Catfish: The TV Show (2012–…): Season 4, Episode 8 - Whitney & Bre - full transcript

After meeting on an LGBT site four years ago, a couple has yet to even engage in a video chat.

>> I'm so confused.

Or I'm not.

She played us.

>> We figured it out.

>> But we're here.

>> Did she really think we

wouldn't figure it out?

I just can't believe this.

So what do we do?

>> What do you guys think

we should do?

>> What should we do?

>> This is definitely

a Catfish first.

"Catfish puppet parody."

Here it is.

>> Welcome back to Catfish.

Oh, look, an email.

Let's read it.

>> I love this girl

from the internet.

Call me, brah.

[laughter]

We talk every day, but she

doesn't video chat.

>> That came out yesterday.

>> It just came out, yeah, yeah.

Oh, look, we got an email, Max.

[laughter]

"East to West: Is Love

in Between?"

"Hi, Nev and Max, my name

is Whitney.

I am 27, and I live in

Brooklyn, New York.

Currently I live with my family,

and I am a closer at Wendy's.

I have been in an on-again,

off-again relationship with Bre,

who lives in California.

Four years ago, I met Bre on

a social media site called

Downelink.

I fell in love with Bre

because she gets me.

The only thing that keeps us

apart is the distance."

>> * Like a chest

* Of hidden gold

* Shimmers in the depths below

>> "I fell in love with someone

who I have not met, but we both

agree that if we were close,

we would be official."

>> *We are fire *

* And our love will burn

* Oh oh oh

* We will glow

>> "I have tried to video chat

with Bre, but it never

works out.

There's always an excuse

why she can't."

>> Four years, that's a lot

of different...

>> If you've been talking for

that long and you can't

video chat with someone...

>> Then get a new girlfriend.

>> "Within the four years,

I have only accumulated

a few pictures of her.

I have asked her to be friends

on Facebook, but it just never

worked out."

>> I've never heard of the

excuses to like, "Friend me

on Facebook."

"I--I will.

I'll friend you later today."

>> Yeah, we got some serious

problems already.

"I love her because she is

my best friend, but I am

at a standstill.

I need to know if there is ever

going to be a real relationship

between us, and it's now

or never.

Hope to talk to you soon."

I think we should call Whitney.

Let's do it.

[line trilling]

>> Whitney.

>> Yo!

>> Hey.

>> What up, Brooklyn?

>> Yeah, Brooklyn is in

the house.

>> And what neighborhood did

you say you live in?

>> I live in Bed-Stuy

with four of my brothers

and my mom.

>> What do you do in Bed-Stuy?

Oh, you work at Wendy's.

>> I'm working there now, yes,

but I want to go back to school

for culinary arts.

>> What is it about Bre's

personality that you like

so much?

>> We like a lot of the same

things, like, a lot of the

same things, as far as music,

movies, art.

She gets me.

Like, she's funny.

Even when I don't want to smile,

she makes me.

She's my best friend.

>> Are you talking to Bre

on the phone?

>> Yes.

>> You've heard her voice.

>> Yes, we talk and text.

>> How has this girl evaded you?

>> One, she lives in California,

and the distance,

it's the big factor.

I'm, like, the sole breadwinner

in my house right now.

>> For your mom and your

brothers?

>> Yes, I'm the oldest.

And I do, like, six days a week,

overtime if I have to.

>> So you guys are on a pretty

tight budget.

>> Pretty much, yeah.

>> Why can't she come visit you?

>> Money is the whole issue

with her also.

>> Have you tried to video chat

with her?

>> I've downloaded ooVoo,

Skype, Tango, but nothing has

been successful.

There's either been a problem

with, like, Wi-Fi connections

or phones being broken.

>> Maybe four years ago,

those excuses worked better.

>> Four years is way too much

time, but, you know...

It's either now or never.

I want to know if our love is

true love, or is it just really,

you know, four years on

a phone conversation.

>> All right, so, look,

here's what's up.

I think we're gonna have to come

to Brooklyn...

>> Okay.

>> See if we can figure out

how to track down Bre.

>> If she's in California,

we'll take you to meet her.

>> That would be great.

At this moment, I think I'm

ready for anything right now.

>> All right, cool.

>> Bye, Whitney.

She's sweet.

>> Working hard, taking care

of her family.

>> She's, like, a good role

model.

>> Yeah.

>> Let's go.

New York.

First episode in New York.

>> Yeah.

>> Ever.

[dance music playing]

*

>> * Day one

* Told you I had a past

* You fell in love

* You fell in love

* Baby, didn't I tell you so? *

>> Made it.

*

>> * Don't dance *

* With the devil

>> Well, I can't believe we're

in New York.

Whitney doesn't have it easy,

but she's not throwing herself

a pity party.

She's tough.

Maybe she's tough because she's

got this beautiful fantasy

she can escape to.

>> Yeah.

>> Don't slip on the ice.

[line trilling]

>> Hello, it's Nev and Max.

This is what I love about

New York, is, you got to find

a place for things,

wherever they can fit.

Fire escape shoe holder.

Hi.

>> How are you?

>> Hi.

>> This is nice.

>> This is so surreal.

I feel like I'm watching TV

with you, and I'm watching

you guys.

>> I feel like I'm stuck

in a TV.

[laughter]

>> All right, so, of all the

people you could go out with

in New York City, why are you

in love with someone

in California?

>> I got to know her, like,

mentally, emotionally.

I became her friend before

we moved to the love stage.

We're falling asleep on the

phone with each other,

and things like that.

It's like, "I'm really,

really liking you."

I love her.

I've had my heart broken

more than once, and I still

believe in love.

>> A girl after your own

heart, Nev.

>> Have you guys talked about

trying to be together somehow?

>> Yeah, either I move out there

or she comes out here.

>> You would move to

California?

>> I wouldn't want to just jump

and move.

I would rather, like,

visit first.

>> Does she talk about her work

or what she does?

>> Yeah, she talks about--

>> Or her family, or?

>> She's not working right now.

>> What did she do

when she is working?

>> She was an exotic dancer.

>> She was what?

>> She was an exotic dancer.

>> She was what?

>> She was a stripper!

>> Yeah.

[laughter]

Why isn't she dancing anymore?

>> She stopped because she wants

to go back to school.

>> Why don't you show us?

>> The two pictures that I have

of her are--this is one.

>> Oh, okay, here we go.

Very pretty.

>> Hello, Bre.

>> Oh, wow.

So you saw those pictures,

and you thought...

>> Like, oh, she's pretty.

>> Oh.

>> Yeah.

>> And that's all you've seen

of her in the last four years?

>> Yeah.

>> It's odd that someone who is

an exhibitionist by profession,

that you only have two pictures.

Don't you think there's

something a little off?

>> It is a little odd

and a little off.

>> You ever feel like she's

not telling you something?

>> I want to say yes, but then

it's like no, because I don't

like being lied to.

I don't ask for nothing else.

Just don't lie to me.

I hope that I'm getting

what I give.

Because I'm being genuine with

you, I expect for you to be

genuine with me 100%.

So hopefully that's the case

that's going on.

If not...

four years of trust

and not getting it back,

that would be really hurtful

to me, because I don't trust

too many people.

>> Even though you met on

an internet dating site,

Bre seems to not have any

profile on any other website.

>> Yeah.

I've asked her, like,

"Request me on Facebook."

She was like, "Okay, no

problem."

In that same time, I've had

a death in my family

that happened, and I just, like,

basically disconnected myself

from the world.

She was like, "Okay, I sent you

a request," so I'm like, "Okay,

whenever I get back online,

I'll look at it."

So when I finally did get back

online, I had, like, 30 or 40

friend requests.

I just accepted them all,

because I didn't know which one

was her.

Like, a lot of people didn't

have their names there.

>> You could be friends with her

and not know it.

>> Yeah.

>> I want to go through

your friends on Facebook.

>> Okay.

>> So write down your

login info.

What you've got is her

current phone number.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> You know her name,

or what you think is her name.

>> I know she has a tattoo

on her leg that says,

"Luscious."

>> It says, "Luscious"?

>> Yeah.

>> So that's not a ton of info,

but it's something

to get started.

I want to help you

go on this trip.

I think you deserve the

experience, no matter

what happens.

>> Okay.

>> I am--fingers crossed--

hoping this works out.

>> All right, let's go make sure

that she is who she says she is.

>> Nice meeting you.

>> Nice to meet you too.

>> What's the deal?

>> She's gonna fall hard if Bre

is not being 100%.

>> It sounds like these two

people really could love

each other.

>> Yeah, it sounds like they

have a true connection.

>> Right, and yet, there is this

very likely element that Bre is

not the girl in those two

pictures that Whitney saw,

and the whole relationship could

come crumbling apart.

>> It could.

>> Come into my suite.

>> Is this what happens when

you're the star of the show?

'Cause I didn't get

a room like this.

>> Didn't get this room, Max?

>> No, whoa.

>> Look at this view.

>> Look at that.

Wow.

I'm taking off my jacket.

Nev, sit your ass down.

>> All right, here we go.

>> Let's get this investigation

under way.

>> All right, so 4 1/2 years

ago, Whitney is looking for

love.

She goes on an LGBT dating

website.

She finds herself talking

to Brenell, AKA Bre.

They exchange phone numbers.

>> They're soul mates.

>> But we've got two people who

are separated by 3,000 miles,

which makes meeting up hard,

not to mention that they both

have difficult financial

situations.

More than that, Bre is tough

to pin down.

She doesn't have any social

media pages.

>> She won't video chat.

They talk, though, so it's

a woman's voice she's hearing.

It's something.

>> Let's start things off

with a phone search.

Here we go.

Searching.

What do we got?

Ah, we got an L.A. phone number,

which is a good start.

>> That's promising.

Oh, it's a VoIP.

>> Like a Google Voice number.

>> Yeah.

>> Bre's always saying that she

doesn't have Wi-Fi or that she's

having problems with her Wi-Fi,

and that's why she can't

go online, and yet, when she's

saying that, she's using Wi-Fi,

because the number she's

currently--

>> Only works on the Wi-Fi.

>> Right.

>> So she's been lying about

not having Wi-Fi.

She's finding excuses not

to video chat, which means she's

not the person in the pictures.

>> It's a possibility.

>> What if you look up

the email?

Brenell [bleep].

>> Okay, so here's

a Brenell Twitter.

Los Angeles.

That's great.

>> She lives where she

says she lives.

This could be her.

>> She's cute.

>> I think Whitney

would still go for her.

>> Here's a YouTube page,

a clip of what looks like her

twerking.

>> She knows how to clap

them thighs.

She said that Bre was

an exotic dancer.

>> She goes by her name.

She lives in California.

She's just not the girl in

the two pictures that she sent.

>> No.

>> What else do we have?

>> Why don't you Google Image

search those pictures

that Whitney gave us.

>> Searching a picture.

No, no hits on that.

All right, here's the other one.

Searching.

>> Oh, we got one.

We got a match.

>> Instagram account.

Kash [bleep].

This is the girl from the

pictures.

>> There's a Facebook account.

>> Whoa.

>> The first thing we see are

the two pictures that have been

sent to Whitney.

>> She seems to be in L.A.

We have two girls that we've

found, one named Brenell

[bleep], who doesn't look like

the girl in the pictures

but lives in L.A.

Then we found the girl in the

pictures...

>> Right.

>> That Whitney gave us.

>> Kash [bleep] seems pretty

legit, because not only does she

have an Instagram, but...

>> There's a Facebook account.

>> There's a Facebook.

>> I'm curious if they know

each other.

>> Why do you think that?

>> Because they live in the

exact same part of California.

>> And so they know each other?

>> If one is using pictures

of the other, then I would

suspect that, like--

It's a big coincidence.

>> True, I guess that's

possible, right.

Maybe they're friends

on Facebook.

>> And she thinks that this girl

is maybe pretty,

or prettier than her.

>> She might even have

a crush on her.

>> Or maybe they're doing this

as a prank?

>> Who knows, right?

>> Who knows?

>> Kash is somehow linked

to all this, because her

pictures are being sent

to Whitney.

So I think we should reach out

to Kash, ask her what she knows

about Brenell, see what we

can find out.

"Hey, Kash, this is Nev

from the MTV show Catfish.

It appears someone might be

using your photos.

We would love to speak with you

to clear this up, thanks."

>> Send it.

>> Sent.

We don't have all the

answers yet.

I think Whitney's gonna be upset

when she finds out that the girl

in the pictures is not the girl

she's talking to.

>> We don't know why she's

lying, and that's the one thing

Whitney said: "My only big

deal-breaker is being lied to."

She did say that.

>> Everyone says that.

Let's wait to hear back

from Kash and go from there.

That was good work, dude.

[knock at door]

>> [laughs]

>> Ahh!

>> Aah!

>> [laughs]

Wow, I can't believe that

worked.

That's what this is for.

This is the scare hole.

>> Did you get an email?

Here we go.

>> Oh, Kash [bleep].

>> She wrote back, "Hi, Nev,

I got your message.

Call me when you can."

>> So what are we're gonna

ask her?

>> First of all, we need to ask

her if she's in a relationship

with a girl named Whitney.

>> And if she's not talking

to Whitney, does she know

Brenell?

>> All right, here we go.

>> Hey, good morning,

it's Nev and Max from Catfish.

>> Hey, how's it going?

>> Do you know a girl

named Whitney?

>> The next question we had

for you was, do you know

a young lady named Brenell?

She goes by Bre, but Brenell--

>> Oh, okay.

>> Has anyone online ever been

using your profile picture?

>> What was her explanation?

>> Did Bre ever tell you if she

met anyone using your photos?

>> We were trying to find some,

like, social media pages

for Bre.

>> Lucious B [bleep].

All right, well, look, it was

really nice to meet you.

Thank you for your help.

>> Let's look up her

Facebook page.

Oh, here she is.

Oh, boy.

Here's that picture that we saw.

Ready, remember?

Whoa.

>> Whoa.

>> She was a stripper.

>> There's the "lucious" tattoo.

>> Yeah, this is the girl.

Now we know Brenell's

real Facebook page.

I'm willing to bet...

>> That she's already friends

with Whitney.

>> Let's go to her friends.

Let's just look at her friends.

>> Brenell's friends?

>> Yeah.

>> All right, let's see

who she's following.

>> Oh, oh.

>> Not friends there.

>> They may not be friends

right now, but it's possible

that at one point they may have

sent messages.

Let's log in to Whitney's

Facebook page.

>> So now we're gonna creep

through her messages.

>> Well, we're not gonna creep.

We're just gonna look.

We can search Whitney's

messages, look.

>> We can?

>> Yeah.

Wait a second.

Here's a message between Whitney

and Lucious B [bleep].

>> They've talked.

>> So Lucious said, "Hey, boo,

how is everything going?

Where are you now?"

>> What year is this from?

>> This is 2011.

>> How far does it go?

>> It goes--whoa.

Oh, my god, wow, they talked

a lot.

>> Wait, this is a full

relationship.

Do they know each other?

Look, 2014.

>> Oh, my god.

>> They were talking

in December.

January 19th.

That was a week ago.

Do you think Whitney

is messing with us?

Is that what's happening

right now?

>> "Hey, luv, get on ooVoo?"

Luv?

>> Wait, get on ooVoo?

I thought she couldn't

get on ooVoo.

>> That doesn't make any sense.

>> It looks like they've been

video chatting since 2011.

>> Do you think Whitney just--

Whitney and Brenell

talk extensively.

They're having an almost daily

exchange for the past

four years.

>> I'm so confused.

Or I'm not.

>> She's lying to us.

She's got to be lying to us.

She's got to know that Lucious

is Brenell [bleep].

They're very good friends.

>> So Whitney is screwing

with us.

She's--she played us.

>> We figured it out.

>> But we're here.

We got catfished.

Whitney--is that even

her real name?

>> We don't even know if

anything she's told us is real.

>> I mean, we don't even know

if they're in love.

>> Did they want to be on TV?

>> Yeah, Lucious...

>> She's got a career maybe

she's trying to pursue.

>> Lucious is no stranger

to the camera.

There have to be easier ways

to meet than to write into

a television show.

They're using us for a plane

ticket.

>> Did she really think we

wouldn't figure it out?

I just can't believe this.

So what do we do?

>> What do you guys think

we should do?

>> And then the episode

just ends?

>> Yeah, let's, like, watch her

squirm a little bit.

If she cops to it and it's

a love story and she just

desperately wants to meet this

person and the show is her only

way to do it, we've got to

double--triple-check that.

>> Let's call Whitney, and let's

just sort of take it one step

at a time.

[line trilling]

>> Hello, Whitney.

>> Good morning.

>> How you feeling?

Are you nervous?

>> What are you nervous about?

>> All right, well, we've been

working last night and

a little bit today.

We got some interesting topics

and things to discuss.

So we were hoping we could come

meet up with you and talk.

>> We'll see you in a bit.

>> Okay.

They did a good job getting us

here, but they didn't do

such a good job--

>> They didn't cover their

tracks.

>> This is definitely

a Catfish first.

>> * Walking down

* The hall again

>> What is she gonna say?

What is her excuse gonna be?

>> I'm mostly just torn up

because I liked Whitney so much

when we hung out with her

yesterday, and now it's, like,

actually two people who are just

using us to get something

that they want.

>> We've got an

interrogation on our hands.

>> So...

We are being played by Whitney.

>> We've already established

that Whitney is capable

of great deceit.

So we have to really question

everything she says.

>> So how are we gonna

play this?

>> I think we're gonna show

Whitney a couple of the things

that we found, and as we're

doing it, see if she has

an answer for it.

>> You ready to do this?

Ready to bust a catfish?

>> I mean, I don't think

we have a choice.

[line trilling]

>> Hello, hey, it's us.

[door buzzes]

>> Hey.

>> How you doing?

>> I'm good.

I was, like, really,

really nervous.

You guys are like CSI.

I was like, "What did they

find out?

What happened?"

>> Well, what were your

big concerns?

>> Her being who she says

she is, because I expect--

like, I give the truth,

so I expect the truth back.

If you're gonna lie to me,

it's like, "Why?

What's the purpose of you

lying?"

>> Sometimes you lie to put

yourself in a position

to get what you want.

>> You lie about something,

you're gonna have to keep

telling another lie on top of

that one, on top of that one.

It makes no sense, because

at the end of the day,

you're gonna probably even

forget the first lie you told

or forget the last lie

you told, and eventually the

truth is gonna come out anyway.

So why not just save all the

headache and just get it

over with?

>> Well, we did some

investigating, and...

>> I think we probably have more

questions...

>> Yeah.

>> Than anything at this point.

>> Okay.

>> So why don't we go through

what we found?

You can tell us what makes sense

to you and help explain things.

>> Okay.

>> We ran this image.

The most promising lead that it

gave us was for an Instagram

for someone who goes by the name

Kash [bleep].

We found a Facebook page

for Kash.

And lo and behold, the two

pictures that you can see...

>> Are the ones that I have.

>> Are the ones that you have.

>> [sighs]

Um...I would have thought,

personally, like, of all the

people, Brenell would at least

tell me the truth about

everything.

>> We spoke to Kash.

She does know Bre, and she did

know that Bre has a Facebook

account, and she told us the

name of that, and she said,

it's Lucious B [bleep].

This is Bre.

Have you ever seen this

person before?

>> No.

>> And you'd remember a name

like Lucious B, right?

>> Yeah, yeah, like, I remember

the tattoo.

So that is something that

I would remember.

>> If we scroll through

pictures, boom, "lucious."

>> Wow.

>> So then we thought, could it

be that you're actually

friends with Lucious?

>> I don't know this page.

>> You sure?

>> I have, like, over 1,000

friends on my page.

>> We searched Brenell's

friends, and we didn't see

anything, but then we went into

your messages.

If you had messaged with her

at one point, like, maybe she

just said, "Hi," or, "Hey,

what's up," might still be

buried.

>> Right, messages remain,

even if your friend

de-friends you.

>> Anyway, so we were looking

through your messages,

and basically we found these.

A little over four years of

conversation.

>> 55 pages...

between you and Lucious B

[bleep], going all the way up

to a week ago.

There are times where you ask

to go on ooVoo or Skype.

>> Right.

>> And it looks like you guys

got on with each other.

>> Right.

>> No, I haven't been on

with her.

>> Come on.

>> Yeah--well, this person,

her name is, um...

[clicking tongue]

>> Come on.

>> I didn't hit you up

to do this.

That's what's going on.

>> All right, you want to tell

us what that means?

>> Yes.

She basically hit the show up

to basically try to see me.

>> Okay.

>> And I was like, "Why you

do that?

I want to see you too, but,

like, this is crazy."

Everything just went haywire

from there, and now we're here.

>> You lied to the show so that

you could come on and then

meet each other in person.

>> Yeah.

>> Here's the dilemma.

We've now sat with you for

probably a total of five hours

and listened to 100% lies,

you looking us dead in the eye

and lying to us.

We're in this position that you

so well articulated, that you

don't like being lied to,

because when someone lies to

you, you don't know what's

true and what's not.

And we don't exactly want to air

a show where we get tricked

by two people who may just want

their 15 minutes of fame.

So this is your final shot

to tell us the truth.

>> All right.

>> What's the nature of your

relationship with Bre?

>> We've been talking on and off

for about four years.

>> Are you in love with her?

>> I am in love with her.

She's there, I'm here.

I'm trying to figure out even if

I want to stay in New York

or not.

I want to see her to make sure

that if I do decide to move

to California, that I'm gonna be

with her and everything is what

she says it is and what we

want it to be.

>> There have to be easier ways

to arrange to see one another.

>> I know I won't be able to

afford a ticket to go to

California.

Like, I know that.

I'm, like, the sole breadwinner

in my household right now.

>> We've never been in this

position.

The authenticity of our show has

really been, you know, sort of

compromised.

We need some time to figure out

how we feel.

I think you need some time to

figure out how you feel,

considering this all just

came to light.

We're gonna talk to Bre.

We're gonna hear what she has

to say about this.

We'll check back in with you,

maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

>> All right.

>> Okay.

See you later.

>> Bye.

>> Bye.

>> I just always get so freaked

out when people just can sit

across from you and lie

like that.

>> * I have left my only son

* And he is so all alone

>> I don't know now how to

evaluate the situation.

Could it be a love story or

just 15 minutes of fame?

>> Well, I think it's gonna be

really interesting to see what

Bre has to say about all this.

We got to make sure

the stories match up.

>> Here we are in Brooklyn.

The question is, are we going to

take Whitney to L.A.?

>> Frankly, we don't know if we

have an episode here.

>> Right, but let's give them

a ring.

[line trilling]

>> Hey, Marshall, how you doing?

>> Good.

>> As you know, we're shooting

an episode right now in

Brooklyn.

We had a bit of a curveball.

We discovered that Bre and

Whitney are actually friends.

They've sent each other hundreds

and hundreds of messages over

the past four years.

>> And they've been Skyping,

and they conspired to get

on the show.

>> Yes, so now we're in

a position where we need to

decide what to do, because we're

making this show about these

people who don't necessarily

need our help.

But there's still a chance that

these two women could really

be in love with each other.

We're a little uncertain about

what the next move should be.

>> When we first met her,

we thought her story was

really sincere, and...

>> She--

>> She really won us over.

>> She's hard-working,

single-handedly supports her

four brothers and her mom.

She's, like, the underdog hero

that everyone wants to root for.

We don't really know now how we

feel about her, because I'm not

even sure what to believe about

anything she's told us.

>> Yeah, we've all been

catfished.

>> Right.

>> All right, speak soon.

Bye-bye.

>> It's up to us.

>> I think the thing that I've

been waiting and most anxious

about is speaking to Bre.

All right, let's call her.

[line trilling]

>> Hello, is this Brenell?

>> Hi, this is Nev and Max

from the show Catfish.

I'm not sure if you spoke to

Whitney last night.

Okay, so you basically know,

then, that we discovered that

you guys actually do know each

other and that this was a lie

that you guys put together,

and so we were just curious

to get your side of the story.

>> You have ooVoo'd or

video chatted, right?

>> We're in an interesting

situation now, because we're

a little upset that you guys

sort of tried to pull one over

on us, and kind of did.

Even though sections of your

story are obviously true,

we're starting to feel like

maybe you guys were just

interested in being

on a TV show.

>> It's such a crazy idea to me.

The way you guys were gonna meet

was that you were gonna get

yourselves on to this

reality show.

>> Here, this is Max.

I'm all for bringing you guys

together, but we want to know

now that you're serious.

>> You know, this is all kind of

happening fast for us,

trying to figure out what to do

on our side of things.

But we're gonna go talk to

Whitney again today and make

a decision based on that.

>> She said all the right

things.

That's what we wanted

from Whitney yesterday.

>> Right, I just want to know

if this could really be

a true love story.

>> I am gonna hold out

until we talk to Whitney.

>> Let's head over to Whitney's

and see what she has to say.

>> What she's got to say.

>> * Empty my mind

* Just to see what's left *

>> Well, it'll be interesting to

see if Whitney's got

a different story to tell today.

>> Well, she's had all night to

kind of process what happened

and talk to Bre.

>> * Get a fever in your soul

* Walk the night alone

>> All right, let's see

what she's got to say.

She better make it good.

>> * Got a fever in my soul

* Walk the night alone

>> How you doing?

>> Good day.

>> Hey.

>> What's going on?

>> I had some time to think

about it, and...

Well, I felt really, really bad,

like, lying to you guys.

It felt horrible.

So I want to apologize

to you guys again.

It felt like maybe this is,

like, the only time that I'll

probably be able to get this

chance to even see you.

So I went along with it.

I love her.

She's been there with me

every step of the way.

When I was having problems with,

like, my family, the one person

I could talk to was her.

The whole thing on my mind was,

like, "Yo, I'm really gonna

see her, like, I'm really

gonna see her," and, like,

it just came from a lie, though,

instead of the truth.

>> We spoke to her this morning.

She seemed really sweet.

She was also very apologetic

and painted a very beautiful

picture of your relationship

together, how much meeting you

is really what she wants

and how she really cares

about you.

So I think, for me, we're here,

we're in this situation.

This is not the kind of thing

that happens a lot.

I mean, everything about this

is sort of backwards.

But I believe that, at the core,

two young people who really

care about each other.

>> Yeah.

>> If you guys came this far

because you wanted to meet

each other, and got to

the second day of the show

without anyone realizing

what you were doing, then that

definitely shows a lot of

motivation and initiative

to--to meet each other.

Like, clearly there's a passion

there.

>> I think we believe that

you're sorry.

I know that I, for one,

forgive you.

We're in a position to bring

you guys together.

I'm ready to do that,

if you guys are.

>> I'm ready for it.

>> That's the first time

I've seen you smile.

>> Now you can, like, be hon--

like, be open about it, yeah.

>> This is awesome.

>> It really is.

You ever been so happy,

like, your ribs hurt?

[laughs]

I want to see Bre.

[laughs]

Thank you.

>> Ah.

>> You too, Max.

>> Get over here.

This is gonna be really fun.

We'll take you to

the west coast.

>> Okay.

>> The best coast.

[laughter]

[atmospheric pop music]

*

>> * Compass points you home

* Calling out from the east

>> Oh, I'm so excited.

Like, I feel butterflies and,

like, my heart is, like,

pounding.

>> * Where you are, I will be

* Anywhere, in-between

>> [sighs]

>> * Taking all the badges

* Build ourselves a mansion

* Love you in the way

* That you needed love

* Where you are, I will be

* Compass points you anywhere

* Closer to me

* Where you are, I will be

>> This episode of Catfish:

The TV Show continues now.

>> * The green mermaid

* And the wavy mane

>> Saddle up.

>> Okay, thank you.

>> * Riding a unicorn

* Through your Dali

* The free fantasy

>> Are you excited?

4 1/2 years now almost, right?

>> I'm over-excited.

Like, my cheeks hurt, like...

Oh, wow.

My heart is, like, pounding

uncontrollably.

>> She is here somewhere.

Whenever you're ready,

we should just--

>> I'm ready.

I'm as ready as I'll ever be,

so I'm ready.

Wow.

>> All right?

>> Yeah.

>> Want to take off your

seatbelt?

>> Oh, yeah.

I can't--

>> She's just strapping in.

>> All right, so let's do it.

I think that's her.

>> I think that's her,

sitting there.

>> Looking very glamorous.

>> Yeah, that is her.

>> Oh, my goodness.

She's looking fine, huh?

[laughter]

Here she comes.

>> Hey.

>> Take it away.

It's all you.

Wow.

>> Come here.

Hey.

[laughter]

>> Oh, my god.

Oh, my god.

Oh, my god.

>> Oh, my god, my glasses.

Hold on, come here.

[laughter]

>> Oh, my god!

Ah!

I can't believe it.

Oh, I'm shaking.

>> We didn't do--

>> Well, we got her here.

>> Oh, my god.

Oh, my god.

I got lipstick all on your

shirt.

Oh, my god, I got lipstick

everywhere.

>> It's all right.

>> Hi.

>> Hi.

>> Nice to meet you.

>> I'm, like, shaking right now.

>> Take a little tissue here.

[laughter]

Yeah, clean her up, will you?

>> This is cute.

>> You know, normally in these

situations, we're asking

questions because we don't know

what's true and false,

but I think--it sounds like

everything we know about you--

>> It's true.

Just the lie that, you know,

that I told to be here.

>> You guys did a pretty

good job.

You pulled one over on us,

for the most part.

>> I'm sorry.

>> I know.

>> But you didn't tell her to

delete your conversation

on Facebook.

>> No, I didn't delete

mine either.

Those conversations is--

I can never delete, like--

That's part of my life.

I tell this woman everything.

>> I mean, can you believe that

it worked out?

Did you really think it was

actually gonna happen?

>> No, but I'm glad it did.

I really want to thank you guys

and say sorry at the same time.

Like--ah!

>> So you two take some time,

enjoy the day.

We'll see you later.

Snack, whatever, do your thing.

>> I can't believe it.

My Teddy.

>> Yes.

>> Oh, my gosh.

Was it really worth the wait?

>> Yes, yes.

Ye-heh-es.

>> [laughs]

I'm excited.

>> Aw.

>> What?

>> I really love you.

Like, I love the [bleep]

out of you, for real.

I promise.

This is, like, the start

of everything right now.

>> Mm-hmm.

So come, go take a walk.

>> All right.

>> * I want to be a shadow

>> Even though we got catfished,

I think it was a catfish

for good and it was worth it.

>> It was a catfish for good.

>> 'Cause look how--these ladies

are really in love.

I'm just happy that two people

met each other, and even though

we got sort of roped into it,

love finds a way.

>> * I want to be a shadow

>> This is amazing.

It's, like, the best day

of my life.

>> Hey-o!

>> Hey!

>> Hey, what's going on?

>> How's it going?

You're still in Brooklyn.

>> Yeah.

>> How are things with you and

work and your family?

>> Work is actually great.

Like, my family, I talk to them

more about Bre.

I can't wait for her to meet

them.

She's actually planning on

coming out here soon,

and then the month after she

comes out here, I'm gonna

be out there.

>> And the relationship is...

>> It's good?

>> Yeah, it's great, actually.

>> What did we miss?

>> Yeah, did you guys get it on,

or what?

>> [laughs]

>> That's private.

>> No, it's not private,

not when--she owes us.

>> Did you see who came

down that hill?

Like, yeah.

>> Why don't we add Bre

to the call?

Add people.

>> Hey!

Whoa!

>> How is everything, Bre?

>> I'm great, never been better.

>> Looks like, and it sounds

like you guys are a couple.

>> You might as well say it,

but we don't put a title on it.

It just is what it is.

>> Are you guys in love?

>> Of course I love her, yeah.

>> So then there you go.

What lesson did we learn?

>> Just keep it honest, so true.

>> You guys had a beautiful,

pure intention, and you did

a little bit of, you know,

finagling to get what you

needed, but in the end, I think

it was worth it for all of us.

We're really happy for you guys.

Nice to see you both.

Good luck with everything.

>> Later, guys.

>> Bye.

>> It's a little unusual.

Two people are talking online,

and one of them says, "Hey,

let's meet on Catfish."

"I think it's the only way I

will find out what she isn't

telling me and if we can take it

to the next level."

>> But you trust her?

>> I do, I trust her.

>> The harder it is to find

that secret, the more sinister

that secret seems.
