in a super intense battle.

One act will go
straight into the finals

thanks to the Golden Buzzer.

The other nine acts
will fight it out

for just three spots
in the semifinal.

And deciding who is worthy
of those places,

we've got our panel
of superfans.

They are America.

They're men and women
from every state,

every corner of the country.

And they are here to vote
for the acts they believe

deserve a spot
in the seimifinals.

my dogs became superstars

I get to travel
the whole world with my dogs.

I even took them

My life is always exciting
because of my dogs.

These are my best friends
in the entire world.

‐ And how long
have you been training dogs?

‐ Uh, my whole life.

I have 13 dogs at home,

but these are my siblings,
too.

of working with your animals,
and they love you.

eight wagging tails,

that was the cutest thing.

I've never seen
a person your age

have such control
and such professionalism

and be able to do what you did
with eight dogs.

You are truly amazing.
You're truly a champion,

this is one of

the most difficult things
I can imagine.

I mean, I have four dogs.
I can't get them to sit

for the life of me.
[laughter]

And it just brought joy
to my heart.

I loved every single minute
of that.

‐ Well, first of all,
this was done on ice.

And they didn't even slip.

I like the fact that the dogs

are all kind of
different breeds.

To me, it was like being
in a real life movie.

know who you are,
but tell everyone your name,

where you're from,
and how old you are.

‐ My name is Tyler
Butler‐Figueroa,

and I'm 12 years old,
and I'm from North Carolina.

Raleigh, North Carolina.

‐ And Tyler, you had a pretty
amazing year last year,

didn't you?
‐ Yes.

I got the Golden Buzzer
from Simon,

and I feel like
that was amazing

because Simon is really
a hard judge to impress.

‐ Good for you.

And how are you feeling?
Is everything okay?

‐ Yes, I've been in remission
from cancer for four years.

‐ Oh.
[cheers and applause]

[melancholy music]

‐ "America's Got Talent"‐‐

it changed my life a lot.

It's just been amazing,

but it has been a really
long journey to get here.

‐ One thing that my son is
is a fighter.

Ever since he was 4 1/2,

he's been fighting
for his life.

That's when he was diagnosed

with acute lymphoblastic
leukemia.

When we first got
the diagnosis, it was‐‐

it was‐‐it was‐‐

well I guess you can say
horrible, terrible.

It was like a nightmare.

‐ The violin
was almost like my hero.

It was a way to take me
through hard things.

With the violin, I felt like
I could do anything.

[cheers and applause]

When I auditioned, I really
wanted to impress Simon.

[cheers and applause]

So to get his Golden Buzzer

was, like,
the best moment ever.

It's a dream come true.

‐ Once he got
that Golden Buzzer,

he was a totally
different person.

Now Tyler has that confidence

that I thought
he would never get back again.

‐ You were absolutely
incredible!

‐ I was real excited
that I made it to the finale.

‐ The act taking the last spot
in the top five is

Detroit Youth Choir!

‐ It was just
a hard moment for me.

But after
"America's Got Talent,"

I still get fan mail
from different people

saying I inspired them
to keep fighting.

‐ I'm just so proud of him.

Even though Tyler didn't win
"America's Got Talent,"

he's always been
a champion to me.

‐ This is the performance
of my life.

‐ Ten seconds.
‐ I want to show Simon

that he was right for giving me
the Golden Buzzer,

and I want to show him
that I am a champion.

‐ I'm doing okay.
I'm a little bit nervous,

but I'm doing good.

‐ You are a magician.
‐ That's right.

My name is Ben Hart.
I'm 29.

I'm from London,
and I'm a magician.

[whooshing]

I discovered magic
when I was very young.

I grew up on a diet
of dark and evil fairy tales,

and I've always liked the idea
of the battle

between good and evil.

Ever since then, I just
have lived in a fantasy world.

Magic reminds us that there is
mystery in the world.

‐ That's just done my head in.

You are, like,
the living embodiment of magic.

You're an act genuinely made
for the papers.

‐ To see an audience
on their feet

cheering a piece of magic

that's really resonated
with them

is a very nice feeling.

‐ Only one of you can leave
here as tonight's winner.

‐ Waiting to hear the results
felt like an eternity.

‐ The third place act in
"Britain's Got Talent 2019"‐‐

‐ And I knew that my life

might be completely
transformed.

‐ Ben Hart.

‐ And so I was disappointed
to not win.

But what I didn't realize

is my life has changed
anyway.

‐ This young man wowed us with
his spellbinding magic skills.

‐ Now I'm going on my first
headlining tour

around the U. K.

People stop me in the street.
It's crazy.

But I think what
makes somebody a champion

is the desire
to push themselves further...

To take extra risks.

And that's what I intend
to do here.

And so I hope
I'm ready to impress

on this huge,
massive global scale.

I've been working really hard

trying to perfect
my performance.

Because not many people
get a second chance

to prove
that they're a champion.

So I'm really glad
to perform again.

And maybe I'll
go all the way this time.

[cheers and applause]

When I was traveling in India,

I witnessed a ritual
that happens

by the river at night.

The locals crowd
on the riverbanks,

and they fill bowls
with offerings

of candles, flowers,
rice.

And they float these bowls
into the water

whilst they make a wish.

One bowl reflected in the water
in the river

becomes two bowls.

Don't worry,
that is not the trick.

[laughter]

But why double an empty bowl?

And these bowls
really are empty.

Totally empty.

And so I will fill
one of the bowls

with a single
grain of rice.

One grain of rice
reflected in the water

and in the river becomes...

two grains of rice.

That's one.

‐ Ooh. That's two.

The smallest piece of magic
ever presented on this stage.

But why double
just one single grain of rice

when you could double
an entire bowl full of rice?

I will fill this bowl
with enough rice

to fill it to the brim.

No more and no less,
just one bowl of rice.

One bowl reflected
in the water,

and even though
this is now a sealed chamber

and my sleeves
are completely up‐‐

I can't get in or out‐‐

there is now twice as much rice
in the bowl

as when we started.

♪ ♪

[applause]

[playful music]

I will level
all this rice off.

There is still rice
in the bowl, that's important.

Then, on the riverbank,

I see a man reflected
back at me

holding two brass bowls,

and in that moment
I'm not sure if I'm real

or if I'm refection

because the man
in the reflection

parted his bowls to reveal

he is holding
the bowls of rice,

which means I am holding
bowls of water.

‐ What?

‐ Wow.

[applause]

‐ Thank you.
‐ Oh, wow.

‐ Is that it?

‐ Thanks, everyone.

‐ Don't tell me that was it.

‐ Yeah.
‐ That was it.

‐ I've seen Ben perform before,

and normally, your presentation
is perfection.

But what let you down tonight
was the awkwardness

of possibly
what could be nerves.

one of those weird

You know,
this is the rice maker, and‐‐

I swear‐‐I mean,
I'm struggling here

as to know what to say.

Because I'm looking, going,

Ben, look, for someone
of your talent

and your charisma, to come
on this stage with that‐‐

I'm sorry. It was
nowhere near good enough.

‐ Ohh. I feel terrible.

‐ I don't wanna put more salt
into the wounds.

of competing against the world
at this level.

Originally, I am from Ukraine,

and I am a creator
of Freckled Sky.

‐ And you were here on
"America's Got Talent."

‐ We were on "America's
Got Talent" season ten.

‐ How far did you get
that year on the show?

‐ We actually got only
to quarterfinals.

‐ Did something go wrong, or‐‐

‐ Yes, I think we didn't
achieve the same level

on our second performance
that we did

on our first performance.

‐ When I started Freckled Sky,

I wanted to create
a new form of entertainment

with technology and dance.

‐ When we got
the Golden Buzzer,

I was in a dream.

At that moment, I believed
in this more than ever.

And I knew we had
a chance to win.

But in live shows,

we were trying to do
a lot of new things‐‐

more complicated.

Unfortunately,
we made mistakes.

‐ You have to step it up.

I think you can
but you didn't.

‐ The act leaving
the competition is

Freckled Sky.

‐ It was a very tough moment.

I'm sorry. Mm.

Before
"America's Got Talent,"

I sold everything I had
in Ukraine,

and I moved
to the United States for this.

I thought,
it just lost my dream.

But even though we didn't win
"America's Got Talent,"

we had a lot of opportunities
all over the world.

[upbeat music]

We worked with, like,
Paula Abdul,

with James Arthur

we were also added
to create a show with P! nk.

♪ ♪

Because of
"America's Got Talent,"

we have found success,

but we didn't win.

This is second chance
for Freckled Sky,

and I really believe
that this is it.

[cheering]

‐ And you think you're gonna
do something tonight

which is even better
than what you did in 2015.

I started very young

to love music.

My Grammy, she was
a harmonica player.

When she would play,

And that's when I fell in love
with the harmonica.

Of course, my parents,
they were advising me

to get the normal job,

to follow my heart

and become a musician.

But working
as a street performer

.was not easy

So I decided to audition
for "Italy's Got Talent."

I was there
to demonstrate to my family

that, you know, I was on
the right path, you know.

I just started crying

I'm Italian,
so sometimes I cry.

I was so proud,

and my parents
were proud of me as well.

so much struggle.

Life in Mumbai
is very difficult.

Most of the members
of our team

comes from the slums.

So coming here,

to make a better life for us

was supporting us.

an introduction again anyway.

‐ I am Michael Grimm.

I am from a little town

called Waveland, Mississippi,

and I won back in 2010.

‐ So when he was on the show,
I remember,

'cause it was very exciting
for me.

This is the first winner
of "AGT" that I ever met.

During the show you said
that you wanted the money.

You wanted to buy‐‐
is it your grandmother?

‐ Yeah, my grandmother
and my grandfather

lost their house
in Hurricane Katrina.

[somber music]

Well, growing up as a kid,
my grandparents raised me.

We were poor,
but there was a lot of love.

Yeah, we were rich in that.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina
wiped the whole town away.

Everyone lost their houses,

including my grandparents.

At the time, I'd been playing
in little dive bars.

I wanted to help them,

so I decided to try out
for "America's Got Talent."

What little money I make,
I give to them.

I was looking for a break.

[singing]

Hopefully I can get on
for one episode.

‐ Michael Grimm,
you're going to Hollywood.

‐ [laughs]
‐ [crying] Oh, God.

But it just kept growing.

I had never saw myself
winning the show.

‐ We're about
to reveal your winner.

‐ In the finals, I'm standing
next to Jackie Evancho.

In my mind,
I already felt she won.

You know, I knew
they were gonna

announce her name.

‐ Michael Grimm!

‐ You can see the shock.

It took the breath out of me.

I still can't believe it.

"AGT" taught me that
anything is possible.

‐ With the million dollar
prize,

Michael Grimm came through
in a promise he made

to build his grandparents
a brand‐new home.

‐ And there's Grandma's keys.

‐ And then I asked
my girlfriend to marry me.

Will you marry me?

‐ I recorded an album

that charted pretty well
on Billboard.

It all happened all at once.

It was big, it was quick.

like a freight train.

took a step back,

and left fame passing me by.

Now, years later,

I'm wishing I would've done
a better job

facing my success.

It's a lot of responsibility

from all around the world.
