Another perfect enticement
to draw out Renée Palmer.

I can bring back the greatest
Resistance fighter of our time.

- Welcome back Boone.
- An enemy that can harm us.

Are you insane?

William Boone I presume.

You presume correctly Renée Palmer.

Boone will come after us,
and Miss Palmer will be with him when he does.

- We get them both.
- You steal three years of my life from me.

Actually it was Zo'or,
but I'm happy to take the credit.

Boone!

If I'm gonna help you win this war, then you need
the best of me, and I can't give you this right now.

We're running out of time.

I just hope there's a world to come back to
when you decide to rejoin it.

White rose in the wind.

Such a lovely fragrance...

Renée.

Nice to see you too.

Actually...

I'm very happy to see you.

It's just unexpected.

I have something to show you.

We got this crystal from an Atavus
hive under Stonehenge.

Street determined that it can be engaged by
positioning it at a 72 degree angle to the Star Rigel.

There.

Tate, they've activated the crystal.

I'm triangulating the exact location.
it's somewhere in Nepal.

I'm all over it, boss.

These star bursts?

The locations of all the other hives.

The alien killers lying in stasis
all over the planet, just,

waiting to be reawakened
so they can feed on us.

And Howlyn can't find them without this map.

Right,

I need to destroy them
before Howlyn finds them.

I need someone with me
who can go nose to nose with the aliens.

I need you.

Tate,

I'm transmitting the exact coordinates.

Got 'em.

Don't you get it?

With this information we can take out all the hives.

This is not just about us.

What's so funny?

I missed you.

Damn!

- What?
- The crystal.

Don't worry. I'll get it.

Cover me.

We got to get out of here.

Looks like your only choice
is to work together, huh?

Yeah lucky me.

Move.
Follow me.

Don't let them out of here alive.
Go... go!

In the twenty-first century,

an alien species known as the Taelons
came to Earth with a promise of peace.

They lied...

Their true agenda was to dominate us.

After years of struggle
the Taelons have perished

living more aggressive beings in their wake,

the Atavus.

My name is Renée Palmer.

My mission is to stop this new species
from dominating our planet.

This is Earth Final Conflict.

Season 5 Episode 8
"BOONE'S ASSASSIN"

Love the daisies.

Hey, you!

Hi.

- Hey. I'm still mad at you.
- And I'm mad at you.

That's a pitch frequency satellite, Street.
It only goes for about two million.

Damn, it's worth it.
Check-up my tan.

Don't you answer your global anymore?
Sandoval,

picked up our location when we activated the crystal
and sent his goons.

Luckily, I had time to pinpoint
the coordinates of one of the hives.

Well, it looks like the hive is buried underneath
an abandoned diamond mine

near Hopetown, South Africa.

We've got to get down there
and destroy it immediately,

- while we still have the edge over Howlyn.
- Slow down,

A: We don't know what condition
that abandoned mine's in.

and B: we need to try to put together a crew.

Contact our resistance sources.

Try to assemble a team.

We leave first thing in the morning.

Yes, sir.

Anything else I can do for you, sir?

I'll think of something.

And not only did we fail to kill Boone,

he's joined up with Renée Palmer again
and they've activated the crystal!

We're scanning for the beacon.

The second they activate the crystal,

one of our roving patrols will annihilate them.

Unless they've located the other hives.

Every hybrid we have

at our disposal is on maximum alert, Howlyn.

Boone's already defeated
the hybrids you sent after him.

It will take one of our warriors to kill Boone.

One who understands the human psyche.

Well, maybe you can infuse that warrior
with knowledge of human behaviour.

Is there any way we can reanimate

a deceased Atavus

by joining it with a live human?

Not with a human.

But maybe it is possible with a species
more closely linked with our own.

A Taelon?

- But you're repelled by Taelon energy.
- When we are alive, yes.

But alien energy could resurrect a dead Atavus.

Although, such a being would always

possess the soul of a Taelon.

So,

we're looking for a Taelon

that understands humanity,

and has superior intelligence and cunning.

If one ever existed...

which is highly doubtful.

There might be a Taelon

that fits the bill, Howlyn.

One that could be awakened from
the dead, so to speak.

Then,

joined with the Atavus corpse
that was discovered under the arctic.

You are an impressive
and dangerous human, Sandoval.

Do it.

- Sorry.
- Sorry.

Any word yet on Street
and the resistance crew?

No, still working on it.

- Can... can I get you something from the fridge?
- No, no thanks.

This is ridiculous.
We need to talk.

What's there to talk about?

If we're going to put our lives in each other's hands,
we need to have complete trust.

I tried that once, remember?

You took off.
Left me high and dry.

I've never lied to you.
I won't start now.

I still have something in here that
I'm trying to fill up.

And once we destroy these hives,
I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Well, your honesty is heartwarming.

It's the best I can do right now.

Fine.

Feeling a little queasy, Zo'or?

Tell me where I am.

Your energy anatomy and consciousness
have been existing in the bio-pool.

What, not even a thank you for
the man who just resurrected you?

Since you always act in
your own self-interest,

my rebirth obviously represents
an opportunity for you.

As a matter of fact, I do have a proposition.

The communality...
it is virtually silent.

What has become of the rest of the Taelons?

They joined with the Jaridians
in the hopes of creating a superior species.

Which they achieved, by the way.

The Atavus

are back.

The Atavus,

you are allied with them now?

Obviously, this proposition you refer to
involves delivering me to your Atavus masters.

It sounds so crass when
you put it that way.

I prefer to look at it as
a win-win situation.

Go on.

The Atavus leader wants you to hunt
and execute a human resistor.

Why me?

We think you're uniquely qualified,
or will be shortly.

Perhaps

I can further entice you
by revealing your target.

Commander William Boone.

With pleasure.

Now that we've got all that settled.

Care to look at your new body?

Can you not heal me?

No.
I've got a much better plan.

Out with the old, in with the new.

You're getting, what I'd call,
a complete overhaul.

And I do mean complete.

Say hello to the new
and improved Zo'or.

OK, we're close.

Remember we got a two minutes window
for evacuation after the hive is destroyed.

Unless these supports give up first.

Looks like the end of the line.

Got to be on the other side.

Get everybody back.

Get down.

Fire in the hole!

Duck and cover!

I'm not sure these beams
can take another jolt.

We'll take our chances.

All right, each chamber gets a blaster.
Let's do it.

Set the delay for 20 seconds.

Engage on my signal.

Now!

Oh, god.
I've triggered the sequence early!

Get out!
Get out now!

- Go!
- I got it! I got it!

- Forget it, it's too late!
- No, no.

No, Jonesy. No, no, no, stay back.
Stay with them.

Hang on Renée.
Hang in there.

All right, stay back.

I want you guys to clear a passage
and pass through it one by one.

Enemy arrival in just over a minute.

Here...
take these packs.

Come on, guys.

You'll never get me out in time.

Let's go. Let's move!

You already accused me
of leaving you once behind.

Twice would be really bad form.

Let's go.

It was your idea to revive Boone.

Now he's killed four of my kind.

He also led us to Renée Palmer,
which was the plan from the beginning.

And now, with an Atavus
warrior hunting them,

we'll get them both.

You are alive only because
you can be of service to me.

Agent Sandoval has made that
abundantly clear.

Yes,

but I wanted you to hear it from me.

Consider yourself heard.

As leader of the Taelons,
you were the one giving orders.

As an Atavus...

You will follow mine.

Do you want William Boone dead?

Or would you prefer to continue with this

fruitless dialogue while he
murders more of your species?

Tread lightly, Zo'or.

I will not hesitate to kill you.

If that was your intent,
I would not be standing here.

I'm curious to find out how an asexual being
like yourself feels about gaining a sexual identity...

As a female.

When the alternative is death...

quite fine.

And there these things dripping off the walls.
And it was, like, so dark.

- It was the weirdest thing I was...
- No... the Atavus?

They're not real, are they?

I mean, everybody talks about
the Taelon mutants.

Night of the living dead.

I'm telling you, it was like being
in one of those old Wes Craven flicks.

And you killed how many
of these vampire aliens?

Well, I don't know, it's easy to lose
count when you're in a fire fight, you know.

Hell, I scorched the whole damn hive.

Barkeep, another drink
for my sweetie here.

My brother and his friends are
total believers in this Atavus crap.

Hooked on that pirate website.

Personally... I think it's a crock.

It ain't no crock, baby.

Tell me what they look like then.

Well, I don't know for sure,
you know, they were still in their coffins.

You've never even seen one.
God, get out...

give it a rest.

Hey, no, don't bail on me now.

I haven't even got to the part
about the collapsed mine shaft yet.

If you change your mind, sweetheart,
my main man here knows where to find me.

Mr. Tate, there's someone here
I think you need to see.

I'm impressed.

I have given you the greatest
gift you can imagine...

Life as an Atavus.

Do not fail me.

Yeah.

Got a little excitement here
at my favorite watering hole.

Details, Tate.

Some drunk was popping off.
Made some pretty wild claims.

There better be a good reason
why I'm supposed to care.

How about this?

He raided the Atavus hive.

Where is he?

Well, lucky for us, we got a very
cooperative barkeep here.

In fact, friendly is his middle name.

Anyway, Jonesy's at the Sakura hotel, room 405.
I'll mosey on over.

No, no, it's handled.

Well, I guess I got the night off.

What have you got on tap?

You got your first lead, Zo'or.

Thanks,
I can take it from here.

You took care of me once,
remember?

I'm just returning the favor.

Plus, I'm a better medic than you, anyway.

Really?

I didn't hear any complaints when
I dressed your wound.

Oh, what could I say when
you looked so beautiful that night?

Besides, a little gangrene
never hurt anybody.

Very funny.

Look, you really can't wait for me.

You've got to get out there and
destroy the rest of the hives.

As long as we control the map,
we can afford to wait for you to heal.

Then we'll finish this job together.

I better go.

Don't put any weight on that 'till tomorrow.
Keep it elevated, lots of rest, lots of ice.

Let me help you.

- OK Doc.
- Where do you want to go?

Wherever you want to take me.

Hey...!

Far-out. I must be dreaming.

You're gorgeous.

Well, then what are you waiting for?
Get down here.

Damn, that's a hell of a set
of nails you got there.

You noticed.

Tell me where I can find your
friend William Boone.

Who?
I don't know who you're talking about?

I ain't got a clue.
He tracks me down.

When he got work.
When he wants me to work.

Did he say when he'd be contacting you?

Soon, really soon.

I'm just sitting tight
waiting for the call.

You've been great, Jonesy.

But I'm afraid out relationship
is going to have to end now.

Yeah, right,
we'll do it again sometime.

I don't think so.

Hey.

Hey, pal.

What'll it be?

A friend of mine told me I could look up him up here
but I don't see him around, maybe you can help.

- This friend got a name?
- Yeah, Jonesy.

Hey, guys.

When you think is used to be such a friendly place.

Yeah, well, my advice...

get out while you still have
full use of your limbs.

Well I...
I'd be happy too.

As soon as you tell me
the location of Jonesy.

I'd put it down!

Put it down!

OK, now, what were you saying?

Sakura hotel, room 405.

Congratulations, you've just taken
customer service to a whole new level.

- What are we at, like, 200 crunches?
- Try 30.

Look, I know you got to keep in shape to

raid these hives and everything, but...

I thought sit-ups were a solo activity.

They are,
but it's such a fun thing to do together.

Whatever happened to doing lunch?

So what's up with the ankle?

The doctor says I'll make a full recovery.

You went to the doctor?

Actually, no.

Turns out Boone's an experienced field medic.

Who knew?

I bet he's experienced.

Very cool.

It's truly gratifying to know that
my sex life can keep you so interested.

I just thought you were in, like,

celibacy mode 'till our alien bloodsuckers
moved off the planet.

I thought so too. Maybe I'm making a mistake.
I don't know.

Want to know what I think?

No.

I think,

you're scared to death of yourself.

And I think this conversation is over.

I know that acting on what you
feel in here just...

takes a different kind of courage.

And I admire you for that.

Where is that horn toad Boone, anyway?

He's...
reconnoitering with our resistance group.

As soon as he has a team back together,
we're going after more hives.

Love conquers all,
even aliens.

It sure it does, which is why
you could stop... talking.

I know.

And start crunching.

Your reckless behavior is unacceptable.

- Return to the mothership at once.
- And how productive would that be?

I seriously doubt William Boone
is walking the halls of the mothership.

Until we have a solid lead on Boone's whereabouts,
there is no reason for you to be on Earth.

It was your idea to resurrect me.

And Howlyn's holding you personally
responsible for my behavior.

Isn't he, Sandoval?

You could say that.

Then how unfortunate for you,

that my actions are completely
out of your control.

Until Zo'or kills Boone,
our hives are all at risk.

What is her progress?

She interrogated a resistance fighter
and baited the trap.

All we can do now is wait for Boone to bite.

And what exactly is Zo'or doing now?

- Following up on other leads.
- We have no other leads.

What aren't you telling me?

It seems Zo'or just fed for the first time,
and had her first taste of sex.

apparently, she enjoyed it immensely.

She's supposed to be hunting for Boone,

not sex.

- She's making up for lost time.
- She's a waste of time.

Have her return to the ship before
she causes us any more trouble.

I tried that. She'd rather stay on the surface
until she kills Boone.

I don't care what she wants!

Get her up here.

Zo'or?

Zo'or?

What are you talking about?

This symbol.
It's Zo'or's designation within the synod.

I read Taelon.

Well, who the hell wants us
to think Zo'or's still alive?

Apparently, that would be Zo'or.

You identified his energy signature?

Yep, from the tissue samples Boone
took from Jonesy's chest.

Well, how's that possible?
You saw Zo'or die in that volcano.

No, I saw his exoskeleton trashed and his
consciousness drained into the bio-pool.

But you said the volcano erupted.

That's right.
Then we dug up the chamber.

And Sandoval pulled the whole thing
up to the mothership.

And why extracted Zo'or's energy from
the bio-pool and reconstituted him?

Well, excuse me,

but apparently, your molecules were scrambled
for three years before they pulled you out of the tank.

And all your parts seem to be working OK.

But that symbol was burned
into his chest with a cleave.

- You're not saying that Zo'or is an Atavus.
- I'm not, this is.

What's your theory?

Well, they create a hybrid by combining
a human with an Atavus,

maybe they just changed the
recipe and added a Taelon.

Whether it's Zo'or or not, what we do know
is that Howlyn sent an Atavus to hunt you down.

Well, running isn't an option.

In "the Art of war",
Sun Tzu would advise

that our best bet is to manipulate the fight

by choosing the battlefield
where we have the advantage.

Extreme cold is their achilles heel.

I have a place in mind,
but we need to lure the Atavus in.

Well, they're so freaked about that crystal,
they're scanning for it 24-7.

I bet you if we engage it,
they'll show up.

But we can't engage the crystal
until the star Rigel is in position.

Which would be at about 3:00 A.M.

I guess you and blondie will just have
to figure out how to kill a couple hours.

Would you mind if I throttle her?

Well, she does have a point.

Maybe I was wrong in assuming
you could handle this mission.

To the contrary.

I'm thriving.

All you've done so far is have sex
with our one live connection to Boone,

then kill him,

then feed on his life force.

The more I understand
my new capabilities,

the better prepared
I'll be when I face William Boone.

Wouldn't you agree?

- You'll have to find him first.
- I beg to differ.

He'll find me.

What was the greatest power
you had as leader of the Taelons?

The power over life and
death of course.

Exactly!

And you realize

that the fate of your life

and death

now lies solely in my hands.

You won't kill me.

Make no mistake, Zo'or.

If you displease me,

I will.

So, do we need to go over
any part of the plan again?

We've been through it
ten times, that's enough.

This isn't right, Renée.

- What?
- You, coming with me.

We've been over this.
It's not up for discussion.

We barely stand a chance
against them together.

But my death won't
cripple the Resistance...

you're the one leading
the fight against the aliens.

We can't afford to lose you.

And I can't afford to lose you.

...

It's almost three.

I'm going to head up and engage
the crystal through the skylight.

I'll finish up.

Just make sure you lead the Atavus down here.
It's our best chance.

Right.

You wait here while
I go inside and kill Boone.

I'm still in charge of this mission, Zo'or.

We'll go in together.

And leave the shuttle unguarded?

How will Howlyn react if it's stolen?

If you're not back in ten minutes,
I'm coming in after you.

I'm touched.

You look better as a woman, Zo'or.

As much as I hate to admit it,
it is quite an improvement.

Ah, well, we'll see.

You don't look so bad yourself
after three years in stasis.

Of course,

it never was my intention
to keep you there for so long.

It's just that you were so entertaining.

Entertaining?

Certainly.

Your consciousness was mine to explore.

Your memories, feelings, desires...

everything.

See, that's the problem with you, Zo'or.

You're always on the outside looking in.

I didn't think we could hurt you more
than when we murdered your wife.

But killing your best friend and
stealing your sister came close.

Yeah, you've stolen everything from me,

which makes me a dangerous man.

Cause there's nothing left for you to take.

Except your life.

Come on!

Now!

Freeze!
So to speak.

Bring me the crystal.

Get up here, now!

Such a shame.
All that work and nothing to show for it.

Give me that crystal.

You want it?
Go get it!

No!

Damn it!

Let's go, let's go!

Now that the crystal has been destroyed,
neither one of us knows the location of the hives

and William Boone still eludes us.

He can't run forever.

Zo'or has all the appetites we have,

but no sense of duty.

She had the same weakness as a Taelon.

Her life signs are still strong.

I've no doubt we could revive her.

But could you trust her?

Or would you always be looking over your
shoulder waiting for Zo'or to betray you?

It's devastating to lose a
female of our species.

Especially one so appealing.

But you are quite right.

Terminate her.

So, you're done with your Gandhi
on the mountaintop thing?

Yeah, I guess Renée was right about me.

I'm a soldier,
I always will be.

At least until the Atavus are driven out.

Yeah, well, I'm with you so far,
but here's where I lose it.

You two can't be together?

This is a guerrilla war.

And it'll stay that way unless we can get
some hard evidence to prove our case.

Until we can make people believe us,

it's too dangerous for Renée and me
to be in the same location.

Where they can take us both at the same time.

So we're never gonna hang out?

Well,
we'll have to pick our spots.

Thanks.

I don't care what she tells you,
she's gonna be a mess.

- I'll try remember that.
- Yeah.

I'm going now, Renée.

Cristina will meet you at
the Barcelona portal.

She'll hook you right into
the resistance in Europe.

You got to get them turned around if
we have any chance to defeat the Atavus.

I'll do my best.

Sounds like we have a long
way to go over there.

We do,

but you're up to it.

I didn't plan on it ending
like this for us.

I know.

It has to be this way.
It's just...

hard.

I know.

Go.
