‐ My name is Marcelito Pomoy.

‐ And where are you both from?

‐ We are both from the
Philippines.

Now, you're not the act,

‐ I'm not.

So the reason why I'm here is
to support him all throughout.

‐ My husband, you know,
he had a very hard life

in the Philippines.

But then he won
the "Pilipinas Got Talent."

‐ Did he win?

‐ Yes.
‐ What year?

‐ 2011.

‐ Ahh.

‐ When I was seven years old,

my mother, she left me,
and my father was in jail.

I was orphan
and live in the street.

For many years,
I tried to find my family.

When I was a scared,
I would sing.

[ethereal music]

One day, I saw the show
"Pilipinas Got Talent."

I thought, "That's the way
I can find my family."

I was hoping they
would see me sing.

[singing in native language]

‐ It's a big yes.

‐ Ahh.

After my audition aired,

the whole country
was trying to find my family.

During the finals,
my family is there.

‐ The grand winner,
Marcelito.

[cheers and applause]

‐ It was the greatest moment
of my life,

because my family was there.

[dramatic music]

My life changed overnight.

I went from living
in the street

to now I'm famous.

‐ Marcelito Pomoy.

‐ Marcelito Pomoy became
a trending topic on Twitter.

‐ The whole country
was talking about me.

But the best part,
I met my wife, Joan,

and now we have a daughter.

I'm going to cry again.

"America's Got Talent"

so I feel

I am a winner.

‐ My name is Oz Pearlman.

I'm 37 years old.

I live in New York City.

And I'm a mentalist.

As a kid,
I knew how to observe people

and gauging their reactions
know what they would do.

But when I told my family

my dream was just being
a mind reader and mentalist,

they thought I was crazy,
so I got a job

at a major Wall Street bank.

I would stare at my computer
day in, day out

and think, "Is this the life
I was meant to live?"

I decided no.

I decided,
"I'm gonna go for it."

♪ ♪

And so I left
that cushy job

to go for my passion,
my dream.

Howie, the movie star you were
focused in on was...

‐ Tom Cruise.

‐ So when I got
the standing ovation

and Heidi said to me,
"I want more, more, more..."

‐ I want more.
I want more of Oz.

‐ That's when I knew
I made the right choice.

At a certain point,
you start to think,

"I'm gonna win
'America's Got Talent.'"

‐ The act finishing
in third place is...

Oz Pearlman.

‐ I was devastated.

But despite not winning
"America's Got Talent,"

it launched my career into
an entirely different level.

I've performed on stadiums
for tens of thousands

of people at once,
for presidents,

for‐‐you name the movie star,

I've probably been
at one of their parties.

It's just unbelievable.

‐ All right, standby.
Here we go, five seconds.

‐ But there's that one
pesky box...

‐ That I haven't checked.

And that's winning.

‐ You were on "AGT" 2015,
and how did you do?

turned my life

completely upside down
in the best possible way.

I do performances
with archery and crossbows,

and in 2016 I was on
"Britain's Got Talent."

It was one of the most amazing
experiences in my life.

‐ You've got four yeses.

‐ But in the semifinals,

I brought Alesha onstage
to help me with it.

Don't worry. You're safe.

But unfortunately,

some cords must have
gotten crossed over,

and ended up causing more than
one arrow to fire.

I was devastated
it didn't go right

and I didn't go through.

‐ Ben Blaque.

‐ I still went on
to perform European tours,

U. S. tours, but I haven't done
that performance

of the crossbow roulette
since then.

♪ ♪

But then the "Champions"
opportunity came up,

and I'm like, "Man,
I've got to do that."

That's why tonight
I'm performing the exact act

that did not go right
on "Britain's Got Talent"

This is the biggest night
of my life.

It's my last shot
at redemption.

just like last time,

you're gonna pull it off,

so we don't lose it.

So after I got hit
by this truck

and I was getting my bearings
trying to make sure I was okay,

the driver of the truck,
he got out to check on me.

on his face where he went,

and I was a semifinalist

My dream is to become a star

It was just all so magical.

All this confetti
started coming out.

I actually did think
to myself,

"You know, maybe I can win."

‐ I guarantee you will be
on Broadway

and your dream will come true.

‐ I was in the semifinals
one step away

from the finale,
and...

‐ Being sent home
was the worst.

But I knew that this
was just the beginning

of my singing career.

Since being on
"America's Got Talent,"

my life has changed so much.

I was in
my first Broadway show.

I got to sing with one of my
biggest idols.

in my very first audition.

I even went to by a hoodie

And I was a semifinalist
on season seven

of "America's Got Talent."

When I competed on the show,

I was the youngest
escape artist in the world.

‐ I pushed myself
to the utmost limit

that I possibly could.

‐ This looked very dangerous.

We were on the edge
of our seats.

‐ But my journey
came to an end.

‐ Going home is...

‐ I was disappointed.

I questioned myself,
"Should I be pursuing this?

Should I still keep
performing?"

But after
"America's Got Talent,"

I was approached by Criss Angel

to feature on his show
called "The Supernaturalist."

But during one of the shows,

I blacked out under water.

‐ To, you know, be, obviously,
that close to death,

you know, it was definitely
a bit of a wake‐up call.

After that,
I played it safe

and had a‐‐

a major issue
getting back onstage again.

But when I saw "Champions,"

I decided this is a great time
to prove to myself

that this is what
I'm meant to do.

This is easily
the most dangerous escape

that I've ever attempted.

And everything
that can go wrong

has gone wrong.

I was just working
with my escape

for only the second time.

The lid came down
and impaled itself

in the back of my head.

My doctor advised me
not to do this.

But the "Champions"
is the biggest opportunity

here in my life,
and I'm not gonna stop now.

[razor buzzing]

So I'm gonna shave my head,
seal the wound,

and I'm just hoping
it's worth the risk.
