick, though.

- You never know.
- I don't think you are a dick.

(Art)
You're quite rare as well.

But I haven't met anyone
that has made me laugh

as much as you do.

Aw, that's good.

(Art) The date's going really well
and our conversation's flowing

and I feel very comfortable
with Matilda.

'When you fell off the horse,
I was like "Oh, my God"'

and then I just had this
sudden thought of dread

and I was like..

"What if Matilda
wants to leave?"

You know?

There goes this whole
experience for me.

It-it just didn't
even cross my mind.

Like it actually didn't.
I didn't even consider going.

I don't know,
I just thought, like

I just really wanna
see it through.

It could be me in the end,
you never know.

Fingers crossed.

Our first single date
that we had was amazing

but the second date has just
blown that out of the water.

I can definitely see myself
falling in love with Art.

[instrumental music]

Chrystal is in a wonderful mood.

She's waving a date card around

like it's some kind of trophy.

- Let's play my favorite game.
- Yeah, okay.

I've got my fingers crossed

for another single
date tomorrow.

Stranger things have happened.

A single or a group?

Votes for group?

- I think maybe a group.
- Vote for single?

I hope it's a
bloody well single.

- Well I, yeah.
- I'm sick of you lot.

I hope it's a single,
but I'm expecting a group date.

I need to spend
more time with Art.

(Poppy) I would be a
little bit embarrassed

if I was throwing my
kisses about like Dani is

and not receiving
any single date time.

- Drum roll, please.
- Read us the card.

[imitates drum roll]

(Chrystal) "You've got me
hook, line, and sinker."

- We're going fishing.
- Fishing!

It sounds like a
single date, though.

Really?

- Well "You've got me,"
- "You've got me," yeah.

- Not you all.
- Ah.

- Yeah.
- 'And who's on this?'

Your face!

- What?
- I'm surprised at this.

- Okay, go.
- What?

Oh, my God!

- What? Okay.
- Stop it!

Who do you think's going
on it, have you guessed?

- All of us.
- I think you three.

Just tell us!

I need to have a drink
before I just blab this on you.

- Just do it!
- Oh, my God, Chrystal!

(Chrystal) 'So tomorrow's
group date consists of..'

I'm just like, "Read the card!"

Lysh, you're going, and Dani.

- What!
- Yep.

That is a really weird date.

Me and Alysha.

Alysha looks super bummed that
she's on a date with Dani.

I think this is great.

If there is any animosity

it would be between
Dani and Alysha.

Two girls, one rose, one
stays and one goes?

He wouldn't get rid of one,
would he? On this date?

We knew these dates were coming

we knew the third-wheeler
date was coming.

We've all dreaded
the third-wheel date.

No, I'm..
Now worried. Why're you worried?

I'm like, Alysha, maybe he just
bloody likes you. Just relax.

No party pashing on the boat,
for God's sake.

[Dani laughs]

I'm not listening to Alysha.

I couldn't have written a
better date card myself.

Oh, my God, shoot me.

[instrumental music]

(Art)
Matilda loves to eat.

So I've arranged a really
nice dessert for us.

Oh, my God, it's like
a little high tea!

Oh, wow!

It just looks like something
out of a movie, it's amazing.

I feel like Arthur has put a
lot of thought into this date.

On a scale of one to ten,
Arthur is now an 11.

I do have a little gift for you.

Oh, my God!

Aw, thank you so much,
that's so sweet.

Oh, wow!

(Art) I give Matilda the
bracelet because she's probably

the girl that I
clicked with first

and really feel a really
strong connection with.

And I just love
being around her.

Oh, my God, I love it.

Oh, it's beautiful,
I love it so much.

- Thank you, that's so nice.
- You're welcome.

(Matilda) It's this beautiful
silver bangle with diamonds in it.

It was so nice of him
to do that for me.

I wasn't expecting it at all.

'Is it good?'

Oh, my God, it's amazing.

[both laugh]

That is actually like the
best tart I've ever had.

- In my life. Mm.
- Wow, that's insane.

How're you feeling now
that it's like, top five?

I am at the point
where I have made

connection with everyone,
but there are definitely

you know, some girls
that I'm more fond of.

And I wanna know if you think

that you could actually
see me in your life.

Easy, like, easy.

- Cool.
- Yeah.

(Matilda) I can already
picture us together

and if I don't end
up with Arthur

- I think I will be really hurt.
- Hey, cheers.

[glasses clink]

I'm gutted that the
single date wasn't me.

To be honest.

'Do you think Matilda
will kiss him?'

Obviously I would
like if she didn't.

(Chrystal) Dani always
goes on about pashing

which I don't care for.

She seems to forget periodically
that I have indeed kissed him.

Only a matter of time before
everyone joins the club.

- Chrystal.
- That's it, I know, right?

- Oh, I have gossip!
- Oh, okay, yep, go.

I don't think Poppy
was completely honest

about her pecking Arthur.

Seriously?

She told me that she pashed him.

Poppy may not have been as
innocent as she made out

to be on her single date.

I didn't expect that from Poppy.

Yeah.

Wow, I wonder why
she didn't tell us?

And then telling me,
of all people!

[laughs]

Who's just gonna tell everyone.

Chrystal's got all the gossip.

Don't tell her your secrets.

A really amazing day,
thank you so much for taking me.

(Art)
You are so welcome.

[gasps]
Oh, my God!

- It just never ends!
- No.

- This is so cute!
- Yeah.

(Matilda) Our first
single date that we had

I feel like we really
formed a good connection

and figured out that
we can laugh together

and are comfortable
around each other.

But I think there's
a bit of a chance

of getting friend-zoned.

I want you to meet the cat.

[clicks tongue]

Hey, mate!

[laughs]
Aww.

- This is Meowser.
- Yeah.

I got him specially
for the date.

- Just for, ah, didn't you.
- 'I hired him.'

[Matilda laughs]

And I also got this
little guy, too.

[laughs]
Hello!

Really one with
nature right now.

Yeah.

(Art)
Oh!

[laughs] It's like a
petting zoo around here.

(Art)
I really, really like Matilda.

But I do wonder if
there is anything more

to our relationship
than just friendship.

How are you feeling with
everything at the moment?

I dunno, it's-it's hard
because all the girls

at least say that they
feel the same thing.

I feel that we..

...have quite a strong
connection.

And I really do
quite like you a lot.

And..

I think about you quite a lot.

- Aw, that's really nice.
- Yeah.

(Matilda)
I'm hoping to kiss Art today

because I feel like if
I can't do it today

then I don't know when
I'll get another chance.

♪ Slowly kiss her ♪

[both laugh]

So, uh..

[laughs]

Yep.

[both laugh]

Oh, my God, I've got the gigs.

Okay, I'm gonna stop.

[birds chirping]

Tilds, I'm gonna kiss you.

Good.

- I think that was way overdue.
- Yeah.

[Art chuckles]

(Matilda) When we kiss,
it just feels totally right

and I haven't felt like
that for a long time.

(Art) Kissing Matilda is
everything I expected and more.

To finally be experiencing
it is incredible.

It's definitely been

on my mind this entire time.

[laughs]
Yeah.

Definitely out of
the friend zone.

I don't think you kiss
your friends like that.

Does this mean that we pash
at cocktail parties now, too?

Is that a thing now?
I think it is.

- Is that a thing now?
- I don't know.

[laughs]

No, I've really enjoyed today

and I really enjoy your company.

- Think you're amazing. Mm.
- Thanks.

Could you just hold
that for a second?

- Oh, you can't really though..
- Oh, no, I can.

With your gammy arm?

That's alright, look at that.

- Oh, cool.
- Got it.

(Matilda) It's pretty rare
to find someone like him.

I could 100 percent
see us together.

I really hope I'm the one.

Oh, yay!

[laughs]

Tilds, I've had such a great day

and I really like you.

Thank you.

And I was hoping you'll
accept this rose.

I would love to,
thank you so much.

Thank you.

- Alright, come on.
- Yeah, let's go.

[Matilda chuckles]

- See ya, Meowser.
- Bye, Meowser.

[purrs]

[women cheer]

- Welcome back!
- Hi!

- 'You look amazing!'
- Aww, I'm so happy for you.

Let me get you bubbles.

- Oh, thank you!
- Hi guys, hi!

(Dani) Matilda looks
absolutely glowing.

It looks like she's
had an amazing day.

And of course, she has a rose.

So can you define for
us what wing man meant?

So we were right,
it was in a plane.

Oh, my!

We flew in this like
really cool '40s plane.

Oh, my God!

(Matilda) 'Yeah,
it was really really cool'

and we like
flew 'round the Mount.

Did the wing man get a kiss?

- Yes.
- Woo hoo!

- 'Aww.'
- 'Yay.'

(Dani) Everyone's had
a pash with Art now.

It's all even playing field.

I don't have to be the
house hussy anymore.

You know, I've been like
chomping at the bit for this

for a while.

- It was really cool.
- Good for you.

Long time coming for you,
I feel, yeah.

After Matilda's
second single date

she's definitely
floating on cloud nine.

- I got a little present.
- Did you?

- Ah!
- Yeah.

- Oh my God!
- 'I didn't even see that!'

If I'd broken my arm for him

I would definitely be
wanting that too.

(Matilda) What about you,
what have you guys been doing?

- There was a date card.
- Oh, yeah?

Two people, so who do you
think two people are going?

All I can think of is you
and Chrystal.

- It's definitely me.
- 'Duh, eh, wrong, think again.'

- But it's not Chrystal.
- Alysha.

- Mm-hmm.
- Oh, wow.

Yeah, I know!

(Matilda) Dani and Alysha
aren't hugely close.

They don't gel, in a friend way.

Oh, double date, okay.

- Yeah.
- That's-that's new.

- A first.
- Yeah.

Dani for sure will kiss
Arthur on this double date.

How do you feel about that?

I'm just excited
I've got a date.

I haven't really
felt past that yet.

I would love to be a fly
on the wall on that date.

(Art) I've chosen both Dani
and Alysha for the date today

because hometown
visits are coming up

and I want to be very sure

whose families I go and see.

- Morning!
- Hello!

(Alysha)
Going to see Arthur with Dani

is definitely a different
dynamic.

It's not normal to share a man

or to compete for
a man's attention.

Yeah, I thought it was
a good day to go fishing.

- So, yeah.
- Fishing?

Oh, you really got
us with that clue.

(Art)
It was pretty obvious, huh?

[laughing]
Yeah.

There's so many
awkward situations

that could come from this date.

What if one of us gets a rose
and the other one doesn't?

Let's go.

- Let's go.
- Yeah.

(Art) Dani and Alysha are
very different characters.

Yeah, so this is us
here, Providence.

- Providence, wow.
- Yeah.

(Art) Dani is very
extroverted, and I just wonder

how Alysha's gonna handle that.

Pink one, of course.

[laugh]
Of course!

The trip out there was
really nice and relaxed

and it's a beautiful day,
but Alysha is a bit quiet.

And maybe that's because
of the situation.

(Alysha) I'm really hoping I'm
not a third wheel on this date.

- Very cool.
- Yeah, it's totally fun.

(Dani) I don't really care if
Alysha's gonna be miserable.

Positive Polly over here is
gonna embrace the whole day

and I'm gonna have fun.

[seagull cries]

We finally stop just
outside Mayor Island.

Whew!

(Dani) I'm feeling pretty
confident in my fishing abilities.

- Sick, oh. Oh.
- Good, there's one hook.

(Alysha) I've grown up fishing
with my family. I am in my element.

- Oh, oh, what is that one?
- Trying to catch me?

Not a bad idea.

(Alysha) We drop our
lines into the water

and I'm very excited about this.

- Now we play the waiting game.
- Yeah, who's first?

We need to turn this into
a competition somehow.

I am pretty competitive when
there's something on the line

and there's a chance to
call yourself the winner.

Oh, you got one!

It's gonna take so long
to wind up.

Keep going.

- Aw, you caught nothing!
- Ah!

(Dani)
'Yay, good one Alysha.'

(Art) A little bit of
me thinks there might be

some rivalry between the two.

- There you go, Dani, whoo!
- Jeez!

[Art laughs]

(Dani)
I'm hanging on for dear life.

The skipper has to put this
dorky fishing belt on me

'cause I'm not strong enough
to reel this bloody fish in.

[Dani grunts]

[Dani grunts]

Yeah!

[trills]

- Oh, you're on! It's a kingy!
- Ah, go, go!

(Alysha) I did want to
make my family proud

and I refused to put on one
of the belts around my waist.

Oh, my God, okay,
what will I do then?

(Art) Alysha is a little
bit more serious than Dani.

I mean, she's really
trying to prove herself.

Kingy!

- Oh, my God.
- Oh, no, it's..

- It's just a little baby!
- Oh.

[all laughing]

I caught my first fish,
and it was actually a baby

about this big, it was a
little bit embarrassing.

(Dani)
Fishing is awesome.

The fish may as well
have been jumping

on the boats by themselves

'cause it was just carnage!

Oh, my God, somebody help me!

- You alright?
- 'Do you need the belt?'

(Alysha)
Dutifully not using a belt.

I was gonna reel
that fish on my own.

Yeah, you keep winding,
and I help pull.

[Alysha laughs]

- Eew!
- Oh, my God!

- They're coming everywhere!
- Bloody good catch!

- Yeah, no kisses for you today.
- Yeah.

[all laughing]

(Art)
After the frantic fishing

I've planned a wee trip ashore

to spend some quiet
time with the girls.

We did well on the
fishing, good job.

- Oh, we did more than well.
- We did so well!

Yeah.

(Art)
'Now we can eat what we caught.'

(Alysha)
'Yum, look at that!'

(Art)
We sit down for a picnic.

Dani is her usual, bubbly self.

Oh, my God, it's so fresh.

(Art) Oblivious to the
semi-awkward situation.

Alysha is slightly more reserved

and I can see that she feels
a little bit uncomfortable.

- What do you think?
- It's alright.

(Dani) Alysha's weakness is something
I don't think she's aware of.

Sometimes she can
come across very cold

and very removed
and standoffish.

How do you feel that you're
gonna meet four fathers?

It's like, little bit daunting.

If I'm here next week, I will
be really, really excited. Yeah.

I rang my dad last night
I was like

"You know, there is a
possibility, dad, that

I'll be coming home
for hometown visits."

And he was like, "Well, I
have to take a day off work."

And the only day
he's ever taken off

is for his parents' funeral.

Oh, my God.

And he was like, "Okay,
I'll take a day off."

My dad's hardly at work.

[chuckles]

Yeah, I think we all come from
such different backgrounds

and upbringings, and..

Especially you and I,
we're like,

complete opposite
ends of the country.

(Art)
'So how are you girls feeling?'

Just gets nerve-wracking,
'cause obviously

every girl here

'you really like, so..'

I think everyone's
starting to get, you know

some feelings now,
and it's invested.

Yeah.

Getting to that stage
now where somebody needs

to be having one-on-one
time, and it's not happening.

You can't really get
into date conversation

if I'm there at the
same time as Dani.

Yeah, and you've just gotta
do what's best for you.

If one of us goes or
you know, isn't for you

then that's just the way it is.

We have your best interests at
heart at the end of the day

and we just want you to be
happy, so.

(Art)
Before the day comes to an end

I think I need to
spend some time

with each of the
girls separately

just to see how
they're handling it.

Dani, would you like
to go for a walk?

Yeah, of course, that'd be fun.

- 'Yeah, alright.'
- 'Yep.'

I've been wanting to spend
some one-on-one time with him

so I'm finally gonna get it.

I've only had one
single date with Art

and it was so long ago now,
so I'm gonna make the most

of this date, regardless
who's on it with me.

- You having fun?
- Yeah.

[Dani laughs]

You having fun?

(Dani) Yeah,
I'm having the best day ever.

[Art laughs]

(Alysha)
It is hard to see the guy

that you are starting
to have feelings

with another girl, you know?

There is that little
bit of jealousy

and that little bit of..

[groans]

[sighs]

Alright.

- Hi.
- Hi.

- I had so much fun fishing.
- Yeah.

- We did good!
- We did so well.

- 'Hmm. I enjoyed.'
- 'Yeah, yeah.'

I thought, I was like, "Well
is this gonna be weird?"

Like, 'cause Alysha was
quite weirded out by it.

Was she?

Yeah, she was like,
"Don't you think it's weird

that it's just the two of us?"
I was like

"I dunno, should I feel weird,
should I feel weird

that it's the two of us?"

But, nah, it's easy peasy.

- Cool. Mm, hey.
- You know me.

(Art) Dani and I always
kiss, so that's

kind of like our
normal thing to do.

- It's been awesome.
- Yeah.

Man, I really enjoyed
that, just, thing..

[both laugh]

[dramatic music]

I don't know if Alysha saw me.

She definitely could have,
if she was looking.

(Alysha) I don't think
anyone would want to see

the man who she's chasing after,
be kissing another girl.

At the end of the day,
only one of us

is ending up with Art,
and I want that to be me.

We're not all gonna be
his girlfriend forever.

Today was so fun.

Don't take me home!

I don't know if I'm
gonna kiss Arthur.

If he wants to kiss me,
he can initiate it.

But by no means am I
launching into that.

[instrumental music]

(Art)
Before the day comes to an end

I want to spend some
one-on-one time with Alysha.

Would you like to come with me?

- Yeah, sure.
- 'Yeah.'

(Alysha) 'I've had an amazing
day with you, though.'

(Art) I've had an
amazing day with you too.

(Alysha) We go for a walk down the
beach, and he tells me

"I've got something
to show you."

You see that?

[Alysha gasps]

[Art laughs]

[Alysha gasps]

- I'm going over.
- Let's have a look.

(Alysha)
'Hey, buddy.'

'It kinda looks
like you wanna cuddle it'

but it's not a good idea.

(Art) Oh, he probably
won't like to be cuddled.

(Alysha)
'Aww.'

[seal roars]

[Alysha shrieks]

[Art laughs]

(Dani) Just kind of
sitting here on my own.

Don't know if I like this.
Feeling quite lonely, actually.

- It's solid. Yeah.
- Oh, sand step.

(Alysha) The more time
I spend with Arthur

the stronger that
connection grows.

I'm trying to keep a
little bit of guard up

because I could be
quite heartbroken

if it comes down to that.

I do feel so
comfortable with you.

Good.

And it makes me happy
to hear that.

'We got off to a slow start.'

[laughs] It took a while
for us to kind of meet

and get to know each
other, but it's been like

I've been on a high since then.

(Art) Being with Alysha
one-on-one is different.

She drops down her barriers,
and she just becomes

this different person,
she's so vulnerable and sweet

and it's just really nice
spending this time with her.

Come on.

(Alysha) And of course,
he comes in for the kiss

and I'm not gonna say
no, so I roll with it.

(Dani) Of course
Alysha's gonna kiss him.

She'd be stupid if she didn't.

[sighs]

- Come on.
- Alright, you.

(Art) The day's been
really revealing.

At times there has
been a bit of tension.

I feel like I've got to
know each of these girls

a lot better

and it confirms the way
that I feel.

But it also kind of makes
my decision a lot harder.

[instrumental music]

This cocktail party is
the last cocktail party

that we're ever gonna have.

- Evening.
- Hey.

- Hello, hey.
- Hi.

(Art)
It's a really important one

because it could have a bearing

on whose families
I go home and visit.

- How was the fishing date?
- It was amazing, yeah.

- 'Did you catch any fish?'
- We caught so many fish.

(Poppy) Any one of us
girls could be going home.

I can't single out just
one girl at this stage.

Poppy, I was wondering if
I could steal you away.

- Yeah, sure.
- Yeah?

(Chrystal) I definitely
think I'll be stepping

my game up a little bit.

This is "The Bachelor," it's
every girl for themselves.

So you called me first.

Is there anything
you want to ask me?

I'm really nervous
about tonight.

I still want to get
to know him more

and I still feel like
we have a connection.

So, where are you at with
your life at the moment?

I'd like to have kids when
I'm about 28, I think.

I'd still like to
have a few more years

of adventuring and
just figuring out stuff

and really enjoying the
person that I'm with

before having children, but
it's a huge, important thing

for me to be quite
a young mum as well.

A little birdie named Chrystal..

[laughs]
That classic little birdie.

Told me that Poppy was lying

about her kiss on
the single date.

Lying how,
so, so she did pash him?

- Yeah.
- Poppy!

- I know!
- Okay.

What about you?

I wanna have kids
in maybe five years.

Well that works pretty well.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

I guess that could
work then, couldn't it?

Yeah, that's roughly around
the right time.

Yeah.

(Poppy)
The ball's in his court.

If he likes me I'll be staying

if he doesn't, then tonight
might be the night that I go.

Because everything is
so shared in this house

and it's nice sometimes
just to have something

that's just for you, or
just for you and him, and..

(Dani) 'Poppy could have
just said she wanted'

to keep it to herself,
but instead she said

'that she did something
completely different.'

To me, that was like
she made up something.

She probably just, just thought

'that like it was just
easier to just say like that'

'like rather than feeling
uncomfortable about being like'

"I don't really wanna say
anything" and then, you know?

It's a little bit weird

because I consider
Poppy a good friend now

and I would have thought
that she could trust us.

But I guess she felt the
need to hold that one back.

- Oh, it's well in.
- Hello!

- 'Hey, guys, welcome back.'
- Here, you can sit there.

Pull up a chair.

Chrystal, I was wondering
if I could steal you away.

- Yes, that would be lovely.
- 'Yeah.'

Chrystal's feeling
really uneasy.

(Matilda) She hasn't had a single
date, so I don't think

she really knows where
she stands at the moment.

(Dani)
I think out of all the girls

both Poppy and Chrystal
seem nervous tonight.

(Alysha) Stakes are
pretty high at the moment.

He's either meeting your parents

or you're going home and
you're never seeing him again.

And she is a really
tough nut to crack.

So how are you?

- Yeah, I'm good.
- Yeah?

Amazing, how are you?

Yeah, I'm-I'm good, but I'm..

...nervous, actually.

- I'm nervous.
- Why?

Going in for the Rose Ceremony.

You know what, you're a man,
you know what you want.

- Hmm.
- I think, just go with it.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

I do know what I want.

But I'm not completely sure

that I know who has what I want.

Ah.

Yeah, well, you definitely
get the vibe and you know

what you want from the
moment you walk into a room.

Arthur can't read me,
and hasn't figured me out.

So maybe I just need to make
it a little bit more clear.

Talking with you
last cocktail party

you're telling me
to open up to you

and you had sussed
everyone out except for me.

And I have these
feelings for you

and then seeing you kiss
Dani and then looking

at her lipstick with you going

"Can you please
open up to me more?"

I was just like, I kinda
want to punch you right now.

- Really, yeah?
- Yeah.

I'm like, I don't
really mean to punch you.

I'm definitely not kissing
you and I don't know

how I feel about this,
like, all at the same time.

'Cause it is,
it's really confronting.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that.

Did that just make it easier
when I told you

I wanted to punch you
and you're like

"Okay, well,
you're definitely going home."

Just made the Rose Ceremony
a little easier.

No, it's just-it's just made
me want to like

make sure I keep my distance
away from you..

[laughs]

I'm not gonna have
two minutes with him

at a cocktail party and
wear my heart on my sleeve.

So if that's what he needs,
then it probably won't be me.

So what was being said

whilst I was away?

It was mentioned how you

and Arthur did kiss

'and Dani wanted to know
why, why you lied'

and why you didn't tell us.

(Poppy)
'That's a bit mean from Dani.'

I don't really like
being called a liar.

I was, I didn't care.

I think what you did was

it's completely your decision.

Maybe she's feeling delicate

because she told everybody
everything on the first day.

I reckon Dani was
probably surprised

to hear that I had
actually kissed him.

Maybe more surprised that I
didn't tell everyone everything.

But I didn't lie.

I told them I kissed him
on the cheek, and I did.

(Matilda)
'How's your night been tonight?'

(Art)
'Ah, yeah, good.'

- Yeah, yeah, really good.
- Yeah?

I'm really starting to
think about life after this

who I can really see myself with

who I think

likes me as much as I like them.

I wanna find someone to
fall in love with.

And I just need to
know that who-whoever

is on the same page
as me with all that.

Art seems really
nervous and a little bit

more intense than usual.

Well, it's weird to think
that in a couple of weeks

'I'm gonna have a girlfriend.'

'And hopefully..'

I'll fall in love with her.

Yeah.

That's, yeah, that's like
a very real possibility.

Yeah. Wow.

Now it's been established,
thank you Chrystal

'that we have all kissed him.'

Yeah.

And I would like to point
out that I didn't lie.

You asked me if I had kissed
him, and I said yes

'and I had kissed
him on the cheek.'

The word liar doesn't sit
very well in my heart.

Is this directed at me?

(Poppy) 'I was told
you called me a liar.'

I just said, I didn't call
you a liar specifically

I just said I don't
appreciate lying.

'I was a bit confused
about why we weren't told'

but you cleared
that up perfectly.

- Okay.
- Yeah.

I just don't like
being called a liar

behind my back, that's all.

Fair enough.

Point taken.

(Dani) This is the first time
I've found Poppy really scary.

Like, she's looking at me
like I'm the devil's spawn

or something,
like I'm just the worst.

And I'm, I don't really feel

like anything I've
done deserves that.

- Hey!
- Hi!

Dani, do you want
to come for a chat?

- I would love to.
- Great.

I thought you'd never ask.

If I was Dani, I
would steer well clear

of Arthur's mouth tonight.

She's learned her lesson,
I don't think

she'll be doing that
again any time soon.

You're making me nervous now.

- Am I? Why?
- Yeah.

I don't know.
You're looking at me like that.

I'm looking at you 'cause
I wonder if..

...I can kiss you.

- Oh! Wow! Of course you can!
- Yeah.

You don't have to wonder that.

I know, but I just, I can't.

I feel a little bit awkward
at the cocktail party.

Yeah, I know,
I got told off last time.

Did you?

Yeah, but hey,
it's always worth it.

[both laugh]

(Dani) I didn't realize
that we'd made rules

about kissing at
the cocktail party.

And to be honest,
they're not my rules.

I'm here for myself,
and if Art wants to kiss me

he can bloody well kiss me.

Can we all just kiss
him and be happy?

[dramatic music]

(Mike)
Good evening, ladies.

- 'Hello.'
- Hey, Mike.

Tonight not only
signifies the end

of our time here on
the Bay of Plenty

but also the end of
the cocktail parties.

'But here's something
to look forward to.'

For those of you who
receive a rose tonight

you will have the chance
to introduce Arthur

to your friends and family
with hometown visits.

Matilda, congratulations,
you have received a rose

so tonight you're safe, and
enjoy your hometown visit.

[both laugh]

For the four of you remaining

'Arthur tonight has
three roses to hand out.'

'Which means for one
of you, your time here'

'on "The Bachelor New Zealand"
will come to an end.'

(Poppy) It's the first time
that I haven't been able

to predict who I
think is going home

which might mean that it's me.

(Alysha)
I am nervous, I'm anxious.

(Chrystal)
It's every girl for themselves.

It's time to bring in Arthur.

(Dani) I'm feeling good,
the date went really well.

But there's always
that doubt in my mind

that I could be going home.

Ladies,
I just want to thank you.

And I've really
enjoyed being able

to get to know all of you.

I'm becoming increasingly sure

that what I'm looking for

is in this room.

(Dani) That makes me
a little bit excited.

Art could definitely
be the one for me.

(Matilda)
I hope it's me.

(Alysha) I can see a really
good future with him.

(Poppy)
It's obvious he likes us all

but which of the girls
does he like the least?

Alysha.

Alysha,
will you accept this rose?

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Oh, I'm so excited.

(Dani)
I'm very envious right now.

[Alysha sighs]

(Chrystal) I would love to stay.
I'm so not ready to go home.

(Poppy) I feel like
if I go home tonight

it's already written
in the stars.

Dani.

(Dani) I'm super happy
that Art's called my name.

My family will
absolutely love him.

(Poppy)
And I am bottom two, again.

Dani, will you accept this rose?

Of course, thank you.

(Poppy) Chrystal and I knew
that it was gonna come down

to her and I, and here we are

both standing like lemons
waiting for a rose.

(Chrystal) I'm definitely
here for the right reasons.

I'm totally attracted
to him, he's a fun guy

and I would love to see
where this is going.

(Poppy) If I go home tonight,
I'm not gonna be happy.

(Matilda) Even though I feel
safe, it's still awful

because I'm so close with
all of these girls now.

(Chrystal)
If I go home tonight

I wouldn't do one
thing different.

[dramatic music]

Poppy.

Poppy,
will you accept this rose?

- Yes, thank you Arthur.
- Thanks.

[dramatic music]

(Chrystal) I think Arthur
is definitely someone

I could see myself
with in the future

but hey, it's just
not meant to be.

Chrystal, you did not
receive a rose tonight

'so you will be leaving
the French Country House.'

'Please take a moment
to say your goodbyes.'

Chrystal, you're amazing,
and you're so beautiful

and so confident

and I have no doubt

that only good things
are gonna happen to you.

Thank you.

[chuckles]

Have fun.

(Dani)
I am surprisingly really sad.

I never thought I'd say that

but I don't want Chrystal to go.

I love Chrystal, she's awesome

in her own little quirky way.

I look forward to meeting
all of your families.

(female #1)
Good luck!

[laughs]

(Chrystal)
'Sayonara, ladies.'

Yeah, totally enjoy
this weird party.

I'm so glad that
I don't have to go

to another cocktail party

with you four doing my head in.

(Mike)
Next time on "The Bachelor."

- You made it!
- Hi!

(Mike)
It's time to meet the families.

- 'Hello!'
- Ah!

(Mike) The highly-anticipated
home visits are here.

- This is Art, everyone.
- Hi.

(Mike) Arthur fronts up
to suspicious stepmothers.

What kind of ass would
do something like that?

(Art) I feel like I'm in
front of the firing squad.

(Mike)
And over-anxious parents.

(female #2) 'Poppy has been
through heartbreak before.'

And it wasn't nice to see.
I don't want to see her hurt.

(Mike) But also has
questions of his own.

Do you think she's ready
for another relationship?

[instrumental music]
