Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing (2023–…): Season 1, Episode 5 - Mo Honey, Mo Problems - full transcript

[Cheeny] This is different.

[Steven] This is something
we've never done before.

[Matt] You gotta watch your back
for not just the animals this time,

but for the other survivalists.

[Gary] Run!

Yeah!

[choking]

[narrator] For
the first time ever,

12 of Naked and Afraid's
most skilled survivalists

are competing head-to-head

for 45 days in the
South African bush...

Whoo! [laughs]

...to crown the
best of the best...

Yeah!

...and win $100,000.

This is what I live for.

[Jeff] I will do anything
to win this challenge.

[narrator] Failure
means elimination.

Don't bitch about
[bleep] losing.

- [narrator] Only one will reach the end...
- [man 1 grunts]

[man 2] This
challenge is so rough.

...and will be the
Last One Standing.

Previously on Last
One Standing...

[Dan] I am so crossing
my fingers for a meat cache.

[narrator] As competitors
migrated to Zone 3,

they used their survival
skills to track caches.

[Jeff laughing] I found it.

[narrator] Jeff claimed
two animal pelts,

his first major
score since Zone 1.

I'm back!

- [Matt] Oh.
- [Cheeny] Oh, [bleep].

- It's a duiker.
- Yep.

[narrator] And Dan, Cheeny and Matt's
discovery gave them an immediate advantage.

[Cheeny] Nice work, boys.

[narrator] But a
slip of the knife...

- [Dan exhales] You okay?
- [Matt] That's pretty deep.

...put one competitor's
challenge in jeopardy.

[Dan] I'm just worried that's
gonna take him out of this challenge.

Ah, yep. It's pretty bad.

Now, I'm in big trouble.

- [Andrea] Hi, Matt.
- [Dan] Jesus. [scoffs]

[Andrea] Let's see, let's see.

[male medic] Yeah, we'll
have to suture that up.

It's a pressured area.
That's a problem.

[Dan] Yeah, that's
gonna be hard to heal.

[Matt] To injure your hand in a
survival like this, it completely hinders

everything about what
you can do and accomplish.

[Andrea speaking]

[Matt sighs]

[Jarryd speaking]

Matt, do I cut straight
down along the spine?

[Matt speaking]

I would say this is probably the
first time I've got my hand stitched

while trying to give somebody guidance
on how to skin out and process a duiker.

You don't get to
do that everyday.

Dan, the butcher,
getting it done.

Matt, I gotta see where Cheeny's at with
the shelter tonight and stuff like that.

[Cheeny speaking]

[Dan] Neither Cheeny or
I nor Matt have anything

set up for a shelter
at all at this point.

And Matt's by himself too.

So, I'm a little bit worried.

I want him to get
off on the right foot

and I'm able to finish skinning,
gutting and cleaning this thing

while Matt's sitting down,
getting treated by the medics.

This is a share pile.

- This is our pile.
- [flies buzzing]

Matt's pile.

[Matt] Three's enough, huh?

- [Jarryd] Four.
- Oh, four.

[Jarryd speaking]

- [Matt] Okay.
- [Jarryd speaking]

- [Matt] Okay.
- [Jarryd] Okay.

You know, at this point, I
am expecting a rough night.

I may not even get a fire going,

I may not have
anything for the night,

because by myself,
with the sun going down,

I just don't have time with
one hand out of commission.

[Steven] Just kind of
getting home base ready.

I'm exhausted.

I mean, we probably
covered several miles,

probably went up, maybe a
little over 1,000 feet in elevation,

drug it up here.

And, um, it's gonna be
a little bit more difficult

to survive in these conditions
than it was down by the river.

[narrator] In Zone 3, the
competitors face steep, uneven terrain

and dense brush
alongside high winds,

twenty degree temperature
swings, and a lack of game animals.

[Sarah speaking]

[Steven] Yeah.

[Matt] Who's my
closest camp over here?

[Sarah] That'd be us.

- [Steven] What up, buddy?
- [Matt chuckles]

- [Steven] Come on down.
- [Matt] It's the king and Sarah.

- [Steven] Let me look at you.
- I, uh, I found this today.

- So, if you need a hatchet at any point, let me know.
- [Steven] Works.

[Sarah speaking]

[Matt] Also,

that happened.

- [Steven] Break it?
- No. [exhales]

- Cut the living [bleep] out of it. It's a doozy.
- [Sarah] Oh.

- [Steven groans]
- [Matt] It's a doozy.

So, I was gonna ask if you all

would consider a possible...
Help me get my fire going up there.

- [Steven] Yeah. Totally.
- [Matt] Yeah?

- [Sarah] Yeah.
- [Steven] Yeah.

- [Steven] I got you, dude.
- [Sarah] No, we feel you, man.

[Matt] I was man
enough to ask for help.

Steven and Sarah
immediately came over

and, uh, helped me
get this fire going.

We can set the fire, kind of,

all right, here
somewhere, Steven?

- Right there?
- [Steven] Yeah, I got you.

Everybody's gonna
benefit from this.

I mean, he's by far, not only the best
primitive hunter in these challenges,

but probably the best
primitive hunter in the world.

Oh, [bleep]. You got a
dead log right there, dude.

[Matt] Gary came over.

Also helped grab
these big old logs for me.

[Steven] Between all of us, dude,
we'll get you a feeder log in here.

[Matt] And now, Sarah
and Gary and Waz

started chopping away
the brush from underneath

and, uh, helping me
collect some firewood

that I can't grab
with just one hand.

I appreciate you
getting that fire going.

[Steven] Yeah, no problem.

To have something
like this put me out,

and have them step in even
though it's a competition,

that is

[bleep] beautiful.

Has anyone told these people that
they signed up for Last One Standing?

Has anyone told them
that this is a competition?

[Steven] So, you're good, man?

[Matt grunting] I think
I'll make it. Thanks.

- [Steven] All right, buddy.
- [Gary] All right.

[Sarah] If you need
anything, just call.

[Matt] I watched six survivalists
out of the eight that are here

come to my rescue.

All but one.

[Jeff speaking]

- [Cheeny] Hey.
- [Jeff speaking]

[Cheeny] Yeah.

[Jeff speaking]

[Dan speaking]

[Jeff speaking]

[Cheeny] Yeah, we'll
give you your piece

and then, I'm gonna go deliver
the other pieces to everybody.

[Jeff] Oh, you guys are amazing.

[Cheeny] It was a little duiker.

[Jeff] Thank God
you found it today.

- [Cheeny] Yeah.
- Yeah, good job.

- [Cheeny] Thanks.
- Good job.

- Took us a long time but we found it.
- [Dan] Here you go, bud.

[Jeff] Yeah. Aw, man.

[Dan speaking]

[Jeff] Aw, dude, you're amazing.

- [Jeff] Aw, yeah. Thank you so much.
- [Dan] Enjoy.

[Cheeny] Everybody
gets a nice meal tonight.

[Jeff] Aw, man. I love this.

I come across Dan and Cheeny
and I see that they found the animal.

Well... And I notice four legs.

And I'm thinking,

"Besides me, there's
only four groups here.

That means everyone is
getting one of these legs

and I'm getting the spinal
column and some gut fat."

[Dan] Jeff's now fully realizing
that we were not really happy

with his behavior
whatsoever. [chuckling]

- Enjoy.
- [Jeff] Thank you.

So, we got a little, uh,
duiker leg and a couple ribs

which is absolutely amazing.

Here it is in the pot.

He split it up
between all the teams.

We get to eat tonight on
Day 14. That is something.

Little bit of the liver.

We decided to split
the liver up three ways.

- [Sarah laughing] [bleep].
- [Steven chuckles]

[laughing] I did not mean
to swear. Just came out.

[Waz] Little bit of broth.
Little bit of red meat.

Little bit of deliciousness.

- [Cheeny] Enjoying our spoils.
- Yeah, meat roasted, meat in the pot,

and meat in the bellies of
all of our friends out here.

- So happy.
- [Cheeny] It's good in the neighborhood.

[wind blowing]

[Jeff] Dan and Cheeny
gave me a little bit of meat

and this evening,
Matt cut his finger.

He's going down the
road of deception and lies.

And because of that,

karma's after him.

And that's right on his tail.

So, I'm so happy

right now.

The world could
not be any better.

[Steven] Ah, this
[bleep] wind won't stop.

[Sarah groans] Oh.

[Steven] Yeah. [sighs]

[Sarah] There is a very real
possibility for hypothermia.

[Waz] Where does Jeff get
off eating some of this meat

and he's not handing
hides out for people to use?

What's he offering in a trade
for what he got as a meat portion?

[chuckles] Oh, my
God. It's so good.

What a piece of [bleep].

I hope this continues
all night long.

I hope it rains.

I hope it's cold.

I hope it's miserable.

The windier it gets,
the colder it gets.

It may actually even lead to some
people tapping out of the challenge.

[Sarah] Struggling
with the cold.

And I'm [bleep] tired
of it. I'm [bleep] angry.

[man] Wind is no good.

[Matt] Real cold.

[Jeff] But for me,
I am sweating.

[exhales] Like, holy
crap, these hides.

[chuckling]

These hides are legit warm.

I mean, it's like a sauna.

I think I'm gonna
have to go for a walk,

just to cool down.

[chuckles]

The struggle is real, folks.

Struggle, it's real.

[Waz] Here's that

morning of Day 15.

Just with this elevation change,
we've woken up in the clouds

that used to be above us.

It was a, uh,

pretty chilly night.

[Gary] Pretty cold

last night.

We were lucky
to escape the rain.

[Waz speaking]

[Matt] I just injured my finger.

So, I'm gonna leave
the bow behind.

Just take the spear up with me.

Hunting will be really hard.

So, it's a, uh,
it's a lot of stress.

[exhales and whispers] Slippery.

[in normal voice] But, try to see
if I can't, uh, up the game a bit.

See if I can't start
thriving out here.

It's the largest pool of
water I've seen so far

and

I see some frogs.

[whispering] God,
they're so small.

[in normal voice] Small
enough they went through

the span of my spear here, so...

Take off the spreader
sticks completely.

All right. [grunts]

There's one there.

God, dang. It's so small.

Missed him.

[sighs]

[sighs] They're pretty quick.

Little tiny [bleep]. I
can't even tell if I got it.

The spear is not gonna be
working that good for this.

Probably have to just
go hand-catching style.

Tricky at this point
as well with my

injured hand.

I have to do it... Try
to do it one-handed.

I shouldn't get
that wet at this point

in the healing process.

It's frustrating.

Think I got, maybe, hour and
a half of sleep tops last night.

Yeah, you were one
that struggled last night.

[Sarah] I know.

I got rest but no sleep.

After my Montana challenge,

cold for me is a
little bit triggering.

[clears throat] It sucks.

But the major
difference there though

is that I had a bison hide.

- Ugh, God.
- I know.

Lack of sleep, man. That's
one of my biggest fears out here.

The weather out here,
it's hitting Sarah hard.

I'm worried about
her every single night

because with this first 21 days,

you are fully connected
to your partner.

If your partner decides
to tap, you're out.

So, I'm doing a lot
of the grunt work.

I'm carrying logs
up hills for fire.

I'm doing the water runs.

But, I'm not gonna
show on my face

that it is, you know,
a little upsetting.

That is a nice log.

How far did you
have to go to find that?

- [Steven] Uh, from [grunting] the water source.
- Oh, jeez.

You're a freaking champion.

[Steven] I'm so looking
forward to Day 21.

But, I gotta get through
these 21 days with her

and if I gotta do it lugging
100-pound logs up cliffsides,

then that's what I'm gonna do.

[grunts]

[Cheeny] All items were found.

[Dan] Yes.

'Cause it's only gonna
keep getting harder.

It is.

In this kind of environment,

you're not gonna find any protein
resting in a shelter, that's for damn sure.

[Cheeny] No. But what's
available here is not much.

Never been so hungry.

Cheeny and I are by far the
two skinniest people out here.

[Cheeny exhales] I just
got really light-headed.

[Dan] You okay?

I stood up too quick.

Everything just went like

- black.
- [Dan speaking]

There's a massive,
really nice tree of it.

[Cheeny] There you go.

[Dan] I have one of these plants
growing right outside my front door.

Never thought to eat it.

[Dan] Tastes good, huh?

It's kind of got, like, a lemony-lime
crunch flavor which is nice.

But, Cheeny's pretty tired.

The last three days have
been [huffs] exhausting.

[Cheeny] A little duiker
wasn't enough food.

'Cause honestly, if you're
up all night shivering,

you're burning five,
ten times more energy.

And I'm freaking exhausted.

I'd low crawl 10 miles
through broken glass right now

for a piece of salami.

[Jeff] Right now,

I'm looking for frogs

and any other type of
food resource down here.

Trying to get a little bit of
food in my belly every day.

Just to keep my
energy levels high.

I got my Frog Basher 9000 here.

[water splashes]

[Jeff] Mmm. Missed
him that time.

I'd have to say I'm in
the lead at this point.

[softly] Come on out
and play, little frog.

[in normal voice] Gary told me

that every single person was trying
to get my partner, Stacey, to tap,

so that I would go.

[whispering] Oh, man.

[in normal voice] That's not
playing sportsman-like here.

We're trying to prove that
we are the best survivalist.

How can you prove that
you are the best survivalist

when you're trying to talk
someone else's partner into quitting

so that number one contender
gets eliminated from a challenge?

They're fast, man.

I've gotta be watching my back.

This is war.

[Waz] Hey!

[Matt] Get off our rock.

[laughs]

What are you after, Jeff?

[Jeff] Catching some frogs.

- [Waz] Frogs?
- [Jeff] Yep.

[Waz] You got any yet?

[Jeff] Yep, got a few.

One of my strategies is
to demoralize the others.

And there's nothing
more demoralizing

than the others thinking that you're
doing far better than you actually are.

[Waz] How big are they?

Um, pretty decent size.

- [Matt] Mmm.
- [Waz] Oh, nice.

I know there's a lot of negative
focus on Jeff right now which I'm loving.

It means that everyone's focused
on him and not really looking at me.

I don't wanna pop up on people's
radar with three weeks to go

when I could pop up with
two weeks or one week to go.

So, I'm lucky.

In other people's minds, no one
would see me as a threat at all.

[Jeff] So, uh, Gary came
and saw me yesterday

and dropped the bomb that
all you guys were trying to get

Stacey to tap

- me out of the challenge...
- [Waz] No.

- ...early on.
- No.

- No, I didn't...
- I'm not saying we didn't think about it,

- but we encouraged Stacey to stay the whole time.
- [Matt] Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

[Waz speaking]

[Jeff] Gary said
everyone was in on it.

- [Matt] I didn't want Stacey to go anywhere.
- [Waz] No.

The flipside of it is, I don't
wanna hear you for the next year

running around saying, "I would've
won if Stacey didn't tap me out."

I'd rather just [bleep] beat you
down the track fair and square.

- I'm not gonna listen to you for a year, no.
- [laughing]

You will not be hearing me saying anything
but, "Look at my crown," my friend.

- [all chuckling]
- [Waz] All right.

You gotta have
the skill first, buddy.

Not just items.

- Please, Matt.
- [Matt] You could drive a nice car

- but doesn't make you, like... Doesn't make you good.
- You... Man.

I've spent time
with you out there.

And what I've seen,
I've not been impressed.

[Jeff] Really?

He's making mistakes like
almost chopping his finger off.

His confidence is waning
right now and he's lashing out.

And he knows that I
know his weaknesses.

Matt without a bow
is very mediocre.

I've never had a bow
in any challenge ever.

And yet, I've dominated.

The way you're trying to
win, you're never gonna win.

- [clicks tongue] Okay.
- [Matt] You can have all the [bleep] you want.

The person who wins is the
person who has the most skill.

- I 100% agree.
- [Matt] Not your items.

- You can have a lot of [bleep] when you lose.
- Skill gets you items,

- items makes, uh, your day a whole lot easier.
- [Matt] No, no.

Sarah's cold at night.
You have three hides.

How can we see
it any differently?

I mean, this isn't a game
of socialism out here.

This is a competition.

Like, I'm not just gonna
give the other team the ball

because, you know, they're, uh,
they're not happy at the moment.

Don't eat anyone else's meat.

When they get the
meat then, don't eat it.

[Matt] Yeah, then you should
have said, "I don't want it."

That's not on
your merits, is it?

Okay.

[Waz] Jeff's not contributing
back to the group.

He's only taking from it.

So, we're not gonna give
him anything anymore.

He's decided he wants to play this game a
particular way, so we're happy to do that.

Right, everyone else is sick
and cold and you're the best.

You're the best at
being a piece of [bleep].

[Dan grunts]

[Cheeny] There's
no food out here.

[Dan] I'm just
looking for fruit.

[Cheeny] Dan and I, our
fates are connected for 21 days.

And I don't know what
the migration's gonna bring,

if there's eliminations or not.

But we're still gonna
do everything together

because we will be connected
at the hip until we're forced apart.

[Dan] Come, look at
this map real quick.

See how far we
are from the berries.

Plums, whatever it is.

On the map, it shows fruits or
berries or something like that.

So, it might be right here.

See anything?

[Cheeny] No, nothing yet.

[Dan] Kind of looks
like the right kind of...

No, it doesn't.

[Cheeny] I think there's a
beehive right here though.

[bees buzzing]

- [Dan] Honeybees?
- [Cheeny] Yeah.

[Dan] Get the
[bleep] out. Really?

You really think
there's honey in there?

Probably, but I ain't
sticking my hand in there.

The African honeybee is one of your
worst nightmares when it comes to bees.

They're nothing like what
we have in the States.

They'll sting you to death.

They're relentless.

[narrator] African killer bees swarm
threats, pursuing for up to a mile

and stinging victims with a
unique double damaging venom

that induces extreme pain, human
tissue damage, and even death.

[Cheeny] They won't sting you
unless you [bleep] with their hive.

[Dan] Whoa.

[Cheeny] I've already had
my African bee experience.

So those are definitely bees.

I came this far to
get stung for honey?

I don't think it's
worth it to me.

[Dan] Go investigate.

[Cheeny] One stings you, they'll
all sting you though. So be careful.

[Dan] Yeah.

[Cheeny] I ain't going near a
killer... African killer beehive.

'Cause once those
things start stinging,

they sting you till you're dead.

[Dan] This beehive is dangerous.

But immediately, I'm like, "Ding,
ding, ding. Sugars, carbohydrates."

That's everything
you need out here.

[Cheeny] Honey be pretty sweet.

- [Dan] It brings us sugar.
- [Cheeny] Mmm-hmm.

[Dan] We'll look at it
from the other side quick.

There's great resources
in there but it's, like,

in a small hole of a giant
tree that's also, like, in rocks.

[Cheeny] And now,
they go in pretty deep.

Talk about it.

[Dan] We'll bring
some people back.

There's only one person out here

that's crazy enough to jump into a
hive of bees and that knows bees well.

And that's Gary.

[Gary] See any fruit
trees or anything up there?

[Steven] No.

[Sarah] Nothing the
monkeys haven't picked clean.

[Steven] Yeah right?

I'm doing one of my
Gary golden walkabouts

where I don't know
what I'll find to eat.

It could be anything.

Oh.

[Sarah] Gary, you find
anything good over there?

[Gary] Nothing ripe.

Just green plums.

Yeah, it didn't seem
like there was much.

[Gary] Let me see. Hold on.

Well, all those little plums are
out on the end of the branches.

I'm gonna climb
this tree, Sarah.

[Sarah] All righty, then.

Gary is crazy.

[Gary] They're
obviously, like, very green.

But I learned a long time
ago doing these challenges,

you see something, you wait for
it to ripen, you leave it on the vine,

something's coming to take it.

Everything's
waiting for it to ripen.

The monkeys, the
birds, the rodents.

I did that with figs
one time in Africa.

I let 'em ripen and then, the monkeys
came one day and cleaned it out.

So good.

Wow, they're
really ripe up here.

[grunts]

I'm a little bit
of an orangutan.

[sighs]

But they're out there on
some, like, skinny branches.

[grunts]

Being that high up,
like, I'm risking my life.

[grunts]

It's rocks down below.

Oh, [bleep].

I could die.

[burps]

[Cheeny] [bleep],
Gary's up in the tree.

I'm just looking up
and it's so high up there.

I don't really think
it's worth the risk.

But, Gary's a [bleep] wild man.

[Dan] Jesus.

[Gary] There's a lot out here.

- I'm just going for it.
- Don't, Gary. It's gonna break.

- [branch cracks]
- [Gary] Oh, [bleep]. Too low.

It's dangerous.

[Cheeny] Never a dull
day with Gary around.

[Dan] I got a saw.

You cut that whole limb off.

[Gary] Yeah, here,
hand that baby to me

- and I'll get 'em down, dude.
- [Dan grunts]

Getting this saw is a lifesaver.

I love this thing.

- [Gary] Oh, dude, we're gonna eat... Yeah.
- [Dan] Got it? Yeah.

Luckily, Cheeny and
I have a lot of items.

- We're gonna work together, share.
- [Gary grunts]

- Watch out, Cheeny.
- [Cheeny] I'm moving.

[Dan] Everyone'll split them. Anyone
can have 'em except that person.

[Gary laughing]

[Dan] Seriously, he
can climb up himself.

I'm not sharing [bleep].

[Dan] Well, there's,
like, 10 more up here.

But, that's a good
haul right now.

[Gary] Oh, [bleep], yeah.

[Cheeny] Holy,
[bleep]. They're sour.

[Dan] I like it.

If you eat too many of these,
they're probably a little acidic.

- [Cheeny] Yeah. Tummy ache.
- [Dan] Yeah.

It might ripen off the thing.

Well, all right.

- Oh, Gary.
- [Gary] Yes, Sir.

We found a honey bee hive.

Oh, [bleep]. Really?

[Dan] I would attempt it,

but it's, like, deep
inside a tree though.

So I don't think
it's even attainable.

Not to a normal person.

[laughs]

[Dan] He is just crazy as hell.

He'll get right in there.

And he knows bees.
He's a bee keeper.

Like, perfect.

It's a steady stream
of bees going in there.

Seemed pretty big.

- May be, let's go for a walk, tomorrow or so.
- [Dan] Yeah.

I'll take you up there.

[Gary] The reward is a potential

for a large cache...

of honey.

[Waz] What's
happening, Ms. Cheeny?

[Cheeny] Hey, what's up, boys?

[Matt] What's up, hon?

Oh, nothing. They just
caught a bunch of plums.

[Matt] Wow. I would
say, you're plum full.

[Cheeny] I'd say so. Ha! ha!

[Steven] Mmm.

Oh, not bad.

[Cheeny] No.

[Dan speaking]

For everybody, but... [laughs]

Yeah.

I'm keeping my own
opinion a little bit here,

when it comes to Jeff.

You know, who knows
what day 21 will deliver.

You don't know who's
gonna end up with who.

[Matt] Plumtastic.

[Gary] I think people
might be rushing

a little bit to judgement.

When Matt told Jeff,

how they're not sharing
with him anymore, see.

Now they're showing their
hand, ahead of the game.

And, I wouldn't have done that.

Hey.

- What's up, buddy?
- What's up, buddy?

[Gary] You want a
couple of green plums?

[Jeff] Green plums? Yeah?

[Gary] Just so to show
I'm not poisoning you.

[Jeff] Oh, yeah?
I appreciate that.

[Gary] They're not ripe, but.

A lot of flavor though. Wow.

[Gary] Like a tart candy.

Yeah. I like 'em.

Awesome. Where'd
you pick up these?

[Gary] Down by the little creek.

Oh, there are a whole
bunch of them, down there?

- Like a tree or...
- Yeah.

No kidding. Thank you, bud.

- Yeah. You're welcome.
- Wow.

[Gary] I see people operating
more on, sort of, emotion,

above, uh, calculation.

What do they say?

About your enemy.

Keep your friends close,
and your enemies closer.

- There you go.
- Thank you, my friend.

- You're welcome.
- I appreciate that very much.

[Gary] Yeah. I don't think
you're a piece of [bleep].

- [Jeff] Thank you.
- You're welcome.

This is a game of chess, where,

you don't even know the
rules of the next phase.

- [Jeff] Thanks again, my friend.
- You're welcome.

It's almost like, the smartest
thing you can do is, be likeable.

[Waz speaking]

- [Matt] Yeah.
- [Waz speaking]

[Matt] Yeah.

[Matt] Yeah, I agree with that.

[Waz speaking]

[Matt] Yep. 100%.

[Dan] I'm so hungry.

Cheeny and I,

we have low body fat.

Our sugar's are going
down, guaranteed.

Good morning.

Gary.

[Gary] So, uh, if I
wanna find that bee tree,

what do I look for?
Or you wanna go, or...

- [Dan] Okay.
- [Cheeny] I'm not walking with you.

I will skip that
[bleep]. No, thank you.

I'm getting too
skinny and too weak.

I just don't have any energy
right now. I just... I'm just tired.

Gary wants to go poke
the bees I can't watch.

-You go have your fun.
[chuckles softly] -[Dan] I will.

The bees are pretty close.

[Gary] Killer.

Dan came to me
to go after the honey

because, it's very understood,

that in the world of survival,
and Naked And Afraid,

Gary is...

the bee whisperer.

[Max] How big is it in there?

Is there a lot?

[Gary] This is a
lot, my brother.

Oh, my Go... [laughs]

Legend Gary!

I love you, bees.

[Dan] They are in this tree,
that's hanging at an angle.

You can see where
the bees are going in.

[Gary] Oh.

[Dan] Yep, that's it.

What do you think?

[Gary] Yeah, there is most likely
honey here. These are honey bees.

The risk versus reward
in going after honey is,

if the bees are
highly aggressive,

they'll chase you down
for up to a quarter mile,

mob you, and try to kill you.

Some people could die.

I thought about, if
I cut this part off...

I'm gonna see how soft that is.

[Dan] I'm gonna stand back.

This honey could potentially
help me be the last one standing.

So, let's go for it.

It looks like they're sending
out guard bees right now,

to check out what
that vibration was.

[Dan] Gary's just crazy.

He slams the axe into
the wood, next to the hive.

Something I would never do.

[Gary] Oh, there they go.

They're getting stirred up.

[Dan] You're gonna
keep chopping?

- [Gary] Yeah.
- All right.

I'm walking into this sunny area
back here and sit with some grass.

If you get stung too much, you
can go into anaphylactic shock.

Gary's going through
it then power to him.

I'll help him from
a safe distance.

[bees buzzing]

[Gary grunts]

[grunts] Oh, crap.

[sighs]

Ah.

[sighs and grunts]

[bleep]

[grunts] Oh, crap.

[sighs]

[Dan] [bleep]. Smoke 'em out.

[Gary] Uh, yeah.
No, I got it now, yeah.

I'd say, uh...

- smoke 'em out.
- [laughs]

Gary's Gary.

He's crazy and I'll
tell that to his face.

[Gary] Got stung on
the face, couple of times.

I'm alive.

Ah.

Oh, yes. I'm alive.

I can take a lot of stings.

I'm the honey badger.

Nothing stops me there.

[imitates growling]

All right. Ready?

[Dan] Ready. As I'll ever be.

- [Gary] All right.
- There.

[Gary] Yeah, Dan.

Yes.

You got it, Dan boy.

So the reason you
smoke out the bees

is because if they'll focus on
fire and not the creatures around,

and they'll start
drinking up all the honey,

so they can take it with
them, somewhere else.

They get docile,

and then you could
actually go after the honey

a lot easier without
the bees stinging you.

It doesn't hurt the bees.

There'll be less stinging.

[Dan] They hit me a couple of
times in the head. Could feel it.

[Gary] Yeah, they do that,

to try to out warn you,
and not use their stinger.

[Steven] What is this?

[Waz] It's smoke?

[Sarah] It is smoke.

[Gary] We just smokin'
some bees, buddy.

[Sarah] What the [bleep]?

[Waz] Is that you, Gary?

You smoking bees out?

[Gary] Me and Dan getting down.

[Steven] Gary's a bee master.

[Sarah] What on earth
is happening out here?

[Waz] How's it going?

[Dan] I'm letting
Gary live in the hive.

Gary, you got like,
thousand on your head.

- [Sarah] Oh, my God.
- All over you.

- [Gary] Got bees all around me, baby.
- Jeez.

Got bees all around me.

I'm in my happy place.

I'm the bee man.

[Dan] You're always a
bee man. You're crazy, bro.

[Waz speaking]

[Gary] Oh, no.
They're done and like,

they're totally not...

They'll flip their land
on you. They're done.

What they do, is they fatten up,

and then they get sluggish.

And then they can't fold their
abdomen to sting anymore,

'cause they're so fat.

Butt naked bee keeper.

[laughs]

- [Sarah] Oh, my God.
- Dude...

Look at us. We want the honey.

Show me the honey!

- There's some bee hive action.
- Whoo.

There's honey comb.

There it is!

[Gary] Looks like
me and you, Dan.

Yeah!

Oh, my God.

- [Steven] Way to go guys.
- Whoo!

- Oh, my God. That's so fresh.
- [Gary] That was sick.

[laughing]

[Waz speaking]

-[Dan indistinctly] -So
amazing and romantic it is.

We're dating now, Waz.

[Gary laughs]

It's a bromance. Let's
just call it a bromance.

Dan thought he was
just gonna watch.

I did. I was gonna watch
from a safe distance.

[Gary] Digging in.

[Dan] All the fear
is absolutely gone.

And I am just so
excited about the food,

that is inside this tree.

Axe just [bleep] broke.

[Gary] It doesn't matter.
I want the $100,000.

Oh, my God. I'm just
kneeling in a pile of bees.

[bleep] crazy.

I am covered in bees.

Literally there are thousands
of bees swarming us.

I have hundreds all
over my naked body.

All over my nether regions.

Oh, my God. Look at how
many there are on my junk.

Oh, my Lord.

This is me watching
from a safe angle.

This is wild. It's amazing how
quick you get used to things out here.

Everybody's getting
a pot of honey.

- [Steven] I appreciate it.
- [Gary] All of us.

Look at that, babies.

- [Sarah] Whoo!
- Oh, yeah.

Yeah!

- Oh, my...
- [Gary] Sarah.

Steven.

[giggles]

[Gary] Waz.

[Steven] Oh...

- [Steven] My...
- [Gary] Here you go, Daniel.

[Steven] God.

[Waz] Oh, baby.

[Sarah] Oh, my God.

I just feel the energy
from that already.

Instantly. All the
way through my body.

- Oh, my God.
- Head to my toes.

- As soon as I...
- It's like electric.

- Yeah.
- [Waz] I knew what was coming there,

- before I tasted it.
- Yeah.

- [Waz] But I had no idea what was coming.
- Yeah.

You guys, it's incredible.

It's electrifying.

[Sarah] Like, liquid
lightning in my mouth.

Which is exactly what I need,

if I'm gonna be the
last one standing.

Yeah, boy.

Look at that. Dan, Dan...

- Look. Look at that.
- [Sarah] Oh, my gosh.

Oh, my God.

[Steven] Another coolest
thing I've ever seen.

What the hell?

[Steven] The amount
of power we can get

from just a little bit of honey

is insane.

[all exclaiming]

[Steven] So to see Gary
stick his hand in and pull out

these giant honey combs...

Look at that.

[Steven] Just comb,

after comb, after comb...

[Gary] This is bee's bread.

This is what they mix
with nectar and pollen

to make a bread
to feed the babies.

One of the richest sources
of vitamins in the world.

[Steven] We're
bringing back literally

hundreds of thousands
of calories of sugar.

Sugar builds fats.

And we need fats.

- I kind of need more honey.
- No.

[Steven] Or we'll get sick.

What a survival luxury.

When you can't
eat anymore honey.

[all laughing]

- [Sarah] Oh, my gosh.
- [Steven] Way to go, man.

[Jeff] All I can hear right now,

is all this laughter

and hooting and hollering.

I think that they are talking
and shouting loud on purpose.

So I can hear them.

[grunting]

Yes!

Oh, my gosh!

Who is got the
best partner ever?

Life is so good.

- Life is so good.
- [Jeff] Life is so good.

[cheering loudly]

- [Dan] Oh, God.
- [Gary laughs]

- [Sarah] Oh, my gosh.
- [Gary] Boys.

[Jeff] Yes.

[woman 1 speaking]

[woman 2 speaking]

I hate this.

[imitates cheering]

[man speaking]

[Gary] Whoo, baby.

[Steven] This weighs,
like, almost, like, 25 pounds.

[Sarah] Yo, this might
be, like, straight up,

the most calorie rich score
in Naked And Afraid history.

[Gary] Besides the
big game animal.

[Sarah] I mean, even
a big game animal.

- [Gary] No? Maybe not.
- Yeah.

[Gary] I mean, it's all sugar.

[Waz] Hard all over me.

Poor Jeff.

[Steven] Poor Jeff?

- How do you even think about him?
- I did.

[all laughing]

[Jeff] I never used
to believe in karma.

But...

It does come up
and it does bite you.

And you know what?

I'm just gonna
take the bullying.

I'm just gonna let 'em...
Let 'em give it to me.

Because, at the end of the day,

it's gonna be that much sweeter,

when I am the last one standing.

[Matt] Area is sort of like,
an endless, thick brush.

There's no, like, good
feeding grounds for game.

[Matt] This place is a lot harder
to hunt than the last location.

Plus, with my injured hand,

it's taken from me,

something I've
grown very good at.

I'm good with a bow.

But, can I win without it?

That'll be it to be determined.

It almost get me chocked
up, thinking about it.

How much it means
to me to thrive.

It, uh...

It's being sort of
robbed from me.

There is some small frogs.

But I haven't been
having much success.

I must have to adapt.

And, continue to find
my own ways, too.

To problem solve solutions.

Gonna have to improvise.

Go back to little bit of
my childhood roots here.

I'm gonna attempt to do a
little fishing for these frogs.

As a kid, what I would do,

is take a little fishing
line and a hook,

and some frogs,
they're ready to eat a fly.

They'll actually eat at the
hook, 'cause it looks appetizing.

All I have to do at this point,

is get this hook to
be pretty close to 'em.

And bam.

Improvise overcome, right?

Did that happen
on the first try?

Yeah.

Sure did.

Now I need a skewer stick.

No. Get on the stick.

Get on the stick.

Keeps a little hop
out of him that way.

All right. Next.

Oh, ho, ho.

Sorry.

Top of the food chain, buddy.

Nice with this
method is, I'm using.

Almost no calories.

Bingo. All right.

Keep it coming.
Fishing for frogs.

I would opt there is
not a survivalist out here

right now that spent as
little of calories as I've spent,

to get these frogs.

Big guy.

Slimy little frogs.

You do.

So at this point,

got 14 frogs and a crab.

And, I'm gonna keep walking
down, keep collectin' 'em.

What I am going to be,
somewhat cautious about is,

am I gonna let
some of the others

know my method of
catching these frogs?

What I think I'm gonna
do is, I'm just gonna...

just gonna opt for the
old, caught 'em by hand.

I did catch them with my hands.

And, when they see
that there's this many,

it's gonna make
them start thinking.

Leaving 'em at 21.

I've got enough to share,
but just about fished this, uh...

this little pond out for any
one of them that wants to play.

So, I'm gonna keep working
my way down these puddles.

And, soon as this
stick's full of 'em,

we're leaving.

Um... slimy.

[Cheeny] My tank is on empty.

The amount of
food that I've eaten,

it's normally what I would eat in
about a day and a half, in my real life.

Which is wild.

Waiting for Dan to get back,

so I can kind of tell him,
'cause I'm concerned.

I feel like I'm
about to pass out.

I feel like I'm
about to pass out.

[sighs]

[exhales heavily]

[Gary] Okay, we did it.

[Dan] This is like, 36,000
calories. What do you think?

We're totally getting
back at Jeff with this.

[Gary] No. Let's not do that.

[Dan] No, I'm not saying
we're gonna rub it in his face.

- It's not what I mean.
- No, no, no.

No, I don't even...

Let's not... I don't
wanna do that to him.

- I wanna hide it.
- Okay,

[Gary] I wouldn't rub it in.

Then you get an enemy, and
you get someone vindictive.

So, hey, we're gonna
stop at our camp,

and we're gonna
empty that pot of water,

and dump all the honey in there.

[Dan] I'm gonna go show Cheeny
this before we put it in the pot.

[Gary] Okay.
That's cool. I get it.

[Waz] I'll come with you, Dan.

[Gary] So we just wanna get the
honey in there as soon as we can.

I don't wanna lose any
drops and it's heavy.

[Dan] Yeah, got
it. I'll be back.

I mean, there's a lot in
there. You're cupping...

There's a lot in the
bottom of that bag.

So we gotta talk
about, like, dividing it up.

[Sarah] Yeah.

Yeah, it's gonna be [bleep].

[Gary] I know, right.

[Waz] What's Cheeny
doing here you reckon?

She doesn't know what's
been walking on the world.

[Dan] Hey, Cheeny.

Hey, Cheeny.

Cheeny.

[grass rustling]

I've never had that
happened before.

That was scary.

I really like, passed out hard.

I know my mind
can go 45 days, but...

I hate to have something
happen to where,

I get really messed up.

If my body can't handle it,

I'm in big trouble.

- [Dan] Hey, Cheeny.
- [Cheeny] Yeah.

[Dan] I'm home.

- What's that?
- Hey, I got good news.

Oh, my God. What?

[Dan] This isn't
even half of it.

- [Waz]This isn't half of what we got.
- [Dan laughing]

Look at this.

Get in there. Just like...

Put your mouth right there.

[Dan laughing]

Love you so much.

You have no idea
how important this is.

I mean, you wanna
talk about a 180 day,

I went from literally the bottom

to the best day of my life.

[Gary] Cheeny, what
do you think, girl?

[Cheeny] I can't believe it. Thank God,
I feel as though I'm coming back to life.

[Dan] Just eat whatever
you want, Cheeny,

[Cheeny] I will.

May be somebody somewhere
wants me to win $100,000.

Because that was literally like,

that was a miracle.

[Matt] Yo.

What's happening?

Oh, we got a visitor.

Hello.

- Mr. Matt.
- [Cheeny] Matt is here.

Don't say nothing.

In a second we're gonna
show him something on the map.

We wanna know what you
think about this, 'cause...

Wait. What? What the hell, dude?

Are those a bunch of frogs?

[Matt] 45 of 'em.

45 days out here, I'm
getting 45 frogs a day.

- Dude, you're a show off.
- What the [bleep]?

[Gary] Come here. I
wanna show you something.

On this map.

What do you have under the map?

- [Matt laughs]
- Under the map.

Voila.

Ohhh.

Are you kidding me?

- [Dan] Gary and I got in it.
- [Gary] Have some honey, brother.

[Dan] I found 'em yesterday and I was
like, I know one guy that knows bees.

[Waz] Yes.

I seen that look about
six other times today.

Sarah cried.

That's all just pure
honey. This entire pot.

[Matt] That's game
changer for this location.

Dude, Matt...

how'd you get 45 frogs?

[Gary] You almost came back
with those frogs, size of a warthog.

It is pretty heavy. Look
at how heavy. Hold it.

- Oh, that is heavy.
- It actually gets some gusto.

If you guys wanna
have some frog soup,

I'm just gonna skin
'em, boil 'em up.

You guys are welcome
to have some, if you want.

I would love some.

[Matt] Everyday is a
strategy. It's a chess game.

So, think I'd rather
give them frogs.

I don't wanna let everybody
know all my secrets.

When it comes down
to the very end of this,

this kind of a competition,

just 'cause I wanna
still have 'em,

you know, healthy
and supportive,

doesn't mean I have to give 'em
every one of my little tips and tricks.

To be the best, you
gotta beat the best.

[Jeff] I can hear 'em out
there talking about me.

And they're partying
and having a good time.

And you what? That's fine.

I encourage them to do that.

Love, good feelings, and hugs

aren't gonna win you $100,000.

Look at that.

Someone clearly
cut all these down.

And lead them here on the rock.

But...

they didn't...

take all the plums.

And these ones are ripe.

[whisper] This is awesome.

There's quite a
few plums on here,

which makes me think...

Whoever chopped these down,

didn't necessarily
want to pick them off.

And, if they were

saving them for later,

or something like that, well...

I guess they should've
come talked to me first.

'Cause I haven't
heard anything about it.

Gary tried to give me
some, but they were green.

They probably wouldn't be
too good for your stomach,

if you eat too many.

But these ones are nice and red.

I've got plums for days.

[Sarah exclaims]

[whispers] Oh, my God.

- Hmm.
- Yeah. Looking at the woods, sucks, huh?

[Sarah] Ah, yeah.

[exclaims]

- Whoa.
- Yep.

All good.

I still cannot believe
all that frickin' honey.

That is...

- It's crazy?
- That is crazy.

- Like, super cool.
- It's like, game changer.

Which just goes to show,

when you have all
these different experts

and then come together
with our knowledge,

and our resources,

- we end up with full bellies.
- Yeah.

- You know?
- Yeah.

Does beg the question,
where the hell is Jeff?

- Has anybody seen him today?
- No.

- Okay.
- Doing his Jeff thing.

All right. Well, not my
monkey, not my circus.

[Steven] Me and Jeff,
we were the vibe boys.

I mean, we spent 24 hours a day

in the swamps in Louisiana.

But, past few days,

I haven't heard his screams.

I haven't heard his yelling.

He wants to isolate
himself, then...

I know he hasn't eaten good,

because if we didn't
get that honey score,

we'd be in the same boat.

And, he didn't have a
single drop of that honey.

But, you know,

you make your
bed, you sleep in it.

He has...

every opportunity, to just...

come out and say his piece.

- I'm not his baby-sitter, you know.
- [Sarah laughs]

- Hey, what's up?
- [Jeff] What's up, buddy?

- [Jeff] What are you doing here?
- Good to see you, man.

[Gary] Well, I just
wanted to say hi.

- [Jeff] Dude, thank you.
- I hadn't talked to you in a couple of days or so.

[Jeff] Thank you, buddy.

Yeah. I love the visits.

When it comes to Jeff, I'm just, personally,
playing my cards close to my chest

and treating Jeff nice.

Thank you for giving me the
tip about the, um, the plums.

- Oh, yeah.
- I appreciate that.

- Did you get some?
- I loved them.

- Yeah, they're good.
- Yeah, I really enjoyed them.

- Some of them ripened up.
- Uh-huh, yeah.

- Yeah.
- Yeah, I really enjoy this, so, thank you.

- That was a...
- [Gary] You're welcome.

- That was a nice little set up.
- This is, this is cool, dude,

you got the killer
shingle system.

- [Jeff] It's, uh, I know it's great.
- [Gary laughing]

I, I don't feel a
single raindrop.

- [Gary laughing] I'm like...
- [Jeff laughing]

[Jeff] It, uh, I've, I've
enjoyed it, I mean, it, uh...

Well, at night, there's one thing, you
could give a [bleep] if you hear thunder.

- [Jeff] Yeah, right.
- We, we, we care.

- [Jeff laughs]
- Yeah.

Dude, I'm excited to see
what's coming down the pike.

[Gary] I don't... Well, yeah.

We're not gonna be
with our current partner,

- I don't think.
- No, not with our current partner.

But what if, like, uh, first
one to the next location

is, like, gets to
pick their partner.

It's gonna be interesting.

You're at the top of my list...

- Oh, dude, yeah.
- ...so, if I get that choice,

- I'd love to be partners with you.
- I mean, if we end up

being partners, I know we'd have
fun... do it, you know what I mean?

[Jeff] I think he's
starting to realize

that I am in a pretty
strong position here

and I think Gary wants
to, possibly, start forming

some type of
partnership with me.

- Well, all right.
- Well bud.

- Well enjoy your night, thanks for stopping by.
- Okay.

- Yeah, have a good night, Jeff.
- See you, then.

But he didn't mention
any of the honey,

uh, that everyone got yesterday.

So, while he's being
"buddy-buddy" with me,

I'm not trusting him.

[Dan speaking]

[Cheeny speaking]

[Dan speaking]

[Dan laughing]

[Cheeny] I know, I'm thinking, like,
"Should we go back and double-check?"

[Dan] These challenges are all about
peak and troughs, peak and troughs,

you have the lowest
lows and the highest highs.

You just get these food
anxieties when on this challenge

and they need to eat everything.

[Dan] There's still more honey.

- [Cheeny] I know.
- [Dan] Over there.

[Dan] Gary had most
of it. [clicks tongue]

[Cheeny speaking]

[Dan speaking]

[Cheeny speaking]

[Dan speaking]

[Sarah] Lot of animal
dropping is on the rocks.

Have, like, fruit seeds in them.

[Steven] So, monkey [bleep].

[Sarah] Yep, [sighs] God, I was
really hoping to find something.

[Steven] We polished
off a lot of that honey

but, you know, we're
gonna need protein

and, um, protein is
so few and far between

that, um, we're going to higher
elevations, we're checking new river beds,

we're checking, um,
some, some waterfalls

and, um, you know, hopefully, where there's
waterfalls, there's some sort of protein

there might be fish, there might
be frogs, uh, there might be crabs,

um, there's no telling.

[Sarah] God, I thought that
gnarled vine right there was a...

cobra, for a split second.

- [Steven] Freaking wish.
- [Sarah] I know.

You know it's Naked and Afraid
when you're wishing for cobras.

[Sarah] Ugh.

Busy day, we've put a lot of
miles in, we've put a lot of work in,

we only have two days
until migration, which is crazy.

Um, I'm excited about it.

This location was tough, um,
this location was really tough.

[Sarah] Couple
more little pools.

[Steven] Hmm.

[Sarah] We're probably
getting closer to that waterfall.

Sure does feel like the water
just dries up here, though.

[Steven] Yeah, for sure.

At least we're only
here for a few more days.

After 21 days, we know
that things are gonna change,

we never know what lies ahead.

In this situation, you know,
there's money involved

and there is a possibility that people
are going to become more ruthless.

Until that time comes, I guess,
we're just gonna have to wait and see.

- [Steven] It's definitely where the waterfall was.
- [Sarah] "Was."

[Steven] Well, you
know what they say,

don't go chasing waterfalls.

- [Sarah] Oh, Jesus Christ.
- [Steven laughs]

[Sarah groans]

- [Waz] Hey, everybody.
- [Dan] What's up, bud?

[Waz] How did you enjoy
your feast last night, Cheeny?

- [Cheeny] So good.
- [Waz] Good.

- [Cheeny] It was like melt-in-your-mouth good.
- Yeah.

[Dan] Those were
good, we enjoyed it.

- [Waz] What are you guys doing today?
- [Dan] Oh, it's just, [grunts]

kinda, you know, uh,
chilling 'cause it's a cool day.

- [Waz] You good?
- [Cheeny] Yeah.

[Gary] Dude we did,
we did good yesterday.

[Dan] Has anybody else
been eating the brood comb?

- We had a little...
- That's right.

...a couple bites of
the patties this morning.

[narrator] Locked away
within honeycomb cells,

bee brood is a nutrition-dense food source,
consisting of eggs, larvae and pupae

that are loaded with protein,
fats and essential nutrients.

We'll take us all a slab
of the brood comb cause...

[Cheeny] It's so good.

- [Dan] It funny for everyone.
- [Cheeny] I was throwing up this morning...

When... you never get a
chance to eat brood comb.

- [Dan] Hmm.
- [Cheeny] Like, once in a lifetime experience.

[Dan speaking] Yes...

[Dan] Oh, this should be brood.

Oh, yeah.

Sometimes Dan gets a bit sticky
fingers when there's food involved.

Dan puts his portions to the side, and
then comes and eats other people's...

[Waz] It's gameplay
and it's strategic

and the sooner people realize
that people are actually playing

then the better they'll do
for themselves, I'm sure.

[Gary speaking]

It's going pretty good.

[Dan speaking]

[Gary laughing] Oh, my gosh.

[Dan speaking]

[Gary speaking]

- [Cheeny] Okay.
- [Dan] Take back some of this brood comb

and a fistful of honey...

[Dan] We're gonna go explore
a little big, go fishing I think.

[Gary] Okay, good luck.

- [Waz] All right, good luck.
- Thanks.

[Waz] The morning of, uh, day
20, tomorrow's migration day.

Um, tonight's just
gonna be about prepping.

We, we've got lots of water, we've
been eating honey for the last few days,

the, the honey's almost
about to run out, right now.

[Gary speaking]

[Waz] Yeah, I'd,
I, I wanted to, uh...

I wanted there to be lots of
honey left for everyone today

and then, you know, people
like Dan came in and...

Yeah, he, uh, he had a
truck-load of honey yesterday.

[Gary] Things are
getting real out here.

Dan made sure to
take the fattest larva

and the most beautiful honey.

It's like taking the prime cut.

And if I were to be honest, I
should've got the prime cut.

[Waz] Like, I wanted there to
be lots of honey left for today,

- so, I purposely didn't eat lots yesterday.
- [Gary] Yeah, yeah.

And, now, there's
none left for today.

So, I didn't get my fill yesterday
and I'm not gonna get any today.

[Waz] I don't like
confrontation in relation

to what's fair
and what's not fair

but it's getting to
the point, you know,

I gotta start looking after myself a little
bit more and, sort of, demand my cut.

Uh, this is a friendly
game of action chess.

I'm friends with everyone here but, um,
you know, it's a $100,000 on the table.

At one point,

they're gonna realize there's a
monster standing in front of them

that wants that money.

Hopefully, this new location
brings a different energy...

- [Waz] Well, I don't imagine it gets better...
- [Gary] I mean...

[Waz] ...as we go on, Gary.

- [Gary chuckles nervously]
- [Waz] You know what I mean?

- [Gary] Yeah.
- People become more desperate, people become more hungry,

people become more
concerned about their partners.

- Yeah.
- People become a little bit selfish.

Yeah.

[Waz] I don't see it going
in the other direction.

Definitely.

[Matt] Morning of day 20

and need to prep myself
for, for what might be ahead.

So far, we've yet to have
an elimination challenge.

And, it, these migration days,
you know, you can be eliminated.

So, if there is an
elimination tomorrow,

well, you've gotta get
past it, you gotta hurdle it

and then you gotta, maybe, start a
whole another 21 days in your mind.

I just need to try to keep
myself ahead of the game.

So, I'm trying to figure out

what survival task
would be required.

I feel like we're heading
into some hunting ground

so, it could be something
like a spring snare.

This is just gonna
hook into this, like so.

You'll, drive into the ground.

This section will
be actually tied...

to a string and then
tied around the tree.

Toggle then comes down,

locks into there, like so,

animal comes by, gets in here,

once he gets kinda snared, he
goes and he triggers it and then...

Then you got meat on a string.

[Cheeny] So, our poor axe broke.

I think it broke when, uh, Dan and
Gary were hacking away at that...

bee hive.

Which is a bummer.

Well, obviously, happy to have
the honey but it's sad to lose an axe.

I mean it's such an
awesome tool out here,

[sighs] it's just that they are
a pain in the ass to rehang,

'cause you don't wanna
ruin the temper of the metal.

So, what you can do...

You bury the axe in the dirt,

like so,

and the idea is to burn the
wood inside of the axe handle.

If I was back home, I would
do this much differently,

I'd have a drill and
all that stuff but...

don't have that out here.

Twenty-one tomorrow,
there's twenty-four more,

I'm just barely half-way.

I told myself I'll
be back in 45 days,

I'm usually one to keep my word.

- [Dan] What is that?
- [Cheeny] That's an axe head.

Buried that in the sand
to kind of save the blade.

- [Dan] Perfect.
- [Cheeny] Gonna push that out.

And perfect.

- [Cheeny] All...
- [Dan] Perfect.

[Cheeny] Dug out, let that cool.

Rehang it tomorrow.

- When it cools down.
- [Dan] Perfect.

- Hmm, love it.
- [both chuckle]

- [Cheeny] Problem solved.
- [Dan] Problem solved.

[Jeff] It's the
morning of Day 20

and today is all about
preparation for migration day.

I have no idea what to
expect on day 21, or thereafter.

I'm a little nervous.

So, I'm continuing
on my same strategy

of working as hard as I can
every single day I'm out here

to acquire the most I
can from the environment.

[whispers] There's
a crab right there.

But it's too far back.

Come here.

Buddy.

Come here.

Come now, buddy.

Come on, buddy, come
out to play, come on.

[whispers] Come on.

Gotcha.

[breathing heavily] Finally.

[in normal voice] Holy
crap, persistence pays off.

Day 20, crab, baby.

Yes.

The map said that
during the first 21 days,

me and my partner
would be linked,

our fates would
be tied together.

It didn't say
anything after day 21.

So, I don't know what to expect.

Uh, my hopes are that I
get to continue being alone.

I'm doing very well alone.

And because I don't have very many friends
out here, um, the worst possible case

would probably be to put, be put
in a group setting with everyone.

Uh, God, that would be awkward.

[Gary] I'm glad I hit the
StairMaster hard before I came here.

[Gary chuckles] [bleep]

[Waz] This is a huge
calory burner, this walk up.

[Steven] Yep.

[Waz] So, that honey couldn't
have come at a better time.

[Steven] Mmm-hmm.

[Jeff] What's up, fellas?

- [Steven] What's up, buddy?
- How are you guys doing?

- Whoo, just hiking up this damn hill.
- Just kinda...

- [laughing] Good to see you, Steven.
- [Steven] What's up, buddy?

- How you doing buddy?
- [Waz] What's up, man?

- Waz, how are you, man?
- [Waz grunting] Great.

[bleep]

[Jeff] I'm dealing with a bunch
of mean girls, uh, which is crazy.

And the fact that Steven
has never come to see me

a single time
during this challenge

and he's going along with this
entire other group and their "narrative,"

when Steven knows me,

he knows the real me.

- [Jeff] There he is, dude.
- [Steven] I see him.

[Jeff] You see him?

I got you, Steven.

[Jeff] I got you. [grunts]

- [Steven grunting] Yes!
- [Jeff] Ugh.

[Steven] There it is!

- [Steven] Yes!
- [Jeff] Thank God, we did it bro.

[Jeff grunts]

[Jeff] He's turned
his back on me.

It breaks my heart.

It hurts.

We got three crabs that
I caught this morning.

And then we've got a bunch
of plums here that are ripe,

those are gonna taste
like cherry cobbler

and then I've got
my leprechaun stem.

So, I've got the protein,
fruit and the vegetable.

My mind is focused on
the end of this challenge.

It is focused on one thing, and
one thing only, and that's winning

and being the last one standing.

[spits]

[Sarah] Was that
Jeff up there earlier?

- [Steven] Yeah.
- [Sarah] Mmm, what's he up to?

[Steven] I don't know.

Then he walked up and
was just pretending like...

[Sarah] Buddy-buddy?

- [Steven] Yeah, with everybody.
- [Sarah] Mmm-hmm.

[Steven] I'm so confused, I don't
know how to act, didn't like that.

I don't like when I
don't know how to act.

[Sarah chuckles]

[Steven] Unless, he
was just, like, nervous.

Hey... You know?

[Steven] Me and Jeff,
we were the Bayou Boyz,

I mean, we spent 24 hours a
day in the swamps in Louisiana

and, uh, you build a
bond when you do that.

Yeah!

- Yeah!
- Argh.

- Well, give me a hug, man.
- You're the best partner, dude.

- That's [bleep] awesome.
- You're the best partner.

[both] Bayou Boyz.

- [both laughing]
- Love it.

[Steven] I know him
better than anybody

and all that empathy

and those positive
character traits of that person

are gone.

And that's tough because...

I feel like I lost a friend,

that doesn't even care.

- It just makes my heart sad.
- [Sarah] Yeah.

[Matt] You know, it's the,
uh, little calm before the storm

- of, of whatever tomorrow brings.
- [Steven] mmm-hmm.

Lot of burnt calories and...

[Matt] Yeah, so, what
do, what do we expect?

You're gonna get a meat
stash tomorrow or not?

[Matt clicks
tongue] I don't know.

There's just, there's no way of telling
what's, what's ahead there on that.

If there is a meat cache, everybody
should go for the meat cache.

That way pretty much
solidifies at least...

- [Matt] Yeah.
- ...the communal group gets it.

Yeah, yep.

If Jeff gets it, he's not
gonna share jack [bleep],

- so, you know.
- [Matt] Yeah.

[Sarah] On migration days,
when somebody finds a big cache,

we have a tendency to share.

But Jeff has proven in the past
that he's not that kind of person,

so, we're not extending that
same courtesy back to him.

You can't feel bad when you're just
like, "Hey sorry, not giving it to you."

you've established
how you wanna do this.

[Matt] On migration days,

Jeff had tried to go out
and take every single cache.

He's done it before, he was
trying to do it again at this location,

but it didn't work.

You know, this situation out here,
right now, it involves a certain strategy

and a certain way that you have
to, sort of, deal with situations.

[Jeff] It's the
morning of day 21.

I'm ready for the next 25 days.

I'm ready for this migration.

Bring it on.

The item in this challenge
with the largest return

are these hides.

They've acted as a
protective roof for rainfall,

they've blocked the wind,
they've provided me shoes,

but it still has many more uses.

Guess, I'm gonna
take a strip of hide

about a quarter to
a half an inch thick,

and I'm gonna cut this all
the way around the hide.

And it's gonna be one
long piece of cordage.

I don't think anyone is going into
this migration as prepared as I am.

[Matt] It's uh, migration day,

I'm lying in bed,

this guy is circling around.

When you're out here
sleeping on the ground,

scorpion stings are regular

for a survivalist.

It's like finding a chicken
nugget walking down the tree.

Pretty sweet.

I think I'm gonna cook up
this scorpion for breakfast.

Just a tiny bit of fuel.

But, out here,

every little bit can determine
who is that last person standing

and if you try to lurk in my camp,
you're gonna become breakfast.

That's a fact.

- [Dan] Morning! [laughs]
- [Cheeny] Morning. [chuckles]

- [Cheeny] Day 21!
- [Dan] Migration day.

We've gathered our resources,
we slept well, we're feeling good.

We have no idea what's going to
happen, anything could happen today.

Today is probably my last
day with Cheeny as my partner,

which is bumming me out.

Cheeny and I have been, I think, the,
the closest duo out here the entire time.

[Sarah] Got migration today.

This has been fantastic.

Um, but I think both of us are
looking forward to seeing what the...

- Mmm-hmm.
- What the rest of this challenge has in store.

Absolutely.

[Gary] All you're [bleep]
wrapped in that burlap?

Uh-huh. good idea, yeah.

That way, we just
grab it and go, huh?

[Waz] So, we're ready
for whatever hits us.

[Gary] Me and Waz,

his fate isn't tied to mine
anymore and mine isn't tied to his.

[narrator] For the first half of
this competition, every seven days,

the survivalists are relocated to
a new, undisclosed destination.

- [sighs] Start grabbing our stuff.
- [Sarah] Yeah.

Let me get my wilde-boots on.

[narrator] Now, they will advance
to the next phase of the challenge,

zone four.

[Waz] We're just
gonna back down the hill

- to, uh, where we got this map from.
- Oh, yeah, on that rock.

Yeah.

[narrator] To begin
their migration,

they must first track
down a new map

located near a boulder at
the base of the mountain.

[Dan] That looks like the
same rock we started at.

- Yep, so our map should be right there.
- Perfect.

[narrator] For 21 days,

the fate of each competitor has
been tied to their partner's survival.

- Ready.
- Mmm-hmm.

[narrator] Today, that's
all about to change.

Do it, do it.

[Steven] With a move, there's
always anticipation, there's always fear,

is it gonna be better, is it gonna be
worse? I mean, it totally could be worse.

How's the group
dynamic gonna go?

Maybe some tensions flare up.

There might be some arguments,
there's already been some.

- [Gary] Are you ready?
- [Waz] Yeah, buddy.

[Gary] Let's go see
what adventures await us.

I do wonder what's ahead,
I don't know what's next.

All these little snowflakes
better get their boots on

and start playing
the freaking game.

[Matt] 21 days in
this challenge, so far.

My, uh, finger
is a little better.

Still feels like there's
maybe a knife stabbed in it

but I'm not really
concerned about it.

And right now, I'm
feeling good, feeling fresh,

feeling ready for, you
know, 24 more days out here.

And that's a lot of
trouble for my opponents.

Because I feel like
I'm only getting started.

All right, so I've got all
my items laid out here

and looking at them, I kind of
wish I had a moving truck. [laughs]

I've accumulated a lot
of stuff in the first 21 days

and, uh, I need to figure out how to
pack it up all into one backpack, if I can.

That way transportation
will be easy and swift.

Knowing how the others
have turned their back on me,

it makes me think that I may need
to be the first one to the next location

because when we get there,
it's like a new game all over again,

new map, new resources,

everybody is going to be
trying to beat me to those items

and I need to be ready.

All right.

Good bye, shelter,
good bye, location.

[Cheeny] You okay?

Yeah, I'm good.

- [Dan] You got the axe?
- [Cheeny] I have the axe.

[Dan] Thank you.

[Dan] Here we go, eight maps.
One for each of us, Cheeny.

[Cheeny] Oh.

"Congratulations on
making it to day 21,

you are now one step closer to
becoming the last one standing.

Teams, this will be your
last journey as a pair."

[Cheeny whimpering]

"When you reach the fork in the road,
each of you must choose a separate path."

Okay.

"Lone survivalists, you will follow the
same trail until you reach the divide."

- The divide.
- The divide.

[narrator] The survivalists must
now navigate a 1,000 foot descend

before reaching
a fork on the trail.

Here, they will part ways.

- One of us goes left and the other goes right.
- Yep.

[narrator] Entering zone four,

each will make their way to separate
camps, marked by skulls on the map

where they will be joined
by other competitors.

- That's sad, hmm.
- It is sad.

[Cheeny] Hmm, hmm.

So, when I open up the
map and I read the rules

about going separate ways
with Dan, my heart breaks.

[Dan] All righty.

Having the right partner
in these challenges is key.

I've had the best and
the worst 21 days with him

and, uh, this moment
sucks right now.

[thunder rumbling]

[Dan] I think,
we're at the fork.

[Cheeny] Oh, yep.

Ah, so, it's gonna
be two teams of four.

[Dan] Two teams of four.

[Cheeny] Well, you wanna
do rock, paper, scissors?

- Winner...
- Let's do that.

- Winner goes right, loser goes left.
- Sure.

- [Dan] You ready?
- [Cheeny] Yep.

[Dan] Yeah, rock,
paper, scissor, shoot.

[Dan sighs]

- You go right?
- I'll go right.

[Dan] I'm gonna miss you.

[Cheeny speaking]

[Dan speaking]

- [Cheeny speaking]
- [Dan sighs]

Our fates are no
longer connected

but, um, you know, it's hard to
say goodbye to a good thing like that.

[Dan] All right.

On my own now.

I'm pretty damn
bummed, to be honest.

Whoo.

[Dan] Close to the water.

Ah, there's a marker.

All right.

It's a new beginning.

[Cheeny] Well couldn't have
asked for a better partner for 21 days.

Let's hope my luck continues.

Oh, there's my skull.

I guess this is it.

You know, I'm excited
to see what happens

but I'm also kinda dreading...

certain individuals that
might walk through here

that I have to spend time with.

[Steven] I see a map.

[Sarah] I see maps.

[Sarah] When you
reach the fork in the road,

each of you must
choose a separate path.

- Oh, neat.
- Interesting.

[Steven] Okay.

All right. Wow.

Splittin'... splittin'
ways, hun.

[Sarah] Yup.

- So it's time for Steven and I to part ways.
- [Steven] Hmm.

Not that I ever expected
that he was going to be

the type of person to tap out,

but, uh, just having
that, you know,

little bit of extra
freedom there

is definitely an asset.

Looks like we got
something up here.

[Steven] All right. [sniffles]

[Steven] You got the
pot, I get the fire starter.

[Sarah] Yeah, and
I got the small knife.

- You got the machete?
- Okay. Yeah, it'll work.

All right.

I guess that brings
it to, you know,

which direction do you wanna go?

- I really wanna go left.
- Okay.

Is there a reason
you wanna go left?

Well, there's more...
more plains out there.

And I got the bow,

so I think I'm gonna have
more hunting opportunities.

- Okay, that makes sense.
- Yeah.

[sighs] Uh, I
guess I'll go right

'cause that's the
only other option.

- [chuckling]
- [Steven] I appreciate it.

- That's cool. Good looking out.
- No problem.

- Yeah.
- I love you.

[Steven] We had a
pretty good partnership

but I am stoked for this change.

This is a new
part in this journey.

We're halfway done

and, uh, the second half

is a part I'm really
looking forward to.

Looks like I found
a camp down here.

Hey, buddy!

What's up, buddy?

[Steven] Hey!

[Dan] Yeah! What's up, brother?

- Excited to be with you.
- Me too. Me too, yeah.

[Dan] I am stoked.

Just being there with
somebody that I... I've...

I've gone through this with

and I know his work ethic
and I know his skill set.

[Steven] Check it out.

Oh, look at that guy.

- You've eaten one of these before, right?
- No, not yet.

- No?
- First time ever.

You're in for a treat.

[Dan] Real medallions.

Five star Amazon right there.

That's a score.

[Dan] Got a fire starter.

- Got, uh, I don't have those in here.
- [Steven] Two fishing hooks.

- But this...
- ...Good I gave her the fishing hooks.

I got two fishing hooks,

- I got some line so.
- Oh, [bleep] yeah.

- Yup.
- Yup.

Exactly what I was hoping for.

King of the forest.
Love this guy.

He's just solid
and a hard worker.

I watched him, like, frail and
losing teeth in the Amazon.

Then his hardworking
attitude never broke.

Who else we got?

We got Waz or Gary

and then Jeff or Matt.

- So, fingers crossed.
- All right.

That was... [chuckling]

Yup.

[laughing]

[panting] Well, I'm on my own.

Honestly, I'm ready to rock it.

I'm feeling kind
of excited about...

you know, testing the waters,

a situation, a new scenario.

New environment.

Cheeny.

Sarah.

- Hi.
- Hi.

- How you doing?
- Good.

[Sarah] So stoked to
see Cheeny, you know?

She's a fantastic go getter.

She is very enthusiastic

about, you know, what she does.

[Cheeny] What do
you have for tools?

[grunts] I have a
pot, a small knife,

- two fish hooks...
- [Cheeny] Nice.

And that's about it.

Cool, I have a machete,
the axe, a fish hook

- and I think the fire starter.
- Oh, perfect.

I was so hoping
you want me to say

- a fire starter.
- [Cheeny] Yeah.

[chuckles]

[Cheeny] Sarah's awesome.

She's a rad chick,

you know? Girl power
and all that [bleep].

Obviously we know

- that Steven and Dan are in the other camp.
- Yup.

But as far as who's
coming down here,

not a clue.

- Just wanna be surprised.
- Yup.

Yeah, baby.

[Jeff] Why it's important
that we get to the map first?

Whoever gets the map first

will already have a head start

on making it to
the new location.

And as we know, whoever makes it

to the new location the fastest,

they have an advantage

in finding these items first.

So this is important.

It's not a race at this point.

It's a... It's a
migration it's a trek.

You can burn yourself out,

not see an obstacle
when it's coming,

let a snake bite ya...

all kinds of things.

So, I'm down here. Looks
like I'm going this way.

[breathing heavily] Okay.

I assume that's
the divider there.

Okay.

[breathing heavily]

[chuckling]

[Jeff] All I know is that
I'm in a competition.

I'm fighting for
my life out here.

[grunting]

[groans] [bleep]

[chuckles] Got
bees all around me.

I'm in my happy place.

[narrator] For this competition,

the PSR or Primitive
Survival Rating

weighs an individual's
survival skill

and items collected

to determine the
likelihood of becoming

the Last One Standing.

[Matt] Pretty deep.

I just jacked myself up.

[narrator] A mishap
with the knife

puts Matt at a
severe disadvantage.

Ah, yup, it's pretty bad.

I'm in big trouble.

[narrator] Even though
he was able to adapt...

Uh, what... What the hell, dude?

Are those a bunch of frogs?

[Matt] 45 of 'em.

Dude, you are a show off.

What the [bleep]?

[narrator] ...Matt's hunting
skills are now hampered,

dropping his PSR
from 9.8 to 9.6.

- [woman] Gary's up in the tree.
- [man] Jesus.

[Gary] There's a lot out here.

I'm just going for it.

Don't, Gary. It's gonna break.

[narrator] Despite
the tough location,

Gary's risky
strategy pays off big

with two massive food scores.

[Gary] There's a ton
more up here, but,

that's a good haul right now.

[narrator] His unique skill set

makes him a serious threat

in his bid to become
the last one standing.

[woman] Oh my God!

- [Waz] That's like the coolest thing I've ever seen.
- What the hell!

[laughing]

[narrator] His PSR
jumps from 8.1 to 8.4.

[Cheeny] Whoo, just
got really light headed.

[narrator] Depleted of energy,

Cheeny continues to be pushed

to her limit...

[Cheeny] Feel like
I'm about to pass out.

[narrator] ...and now
separated from her main support

in this competition.

- One of us goes left and the other goes right.
- [Dan] Yup.

[Cheeny] This moment
sucks right now.

[narrator] Her PSR
drops from 7.8 to 7.6.

For additional PSR information

[Waz] Oh this
looks like it Gary.

This is it.

We're going our separate ways.

There's definitely a
sense of, uh, relief.

We've been working well together

but we also are not
responsible for each other

and to such a degree now.

- [Gary] Do you wanna go that way?
- I guess I...

Yeah, would love to.

- Okay.
- My whole life

I've always said, "Right's
right. Right's, right."

And now I'm... I wanna...

I wanna take a left for once
to see what happens there.

- Yeah?
- Yeah.

- See what happens.
- Well dude hey...

- It's probably a...
- We... We killed...

We killed it for 21 days, dude.

- It's been a pleasure.
- It's been a pleasure, yeah.

I... I've got to make
up that thing I missed

in the Amazon

and I've learnt so much from ya

-and it's... it's been
great -Oh, yeah.

...being by your
side this last 21 days.

Vice versa, dude.

All right, buddy. Good
luck, man. Got to go.

Good luck to you too, man.

[Gary] Off into the
unknown. [exhales]

[Dan] Yeah, where
do you wanna sleep?

I'm thinking we
probably sleep right here.

- [Dan] Under this area?
- Yeah.

You're right. That
looks great to me.

- It's flat. It's perfect.
- Got some cover.

I'm gonna clear this area out.

- You do that.
- Okay, cool.

[bleep] kinda looks like
poison ivy but it's not.

Freaking me out, though.

[Steven] Hey, hey, hey!

Yeah. [laughs]

- Yeah, boy.
- [Steven] Yeah, boy.

[Dan and Steven cheering]

[Waz] Super excited
to see Dan and Steven.

Hung out with them a lot in
the Amazon, especially Dan.

I did 50 days with
him in the Amazon.

All right. There it is.

[Waz] I'm taking it.

[man 1 screams]

- [Dan laughing]
- [Waz laughing] Yes!

[Dan] Buddy!

Come here, bring it in again.

- Uh, I want to gather more...
- What's up...

- [grunts] Good job, buddy.
- [chuckles]

- [Steven] [bleep] yeah!
- Oh, ho!

[both grunting]

Yes.

Awesome. [grunts]

[Steven] That's right,
the muscle himself,

my Aussie brother Waz.

Now I got two of
my Amazon brothers.

So, I mean, so far
we're working on

a total dream team right now.

Yeah, boy!

[all cheering]

[voices echoing]

[man] Hey, buddy.

Sounds like Matt, huh?

I don't know, I can't tell.

We'll be stuck
with [bleep] Jeff.

Yeah.

[Sarah] No, Gary.

Yeah, me too.

- [Sarah] That the man?
- Oh, hello.

How you doin'?

- [Sarah] All right. Good.
- [Cheeny] Nothing.

Quite a hike in.

[Sarah] Yeah, no kidding.

At the other camp you
could hear it from far away.

[imitating voices]

Like celebrations.

Our... our intro was, like,

It... It was nothing like that.

It was like...

"Oh."

[chuckles] Like when you
open that Christmas present

from your aunt
and it just, like,

isn't what you wanted.

I mean, who the fourth
person's gonna be?

- Hmm, no idea.
- It's only a matter of Jeff.

[Gary] I know.

[breathing heavily]

[Jeff] Whoo! Well.

Day 21 and you know what?

Today, everyone
loses their partner.

Me? I've already had to
jump through that hurdle

seven days ago.

So, I feel like I'm at
an advantage now.

I've been bullied and picked on

for an entire week,
everyone ganging up on me.

But now that I
get the opportunity

to go to a new camp,

uh, I think this
changes everything.

I'm optimistic.

I'm hopeful.

And you know what?

I'm one step closer

to being last one standing.

[breathing heavily]

[Matt] All right, well,

looks like one map left.

So I guess I'll pick
this one up and...

see where it takes me.

As I'm coming down this trail,

I had one option.

So, I guess I hope, uh...

I hope having no option

is a good option,

because... right now,

my destiny,

you know, is falling on

wherever this trail leads me.

[Gary] Gonna see who's
gonna come rolling up.

[Cheeny] Yeah, it's
Matt and I'll be happy,

it'll be Jeff and I'll be sad.

[chuckles]

Yeah... [laughing]

-That's one way to put it.
[chuckles] -[Cheeny indistinctly]

- [Cheeny] Yeah.
- [Gary] Yeah, I mean,

at the same time,

Jeff has a resource
that hopefully...

we could share in a
hard situation, in the rain,

a truly waterproof roof.

So we're gonna
have to look positive

at no matter who it is.

Um, I could just make a
hammock out of one of those hides,

that covers that.

[laughs]

That'd be a cozy hammock.

We can also just skin
him and tan his hide.

- [Gary] What's that?
- Nothing.

[Gary laughing] Tan his hide.

[Gary] Matt or Jeff...

gonna come rolling in.
