Catfish: The TV Show (2012–…): Season 4, Episode 13 - Tiana & James - full transcript

A young woman moves across the country to be with her Internet love, but he is being elusive.

>> Well, that looks like

a shop, right?

There's someone in there.

>> Wow.

>> Let's do it.

>> Oh, my God, just don't be

scared.

>> Got some power tools.

[tool whirs]

>> Just...

>> What the [bleep]?

>> Can we talk about something?

We've officially filmed

50 episodes of Catfish.

>> Whoa.

That's half a century of

Catfish.

>> all: Whoa.

>> That's a big deal.

>> Oh, my God, he can walk.

Damage has been done.

>> Happy 50th birthday.

>> "It is what it is!"

[laughter]

[scattered cheers]

>> Ow, ow, ow!

>> Did you wish for 50 more?

>> I didn't.

I usually just sort of think

the whole thing is silly,

so I'm like, "All right,

health and happiness for

everybody."

>> So that's why all your

friends are doing better than

you.

>> [laughs]

Okay, here we go.

Let's check the email.

>> both: Oh!

>> "My first love."

"Dear Nev and Max,

My name is Tiana.

I'm 21 years old, and I live

in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I've been dating a guy named

James.

We met on MySpace about

three years ago."

>> Time-out.

>> I know.

>> MySpace was defunct three

years ago.

>> It's still a thing, Max.

"James is 24 years old and

lives in Statesville,

North Carolina, where he works

as a mechanic."

Wait, so she lives in Charlotte,

and he lives in Statesville.

>> Thanks, Captain Obvious.

They're both in North Carolina.

>> [chuckles]

"In the beginning, everything

seemed perfect.

When we first exchanged numbers,

I was living in Washington

state.

So I wasn't really worried about

seeing him since we were so far

apart.

The thing that draws me to James

the most is his personality."

>> * If it took

* A thousand miles

* I'd walk them *

* To find your smile

>> "He always knows the right

thing to say, and he really

wants to know everything about

me.

The more he and I talked and

texted, the more we started

falling in love."

>> * And you made me sing

* Made me dance

>> "He is my first and only

love."

*

"But it's getting harder and

harder to love someone I've only

spoken to on the phone.

I've tried to video-chat with

James to no avail, and our lack

of funds was keeping us from

meeting.

About eight months ago, I shared

with James I had family in

Charlotte and told him I was

thinking about moving back.

James was very happy and told me

he thought that we could find

an apartment and talk about

marriage."

>> Wow.

>> "So a few months ago,

I moved to Charlotte.

I've been here five months now,

and we've yet to meet.

I've made dates for us, and he

never shows up.

He's hiding something from me.

I just don't know what.

I don't want to give up on the

only love I've ever known.

Tiana."

Shoo.

How far is Charlotte from

Statesville?

>> Do a Maps.

>> 45 minutes away.

>> Oh, man.

The rule that we have--

>> If you live in the same town

as someone--

>> And they won't meet you--

>> Then it's just because they

don't want to [bleep] meet you.

>> Right, they don't--

James does not want to meet you.

>> All right, let's give Tiana

a call here and hear a little

bit more about this story.

line ringing]

>> Hey!

>> Oh!

>> Hey.

>> How you doing?

>> I'm fine, I'm nervous.

>> 'Cause of James, or are you

nervous because you're on

camera?

>> I'm talking to you guys.

>> Do you watch the show?

>> Yeah, I just watched it

last night.

>> Oh, what'd you think?

>> It was funny when you--

I forgot who said that they were

being replaced.

I think it was Nev--Max?

Which one of you guys are

Nev and Max?

>> [laughs]

>> Are you serious?

>> Are you Nev?

And that's Max, right?

>> I'm Max.

>> Yeah, so I got it right.

I'm sorry.

>> Tiana.

>> I'm Nev, so you were wrong.

>> Oh, my God, that's so

embarrassing.

>> [laughs]

>> It's okay.

Don't worry about it.

So how is everything?

What's going on?

>> Um, it's not too good.

>> Eh...

>> It's about James, who I've

been dating for about three

years.

And we met on MySpace.

He asked me what's up,

what I'm doing.

And I had just had a baby.

Her name is Journi, and she's

three years old.

>> And is she with you in

Charlotte?

>> Yes.

Her father is not in her life

at all.

So I'm basically raising her

alone.

>> So walk us through the way

it started with this guy James.

>> Just had a baby.

I was on MySpace.

We exchanged numbers, and we

started talking.

Probably, like, a month in,

he sent me his first picture,

and I liked it.

After that, he asked me to be

with him.

>> And you haven't been dating

anybody else, right?

>> Correct.

I done put three years in this--

like, three years.

>> Over the last few years,

you've also asked him to, like,

video-chat.

>> I asked him to Skype me,

and he was like, he got

a raggedy camera.

I was, "Okay, whatever."

Like, I'm really, really getting

fed up.

>> You went as far to move to

the same state he's in, and he

still can't meet up with you.

>> Yeah, he was excited.

We talked about a future,

maybe moving in together.

But when I got there, he just

keep making excuses on why he

can't see me, and I don't know

why.

>> What is it about this guy

that makes you stay with him

after everything that you've

been through now?

>> He's good to talk to, and he

can handle me.

Like, when I'm mad, he talks me

through it, 'cause I have

a very bad attitude.

He talk me through and get me

out of the little petty stage

that I'm in, which a lot of

people can't.

>> Has James expressed interest

in, like, being a dad to

Journi?

>> Oh, he don't know I have

a daughter.

He told me he didn't like kids.

>> So you've been keeping

a really big secret from him.

>> I'm scared to tell him

because he don't like kids.

>> How could you want to be with

a guy that doesn't like or want

kids?

>> By the time we caught

feelings, I was in too deep.

He already loves me, so of

course I would think he would

love my daughter once we meet

in person.

So that's why I need you guys'

help.

>> I mean, you've moved across

the entire country for this guy.

You've put three years into

this.

I don't know what his secret is,

but when you tell him your

secret, I mean, this should be

interesting.

>> Yeah, I'm definitely ready.

>> All right, we're coming

to Charlotte.

>> Okay, that's great, Nev, Max.

>> both: Bye, Tiana.

>> See you soon.

>> Bye.

>> She genuinely doesn't know

who's who.

She has no idea.

>> I mean, the bubbles that say

our name on the show clearly...

>> Don't work.

[laughs]

>> This is gonna be a train

wreck, and I'm kind of just

interested to see what happens.

>> Let's just hang on for

the ride.

>> Let's go to Charlotte.

>> Camera one, camera two.

Camera one, camera two.

>> That's definitely in the

shot.

>> * Slipping away

**

* We were just both slipping

* Slipping away

>> Very helpful co-host, Max.

You up now?

I have to say, North Carolina

is very lovely.

It's a shame that we're here

under such circumstances.

All right.

>> Let's go.

>> Hello!

>> Hey!

>> Hey!

Oh, yeah.

What's up?

How you doing?

What's with the side hug?

>> Yeah, what's up with

the side hug?

>> What's with the side hug?

Here, let's try it. Ready?

Hey!

>> [laughs]

>> Come on, let's get inside.

It's hot out here.

>> Where's the little--

little one?

>> Yeah, where's the tot?

>> Oh, she's with my best

friend, Aisha.

>> Does your family help you

take care of her?

>> Yeah, my mom.

My dad's not in my life right

now.

>> Are you close with your mom?

>> Well, I mean, we're close.

You know, when I was little,

I had to stay with my grandma

in North Carolina.

>> What was going on?

>> I actually don't know why,

but me and my sister got split

up.

So I got to go with my grandma.

She had to go to foster care.

>> Wow.

That sucks.

>> Yeah, it did, so--

>> Yeah, that's a crazy

childhood.

And then how'd you end up in

Washington?

>> My mom.

I moved back with her when I was

14.

>> So you grew up in

North Carolina?

>> Yeah.

>> Got it.

>> So you've got this three-year

love affair with this guy

James...

>> Mm.

>> Who's giving you the

runaround.

>> Yeah, when I came here, I was

like, "Can we meet up tonight?

I'm free."

He was like, "Well, I'm at

work."

So I waited till the next

weekend.

I made reservations at

The Melting Pot.

I was like, "Are you gonna

come?"

He was like, "Yeah, I'll be

there."

I got all dressed up, and he

didn't come.

So I make another plan to come

to him.

I had a friend bring me--Aisha.

>> You went together?

>> Yes.

>> And you drove, like, an hour.

>> Well, it took, like,

45 minutes to get to the

Shell gas station.

He said he'd meet us there,

take us to the house.

We kept calling and calling.

He didn't pick up.

>> But you love this guy?

>> Mm-hmm.

>> Why?

>> His personality mostly.

And as I said, he can handle me.

I have lost a good amount of

friends 'cause of my attitude.

He knows how to calm me down.

>> He's the Tiana Whisperer.

>> And he's real sweet and

romantic.

>> Yeah?

>> He's more emotional than

I am.

He shares more.

Like, a voice mail he left me

was really sweet.

>> Can we hear it?

>> Sure.

>> Yeah, let's hear this guy.

>> He's a little hard, but he's

sensitive underneath it.

>> Yeah.

>> What does he look like?

>> I mean, at first, I was all--

It was this cartoon character

as a picture.

>> His profile picture was

an animated, like, cartoon

drawing?

>> Yeah, I'm like, "Who is

this?"

So I'm like, "Well, can

I at least get a picture?"

So he sends a selfie-type

picture.

>> So can we see some pictures

of him?

>> Yeah, do you have any

pictures on your phone?

>> Yeah.

>> Okay, so here's James.

>> All right.

>> Wait. Is that him?

>> Yeah.

>> That looks like a picture

from a photo shoot.

You know what I mean?

>> That'd be good if he was

famous.

>> Well, maybe that guy is

famous.

It may not be the guy you're

talking to, though.

That's what I'm worried about.

>> Oh, God.

>> So, look, listening to you

talk about everything that's

gone on in your life, you've

had a lot of things happen.

Your path has changed.

You had to move, and, like,

things haven't been very stable

for any long period of time.

>> Mm-hmm.

I just hope he's who he say

he is.

Like, when we first said we love

you, that's taking, like,

a piece from my heart, so he has

that piece of a heart from me

that I can't just get back that

easy.

'Cause it's been three years--

that's so long if he not who he

is.

It would be great if he is.

And I just hope that he will be

okay with my daughter, accepting

my daughter.

>> Well, yeah, because you're in

a weird position.

Yeah, 'cause if it does turn out

to be James and there's a chance

this could work out, then you've

got a big problem...

>> Yeah.

>> Which is that you've been

lying to him.

>> Yeah, but maybe I can change

that.

>> We'll see what we can dig up

on James, and we'll report back

to you.

>> Hopefully it can be a love

story at the end.

>> Well, we'll find out.

Okay.

>> All right, Max.

No, yeah.

Max?

Aren't you Max?

>> I'm not telling you.

>> Bye.

>> both: Bye.

>> We've got our work cut out

for us.

What is this James guy up to?

Why can't he be available?

>> What is he getting out of

this?

>> Whatever this guy's hiding,

it's gonna be big.

>> Look at this, Max.

Conveniently located coffee shop

with free Wi-Fi.

Get some coffee and pastries.

>> Yeah.

Is that banana nut?

Does that have nuts in it?

>> It does.

>> Ah.

>> Did you just really ask if it

has nuts in it?

>> Yeah.

Do you have a banana non-nut?

>> I have a banana.

>> Mm, not the same.

>> [laughs]

>> All right, what we're dealing

with here is, like, a classic

catfish.

Tiana gets a MySpace message,

like, three years ago from some

rando dude, James, from

North Carolina, where she's

previously lived.

They start talking.

>> She doesn't mention that

she's got a kid.

>> That's right.

>> He's like, "I don't like

kids."

>> I almost suspect that maybe

he has a kid.

>> He might have a kid.

>> Right.

>> She moves from Washington

state to North Carolina to be

close to him.

She's now been in North Carolina

for five months.

Now every time they talk about

meeting up, he's got an excuse.

>> She's not willing to let go

and move on because this is

her first love.

>> Let's open the box.

>> Let's crack this wide open.

All right, here we go, Tiana--

>> "Hey, guys,

here's what I know about James.

He's a mechanic."

>> Oh, there's six photos.

>> Let's run the photos.

>> You ready to do a little

image search?

Here we go, first one.

What do we got?

Come on.

Oh, we got a hit.

>> Lots of hits.

>> It's a YouTube channel.

Tipsytwist.

>> Tipsytwist.

Fayetteville--

that's in North Carolina.

>> Here we go.

We got some person here who's

uploaded a bunch of videos

using that photograph Tiana's

been getting.

"Klassified, aka Tipsytwist,

freestyle."

>> Okay, so Tipsytwist is

a recording artist.

>> * I'm back *

* Tipsy's back *

* I'm back *

* I would never leave the game

* Need to be back

>> Okay, so Klassified is also

Tipsytwist.

>> But let's just go back and

look through more of these

videos and see if there's any

actual--

Here we go, look.

>> Yeah, yeah, yeah.

>> Bam.

>> I'm gonna [bleep]

video-message in a minute, man.

Just keep y'all updated on

some [bleep].

>> Well, time-out.

First of all, this guy's got

a YouTube account.

Second of all, he clearly has

a computer with a web cam.

>> Yeah, true.

>> We can show her the video of

him talking on YouTube, and

she'll know right away if that's

his voice or not.

>> Well, it looks like we

found this guy.

>> Well, we found the guy

from the pictures.

>> Right.

If James were a well-known

recording artist...

>> He would have said that.

>> He would have told her that.

>> Unless he didn't want her to

know because he's married or

something.

What if this is the one episode

where the rapper is pretending

to be the mechanic instead of

the mechanic pretending to be

a rapper?

>> Wow.

>> What's this guy's real name?

That's what we need to find out.

>> All right, let's see if he's

on Facebook.

There it is, yeah.

Gregory Johnson...

>> Whoa!

>> Aka Klassified Tipsytwist.

>> So we got his name.

>> The same guy in the pictures

that Tiana's been getting from

James, except there's a lot more

pictures.

All right, well, this is not

good news for Tiana.

All right, so that's

interesting.

Let's come back to that.

Let's look up James Sloan on

Facebook.

He says he doesn't have

a Facebook.

"James Sloan," maybe "NC" just

to narrow it down a little bit.

>> Oh, James Sloan, Charlotte.

There are a bunch of

James Sloans in North Carolina.

Look, a cartoon thumbnail

avatar.

>> With a Donald Duck,

like, Grumpy Donald Duck.

>> She said that on MySpace, he

had a cartoon thumbnail.

>> Yes, you're right.

>> We found a James Sloan with

a cartoon thumbnail.

Look, there's a car.

He's into cars.

He's a mechanic.

He's a self-employed mechanic.

>> Oh, my God.

>> Is that him?

Whoa.

Wait a minute.

>> Is that him?

>> Is that him?

>> That's his profile --

>> And older.

>> That's his profile picture.

>> Whoa.

That's something big to hide.

He's a mechanic.

He has a cartoon thumbnail.

Oh, man, and he's been talking

to this 21-year-old girl.

Finally, we found the

50-year-old, like, pervert guy.

That guy is, like, the picture

of who you fear you're talking

to when you're talking to

a stranger on the Internet and

you think they're someone.

>> Yeah, the really sad thing to

think about is that if that's

what he's hiding, then it makes

a lot of sense...

>> That's a pretty big deal.

>> That he wouldn't want to meet

up with her and that he would

make excuses to avoid.

I mean, like, there's, "I'm not

the guy in the pictures,"

and then there's like, "I'm not

the guy, the race, the age,

even close to or anything like

that guy in the pictures."

I mean, if this turns out to be

our guy, we're dealing with

a serious disaster.

>> You ready?

You ready to get a workout?

>> Hey.

[laughs]

>> Hi.

>> Hi.

>> I'm Max.

>> I'm Aisha.

I'm friends with Tiana.

>> Hey, Aisha.

>> You're Max, and you're Nev.

Okay.

>> Hey, Max.

>> Hi, Max!

>> She knows my name.

What up?

Thank you.

>> Hi, Max.

>> both: Oh!

>> [laughs]

>> You guys stay there,

and we'll be back.

>> That was fun.

Your daughters are really cute.

>> Thank you.

>> Are they good friends?

>> both: Yeah.

>> So how do you guys know each

other?

>> We met through Facebook.

We've been friends four years

and change.

>> Yeah.

>> Are you in a relationship?

>> Yeah, you can say that.

>> Is this the guy that is the

dad of the kids?

>> Yeah, I have four kids,

so he helps me out with all of

my kids.

>> And what do you think about

James?

>> Mm, it shouldn't take all

this for them to see each other.

There's been times where, you

know, we've been out and she

would call him and tell him, you

know, "Meet us here."

He would never show up.

>> You guys were on that trip

together, you drove together.

>> Yeah, that's the one with all

her gas money.

>> Yeah, it was my car.

Somebody owe me some gas money,

'cause he just kind of stood us

up.

It's like, he ain't answering

the phone.

He never showed up.

Me, personally, I don't think

I would have, you know, let it

go this far.

>> Three years.

>> Yeah.

I'm sorry.

>> You know, you always got that

one friend that's like, "Why are

you doing it?"

And you know how my attitude

is--I really don't care what

nobody say.

>> Yeah.

>> I'm still gonna talk to him.

>> I mean, that's what's up.

Do you, boo.

>> Have you told her that James

doesn't like kids?

>> He don't?

>> Yeah, I told you he didn't

know I had a daughter.

>> I know that he don't know

about Journi, but he don't even

like kids?

That's gonna be awkward.

[laughter]

>> Well, so, look...

you know probably as well as

anybody what Tiana's been going

through with this guy.

What I'd like to do is sort of

go over everything that we

found.

So first thing we did was

a search for these six pictures,

and it came back with a hit on

a YouTube video.

So we went to that video.

We found that little picture.

And the username is Tipsytwist.

>> Do you know Tipsytwist?

Does that say anything to you?

>> No, I never heard of that

name.

>> This guy's, like, a legit

hip-hop artist.

James never talked about making

music, right?

>> No.

Have you tried looking that name

up on Facebook?

>> So that was the next thing we

did.

>> Wow.

>> We found this page.

>> That's him.

That's the guy from the pictures

you got.

>> Wow.

>> This is a music page,

like, you know, for

a band/musician.

And when we click on his profile

pictures, there's a bunch of

photos.

>> Wow.

>> We did a search for

Tipsytwist.

And so there's a video of this

guy.

We thought if we play this video

for you, maybe you'll be able to

tell if it's the same voice that

you've been talking to on

the phone for the last three

years.

>> Okay.

>> Keep y'all updated on some

of the [bleep] that's going on

and [bleep].

You know what I'm saying?

'Cause the label's been down

for, like, about a month or two.

>> Does it sound like him?

>> Life takes you on...

>> It doesn't sound like him.

>> No?

>> His voice is way deeper than

that.

>> There was more research to

do, so we kept looking.

So then we thought, "Okay, let's

just look him up on Facebook."

I mean, I know you said he

didn't have a Facebook page.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> But there is a James Sloan

from North Carolina that showed

up.

We saw this guy had a cartoon

character for his picture.

>> Mm-hmm, the same with

MySpace.

>> That was the same one?

>> No, it's not the same one,

but--

>> What was the cartoon?

>> It was Daffy Duck.

>> It was a duck?

>> Like a--

>> It was a duck?

>> Yeah.

>> The coincidence that it's

a duck...

>> Yeah, it was a happy duck.

>> It's not shocking you

the way it's shocking me.

>> So is that a duck?

Looks like a bird.

>> Dude, that's a duck.

>> That's a duck.

>> We looked at this page,

and we went to the "About,"

and it says, "Works at

self-employed mechanic."

>> Wow.

>> Oh, wow.

That's crazy.

>> Is that the only picture

he have?

>> Well, here, wait, hold on.

As we scroll through his profile

pictures...

>> Is that him?

>> I don't know.

>> This is crazy.

>> This is ridiculous.

I'm really pissed off.

Like, you think I'm older?

You know I'm 21, so, like, no.

>> Look, basically we don't know

anything yet for sure.

But of all the things we've

found, this guy's profile sort

of fits the description.

>> Who have I been talking to?

Who am I in love with?

>> I think it's safe to say

the guy in the pictures is not

the guy you're talking to.

>> * My ghost

* Where'd you go? *

>> Don't start crying now.

You been talking to this man

for three years.

You should already know him.

>> * Like the sad eyes

* Bad guys

* Mouth full of white lies

* Kiss me in the corridor

* But quick to tell me

* Good-bye

>> I think this is crazy.

>> Well, I want to call this

guy and see if I can convince

him to meet up with us.

>> I want to find out, you know,

who it is.

>> * What happened to the soul

* That you...

>> I want to call this guy and

see if I can convince him to

meet up with us.

>> Okay, well, that sounds like

a plan.

>> All right.

[line ringing]

Yes, hi, is this James?

Hey, man, my name is Nev.

I don't know if you've ever

heard of a show on MTV called

Catfish, but I'm that guy from

the show.

Yeah, so I got your number from

Tiana, who I understand you've

been talking to for a little

while.

And she called us because she

wanted to finally meet up with

you after all these years and

was hopeful that we could help

make that happen.

Okay, well, I don't need a lot

of time right now.

I'm just calling because we

found out that the guy in

the pictures you're sending

is actually some guy named

Gregory, who's, like, a

recording artist.

So I just want you to know that

Tiana still wants to meet you.

We were trying to hopefully meet

up with you tomorrow.

So is there a chance that that

could happen?

You've told her that a few times

before in the past, and then you

haven't showed up, and I don't

want to--

I don't want to put her

through that again.

Well, if you do--Yeah, if you do

care for her, the right thing to

do is to meet up with her.

All right, see ya.

All right.

Here's what's up.

James says he's gonna meet you.

Now, I don't necessarily know if

that's true or not, but maybe

now that we're here, we can make

this happen.

>> Okay.

>> How many times has he said

he'll meet up with you before

and then not done it?

>> Then never show up.

>> Yeah.

>> I think, Aisha, you are as

close and involved as anybody

else.

You know more than any other

friends, your sister, anybody.

So it feels to me, you should

come along with us.

>> I want to.

>> Yeah.

>> I would love to come, 'cause

I want to see who he is.

>> I'll text him today.

I'll get him to commit to

something for tomorrow.

>> Sounds like a plan.

>> He's not getting away this

time.

All right.

Hello.

>> Oh, hey.

>> Hi, I'm Max.

>> Hi. Hi, Max.

I know who you are.

>> Okay.

>> Okay.

>> Camera.

>> That camera.

>> Did you guys bring Christina

up to speed with everything that

we found out yesterday?

>> Yeah.

>> She was so confused 'cause

I was just upset.

>> What were you feeling mostly?

>> Like my life, my time wasted.

Like, it's time to get real

answers, 'cause it's been long

enough.

>> So let's text this guy and

let him know we're ready to go.

>> Okay.

>> Okay, "It's Nev and Max.

We're here with Tiana and are

ready to meet you now.

Thanks."

>> To the point.

>> Yeah.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> Short and sweet.

>> Yeah.

[cell phone chimes]

>> Oh.

>> Ah, what'd you get?

What'd you get?

>> Oh.

It says, "I'm at the shop by

myself today.

You guys can stop by."

And then an address.

That's pretty close to here.

>> Really?

>> That's, like, ten minutes

from here.

>> Are you serious?

>> So this whole time he's been

ten minutes away?

>> That really upsets me.

That's wrong, like--

>> I don't want to wait too long

and have him change his mind.

>> Bye, ma.

I'll be right back, okay?

>> Okay.

>> * Take me to your water

* And lay me on your shore

>> I don't honestly have any

idea what we're going into

right now.

I mean, it could be

Tipsytwist...

or the much older guy.

At this point, it really could

be anybody.

*

This is it.

>> We're here?

>> Well, this is the street.

>> Ooh!

>> So, yeah, it's gonna be right

around here.

>> Ooh. Ooh, ooh, ooh.

>> Really?

>> Yeah.

>> Have you been here before?

>> It feels so familiar.

>> Why does this feel familiar?

>> Well, that looks like a shop,

right?

>> Oh, my God.

>> What?

>> This is Ricky G's shop!

Ricky G raps, and he's my baby

daddy's cousin.

He works here.

>> In this shop?

>> In this shop, yes.

I know it looks familiar 'cause

I remember bringing my kid's dad

here.

>> There's someone in there.

I can see someone.

>> The garage is, like, half

open.

>> Yeah, there's definitely

someone in there.

You don't know this guy,

Ricky G?

>> No, I don't know Ricky.

>> You know, in the mornings,

he does a song for the radio

in the morning.

>> So it would make sense that

Ricky G knows...

>> A rapper.

>> Yeah, Tipsytwist or whatever.

>> It would make sense, yeah,

'cause he raps.

>> Wow.

>> Wow.

All right, well, let's do it,

then.

>> It's crazy that you say

you've been here.

>> Oh, my God, just don't be

scared.

>> Hear him in there.

>> Got some power tools.

[tool whirs]

>> It's crazy that you say

you've been here.

>> Oh, my God, just don't be

scared.

>> Oh, my God.

>> What's up?

>> Hey, man.

>> What the [bleep]?

Are you serious?

>> What--

>> Trez, really?

You've been behind this

the whole [bleep] time?

>> Why y'all bring her?

>> Wait.

Who is Trez?

>> That's my baby daddy!

What you mean, "Who is they?"

How the [bleep] you do this to

me?

>> Oh, that's low.

>> Trez!

>> No, are y'all in on this?

>> What you mean?

In on what?

You really think I'm fittin' to

set you up like that?

What the [bleep]?

You already know I don't even do

[bleep] like this.

>> Clearly this not something

that you guys were in on

together, so let's not let this

get between you guys.

>> No, it's gonna be between us,

'cause who's Trez?

>> Well, you don't know this

guy, but apparently they had

a kid together.

>> So you have a child.

>> Yeah.

>> Wow.

>> Man, I'm through with this

[bleep].

I don't want nothing else to do

with this.

I'm ready to go.

I [bleep] ready to go.

The whole [bleep] time he been

doing this [bleep] to her.

>> I had no idea that that was

what was happening here.

Hold on a second.

>> Like, I really don't

believe that.

>> So obviously this is awkward,

turning into a much bigger

situation than we could have

anticipated.

>> So that's Aisha's--

I'm gonna go talk to Aisha.

>> Yeah, let's figure this out.

>> The whole [bleep] time.

The whole [bleep] time.

You sat there, and you lied to

her, and then when it come to me

getting into a relationship with

somebody, you come and you run

him away because you don't want

me to be with nobody else but

you!

>> Hey, hold on, hold on.

>> No, wait, you owe me

an explanation!

What the [bleep]?

>> Don't--Let's not make this--

>> You have called all my

ex-boyfriends.

>> This wasn't supposed to be

like this.

>> You had this lie going for

three [bleep] years?

>> It wasn't even supposed to be

like that.

>> What you mean it wasn't

supposed to be like that, Trez?

>> It's crazy, but I'm the one

who's going through this,

and y'all are arguing.

>> You done ran off all my

ex-boyfriends.

You don't want me to be with

nobody but you.

Man, I'm so over this.

I can't believe you did this to

me.

>> It wasn't like that.

>> It wasn't like what?

Take me home!

>> Hold on a second.

>> Take me home!

>> This is obviously some drama

between them that we didn't know

was going on.

>> That I shouldn't be put in.

>> Step in the car with me for

a second.

>> Oh, my goodness, I cannot

believe this [bleep] is

happening right now.

The whole [bleep] time!

>> Why have you been talking to

her with this other guy's

picture for the last three years

and avoiding her all this time?

>> I met her through her,

and I didn't want it to be

like this.

I didn't want it to be messy.

I didn't want it to be no messy

situation.

>> Well--

>> That's my kid's dad!

>> Which kid?

>> My son, my eight--

my seven-year-old son.

I can't keep no boyfriend,

'cause every time I get into

a relationship, here he come

running them away.

He don't want me to be with

nobody else but him.

But every time I turn around,

it's a new [bleep] bitch in

the picture!

>> So you met because of Aisha,

and you liked her?

>> Yeah.

>> But you couldn't really

pursue her because of your

previous relationship.

>> Yeah.

>> I don't even know who he is.

I never seen him.

>> Yeah, we met at a party about

three years ago, October.

And so we had--

It was a little Halloween party.

>> Do you remember being here

for Halloween a couple years

ago?

>> That was right before I moved

to Washington.

>> We wasn't even really

properly introduced, but

I thought--I kind of thought we

liked each other.

>> So you were into her?

>> It wasn't even supposed to be

like this.

I was gonna--I was just,

really just trying to holler,

and I'm sorry.

>> That's bull--that's really

bull[bleep].

>> I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

>> Wow. Who does--

>> It wasn't supposed to go

this long.

>> It wasn't supposed to go this

long, but it went this long.

>> I was gonna come right out

and tell you who I was off

the bat.

>> And then it hurt me 'cause

that's my friend TT.

You know how many times this

girl done told me she done fell

in love with the person she's

texting on the phone?

And come find out it's my baby

daddy?

Now she looking at me like I got

something to do with it.

Like, come on, now.

>> You know, we brought Aisha

because they're good friends.

>> Yeah.

>> And Aisha's sort of been

there for her this whole time.

>> [bleep] messy, man.

>> How is it messy?

>> I understand the whole reason

you wanted to sort of use this

fake name was to avoid this

mess, but--

>> Exactly.

It happened anyway.

>> I mean, eventually you know

she was gonna find out.

>> I don't want to talk to him.

>> I know.

I was gonna tell her.

I was gonna tell her.

It wasn't never supposed to go

this far, especially when they

started getting close.

You know, [bleep] just--

I had--

Seemed like I had to keep on

stretching the lie out.

>> He takes care of my

other kids that's not his,

but the fact that...

>> I don't want to talk to him.

>> It's not just no boy--

This is not just no boyfriend

that I've been with for a year

and a half.

I have been dealing with this

man for almost eight or nine--

like, eight or nine years.

>> Here I am, hiding my

daughter.

He's saying he got multiple

kids.

Like, what kind of bull[bleep]

is this?

>> TT, I feel like I owe you

an apology, but at the same

time, I knew nothing of this.

>> I'm in love with who?

>> My baby daddy.

You're in love with my son's

dad.

>> How strong are your feelings

for her?

I mean, are they really--

>> They're strong.

I wouldn't have even did this

if they weren't strong,

you know what I mean?

>> Do you still have feelings

for Aisha?

>> Yeah, I love her.

She my baby mama.

I'm not in love with her.

>> Do you think you're in love

with Tiana?

>> I got strong feelings for

her, yeah.

I don't want to hurt her.

>> So why didn't you just meet

up with Tiana?

>> I don't know.

Dumbass mistake.

I should have.

>> Hang tight and let me go

check in with them.

>> I feel like I just got hit

in my [bleep] face.

>> That's some bull[bleep].

>> Oh, wow.

>> Ooh.

>> Does he have feelings for

Tiana?

>> It's not just feelings.

We're supposed to be in love.

>> Yeah, he definitely has

feelings for you.

>> Y'all keep saying "feelings."

We're supposed to be in love.

>> * Promise to

* When it slow my ocean

>> He knows he screwed up bad.

>> [sniffles]

>> And, uh, you know, wishes

that it hadn't played out like

this, but...

>> This is not a good time to

talk.

Like, I don't want to talk right

now.

I don't even want to be bothered

right now.

I don't want to talk.

>> * Just drag me down

* And I'll go easy *

* Into your lovely hands

>> This episode of

Catfish: The TV Show continues

now.

>> I can see that you're still

pretty upset about all this.

>> [sniffles]

>> That's all right.

You shouldn't--

It's nothing you did.

>> [sniffles]

>> Did you and Aisha talk about

anything after we left?

>> Mm-mm.

>> I can't imagine what that

feels like, to have someone

that's so involved in your life

and your friend's life do this

for so long.

>> It's a slap in the face.

>> Do you want to sit down and

talk with Trez?

>> I mean, I'm interested in

seeing what he got to say.

Why did you do this?

>> Okay, so then I think we

should go and do that.

>> Okay.

>> * They say

* A lot of things

*

* If our love is like an ocean

* If our love is like the sea

>> Oh, this is it here.

>> * Then we're drowning *

>> There he is.

Hey, man.

We're all right.

How are you?

>> Hello.

>> All right.

>> Yesterday was a mess,

but Tiana wanted to at least

sit down and just get a chance

to hear what you have to say.

>> Well, yesterday I couldn't--

I couldn't really speak my mind.

Like you said, it was

too much going on.

It was awkward for me,

you know what I mean?

>> But the reason you didn't

tell her who you were in

the first place was because

of Aisha.

>> Mm-hmm, exactly.

I couldn't really tell her how

I felt 'cause I didn't want to

hurt my baby mama's feelings

or whatever, but I love you,

and--

>> That's bullcrap.

[scoffs]

>> I felt like we had a bond,

and it was a one-on-one bond,

you know?

>> You say you love her.

What do you love about her?

>> [sighs]

Her--her personality.

I mean, she plays mean,

but she's really sweet.

She's sarcastic as hell.

She pretty.

I mean, that's not all

the things, but, you know...

>> Did you know that she had

a kid?

>> No.

>> She told us that the one

thing that James told her about

kids was that James didn't want

kids, didn't care for kids.

>> She might have been a little

bit too hard on James.

It's not like I don't care

about kids.

>> That's a lie.

>> No, it was--

>> That's a lie.

>> Well, either way, I can

understand why you said that,

'cause you probably don't want

to have more kids.

>> Oh, yeah, I mean, that's

true.

>> Or do you? I mean--

>> No, no.

>> Aisha told us there was

around eight kids--from Aisha.

>> Well, eight biologically and

non-biologically, yeah.

We co-parent.

>> Right, but is it fair to say

that you have maintained

a connection with Aisha?

>> Maybe wanted to try to

maintain some kind of level of

friendship, you know, outside of

being a parent with her.

I feel like now we can really be

in a relationship...

if that's what you want.

I'll go--go through it with you.

Maybe it'll be a little easier

for you.

>> I think we should just let

them talk.

[door closes]

>> I'm sorry I lied to you.

>> You've been lying this whole

damn time.

>> I ain't lying about my

feelings, though.

I still feel the same way.

>> Of course, I'm myself.

You don't look like the person.

What are you gonna do about

these problems that we got?

Really?

>> You're still laughing.

I told you I was the same

person.

>> You still a clown, like...

>> 'Cause, I mean, you telling

me the problems, and you want me

to change them.

>> Like, you still funny.

That's the only thing that kept

me in this damn relationship,

is your humor.

The other people I've been with

couldn't handle my attitude.

You can.

So that's the only thing that

really is okay right now,

but it's gonna be hard to be

with you and you're my best

friend's baby father.

>> * If you ever need someone

* To cry to

* I will be there

>> The thing that is truthful

right now is when I'm mad,

he can take me out that

madness and make me laugh.

That's what makes this feel

real.

>> So you're gonna see what

happens?

>> I mean, I can't let this go.

It's real.

>> So you got some work to do

to earn this girl's trust,

which I think is fair.

>> That is fair.

I did lie.

>> And I lied too, but I'm

saying you still have that

touch.

>> [laughs]

>> That's a good start.

Take it one day at a time.

>> * I'll be there *

>> Bye.

*

>> * Standing beside you

*

* I'll be there *

*

[line ringing]

>> Hey, Tiana, how are you?

>> Hey.

>> You know, when we left you

guys, it sort of felt like you

and Trez sort of might have

a thing going.

>> Why did your thoughts change?

What happened?

That's really sad.

How's your friendship with

Aisha?

Are you guys still talking?

>> Well, I'm sorry to hear that.

>> Yeah.

>> You guys seemed like you were

good friends.

>> Wow.

All right, well, hopefully we'll

see you next time we're in town.

Bye, Tiana.

>> Hey, Nev.

>> Hey!

>> How are you?

>> Okay.

We heard that things with you

and Tiana didn't end up so good.

>> Um, no, it didn't.

In the back of her mind, she

wants to believe that I knew the

whole time that it was my kid's

dad, but I can't change how she

feels about anything.

>> And what's going on now with

you and Trez?

>> I basically call his phone

and give the phone to my son,

really.

I needed a reason to just be

okay with the fact that I don't

want nothing else to do with

him.

If anything, y'all just opened

another door for me.

>> All right, well, good.

I hope everything works out with

your new life.

Hopefully we'll see you soon

sometime.

>> Bye, you too.

>> Bye.

>> A cyberbully just assumed

her identity.

>> This girl was starting rumors

about you and bullying other

people as you, terrorizing your

life.

>> Yes, just destroying

my reputation.

>> Who?

>> Who was it?

>> Moment of truth.

>> If she tries to fight me,

are you guys gonna hold her

back?

Are you kidding me?
