#DUPE# (1992–…): Season 2, Episode 26 - No Need for a Conclusion! - full transcript

Tenchi narrates this stirring epiloge to the Tenchi Universe saga! Find out the ultimate fates of all your favorite characters!

And so Kagato, the man who claimed

to be the emperor and king of
planet Jurai had been vanquished.

And I suppose that was
when I realized for the first time

the reason why Grandpa
decided not to take the throne.

We were proven innocent of
treason and all other charges,

and Ayeka was free to become
one of Jurai's royal family.

The truth was finally
broadcast all over the universe

and, of course, caused quite a
stir among the general public.

The media made such a big deal out of it,

but I felt as though the whole thing
had been a dream, now that it was over.

Ayeka was very generous

and decided not to punish
anyone involved in the incident,

but as you might imagine many of
those responsible for the conspiracy

left their jobs of their own accord.

And as for my Grandpa...

Come on, everyone.

Did you think I was going to die that easily?

- You know me better than that, don't you?
- Here's a hot towel for you.

- Oh, great. Thank you.
- Here's a hot towel for you.

Needless to say, Grandpa
and Dad couldn't be happier.

- We're ready to go.
- We're ready to go.

Okay, then. I'm transmitting energy now.

Hello, everyone.

- Good morning!
- Good morning!

The guardians, Azaka and Kamidake
were brought back to life safely,

and the two knights... that is
the original Azaka and Kamidake...

are enjoying their lives as humans again.

- One...
- Not so fast.

Take that! Take that!

- And that!
- I've got you now!

- There!
- Oops. Oh, no!

Azaka's completely
hooked on that video game,

so he looks up to Sasami as his master
and is now serving as her apprentice.

Now, this time I'll win, so let us play!

Washu was elected as honorary president
of the Universal Science Academy.

Thanks. Although I think it's
quite natural for me to be appointed

honorary president of the science academy,

I still feel very moved, moved
to the point of tears, almost.

What I say next comes
from the bottom of my heart.

I hereby pledge that my scientific skills
will be employed only in the pursuit of peace!

A month later, it was discovered
that Washu was developing a weapon

that would destroy the universe
and she was kicked out of the academy.

Bet you had a hard time guessing that.

Mihoshi and Kiyone
returned to the Galaxy Police.

Kiyone, who had had more than her
share of bad luck in life, was finally happy.

She got a promotion to the
position of detective sergeant.

Sarge, I brought you some tea.

Ah, thanks.

What is this stuff?!

Making a decent cup of tea
can't be that difficult, can it?!

You know who made great tea?
Sasami made great tea, that's who.

Err... sorry about that.

I'll make it better next time.

Frankly, Mihoshi seems to be avoiding

her responsibilities as a
chief criminal prevention officer.

She's always hanging around with
Kiyone, but they seem to be doing fine.

Who I cannot tell you about is Ryoko.
Her whereabouts are still unknown.

Hey...

What can I get you?

Have you seen this woman around?

I'm sorry. No.

Is she a friend of yours?

- What?!
- Huh?

Are you kidding?

What are you looking at?

Huh?

Just the scenery of Jurai.

It's so beautiful.

Which place is more beautiful
to you, the Earth or Jurai?

Both places are beautiful.

This planet has some
things the Earth doesn't have

and the Earth has some
things that Jurai doesn't have.

I suppose you're right.

So lovely. So wonderful.

Ohh... are you really leaving?

Mm-hmm.

Sasami?

We'll meet again, won't we, Tenchi?

Of course.

Tenchi.

Princess Ayeka would
like to see you, Tenchi.

Well, my vacation is over now, Tenchi.

This time, I'm afraid, it's over for good.

Your decision to leave is not
going to change, is it, Tenchi?

No.

You could have everything you ever wanted,
if you accepted the throne, you know.

Do you really think so, Ayeka?

Maybe if I had been raised by Jurai's
royal family from the start, Ayeka,

but then I wouldn't have all those wonderful
memories with you and everyone else.

All those experiences are
not allowed Jurai's emperor.

Probably not.

Well, I'm sorry, but I guess I'm
supposed to live an ordinary life

without much responsibility.

I think I'm like Grandpa that way.

And I am supposed to live my life as
the crown princess, as I have all along.

Huh?

And I'm proud I have because
this is the only life I know, Tenchi.

Ayeka.

I really want to thank you very much.

I want to thank you for a
really wonderful vacation, Tenchi.

I will not see you off
when you leave, Tenchi,

but I sincerely hope your journey
back to the Earth will be a safe one.

And that was the last time I saw Ayeka.

So I'm back on Earth again.

Ryu-Oh's tree has grown so tall.

It's spring now.

I'm back in school again,

and the days I spent in space
were regarded as an excused absence.

Everything is just like
before: Calm and peaceful.

Just ordinary, everyday life. No problems.

Grandpa hasn't changed a bit.

Hello.

Who would ever imagine that
a Shinto priest in a small town

could have been the ruler of the universe?

Dad's still diligently going to the office,
complaining about the long commute.

Here you go.

He hasn't changed, either.

We still have the karaoke
set we bought in space.

We've never used it
since we came back to Earth.

It just sits there in the corner
of the room collecting dust.

Like I said... calm and peaceful.

"For Rent"

Hurry up, Mihoshi or we're
gonna be late for work again!

Oh, Kiyone, wait for me, please!
I'll be there in a minute.

Mihoshi, you always make us late!

Hey, Tenchi!

Huh?

The hot tub is ready.

Why don't you go ahead and take a bath?

Thank you. I'm coming.

Just an ordinary
bathroom now. Nothing special.

I'm off to school now. Good-bye!

Tenchi, we are having fun, aren't we?

Every day here is like a carnival.

I hope it's going to be like this forever.

Tenchi?

Now those days seem like a dream to me,

sort of like a carnival
I thought would never end.

I remember when it all started.

It started when I saw Ryo-Ohki
falling to Earth, but... it's all over now.

The carnival is gone.

Tenchi.

Hey.

Tenchi!

I told you I was a space
pirate and a powerful one,

and I have come to steal you away.

Ryoko, I thought...

Now, don't you worry.
I'm not gonna do anything violent.

This is what I'm gonna do.

I'm gonna confront Ayeka, and
win your heart in the fairest of fights.

Well, come on now.

You don't think Ayeka's going
to give you up that easily, do you?

- Now... there!
- Princess Sasami, we've got a situation here!

I found this note in Princess Ayeka's room.

Huh?

No way! Ayeka's decided to run away!

I'm going back there, too!

Uh... Princess Sasami!

Please, hold on a minute!

- Princess Sasami?
- Princess Sasami, come back!

Princess Sasami!

Oh, no. What now?

What are we going to do?

I'm telling you, I just know they're
all coming back here, definitely.

"For Rent"

You know what, Tenchi?

The carnival comes and goes.

If you wait for a while,
it'll always come back to you.

I guess you're right, Ryoko.

I guess you're right.

"Tenchi Muyo!"
