The Amazing Race Australia (2011–…): Season 6, Episode 14 - Leg 14 (Belize) - full transcript

To avoid their race ending in ruins, teams go back to school and pick between a game of Pok-A-Tok or an ancient number puzzle. Finally, they must memorise the months of the complex Mayan calendar.

Previously
on The Amazing Race Australia...

Come on, hurry!
..In the closest Pit Stop yet,

Chelsea and Jamus
got their first win...

You are the first team to check in.

Let's go!

..While Flick and Gabby
were eliminated.

Come here. Come here. Come here.

We're proud of ourselves.

I couldn't have done this
with anyone else.
No way.

No-one else.
Yeah.

Tonight, with the cops in isolation,

nine teams travel
the Toledo District...

This is pretty spectacular.
How cool is this?

..Facing its dangers...

..and delights.

To be with a paddle in our hands
was magic.

But one wrong step...

Don't throw your ankle.
..Will have...

You gotta watch that hill, bro.

..A disastrous consequence.

Jamus, come off the edge!

This is the Amazing Race Australia.

Belize's largest city
is Belize City.

It's also Central America's
least populated country,

and it's where we left
our remaining teams.

The great news is
that four teams have returned.

We're very excited
to see everyone again.

We'd been missing them like crazy.

It was really nice to see some
familiar, friendly faces.

To make it fair,

returning teams
will have to cop a speed bump.

Well, well, well, well.

Ohh.

As you guys can see, our four
teams who have been in iso -

our aunty and niece
Tiffany and Cynthia,

country kids Fliss and Tottie,

newlywed teachers Kelly and Georgia

and our dragon boaters
Jodie and Claire

are about to reclaim
their spot in the race.

Are you ready to start the 14th leg
of the Amazing Race Australia?

Yes!

Here is your next clue.

Thanks, Beau.
Good to see you.

Thanks, Beau.

You can rip and read
in three, two, one, go!

Let's go. Where are we going?

First one back, a bit dodgy.

I'm ready to race.

"It's time to make your way
to Belize's ancient..."

"..Mayan region, Toledo."

"Find the Santa Cruz School
and search for your next clue."

From Belize City, all teams
will be driving 260km south

to Santa Cruz,

which lies within
the vast Toledo district.

This largely untouched area is
made up of rainforests and rivers.

Its earliest inhabitants
were the ancient Maya, who were known

for their astronomy, calendars
and hieroglyphic writing,

as well as for their pyramids
and temples,

and their descendants
still live here today.

Once the teams arrive at the school,

they'll find their next clue
in these buckets.

Get your TomTom out, babe.

Do you want me to drive, Frankie?
No.

I'm fine.

Oop. On wrong side.

Well, this is pretty spectacular.
How cool is this?

Are we in Belize?
I don't know where we are.

I don't know how to read maps.

Like, I don't really know what this
place is called. Guatemala?

It's here
on the left-hand side, Pako.

Just keep an eye out
for flags on the left.

Santa Cruz School.

Let's go, babe. Go.

OK, run up. Let's go.
Come on. Heath!

Let's go, babe.

Come on, let's go. Let's go.

Read it, bro.

"Help prepare and replant
the children's greenhouse

"to receive your next clue."

The greenhouse
requires some TLC

after the school was shut
during the pandemic.

It needs a good weeding
and some new plants.

Each team will have an allocated
garden bed to work.

They'll add plants such as ginger,
lemongrass and chilli

in the same pattern as this bed.

The run-down roof and sides
will also need repairing.

Then it's off to see
the school principal, Ms Bell,

for the next clue.

Get some big ones.
These ones are big.

Route info.

"Help repair and replant
the children's greenhouse

"to receive your next clue."

"Warning - returning teams,
speed bump ahead."

"Keep a close eye out for
tarantulas and scorpions.

"You must wear gumboots."

No! No.
It's alright.

Gumboots. Over there. Gumboots.

Yeah, we're loving the challenges
where we're giving something back

to the countries and communities

that we're lucky enough
to be visiting.

It gives you a good buzz that
you're doing something worthwhile.

I've got your shoes here.

There's just different sizes,
so just grab one.

"You must fix the roof
and replicate the garden."

So this one, the next two.

Oh, all these, like, weedy bits?

Exactly like this one.

Nice and clean.

My mum and dad will be proud.
They're massive gardeners.

Tarantula!

It's massive!

Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Where?

Ahh! There's another one!
Oh, my God!

I'm so scared!

Oh, my God!

It was the biggest spider
I've ever seen in my life.

And it was so thick as well.
Eugh. Yeah.

And the bum on the back of it
was just like... Eugh.

Oh, my God!
It's OK.

Off you go.

Have a prosperous life
somewhere else.

Alright, it's gone.

I'm sweating bullets.

Oh, my God. The sweat is real, guys.

Yeah.
I can't see.

Kelly, what do you want to do
right now?

Plant.
OK, let's go.

So I'm looking for the purple one,

you're looking
for that coriandery one.

Kelly, I'VE got the purple one.
Oh.

So this challenge was very, very
hard, quite physically demanding,

especially after doing nothing
for a while in iso.

So, straight back into it,
I was sweating.

Dripping buckets, both of us.
Yep.

Come on, hon, get stuck in.
They're already planting.

It's good hard yakka work, and it
feels good to be helping the kids.

I'm very happy about that.

Check, please.

Thank you!

Thank you. I'm a horticulture queen!

Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Thank you.

Alright, it's a Detour.
Let's see.

A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this Detour,
teams must come down here

to a historic Mayan site
in Cahal Pech

and choose between Score or Solve.

Teams that choose Score
must play a game of pok-a-tok,

which is essentially a cross
between football and basketball

where the Mayans scored goals
with any part of their body

except for their hands.

Teams must get a single ball
through the ring,

but it's back to the line
to start again

if they fail after six attempts
to nail a goal -

like this.

Yes!

Then they'll receive their next clue.
Just like that!

Hyah! Next clue! Yeah! Where you at?

Come on! Come on!

Now, these ancient minds
were pretty smart.

Choose Solve
and teams must complete a puzzle

made up of 36 movable wooden pieces,

each with six Mayan numbers on it.

The deal is each of these numbers
can only appear once

in any direction - horizontally,

vertically and diagonally.

Use them twice and it's a fail.

Blocks with red marks can't be moved

and are there to help
get the puzzle started.

When all the pieces are correct,

judge Maria will hand over
the next clue.

Good luck.

Man, maths is hard. So's English.
Science as well.

PE was alright.

Actually, PE was hard too.

You're good with balls.

Score. Score.
Let's go.

Whoo!

We're doing the Score Detour

so we have to play
an ancient Mayan ballgame.

Yeah.
Whatever that is.

So hopefully our sports skills
come into it.

Far out.

I don't want to do this anymore.
The sun, dude.

This mud is like clay.

How are we supposed to dig holes
in this... in this ground?

We picked a spot in the sun.
Yeah.

The only one in the sun.
Yeah.

We were the only team at the edge
in the sun.

And it got to us.

Oh! I feel sick.

Check, please.

Yes! Thank you.

Thank you so much.
Thank you! Whoo!

I hope the garden's good.
Yes.

Come on, babe.

Yellow. Detour.

Score or Solve?

Score.
Let's play ball. Score.

Awesome! Let's go, let's go.

I reckon Score.
OK, let's go.

Yeah, Score. Let's go.
Whoo!

You got the keys?
Yeah.

Just dying here.

I might have a sit down.

I feel like I'm going to vomit.

Today was challenging.
Yeah.

Started to see, like, white spots
and I had to sit down.

I'm gonna pass out.

You want to see if we can
get a time penalty?

So, we were almost going to give up
but that's just not who we are.

The race is literally our life
right now,

so there's nothing else for us
to think about.

So this is it.

We can. We can do it.

Alright, then. Get to it.

Yeah. Judge, please.

Yes!
Yeah! Thank you.

Let's go.
Thank you so much.

Good work, baby.
Good work, hon.

The ball one.
Score?

Whoo-hoo!

Thank you!
Thank you very much.

Thank you.

It's going to be grubby.
Speed Bump.

"Sort and clean
the school's furniture

"to receive your next clue."

Oh, shite. OK.
Speed Bump.

The Speed Bump
given to returning teams

requires them to clean a total
of 10 items of furniture

from this classroom
to receive their next clue.

10 chair desks.

We had to carry some very heavy
furniture out of the classroom

and then wash it all in the heat.

Little gingers in the heat
don't do well.

Nup. Rangas and heat, not good.

Gonna move them over here.

Why is it making us come up here?

Maybe there's another road.

Is this it?

Oh, my God, Mori.

No?

Are we lost?
We're lost.

Oh, it's closed.

Is it really?
Yeah.

Fully?

I don't know where to go.

Shit.

"One team member must bounce the ball

"while the other attempts
to hit it through the hoop.

"You're allowed six bounces
in the playing area."

"If you do not succeed
during this time,

"you must head to the back
of the line and try again."

Hey.

Any last-minute adjustments?

I'm worried about
that purple one, Kelly.

I can't do much about it.

Check, please.
Check, please.

Yes! Thank you so much!
Yay! Thank you so much.

Thank you.
Good job.

Thank you. Love you.
Ooh, you're so dirty. Yuck.

Check!
Check, please!

Oh, my God. They're out of here.

Alright, we got this.

Speed Bump.
Speed Bump.

Speed Bump.

One, two, three, four, five,
six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

Yeah. They're all clean.

Thank you very much. Thank you.
Thank you so much.

That's a massive Speed Bump.

Don't worry about it.
Just focus on what we're doing now.

Ooh.

It's really cool. Usually
we're making the kids

do this as punishment, you know?

Actually, no, that's old. This is
old-school student punishment.

All good?
Yeah.

Alright, let's chuck this over.

Go.

Check, please.

Yes?

Yay.
Thank you. Thank you so much.

"Sort and clean
the school's furniture
to receive your next clue."

One, two, three, four, five, six,
seven, eight, nine, ten.

Check, please.
Check, please.

Yay!

Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.

Thank you.
Thank you.

Are you a teacher?
I'm a principal.

Oh, you're principal!
That's so cool.

We're teachers.
In Australia.

We're teachers in Australia.
Yeah. Nice to meet you too.

Well done, guys.

Ergh!

One, two, three, four, five,
six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

Thank you.
Thank you so much.

Thank you.

Thank you. Thank you.
Yay. Thank you so much. Thank you.

Come on.

Ready? Let's go.

We arrived first.
Other teams must have got lost.

Back in first place!

Don't fall over.

Over here. So it's on the left.

Follow the path?
Follow the path.

OK.

Almost rolled my ankle.

Don't roll your ankle.

How do you know it's up here?
The arrows.

This place is awesome.

Wow!

So cool!

Just the backdrop.

Oh!

What is this place?

Hey! I found a dollar.

Must be mine.

Oh, here! Here they are. Let's go.

OK. Solve, Score.

We're going this way.

Let's go.

This is so pretty.
Wow.

This is all what you wanted to see.

It's history.
We're running through history.

Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go, babe.

Get a run on.

Watch your footing.
Bit rocky up here.

What are you guys doing?
Soccer, or whatever it is.

Careful. Don't fall.

Tighten it.
Oh, tighten it.

And... That's it.

We had to wear, like,
this traditional belt.

There was a big circle hoop
right in the middle.

One person had to bounce the ball.

It was like a bowling ball...

That's the way it looked like.
..That bounced.

It was heavy, and the other person
could only use their hips

to hit up and go through the hoop.

I was like, "What the...?!"

The first thing we said was,
"No hands?"

Alright.

Do we need to put a band on?

Hello.

I'm just watching
how you got to, like...

..you got to "boom!".
Hit it with your hip.

Six bounces.

Oh!
Nearly. That was so good.

Oh.
Sorry. Sorry.

The way it worked was you had to
throw it up a certain way

to receive a perfect bounce

for you to just go under
and hit it with your hip.

Oh!
Unlucky.

Bad bounce. It's alright.

Oh!
Off the post! Next one, Frankie.

Come on, Frankie.

But it was so difficult.

So we had to start again.

Oh, unlucky.

One.
Higher. Higher.

Oh!

Go for it. Focus, focus.

Was that six?

This will be cool, I reckon.

Watch out for the rocks.

Argh! Ohh!

Sit down, sit down!

Sit.
Ahhh!

Sit. Sit.

I'm sorry.
Stop apologising.

It's alright.

I wanna keep going.
It's alright, Fliss.

You can't, OK? You can't keep going,
and that's OK.

It is perfectly OK.

We're gonna let that IV
paracetamol run through.

One, two, three. Up.

Keep that leg straight.

Obviously, the ankle is not broken,
but it's really sprained.

Unfortunately, that's the end
of your time on the race. OK?

With Fliss out of action,
they can't compete as a team,

so their time on the race is over.

I'm sorry.

I feel bad.

Knowing that I'd let Tottie down,

it was such a heartbreaking,
devastating way

to go out of the race.

I'm so proud of us getting this far.
Stop. Stop.

This puzzle sounds
very much like Sudoku,

except instead of numbers,
it's symbols.

So I'm thinking, gee, like, we might
even be better off with the puzzle.
OK.

I'm feeling the puzzle.
Yeah, same.

I think we can put our brains
together.

What's left of them.

Just turn left.
Ah!

Why? Oh, shit.
They've blocked off everything.

That's the only other bridge
over the river.

Good?

Yes!

OK, so, all the ones with the red
dot, they're going to be one.

OK. So, one in the second column
is the second from the bottom,

and then one on this column
is going to go...

Are you OK for me to just work here?
Yeah.

So, ones.

So, that's a one.
Yeah.

In isolation, I had done
about 50 to 60 Sudokus.

Being teachers,
we're problem solvers.

We think quickly on our feet
every day,

so we definitely thought
we could nail it.

And then go down two.
One, two, three, four.

Here's four dots.
There's five.

Come closer.
Yeah, yeah.

Oh!
Oh! Let's go. One more, baby.

This one, baby.

Big thrust!
Oh!

I almost...
That was with your penis!

I almost knackered that!

Oh!

Oh! I thought he had it.

I thought that was in, yeah.

Oh! That was good.

Yes!
Yay!
Well done.

Well done.
Thank you.

Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you.

Ba-da boom!

"Make your way to Hawksworth Bridge.

"Canoe down the river,
collecting engraved pieces

"and use them to re-create
a Mayan calendar

"to receive your next clue."
Let's go.

The La Ruta Maya Belize
endurance canoe race

is the longest in Central America.

It goes for four days,
covers 270 kilometres,

and starts here at the Hawksworth
Bridge in the town of San Ignacio.

In this challenge, our teams must
come down here to the riverbank

and locate this Mayan calendar
with the 18 months of the year.

Each month has only 20 days
for a total of 360.

The last five days
are known as the Nameless Days.

Mayans would not leave their homes

out of fear that these
were dangerous days.

They must memorise all 18 months
in the order they appear.

Then they'll have to grab a canoe

and navigate their way
down the Macal River

and find 18 engraved stones
which represent the Mayan months.

Just like that one there.

They'll return up the river
and assemble their calendar.

If they exactly match the months
in the right order

and the right way up,
they'll receive their next clue.

You don't want to get
this one wrong. Trust me.

I think I saw a piranha.

I think that bridge was
what we were at last time.
Yeah.

Oh!
Oh, shit.

Are you OK?
Yeah.

Yes!
Well done, boys.

Using that stomach, mate.
My gut.

Yes!

Thank you!

Route info.

"Make your way
to Hawksworth Bridge."

Let's go.

Come a little bit closer.
No, you come closer.

Doesn't matter where I am.

Why are you so far from the ring?

I didn't even hit...

Please get the ball.

I even used there.

Babe, stop...
Don't blame the floor.

You just threw it at the rock
and it went right...

Frankie got it in
and it hit the floor.

Doesn't matter
what the floor's doing.

Just thrust your damn hips
or something.

It's just the bounce.
It's the floor, guys.

It's what it is.
Yeah! Don't have a go at me.

Pako got it in. He's your height.

That's it.
How many's that?

That's six.
Thanks.

Puzzle. Yeah?
Yep.

Isn't this special?

Oh, my God. Look where we are.

I need two dots, don't I?
Yep.

And then...
A bar. OK.

This is gonna be
the hardest ones to hold.

I need you to hold the top one.
Yeah, I got them.

Those are done.
The red ones are in
the correct position.

Oh.
The red ones have to be the same.

You can do a three here.

Oh, OK. This...
Let's look at
the correct ones, Kelly.

We realised that certain pieces
had to be in certain spots.

The red is correct there
so that's what we need to work from.

Oh, shit. OK. Yeah, yeah.

Just go from scratch.

Oh, that's so frustrating.
Isn't it?

Come on, let's go!

Hello.
How are you doing?

We have a problem.
We need to go here.

Where?
It's called Cahal Pech.

Cahal Pech? No problem.

But it tells us we have to go
over your beautiful bridge.

Look.
No, but it's closed right now.

Yes.
We got a new bridge.

OK.
You go to the end.

Yes.
You see that?

And you go like you're going
to the border.

Oh! Thank you so much.

Enjoy Belize, and welcome.

Thank you!

Aww! So lovely!
Alright, buddy. Take care!

Oh, you're kidding, mate!

You could have thrown that higher!

Yep. Let's go.

Thank you, sir.

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Good luck, guys.
Get that bounce high, eh.

No. Get it over that rock.

The rock sends it
in a different direction.

Yes!
Yeah!

"Make your way
to Hawksworth Bridge."

"Canoe down the river,
collecting engraved pieces

"and use them to re-create
a Mayan calendar."

"..To receive your next clue."
Let's go.

Let's go.

There's the canoes.

Have you got the pen?
What for?

Someone stole my pen.

What do you need...
We can write notes.

Are these all the pieces
we have to remember?

These symbols were really
strange-looking symbols,

like nothing we've
kind of seen before.

And looking at the calendar, there's
normally 12 months in a calendar

that we would normally think of.

And then this one here,
there's 18 different symbols.

We had to walk down,

jump into a canoe,

zigzag down the river to find
our different pieces, symbols,

to remake at the sundial
right at the end.

OK, I'll do one side,
you do the other side and then swap.

And then swap.
Where are we going?

Frankie, we're tipping.

Because you're leaning.
You got to be straight.

Man!

That wasn't my fault.

No, it's you! When you're leaning
too far on one side.

Hon... Angel, come here.

We both gotta get in.

Coming up...

Is that Chelsea and Jamus?

Yeah.

We are currently in last position.

..Desperate times
call for desperate measures.

Turn, turn! Just cut them off.

Oh,. You're kidding.

Oh, sorry.

Come on.

Oh, it's really hot.

Look at these drawings!

Oh, my God.

That's good!

So if that's a four,
this one's a four.

We need to figure out
what's down here.

It can't be the same.

Rightio.

The puzzle had six sections,
and we had to do them in lines

and we could only have one symbol
diagonally,

one of each symbol across
and one of each symbol down.

There, so two has to be this one.

You can't have this one,
so you can cross that one off.

What about this one?
Can't have that one.
Cross that one off.

What's the two? One dot is two.

One dot is two?
Yeah.

OK. Got three dots. Good.

OK. Check, please.
Check, please.

Yay!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you.
Thank you!

OK, get our stuff. Let's go.
Good luck, guys.

I love you so much.
You're so amazing.

I'm really sorry about that. That...
Don't be sorry.

OK. Route info.

"Make your way
to Hawksworth Bridge."

Let's go.
Let's go.

That's it.

Good job.
Thank you.

That's alright.

Oh, my goodness.
Aren't these incredible?

This is my 10-year-old
bucket list.

OK.

Oh...
Oh, you use your body.

OK, well, you're gonna be
doing that part.

What's missing?
A dash?

Yeah.

Check, please.

Oh, this is so wrong.

Yes! Thank you so much.
Thank you.

Thank you, thank you.

"Make your way
to Hawksworth Bridge..."

"..to receive your next clue."

Ooh, close.

Ready? This is the one.

You ready?

That was not the one.

Ha!

Whoo! Pok-a-tok!

Pok-a-tok!

Thank you so much. Thank you.

"Make your way
to Hawksworth Bridge.

"Canoe down the river..."
Yay!

"..Collecting engraved pieces

"and use them to re-create
a Mayan calendar

"to receive your next clue."

Ooh! My fat ass.

So everything is drenched
and there goes our drawings.

Which way to go?

We have to go that way because
that's where the sundials are.

OK, lie them all out.
Let's lie them all out.

Yeah.

That goes there.

Three eyes and a sad face.

Because all of these got wet,
we can't open them.

That's alright, babe.
Let's just do what we can.

One, two, three, four, five,
six, seven, eight, nine.

We split the calendar
down the middle.

So, I drew half
and Toni drew the other half.

This is seven.

It looks like a little something
in the middle.

Yeah, that one. That one.

Is that the right way?
Yeah.

That way?
Yes.

Yeah. Check, please.
Check, please.

OK. Alright. No worries.

Thank you.
Alright, let's...

Let's just do it slowly.
Start from one.

That's that one. That's that one.

I'm actually pretty good at drawing.
You're confident? Let's do it.

Check, please.
Check, please.

What does... Is it...

Wrong way? Like this?

Does it have to be the right way?

It has to be the right way.
Oh, OK.

Frankie, focus. Focus.

And then it's wink, wink, smiling.

I think that... Is that the same?
Yeah? That's good?

Check!
Check.

No?

OK, let's go have a look.
Sorry.

I know, but... it's frustrating.

No, that's the wrong way around.

Is it?
That's it. That's it.

Check.
Check!

That's it.

Check, please.

Congratulations.
Thank you!

Thank you so much. Thank you, sir.

Thank you, sir.
Come on, let's go! Let's go, Heath!

Route info. "Make your way
to Xunantunich

"and search for Beau
at the Pit Stop.

"Hurry - last team
will be eliminated." Let's go!

The Mayan people have been known
for their elaborate architecture
forever.

They built some of the best
observatories, palaces and temples

in the entire world.

The Xunantunich pyramids behind me

are a sacred burial site
of ancient kings,

and when translated,
means "stone woman",

and it is the sacred location

for the Pit Stop of the 14th leg
of the Amazing Race Australia.

And like a Pac-Man.

You got it memorised?
Yep.

Oh, this one's wrong.

This one's facing down.

Yeah, we're good.

Check, please!

I'm not running back over
that bridge.

Thank you. Thank you so much.
Thank you!

Yes. Beautiful. Done.

Check!
Check.

Yes.
Thank you!

Thank you very much, sir.
Congratulations.

"Make your way to..."
"..Xun... tun... tuch..."

"..and search for Beau
at the Pit Stop."

"Hurry - last team to arrive
may be eliminated."

He's scared face.

That one? No.

This one.
Yeah. Yeah.

Thank you.

Did you see Homer too?
Yeah.

Can I have a check, please?

No?

Yeah, let's just go run over.

Does it say leave our bags?
It doesn't.

Oh, man. The other teams
have all arrived.

Alright.

Come on, Jamus. Be helpful.

Can't just be all me all the time.

You don't do shit, man.
Hey!

Let's just go slow.

I think it's the bottom ones
where...

You don't know what it is.
No, but...

Shush! Let me remember this.

Babe, are you gonna remember that?

Waffle man. Yes.

Yeah. Let's go.

Are you sure?
Yes.

Let's go.

Right when we hopped into our car,

we saw Frankie and Angel
hopping into their car.

Is it there?
It's 11km away.

Drive. Let's not
let them overtake us.

Let's go. Let's get out of here.

So, Heath and Toni have overtaken us

and we've got Pako and Mori
right behind us.

Alright. We're heading to...
Xunantunich. Ha!

Xunantunich.

How do I say it?

Xunantunich.

I don't know.

"All people bar the driver
must get out

"and travel by foot on the bridge.

"Only four cars at any one time."

Stressed. Stressed.
Need to calm down.

Ahh!
600 metres.

Oh, that looks beautiful.
Is that it?

That wasn't a bridge,
that was water.

Yeah, but there was, like, cars.

Like, it's... the bridge moves.

Maybe that's it.

Stop.
I don't know.

I just put in the coordinates
and she said this is where it is.

Should we keep going, then?

We started dragon boating
about six years ago.

To be with a paddle in our hands
on the water in Belize

was magic.

Beep-beep! Beep-beep!

Sorry, little girl.

Still gotta go to that one
over there.

Hey, sir...
We're racing.

We noticed that there were a couple
of other cars behind us,

and it was only four cars
allowed on the bridge.

This is the only bridge, he said.
OK.

And we got... what,
got to wait for...?

Can we go?

Some really nice gentleman came out

and told the bridge driver
to let us off by ourselves.

So we lucked out there big time.
Yeah.

Thank you, sir!

Can I help?

Frankie and Angel
are just behind us.

It would be a tough road race
against him.

You go, babe. Go.
Good to go?

Yes, darling.

Yes, darling.

Keep going, baby. Keep going,
because Frankie's fast.

I'm so glad they didn't
get on that boat.

Oh! Could you imagine?

No, this is not it.

There was a ferry just tucked
on the side of the road

that we had to get on
to get to the other side.

That's the ferry.
That's the ferry.

We found out that another team
had drove in straight past.

Where is this?

Go straight.
Yeah?

You see over there there's a car...
Yeah. Is there a bridge?

Mm-hm.
Let's go down there and have a look.

OK. Thank you.
Thank you.

So let's just hope Pako and Mori
didn't get in front of us.

Come, come. Oh, my God!

Wait, wait! Wait for me!

I'll start doing mine
and you do yours.

We need this one
between the pickles

and the... pickles...
Three pickles.

Pickles and the long black lemon.

Lemon. Yep.

Marshmallow.

Oh, no, that... Yeah, that's it.

OK. Where's the check? Check.
Check, please!

I know we...
- Yay!

Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you!

Check, please!

Congratulations.
Oh, thank you so much.

Check, please.

He's going to say yes, girls,
you're amazing.

Congratulations.
Thank you!

Yay!
Thank you very much.

Congratulations.
- Thank you.

Thanks so much.
Thank you so much.

"Make your way to Xunantunich..."

"..and search for Beau
at the Pit Stop."

"Hurry - the last team to arrive
may be eliminated." Let's go.

Oh, whoops!
Thought I was in Australia.

Unlock the car!
I got it.

Let's go!
I've got it!

Wow, we're going home.

Just guide me to where I'm going.

Is this the bridge?
This is the bridge.

Yeah. Look.
"Xenatush", or whatever it is.

It's locked.

Found my sunnies?
Yeah.

More up ahead.

There's the flags. Come on.
Motivation coming back.

Wow, this is stunning.

Oh, here they come.

Welcome to Xunantunich.

Thank you.
Thank you so much.

It's stunning.

Heath and Toni, you are
the first team to check in!

Yes!
Yes!

Yeah!

You're one step closer
to the ¤250,000 cash

and brand-new Isuzu D-Max
and brand-new Isuzu Mu-X.

Wow.

But today you've won
a three-night stay

at a five-star luxury Bali getaway...

Oh, yeah, baby!
..Thanks to Bali Bible.

Yes! That is awesome!
Yes!

Bali, baby!
I love Bali, man.

I love Bali!
Yeah, we love it.

You love Bali?
No.

Shot down.

What about you?
You're more of a Vegas guy.

What a beautiful place we're in,
right?

My God, yes. So spoiled.

I've been to some crazy places
in my life,

but this is pinch yourself moments.

It is.
It's absolutely stunning.

The whole day has been like that.

The challenges...
I can't believe it.

Yeah. Can't believe we're first.

Let's go.
We're nearly there, Mori.

Let's go find Beau.
Let's go.

Look!
We got to run.

Oh, my God. It's a temple.

Wow!

Pako and Mori. Always up the front.

Finish strong.

Welcome to Xunantunich.

Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!

Welcome, boys.
Hey, mate.

Pako and Mori, you are
the second team to check in.

Oh! What a day.

And real men wear pink.
You know what I'm saying, boys?

That's right.
It's the two in the pink.

We made it!

Let's go.
Let's finish this.

Here we go.

And three!

Welcome to Xunantunich.

Thank you!
Welcome! Thank you!

Beautiful.
You haven't checked in yet.

You gotta get her feet down.
Oh!

Angel and Frankie,

you are the third team to check in.
Whoo! Good work.

And you're one step closer.

Yes.

Even though the steps... up a pyramid.

You guys think you can win
this whole race?

Absolutely.

It's just all about faith.

Great to see you,
and good to see you're confident.

Thank you.
Stay safe. Head down there.

Thank you.

Oh, my God.

Where am I turning?

Not yet.

Oh, I'm going this way.

Keep going straight.

Coming up...

Let's go.

Oh, help, help, help!
Get up!

Oh, wow.
Babe...

Will a race to the top
end in a downfall?

I'm about to lose this big boy.

Jamus! Come off the edge!

Who's behind us in that car?
Is it Chelsea and Jamus?

Yeah.

We've got Kelly and Georgia
and we've got the mums

in front of us at the moment.

Jamus, keep going straight.

So, I think Tiff and Cynthia
are already way ahead of them

and probably already on the bridge.

So we are currently
in last position.

Why are you slowing down?

Because the dot is there.
It's back there.

We drove straight past
where we were meant to go.

I honestly don't know.

Like, it's telling to go
back to the same place.

Alright, so it's coming up soon.

It's not turn right or anything?
I don't go right?

I don't know.
Keep going.

No, not yet.
You sure it's not that?

Yeah, I'm sure.

You sure?
Yeah.

OK.

Is this the bridge?

It says Xunantunich
Archaeological Reserve.

Turn down, turn down. Turn, turn!

Go! Just cut them off.

Oh,!

Oh, you're ki...
We can get in the last slot.

Oh, they've gone down there.

Alright, well, now it's too far,

so that might have been
what you saw.

Do you guys speak English?
Yeah, I can.

Can you tell us
how to get to the part

where our car goes across the river
on a boat?

On a bridge?
On a bridge.

Right over there.
Oh.

And the car can go across?
Yeah.

OK. Thank you.

You're on the wrong side
of the road.

Yeah, I know, I know. I know, I know.

Jamus, why is the car moving?!
Oh, my God! What the?

OK. I'm gonna get the bags.
Get ready to run.

Ready?

Oh,!
Sorry.

OK, go, go.

OK.
Do I leave the keys in here?

Leave the keys.
OK.

Let's go, G.

There it is.

I think that's it.

Come on.

Can you take my bag? Quick!
I'm gonna...

Can you keep running?

Come on.

Let's go.
Let's go!

Come on, hon!

Here. Help me!

Help. Help, help, help!
Get up!

Oh, wow, it's Chelsea and Jamus

and Kelly and Georgia.

Keep going.

Are you ready to run?

Wow.

Oh, mate. You sound like
you're having a heart attack.

Chelsea and Jamus, you are
the fourth team to check in.

Oh, what?

What?
That makes you, Kelly and Georgia,

fifth team to check in.

Good work, guys.

I love you.
I love you.

Hey, guys, you can sit down
if youse want,

'cause you gotta
watch that hill, bro.

Janus, watch the hill!
Bro. Bro, bro, bro, bro.

Janus, come off the edge!
Bro, bro, bro.

OK, just sit down. Sit down.
Sit down, brother.

Sit down. Sit down, sit down,
sit down, sit down. Sit down.

Please sit down.

Down! Meanwhile
you're going backwards.
Sit. Sit, sit, sit.

You sit down too, darling.
Please sit down.

On the mat, on the mat. On the mat.
Don't go near that edge.

Alright, we're going to let youse go

'cause I'm about to lose
this big boy.

Bring it in.
- Yeah, yeah.

Thank you.
Alright, go and rest.

Go this way. Down here, down here.

Down here. Watch the hill.
Watch the hill.

Watch the mountain goats.

Watch the Mayans.

Thank you, Beau.

And watch the rattlesnakes.
Oh, stop.

Wow.

I'll bet you Chelsea and Jamus...
They already went across the bridge.

Yeah, probably.
While we were up...

And we're back...
we're back in last again.

Yeah.

Let's go.
Go, go, go, go, go.

The girls are going to
beat us there.

Come on, babygirl.

Let's all hold hands.

Come on.
You guys go on the mat first.

Claire...
You got this.

Wow! How amazing!

You can do it!

We've got eyes.
It's Jodie and Claire.

Oh, Tiffany and Cynthia. Wow.

Come on.

Wow.

One.
Come on.

Two.

They don't realise
what's about to happen.
Come on.

Risking elimination,
they're still waiting for each other.

Oh, my God.

Your feet...

..one millisecond
landed before her feet.

So, Tiffany and Cynthia, that makes
you the sixth team to check in.

Well done, guys.
Congratulations.

Good job.

That makes Jodie and Claire
the last team to check in.

Yeah, we know. That's OK.

It's OK.
You know?

Yeah, we know.
But if she stepped before you,

you were going to be
the last team to check in.

I wouldn't have done that.
No.

They only held back to help us.
They held back to help us.

It's OK.

Have you enjoyed your time
on the race, girls?

Oh, my God. So good.
We've had a great time.

Yeah.
We have had the best time.

Jodie wanted three legs,
I wanted three countries.

You got four.
I got four.

Like, honestly, once in a lifetime
experience.

I know. It's hard, man.
I hate doing this, mate.

Jodie and Claire, you are
the last team to check in.
Yeah.

But we will not be eliminating
this leg.

Why?
No way.

Due to injury.

Fliss has sprained her ankle
really bad.

That's another bittersweet...
My God.

We're still here.

But it just shows how brutal
this race is.

There's serious injuries every year.

We see it every single year,
someone goes to hospital.

Yeah, it's heartbreaking.
But that's the way the race goes.

I can't believe we're still here.

Bring it in.

And I reckon tomorrow
I'll get a smile out of you.

Please.

Come on, darling. Bring it in.

Thanks, Beau.
Wow.

Thanks, Beau.
Head down that way,
and I'll see you next leg.

Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.

And this is a spectacular place.
Beautiful!

That was one of the most epic legs
I've ever been involved in.

The race stops for no-one.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Next time on The Amazing Race
Australia...

On the island of Caye Caulker...

Oh, my God!

..The waters are so inviting...

That's massive, eh.

It's not going to
eat your hands off.

You got an edge?

..Some teams...

There's sharks, like, right up.

..May not get out.

Holy sh...
What? Oh, my God.
