Skin Wars (2014–…): Season 2, Episode 5 - Episode #2.5 - full transcript

In the wild world

of competitive body painting,

there's nothing more fierce

than the power

of transformation.

Skin Wars.

The only limits

are your imagination.

You won't believe your eyes,

as 12 of America's

most talented artists

compete

and push the boundaries.

Absolutely breathtaking.

Some will rise to the top,

while others will watch

their dreams go down the drain.

It felt pretty flat.

It's the challenge

of a lifetime for $100,000

and the ultimate title

of Skin Wars champion.

- Walking
- into the work room,

I see this big purple door,

and I don't know what to expect.

I'm just like, "Uh--"

Hello, painters!

Hi.

How's everybody feeling?

- -Pretty good.
- -Fantastic.

- Are you ready to hear
- about the next challenge?

- -Yes.
- -You sure?

Yeah.

Knock, knock.

- I was just like, "What's
- hiding behind door number one?"

Who's there?

Orange.

Orange who?

Orange you glad

you aren't Fernello?

- Yeah.
- Ru just went there.

- Too soon, Ru.
- It's too soon.

Please welcome the queen

of comedy, RuPaul Charles.

Hi.

For your first challenge,

you will have two hours

to create a body paint

that makes Ru laugh.

Oh, my God.

I'm a classically trained

oil painter,

so I'm not a stand-up comic.

You will be judged on

creativity and design concept,

technique, and execution

of the challenge.

And the winner of this challenge

gets a big advantage

in the next challenge.

Everyone understand?

-Mm-hmm.

-Good. Your time starts now!

My heart is racing,

because I'm not a funny person

when it comes to my art.

I start thinking "dirty jokes,"

- because I think Ru
- has a dirty side,

but I don't know.

What's the challenge today?

To do something that's going

to make them laugh.

- I feel like
- you'll be good at this.

We only have two hours?

We can make her, like,

with a really bad spray tan.

Body painting does give me

my own individual identity.

My husband is a worship pastor

at a church in Park City,

and I'm a stay-at-home mom.

There was a time, before

I did start body painting,

that a lot of times,

people would refer to me,

"Oh, Robert's wife,"

or, "Maximus and Bianca's mom,"

and now people know me for me.

I finally gained

my individuality back.

- Okay, I'm gonna airbrush
- your face, so close your eyes.

It would just be so amazing

to win this, to show that,

as a woman and as a mom,

that you can do it too.

We have a hour and six minutes.

Paint your models.

Comic books and cartoons

is where I started.

And the cartoons were so clever

in making a humorous situation

about something serious.

I'm looking forward to seeing

Cheryl Ann's piece.

The previous challenge

had Cheryl Ann and her model...

Vivienne Pinay as Nicki Minaj.

...and the model crashed

her whole concept in the ground

by saying

that she didn't like any of it.

- I wouldn't even post
- a selfie of this.

Is someone paying her

to throw me under the bus?

Would you, personally,

like a booty like that?

I started drawing

the bus, and a drag queen

is driving the bus, saying,

"Wrong makeup, fish."

We only have ten minutes left.

How we looking, Cheryl Ann?

Oh, we're looking hilarious.

I really hope

he thinks this is funny.

Oh.

So mean!

Guys, only one minute left.

Okay.

Time's up. Tools down.

Whoo-hoo!

Are you feeling good, guys?

- -Yes.
- -Yeah.

- -Hi, Avi.
- -Hey, Rebecca.

- -How are you?
- -Good.

- Oh, wow.
- How beautiful.

- -Ta-da!
- -Oh.

And who's the bald black guy?

-It's you, RuPaul.

-That's me, uh-uh.

Yes, and this is Rebecca,

and this is Craig Tracy.

- -Oh.
- -Oops!

So... and Craig Tracy

peed himself.

Oops.

-He made an oopsie.

-You know...

Do I have my hand in my diaper?

As a baby, everyone trying

to explore their privates,

- so that's what you're doing
- over there.

Yes, yes.

-Well, you nailed me.

-Yes.

And how can I draw you,

RuPaul, without saying,

- "You better werk it"?

-You better werk it.

-Okay. Thank you, Avi.

-Thank you very much.

Hi, Lana.

- -Ta-da!
- -Oh, my goodness.

I was thinking I will

paint all painters who survived.

We are sitting on the clouds

of balloons.

We are dreaming about winning,

and I painted you,

like, critiquing us.

And you

have this powerful thing,

like, to bump our balloons

and make us, like, fly away.

So basically,

I'm a dream killer?

- Yes.
- That's what you're doing.

Killing people's dreams.

And I was blowing my balloon,

and I'm escaping,

so, like, you cannot

do "boom" to me.

No matter what,

you cannot do "boom" to her.

- -Thank you, Lana.
- -You're welcome.

- -Aryn.
- -Hello.

-I present Plumsy!

-Oh.

The alien from Cabitron.

And she would like to say hello!

-And these are her friends.

-Wow.

This is Dave,

and this is Bwewp.

- -Bwewp?
- -Yeah.

-Where the party at?

-He likes to party.

This is very, very creative.

- -Well done. Thank you, Aryn.
- -Thank you so much.

Thanks, Aryn.

-Well, Sammie.

This is Chloe, so she

decided to spray tan herself,

but she just doesn't know

what to do, so she's sad

- and everything,
- so she gets all crazy.

- And then she's like,
- "Well, maybe I should

- put some clothes on;
- I don't know."

- -So let's try a skirt on.
- -Oh.

- But she's not quite sure
- about that.

- So let's maybe try some shorts
- and see how that looks,

but she's just not quite sure.

So she ends up

going back to the skirt

- and runs out the door
- forgetting her top.

- -Oh.
- -Forgetting her top.

Oops. Thank you, Sammie.

Yeah, thank you.

Hi, Rio.

So here,

I have our last competition,

where we have Cheryl Ann,

under the bus,

by our drag queen

who is driving the bus.

- And we have her over here,
- "Is someone paying you?"

Oh, "Is someone paying you?"

And we have the producer,

- the powers that be,
- throwing money out of the sky,

and she drives a Skin Wars

bus over her.

And you see the back of her ass

hanging out of the bus.

That is so funny.

-That's very funny.

-Yes.

-Thank you, Rio.

-Thank you.

I am in shock

that Rio decided to do that.

It's just rude.

- -Hi, Cheryl Ann.
- -Hi.

I created King Cat,

so it starts right here,

and King Cat

is smoking a cigarette,

but it's not just any cigarette.

You know, watching

Cheryl Ann tell her story...

So the funny cigarette to put

King Cat in this deep sleep...

...this is a disaster.

You look around the room,

- and everybody's kind of
- like this.

And then King Cat lands

to the baby mouse family.

-Thank you, Cheryl Ann.

-Thank you, guys.

- -Hi, Dawn Marie.
- -Hello.

- I had a little bit
- of a hard time,

a couple challenges ago,

with my partner, Cheryl Ann.

- Kind of got thrown
- under the bus a little bit.

- -Is the bus still running?
- -The bus is.

- I don't know, but I'm nervous
- for us, next.

But the bus is driving away,

- and it's leading
- my lovely partner away

on her horses,

into the sunset.

That arm represents Cheryl Ann

riding off into the sunset?

Yes, because she's not

on the show anymore.

Oh, the shade.

- -Hey.
- -But it's kind of ironic,

because you were a little lucky

that it was my painting skills

that saved you

from being eliminated that day.

-Oh!

-It's just a little ironic.

Oh, we didn't

just go there, did we?

- -Great. Thank you, Dawn Marie.
- -Thank you.

Mm-mm-mm, the fire just got

turned up in the kitchen, Lord!

Hi, Kyle.

- -How are you guys doing?
- -Good.

- -I was wondering,
- are you allergic to shellfish?

- -No, I'm not.
- -Oh, thank God.

'Cause this is my peep show

under the sea.

Well, let's open the curtains.

-Oh, my...

-Oh, my goodness.

Those are curtains, aren't they?

And we'll bring

the mermaid out.

- And that's the mermaid,
- on her bottom there.

- It's a mermaid.
- There's the tail.

Oh, and look on the front.

She's got a crab,

and cash in the hand,

- and then there's
- a dirty martini in the other.

- And look
- at where their claws are.

Yep. Well, let's see

the whole show now.

It's an under the sea

strip club.

We are gonna seek help

for you, Kyle.

I screwed this one up.

Nobody gets it, and the judges

are kind of like...

- -Okay.
- -Now,

- what made you laugh the most
- back there?

Well, Rio's.

The storytelling

was so creative,

so funny, and then the

execution was--was beautiful.

I thought that Aryn

did something so different

from everybody else.

No one has done that before,

where they've turned

their model upside down.

Lana had

that adorable painting.

Those little caricatures

were really good, actually.

And the story,

which is very funny.

- -The dream killer.
- -Yeah.

Cheryl Ann strikes me

as a serious-minded artist.

- King Cat,
- with the funny cigarette?

- Obviously,
- it wasn't like "ha ha ha,"

but it was clever.

- You know, I think
- it was probably funny to her.

Oh, yeah.

Okay, so have you made

a decision?

Yes. I have.

Let's go tell them.

- All right, painters,
- you've had two hours

to create a piece

that makes Ru laugh.

- Okay, let's find out
- who our top three painters are.

Lana.

Thank you, guys.

Rio.

Aryn.

Uh-huh!

You all are fantastic painters,

and your creativity

just blew me away.

Lana, those balloons

and the boom?

It was hilarious.

Thank you.

Rio,

that **** cracked me up.

Thank you so much.

Thank you, Ru.

Aryn, you turned

your model upside down,

and it was so creative.

Oh, thank you so much.

All right.

It's time to crown our winner.

The winner

of this challenge is...

All right, painters.

You've had two hours to create

a piece that makes Ru laugh.

The winner

of this challenge is...

Yeah!

Congratulations, Rio.

You're our winner.

It just cracked us up,

and you've set the bar

very high for yourself.

Congratulations, Rio.

I'll tell you your advantage

in a moment.

All right, painters.

If you thought the competition

was brutal before,

it's about to be

an absolute bloodbath.

- -Hello, painters.
- -Oh, my God.

It's Jigsaw

from the Saw movies.

You are being divided

into two teams.

Each team will get four

perfectly innocent models.

- Your job is
- to transform their bodies

into perfect visions of horror.

Make sure your artwork

is to die for.

Yes!

Well, as you know,

that was the iconic character

Jigsaw from the insanely

successful Saw movies.

In your first challenge,

we got to see your comedic side.

In your next challenge,

we want to see your dark side.

Each team must create

cohesive body paintings

with a horror and gore theme.

One painter from the winning

team will be our winner,

and one painter from the losing

team will go home.

Who has experience

in horror and gore?

Wow.

-Across the board, except for--

-Except for me.

But I'll see what happens.

Rio, you won

the last challenge.

That means you get

to pick your teammates.

- Okay, Rio.
- Who's your first choice?

Um, my first choice...

is Aryn.

Hey, all right.

My second teammate...

is Avi.

Oh, yeah!

And my final teammate is...

Kyle.

- I'm picking Kyle
- because I remember him

telling a story about being

eight years old and coming up

- with this entire
- haunted house theme,

and I know that Aryn had

some history in that, as well.

Avi is very good technically,

and so I feel great

about my team.

So that means Lana,

Dawn Marie, Sammie,

and Cheryl Ann

as the other team.

We can do this.

Oh, I know we can do this.

I've done it.

I'm actually really

concerned about Cheryl Ann

and Lana's background

when it comes to scary things.

Lana's pieces

are just charming and cute,

and Cheryl Ann's never done

anything scary in her life.

Okay, so these are your teams.

- You have some time tonight
- to come up with your themes.

I hope you can sleep tonight.

I think whatever painting

that needs to be done,

Avi, I really want you

to utilize your brain

on what you think

would be scary.

- In the first challenge,
- I really screwed up,

and now I'm already put

on the back burner, but,

you know, I've grown up doing

haunted houses my whole life,

- so I feel like
- this is the challenge

I've been waiting for.

I know if I don't speak up,

- I'm just gonna get pushed
- to the side.

I need to step it up.

I have an idea that's crazy.

You know the "see no, hear no,

speak no evil"?

Well, I'm thinking

if you see no evil,

I know a trick where we can

rip her eyes out onstage.

- "Speak no evil," you can rip
- somebody's mouth

completely open.

Just, like--

I know it's crazy, but--

I really like your idea.

Yeah, I--I like that.

- Kyle comes up
- with a "see no evil,

hear no evil,

speak no evil" concept.

- So that's pretty awesome,
- actually.

We're gonna go with that.

- "See no evil, hear no evil,
- speak no evil."

We're gonna start there.

That's the name of the story.

Okay, how are we

gonna collaborate?

We turned the models

around to the back

and did a cohesive scary thing

that was like a scene.

I think they're

supposed to be characters.

- Ideas are being
- shut down all around.

I think when we finally reach

an idea, I think we'll be okay.

It's just this constant

"Bam! Down."

Or we can even do stuff

that's possessed by something.

Bam. Down.

I think we need

to paint our own characters.

I'm not happy about it

at all.

I could have broken

glass pieces of prosthetics,

like, coming off of her.

I'm on a team

with Cheryl Ann again.

Last time, I kind of got shoved

out of our dual piece,

- and I don't want
- to allow that again,

so I'm being very guarded.

Right.

So we are doing

a combined theme...

- -Okay.
- -...with the four of you

called Nightmare on Hill Street.

Dentures.

We finally decided

on doing an idea

where our house

that we're living in is haunted.

Let's get the pasties on you,

and we'll go from there.

Technically,

in an hour and 11 minutes,

we have to team together

so we can work on the back.

- We decided that each person
- gonna work

on his own model on the front,

and we're gonna combine

everything together on the back.

So I'm gonna get "speak,"

Aryn gonna get "hear,"

and Kyle gonna "see."

And we all decided

to create the nun,

and she's gonna be possessed

by our evil demons.

All prosthetics first thing.

I can use the nails as teeth.

Yep, or you could use

the vampire teeth.

Kyle is amazing artist.

- Don't do her eyebrows,
- obviously.

Oh, yeah.

I know Kyle from the body

painting community in Florida,

- and we turned to be really,
- really good friends,

so just being able

to work with him, it's awesome.

Mwah-ha-ha!

Holy crap, my god.

Wow!

Good morning, painters.

Wow, look at that!

Oh, my God. It's Tobin Bell

from the Saw movies.

It's so neat to be, like,

so close to such a horror icon.

So I'd like you all to welcome

our special guest judge,

star of the Saw movies,

master of horror, Tobin Bell.

- -Hello.
- -Hi.

- -Hello. Thank you.
- -What's happening?

And of course, you know our

resident judge, Craig Tracy.

-Hello, painters.

-Hi.

I want you to scare me

with how creative

your designs will be

and how masterful

and believable

your technique will be,

both at a distance and up close.

Tobin, what will you

be looking for today?

I'll be looking

for story and detail.

- What are the team names?
- I'm dying to know.

Nightmares on Hill Street.

Okay, and this team?

-We're The Gore Lords.

-The Gore Lords.

- Okay, well,
- we're gonna walk around

and take a look at your work.

Can't wait to see.

Hello, Gore Lords.

So our general concept

is "hear no evil,

- see no evil,
- speak no evil."

We have the symbolism

of the nun

- who is possessed
- by these demons.

Each of them are like demonic

representations of things

that she's been suppressing.

-Lots of conflict there.

-Yeah.

- Well, what's a story
- without conflict?

- All right, Gore Lords.
- Good luck.

Thank you.

Good morning, ladies.

Good morning.

So our set of models

is a cohesive story

about the horrors

that are happening

in the house

we currently live in.

- I was gonna do a clown,
- because to me--

- -I'm already scared.
- -Yes, I hate clowns.

I'm already scared.

- Like, to me,
- it's the creepiest thing,

to think of toys come to life

and then let alone kill you.

My character,

it's a zombie pole dancer.

- A zombie pole dancer?
- Okay.

So my character is based

on a toy that was left behind

in the house

that has been possessed.

I'm actually doing

a were-pire,

which is a vampire in the front

and a werewolf in the back.

I look forward to seeing

what you're gonna come up with.

- Thank you.
- I look forward to painting it.

Good luck.

- I feel responsible
- for the whole team.

-Coming together?

-Man, really good.

- Did you think
- I had that in me?

Yes, I do. That's why I had

you on the team.

I feel like my creative way

of directing

and putting things together--

We have an excellent team,

- and nobody is trying
- to push weight,

to try to be the headliner.

- Everybody
- is all working together

- to make sure
- that the art is the headliner.

- I think that's perfect.
- That's perfect. Okay, sketches.

- -Let's draw it.
- -There you go.

We have our plan.

Everybody paint the front,

get done, then go to the back,

- and let's all paint the back
- at the same time.

-You guys rock.

-You guys are amazing.

They might get

credit and points for ingenuity.

They're doing a unified piece.

We are all individually

working on our pieces,

- and the Gore Lords,
- they are working collectively

as a group.

- -We got this.
- -Ha!

So I hope I'm not screwed.

Three hours

till the final reckoning.

Aah! I don't like that.

We have five hours

to paint horror and gore,

and I'm truly focusing

on actually doing

a creepy scary face

and putting prosthetics on,

painting that,

and making sure that is,

like, the most scary feature.

- Sammie's clown face
- is the scariest face

I've ever seen in my life,

but she doesn't have

any other details.

You can't just have

a plain painting.

It's got to have design.

It's got to have a concept.

Two hours.

No pressure.

- -No pressure.
- -Oh, my God.

-No pressure.

-No, nothing.

Ooh, he's so creepy.

What needs to happen here is,

she needs to walk out.

- I think she should be
- the crawler,

'cause she can't see.

Yeah.

You'll be like--like this.

- That'll just kind of leave you
- to lead with your mouth

a little bit, like this.

- That's the way
- the entrance'll be.

We have 40 minutes left.

- Do you girls
- want to get together in 20

and go over the story?

Just give me

some time, sweetie, okay?

-I was asking a question.

-Yeah. I just need time.

I mean, it's a "yes" or "no."

I just said I needed time.

I am a little nervous.

- We need to get
- our models choreographed,

and I continuously ask my group,

"Do you guys want

to stop painting and do that?"

And I'm just met with,

"I'm still painting."

- It's like, "Who cares?"
- We know it.

Like, let us just paint.

On the last team challenge,

Cheryl Ann totally bullied over

and dominated Dawn Marie.

I was just really hoping to be

super strong in my concept.

"Our."

So I really don't want her

to take over this whole project.

Ugh! I'm getting

really tired of this.

- Cheryl Ann
- is a little bit controlling.

- Just tell your model
- individually,

- and then it'll take us
- ten minutes to go over it.

That distrust

that I am experiencing?

It's not a good thing,

but it's there.

You can't help what you feel.

- Do you have prosthetics
- on her back?

No.

Slap them on.

They're really easy.

- And those are badass.
- I would use them.

- Glue them on coming out,
- in the flames?

Yeah, like hidden in it.

Okay. Let me finish her leg.

Time is ticking, and I want

to complete the piece.

I don't want to leave her legs

just open to skin.

- I might need
- some help rushing this.

I am really trying not

to panic right now.

I'm looking around the room,

and the quality

of Lana's zombie isn't there.

The rib cage just

doesn't look very accurate.

- You are just,
- act like a zombie.

Like, really confused.

- I knew I was gonna go
- with all the zombie,

like, earthy skin,

but it wasn't that detailed.

So I feel nervous.

- Do you want more
- blood splatter on her,

or is that all we're doing?

Is that good?

- Oh, ****.
- You guys need help?

- Let me paint this white
- on her neck.

Touch it up one more time.

- We're down to five minutes,
- and I'm looking,

- and, oh, my God,
- we have nothing on these legs.

- You can't leave bare skin
- in this challenge.

Where is my damn makeup?

- We're all painting,
- you know, Rio's model,

trying to get him caught up,

and I'm so confused.

Man, if he would have just

worked on his piece

- versus coming around
- and checking on us

- every ten minutes,
- he would be finished.

- -You need to get this done.
- -You want help with it?

- Yeah.
- Let's just knock this out.

- Let's get everyone together.
- Come on. We have three minutes.

- -Come on, Kyle.
- -Okay.

- I got to turn
- the air pressure up.

- Possessed, possessed,
- possessed.

They are doing

some creepy stuff.

Let's kick it out, girls!

This is it, painters.

It's over

in five, four, three...

No, no. we don't have time.

...two, one. Time's up.

-Whoo-hoo!

-Time's up.

Tools down!

Oh, my God.

- It's like a house of horrors
- in here.

Ugh!

Painters, models,

follow me to the stage.

- I'm a little nervous,
- because my model

is not completely finished,

so if we happen to be

in the bottom,

- it could possibly be me
- that goes home.

Welcome, painters.

- -Hi.
- -Hey.

Each team had five hours

to create

a horror and gore design

with a cohesive look

using four models.

You will be judged

on concept and creativity,

technique, and execution

of the challenge.

In the end,

there will be one winning team

and one losing team.

And from those teams

there will be one winner,

and one painter

will be sent home.

Let's say hello

to our esteemed judges.

Craig Tracy.

- -Hello, painters.
- -Hey.

- -Robin Slonina.
- -Hi, everybody.

Hello.

-RuPaul Charles.

And our special guest judge,

from the Saw movies,

Tobin Bell.

- -Hello.
- -Hey.

Okay, painters.

- It's time for you
- to present your paintings.

It is so nice

to see my art come alive.

I stepped out of my box.

I tried something new

with my old-school vampire

with bat ears.

Put the hair into a bun

to make, like, a wolf face.

- I'm really happy
- with my piece.

- I've created
- really scary piece

with, like, a perfect zombie.

- And you can see kind of, like,
- insides, like your rib cage

and, like, your broken ribs.

- My model comes out,
- and she does a very good job

of how I imagined

a broken doll would walk in.

I like the colors I've chosen.

I like the mash-up of

kind of cute and kind of creepy

at the same time.

- I'm feeling pretty good
- about my piece.

It's definitely different

than anybody else's.

I have a really scary face.

- The prosthetics
- were done correctly,

and that's what I focused on.

So our performance is next,

and we all agreed on a story

to make it

a cohesive group piece,

and we have to kill it.

Many years ago,

an eight-year-old little girl

- was playing with her toy clown
- and porcelain doll

when a were-pire

came out of nowhere

and attacked her savagely.

While being attacked,

her older brother got home

from his go-go dancing

night job.

- He tried desperately
- to save her

but instead was impaled

by his traveling pole.

The little girl was hopelessly

mutilated and died instantly.

Her tortured soul then split

into two separate parts

and entered her doll

and clown toys.

- Who's--what?
- Where's the little girl?

- What's happening?
- Who's the brother?

Now the clown, the doll,

and her zom-brother

eternally seek vengeance,

causing nightmares

and tragic death.

- All right, Gore Lords.
- You're next.

I'm happy with the cross

ripping across the chest,

- and then just creating
- a little small skirt

and the rosary beads around it.

I am a bit concerned

that I didn't paint

the back of the arms.

- Like, I meant to paint
- flames back there,

but I didn't have enough time.

When I see the model's

coming to stage,

I'm proud of this piece.

I got the "speak no evil,"

so I stitched her mouth,

and so if she cannot speak,

all her body gonna be, like,

mouth, teeth, and crazy stuff.

- I'm a little disappointed
- that mine is

slightly more drab than

the other two of the demons.

- Mine was a little bit
- difficult,

since I just have ears,

just because ears

don't have a lot of, you know,

colorful aspects to them.

- I'm looking at mine,
- and I'm like,

"My piece is gonna

stand out the most,"

- just because
- of the whole concept.

It has a crown of thorns

around the eye.

- Looking at the other team's
- paintings,

they seem very detailed,

so in order

for us to be in the top,

it's really important

- to have our models
- nail the choreography,

because the actual scariness

is gonna come

from our characters' acting.

Forgive me, Father,

for I have sinned.

- Man, we came together,
- and we did it.

I'm extremely more than proud.

Whoo!

Ahh!

Okay,

Nightmares on Hill Street.

- The story was super confusing
- for me.

- I wasn't quite sure
- what was happening.

Where's the little girl?

Her spirit is now

in the doll and the clown,

- and she previously
- lived in the house

- that we're all staying at now
- on Hill Street.

Visually, there was a certain

disconnect between the pieces.

If you can make them

relate in some way,

it's worth giving that

thought and time.

Right.

Cheryl Ann, I think that it's

a super fun take on a vampire.

The concept and the colors--

Everything's really

very, very nicely done.

Dawn Marie, this is

a gorgeous technical painting.

Lana, I was unsold.

I found there to be a little bit

of technical problems.

I wanted a little more color.

I wanted a little bit

more concept.

The clown,

a little bit maybe simple

compared to the others.

The rips aren't

as convincing for me.

I wish that there was maybe

just edged-in highlights

or something to pop them.

Dawn Marie, who on your team

should win this challenge?

I like what I did.

- So, Cheryl Ann,
- if your team wins,

who should win this challenge?

I would like

to win this challenge.

Who would be the very bottom?

Well...

- I would choose
- Sammie's piece.

It's a lot of plain,

not very detailed clothing.

- I don't think
- I should be the one going home.

Dawn Marie,

who would be on the bottom?

Lana.

All right.

So, Sammie, who would be bottom?

Um...

Oh, I hate this.

I would choose Lana's.

- I think her zombie's
- really cool,

but it's not the typical zombie.

I cannot believe

they all called my name,

and I'm not happy with that.

- I don't want
- to be on the bottom again.

-Bottom?

-Lana.

I would choose Lana's.

They all called my name,

- and I was really surprised
- about it.

They're picking

strongest competitor,

'cause I can paint really well,

and I have a really strong

art background.

- Gore Lords,
- tell us about your work.

Our work is "hear no evil,

see no evil, speak no evil."

- We wanted to use the nun
- as somewhat

of a symbolism of confession.

We wanted to play off

a bit of exorcism.

These were the inner demons

that were within her.

I loved this.

I loved the theatricality of it.

Conversely, Rio, yours does

look a little under-painted.

I thought the presentation

was so disturbing,

in fact, I actually--

I really wanted it to be over,

because it was actually

quite scary to me.

I particularly liked the way

you worked together

to come up with a clear

and cohesive story.

The way Piper's hands were

in the semi-crucifix position

was heart-wrenching for me.

-Thank you.

- Wow.

Rio, you seem like

you're the unofficial leader

of this team.

How should we choose

who should win, who should lose?

Kyle should win.

If we were to lose,

I wouldn't be surprised

if I left.

Wow!

Kyle, how are you feeling?

- I'm honored,
- but I would like to disagree.

I felt like I lack the detail

on the eyeballs.

I'm not really proud of--

I love it.

Okay, Gore Lords.

Thank you so much.

Thank you.

Okay, painters.

- The judges have a lot
- to discuss,

- and we will bring you
- back out shortly.

- What do you think, guys?
- Are you shaking in your boots?

I was very taken

by the Gore Lords.

They didn't miss

an element.

Rio, he was the one

calling the shots.

Possibly at the

expense of his own painting.

The back was really

disappointing to me.

Aryn's piece

was my least favorite.

It didn't have the sharpness

that I was feeling from Avi

or from Kyle.

Avi? I wasn't sure

what I was looking at.

Like, is this the mouth

of one creature?

Is there multiple mouths?

- But ultimately,
- I didn't even care,

because I was so seduced

by the quality of the painting.

- -Yeah, it was really great.
- -Yeah.

And how about Kyle?

I feel like he's the most

improved painter here.

I think Skin Wars is really

changing him as an artist.

Oh, I know it.

- And the crown of thorns
- was a...

- -Oh!
- -...wonderful finishing detail.

And what about

Nightmares on Hill Street?

- It was kind of
- all over the place.

I don't think they were helped

at all by that story.

Was Cheryl Ann's vampire

magnificent?

It was magnificent.

- -I loved it.
- -Scary.

It was compelling.

- This is where we've been
- pushing Cheryl Ann

the whole time, and I think

she really came through here.

Let's talk about Lana.

It felt de-saturated.

You think there just

- wasn't enough
- interesting detail?

- There was enough
- interesting detail,

except for the pole.

I wasn't crazy

about Sammie's clown.

- You know, I thought
- it was pretty under-painted.

There wasn't enough detail.

And she doesn't

step up enough, you know,

so I'm not feeling

the passion from Sammie.

- The face,
- it was beautifully done

and everything,

but it wasn't sort of painted.

It was more prosthetics.

- I thought the porcelain doll
- was beautifully,

beautifully done.

Technically,

beautifully painted.

I literally went back

and looked for things

that I could critique.

It was creepy,

but it almost was too pretty

to be scary.

Okay, guys, so have you

made your decision?

- -Yeah. Yeah.
- -Yeah.

Welcome back, painters.

- Tonight
- there can only be one winner,

and for one painter,

it will be game over.

Team Gore Lords...

Congratulations.

You're tonight's winning team.

The Gore Lords

are the top team,

and I feel

freaking amazing about it.

Tobin, what'd you think

about this team as a whole?

It was cohesive.

It was horror but on a deeper,

human, gut level.

I loved it.

Thank you. Thank you.

For Tobin Bell to say

that he loved it...

oh, oh.

Man, it's just amazing.

It really is amazing.

Rio...

Aryn...

congratulations.

You are safe.

You may head back to the lounge.

Thank you.

My heart is, like,

racing on fear and excitement,

because I haven't won

a challenge yet.

Oh, my God, I have a chance

of actually winning this.

Avi...

Kyle...

you are the top two painters.

Avi, tonight's piece--

- I wasn't even quite sure
- what I was looking at,

but I didn't care,

because it was amazing.

Your technique, superb.

Thank you.

Kyle, I loved

your piece tonight.

I think that the crown of thorns

was a really nice,

horrifying touch.

Thank you so much.

You both did exceptional work,

but the winner

of this challenge is...

Avi, Kyle...

you both did exceptional work.

- The winner
- of this challenge is...

Kyle.

Congratulations.

You're tonight's winner.

I'm so proud of you, guy.

Ah, I finally win!

- I'm so thankful
- for my background

in the horror world.

Now everybody can see

what I'm capable of.

- I'm so happy
- that Kyle took it.

I mean, we friends

even before the show,

and I'm so proud of him.

Kyle, we looked

at a beautiful piece tonight

that was horrific

and basically perfect.

- -Thank you.
- -Thank you guys so much.

- You may head back
- to the lounge. Thank you.

Nightmares on Hill Street,

you are tonight's losing team.

Cheryl Ann...

Lana...

Dawn Marie...

Sammie...

unfortunately,

one of you is going home.

Dawn Marie...

Cheryl Ann...

you are safe.

Thank you.

- You may head back
- to the lounge.

- I do not believe
- I'm in the bottom two.

It's really stressful situation,

and I was on the bottom before,

but I don't want to go home.

Lana, I love the pole

through the head.

I just got lost a little bit

on the front

with some of the details.

Sammie, that clown face

was horrifying,

but the rest of the piece

just felt incomplete.

The judges really felt

it could go either way.

Sammie...

you're going home tonight.

You were awesome.

Lana, that means you survived,

- but you've been
- in the bottom two

two weeks in a row.

The judges want to see

more from you.

- Please go back
- to the painters' lounge.

Thank you for a chance.

See you, sweetie.

Sammie, you have mad skills,

but I feel like I didn't

get to know you that well.

I challenge you to delve

into your soul

and delve into your spirit

and see what's there

and what's uniquely you.

I'm sad to go,

to leave my painting family

and all that, but it's been

a pleasure to be here,

so thank you for having me.

Sammie, it's time

to wash off your canvas.

Thank you. Bye.

Good-bye.

Best of luck, Sammie.

- I'm really bummed
- that I'm leaving.

I would have loved

to have made it to the end

and win the $100,000.

But I came here,

and I showed my work,

and I showed who I was,

and I got to meet

a lot of amazing people.

Sammie!

Being here has meant

a lot to me, in a way,

a feeling of accomplishment,

- knowing that I could
- do something.

- I mean, I would have
- never thought, like,

oh, five, six years ago

that I would be

competing in body painting.

- I feel that I did do
- what I set out to do.

I made it here,

so I'm pretty proud of myself.

Next time on Skin Wars...

Let me please

introduce Carson Kressley.

Hi!

Oh! This is so cool.

- You will create
- a body painting

that's inspired

by the world of steampunk.

- Too much going on in my head
- right now.

- I don't know if I'm gonna
- be able to pull it off.

Yeah, I think you were

- more intent on trying
- to get back at me.

I think it's really,

like, childish.

It's just not steampunky

enough for me.

This has been

the most difficult decision

we've made all season.
