Heartland (2007–…): Season 13, Episode 6 - A Time to Remember - full transcript

Georgie's graduation has finally arrived but so has a mysterious figure from her past.

Previously on "Heartland"...

Seriously, Mom,
can we cool it with the college talk.

Can't you just give me time
to make my own decisions

about my own life.

No, Georgie because time is up.

You know,
now we're all sitting around here

I think it's a great time
to talk about business.

I'm game as long as it has nothing to do

with expanding the herd.

There is an injured horse out there!

- Which one?
- Shooting Star.

She seemed fine in the paddock.

She has a stress
fracture in her left fetlock.

You gotta trust me.

What do we call this place?

How about Aspen Grove Ranch.

What do you think?
How is our Shooting Star?

Well, she feels really smooth.

- Yeah?
- Yeah.

And Ty says that her scan looks good.

So are you gonna put
her back on the track?

I actually have something
else in mind for her.

I want to expand the stable
to include hunter/jumpers.

Do you think that she
could make that transition?

Yeah. It's possible.

It all depends on her temperament

and her ability to jump of course.

Of course.

Uh, I wanna give it a shot.

Would you...

would you be game to retrain her?

- Yeah. Absolutely.
- Yeah?

- Yeah.
- When?

Uh... I could start right now.

Lyndy's with Lou,

and Ty is volunteering
at Luke's nature camp.

Aww. Okay.

Well, go for it.

Gosh, I wish I could stay and watch that

I've gotta go and show
a stud horse to big wig

from Wellington, Florida.

- Oh, Wellington.
- Yeah, Yeah.

He owns a complex the
size of Spruce Meadows.

- Oh well, good luck.
- Thank you.

Okay.
Looks like they want all the parents

to meet in Hudson park

30 minutes before the ceremony.

I can't believe she's graduating.

I know.

It feels like just yesterday
we adopted Georgie.

- Best decision we ever made.
- Hm.

- What an adventure, huh?
- Yeah, the trick riding...

Showjumping...

Running away to your place in Vancouver

without telling us.

Teenage years, huh?

Soon we get to go through it
all over again with Katie.

- Hey, Mitch.
- Hi.

I was just about to shove off.

Hey, you know what?
Why don't you just stay here?

- Luke's room is empty.
- Yeah?

- Yeah. No worries.
- Oh, amazing. Thanks.

- How are you?
- Just really good.

Really good.

I'm so sorry I've been so busy.

Oh, hey, your daughter is
about to graduate high school.

I get it.

Why don't I make it up to you.

Let's go out for dinner tomorrow night,

just the two of us.

Hmm. Also, we might have
something else to celebrate.

Oh yeah?

Yes, there's a herd of grade-A,

grass-fed cow for sale.

It's exactly what we need
to sell Garland more beef.

- That is great.
- Mhmm.

But you still have the same problem?

Yeah. Jack.

But it's okay.
I'm working on my sales pitch

- Good.
- Yeah.

I'm just gonna say listen...

- There you are!
- Jack.

Why are you looking at me like that?

I-I-I realized that I was,

I was supposed to meet up with you.

That's right.
We need your help in the field.

- So let's get at it.
- You bet.

I'm gonna do it... I'll do it later.

You must be Clyde McGregor.

Oh. Oh, sorry, I thought you were...

Older. Yeah, he definitely is.

My dad, Clyde.

But he couldn't make it
so you're stuck with me.

- Ah.
- I'm Quinn.

Well, it's nice to meet you, Quinn.

Don't worry.

I got my dad's blessing
to buy this stud,

and I gotta say, I like what I see...

deep chest, lean body,
nice long flat muscles.

It's everything we look for in a sire.

Thank you for coming
all this way to see him.

No problem. Truth is,

is I got some other business
to attend to anyway so.

Here in Hudson? Really?

Are you-are you looking to
buy horses from someone else?

No. Nothing like that.

There is this girl...

and uh, I'm kinda hoping
we can get reacquainted.

- Good luck with that.
- Thank you.

Hey. You're still working on
your valedictorian speech?

Yeah. He's totally obsessed.

Every time I think I'm done,

something else pops into my head.

Now it's just a bloated,
jumbled up mess of words.

I'm going to bomb
and all those colleges

are gonna pull their scholarship offers.

Pretty sure that's impossible.

Besides you're gonna rock the speech.

Yeah, dude, you're gonna kill it.

And then you're gonna go off
to your university of choice.

For another ten years of schooling...

which,
I still think is crazy by the way.

Yeah, you keep saying.

Ahh. I'm so pumped to be on the road.

Are you guys are still down to go

on the first leg of the tour?

As long as I don't implode on stage.

Okay. Whatever. We're in.
Yellowstone's gonna be awesome.

Maybe you guys should
like spend more time

on the road with me...

like the whole summer...

Or maybe forever if I
don't get into Mount Royal.

You will. You'll get in.

I don't know.
Olivia's already got accepted.

But she applied a long time ago

Yeah. Why did I wait so long?

It's like everyone is moving
on to their next big thing

and I'm left in the dust.

I'm just going on a trip.

Yeah, but least you have a plan.

What do I have? Nothing.

So how did it go with Grandpa?

You talk to him, right?

- Uh, no. No.
- What? You chickened out?

I-I-I didn't chicken out, all right?
I'm just...

I-I'm waiting for the opportune time.

If that herd is as
good as you say it is,

it won't be around for long.

I know.

There is actually people
looking at it right now.

You gotta go for it.
I mean, no risk, no reward.

- Lou, I've-I've tried that.
- I get it.

I know how hard it is to
have business partners

especially when they're as
stubborn as my dad and grandpa.

But putting off this
conversation could cost you

an incredible opportunity.

Yeah. You're right.
I gotta act on this right now.

- Yeah.
- Thanks.

You've done an amazing
job with this place.

Oh. Well, I can't take all the credit.

Fairfield's been in my
family for a very long time.

And it's nothing compared
to your operation.

Well, maybe it's not as big,

but there's a real sense of class here.

Thank you.

That means a lot, coming from you.

Wow.

- What a beautiful horse.
- Yeah, she is.

Her name's Shooting Star,
and she's a race horse,

but I'm hoping that granddaughter, Amy,

can retrain her as a jumper.

- Hi, Amy.
- Hi.

- Quinn McGregor.
- Oh. Ah...

you're the guy from Florida?

No, I'm-I'm that guy's son.

So, this horse is gonna be a jumper?

Well, that's the plan.

But she's not so great
at taking direction.

A little hard on the mouth,

but we're working thought it.

Well, I'd love to see how
you make that transition.

Must be quite the process.

Yeah. Well, you're welcome
to watch me work if you want.

- Yeah, I'd love that.
- Okay.

Come on, Star.

- Hey.
- You scared me.

What are you doing here?

My mom's new boyfriend just moved in...

with his tween daughter.

I had to escape for a few hours.

Could have called.

Yeah. Yeah, I will next time.

So what the deal with
the after-party tomorrow?

There isn't one.

What?

Probably just gonna do
something with Adam and Wyatt...

- go to Maggie's.
- That so lame.

After my grad we had this huge rager.

It was awesome! Everyone was there.

It's not that big a deal to me.

- Okay.
- All right.

Good job.

There you go. Get over here.

Oh, nice of you to come back.
We're done.

Oh. Sorry about that.

Um... listen, I uh...

actually I was hoping to talk
to you guys about something?

Oh, let me guess, you jumped the gun

and asked someone else to marry you.

No... why...

why would you...?

Uh, no. It's-it's about a herd,
actually, for sale...

Ah, Mitch. C'mon.

Jack, just hear me out on this one,
all right?

No, I've made my feeling
pretty clear on expansion.

I know. And... you're concerned about

maintaining the level of quality,

but this herd is grass fed,
it's grade-A quality.

You know, I don't care what they are,

we don't have the room.

You know,
we can keep them in the property

- that I just bought.
- No, that's too far away.

I wanna check on them every day.

Okay, listen, Jack, I hear you, okay?

I understand your concerns on this,

but this-this is an opportunity,

a rare opportunity that I
think we need to jump on.

Mitch, I'm sorry,

but I'm done talking about this.

I've said no, I'm still saying no,

and it'll continue to be
no as long as I have a say.

So please just quit asking.

Wait. Well, what if I just
bought the herd by myself then?

What do you mean by that?

No risk, no reward, right?

What exactly are you saying?

I guess what I'm saying...

it's been amazing being in
business with you, guys, but...

I gotta do this.

I'm buying the herd.

Hey, you talk to Grandpa?

- Yes, I did.
- Oh my God, he went for it?

No he didn't. He hated it actually.

But it-it's okay because
the advice you gave me

- was swirling around in my head.
- What advice?

Oh, you know,

you told me about
ceasing the opportunity

and taking risks.
So I just kind of blurted out,

"Well, fine then,
I'll buy the herd myself".

- What?
- I know. It's a little crazy.

But I-I think it's gonna work.

You know, I can get a bank loan,

who can't get a bank loan.

And then I can keep the herd
on our land at Aspen Gove.

But that's supposed to
be our vacation property.

You're not gonna move
out there full-time?

All right,
there's still a couple details

that need to be ironed out, but...

I feel good about this.

Thank you for giving me the push.

I thought I saw a light on out here.

Yeah, just struggling to get to sleep.

- Big day tomorrow.
- Yeah.

Well, I can't believe you're graduating.

Do you remember the first
day you showed up here?

Now I can't imagine you anywhere else.

Yeah.

I just keep thinking about what's next.

- What might that be?
- I don't know.

That's the problem. School's over,

and I have no idea what happens now.

I'm sure that university,

they'll get back to you any day now.

Yeah. But... what if I don't get in?

You know,

sometimes even when you think
you've got it all planned out

you don't really have a clue.

When I was your age, a bit older maybe,

I hit the road.

I put this place in my rear view mirror,

and I wasn't ever coming back.

Then well...

my sister...

I know,

Amy told me what her.

Well, that changed everything.

It led me right back here.

It's not how I had it mapped out,

but I ended up exactly
where I was supposed to be.

So maybe...

enjoy this big accomplishment now

because tomorrow is always coming,

and when it does...

you'll end up right where
you're supposed to be too.

I'm proud of you.

Thanks, Jack.

- Good night.
- Good night.

- Hey.
- Hey, Dad.

Hi.

- You made it!
- Barely.

- Ah, look who's here!
- Hi Ty.

One of the other parents
is covering for me.

So I'm gonna drive back
after the ceremony.

Okay.

Hey, guess who's taking
her man for a very special

dinner tonight? New Indian place.

Uh, just a heads up
he can't handle the spice he's...

Actually,
Jen's introduced me to chicken masala

I'm kinda developing
a little taste for it.

I just have to be ready with a napkin

to dab the sweat off his forehead.

- Is Mitch coming?
- Oh, yeah, of course.

He'll be here any minute.

Great.

And now our graduates!

Woo!

Dude. Calm down, it's fine.

I didn't even had a chance to practice

I was up all night rewriting it.

You only have one chance at
the valedictorian speech.

Just breathe, okay?

When I first met you I thought you were

this know-it-all brainiac,
which you kinda were.

But then,
once I got to know the real you

I realized that even
with all those brain

you've got an even bigger heart...

Stop.
I see the way this plays out in movies.

You're just gonna tell
me to toss my speech

- and to speak from the heart...
- Oh no. Don't.

Don't do that. Okay?

What I'm saying is that you
aren't capable of writing

anything less than a brilliant speech.

So just stick to what you've got

and just get up there and do it.

Before I wrap up,

I'll leave you with a quote...

"We can only survive if we
have obstacles to overcome.

If you remove those obstacles,

without them to strengthen us,

we will weaken and die."

Okay, maybe that was a bit over the top,

but hey,
Captain Kirk often spoke in hyperbole.

But here's the most important
thing about obstacles.

They aren't meant to be tackled alone.

The people who had your back

throughout these high school years...

I mean, those friends who pushed you out

of your comfort zone,

and forced you to do all
kinds of crazy stuff.

And made you laugh so hard

that you thought your
head might explode.

But then they could pull you in.

When you needed to know that
you weren't alone in this world.

These are the people who will
help you obliterate any obstacle

like a photon torpedo taking
down a Klingon bird of prey.

Congratulations.

So keep those bonds tight...

because together, class of Hudson High,

we will live long and prosper.

Oh guys, I will be right back, okay?

- I'm so proud of you.
- Thank you.

- We did it!
- Thanks.

- All that hard work.
- Thank you so much.

- Ty! Oh my gosh!
- Hey!

- Thank you so much for coming.
- Oh, I wouldn't miss it.

Congratulations, Georgie.

Quinn!?

What are you doing here?

- You two know each other?
- Wait, you know Quinn?

Yeah, I'm in town to do some
family business at Fairfield.

So you know him too then?

I do, as of yesterday.

Are you guys all related or something?

- Yeah. We are.
- Yeah.

I knew Hudson was small,
but this is crazy.

Um, sorry,
how do you two know each other?

Ah, we-we met at Euro camp.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean
to cause all the confusion.

I just... I was in town,

and thought I'd come
by and surprise you.

- Say congratulations.
- Thanks.

All right. Um...

I'll leave you...

I'll leave you to it.

Uh, it's really nice to see you again.

Oh Georgie, um, so sorry,
but I can't come tonight.

I...

I have a hot date so. Bye.

Okay, bye.

What is she talking about?
Where can't she go?

You are throwing an epic grad party!

- I invited your whole grade.
- What!?

Don't worry, I'm gonna help you make it

- the best shaker ever.
- I don't think so.

Why not? You have your own place.

And we do only graduate
high school once.

You're okay with this?

I don't know if it's
the adrenaline talking,

or that I won't have to see Olivia,

but I think we should celebrate.

Okay. Fine. I'll talk to my parents.

But you have to help me clean up,
before and after.

Okay. One more for the books.

Oh, hey yo. What's up?

I have to say,
I'm really impressed by your courage

to take on a new herd.
I mean, congratulations, man.

Yeah. Thanks. Thank you.

I gotta be honest with you,
it's a little scary,

you know just jumping in this thing.

Well, maybe I can help you out there.

What do you mean?

Like I say, I admire your ambition,

and I've always enjoyed doing
business with you. So...

maybe we should talk about
getting your new product

in my stores.

Wow, I... that'd be great.

Um, I just-I wonder how this
is gonna affect your deal

with Heartland though?

Look, you know I've been
looking for a way to get

new organic beef in my stores.

And, and maybe you can
help me fill that void.

He didn't waste any time.

I'm getting out of this dress.

- So... that guy...?
- Mom!

What?
I know it's none of our business...

- it's just...
- We just... how old is he?

- 21.
- 21?!

There's nothing going on between us.

But there was?

I have something
else to about anyways.

Jade told everyone at school
that I'm throwing a party

in the loft tonight.

Well, would have been nice
to get a bit more notice.

Yeah. That's what I said.
So I'm just gonna make sure

that everything stays under control.

Okay. Well, Grandpa is only
gonna be 100 yards away...

- watching.
- Great.

Yeah. We tryst you, Sweetheart.

We gotta find out more about this guy.

Lou, did your boyfriend
tell you what he's up to?

That he bought his own herd?
Yes. I know.

He's already talking to Garland.

- What?
- Yeah, we were leaving town

we saw them together on the sidewalk...
talking.

Kinda sounds like he's
trying to poach our client.

That is not true.

Okay. Look, this is gonna
work out better for everyone.

You have one less partner
to share your profits with.

Well, it's not about the money.

Really?

We were supposed to be in this together.

You know what?
I'm not gonna get in the middle!

You can talk to Mitch.

You're all big boys.

Easy. Easy. Easy.

Pick up your feet, come on!

She's going to need a lot of work, huh?

Oh yeah, she's pretty high strung.

I'm just having a hard time
keeping her under control.

That's the racehorse in her, eh?

Yeah.
She-she comes up, and just over-jumps,

and then takes off like a shot.

You know, I'm still interested
to see how this works out.

Are you?

Because I have to admit,
I'm starting to think that

maybe you're just hanging around here

to get to someone else.

I did not connect the dots

between you, Lisa to Georgie. Honestly.

You know, Quinn,

I-I know what it's
like to be on the road

how close you get with
the people you're around.

And then how tough it is
when you have to leave.

I don't think you're
here for Lisa's stud,

or to watch me retrain a
race horse to be a jumper.

I think you're here for Georgie.

Why can't it be all three?

Where were you?

You missed Georgie's grad?
I know. I'm sorry.

The stuff at the bank went
longer then I thought.

And then you met with Garland?

Yeah. How did...

how did you know about that?

Because Dad and Grandpa saw you.

Ugh... gees.

What's going on?

Um...

uh, sorry.

Hello.

Yeah. Hi.

Tonight? Um...

yeah. Yeah. Great. Tonight's...

tonight's perfect.

I'll see you then.

Bye.

We're supposed to go for dinner.

- Are you bailing on me again?
- I know, it was Garland.

He wants to talk about a contract.
I'm sorry.

It's okay. I... I get it.

I'll fill you in when I get back,
I promise.

- Okay.
- Thank you.

I'm sorry.

My parents
agreed to a small party.

This place is packed!
Okay, you need to chill out.

Join the party, okay?

Come on.

I thought we agreed

we weren't gonna do this kind of thing,
Quinn.

How could you just show up here?

I just wanna talk to you,

and you've been totally ghosting me, so.

I mean, what's a guy gotta do?

How about follow the
rules that we agreed to.

We had...

whatever it was that we had in Europe.

But you live in Florida.

And I told you I...

I can't do the whole
long distance thing.

True.

But I am standing right here.

Very funny.

But soon you won't be.

So what's the point?

we gonna have some fun

All right, everybody, listen up!

Congratulations on
your graduation today.

There is no doubt you all have
a bright future ahead of you...

so long as you don't go and
mess it up here tonight.

You all have fun now.

- Um, thanks.
- Thanks.

Great.

Well,
how is it going up there in the loft?

Oh, I think I made my point.

Was he there? That Quinn guy?

I don't think... well, I didn't see him.

Is there something going
on with him and Georgie?

That's what I'd like to know.

Well, I have spent some
time with him at Lisa's

and I have to say he
is quite the charmer.

Oh yes.

Enough about him. How is my horse?

How are we doing with Star?

Might have started jumping too quickly.

I'm just looking
through my mom's journal

to see if there is a way to
take it back a little bit.

Just teach her some patience first.

- She's rushing?
- Yeah.

She might not be suited to jumping.

Not all race horses can do it,

some just have too much fire.

Well, hopefully you can
douse her a little bit.

See if you can douse
some of Quinn's fire

while you're at it.

Nice of Jack to drop by.

Yeah, I'm just happy he didn't show up

with his hunting rifle
slung over his shoulder.

Yeah, but he wasn't the
only one to crash our party.

Who was that weird dude?

Uh, he's just a showjumper.

I met him at camp. He lives in Florida.

Oh yeah.
Wh-why is he all the way up here then?

I didn't know why he came.

Huh. Were you guys uh, like...

No, it wasn't worth mentioning.

Okay. So why-why-why was he here?

Okay, guys,
this party's on life support.

Get out there and dance!

Go. Go. You too. Go!

All right is everybody having fun?

Is everybody having fun?!

All right!

Party is still rocking out there, huh?

Oh my gosh, it sure is.

It's killing me not going
over there and looking.

Um... how was your chicken masala?

Uh, to be honest?

My mouth is still on fire.

I knew it.

You haven't really acquired a taste.

More of a tolerance.

Indian is her favorite though,
so what you gonna go?

Well,
at least she showed up for your date.

No! What? Mitch stood you up?

Hm. Second time today.

What's all that about?

Oh, it's nothing. He's just busy.

He bought his own herd.

- Whoa.
- Yeah.

Wow. Where's he gonna keep them?

Um, we bought a ranch.

It just supposed to be a vacation spot.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

You guys bought a place together.

Yeah. We just kinda went for it.

Wow. I'm-I'm very happy

that everything is
working out for you guys.

Thank you.

I'm really happy for
you and Jen as well.

Thank you.

Um, I'm exhausted.
I'm gonna hit the hay.

- Big day.
- Yeah, it was.

- Okay.
- All right.

Good night.

Do you remember dancing
to this in Brussels?

Yes,
and that's exactly why you played it,

isn't it?

Really? Maybe?

In that case...

may I have this dance?

- Oh my God...
- Whoa...

Okay.

That was totally offside.

Why?
That's-that's no different than Europe?

This isn't Europe. This is real life.

And I'm having a hard enough
time trying to figure out

what that looks like right now.

High school is over,
I'm not jumping any more,

- I don't have a coach...
- Wait, what?

What do you mean you're
not jumping anymore?

I'm taking a break.

It was getting too consuming.

I uh... I don't understand, Georgie.

You... you're one of the most
talented jumpers I've ever met.

You can stop laying it on so thick.

No, no. I'm... I'm serious.

You're an incredible jumper.

And you're an incredible person.

That's why I'm here.

Then you've wasted your time.

It was hard enough saying
good bye the first time.

All right.

- Hey stranger.
- Hey. I'm so sorry.

Ah... listen about yesterday, I just...

I've been going crazy, you know.

Garland's been really pushing me.
It's just been a lot.

What does he want?

He wants to sell Aspen Grove Beef.

What about Heartland beef?

He said he's gonna sell it too.

Agh!

This is bad, I know it's bad.

I gotta fix this with Jack and Tim.

Are they around? Do you know?

No. They're in the field.

Okay. Great. Thanks.

Jade.

Jade, wake up.

Okay.

Ugh. I'm getting up.

Wait a minute,
I'm having a total flashback

- who was that dude?
- No one.

Okay.
Well, you guys were all over each other

Can we please just clean up?

How about I make you a deal.

I'll clean this entire place...

I am not talking about that guy.

I-I'm not going there. Yet.

But...

how about I stay with you for a while.

- As a roommate?
- Yeah.

Then I won't have to stay with my mom

and her boyfriend and
his crazy daughter.

And what will I get out of this?

Me.

I think you could use someone to inject

a little fun in your life.

Like this is-this is awesome.

I'm gonna go get my stuff.
This is gonna be great.

- You said you'd clean up!
- Mhmm.

Oh, look who it is,
Mr. Aspen Grove Beef.

- I came to clear the air.
- You came to clear the air?

What? Over the mess you left us in,
by bailing on us?

Or about the part where
you chased down our client,

Garland, outside of Maggie's?
'Cause that's pathetic.

- Okay. Easy, Tim...
- Oh, you're the one

that tried to convince
me to bring into the fold

because he was like family.

Is this how you treat family, Mitch?

- By stabbing them in the back?
- That's not what I'm doing.

Well, it looks like it to me.

What were are you thinking, huh?

We're the once that gave
you your first chance.

I know. I know.

I'm the one that wants to put
the herds together, rem...

Look, maybe we can still team up...

No. No. No.

You made the choice, you're on your own.

Sorry, buddy.

You think you can compete with us?

With the experience we have
in the cattle business,

I don't think so.

I think, I really like our chances.

Dismissed.

Was that really necessary?

It wouldn't have been,

if you had let us buy that
herd in the first place.

Hey guys.

Hi.

Sorry if the party got a
little loud last night.

- Nah.
- It wasn't that bad at all.

Yeah, we're glad you a good time.

Uh, we did wanna talk to
you about something though.

This guy, Quinn...?

Is it true that he came
all the way from Florida

- just to see you?
- No, no.

- He's here on business.
- Business?

Lisa says that he's here to
get reacquainted with a girl.

Uh... uh... well...

sorry, but that is what he
said when we first talked.

Okay. Well, then he shouldn't have come.

I told him it was over in Europe.

It was just like a... thing.

A thing...?

Wha? I'm sorry...

what's-what does that even mean?

What's-what's a thing?

Ugh. He never should have come.

People do crazy things for love.

Is it love?

Mail's here.

You got something.

Mount Royal University.

Open it up!

What's it say?

In. I got in... I got in!

- Agh.
- I'm so proud of you.

- I knew it. Hm.
- This is very good news.

There she is... college girl.

I made you some banana chocolate
chip muffins to celebrate.

- Thank you.
- You're welcome.

I hardly slept last night.

I keep thinking about what
this program could lead to...

like a management degree or something.

Maybe I could even
follow in your footsteps?

Oh. Well, that's interesting.

I thought you wanted to jump?

Uh, yeah, I do. But that was...

I don't know,
it's not really like a forever thing.

If I manage a place like Fairfield

I could stay in the horse industry.

I think that's a good plan for you,
honey.

Do you think...

maybe you could show me the ropes.

Sure... you can start today.

What do you mean?

Well, summer job.
You wanna come work for me.

Okay. That-that'd be great.

But I'm supposed to go on a road trip

with Adam and Wyatt to Yellowstone

so it would have to be after that.

That's fine.
Why don't you come by today,

get the lay of the land,
and then you could officially start

- when you get back.
- Okay.

- Yeah.
- Great. Thank you so much!

Thank you.

I got into MRU!

Oh!

Yeah. Oh my God! That's awesome.

Yeah.
And Lisa is letting me work at Fairfield

for the summer.
So everything is coming together.

Wow. I'm really happy for you.

Thanks. Look um...

I'm sorry I can't go on
your whole road trip,

- but I can still do Yellowstone.
- Oh. Actually,

I don't think that that's
the best idea maybe.

What? Why not?

Um...

Yeah.

Look... ah...

I wanna be your friend,

and I really thought that I could...

but I think that I was
just kidding myself. Again.

Because like uh...

I still have feelings for you.

- Wyatt...
- No. I know,

and I know that you
don't feel the same way.

And it is what it is.

But it was just um,
when I saw you kiss that guy

it just kinda made me feel like

my heart got ripped out of my chest.

I'm sorry, but...

No, you don't need to apologize.

There is no need to apologize.
It was just that sort of

made me realize that I need to move on.

Yeah. Um...

So I think that we
should say good bye...

for real this time.

Okay, great.

Good bye, Georgie.

- Hey.
- Hey.

Just finishing this up and I
have to head into Maggie's.

You want a ride?

Sure. That'd be great.

So how did it go with
and grandpa and dad?

They haven't been in the best
mood since your little chat.

I asked them one more time if
we could all work together,

they said, they're not interested.

Oh...

So what does that mean?

It means that I'm gonna be
working with Garland by myself.

It means Aspen Grove Beef
is gonna be his shelves.

But it's gonna be in direct competition

with Heartland beef...
in the same store.

Yeah.

But I guess that's just
how it's gonna be now.

Let's go.

Okay, this is your office
for the next little while.

- Really?
- Yeah.

And I need you to keep it
spotless and organized.

So you mean like muck
the stalls and stuff?

Mhmm.

This is where every one of
my employees started out.

O-kay.

I just,
I just thought you were gonna teach me

more of the management side of things.

I am. I promise you.

And this is where it starts...
at the bottom.

Sorry, honey.

Don't let her get
charge-y downhill, Quinn.

There you go! Beautiful.

Okay.

Just...
sit down, let her relax a little.

How come Quinn is riding Star?

He's just helping me out.

Quinn's a pretty great rider,

but I guess you already know that.

That looked great. Nice run.

Yeah.
We just have to patient with her, okay?

But she's coming around nicely.

I'm sorry about the other night.

I was out of line.

Star is not the only one I
need to be more patient with.
