Frank gets a call from Bob asking for help on a terrible case. A young couple has been brutally murdered inside their own home, while their young daughter was forced to watch. Oddly, the couple had a high-tech security system in place, but the alarm never went off until after the crime was finished. Now that the child is in the hospital, Bob wants to interview her as soon as possible. Catherine, who is providing counseling, insists that while the girl may be able to ID the killer, forcing her to re-live the event may push her irrevocably beyond treatment. Meanwhile, the killer strikes again at another house, once more somehow defeating the most advanced security systems money can buy.
