Departure (2019): Season 1, Episode 6 - End Game - full transcript

Kendra comes up with a plan to confront the Flight 716 conspirators and expose the cover-up.

-Previously onDeparture.
- Moses...

- Who's Moses?
- [I want an assurance]

that the name Hassan Esmaili
will stay secret.

- Did you find anything
on Hoffman?

- He was the man in the raft and
Hoffman did work in aviation.

- We were safety consultants,
part of various red teams

that tested
for aircraft vulnerabilities.

- Kendra! I'm sorry.
I screwed up.

[They're after me.]
- AJ?

- I know this is hard,
but you'll need to step away.

Everyone,
by now you've all heard

about Kendra.
Levi will take her place.

-Do they know
how our call was recorded?

- Apparently,
it was Malley's son.

- I sent a Trojan to one
of your email groups.

- You clicked
on the bloody attachment.

-British Global Air has never,
and will never,

compromise on safety.
- You world class bullshitter.

- That's Hassan Esmaili...
- Bloody Mossad agent.

-What's he doing
in the captain's seat?

- Why did you leak this
without consulting me?

Did you even try to think
through the consequences?

- You broke our deal.
- Not me.

Janet Freeh.
- If the man in the cockpit

is identified as Hassan Esmaili
then operations will be exposed

and lives put at risk.
Janet promised us

she'd keep this under wraps.
- I know. She's desperate.

- Why?
- MI5 must know

that the black box data
will debunk any sort

of pilot suicide theory.
Now they're trying

to shift the blame to Hassan.
- Terrorism is

the public's
worst fear.

MI5 can take over
and trust me,

they'll handle it.
- Oh,

like you handled
the flight simulator?

Or, uh, your surprise witness,
Mister Littlefield?

- You were supposed to control
your team, Howard.

We wouldn't be
having this conversation

if you'd stopped them
from finding the black boxes.

- Ah! We have no idea
what's on those black boxes.

There's no clue that they will
support terrorism.

- It's your job
to make it fit, Howard.

I had Janet leak the photo.

- An Iranian pilot bringing down
a British airliner?

Do you want to start
a bloody war?

- That's not our concern here.
We need you to build

a credible terrorism case.
It's in our best interests

to offload to MI5.

They have a history
of discretion.

- If you'll excuse me.

(door opens)

(door closes)

- Why would we help you?
- Look,

people went to great lengths
to cover up

what crashed Flight 716.
Now they'll use Hassan

to bury the truth, even if
it costs your agents' lives.

- We'll keep an eye on her.

(applause)
- Ah, well done, Nadia!

You've truly gone
above and beyond.

Ah, Theo ready these
for data collection.

- Yeah.
- You must be exhausted.

- Ah, no! Howard, I'm fi...
- But don't-don't worry.

He'll-he'll handle it.
He'll handle it. You rest.

- I don't know but Maddy said
Hoffman kept saying:

"MOSIS did it."
Could he have meant software,

or some sort of virus
that he planted?

- Maybe. But she also said
Hoffman was panicked, afraid.

Doesn't really vibe
with someone who's trying

to crash a plane.
- [True.]

Look, I'm going to circle back
to Stefon Tark at King's

and see what he knows about
this MOSIS. Meet you there?

- I can't. Got to stay here
at Scotland Yard.

I've shown them the evidence
that Derek Strong was murdered,

but it's going to take
a damn sight more convincing

to get them to investigate
255 airplane passengers.

- Got it. Keep me posted, yeah?
- Kendra, wait!
- Yeah?

- They've pulled a body
out of the Thames last night.

- What?

The same man who tried
to kill you and A.J.

[I think they're trying
to snip off all the loose ends.]

I've arranged
for police protection of A.J.

[You need to let me do
the same for you.]

the outrageous speculation

that the man we loved

he was capable of such
an evil and cowardly act.

What does it stand for?

It was BGA's in-house build.

The airline wanted
proprietary rights

- Okay. And-and what does it do?

an impressive program.

It provided the basis for
the current in-flight
entertainment system.

I think they call it,
uh... 'NAVI' now?

What'd you want to show me?

Actually, the only
online presence we found

was his gamer name HoffMaster69.

was searched,

no gaming console was found
on the inventory list.

- Janet could have destroyed it.

But then I decided
to follow him anyways.

- Yeah.
(cellphone ringing)

- Hey. You've got
impeccable timing.

I'm putting you
on speaker.

some kind of vulnerability

and the airline shut him down.
