(Marty) Best paws
forward everyone!

Listen up!

People come from
all over the city

to attend our
Animal Pride Parade.

Each year, Kate outdoes
herself building the floats,

and it's on us to bring the...

(Melman) First aid kit!

(Marty) Pride!

We gotta greet that audience,
give them our best performances,

and show off our animal flair!

(Alex) Yeah!

Everyone's still talking
about last year's parade!

(Marty) Of course they are.
Because it was perfect!

And who could forget
the year before's,

Zebras-Take-Flight float!
That one was also perfect.

(Kate) Good morning, everyone!
Happy Animal Pride weekend!

Heh! Can't wait to see
you all strut your stuff

in the parade tomorrow.

(Carlos) Happy Pride, Kate!
What's next on the to-do list?

(Kate) Well, we have to
clear the parade route,

paint the sea lion float,

check the leak on
the hippo float...

Uh! And that's
just before lunch!

(Carlos) Ay, ay, Captain!
Let's get it done!

(Ant'ney) What's next on your
list, Grand Marshal Marty?

(Marty) Oh, just a few things.

(Ant'ney) Whoa! Uh! Uh!

(Marty) Can you help
me read it, Ant'ney?

(Ant'ney) Sure thing,
kid! Hmm, where to start?

(Gloria) I've been workin'
on my splash dance!

- What do you think?
- (Ant'ney) Color me impressed!

(Marty) Can't wait to see
your entrance, Gloria!

(Gloria) Thanks! Uh!
Sometimes, I wish I could be

in the audience and on
stage at the same time.

(Gloria giggles)

(Ant'ney) Hippo act, check.

(seals bark)

(Marty) Way to
make waves, crew!

Think you can add
your famous spin?

(Ronathan) You
got it, boss! Huh!

(Ronathan barking)

(Ant'ney) Ow! Ugh!

Now, that's somethin'
to take pride in!

(Marty) The Sea Lion Float is
gonna knock it outta the zoo!

(Ronathan) Gonna
be tough to top

last year's Stars and
Stripes Zebra Float.

(Marty) Yeah!

Oh, stop. It was nothin'. But
it was perfect, wasn't it?

(Ant'ney) Sea Lion
Spectacular, check!

(Marty) Why is
that so satisfying?

(Ant'ney) Beats me, kid!

(Melman humming)

(Marty) Hey, Melman.

How's the "Giraffes can
Dance" dance comin', buddy?

(Melman) Gloria
says I can do it,

I just need to
trust my body. Ugh!

C'mon, body, I trusted you!

(Marty) Try looking up
instead of at your feet,

you'll get there!

(Ant'ney) So, the "Giraffes
can Dance" dance is...

(Marty) In progress,
but looking up!

(Ant'ney) Uh!

(Pickles chuckles)

(Pickles) Rumor is this year's
Pride Parade spectacular

will be the best one yet!

(Marty) Would we
call it a "rumor"?

Or would we call it the "truth"?

(Pickles) Call it what you
want, just don't let me down.

I bet Dave all his bananas

that you'll beat last
year's crowd numbers.

(Dave chatters)

(Marty) Then get ready,

'cause it's about to
rain banana juice!

- Ant'ney, list me!
- (Ant'ney) Let's see.

We checked on the hedgies
act and Alex's mighty roar.

Ooh, next up, double-triple,
quadruple-check float safety.

(Marty) My favorite
to-duty! Let's go.

(Melman humming)

- (Ant'ney) Is the coast clear?
- (Marty) All clear!

- (Ant'ney) Ooh.
- (Marty) Come on. Uh!

Now, our first look
at the floats...

(Marty gasps)

(Ant'ney) Amazing!

(Marty) Ooh, whoa!

(Melman) They're even
better than I hoped.

(Marty) You know, I usually
don't like for anyone

to see the floats

(Melman) Ta-da!

(Ant'ney) Oh, eh! Eh!

(Marty) And now, my

(Melman) Let's hear it for the
parade planner extraordinaire!

(Gloria) And your Grand
Marshal, Grand Marty!

(Alex) Nice parade
wave! Very regal.

(Melman) Who's this one for?

(Ant'ney) According
to our list,

all the animal floats
are accounted for.

(Marty) Maybe Kate and Carlos
wanted a float of their own.

Okay, just a few
things left to check,

is the floor on the
lion float sturdy?

(Alex) Uh! Uh! Uh! Check!

(Marty) Any leaks
on the hippo float?

(Gloria) Totally
leak-less! Check!

(Marty) Alright, alright.
Zebra on the chimp float?

Wait, why's there a
zebra on the chimp float?

(Melman) Dontcha mean

"why's there a giraffe

(Odie) Oh, my gosh, I didn't

then I look up and,

Uh! Five friends!

(everybody) Huh?

(Odie) Oh, uh, let me back

But you can call me Odie.

(Marty) You see an
"Odie" on the list?

(Ant'ney) Nah-uh.

(Melman) Hi, Odie, I'm Melman!
What kinda "amnimal" are you?

A "zeba-raffe"? A "girebra"?

(Odie) I don't know what
kind of animal I am.

Oh, wait, yes, I do.
I'm a party animal!

And it looks like I arrived
just in time for the party!

Mm-hmm! Yeah!

- (Melman) Uh!
- (Odie) Oops, sorry.

- (Melman) Cool spin!
- (Alex) But what are you?

What do you call other
animals like you?

(Odie) I'm the only me I know!

One minute, I was being
rescued in a rainforest

and the next, bam!
I was right here!

Well, right "there" here.

(Gloria) The guest habitat!

That means you're
part of A Little Wild!

(Melman) Whatever you
are, you're one of us now!

(Marty) A new animal, the
day before the parade?

Nobody told me.

(Odie) Don't mean to
be a party crasher!

Hope it's not a problem.

(Marty) Problem? For a
seasoned parade planner?

Psh! If anyone can figure out

what you are and where
you belong, it's me!

"Mission: Find
where Odie belongs"

begins now, right
after I fix that.

Okay, Odie.

Nothin' says zebra like
black and white stripes,

so I'm betting you
belong on my float!

(Odie) Your float?
Wow, I'm so honored!

But I don't know
anything about zebraing.

(Marty) You are in
luck, my friend.

I happen to be an
expert on the topic.

The first step in
advanced zebraing

is learning to trot
with posture and style!

Now, you try.

(Odie) Uh, whoa...

Oh, oh. Wha-whadaya think?

(Marty) Naturalness
takes practice.

Let's take it from the top!
Remember, posture and style.

And a one and a two and a...

(Odie) Posture and style,
whoa, posture and style...

(Marty) I knew
you were a zebra!

Posture and style
come naturally to us.

(Rat) Hey, Marty!

Nice to see you enjoying your
final year as Grand Marshal!

(Marty) What do you
mean "final year"?

(Rat) I just figured
you were retiring.

Bill says he's keepin'
an eye on the parade.

If anything goes wrong,
he's got his beak set

on taking over the
whole shebang next year.

(Marty) No way! The
parade is my thing.

(Odie) Hey, Marty,
check me out!

(Rat) What an
interesting-looking animal.

Hope you know what
float they go on!

(Marty sighs)

- (Odie) How was that, Marty?
- (Marty) Way to go, Odie!

You move like the most
zebra-y zebra to ever zebra.

When they see us trotting
in style on the zebra float,

no one'll ever dare
say I've lost control

of the parade-planning ship!

(Odie) Oh, there's a ship too?
Hope zebras don't get seasick.

(Marty) In the wild, stripes
hide you from predators,

but here in the city,

they're for the
element of surprise!

Just watch and learn.

(Gloria humming)

(Gloria) Heya,
Odie, where's Marty?

Maybe he's checking something.
How are zebra lessons going?

(Odie) Uh...

- (Marty) They're great!
- (Gloria) Marty!

(everybody laughs)

He gets me every time.

(Gloria laughs)

(Odie) Ooh! Alex is
coming! I'll get 'im good!

Hi, Alex!

(Alex) Huh?

Uh! Where's the
other half of you?

(Odie) Don't worry, Alex!
I'm just camouflagin'.

You know how zebras roll.

(Alex chuckles)

(Alex) Good one.

(Marty) Yep, we zebras
sure are hilarious.

How does it feel to know
you're a bonafide zebra?

(Odie) I wouldn't know, I
don't feel like a zebra!

(Marty) Huh? But you
zebra'ed so well!

(Odie) I did, didn't I!

Being a zebra was pretty rad,
but it doesn't feel like me.

(Marty) Okay, do not panic!

(Odie) I'm not panicking.
Are you panicking?

(Marty) Why would
I be panicking!

Just because we
need to figure out

which float you belong
on before tomorrow?

(Ant'ney) Full-Stripes
and Half-Stripes! Uh, uh!

- How goes it?
- (Marty) Hah, super-duper!

(Ant'ney) Whew, well, I just
came from seein' the bird floats.

Bill the Flamingo is really
pullin' out all the stops!

Not a feather outta place. Oh!

(Marty) Oh! Puh, nothin'
outta place here either.

Just a couple zebras zebraing.

(Marty gaps)

(Ant'ney) You sure you got
Odie on the right float?

Bill says he'd be
happy to pitch in

- if you're havin' trouble.
- (Marty) I'm sure I'm sure!

I could do this parade
with my eyes closed,

while I'm sleeping, standing up.

(Ant'ney) Okay. I'll
leave ya to it then.

(Marty) Okay, Marty,
pressure's on.

Good thing you're great
under pressure. Uh!

(both laughing)

I got it! If
you're not a zebra,

you must be a giraffe.

I mean, that tongue,
and look at your head!

- (Odie) I-I can't see it!
- (Marty) Trust me on this one.

It's time for a
different kinda lesson.

Melman, I have news!

(Melman) Oh, I should
probably sit down for this.

Alright. Break it to me.

(Marty) No, Melman,
it's great news! Odie?

(Odie) Well, turns
out I'm not a zebra,

so Marty says I must
belong with you!

(Melman) Uh! I always
wanted a cousin!

(Gloria) Congrats, you two!

(Marty) So, Melman,
if you could show Odie

all the things
giraffes can do...

(Melman) I do do
a lot of things.

I hope you can keep up.

(Odie) Reporting
for duty, cuz!

(Melman giggles)

(Melman) Cuz!

(Marty) While you get
to know each other,

I'm gonna look over
my to-do list again!

(Gloria) Haven't you gone
through it enough already?

When does that "to-do" list
become a "been-done" list?

(Marty) With Bill the Flamingo trying to take
over the parade, I can't get anything wrong!

(Melman) Let's get
started! Being a giraffe

doesn't just mean
reaching stuff up high.

It means reaching really
awesome stuff up high.

See? Now, you try!

(Odie grunting)

(Odie) Maybe if I just, um...

Nope! Too short!

(Gloria) Giraffes
come in many sizes!

(Melman) Maybe you should learn
the "Giraffes can Dance" dance

and see how you feel.

(Odie) I love to
move and groove!

(Alex) Did someone
say "dance party"?

(Alex humming)

(everybody laughing)

another banana break.

those banana fingers.

(Dave chatters)

- Clean monkey hands.
- (Ant'ney) Check!

(Pickles) Oh, by the way,
Marty, Bill stopped by earlier

- and wanted me to tell you...
- (Marty) Listen.

you look him right in his bill

and tell him that this
parade is glitzed, glammed,

and ready to go!

By the way, love your
work up there, Pickles.

(Dave chatters)

Now, that's how
you do the Melman!

(Gloria) Bravo! Giraffes
really can dance!

Not that I had any
doubt about it.

(Marty) So, Odie,

how did you like giraffe
time with Melman?

(Odie) I didn't like it.

I loved it!

(Marty) That settles
it, you're a giraffe!

- (Odie) Nope!
- (Marty) Huh?

good of a neck dancer

as I am a tail
shaker, but giraffe?

Nah, doesn't feel like me.

(Marty) Odie, we are
running out of time.

- We need to focus.
