Lego Masters (2020–…): Season 2, Episode 6 - Demolition Derby - full transcript

Contestants must build an exact replica of Will Arnett's Lego Lamborghini from memory; contestants enter a Demolition Derby battle, in which each team must build a wild, remote-controlled concept car that fights it out against the others.

- Will: Last week
on "lego masters,"

there was something
in the air...

The winner of this
challenge will take home
the golden brick.

- It would be great
to have it back.

...As our builders built
unbelievable creations

off one floating brick.

This whole thing is
hanging from a piece
that's this big.

A land war developed between
two teams of brothers.

- Why are you copying
our build?

- I thought you
were copying our build!

- They're literally
copies of each other!

But it was mark and steven
who finished on top.

- You make it look effortless.

Fashion show winners
michelle and natalie

fell to the bottom two.

But it was randall and
syreeta who left deflated.

- The seam clearly
didn't come together.

- Thank y'all so much.

Tonight,
"lego masters" hits the road

with two challenges...

Your first challenge is to
build an exact replica

from memory.

- Whoa!
- Go!

...And demolishing
muscle cars

in the most insane
demo derby ever.

Let's get pumped up!

- We're pumped up!

- Are we pumped up?
- Yes!

Will susan and jen
make it across

the finish line in time?

- How am I gonna
finish this other side?

Can dave and richard
ride with the big boys?

- The rage of the demolition
just comes out.

And will fox let me
drive this thing home?

- Holy cow!

Let's find out now.

- [engine revving]

- hey!

- Yeah!
- Oh!

- It's a car. It's a car.
- Is it a car?

- It's literally a lego lambo.

That's pretty iconic
right there.

We've flown under
the radar so far

so we're hoping to get
the brickmasters' attention

and get in that top two.

- I am not a car guy.
I've never built a lego car.

The only car that
concerns me is the one

that gets me from point a
to point b.

That's where
our relationship ends.

- Hello, builders.

Sorry, don't mind me.

Just putting the finishing
touches on my new ride.

How do I look
standing next to it?

Does it scream expert builder
or mid-life crisis?

Don't answer that.
Don't answer that.

I'm not ready for the truth.

All right, your first
challenge today--

- first?

- Is to build an exact
replica of my lego lambo.

- What?

- So why don't you come on
and take a good look?

- Let's go look at it.
- Will: Get in there.

- Richard: I'm in awe
of this lamborghini,

so I'm just trying
to take in this car

and just enjoy this moment.

- Try not to scratch it.
It's a lease, so...

Beautiful, huh?

All right, guys,
you can head back.

So at each of your build tables
you'll find the very same

pieces that I used
to build this,

including this last piece
that I just actually missed
to put in here.

- They're the exact same--
- oh, no!

- Got the one piece though.

I guess it kind of looked
okay without it.

- Anyway, well,
the show must go on.

You still have to
recreate that build

but now you're doing it
from memory.

- [groaning]
- oh, my gosh.

- The team that comes
closest to replicating

my lego lambo
wins an advantage
in your next challenge.

- Natalie: Last week
we were in the bottom two.

- So we would love to have
an advantage

but we also don't know cars.

- Like nothing.

- You have four hours.
- What?

- Four hours.

I don't want you forgetting
any of the details,

so I'm not gonna say
anything else except

get your brick on!

- Okay.
- Okay, okay, okay.

- Natalie: I didn't get
a good look at the back.

- Mark: All right,
what's the plan?

I'm kind of at a loss here.

This challenge
is really difficult.

This is a memory build.

It involves
our nemesis technic,

which is totally
out of our element.

This is not gonna be easy.

- Will:
What is lego technic?

I'm so glad you asked.

Technic is a line
of lego pieces

for advanced building that
goes beyond bricks and plates.

The technic series includes
gears, axles, pins,

beams, motors, and more.

- This is a lot of pieces
I've never seen before.

- So, amy, how hard is it
to build from memory?

- Well, I'm thinking
of this challenge

as the world's most
difficult jigsaw puzzle.

They have all the pieces,
but they have to work out

how to put them together.

- I'm trying to think
if I'm remembering it wrong.

- This build can take
a good builder 10 to 15 hours,

and we're only
giving them four.

- This is exceptionally hard.

They are creating
a very iconic car

and we're gonna notice all
those little imperfections.

- It's all about the details.

I mean, if you don't
get that curved line

around the top right,
it's gonna throw everything off.

- So it should be more like
this, but at an angle, right?

- I guess so, yeah.
- Okay.

- What did the back
look like?

- Wheels are obviously
stumping me.

I've obviously
not built a car.

- Susan: Not feeling strong
about this one, jen.

Oh, man. Four hours
is not a lot of time.

- Jen: No.

- With our
time management issues

that we've already got?

- I just remember kind of
like a swoop kind of thing.

And then you got, like,
these--

- wayne: Yeah,
the fuselage sticking out

and kind of just
out like that.

- Zack and wayne.
- Hey, what's up?

- How's it going?
- Hi, guys.

You guys are well on
your way.

Have you guys built
cars before?

- I've driven this
particular model

more often than I would
like to admit.

- You've driven
a lamborghini before?

- A lot. A lot.
- A lot?

- Zack, have you driven
a lambo?

- No, no, no.

- But wayne has.
- But he has.

- Unbelievable.
- Zack: It's amazing

the people you meet
in archery.

- Oh, yeah. And sushi.

This thing right here,
it's loud and fast.

- Oh, man, it's like--
- will: Super fast?

- If we can capture a feeling,
then we're good.

- I'll know. I'll know.
- All right, guys, good luck.

- The brickmasters
wanted us to capture

that overall shape
of the car and take out
those key details.

For example, the lights are
something we wanted to focus on.

But there's also the flags
on the back.

So we're trying
to capture some of those
really iconic details

in this car to make it
stand out as a lamborghini.

- Richard: I remember
there was a space.

Like, it was lower
to the ground.

It's gonna be more like
a hooptie than a lambo, so...

- Dave: This is like how
we started building
when we were kids.

You look at that and you're
like, "that looks close.

Like, I got the feeling."

that's what we're trying to do
is get the feeling of it.

- Do you have any idea what
might have been back here?

- No, maybe something small.

Because they
kind of had windows.

Knowing that there is going
to be an advantage

for whoever wins this
challenge,

we want to make sure that
we put our best foot forward.

Because winning an advantage
could be very helpful.

Good?

- Kind of.
- [clattering]

- will: Okay, who's doing
well and who's struggling?

And let's bring our voices down
so that they can't hear us.

- Here we go.
- I can hear you from here,
which is not normal.

- I still have nothing
covering the trunk area.

- Jamie: Jen and susan,
they're going more rounded,

and lamborghinis tend to
have more sharp lines,

- angles, hexagons, y's.
- Will: Yes.

- I mean, it's not the worst.

- Will: Phillip and maria are

not as low to the ground
as the lambo.

- Yes.
- It's not bad.

It's pretty close.

- David and richard
are pretty far.

- They are.
They're very far.

Caleb and jacob
are pretty far.

So, that's very good.
That's very good!

Those teams are doing well.
You're right.

- That actually works
really well.

- Does that look weird?

- That does not look like
the back of a lamborghini.

- It'd be green, not black.

- I'm 100% sure they're black.
- They are green.

- They're black.
- Theirs are green.

- Zack and wayne's are green.
- Are they green?

- Will: Guys, sometimes
just out of the blue

I like to just kind of go,
"one minute left!"

- oh, my gosh.
- That was a good one.

- One minute!

- We're gonna have to work.

- Phillip: It doesn't look
like the right car.

- Maria: Looks like a car.
- Will: Ten seconds.

- These were on the end.
- We didn't get this fin part.

- Will: Three, two, one.

Time's up. Bricks down.

- It's a car!
- Yeah.

I feel like the other teams have
more of a car-looking thing.

- Jen: I don't know
if our roof is too high

or our wheels
are far enough apart.

I'm not quite sure anymore.

- For the past four hours,
you've been building

high-quality knockoffs
of my lego lambo.

Now, normally that
kind of copyright infringement

will get you arrested,
but here on "lego masters"

it wins you a prize.

More on that in a minute.

While you were rebuilding
my old car,

I did the same. Two, actually.

That one right there, which--

oh, I just noticed
there's a piece that I should--

- no!
- No, no, no, no.

- I'm not gonna make
that mistake twice.

No, that one right there,
and this one.

- [engine revving]

- that looks awesome.

- Holy cow!
- Oh, my gosh.

- Wow.
- [engine revving]

- will: This work of art
is constructed

with 400,000
lego technic pieces

and weighs
nearly 5,000 pounds.

- Oh, my god.

- So, let's see which team
did the best

in the memory build.

Brickmasters,
let's compare these builds

to my lego lambo.

Okay, first up,
zack and wayne.

- If this advantage secures us
to not be eliminated

this challenge right there,
I'd really like to get it.

- Zack: We feel confident
in our build.

- I have a pretty good
feeling about this.

I'm just gonna say.

- Brickmasters, let's see
which team did the best

in the memory build.

First up, zack and wayne.

- If this advantage secures us
to not be eliminated

from this challenge,
I'd really like to get it.

- Jamie:
Zack and wayne, we had the
highest expectations for you,

having the experience
with the car.

But I'm a little bit surprised
at your proportions.

It's quite long,
and the flat front is
really distracting for me.

- It does feel
a little bit unfinished.

I think time got
the better of you here.

- Wayne:
That did not come out well.

We are definitely not
satisfied with this lambo.

- Will: Wayne, you were
very confident.

You told me you had driven
this car a lot.

- Next up, mark and steven.

- Amy: Mark and steven,
I think you've really captured

the smooth lines
of the car really well.

And you've got it
nice and low.

It's a really good effort
and a nice car.

- Will:
Michelle and natalie.

- Jamie: When I'm looking
at this I see it's so low

I think it's actually
on the ground.

I think its proportions
that are kind of fighting

against you right now.

- Feel pretty good.

- It looks like a car.

- Will: Dave and richard.

- Amy: Dave and richard,
I think you've captured

the front curves
really, really well.

And there's some nice
finishing details

with the spoiler
in the back as well.

This looks like
a pretty awesome car.

- Maria and phillip.

- Jamie: Initially, I can't
help but see an suv almost.

It is that height
that makes it feel

a little bit more aggressive
than we would have expected.

- Will:
Okay, lauren and bryan.

- Amy: You've really paid
attention to the details

and managed to hold them
in your memory,

but we're missing
a little bit of the slope.

I don't know how you could
really get in to the car.

But all in all, I think
it's a really solid effort.

- Will: Caleb and jacob.

- Jamie: Wow.

I'm amazed at how much
you did remember.

- Amy: You even have
the little italian flag in here

almost exactly where
they are in the car.

So really, the attention
to detail on this, top notch.

- Jamie:
Real solid execution.

- For guys who
don't care about cars...

- ...Not bad.
- Not bad.

- Will: Susan and jen.

- Jamie: The curves, for me,
are a little bit strong.

I feel like
it's a great concept car,

just a little bit
too far off from this car.

- It'll at least put us in
the middle of the pack maybe.

- Will: Brickmasters,
who did the best job

at recreating my car?

- The winner of
the challenge is...

Caleb and jacob.

Well done, guys.

- Will: Congratulations,
caleb and jacob.

You've earned an advantage
in the next challenge.

And I'll tell you
what that advantage is
in just a minute.

- Caleb: We won something!

This is so awesome.

- We're car builders now.
- Yes!

- Now, for your
second challenge today

let's shift gears and transform

the rest
of this episode into...

A demolition derby.

- Each team will build a wild,
remote control concept car

that's gonna fight it out
against the others.

We are talking a high-speed,
pedal to the metal,

smash and crash battle
where only one team survives.

And that team automatically
advances into the top two.

- Ooh.
- Okay.

- Will: The brickmasters will
also judge your cars

on aesthetics before
the battle begins

because the most
eye-popping creation

will also earn a spot
in the top two.

So your cars should be both
strong and stylish.

And speaking from experience,
not an easy combo to pull off.

You have six hours to build
your one of a kind whip.

- What?
- Will: You'll be given

a remote control chassis base
to work with.

And at the end of this
challenge, one team

will have to hit the road.

Now, get your brick on.

- Oh, my gosh. Okay, okay.

All right, six hours.
Six hours.

- Did you see their faces?
"six hours?"

- I kind of like
the idea of some sort
of tow truck thing.

- Jacob: Okay.
- So, like, zombies?

- Zombie themed!
- Yeah, zombie themed
muscle car here.

- So whatever we do,
we have to make it strong.

- I really wanna do well.
I don't have to have to use
the golden brick.

We're really embracing
the apocalyptic theme.

Because this is supposed to
be about destruction,

about a gladiator fight
with cars.

You know, how much more
apocalyptic is that?

- Mark: What we're going
with is a muscle car

but we're giving it
zombie, skeleton,

really menacing vibes.

We want it to be really strong.
We want to be a contender.

- Just as many bricks
as we can.

- Caleb: Mark and steven
have consistently been

second or first in so many
of these challenges.

We get an advantage
in the demolition derby.

I'm not sure what it is,
but there's still a chance

to beat 'em up in the derby,
which I'm super excited about.

- Hello.
- Caleb and jacob.

- So, coming off
of your big victory in
the first challenge.

- Caleb: That was--
that was awesome.

We haven't even been
in the top two

for any sort of
challenge yet.

- So, tell us a little bit
about your idea.

- Caleb: We are building
a fierce tow truck.

It's gonna be
covered in chains

and a boulder to swing at
all the competitors.

- Ooh, so you're in for some
serious damage in this one.

You are out to get
the other teams.

This is a different side
to you guys.

- What's giving you
that strength right now?
What are you relying on?

- We got a lot of technic.
- Jamie: Okay, good.

- Yep.
Thickness and weight, too.

There's gonna be a big,
nice battering ram up here.

- Jamie: That's really
great to hear.

Now you're really raising
our expectations.

- Structure, strength.
Structure, strength.

- For this challenge
we are going to focus on

structure first,
aesthetics second.

- Wayne: We're using technic
to create a solid base

because the technic
is the strongest lego parts
you can get your hands on.

- We need to make sure that
we get this long enough.

- Wayne:
We're from california,

so we're making a california
low-rider hot rod.

Crash into us
and let's see what happens.

We want this thing to be tough.

- Genius, genius, genius.
Let's go, let's go.

- Are we gonna have
a pretty enough build?

- Aesthetics and
strength are vital elements

to this challenge
and we want to nail
both of those things.

- Tinker away, my friend.

Our demolition derby vehicle
is gonna be this devil look

with some teeth
going around the sides,

and then a giant engine
to go on the front

with some exhausts
on the side.

I would say
do even more of these.

- Richard:
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- Dave: Make it look
like an engine.

- Richard: Right.

- I'm not really
gonna label these leaves,

what they are,
but they're an angry leaf.

- Jen: Angry leaf,
I like it.

- Susan:
If we're building in green,

I'm kind of thinking
farm and tractor.

We're building a hot rod
monster tractor

with this big engine coming
out of the hood.

We are notorious
for pushing the clock,

so I think we should get
going and hurry.

- Hustle, hustle, hustle.

- Mark: Do we wanna have
light-up headlights or no?

- Oh, yeah.
There's two aspects
to this challenge.

It needs to look nice
and it needs to be strong.

Oh, my word.
How did that happen?

- Mark: You okay, bruh?

- No, I don't like
how they're so weak.

We love our style but we're
starting to find a few hiccups.

Mostly in the strength.

I don't think
that's strong enough.

Mark, we are starting
to get behind schedule, too.

- We're not good with technic,
so we're struggling.

If the strength isn't there.
We could end up as scrap metal.

- We've got to
make it a little stronger.

- Steven, there is no way.

There is no other
connection point that's
going to attach.

- Steven:
See what you can do.

- We're just gonna have to do
the best with what we've got.

There's nothing else we can do.

- No, that's unacceptable.

- You can't
take that apart though.

We don't have enough time.

- Lauren:
That's really strong.

- Hustle, hustle, hustle.

- Amy: They're feeling
the pressure.

- Jamie:
The time goes quickly.

- Steven: That is a good
question, mark.

Do we use the golden brick?

- Mark: Depends on
when we're done.

- Steven: So this challenge
is the demo derby.

This challenge
is a little unique

because there's two ways
to get to the top--

strength and aesthetics.

We've got to make it
a little stronger.

- Steven, there is no way.

There is no other connection
point that's going to attach.

- Our strength is not looking
so spectacular.

- Yeah, I think
we need more zombies.

But now we're thinking,
let's lean towards
the aesthetics.

- Steven:
Oh, that's gonna look sweet.
I love it.

- I think it definitely
has a girly vibe.

- Natalie: It does.

We both have five-year-old
little girls,

and they both love unicorns.

- Michelle: So we're kind of
building with that in mind.

Our car has to be strong,
it has to be fierce,

it has to be
aesthetically pleasing.

- Natalie: We're gonna have,
like, a big unicorn horn

and do pops of bright racing
stripes going down it.

- The girls will be so proud.

I've never fully built
a car before.

It turns.
Oops. Hold on, hold on.

The whole thing just
literally popped off of here.

- The tires,
they are running into that--

is that the bumper?
Is that a wheel well?

I don't know what it is.
But it's bumping into--

- the front bumper part.

- Yeah, it's rubbing up
on something.

- Are those in the way?

- Well, glad we're testing.

- Make sure
you're locking them

so they don't
fall off on the sides.

- Maria: We can fudge it
a little bit.

I think I did it.
Does that work?

We need to include
our personal lives in this.

- We love playing
racing games with the kids.

That's what we're really
going for here.

- Maria: So we're building
a hot rod truck

like something
out of a video game.

It's gonna have tnt boxes
in the back

that we're hoping are gonna be
a nice little distraction

to the other vehicles
out on the derby course.

Why doesn't that fit?
It should fit.

- This guy.
I think this is--

- no, I know, I know.

I just want to make sure
it all snaps together,
which it doesn't!

- You've got three hours
of build time left.

Three hours!

Which reminds me,
time to feed the meter.

[groans]

- susan: Turn it off.
One more time.

It's really
taking too long, jen.
We gotta get moving.

- All right.
Yes, you're right.
You're right.

Totally right.

- Susan: The other teams
have more of a vehicle

and we're making a tractor.

And we're still working on
the inside.

- But that's okay.

We are not
gonna get eliminated

because of a strength issue.

- Yeah, we definitely
need to hustle.

- Okay.
- You say okay, but...

- I'm moving.
- ...You know it's not.

Jen can get hyperfocused
on one individual part
of a build,

so someone has to snap
her out of it.

What can I do to help you
move along quicker?

- Lauren: I think
this looks really nice.

Add some more brown detailing
so you can see it more.

- Dave: Can you spin
the wheels?

- [whirring]

- dave:
It's not bumping anything.

For our hot rod, we want to
make sure that our car

is free of any debris
that could possibly
get in the way with it.

So we purposefully leave
the wheel wells empty,

keeping things
close to the chassis.

So we'll see how it plays
out on the course.

There's nothing putting
friction on anything.

- I like that.

- Take a look at what
I'm looking at, wayne.

We need-- I wanna cover up,
like, all of this.

- Yeah.
- It seems like everyone

is kind of leaving
their wheels bare.

So for our hot rod lowrider,
we're gonna be able

to make a nice skirt to
protect the wheels of the car.

If you hit it, you are the one
who's gonna be taken out.

- Boom.
- Looks good.

Is it off?

- A big rock.

That's what's
gonna give it character.

- I will work on attaching
it more securely.

- Right?
- Caleb: Yes!

- Are you feeling pumped up?
- I am.

- Will: Let's get
pumped up here, man.

- All right,
all right, all right.

- You're gonna get in
a demolition derby!

- Jacob, we're gonna get hyped!

- Let's get pumped up!
- We're pumped up!

- Are we pumped up?
- Yes!

- You're all going down!
- You're all going down!

Especially mark and steven!

- Steven,
are you going to take that?

- Steven: Guys, shout
all you want. We got this.

- Mark: Are you guys messing
with my little brother?

- There we go!
- Yes! Yes, we are!

- Okay!
- You guys are pumped up, right?

- Pumped up!
- Yeah!

- Look at each other.
- Yeah!

- Say, "we're pumped up."

- we're pumped up!
- We're pumped up!

- The rage of the demolition
just comes out.

- Bryan:
Beware of the bull.

- Lauren: Oh, that's good.
I love it.

- You've got one hour left!

- Oh, man.
- Okay, getting down.

Getting down to the wire.

- Susan: It's not enough
time to finish it all.

- I feel like we are just
a tiny bit behind schedule.

This body's taking me a little
longer than I expected.

- Susan: We still don't have
a front fender there.

We are frantically scrambling

to put any last little detail
we can on the outside.

Oh, jeez, there's so much
interior stuff that shows.

- Jen: Oh, my gosh.

- How am I gonna finish
this other side?

This is awful.

- Susan: Oh, my gosh.
That's not enough time
to finish it all.

- Zack: Like, you could put,
like, a trunk.

- Wayne: We don't have
a lot of time for that, zack.

- Zack: Okay, okay.

- So for this challenge
we have to make a car

that's gonna survive
a demolition derby.

- Do we need to test it?
- Yeah.

- Let's do it.
- What a nice little build.

- That's what
I'm talking about, man.

- Drop that sucker.

Oh, look how fast.

Test driving this
car around the work room,

if it comes off
as intimidating, I'm sorry.

- Wayne:
The nice way of putting it

is that we feel confident
in our build

and we're not trying
to hide it from anybody.

- You're getting
pretty good at that.

- Will: One minute!

- Quick, quick,
quick, quick, quick.

- Maria: Don't panic.
- Pedal to the metal.

- Uh-oh, uh-oh.
- Eyeball fell out.

Eyeballs are falling off.

- Lauren: My gosh!

- Mark: That looks good.
That looks good.

That's much better.

- Three, two, one.

Time's up. Bricks down.

- [cheering]
- high-five, come on.

- You made it
to the finish line,

but the race has just begun.

We got a big demolition
derby coming up

where we're gonna find out
which one of you

built the toughest car.

But first, the brickmasters
are gonna look

at all your rides to determine
who's taking the fast lane

into the top two
based on the aesthetic.

Now before we do that,
mark and steven,

last week you won
the golden brick,

that very special brick
that provides immunity

and protects you from
elimination for one challenge

if you choose to use it.

How do you feel
about your build today?

- Pretty solid. Feeling good.
We'll keep it.

- You have chosen
to keep the golden brick,

and that means you could be
eliminated today.

And if you end up
in the bottom two,

I take the golden brick
and it goes back into play.

- Are you sure about this?
- Positive.

- All right. I hope you made
the right decision.

- Wayne: I do still
have some feelings

about mark and steven
getting the golden brick
from us, right?

So we might find a way
to beeline straight for them

in the demolition derby.

- Okay, teams,
let's see what you got.

Zack and wayne, you're up.

- Wayne: Start your engines.

The purple punisher
has arrived.

Do you like
its hot rod flames?

Down to the ground stance?

How about its hustle
and muscle?

It's the creme de la creme
of muscle cars.

There's no limit to
the punishment this car
can give and take.

- Jamie: One of the first
things that I notice

is that you went beyond
your wheels.

You've actually protected them
and encased them.

Those are fake wheels
out there.

It's a really bold
and fun approach.

It does allow you
to have more mass.

You also have a bit
of a lower weight.

I expect this to be quite
strong in the arena
depending on who's driving.

I don't know how you guys
are doing that.

- This guy.
I'm a terrible driver.

- Will: Great job.
Thank you, zack and wayne.

Dave and richard,
you're up.

- Richard:
The demolition derby is on,

and the rad devil
is coming through.

It's got horns,
a fire-spitting engine,
and an attitude.

You've never seen a hot rod
with such style and power.

- What I love the most
about this car

is that you can't really tell
where the character ends

and the car begins because
you've marriaged them so well.

- I'm a little bit curious.
It looks like you're using,

like, finer features
around the edging.

I don't know if you have
a secret weapon there
and how strong it is.

- Dave: One of the things
that I was thinking about

is making sure that
the wheels were uncovered

because I don't want anything
to get jammed in there

that's gonna make it
non-operational.

- Great job, dave and richard.
Thanks guys.

Mark and steven, you're up.

- Zack and wayne are
basically known

for their technic skills
and their ability

to build things strong.

So our strategy was to beat
them out in aesthetics.

- But if we end up
in that bottom two,

that golden brick disappears.

- Steven: This challenge
is a little unique

because there's two ways
to get to the top,

strength and aesthetics.

If we end up
in that bottom two,

that golden brick disappears.

Start your engines.
The toxic titan has arrived.

It's got teeth,
skeletons, slime,

and super-reinforced
side panels

that are designed to bash
the competition.

- It's really fun and playful
to see characters all over.

Love the little
zombie guys coming out,
the little skeletons.

- You guys make it
feel like the car itself

has gone through
the zombie apocalypse

and has all this green slime
dripping down.

And then you have some
fabulous details

with the spikes
all the way down the back.

- Will: Thank you,
mark and steven.

Susan and jen, you're up.

- Jen: This is our build,
muscle sprouts.

During the week,
he's just this, you know,

antique tractor
taking care of his farm.

But on the weekends,
he lets his engine out

and it's got exhaust pipes
coming out the side and flames.

- What I really love about
this is it looks like

you've taken something right
out of a kids' toy box.

- I love that you added those
blades on either side.

It's a really nice
aggressive stance.

I do actually wonder how strong
those are gonna be though.

They look great visually,
but I would be surprised

if those didn't
come off fairly early.

- Thank you.
- Maria and phillip,
you're next.

- Phillip: Start your engines.

The big blue beast
has arrived.

- Maria: Do you like
electric blue cars

that weigh a metric ton?

How about explosive tnt?

- Those tnt boxes in the back,

we want them to dislodge
so that they'll be behind us

and leave, like, potential
road hazards for other teams.

- I love that you guys
brought the story aspect

to this and brought video gaming
into it with the tnt.

It's really fun and maybe
gives some of the other teams

something to fear
on the course.

- Thank you.
- Lauren and bryan,
you're up.

- Bryan: Here we have
beware the bull.

We were really inspired by
spanish matadors.

We also created fenders
in the front and back

to kind of add a little bit
of extra balance

that will hopefully save
our car during the big derby.

- Looks like you really
grabbed this challenge
by the horn.

Good for you.

- I think it's really fun,
the approach that you took,

this raging bull
coming at you.

And I think that the way
that you have the horns
is also very menacing.

I am a little bit curious
to see how it holds up.

Having those horns, you could
get caught up on something.

And I'm just wondering
how long it's going to last.

- Will: Caleb and jacob.

- Winning the memory challenge

with our lambo model
is such a boost.

We have an advantage
coming our way.

- Jacob: We got here
the cute sunshine wagon.

You can see we got our
little sun in the front.

Alex, the driver, has been
helping the community for years.

- No, no.
You got this all wrong.

Angry alex
is a cold-blooded killer.

And instead of helping people
out of terrible situations,

he's now bringing them into
those same terrible situations.

- The fact that you've got
this swinging wrecking ball

on the back and you've got
the playful sunshine,

it's just really silly details
that I think are really fun.

But I do wonder
about the build.

This looks like it's going to
be wonderful to see

in the demolition derby
because I see lots of parts

that are just ready
to jump off.

- Michelle and natalie,
you're up.

- Natalie: Have no fear,
fear the horn is here.

It's a whimsical speedster
with racing stripes

wings, and a blue flame
shooting unicorn horn.

The extra-wide front bumper
is a built-in battering ram

to take out
anyone in its wake.

- It's a very beautiful
build for a demolition,
which is surprising.

- I don't think we ever
expected to see a unicorn.

But it is a bold and fierce
and strong animal,
so a great inspiration.

And overall, I think it's
a really fun and playful build.

- Great job,
michelle and natalie.

All right,
amazing builds, everybody.

So based on aesthetics alone,

one team is advancing into
the top two right now.

Brickmasters?

- The team that had
the strongest aesthetics...

...Were mark and steven.

- Mark: We decided
to lean on the aesthetics,

and our big gamble paid off.

We made the best looking
car here.

We still got that golden brick.
We're feeling really good.

- The rest of you,
that means in order to end up

in the top two right now,

you gotta win
the demolition derby.

And if you don't,
there's a chance you'll end up

in the bottom two, which means
you could be eliminated.

The lego demolition derby
is about to begin.

Welcome to the lego
demolition derby race, fans.

Okay, how is everybody feeling?
Are you ready?

- [cheering]
- yeah!

All right,
now, when I say go,

everyone will pick up
the remotes and begin.

If brickmaster jamie feels
you've taken too much damage

or can no longer move,
he will raise his black flag.

That means you are out.

And be careful, there are
openings at the end of each
demolition derby pit

where you can be pushed out.

The last team standing
moves on to the top two.

Okay, now, way back
in the beginning of the show
we did a memory build.

Caleb and jacob
won an advantage.

Do you wanna know what it is?

- Sure. Yeah!
- Desperately.
Of course you do.

Okay, so by winning
the memory build,

you earned yourself
30 seconds of safety.

When I say go,
everyone else begins.

You get to watch on
the sidelines for 30 seconds
before joining the battle.

- Oh.
- Very nice.

- Caleb: This is great.

We're hoping that some
of the other teams

are gonna take each other out
in this 30 seconds

and we can just
clean up the wreckage.

- So, on my call
the demolition derby begins.

Ready?

Set.

Go!

All right, here we go.

There's a three-way,
four-way,

five-car pileup in the middle.

- Already got some crashing.

- Will: Michelle and natalie
already lost its unicorn.

Now it's just a corn.

- Some are hungry
for the kill here.

- Oh, no. Oh, no.

- Apparently the big blue beast
was a big blue target,

and everybody runs right into me
at the exact same time.

- The blue model's stuck.

- Maria: We got stuck on
one of our broken lego pieces.

- Will: I love the strategy
of michelle and natalie's
fear the horn.

Hanging out on the outskirts.

- If somebody wants to come
after me, that's fine.

I'll run away.

- Will: Big blue is unstuck!

- Yes! Whoo!

- Will: And they crashed.

Maria and phillip's
big blue beast
smashed against the wall

with tnt spilling out
all across the arena floor.

- Oh, the tnt is out!
- Oh, yeah!

- Jamie:
Watch out for the tnt.

- Will: Susan and jen's
muscle sprouts

tearing off the side
of toxic titan.

- We're losing a few pieces.
- We're driving over debris.

- There's lots of debris
on the floor.

- One of our fenders
broke right off though.

It's kind of like, "aah!"

- will: Okay-- oh! Oh!

- I think we may have
the weakest car here.

- Caleb: Are you guys ready
for the sunshine wagon?

No. No, you're not.

- Will: Caleb has been
waiting for this.

Finally, a chance to show
everyone looks can be deceiving.

He's a stone-cold killer and
this is his time to shine.

- Caleb, 30 seconds is up.

Caleb and jacob, you're in!

- Will: Oh, my god, no!

- Drove straight off.

- Um...

Yeah.

Yes, apparently that happened.

- What was that?
- Caleb: I'm sorry.

- That was insane.
He drove straight off!

There goes caleb and jacob's
sunshine wagon

setting in the west
and making

a thelma and louise exit
into the chasm below,

never to be seen again.

- What was that?
- I'm sorry.

- Natalie: They built this
beautiful thing

and got this
30-second advantage.

It misses everybody.
It just goes...

- Caleb and jacob,
you're out.

- Ugh.
- Will: Uh-oh. Bam!

Oh, there's zack and wayne's
purple punisher taking it

to mark and steven's
the toxic titan.

Now stuck, it looks like zack
and wayne's are just not--

oh, boom!
There they go again.

- Oh, good grief.
- Wayne: I'm very pleased.

We built a tank,

and it is tanking very well.

- The punisher is punishing.
- Oh, my goodness.

- The whole top is coming off.

- Will: The toxic titan
looks like it's down,

heading to the toxic dump.

- Those skeletons are
not gonna make it through.

- Will: Zack and wayne's
purple punisher

taking it to susan and jen's
muscle sprouts and losing it.

Oh, wow. There goes
the punisher again,

and now the field
is dwindling fast.

- Mark and steven,
you're out.

- Ah!

- Lauren and bryan.

Maria, phillip.
Jen and susan are out.

- Will: Susan and jen are out.
They stalled out.

Uh-oh, look at that.

Michelle and natalie's
unicorn taking the bull on.

Mess with unicorn,
you get the horn.

- The unicorn is separating.

- Going in for the kill.
Going in for the kill.

- Jamie: Oh!
He's bringing the speed.

White team,
michelle and natalie.

- Okay, there are only
two teams left on the course.

- Amy: Oh!

Wow, head to head.

- Will: Zack and wayne
making a move

to get away
from the rad devil

who keeps pounding its door.

- Zack: Wayne, wayne,
not over the tire.

Not over the tire, wayne!

- Will: Oh, no,
it rolled over a tire?

- No!

- Oh!

- Will: Not a good
position to be in.

Zack and wayne look to be
completely trapped
on that tire.

So it's only red and purple.

- Oh, red's lining up,
taking the time.

- Will: This could be it.

Here comes red, sizing him up.

Here they go! And boom!

Well, that was a bit
anticlimactic,

but, uh, red is the winner.

Dave and richard,
rad devil's done it!

- You played smart.
- Slow and steady.

- Will: Not what I predicted.
- Very little damage.

- Wow, congratulations,
david and richard,

you've won
the lego demolition derby.

Your prize for winning?
You're in the top two.

- That's right.
- Will: That's pretty awesome.

Now it's time to get ready
for the final judging.

- Caleb: We were in
an awesome place

to get another spot
in the top two.

We could have won this thing.

I more or less secured a spot
for us in the bottom two.

- Okay, so today
we destroyed this place.

First I did it
by knocking over my build

and asking you
to rebuild it from memory.

Then it was your turn,
building concept cars

that we smashed into pieces
in our demolition derby.

Mark and steven's car
won the title of
brickmasters' favorite

based on aesthetics,
which means they are
in the top two.

And dave and richard's car won
the demolition derby,

which means they are also
in top two.

So, brickmasters, which team
wowed you most this week?

- Jamie: So,
both teams really kept us

on the edge of our seats
through this entire demolition.

Mark and steven,
you guys clearly had

a gorgeous aesthetic
that captured our eye.

Dave and richard, you had more
of that subtle strength
that we weren't expecting.

So the one that really
impressed us...

Dave and richard.
Really well done.

- Richard: It's exhilarating
to get our second wind.

- Dave: Our strategy
worked perfectly.

It was able to take hits
and it looked good doing it.

- Will: Okay, as you know,

we do have to send
one team home today.

To arrive at the bottom two,

the brickmasters reviewed
your builds before the derby

and factored in their
performance in the arena.

Amy, please give me the names

of the bottom two teams.

- The teams in
the bottom two today

are caleb and jacob

and susan and jen.

- Caleb and jacob, you never
cease to surprise us.

I just want you to know
that you're not here

necessarily because
of your driving skills,

but it's because
we didn't actually get to see
your strength skills

in the arena, and that was
really disappointing.

- Susan and jen, you gave us
a nice overall vehicle

but it was lacking some of
the details and story touches

that we saw in
the other teams' builds.

Also, some of the coolest
parts of your build,

that were those forks on
the front and the back,

were destroyed really
quickly in the derby,

leaving a more basic build.

- Unfortunately,
we have to say good-bye
to one team.

Amy, who's going home?

- The team that we have
to say good-bye to today...

...Is susan and jen.

You guys should be really
proud of the journey

you've been on
in this competition.

We've seen you growing
with every challenge
that you have.

We've seen you come
together as a team.

And I think you've
really shown people

what you can do
and what amazing creations

you can build from lego,

so you should be super proud
of what you've achieved.

- Thank you.
We will never forget this.

- Never. Ever.

- We will be lego friends
for life.

- Oh, yeah. Totally.

- Sorry to say,
your lego adventure ends here.

Please turn in your minifigs
and say good-bye.

- Good job, guys.

- Playing in this
brick pit with everyone

has just been great fun.

I'm so grateful
that we got to be part

this lego masters family.

- I feel really great
about our accomplishments.

Every challenge,
we have grown and improved.

- This has been
just absolutely amazing.

I'm going home happy.

- Caleb,
how you feeling right now?

- You okay?
- It's hard.

These people,
they're like my family.

And-- I'm sorry.

- Will: You're building
and you're all trying to win
this competition,

but you're also kind of
building together,

and I'm really sensing
this community here

and friendship,
and it's really nice.

That's a great sentiment.

- Will: Next week...

We're gonna turn up the wind
to 60 miles per hour.

- What?
- Oh, my gosh.

- Lego bricks
are not meant to withstand
60 mile per hour winds.

- What do you think?
Stronger than caleb and jacob?

- We don't make such
tragic mistakes that they do.

- Wow!
- Driving off a cliff?

- Get out of here.

- Zack: I don't think
this thing is strong enough,

and so we're going to
rebuild it.

- That's gonna fall off.

- Say hello to my little fan.

[all shouting]
