Falling Skies (2011–2015): Season 4, Episode 9 - Till Death Do Us Part - full transcript

While members of the 2nd Mass attempt to dig out a shot-down Beamer, Tom and a small team follow the Volm to a supply cache in search of equipment to expedite the process. Along the way, ...

COCHISE: It cannot be that simple.
WEAVER: You saw these lights come on?

TOM: Yeah, when these solar panels
were exposed to the moon.

Which I guess makes them lunar panels.

You remember when we figured out
the laser wall was powered by the dirigible?

Right.

I think the same principle's at play here,
except on a much bigger scale. Ah.

I think the Espheni are powering
all their tech off the same power source.

HAL: Moonlight?
COCHISE: No.

A form of energy beamed from the moon.

Wireless electricity.

Tesla thought it was possible.

The Espheni must have finally perfected it.

COCHISE: And it suggests
that the Espheni power core...

...which our Volm recon teams have found
difficult to locate here on Earth...

...was never on Earth in the first place.

It was just...

...over our heads.

[SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE]

Hey, Cochise...

...don't beat yourself up so badly.

I need to be alone for a moment.

So why do you think
they built the power source on the moon?

The only reason you would beam power
from orbit is if--

You wanted to have a vantage point
to power the entire planet.

So the power core in the moon
supports every laser wall on every ghetto?

- All over the world.
WEAVER: And everything else.

Every skitter factory, every nightmare...

...that we haven't even imagined yet.

It powers the entire Espheni war machine.

I don't see that we have many options.

We'll have to figure out a way
to get up there, and blow that up.

- It's on a moon.
ANNE: Heh.

Yeah.

- You heard that part, right?
- Yes.

HAL: Ha-ha-ha.
- And I know that look you're giving me, Dan.

And I know that smile.

I've seen it when you've tried to talk
someone from jumping off of a ledge.

Well, guess what.
Today the crazy bastard is me.

HAL:
All right.

Let's, uh, talk this thing through.
Firstly, how do we gain access to it?

TOM: I don't know.
- Okay.

I'm pretty sure that if we do unearth it,
it's gonna be a little beat-up.

- I don't know.
- If we find that on switch, maybe we can...

- I don't know. I don't know. I don't know--
- Stop saying that.

[AS JFK] We choose to go to the moon
not because it's easy but because it's hard.

So this is funny?
This is funny to you?

[IN NORMAL VOICE] Let me finish, because
the first time that I heard that speech...

...I was crazy enough to think
that JFK was actually talking to me.

Because that is a challenge
that we are willing to accept.

One that we are unwilling to postpone
and one which we intend to win.

Okay, Tom, we cannot fly to the moon.

Well, we wouldn't necessarily
have to fly to the moon.

Cochise?

Just play out a little hypothetical with me.

If the power core is on the moon, wouldn't
it follow the Espheni have a base up there?

In all likelihood, yes.

Okay, well, since we know that
Beamers are controlled remotely...

...if we can figure out a way
to set the moon base as a destination...

...wouldn't all we need to do is
hitch a ride?

I cannot believe I am saying this,
but it is not as crazy as it sounds.

You're right. It's crazier.

TOM:
I honestly don't see any other alternative.

I mean, think about it.

You close down a skitter factory,
liberate a camp. What then?

We move on to the next one, save the world
one bloodbath at a time? I don't think so.

We gotta shut them all down
at the same time, at the source.

That's the only way.

Well...

...we do have a Beamer.

A buried Beamer.

So let's unbury it.

Ripped By mstoll

Think you're about full.

Nothing like working all day,
barely making a dent.

The Espheni blew up the town.
It'll take some time to clean it up.

Hey, how you feeling?

Like I just went 10 rounds
with Mike Tyson...

...and he was using brass knuckles
and knives and a steamroller.

At least he didn't bite your ear off.

You ought to be resting.
You just had an alien-spike transplant.

Yeah, and now I've got alien DNA coursing
through my veins and my muscles...

...and it hurts.

I can't concentrate. I can't sit still.
I gotta do something.

Ugh! on.

Wanna move some rubble?

Yeah, more than anything in the world.

You're like a machine.

Hey, I just wanna say
I know how you feel about all this...

- ...and I wanna thank you for your support.
- I'm not supporting you.

- I'm still thinking you're nuts.
- Oh.

But as long as you've got everyone
buying into your latest brand of crazy...

...I'm not gonna rain on their parade.

They don't have anything else
to hope for.

So until they come to their senses...

...I'm supporting them.

You sure that that's what this is about?

- I don't know what you mean.
- Come on, Anne, I'm talking about Lexi.

Listen, a lot's happened...

...stuff that we shouldn't blame each other
about or be keeping to ourselves.

I disagree.

There are some things that are
uniquely suited to keeping to ourselves.

This Beamer's not gonna dig itself out.

Sure could use some more help out here.
Where's Dingaan?

TOM: He's with Shaq assessing the Beamer
controls, which is difficult...

...because the parts they need
are still buried.

They should get their asses
out of that toasty-warm Beamer...

...and get to work helping us unbury it.

That scorched overlord
isn't gonna be gone long.

He's gonna figure out some of us survived
and he's gonna be right back here.

- We'll dig around the clock. I promise.
- Even if we do, it's gonna take us weeks.

I have a possible solution.

There is a concealed Volm supply cache
several miles from here.

What are you saying, Volm supply cache?

We studied your pioneer
and Native American wars closely.

Hidden supply stockpiles
proved to be a vital resource for both sides.

This cache...

...should contain tools
with advanced technology...

...that could be used to break up this earth
and clear it away more quickly.

- What? Like a Volm backhoe?
- Concussion ordnances...

...capable of shooting sound waves
deep into the earth...

...turning boulders into sand, which should
expedite this process immeasurably.

Why are we just hearing about this now?

Espheni forces stood between this camp
and the supply cache...

...until their recent attack.

They have now scaled back
their reconnaissance in this area...

...but the risk is minimal.
- Mm-hm.

Right.

- Is it stuck?
HAL: Uh, I got it.

MAGGIE: Here.
- Give me a second.

- No, let me help.
- All right.

- It's stuck on the rebar.
- All right.

HAL: You ready?
- Yeah.

HAL:
On three. One, two...

...three.
- Unh!

SARA: Ah!
POPE: Whoa.

SARA: Who did that? Mother-- Ah!
POPE: Are you okay?

No. I fell on my wrist.

[SARA GRUNTS]

Look. You're fine, all right?

Thanks for the sympathy.

- I'm so sorry.
- Hey, she okay?

No, she's not okay.
What the hell's all that about, man?

- Let's make sure she's all right.
- No, don't.

Keep your skitter-neck girlfriend away.

It's bad enough we got Espheni
trying to kill us.

- Don't worry about him.
- He's right. I'm a disaster.

Everything hurts. I can't think straight.

BEN:
Are you okay?

No, I feel like I'm operating new machinery,
nobody gave me the instruction manual...

...and I should stay away from everybody.
- No, I--

I've been through this before.
I can help you.

Get used to your senses,
learn to control your strength.

If you could do that, that'd be great.

Maybe you ought to take him up on it.

Heh. Yeah, go on.

Anne.

What are you doing?

Weaver told me
about the Volm supply cache...

...and I could use
some change of scenery.

Boy, you really blame me, don't you?

You think I persuaded Lexi to switch sides
and murder Lourdes in cold blood?

But you're more than willing
to try anything else...

...no matter how crazy,
no matter how reckless--

I do not wanna get into this with you.

Maybe you should blame me...

...because when Ben told us about Lexi
and said there was no trail to follow...

...maybe I was looking
for a reason to move on...

...so that our family drama didn't wreak
havoc on everybody and everything for once.

But I can't discuss that with you.

You think that's something new, Tom?

You reach a conclusion and it's like
the world is automatically on board!

I don't think that every problem
has to have a democratic solution...

...but what's happening
is that you're upset...

...instead of talking to me about it,
you'll bottle that up and live in denial.

I am not living in denial, Torn.

This is me. This is me
that's been on the road, surviving.

The me who spent months
searching for our daughter...

...and I didn't have a trail to follow.

That was different!
You didn't know what she had become!

For all you knew, she was a girl in trouble
and the only family you had left!

It is more than that. I believe.

And what's pissing me off
about this situation is I don't get why.

- Why don't you believe?
- Because I can't afford to.

You get to have faith.
I have to be the realist.

I'm the one that has to weigh everything
and measure everything...

...even in situations where my heart
is breaking just as much as yours.

We don't know what we don't know.

Maybe Lexi will come back.
Maybe she's not too far gone. Maybe...

I don't know, in some unimaginable way,
everything happened needed to happen...

...so that things work out
the way they're supposed to. I don't know.

- You said you couldn't afford to have faith.
- I don't. I can't.

I have hope.

There's a difference.
Faith is your department.

That's why I have you.
That's why I need you.

You're right.

Let's just stick to what we do.

I'll kill skitters. I'll patch people up.

You'll fly to the moon.

And if we both survive, we'll just--

Ha, ha. We'll just figure out the rest.

Deal?

Deal.

POPE:
Quite the melodrama back there.

Stomping off all in a huff.
You raiding the icebox here, huh?

I'm trying to find something for my wrist.
It hurts like hell.

- Vicodin. You said you gave this stuff up.
- I am.

You chip a nail and you're falling off
the wagon again? Is that it?

You got one hell of a commitment
to sobriety, sweetheart.

- Okay, you might wanna shut up now.
- Think twice before you go on...

...giving these speeches about
the old and the new Sara...

...and how you're off all this crap,
because I actually believed you.

What an idiot, huh?

You took the words right out of my mouth.

WEAVER:
Matt's turning into quite the soldier...

...hiking for hours
with low rations and no complaints.

Are you sure it was a good idea,
bringing him?

Cochise said it was low-risk.

It's gotta be safer than that
reclamation project.

There's enough sprained ankles and cuts
to last a lifetime there.

[COUGHING]

What's that smell?

I think its chlorine.

There are lethal patches of toxicity
throughout this area.

- Matthew, if you'll open your duffel bag.
- Uh, sure.

COCHISE:
You'll all need to put one of these on.

ANNE:
Oh, lovely.

[TOM COUGHS]

WEAVER: Any particular reason you decided
to hide your stash in a toxic dump?

The toxicity is an effective deterrent
to scavengers.

We Volm can breathe chlorine.

The cache is buried
4 feet below this cistern.

TOM:
I assume you have a way to access it.

Matt.

MATT:
Mira?

Hey! Hey.

Are you okay?

Hang in there.

[PANTING]

She gonna be okay?

MIRA:
I can breathe.

You'll be all right over here,
away from that crap.

- What are you doing out here?
- I finally got out.

I did it, Matt. I escaped.

Matt told us about you. You guys looked out
for each other at that camp.

Matt kept me alive.

- I was afraid I'd never get out of there.
- Yeah, how did you?

I did just what you told me to.

I pretended to go along with them
until they let me graduate.

[MATT SCOFFS]

What was that like?

Oh, man, it was so weird.

Team leader Kent taught me all these things
like how to find refugees, escapees, militias...

...how to get them to trust you,
how to raise the alarm.

What does that mean, raise the alarm?

There was this whistle we're supposed
to blow if we found any outsiders.

They wanted us to track down
family members, people that would trust us.

The whistle calls a Beamer strike.

ANNE:
And then the skitters come?

MATT: No, team leaders
from the youth camp I was held in.

They capture the dissidents
and take them back to the Espheni.

Where's your whistle?

I threw it in the river as soon as I left.

I didn't want any part of that thing.

I'm so glad you found me.

Pretty lucky.

I was hiding in the woods, watching the road
for someone who would take me with them.

And then you all came along,
and I thought I saw Matt...

...but I figured it was just wishful thinking.

So you just happened to come across us?

At a Volm weapons cache.

Yeah, I had no idea.

Please, you have to believe me.

Mira, what I have to do
is keep everybody safe. Stand up.

MATT:
Dad, what are you doing?

- Dad, she's my friend.
TOM: I know. I hope that's true.

- But I'm not gonna take any chances.
- You can't leave her here.

We're not gonna leave her. She's gonna rest
while we do what we came to do.

[INDISTINCT CHATTER]

Ah. Are these tubes or tentacles?

Espheni technology
mimics a musculoskeletal system.

The cords are connected
and their movement is coordinated.

So if I pull on...

...this cord...

[WHIRRING]

DINGAAN:
Something moved. I heard something.

Try another.

[MECHANICAL RUMBLING]

That came from over here.

These two are connected.

We have to get inside these walls and
map the connections between the cords...

...create a diagnostic showing
which cords control which movements.

Which we can't get to
until the Beamer has been unearthed.

Heh. You really think those concussion
ordnances can do the trick?

Hmm.

Heh. Okay, I'll take that as a yes.

[DINGAAN SIGHS]

[INDISTINCT VOICES]

SARA: Why are you following me?
POPE: Because nobody walks away from me!

SARA:
Oh, God. Think much of yourself, Pope?

What do you care?
Do you want me to be in pain?

POPE:
Right now? Yes.

BEN: This used to be a museum.
SARA: Just leave me alone.

- Shut up already.
- What?

No, not you.
I can hear Pope and Sara's conversation...

...and Pope's being a jerk.
Sara's voice is this really shrill voice.

You'll get used to that.

- You listen to everyone's conversations?
- No, not anymore. You, um...

You learn to tune things out.

SARA: You know what? Get lost.
- God, I want them out of my head!

Focus on something else. Come here.

- It's okay. We could easily make this jump.
- No, no. I don't want to.

- It's a piece of cake. Come on. I'll show you.
- Ben, just leave me alone.

All right? Back off.

It's okay. I know it feels weird.

It doesn't feel weird. It feels invasive,
like something's crawling inside of me...

...taking over
and there's nothing I can do about it.

Maggie, one day,
you're gonna love your new powers.

You're gonna be stronger
and more badass than ever.

That sounds pretty sweet.

It is.

Trust me?

Three, two, one.

[CHUCKLING]

You Okay?

My hands are killing me.

Well, I can't untie you.

I understand.

I missed you so much.

I missed you too.

[GRUNTS]

Do they really hurt?

The rope is cutting into me.
He tied it too tight.

[SIGHS]

I know I'm gonna regret this.

MIRA:
Don't be silly.

Thank you, Matt, really.

Here.

It was really hard in the camp after you left.

Well, I wanted to make you come with us,
but...

I know.

But you know what?

I'm actually glad I didn't.

I learned so much.

What do you mean?

We were wrong about everything.

You really should've stayed.

[BLOWING WHISTLE]

No.

No, seriously,
that's the most amazing I've ever felt.

I don't know how you're not
jumping off of roofs all the time.

- I'd be up there every chance I got.
- Well, uh...

I kind of was in the beginning.

I'd sneak out at night and jump or run...

...faster than I've ever run before in my life,
almost like I was in a race, and--

Except, it was only a race with myself.

Eventually I realized
I was freaking people out...

...so I brought it down
to a need-to-jump basis.

I think I'm gonna need to jump a lot.

We can jump together.
We'll just warn everybody first.

Deal.

How are you feeling?

Like, great, amazing.

I mean, your pain from the transplant,
is it still there?

No. It's gone.

I'm just realizing...

Gone.

The spikes are starting to understand
that they're part of you.

You make it seem like
they've got a mind of their own.

They do.

This isn’t just a physical strength.

There's an alien life-form
fusing with your human DNA.

It wants to control all of you.

- It wants?
- Yes.

It has feelings, desires...

...stronger than anything you've ever felt.

So I'm gonna be really,
really mad sometimes?

And really, really hungry.

Oh, no.

And curious and afraid...

...and sometimes really, really...

...in love, and...

When you're happy, you're ecstatic.

Sometimes I think about life
before the invasion...

...when we were back in Boston...

...sitting in my room, reading a book...

...and I feel so happy, I can't stop smiling.

But then...

What?

I think about my mom.

Losing my mom.

It works both ways.

I can feel your sadness, like...

Like it's mine.

That's new. Um...

We're just gonna have to
get used to that too.

You have to be careful from now on, that...

It's easy to get overwhelmed
and lose yourself until...

...you learn to control your power.

All right.

How do I do that?

Use it.

Ready to have some fun?

[GRUNTING]

WEAVER:
Good.

COCHISE: Weapons.
- We'll take them.

Ah. Oh, outstanding.
Now, be very careful with this.

ANNE:
What is it?

Subspace communicator.

Highly tuned to all manner
of Espheni communications.

This will enhance our ability
to cut through enemy firewalls...

...to contact Volm reinforcements
light-years away.

You break it, you buy it.

What about the concussion ordnance?
Wasn't that the reason for our joyride here?

- Dad! Dad!
- Let me go.

TOM:
I thought I told you to leave her back there.

I shouldn't have untied her,
but her hands hurt.

And she had this in her shoe,
and she blew it.

You wanna explain yourself?

No.

Let me forgive you, Tom Mason.

WEAVER:
Oh, God, she's on their side.

- We need to get the hell out of here.
TOM: Everybody take cover! This way!

MATT:
Mira! Mira!

- I haven't located the concussion ordnance.
WEAVER: Let's go!

You got something to say to me?

Not particularly, no.

No?
Really, not a word to say?

You're gonna stand there,
debating me on what I haven't said?

Unbelievable.

You know what's unbelievable?

You never have to wonder
what a person's really like...

...I mean, really like on the inside...

...because the more you get to know them...

...and they reveal themselves.
They'll show you exactly who they are.

Do you mind?

Just so I understand
this revelation of yours...

...what exactly do you think
that I told you I was?

That you're an addict.

That means you're weak.

And you're a liar.

Now, I'm not the one to judge...

...but this isn't my first rodeo. I know addicts,
and I am not gonna be the one...

...that you use...

...and you lie to...

...and then move along.

So bye-bye.

In what way did I use you?

Tell me!
In what way did I use you?

I was fine before I met you.

I'd never been attacked by skitters.
I had never killed anything.

But I fought with you, side by side,
risking my life for you.

And you see me with one pill bottle...

...and your go-to response is that
I am a liar and a user?

You know what I think?

- I think you're afraid.
- Ha-ha-ha.

I think you're afraid of what we might be.

Spare me the analysis.

I'm not interested.

Obviously not.

You know what's in this bottle?

Vicodin!

Aspirin.

The labels got mixed up
when everything went to crap.

You do actually have to look
to know what's inside.

TOM: Matt.
ANNE: Matt.

- Have you seen Matt?
- I think he went that way.

TOM:
It's the team leaders from the youth camp.

Go, Joe, go! Go!

[GUNFIRE]

Mira, help me.

It's too late for that.

[MATT WHIMPERS]

WOMAN:
This one isn't going anywhere. Get him!

[GUNFIRE CONTINUES]

Mira, help me.

[MATT GROANING]

WEAVER:
Cochise!

[PANTING]

That stun should hold them for a few hours.

ANNE:
I can't see in this thing.

TOM:
The air's okay here.

You can take it off.

- I'm empty. You all right?
- I got nothing left. Yeah, I'm fine.

We need to find better cover than this.

- Aah!
TOM: Anne!

[GROANS]

TOM:
You all right?

ANNE:
I'm okay.

TOM:
Stay where you are.

[PANTING]

KENT: Tom Mason,
this is team leader Kent Matthews.

We have your son, Matt. He is subdued.

He's being collected right now.

We don't want to hurt you, Tom.

We're here to take you to safety.

The war is over.

Our Espheni brothers wanna welcome us
into their society.

Please, come with us, Tom.

[GUN CLICKING]

[CHUCKLES]

You're out of bullets, Tom.

Now it's just a matter of time.

Come out. I won't attack.

Truce.

Those fumes are toxic, Torn.
That container could explode at any moment.

You better come out.

Hey, wait!

TOM: Anne?
- Hey, wait!

[KENT GROANING]

TOM:
How could you do this to your own people?

Progress is made
when we embrace our Espheni brothers.

I'm not a traitor.

I'm a new patriot.

Tom.

I gave them my mother.

[GASPING]

WEAVER:
Here you are. Here you are.

There he is. Hey.

Dad.

[ANTHONY GRUNTING]

You decided to stay?

What are you talking about?

I figured you were going with Sara.

Yeah, she came by a few hours ago...

...picked up a rifle, a couple days' rations.

Oh, and she said she knew of a nearby farm
where there might be some food.

I just assumed you were going with her.

Okay, let's see what you can do.

Bull's-eye.

Keep going.
Plenty more where that came from.

How do you like me now?

I like you too much.

God.

[PANTING]

- Oh, I'm so sorry.
- No.

- I shouldn't have done that.
- I'm glad you did, but...

Hal.

Yeah.

Oh, my God, am I going crazy? I--

Since I woke up with the spikes,
I feel I get drawn to you.

Yeah, and you didn't before?

No, I love-- I love Hal.

This...

This feels different.
God, this is so intense.

I....

I really wanna kiss you right now.

Don't.

I know. I know.

I know. I know.

Oh, God.

WEAVER: Looks like we're in the clear,
for the time being.

I owe you all an apology.

I misled you, put you at unnecessary risk...

...and we did not even retrieve
the essential item we came for.

We'll just have to dig a little harder
when we get back, Cochise.

How are you doing?

It hurts,
like a thousand needles sticking into me.

Bet it does.

Sorry about being such an idiot about Mira.

You're 13.

Puppy love's not easy,
especially when it's life-and-death.

It's not puppy love, Dad.

I'd tell you to forget about her,
but I doubt you could.

You should try to remember
the feeling you had for her.

The feeling's important.

But why?

Because it's rare
when you meet somebody...

...who cares about you
as much as you do about them.

- Hey.
- Hey, how did things go with Maggie?

- Fine.
- Good.

Hey.

Those spikes of yours,
they help you heal quickly, right?

- Yeah.
- Good.

[GRUNTS]

You were supposed to help Maggie adjust
to her spikes.

- It's not open season on my girlfriend.
- I'd never--

You know what, Ben,
just save it, because I saw you.

And, look, I get it. She's gorgeous,
she's amazing, but she's mine.

I'm sorry.
I didn't see your leash on her.

Just stay away from her.

TOM:
Hey, everybody.

I was starting to worry about you.

We ran into a little trouble,
but we made it out.

BEN:
Dad.

Everything go okay?

What happened to your face?

Nothing.

Okay.

- Dingaan?
- Ah.

- How goes the alien small-engine repair?
- Not great.

The rubble prevents us
getting to the necessary controls.

Were you able to bring back that tool
to help us raise the Beamer?

- No, we got ambushed.
- The cache was destroyed.

Back to square one.
It wouldn't be the first time.

Let's get these weapons and supplies
stowed before we get some shuteye.

I did find this.

Supposedly, this can call Beamers.
I don't know if it's a tone or a frequency.

- See what you can do with it. Be careful.
- Do not blow that.

- I'll take it to Shaq right away. Coming?
- Yeah.

Now...

Anything you boys need to tell me?

No.

Okay.

So let me see if I remember this correctly.

We were surrounded. The situation sucked.

There was only one way out
and that's for one of us to be dead, me...

...one of us to be smart and stay alive, you.

Those are the basic rules of engagement.

Used to teach it
at Bunker Hill Community College.

Oh, give me a break.

But instead of doing the smart thing,
you, if my memory serves...

...ran out without a weapon,
without a plan...

...and yelled-- What was it, again?
"Hey, wait"?

I didn't know what to say.

"Hey, wait"?
That was your big master kamikaze plan?

"Hey, wait, look over here.
Wait, don't shoot him! Shoot me!"

I thought you were going to die.

I know.

I probably would have done
the same dumb-ass thing...

...if you were the one getting shot at.

But I've been thinking.

Maybe there's a reason
the bullets missed you.

When you said to me,
"If we survive this, we'll figure out the rest"...

...that was very hard for me to hear, because
I don't really know what the rest means.

But then I realized I don't really care.

Whether it's a long time or a short time...

...I just wanna spend it with you...

...if you'll have me.

- That sounds like--
- It is.

- Oh, my God.
- I'm not saying it's gonna be easy.

But will you marry me?

Yes.

Wait. How do we know
we're doing the right thing?

I don't. We don't.

But I have hope.

Yes.

Yes.

[GRUNTING]

Mm.

I promise to always have your back in a
firefight and I promise to try not to get killed.

I promise to do the same.

WEAVER:
So, Anne...

...do you take this man...

...for better, for worse...

...for richer, for poorer...

...in sickness or in health...

...till death do you part?

Yeah. I do.

I do too.

Well, as far as I'm concerned,
you may kiss the bride.

[ANNE CHUCKLES]

[WEAVER CLEARS THROAT]

SHAQ:
Tom Mason.

I must speak with you.

For God's sake, we're having a wedding.

You may resume your ritual after
I speak to Tom Mason about the Beamer.

[SIGHS]

Beamer is important.

Congratulations.

[CROWD MURMURING]

So why the hell did you interrupt?

SHAQ: I have been deconstructing
the Espheni whistle you brought back.

You were correct.

It communicates directly with the Beamer,
engaging the engine.

Okay, what else can it do?

Can it access the homing beacon
on the moon?

A different signal is required to direct
the Beamer to a certain location, but...

But he's saying it's one hell of a start,
you crazy son of a bitch.

I was able to isolate the homing amplitude
of the whistle.

It is an ultrasonic frequency
that humans can't hear...

...and human tech
wouldn't know to look for.

I've captured the signal
within this communicator.

TOM:
Okay.

How does it help us?

[BLOWS WHISTLE
THEN MECHANICAL RUMBLING]

Whoa, whoa.

Stay back!

Back!

[WHIRRING]

[PEOPLE YELLING]

[CHATTERING]

I guess that's how.

We choose to go to the moon.
