of traveling,
coming from the East Coast.

Where are we?

We're in Juneau, Alaska,
right now,

and it is raining and cold.

It kind of looks like

something out of
a Stephen King movie...

That it does.

...so definitely the right
atmosphere for a haunting.



Yep. Fun fact about Juneau --
can't drive in.

Can only get a boat or a plane.

Right, so if dark **** happens,

we're basically stuck here.

Yeah, we're on, like,
an island of doom.

Right? Well, let's hope not.

So we're in Juneau, about
to investigate The Alaskan,

an old hotel that is notorious
for its rowdy gold-mining past

and intense paranormal activity.

So, I'm actually really excited.

This is the first time

this has ever been investigated
for television.

Yeah.

The Alaskan was built in 1913,

so it's over 100 years old.

It was this epitome of luxury.

With that, though, came
this kind of seedy underbelly

of prostitution
and money laundering

and drugs and all sorts
of deviant behavior.

A lot of times,
we see that history --

especially that kind of
darker side of history --

coming into play
with paranormal experiences.

There's a lot of things
that people say --

attribute to the hauntings here.

What really fascinates me

is the different types of
activity that they're having,

because we don't always
run across that.

I mean, they've been seeing
a woman in their mirrors.

They're having, apparently,

very violent
poltergeist activity.

Yeah, I've heard people are
getting touched in their sleep

and are waking up seeing ghosts
floating above their beds.

I read this one account

where a woman walked into
the bathroom at The Alaskan,

and when she walked out, it was
a completely different building,

so she went through
like a time warp, almost.

Wow.

Which is really, really rare.

There's definitely
some oogie-boogie going on.

So, this is downtown Juneau.

and what's been going on there.

about the types of things that
people have been experiencing.

Well, Alice came in maybe
around the '30s, I would think,

and so Alice and her boyfriend
moved in and lived in 219,

and he went away to mine,
and while he was gone --

Now, this place was still
kind of a working woman's place,

and so she decided to take
a little on the side.

Well, he came home unexpectedly
and caught her,

and he shot her dead
in her bed... Wow.

...and then he
hung himself in 219.

I know you're super interested

in what's gonna happen
in your room,

but I want to hear about 315.

I could tell you when we go up.

Wow.

I keep all the curtains closed.

I got to get over there.

- You want to go to the exit?
- You need to stand over there?

Yes, I'd like to stand
by the exit, please.

It's a very weird vibe in here.

I checked this Navy sailor in,

and he said, "I want
the most haunted room,"

and I thought,
"Oh, great. Trouble."

I just knew that was trouble.

And then when he came in,
about 11:00 at night,

there was screaming,

and he started screaming,
screaming, screaming,

and he was saying, "Help!

Let me out of here!
Stop!"

Then, at some point,
he had cut himself,

and he wrote on the wall,
"Help."

And then just a bunch of blood,
and blood was everywhere.

And he was by himself
in the room?

Yes.
Wow.

I'm not gonna open the window,
but I am gonna show you this.

Then what he did was
he went through this window.

He jumped
through it? Yeah.

He dropped all the way down,
third floor.

How long ago did that happen?

Oh, it wasn't that long ago.

- That's pretty recent.

So this is why you keep
the curtain closed,

because of him? Yeah.

Also, there have been
reports of a poltergeist,

you know,
throwing things around,

and aggressive hauntings.

It definitely sounds like you're
gonna have a fun night in here.

...obviously, some deviant
behavior happening, right?

We've had a few things

we don't really like
to talk about

and a couple of experiences that
were traumatic to me --

like, something, for example,
in room 213.

What happened?

A man was beaten
and left to die,

and a lot of people can't stand
to be in that room

for that very reason.

What's been the thing
that kind of

makes you not want to come
to work on certain days?

I'm absolutely ready.

We used to rent out hot tubs.

The last hot tub
that we ever rented

is now a poltergeist.

What do you mean by that?

Charlie was a guest.

He died in this building.
He died in this basement.

In the hot tub? In the hot tub.

He drowned, but he didn't leave.

His anger, his feelings
of betrayal remain yet with us.

If we ever take anyone
down in there,

we run the risk that something
will happen to them later.

So, have people
seen him -- Charlie?

They've seen him

and they've felt him --

especially pretty girls.

are not human.

and I know that he's still here.

We've never used this room

The worst things he does
are to girls.

Guys he'll usually leave alone,

I've seen them
run away screaming.

He touches girls.
He gropes them.

of demonic spirits.

I've seen one of them,
a long time ago,

and they are more off in
the north end of the building.

What do they look like
when you see them?

Uh, I generally only see
silhouettes,

so I saw a dark image
that looked like it had horns.

Whatever's in the basement,

whether it's Charles,
a demonic entity,

I want to hone in.

What is it,
what's it doing there,

and why is it there?

The being that I saw

was back in the farthest,
darkest corner

of the entire building --
right back in here.

What did it do?
Did it just stay there?

It just stood there
and watched me.

So, why would a demon
be here, though?

I have no idea
why a demon would be

in this particular place.

Has there ever been a history

of any kind of satanic worship
in the hotel,

or any kind of...?

Anyone back in the '70s

doing weird rituals here
or anything

when it was abandoned?

Things have happened.

Priests have come through --
exorcists, even.

What's so special
about this place,

this building, its history?

Like, what is it that's
just drawing so much in?

Well, it's the meridians.

You would call them ley lines.

One of the things that we've
been coming up in our research

is the nexus of ley lines
that run under here,

and could that create kind of
a doorway to the other world,

which a lot of people
believe it can.

This building has a lot
of energy that flows through it.

I had a medium come in here,
and we befriended each other,

and she showed me
an actual video of orbs

floating down this very hall.

- Hmm.
- Whoa.

And she described a spirit

that kept her awake
through the night

that was floating
three feet above her in the bed,

and that was in room 203.

It's an energy vortex,
is what we're looking at.

It's a doorway for things
to come through.

Yes.

To be honest, I've been
doing this a long time,

and I'm thoroughly confused

as to
what's going on here... Okay.

...because
there's so much,

not only historically,
but also spiritually,

you know, and, I guess,

what Jack and I are trying to
get to the bottom of is, why?

Why do you have
so much activity?

A lot of times,
you go to a location,

and they're like,

"Ah, the woman in black
is seen over there,

and the man with the hat
is in that corner,"

and that's kind of, like, it,

but here,
it's every nook and cranny

has some intense activity.

He was throwing out stuff
about demons, talking in Latin,

was kind of
going all over the place

with all these other deaths
that occurred here,

and so Katrina and I discussed.

She's gonna go
talk to him alone,

try and piece together the story
a little more clearly.

Mm-hmm, and I consider that
to be diabolical.

Like 315.

I know that, at some point,
there was some sort

of dark magic that was
practiced in that room.

So, 315, you know for a fact,
people practiced

black magic in there
and that's also the room

where the guy threw himself
out the window.

Yes. I'm fairly certain
that there was something

diabolical happened there.
- That's a pretty interesting

correlation between
those two events, then.

So it turns out that Joshua

I ended up speaking
to a lieutenant

who was actually one of the
first responders on-scene here

when the gentleman threw
himself out the window?

- And what he described was,

when he got here,

he could hear a full
commotion in the room.

He was banging
on the door, saying,

"Let us in! Let us in!
Who's in there with you?"

It sounded like there
were two people.

So he heard two separate voices?

He just said it sounded
like two different people.

Gotcha.

And then he sent me
an audio file.

I've been actually waiting
'cause I haven't listened to it.

It's from like is body cam?

This was from, yeah, his --

Before the guy, cops
started wearing body cams,

they all just wore
little digital tape recorders

around their necks.

they were under the impression

that there could've been
more than one person in here.

some kind of aggressive
poltergeist-type entity

in here that was actually
responsible for this?

This thing keeps going off,
like all night.

I guess something consistently
that we are seeing

is that gear
is fluctuating a lot.

Yeah, I think that --
I can't explain this

reviewing the footage
from our rooms

because Jack and I found
some shared experiences,

but, I had really -up
dreams last night.

They were about murder.

I can't prove that it does
have any connection

to what we're doing, but,
it might have something to do

with the things going on here.

interacting with it.

It was just really thin, white,
just for like a second.

It was almost like
a long string of white

and it sort of went from the top

to the bottom
over your shoulder.

It's interesting
because I think, initially,

when Jack and I came here,

you know, we heard about Alice
and we fully expected,

"Okay, these are the spirits
we're gonna investigate.

This is who we're
gonna interact with."

- No.
- But Alice's story,

to me, it always
struck me as odd.

A murder-suicide in the 1930s,
there would be some evidence

of that happening,
so, that being said,

I'm not sayin' people haven't
experienced those spirits.

I just think maybe we
don't have the story right.

Has anybody ever come to you,
saying they were woken up

in the middle of the night,
feeling violated?

- Yes.
- What have they said to you?

A woman who was
a guest here described

there was no one in the room.

Hmm.
- This is an invisible presence

and she was being
pressed onto the bed.

Interesting.

I was in Alice's room,
investigating.

We had a camera operator with us

and one of our producers with us

and we were using
a audio device.

We specifically heard
the name Alice

come through three times.

- Wow.
- And then, we kept getting

the word rape come through
multiple times.

- Rape?
- Rape.

Wow.
- Yeah.

It was really rough back
in the frontier here,

in the beginning,
and so I'm sure

that women were treated roughly.

One of our production
assistants had a dream

about Alice and, in that dream,

Alice told her
she was misunderstood.

Misunderstood?!

Ugh! I'm getting
cold chills. Ah!

I think we should talk about

your experiences in your room.

Yeah. So, in 315, I think
I experienced what you described

as that spiritual highway
through the third floor.

You know, any time
that we were communicating,

it would send us in different
places on the floor.

Yeah, there's something
up there, for sure.

It felt like standing
in like a --

in like -- on a busy street.
- Mm-hmm.

I went downstairs
to the basement

with our producer Elaine
'cause we're both females

and you had said
specifically that Charlie

doesn't necessarily like
females down in the basement.

We had a device that tests
for temperature and motion.

Now, Elaine and I, we were
standing perfectly still.

We would ask for Charlie
to come forward

and this device
would light up and beep,

which indicates that something
in that area is moving

and it would only happen
when we asked for Charlie.

- Ah.
- Just from that session, alone,

we can say Charlie is here,
in some form.

Yeah.

With that, Jack was checking
through our footage

- Yeah. -and he found something
that we wanna show you.

Sure, so let me explain
to you this technology.

This is a very new camera
and what it does is

it overlays where there's
movement in a single shot.

It will only pick up on things
that, essentially, trip it off.

- Oh, wow.

I kind of looked up one time

and I thought,
"What is that?"

And it was that!

The only other time
I've something similar,

where it's like an anomaly
of a shadow show up on a camera,

usually has ties
to demonic hauntings.

We actually think there might be

a couple reasons why
that has been seen.

that have occurred here,

that took place here

and so I'm just curious about
have you ever participated

in any of the kind of more

Unwittingly.
This isn't something

I really like
to talk about, but,

I dated a girl, once,

whose mother
was using black magic

to control her family.

And I knew this.

Very foolishly, I remained

in a relationship with
her for almost a year.

During that time,
her mother somehow managed

to get a hold of a piece of hair

or an object that belonged to me

and the reason I know this

is because her daughter
had a dream.

She woke up and then saw

a demonic figure with my head.

I woke up simultaneously

- and I was living

- at the time.

Yeah. Okay, so there's
our missing piece

of the puzzle, right?

I mean, that's

really helpful information.
- Yeah.

Through the course
of our investigation,

we found out that Joshua's
been involved

in some stuff,
willingly and unwillingly.

He kind of opened himself up
more than he intended to

and maybe that's allowing
some of these things

to come through
and make communication.

But I think, moving forward,
you, in particular,

you have to be really careful.

Typically, my experience,

and, I think,
in your experience, too,

we haven't seen that end
very well for people.
