Zak and the crew travel to the small mining town of Eureka, Nevada, to investigate reports of an aggressive spirit at a hotel as well as a mysterious underground tunnel system built by oppressed Chinese laborers.

Travel long enough down
it's winding paths
through the foothills of Nevada,
and you will eventually
find yourself
in a small mining town
called Eureka,
settled in 1864,
population just over 600.
They found massive amounts
of silver here.
So much silver, in fact,
that it was
the second highest rated
mineral producer
in the state of Nevada.
We are here to investigate
two locations that are known
as the most extreme,
in terms of activity.
The location behind me
is one of them,
the Jackson House.
The employees are being affected
so badly, they won't even work.

The second location that we're
going to be investigating
is the Eureka Saloon and Cafe.
The reason why we're here
to investigate
is what lies underneath
this building.
It's called
the underground cathedral.
When mining was going on here,
the Chinese laborers,
the Chinese miners,
they were tormented.
They were abused.
They were beaten,
some were even murdered.

They sought refuge
in these tunnels down here.
Many people say it is the energy
that is inside of these tunnels
that carries forth
all of the dark energy
that affects every building
in this town.
Initially walking into
this hotel,
it seems... It's open.

Well, we just reopened
4 years ago,

Before that, it was closed
for a very long time.
And since we've reopened,
it's been nonstop activity.

and within 10 minutes

Soon as you walk in
the building,
you feel a high alert

Yes. It was just
a few months ago.
I had come in to start
getting the suite ready.
We had, you know,
people coming to stay.
So I went into
this bathroom here,
and I was vacuuming out
the windowsill.
I had my hand on the counter,
and all of a sudden
I've got a really hot feeling
running down my arm,
and when I looked
I had a raised scratch.
I didn't hear anything.
I didn't see anything.
It was just there.
Whenever I come into
this building,
I always, you know,
talk to 'em,
"Hey, guys, I'm here
to, you know, straighten up.
If you don't want me here,
let me know."
I took that as they didn't
want me here.
It was, uh,
quite terrifying.
ZAK: After that happened,

The last few months,
I haven't slept well.
I've been sleeping in,
like, hour intervals.
Don't know why, I just wake up,
and then I'm up
for about an hour,
and then I go back to sleep.
I've been having problems with,
like, my short-term memory
over the last couple
of months as well.

- Yes. It was shortly after that.
