- [Announcer] The Atomic Flame!

(dramatic orchestral music)

This is the Slosh
River in the year 2000.

Its waters are being stolen

by the sinister
people of Ping Pang.

Jimmy Sparks and Inspector
Blooper are visiting the land

across the river, the
land of Bongo Bongo.

- Telegram, it's from the man
who runs your zoo back home.

- Thank you.

Hmm, have you caught
any animals yet

for the new cages
in the zoo I keep?

When are you coming home?

- We've been here only two weeks

and we haven't had much
chance to catch anything.

- The doctor's right.

If it weren't for
the trouble here,

we would have caught some.

But with hardly any water,
the country needs help.

- There's a rumor about
that Ping Pang may try

to come here and begin a war.

- We better check the
defense facilities.

- I agree, Inspector,
but according to my watch

it's almost sundown
and we know very little

about this mysterious country.

We might get lost when
it's dark out there,

so let's wait until tomorrow.

- In the meantime, I
might as well check

to make sure Gigantor's
in perfect working order.

Noonie, would you like to help?

- Yes.

- Oh, say, Jim, I'd
like to get into action.

My funny bone just
cracked, that's not a joke!

(laughing)

- [Narrator] At the
enemy headquarters.

(laughter)

- Everything's ready for
the attack, General Gorilla.

We'll take over Bongo
Bongo with a secret weapon.

- They'll be surprised.

They know nothing
about our weapon.

- Haha, that's right.

- Tell me, Snoop, how
does the new weapon look?

Has it been tested?

- Yes sir, it has
tremendous power.

- Good, let's try it out.

So this is our new
atomic flame thrower.

Let me have a demonstration.

- The target is the single big
coconut tree straight ahead.

Ready, fire!

(loud blasts)

- Ah, the atomic ball
of flame does not stop.

(loud explosions)

Mmm, that was excellent.

This weapon will stop that
robot Gigantor once and for all.

- The sooner we attack, the
sooner we can use it on him.

(General laughs)

- When should we attack?

- Tonight, when the Bongo
Bongoans fall asleep, sir.

- Good, we'll attack
at midnight then.

- [Men] Yes, sir!

- [Narrator] That
evening in Bongo Bongo,

Jim and Dr. Brilliant
make sure Gigantor

is in good working order.

- I inspected the
computers, Jim,

and everything is
working perfectly.

- And the power unit's
at top capacity.

- He'll be all ready in
case we have any trouble

from those Ping Pangians, Jim.

- Yes sir, but I hope there
won't be any real trouble.

- We'll have to get an
early start tomorrow, Jim,

so let's go to sleep.

- Good idea.

- [Narrator] As the Bongo
Bongo camp settles down

for the night, the
Ping Pangians get ready

for a sneak attack.

- Now they've gone to bed.

Begin the attack immediately.

- Yes, sir.

Prepare for attack.

(men shouting)

- Men, we will use our
new atomic flame thrower

to destroy everything in Ping
Pang, including Gigantor.

Ready, advance!

(slow march music)

(snoring)

(grumbling)

(slow march music)

- Hmm?

(heavy panting)

Jimmy!

Wake up, there's something
going on out there, wake up!

- Noonie, what's the matter,
why aren't you asleep?

- I heard strange noises.

They woke me up.

- What are you talking about?

- Listen to them, can't
you hear anything at all?

(loud snoring)

- Oh.

It's too noisy, come
outside, come on.

- You were right, Noonie.

Now I hear something strange.

It sounds like
the Ping Pangians.

I think they're coming.

Noonie, run over there
and warn General Boobadee

while I wake
everybody up, hurry!

- Yes, Jimmy.

(dramatic music)

- Men, this is it.

We are going to
take over Ping Pang.

When they send up Gigantor,

we'll use our atomic
flame thrower against him.

Are you ready for battle?

- [Men] Ready!

- Then advance in formation.

- [Men] March!

- Inspector Blooper,
Dr. Brilliant, wake up.

Inspector Blooper, the Ping
Pangians are coming, wake up!

- The Ping Pangians are coming?

- Oh, Jim boy, you must have
been having a very bad dream.

- Inspector, it's
not a dream, wake up!

(ominous music)

- Doctor.

- General Boobadee, I
made a mistake, I'm sorry.

I shouldn't have suggested
that we wait until tomorrow

to check the defenses here.

- You didn't know they would
begin their attack tonight,

they're so sneaky.

I hope you have Gigantor
ready to go, Jim.

- I do.

- Ready?
- Ready.

- Ready?
- Ready.

- Ready?
- Ready.

- Are the men ready, Sneaker?

- Yes, sir, just say the
word and they'll attack.

- All right, Sneaker,
I'm saying it now.

Fire!

(gunshots and explosions)

Fire back at them, men, give
them everything we've got.

We must stop them, don't
let them get any closer.

(gun shots and lasers)

They're getting closer, we'll
have to fight a lot harder.

(gunshots)

- Snoop, they're fighting back.

- What do they want
to do that for?

Send out the reserves.

- Yes, sir.

Reserve forces, get going!

(men shouting)

(gunshots and missiles firing)

- Yows!

- Ow!

- Oh!

- Uh-oh.

Listen, Snoop,
they're fighting back

better than we expected.

Those bullets hurt!

It's time we moved up
the atomic flame thrower

and let 'em have it.

- No, not yet.

Ah!

Move out the atomic
flame thrower.

- Yes, sir.

Flame thrower, fire!

(flame thrower blasts)

- Look, here comes
some bolts of flame.

Doctor, look what it's doing.

- Look at it go.

- Call the fire engines
to extinguish those fires!

- They can't, there's
no water in the river.

All of it was stolen and the
enemy didn't leave us any.

- Then we better get
out of here, run!

(people shouting)

- Look out!
- Run!

(flaming blasts)

- The flames are getting
close to Gigantor.

- I think somebody's
controlling them.

- Use Gigantor, Jim,
before it's too late.

- Aye.

Gigantor, you've got
to stop those fires.

(electric blasts)

No use.
- Keep it up!

Oh, he can't seem
to stop that flame.

- I told you it was no use.

(laughing)

- Nothing can stop
our super weapon,

not even that big robot.

- Sometime soon, that atomic
flame will penetrate his metal

and burn the robot up.

(laughing)

(dramatic music)

- The flame's
starting to burn him.

- Do something.

- Listen, Jim, before
that fire destroys him,

have him fly into
some water immediately

or he'll be burned up.

- Right.

- Hmm, he dove into that
water and the fire's out now.

- Maybe he can't fight again.

That atomic flame might
have really toasted him.

- I hope it did.

- I mean, it might have melted
some of his computer units

so they're unable to work.

(laughing)

- Then let's keep up the
attack against Bongo Bongo

while the robot
cannot help them.

- Wait a minute,
General Grilla,

we suffered a lot of damage
and before we attack again

we've got to fix everything.

That will take time.

- You are right, so
we will fix them.

And with Gigantor
out of commission,

we'll be able to
take a lot of time.

Then we'll attack when we
want, and Bongo Bongo is ours.

- [Narrator] By dawn, the
Ping Pangians have pulled back

to their own country to
prepare another attack.

Just off the coast
of Bongo Bongo,

Gigantor is at the
bottom of the ocean.

- Is Gigantor all
right, Dr. Brilliant?

- Was he damaged by the flames?

- There's only one way to
find out, give him a test.

Signal Gigantor to come
up out of the water, Jim.

- Right.

(dramatic music)

Dr. Brilliant, he's
flying all right.

- He still could
be damaged, Jim.

I'd like to try testing him.

Bring him down, Jim.

- Aye.

- Now let me try him.

(powerful blasts)

Gigantor is perfect.

- [Group] That's wonderful!

- General, I think I know
what made those flames.

- You do?

What new weapon do they have?

- Such hot flames are made
only by a newly invented

flame thrower using the atom.

- You mean an atomic thrower?

- Yes, Jim, and in
defense against it

we must get a new kind of
fire fighting equipment.

Send this prescription to
the science laboratory,

and ask them to make up the
special fire fighting medicine.

- I will, at once.

- And while they're making it
up, I have a possible plan.

Send some men to Ping
Pang to tell everybody

that Gigantor was damaged.

- [Inspector] Yes,
and they'll relax.

Oh, good idea, Jim.

- [Narrator] General
Boobadee sends special agents

to fool the Ping Pang soldiers.

- The big robot will
never fight again.

- So, we have nothing
to worry about.

(laughing)

- [Narrator] And at General
Gorilla's supreme headquarters,

Sneaker makes a report.

- General Gorilla and
Snoop, I just heard a rumor

that Gigantor can't fight.

- He was damaged by our
atomic flame thrower.

I knew it would get him.

Instead of attacking tonight,

let's have a party to celebrate.

Then we can attack
the following night.

- Wait, Snoop, just where
did you hear about Gigantor

no longer being in good
fighting condition?

- From a soldier,
who said he heard it

from another soldier,
General Gorilla.

- Send out spies to
check on the rumor.

What if it is not true?

- [Soldier] Why
would it not be true?

- It might be a lie.

- Sir!

We just got a report
that Gigantor's coming.

- Use the atomic
flame thrower on him.

Make sure that it
finally burns him up.

(slow march music)

- The Ping Pangians
are straight ahead.

Men, get into battle
formation and advance, quick!

Fire when ready!

(gunshots blasting)

(flame thrower blasts)

- Here come the atomic flames.

Gigantor, use the formula!

(loud blasts)

(fiery explosion)

(whistling toward ground)

- What is the matter?

He is stopping our
atomic balls of flame.

- I know, what's
wrong with them?

- I don't know, but it
looks as though Gigantor

has got some kind of
new fire extinguisher.

- He's coming this way.

Do something.

- I'm too scared to think.

(dramatic music)

(rockets whizzing)

(people screaming)

(loud blasts)

(loud blasts)

(nervous yelling)

(loud blasts)

- Don't let them get away,
Gigantor, catch them!

(men yelling)

(grumbling)

- Let us out of here!

- Ouch!

(men screaming)

- Hands up, all of you!

We won, they surrendered!

(dramatic marching beat)

- Please, help me.

I want to talk to King
Beebeeree of Bongo Bongo.

- General Boobadee, he
keeps asking me to take him.

Why don't we let
him see the king?

Could you arrange
an appointment?

- Yes, I'll do it.

- Meanwhile, we'll open the
Ping Pangian underground dam

and let the water
into the river.

- And we'll meet later
back at the palace.

Bring the prisoners!

- [Group] Bye!

(triumphant music)

- [Narrator] The entrance
to the underground dam,

secretly built by the Ping
Pangians to steal the water

from the Slosh River.

(triumphant music)

- Ah, this button opens the dam

and lets the water
into the river.

(water rushing)

(people cheering)

- Hmm, well, now the
people and the animals

and the trees of Bongo Bongo

will have plenty
of water to drink.

Hmm?

Yeah, now Slurp Lake
is being filled up.

Soon they'll be
swimming and boating.

- His majesty is waiting,
let's go see him.

And after that, we'll
do some hunting.

- [Narrator] The royal
palace of King Beebeeree,

ruler of Bongo Bongo.

(cheerful music)

- Welcome, men.

Thank you for all you've
done for Bongo Bongo.

I've spoken to General Gorilla.

Now our two countries
will live in peace.

- I cannot understand
why I behaved so badly,

and I am ashamed.

I certainly will
not do it again.

- From now on, Ping
Pang and Bongo Bongo

will share the water equally.

- Then there'll be
no more trouble.

By the way, your royal majesty.

- I know, I remember you're
in Bongo Bongo to hunt animals

for a zoo at home.

- Yes, sir, we
came to catch them.

- Go and hunt.

I know you will take
very good care of them.

(upbeat music)

- Now you'll give
them a good home.

(crashes in water)

(dives in water)

- Oh!

- The king of beasts, capture
them, Gigantor, if you can.

(dramatic music flourish)

(cheerful music)

(instrumental theme music)

- Don't worry, I'm taking
you back to a place

that'll be the best
home you've ever had

- Here, giraffe, eat.

In your new home, you'll be
seen my millions of children.

I certainly hope you'll
take very good care of them.

- I will.

Why don't you come and
visit them in the zoo?

Oh, you must try to come.

- I'll try.

Goodbye, Jim, and good luck.

Someday I'll see you again.

- Good.

- [Narrator] Gigantor has
successfully carried out

another mission, and now
Jim, Inspector Blooper,

and Dr. Brilliant
are sailing for home,

thinking of the friends
who await them there.

Beyond the horizon lies
another exciting adventure.
