so I dipped into office work,

I was always scared

that I would get stage fright,
but Casper was the cure.

Well, as a puppy,
he had no voice.

He would squeak and squawk.

The weirdest little noises
would come out of him.

And then one day,
like a year later,

I was playing guitar
and singing,

and, all of a sudden,
this noise

came out of him, and I was--

- So he started to sing.

How long you guys
been doing this together?

So we've only sang
at a talent show at work.

- Wow, okay.

I've always said
if you could find a dog

that could sing,
you'd make a fortune.

from a town with more cows

than human beings.

and grateful to be here

representing
a part of my community.

It's so important to me

to represent my people,

of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe.

100% Native American,

and I absolutely love
where I come from.

It's a tribe
in Hollister, North Carolina.

They're the reason
I'm even singing today.

Music definitely
was inspired by my culture.

Every third weekend in April,
the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe

has its powwow,
which is a festival

celebrating our tribe
with dancing and singing.

Growing up,
it was super special,

and it still is very special.

So often, we are erased

from the conversation.

To make sure that they
never forget us again.

I know how important
this 90-second opportunity is

to make my tribe proud,

and I don't take it
for granted at all,

so I want to kill it.

in book publishing.

Growing up in New York City,
I started singing early on,

and glee clubs,

And then I started training
more classically

as I got more serious.

Any opportunity to perform--
I was right there.

But I stopped, because,
you know, I like to eat,

and the life of performing
is rough.

So I wound up making money
in accounting.

People need a bookkeeper,
always.

But over the years,
I've never lost

my passion for performing.

And to wind up here
is--it's a dream come true.

I would love to be
doing this full-time.

a Vegas-type show is ideal.
