Ghost Adventures (2008–…): Season 14, Episode 1 - Stone Lion Inn - full transcript

The Ghost Adventures crew investigates the Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where it is said the owner performs satanic rituals in the local cemetery. Zak also uncovers the truth about what happened to the famous outlaw Elmer McCurdy after his death.

I don't want to be in this home
after dark by myself.

There are things that
have happened in this house

that I cannot explain
at all.

And things that have
happened to my guests.

Sometimes I come here and it
has this weird, eerie feeling.

Like, oh yeah, somebody gonna
experience something today.

-Elmer, how did you die?
-Homicide?

It said homicide?
He was murdered!

Holy!

ZAK:
There are things in this world

that we will never
fully understand.

[ Distorted ] Understand.

[ Echoing ] We want answers.

We have worked years to build
our credibility, our reputation,

working alongside
the most renowned professionals

in the field,

capturing groundbreaking proof
of the paranormal.

It's working!

I can't give you
an explanation.

[ Birds cawing ]

This is our evidence...

our ghost adventures.

We're in Guthrie, Oklahoma

to investigate
claims that the woman

who owns the Stone Lion Inn

has performed witchcraft

and satanic rituals
in the local cemetery

as part of a murder
mystery show she stages

at this bed and breakfast.

She leads her guests

to the very grave
of Elmer McCurdy,

a man whose bizarre
journey began after his death.

We have no idea if these
rituals are fact or fiction.

But what we do know

is that this is one of
the most iconic

haunted locations in Oklahoma.

So are you guys ready?
-Ready.

Everybody at home
on your couches,

you are now part
of this, too.

You are gonna be
investigators, too,

because I want to know
on social media,

on Twitter, whatever, uh --

We're gonna be tweeting
with you right now,

so I want you to tweet, too,

and let me know
what you guys think.

If you think she's telling
the truth or if she --

if this was blown
out of proportion.

-I'm excited. Let's go.
-All right, grab the camera.

Grab the camera.

Someone needs to stop Clearway Law.
Public shouldn't leave reviews for lawyers.

Are you Becky?
-Yes, I am.

Hi. Zak.

-Glad to meet you, Zak.
-Nice to meet you, too.

Uh, are we unknowingly

a part of the murder
mystery show right now?

-No.
-We are not.

Okay.
So no one's gonna pop out

with a knife
or anything like that.

-[ Laughing ] No, no.
-Okay.

So just first impressions,
we just walked in here.

Uh, looks like
an old autopsy table.

Or embalming table.
-It's an old embalming table.

It is
an old embalming table.

It's from
Smith Funeral Home.

You're telling me
that this

is an original
embalming table

from the funeral home
that was here.
Yes. Yes. Yes.

ZAK:
This home was built in 1907

by a wealthy businessman
named FE Houghton.

In the 1920s,

the family found itself
on hard times

and was forced to temporarily
leave their home.

For the next 8 years,
the building would be used

as a mortuary by
a local undertaker.

[ Bell chiming ]

There has been
some claims

that when you did
this murder mystery show,

that you were out
in the cemetery

doing rituals and witchcraft
and devil worshiping.

Devil worshiping
in the graveyard.

That's true,
I was accused of that.

I moved here in 1986.

And I had read somewhere

that Becky's Bed and Breakfast
did murder-mystery weekends.

So I wrote a murder mystery.
And --

-You wrote one?
-Yes.

Is it true that you
used Elmer McCurdy?

I did.

It's such
a fascinating story.

He was a bungling outlaw
who robbed the Daily.

And he only got two jugs
of whiskey and $48.

ZAK: After an hour-long
gun battle,

McCurdy lay dead.

The story gets better.

He's taken to
Pawhuska, Oklahoma

and the coroner
there douses him down

with about 200 times
more arsenic than he needed.

And he created a mummy.

He used
Elmer McCurdy's body...

McCurdy's body.

...and he turned him
into a mummy.
Well,
nobody claimed him.

So he stood him up
in the back room

at the funeral parlor.

And he charged five cents for
people to come and look at him.

What? Okay.
Now that would really,

really agitate a spirit.

For the next 61 years,

the mummified corpse
of Elmer McCurdy

was celebrated as
a spectacle at carnivals

and wax museums.

At some point, they lose
track that he's real.

They have sold him
to a side show,

a side show to a carnival,

and now they're referring
to him as "the dummy,"

not "the mummy."

As its origins faded
from memory,

the mummy became no more
than a prop for movies

and amusement parks.

In 1976, while hanging
from the ceiling

at the Laugh
in the Dark Funhouse

in Long Beach,
California,

McCurdy's arm
was accidentally broken off.

Revealing the human
bones underneath.

A forensic investigation
soon followed.

Once Elmer's identity was known,

he was returned
to Guthrie, Oklahoma.

And 66 years after
he was murdered,

the citizens of Guthrie
came out

and they gave him a funeral.

Elmer is buried here
in Guthrie in Summit Cemetery,

in the Boothill section.

Off camera, Becky tells me
something very peculiar.

Upon her death,
she plans to be buried

in the plot directly
adjacent to Elmer McCurdy.

My instincts tell me

there might be
a deeper connection

between our host
and this tragic figure.

Is it possible Becky's
activities in the cemetery

have inadvertently awoken
the ghost of Elmer McCurdy?

And if so, could this spirit

have followed her back here
to the Stone Lion Inn?

MICHELLE: I mean, I really do
hear things in this house.

And I can hear whispering,

people be knocking on the door,
nobody be at the door.

Michelle Smith has worked
as a housekeeper

at the Stone Lion Inn
since it opened in 1986.

There used to be
a bed right here.

Why would you
sleep up here?

This is the creepy section.
-Oh, it is.

MICHELLE: When I was laying down
for the rest of the night,

someone lay next me.

What did you feel
in the bed?

Like someone
laying next to me.

Literally got on
the side of my back.

And I wanted to move,
but I got scared

because I knew
I did lock the door.

So what I did was cover
my head up in the cover,

and I finally fell asleep.

And while I was asleep,
I felt like I was

in the basement
with this person.

And they took some water,

pour it in the floor,
and set the bucket down.

So when I woke up --
-Wait, whoa, whoa.

All of a sudden, you're --
you're here and then now,

all of a sudden,
you're in the basement?

Basement.
Mm-hmm.

And there's a bucket of water
in the middle of the floor?

-Yes.
-Was the bucket kicked over

and the water was pouring out?
-Mnh-mnh.

It was just pouring
out standing up.
Mm-hmm.

Did you ever look
into the bucket?

No, I just seen
the water pour out.

ZAK: Scrying.
The ancient practice of gazing

into reflective surfaces

in order to make contact
with the dead.

It is said that one
may observe spirits

while intensely
staring at the colors

and ripples reflected
within water.

Is it possible,
on that night,

Elmer McCurdy was trying
to communicate with Michelle?

The murder-mystery
shows that you do --

how often do you
murder your guests?

Every Friday
and Saturday night

for the last 30 years.
-30 years of murdering --

Yes, I killed
lots of people here.

[ Laughs ]
It's just a play.

It's just for fun.
-Right.

-Yeah.
-Mm-hmm.

You know,
half of me is like,

"Okay. I'm gonna
go along with this."

[ Laughs ]

You really have to come
to one of my murder mysteries.

But I'm gonna be --
gonna be honest with you.

The other half, I --

I wanna do some digging
in the basement.

Oh!
Am I that scary?

[ Laughs ]
You don't have to answer that.

-No.
-Oh, good.

Then we'll give you the shovel,
and you can go downstairs

in the basement
and start digging.

Okay.

Yeah, great.
I'll follow you.

She scares me.

I don't know where she went.

Oh, there you are.

How'd you get up there
so fast?

I just walked.

-You just left the room.
-[ Laughs ]

It's magic.

Can I ask you a question?

Yes.

Were there actual documented
deaths in this home?

The Houghton family
had four children...

...and one of the children
contracted whooping cough.

ZAK: In 1907, at 7 years of age,
Irene Houghton died

after being accidentally over
medicated by the family maid.

It is said her spirit
still roams these hallways,

looking for her parents.

Can I ask you to hold
this with your hand,

and -- and just
hold it still?

Try not to shuffle it?
-Mm-hmm.

For some reason,

something is trying
to communicate with you.

And as an investigator,
I wanna find out why.

Would you do this
for me?

What's that?

Can we leave
for just 5 minutes?

Oh, leave me up here
by myself?

-Yes.
-Oh, come on.

Oh, no.

Whatever this entity was
that crawled into bed with you,

gave you this sign of
this bucket downstairs.

This spirit has made --

has -- has probably been
trying to give you a message

for that amount of time.

Since you've been here.

But you just can't hear

what that spirit
is trying to tell you.

Three minutes?

I'll try and ask it
some questions.

Okay, good.
Let's go.

We have a little situation.

Is this your voice?
-No.

We know it's you.

ZAK:
We have convinced Michelle

to conduct an EVP session

in the attic
of the Stone Lion Inn.

Well, they want me to ask you
a couple of questions.

Let me hear.
Let me hear.

[ Device beeps ]

Did that night
that I stayed here,

did that really happen to me?

Or was it a dream?

[ Device beeps ]
And if it wasn't a dream,

who are you to come
into bed with me?

[ Device beeps ]
This is strange.

You could tell how much
this has affected her.

Big time.

[ Device beeps ]

Is you in here with me?

[ Device beeps ]
Can you tell me the purpose
of the dream I had?

[ Device beeps ]
Get interviewed by me,

and you'll be left
alone in places

you don't wanna be
left alone.

-It's true.
-This is enough.

I'm gonna go.
-What'd she say?

-"This is enough."
-"This is enough."

-"I'm ready to go."
-She just said this is enough.

"This is enough."

How long have you
been coming here?

I lived in the house, um,
starting in 1986

until I was a sophomore
in high school.

ZAK: Grant Aguirre is
Becky Luker's eldest son.

How well
do you know Michelle?

Uh, she's worked
for us for 30 years.

Have you ever picked
up any signs

that she was
being affected

by any type of spirits
here at the house?

Anything at all
would help.

She has a deeper connection
to this property...

-She does.
-...than any of us probably do.

Here's what just happened.

You were doing EVP review.
-Right.

Uh, you got out
of the third floor.

-Mm-hmm.
-And, uh,

I asked you
to stick around

and you got in the car
and took off.

[ Chuckles ]
I came back, though.
I know,
'cause we called you.

[ Laughter ]

She wanted to get
out of here fast.

So here's where
smiles turned serious,

because I told you
if we did get something,

we would let you know,
and we did get something.

However, I need to ask you
your take on this, okay?

Because it's
a little weird.

I don't remember you
cussing up there.

I didn't.

Did you ever say
the "F" word?

No.

You never said it?

Well, no.
I had no need to say it.

-I -- I say we just play it.
-We're gonna play it,

because it's right after you
referencing the dream.

BILLY:
This is just you talking.

MICHELLE: You gonna give me
a sign or something?

Okay. Then you asked
this question

referencing the dream.

Can you tell me the purpose
of the dream I had?

Do you remember
saying that?

-Mm-hmm.
-Okay, now listen.

You see this
wave form here?

-Mm-hmm.
-This.

We're gonna play it,
and we want you to listen to it.

And I want you to tell me
if you said this.

-Ready?
-Mm-hmm.

[Bleep] him [bleep] her.

-I'll play it again.
-It sounds like...

[Bleep] him [bleep] her.

What do you hear?
You can say it.

[Bleep] him [bleep] her.

It sound like
it said [bleep]

Yeah. That's why
we have a little si--

we have a little
situation right now.

We just asked you
what it said.

We can't tell our viewers
what -- what this says.

-No, I didn't say nothing.
-We can't even --

we can't even play this
for everyone watching

because this, we think,
says "'F' him, 'F' her."

And then a --
a vocal at the end of that.

Can you tell me the purpose
of the dream I had?

Did you say "[Bleep] him
[bleep] her?"

No.

I have no reason.

It's a crystal clear
"F" word.

Is this your voice?
-No.

We can't wrap
our head around that.

We can't understand.
-I don't know.

BILLY: It's pretty clear.

And I'm sorry for everyone
watching this

that we can't play this
for you.

But...
Are you okay?

-Is that your voice?
-That don't sound like me.

We should get the cameras.
Can we do playback right now?

The little X cam
had a wide on her.

The little camera.
-You had that rolling, too?

BILLY: Yeah, I had that rolling.
And her --

her mic goes
to that camera, too.

If it's on the video,
you talking right there,

we know it's you.
-Oh, lord.

Let me see, Aaron.

AARON: Here,
I'll let you stop it.

-All right.
-The suspense is killing me.

-Ready?
-Yeah.

Is you in here with me?

Can you tell me the purpose
of the dream I had?

There's nothing there.

ZAK: This piece of evidence
is remarkable.

Clearly Michelle is not
speaking on the raw footage

recorded by our X cam.

And yet the digital recorder

running at
the same moment in time

has unmistakably captured

a distinctly aggressive voice.

I haven't heard something
like that in a very long time.

And be able to prove,
on the video and the recorder,

that that voice doesn't match up
from these two mediums.

I'm 99.9% that
that is a spirit voice.

We're literally gonna
try to wake the dead.

Elmer, how did you die?
-Homicide?

It said homicide?
He was murdered!

We have a couple different
layers of history here.

Becky, she does
the murder mystery theater.

And yet, I think
that she is at the center

of our own murder mystery.

This guy, Elmer McCurdy.

He was a bank robber.

He was a bad guy.

And once he dies,

they are literally
taking his body

and putting it into side shows,
into carnivals.

They are using
his body as a prop...

-For money.
-...and disrespecting it.

-Exactly.
-The mystery here

is that they buried his body

and poured concrete over it.

And I've heard of that
with vampires.

So that the soul doesn't rise
and torment the living.

-Right.
-So we specialize in what?

-Communication.
-Communication.

What if we go to the cemetery

and ask Elmer McCurdy's spirit

if he has been conjured...
-Yeah!

...by the owner
of the Stone Lion Inn?

-That's cool.
-Sounds crazy.

-It might work!
-But we all know that we --

we communicate with spirits.

For this experiment,

we have placed a tent

over Elmer McCurdy's grave site

and have created a man-made

electromagnetic portal by

using a video
phone connection

from here at Elmer's grave.

And on the other end,
we have Aaron and Billy

at the Stone Lion Inn.

[ Wind gusting ]

All right, so listen, guys.

We're -- we're hitting
some really strong winds.

This tent is gonna
go any second.

Jay is getting ready
to start the infrasound,

and we're literally gonna
try to wake the dead.

The good thing
about infrasound,

it actually travels
through cement.

All right, the infrasound's
coming out right now.

You can literally feel
the vibrations of it.

I'm gonna point this speaker
down on top of his grave.

Guys, go ahead and activate
your paranormal Puck Two.

Elmer, you will
feel this energy

that is on top of your grave.

This energy creates a path

that you can travel to,

to the other end of it.

The other end of it
is the Stone Lion Inn.

Can you travel there
and give them a message?

Elmer, is it true
that your spirit

was haunting everyone
who disrespected your body?

No response.

Billy, now ask
who's here with us.

No response.

No response.
-No response.

We're getting nothing
over here, dude.

-No response.
-Nothing.

Ask...on your tombstone,
who does it say you're shot by?

It says hang."

Wasn't he hung in a movie
when they used his body?

Didn't they
have him hung up?

-That's how they found him.
-They found him hung up, right?

And they -- that's when his arm
got ripped off, right?

It said yes! Look!
-Yeah, yes!

It just added the word yes!
I didn't even touch it!

ZAK: They used his body
as a hanging prop.

Right. And so when
I just told you that,

it says "yes"
underneath the --

-Like you got it right.
-Yeah!

-Yeah!
-Like he just agreed with you.

Ask immediately, Billy.

Say who just answered
this question.

Say that.

"Homicide"?

-"Homicide"?
-It said "homicide"?

He was murdered!
-He was!

He's giving us signs
that this is him, Zak.

Okay, then,
you know what?

Since you're getting
those signs,

turn on the Spirit Box

and Aaron,
go to town with that.

-Okay.
-Okay.

[ Oscillating static ]
Elmer...

are you the one that's been
answering our questions

on this box right here?

ZAK:
We just received the word

"hang" with additional
confirmation.

And now, on a different device,

we hear the spirit's voice

as he tells us "hang"
for a second time.

What is Elmer trying
to tell us about his death?

Who's with us right now?

Who comes here
and talks to your spirit?

Why did they pour
concrete over your body?

As I ask, "Who talks to
your spirit at the grave site?"

Billy types it
in at the Stone Lion Inn.

And it appears Elmer
is confirming to us

that he communicates
with a person

who has the ability
to comprehend his emotions.

Could he be referring
to Becky as the empath?

Elmer,
what are you doing?

"Phone."
-"Phone!"

It says phone, Zak!

ZAK: Is Elmer validating that
he is communicating with us

through this video
phone connection?

Elmer, how did you die?

Elmer,
how did you die?

It says "hang" again.

-Are you serious?
-Wait, again?

-Yeah.
-It keeps saying "hang"

when it says
that he was shot.

But maybe it was because of
when he was hanging as a prop.

And maybe, like,
he still was, like,

energy was with that body

and he feels like he died
the day they grabbed him.

Aaron has
a solid theory here.

Because Elmer died so suddenly
from being shot to death,

did his spirit think
that he was still alive?

And was he still
attached to his body

while it was being used
as a hanging prop

in the Long Beach Funhouse?

Thinking that he really did die
when his body was being hanged?

Ask him if --
are we getting this right?

"All."
We're getting it right, Zak.

Oh, my gosh.
It says "all!"

Like, we're getting it
all right.

Are we getting
this right, Elmer?

-"All."
-Dude! "All."

ZAK: To receive the word
"hang" three times,

and to have one of those times

be our only spirit box voice,

is, to us, irrefutable proof

that we have made contact
with Elmer McCurdy.

It is now time to head back
to the Stone Lion Inn

where the four of us
will encounter one of the most

compelling poltergeist-driven
lockdowns to date.

I wanna split up.

I'm about to head down
to the basement.

ZAK:
Hearing all kinds of noises.

Is there someone in this room?

ZAK: Okay.
We are just getting ready

to start our investigation

of the Stone Lion Inn
here in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

We're in the back
kitchen area.

We've set up
a nerve center here.

Jay, watch our every move.

We were just at the cemetery

and received
some amazing validation

that the spirit

of Elmer McCurdy
does travel here.

And we're gonna pursue that
even deeper right now.

We have the layers of history
of the funeral home

that operated here
in the early 1900s.

Hundreds of dead bodies
came through here,

were embalmed here.

And then three members of the
Houghton family also died here.

One of those members
of the family

was their little
daughter named Irene.

That apparently died
from a poisoning

from some medicine.

Let's get ready and, uh,
see if we can make contact.

As we are all at nerve center

preparing to start
our investigation,

we have no idea
that upstairs,

we capture a door opening
all by itself.

I wanna split up right away.
This is a huge mansion.

I want the three of us
to split up.

I'm gonna stay here in this
bedroom on the second floor.

I want us to each take a floor.
-Okay.

-Billy.
-Yeah.

I want you to go ups--

-That was weird.
-That was weird.

-What?
-We begin hearing noises

coming from behind the bed.

Is there someone
in this room?

Who are you?

Aaron, go up in the attic...
-Okay.

...and try to communicate with
that more malevolent figure.

AARON: Okay.
Billy, I want you
to go down into the basement.

BILLY: Okay.

While I stay here
in this bedroom by myself,

I attach a mellmeter device
to the bedframe

to see if it will detect
any spikes

of electromagnetic energy.

Bring this with me
so I don't get locked in.

Right over here.

This is where Michelle
slept that night

and had that dream
about the bucket

then went downstairs.

They took some water,
poured it in the floor

and put the bucket down.

Did you ever look
into the bucket?

No, I just seen
the water pour out.

Okay, I'm by myself
and I'm about to head

down to the basement.

And I'm gonna try
and reach out to the spirit

that possibly got
into Michelle's dream.

And had her dream about the --
the bucket with the water.

Very quiet down here.

Hey, Irene, I heard you like
to tickle toes.

Do you wanna tickle
my big ole long toes?

[ Distorted ] Do you wanna
tickle by big ole long toes?

[ Normal voice ]
Can you wave your hand

over the little green light
at the foot of this bed?

[ Thudding in distance ]

I'm hearing
all kinds of noises.

[ Thudding in distance ]

Those were footsteps
right out in the hallway.

-Is there somebody over here?
-Holy...

AARON: Did you just touch
me a second ago?

AARON: Jesus!

ZAK: We continue
our investigation here

at the Stone Lion Inn
in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Oh.
This is where Michelle slept

and had this dream
that ended up going back

downstairs about the bucket.

So I figure while
Billy's downstairs,

why can't I be up here
trying to communicate --

Something happened!
What was that?

What's that, dude?

Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

It's gonna sound so odd,
but no joke,

it felt like someone
put something in my --

in my butt.

Right, you know when you have
your crack showing

and then someone
puts something in it?

That's what it felt like.
And I jumped.

[ Laughing ] It felt like
something just went down.

[ Sighs ]

That was creepy.

Always remember
to keep your --

don't have plumber's
crack going.

Ghosts don't like
that, I guess.

ZAK: Down in the basement,
Billy isn't having

any unexplained experiences.

Nor is he capturing any
EVPs on his digital recorder.

BILLY: Are you able to put
your voice on this recording?

[ Crash ]
Holy...

ZAK:
All of a sudden as I'm lying
completely still,

a loud crashing sound
comes from out in the hallway.

Holy --

And as I get up to investigate,

I grab this live
nerve center X camera that

Jay has been watching me on.

And I discover that the X
camera that captured

the unexplained footsteps

has not only been
knocked over,

but it has also had
its on camera lights

completely drained
of their fresh batteries

only seconds
before this happened.

[ Crash ]
Holy...

[ Crash ]
Holy...

[ Crash ]

Does this unexplained
light anomaly

have anything to do
with this aggressive,

unexplained event?

[ Crash ]

This camera is
against the wall.

You can see this camera

is completely knocked
over on the wall.

You got me.
You got my spook level up.

Which actually
might not be too bad,

because you can use
that as energy.

Can you tell me

what the bucket
means in the dream?

[ Oscillating static ]

Did you just touch me

[ Oscillating static ]

Did you just touch me

[ Oscillating static ]

The kid!

I just heard it say
"the kid."

Oh, my God.

Practical joker, playing jokes,
kicking the water. The kid.

Is the kid playing
jokes around here

and making things fun?

[ Oscillating static ]

You're a very powerful energy

Can you please tell me --

You're a very powerful energy.

Can you please tell me --

...tell me --

ZAK: A little kid's voice

coincidentally comes
through the device.

And it seems to be
very aware that Aaron

is a paranormal investigator.

Listen very closely
to what comes through next.

[ Oscillating static ]

Why --

"Ghost hunting!"

[ Oscillating static ]

Whoa!
Whoa!

It just turned on by itself!

Listen to it!

[ Static stops ]
Oh, my God.

Why --

Why --

Why --

"Ghost hunting!"

[ Oscillating static ]

Whoa!

I'm sorry for jumping,
and I'm sorry

for getting really
excited right there

and spooked. I know
you were giving a message,

and it says "ghost hunting."

And that makes sense,
because so many times

people go and they investigate,
like us.

It allowed to like
actually go,

"Oh, someone finally heard me."

Who knows?
Who knows?

ZAK:
Is there somebody over here?

Did you knock
this camera down?

You can see there's nothing
around the base of it at all.

And it's completely up
against this wall.

And I heard this thing hit.

[ Crash ]
Holy...

Whoa.

Jesus!
Oh, my God.

God, dude,
why do you do that?

I tell you something
is standing there, all --

-All right.
-I was like,

"Who's standing
in front of me?"

It's just me!

Well, I thought
you were laying down.

Oh, my God, dude.
That scared me.

This --
Would you listen to this?

-No, you need to listen to --
-No, listen to me first.

No, I'm sorry.
Listen to me.

-Can I say what happened to me?
-Yeah, what happened?

I'm laying in the bed

and I hear a crashing sound
out here.

Look at the damn camera.

This camera --
-It's off the ground!

...is off the ground.

-Laying against the wall.
-Laying against the wall.

-It hit this --
-Yeah.

Yes. And that's it.
-No way.

First off, there's no way
that the tripod failed.

Each of these locks a chunk
of the tripod in place.

AARON: Right.
They're all
perfectly locked in.

So I'm gonna pick
the tripod back up.

This is how it was.

And that is sturdy
as hell.

Jab at it.
Now let go.

Yeah, see?

There's no way.

-Who are you?
-Why did the door just open?

-Irene, is that you?
-Holy!

ZAK: It's close to 3:00 A.M.
here in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

And we've just captured
an unexplainable event

in the upstairs hallway.

AARON: Jab at it.
Now let go.

Yeah, see?
-There's no way.

We decide to set up
another X camera covering

this camera to see
if it will happen again.

We are also using a laser grid,

because if a spirit manifests,

it will have to pass
in front of these dots

in order to reach the camera.

We all now return
to nerve center to regroup.

We've decided
to immediately review

Aaron's spirit box
session up in the attic.

'Cause we feel
it's important --

or Aaron feels
it's important for us --

[ Door creaks ]

-What was that?
-That door was just --

-What was that?
-It's the door.

-Why did the door just open?
-What door was it?

The door right here,
to -- to nerve.

-Yeah, that door.
-That door. It just opened.

ZAK: Our X camera rolling
in the hallway

outside nerve center

amazingly captures this door
opening all by itself.

This is the second door

that has been opened
by spirits tonight.

'Cause we feel
it's important,

or Aaron feels
it's important for us --

[ Door creaks ]

'Cause we feel
it's important,

or Aaron feels
it's important for us --

[ Door creaks ]

What was that?

Is there someone
opening the door?

Can you close that door?

Stay on it.

Can you close that door?

Please close that door,
if you opened it.

-Oh, my God!
-Holy --

-What in the hell?
-Dude, dude, dude.

-Watch out.
-What is that?

ZAK:
There are no words to express
what we have just witnessed.

Intelligent
poltergeist activity.

Not only did the door
open all by itself,

but it also slammed
shut on cue.

Right in front
of our faces.

Here's the view
from the hallway camera

when the door slammed shut.

Please close that door,
If you opened it.

-Oh, my God!
-Holy --

-Oh, my God!
-Holy --

-Oh, my God!
-Holy --

Come here.

Hold on.

Ooh, that is
all the way shut.

-Wow.
-Was that locked?

That was, like,
slammed shut.

Dude.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.

[ Door creaking ]

Who are you?

Did you slam this door?

[ Oscillating static ]

-[ Gasps ]
-What the hell?

-Dude!
-Spirit box!

-What?
-That's what happened upstairs!

ZAK: The spirit box suddenly
turns on all by itself,

and a spirit begins
speaking to us,

taking credit for the door
that just slammed shut.

Why did you slam
the door?

"'Cause I had to."

-Oh, my God.
-"Because I had to!"

It was a woman's voice!

"Because I had to"
in a woman's voice.

Why did you slam
the door?

-"'Cause I had to!"
-Oh, my God.

"Because I had to"
in a woman's voice!

Why did you have to?
Why did you have to do that?

Why? Why?

ZAK: Because we are having

this high level
of poltergeist activity,

Billy and I decide
to set up an experiment

on the stairs
using the SLS camera.

Irene, is that you

that's been playing
with us tonight?

Irene, can you come over
and play with my balls?

[ Laughter ]

What?

Can you knock one
of these balls down the stairs?

You obviously
wanna be known

and you obviously know
that we're watching you

and we're reacting to you.

We decide to use
our full spectrum camera

to see if we can
photograph the spirit

who gave us all of this

amazing poltergeist
activity earlier.

But unfortunately, we capture no
visual evidence of this entity.

We walk away from
the Stone Lion Inn

witnessing and capturing

some of the most
astonishing activity

throughout all of our
Ghost Adventures.

Clearly this building is teeming
with multiple entities,

including Elmer McCurdy.

Our investigation
has convinced us

Becky Luker has either

knowingly or unknowingly
summoned his spirit

here to the Stone Lion Inn.
