Naked and Afraid XL (2015–…): Season 7, Episode 3 - Gat-R-Done - full transcript

[suspenseful music playing]

[matt] this alligator is...
It's gonna fight like hell.

-Let me see if I can...
-[ryan] oh, man.

-That's some serious [bleep]
-[matt] let me see

-if I can get this off.
-[rylie] let me get

to the side of this
where I could snatch...

-[matt] yup, I got the rope.
-[rylie] oh, you got it?

-[matt] oh, he's fighting it.
-[rylie] okay.

What the [bleep]
oh, he's right here.

-He's right here.
-[ryan] oh, watch your knee.

[rylie] watch out. Hoo.

[bleep]

[rylie] oh, my god.
Here he is.

Oh. Oh, yeah.

-Okay.
-[rylie] all right.

Watch your hand.
Watch your hand.

[matt] all right. Let go
off the rope for a sec.

[ryan] yup. Yup.

-[matt] oh, boy. It's left?
-[rylie] it's left. It's left.

[ryan] I got the rope
if you wanna pick that

tree up
and get it off the line.

[matt] keep tension so he
doesn't get into this again.

[rylie] damn it.
All right. [bleep]

-oh.
-[matt chuckles]

-[ryan] whoa.
-[rylie] watch out. Watch out.

-[matt] watch your feet.
-Back up. Back up.

-[matt] where is he at?
-[ryan] watch your feet.

[rylie] don't let him
get under this log.

[matt] all right, ryan.
You go over to the shore

and see
if we can bring him in.

-[ryan sighs]
-[ryan] come on [bleep]

-come on [bleep]
-[rylie] watch out.

Don't lose your footing.

All right.

[ryan] we're gonna pull him
right on land,

where I'm pulling
this log through.

[matt] oh, watch out.
Watch out.

He's right below you.

You fall off the log,
you could fall off the log

directly into
the alligator's mouth.

You could fall off the log,

get tangled up in a cord,
and drown.

There's a lot
of variables here

and a lot of them
are dangerous.

[rylie] tell me when you're
ready for me to start

-giving you some line.
-[ryan] I'm ready.

Adrenaline.
I'm about to throw up.

[rylie] all right.
You ready?

We're about to let it loose.

-Okay. He's free. He's free.
-Ready?

-[rylie] go, go, go, go, go.
-[matt] all right, rylie.

Get off.
Hold on right there.

[ryan] I'm gonna wait here
'cause I'm not...

He's gonna [bleep]
like run into me.

[matt] yup. Yeah.
Don't pull him any further.

[rylie] we're literally
wrestling this alligator

out of the water
because we want

to even the playing field.

The water is his territory
but the land is ours,

and so we're trying
to get him up on the land.

All right.
So what are we gonna do?

-All right.
-Game plan.

Rylie and I
are gonna pull him up.

-[ryan] come on.
-[matt] once we feel

like he's stable,
we can deliver a hit.

See where it goes from there.

Remember,
they can run on ground

about as fast
as we can run, so...

-[ryan] yeah.
-[matt] all right.

All right. We're gonna inch
him forward slow, okay?

Nothing fast.
Rylie, you pull...

-You roll over that way.
-[ryan] watch out.

He's looking to move.

You ready? Okay.

Rylie, go ahead and wrap it
around that tree, okay?

Just keep...
Do a whole bunch of wraps.

Hey, riley, get behind
ryan here and get...

And get ready
to control his body.

All right. This is the point
where you can't slip, okay?

-[rylie] no mess-ups.
-All right.

As soon as ryan hits him,
we get him...

We get him
where he's under control.

All right.
All right, ryan.

Yeah, whenever you feel
like you have your moment.

And just keep in mind
you are between him

and the water.
It's a dangerous spot.

[matt] but just
if you feel safe, go for it.

You hit that spot
between his eyeball

-and the rope.
-[ryan] all right.

-You ready?
-[rylie] ready. Let's go.

-[matt] oh, yeah.
-[ryan] jump on him.

-Jump on him.
-[matt grunts]

-yeah.
-Woo! Woo!

[bleep]

[ryan chuckles]

thank god for a sharp knife,
my brother.

Oh, man.

[matt] a well-placed hit
right there.

[ryan] to get that alligator,

it was like a shot
of adrenaline

right to the heart
for all of us.

I have never felt
that level of adrenaline.

It was the most thrilling,
exhilarating experience

I've ever got to share
with teammates.

For team savage.

[matt] this gator
gave his life to us

so that we can live through
the rest of this challenge.

I'm very thankful
for taking his life.

One, two.

[matt grunts]

-[ryan] on your shoulder.
-[matt laughs]

-[matt] you got him.
-Woo!

[matt] between the tail,
the ribs, the jowls,

all of that good
delicious protein

which is gonna last us
a long time.

Ready?
We'll set this baby down.

-[ryan] one, two.
-[rylie] [bleep] guys,

-we did it.
-Good job.

-Good job.
-That is...

[rylie]
like a well-oiled machine.

[ryan] that move is risky,

only if you don't know
what you're doing.

But our expertise,
our skills,

and our teamwork

was absolutely
paramount today.

As a team,
we cannot be stopped easy.

-[rylie] oh.
-My god.

-[rylie] I'm worn out.
-Yeah. I know.

Adrenaline.

[matt]
go big or go hungry.

[rylie] woo!

[suspenseful music playing]

[narrator] in the southern
reaches of the atchafalaya,

the team of max,
gary, and amber

look to build
on recent wins...

[amber] yeah! Woo!

I caught another fish.

[max] yeah!
It's dinner, baby.

-[amber] right there.
-[max] woo!

-[amber] good job, max.
-Just the beginning.

[narrator] ...While avoiding
further tensions.

[gary]
this is gonna have to move.

[amber] well, it's actually
holding it out up.

No, that's a good...
That's good there.

-[max] no, it's gonna go.
-[gary] let's just bring

the next one and we'll see
where we're at.

'cause I'm good at this
[bleep]

and I know what I'm doing.

[upbeat music playing]

[max] yeah,
so today is day nine.

It's getting cold,

and we kind of wanna address

making our roof thatched
and dialed in.

It's rough
but we're still pushing

and, yeah, you know,

we're still in
for the long haul.

[amber]
clouds are coming over, guys.

[gary] yeah. That's why
I wanna get palm fronds.

I wanna make sure we're dry.

[suspenseful music playing]

[gary]
we have holes in our roof

and we need some more
palm fronds for shingling,

so I'm gonna swim
across the river

and go get some palm fronds.

[dramatic music playing]

oh.

Crap.

I see is what appears
to be a dead armadillo.

Holy crap.

Now, I don't know
if that could be taken out

by a snakebite.

It doesn't smell like death.

It smells like fresh.

This is the biggest
piece of meat we've got.

This is an incredible find.

I found it dead.

This is right up my alley.

You know,
if they don't eat it,

looks like gary's
gonna be eating big.

[amber] oh, my god.

[max] what?

Did you kill that?

Is that an armadillo?

-[gary] yup.
-No way.

[all] yeah!

[bleep] yeah, gary!

-[amber yells]
-[gary] hey, I found it dead.

-Oh.
-[gary] but it does not have

no smell
and not one fly on it.

It smells good.

[amber] I'll take it.

I mean, you'll see.

[max] I automatically
am apprehensive, you know?

Gary's notorious for eating
all sorts of rancid,

random,
and questionable meats.

[gary]
his head smells of life.

Smells of life.

[amber] oh.
This is so gross.

Gary, you're seriously
gonna eat more of this?

I know what I'm doing.

Is it rigor mortis yet?

[gary] no, no, no, no.

-[max] it's stiff?
-It's like...

Its tail is still moving,
it's still good.

-[max] oh.
-Like, it doesn't even smell.

If it was rigor mortis,
it would have some smell.

-[amber] I'm down.
-[max] all right. Only gary.

You're a legend, gary.

[max]
I've heard some bad [bleep]

about those [bleep]
animals though.

You know,
I think of all the things

that I've heard about
eating armadillo.

You know, you get leprosy.

You can get worms, parasite,

especially
if it's already dead.

You know, it's kind of, uh,
you know, uh,

I don't know about that, man.

But, you know, I am hungry.

Look out for alligators.

[amber] I am.

Be careful.

A little nervous
about the meat

but I'll smell it for myself
and, uh...

I don't wanna say
I'm gonna take a chance

'cause that could really
put me out of this challenge.

[gary] look.
Check it out, brother.

But it's not
rigor mortis yet.

-There's...
-[amber] oh, my god.

-That's really fresh.
-...No death smell.

-Yeah.
-[max] there's no... Yeah.

[gary] and it's...

And there was not
one fly on it.

Usually they find that
[bleep] in about an hour.

[amber]
this is a huge win for us.

There's no maggots,
no flies.

It didn't stink
on the inside.

Wowza. That's a find.

And gary golding did it.

What do you think?
Are we eating it?

Perfect time. Yeah.
Let's do it.

-You guys wanna eat it?
-Hell, yeah, I'm gonna [bleep]

I'm gonna [bleep] down.

Screw it.
We're gonna eat it.

I mean,
gary's gonna eat it anyway

so we might as well...
We might as well partake.

-Okay. Let's, uh...
-[amber] hand me the meat

and I'll start
boiling some water.

-What a find, gary.
-[max] incredible.

[suspenseful music playing]

[narrator]
eight miles northwest,

ej, sarah, and suzanne

overcame their differences...

[ej] you're an asset to me

and we all bring
our skillsets to the team.

[narrator] ...And weathered
their first storm united.

[sarah]
this rain is really intense.

It just a taste
of what's to come, I guess.

[suspenseful music playing]

[suzanne] I don't see
any gator line

hanging anywhere.

All right.
Let me go to the fish line.

[suzanne]
I have a pretty strong team.

And we're all
working together.

And that's important.

But other than that,
here we are on day nine,

and we have had
significantly lower number

of calories per day

than what we need to have.

So it is important

that we try to find

some larger
sources of protein,

sooner over later.

[suspenseful music playing]

[sarah] there's the tie-off.

-[suzanne] you found it?
-[sarah] yes, I did.

[suzanne] and?

It's broken
and the hooks are gone.

Crap.

[sarah] it's three hooks down,
suzanne.

-[suzanne] I know.
-[sighs]

it's never fun
losing a hook.

And it's even less fun
losing whatever it is

that might have been
on the hook.

[ej makes sound]

get in my trap.
Get in my trap.

To survive the wild,
you have to become wild.

[makes sound]

and I'm well on my way there
at this moment.

Get in my trap.
[makes sound]

it usually takes
between seven to ten days

to start really getting
attuned to your area,

understanding the lay
of the land,

and we're there.

Well, at least, I am.

They're simple snares.

Like that.

[chuckles]

you gotta be smarter
than what you're going after.

I think that'll do it.

I know they're coming
through here.

He just knocked it, so...

As long as he runs straight
through there.

It looks like a tunnel.
It'll be good.

Not much longer,
mr. Squirrel.

You're gonna be
a tasty treat.

[suspenseful music playing]

[matt] okay. Let's do this.

[rylie] oh, yeah.
Look at that fat layer.

[ryan] look at that.
The skin is so thick.

You... Like on a deer.
If you hit it like that,

you would probably
puncture it.

-[matt] oh, yeah. It's tough.
-[ryan] but...

-Look at that thing.
-[rylie] oh, lord.

Someone needs to stop Clearway Law.
Public shouldn't leave reviews for lawyers.
