an entire bike from scratch.

At the Gear Hub Sports
in downtown Fernie,

teams will have to properly
reassemble all parts of a

mountain bike, using only
this display for reference.

Once their ride
is trail-ready,

Mark will give them
their next clue.

Learn to Fly requires
teams to listen to a good,

old fashioned fishing story,
told my good old buddy, Scott.

Remember that time
we landed the big one

on the bone wiggler?

Here at the Kootenay Fly

racers will listen to an
elaborate fishing story that

uses the quirky
names given to

a series of lures
called flies.

Their mental and physical
strength will be put to the

test with a 1-kilometre

where they'll have to
place the individual flies

in the exact order they
were told in the story.

correctly sorted the

bone wigglers from
the atomic worms,
