A young woman and her boyfriend, carrying the woman's abusive step-father in the trunk of their car, go searching for someone the woman refers to as Angel. When the boyfriend shoots and kills a policeman during a traffic stop, the check run on the car's license plate leads to a link with a string of serial killings from several years earlier, which is where Peter and Frank get called in. As the couple continues their search for Angel leaving a trail of bodies in their wake, Frank must unlock the family's secrets to guess what their goal is and where they are headed.
