for so many years,
and it's so surreal to be here.

Hi, guys.

Welcome back.

Let's just
introduce yourselves,

first of all.
You are...

Human fountains.

We've known each other
since kindergarten.

Uh, we love performing
with our best friends,

and that's why we're here.

[classical music]

Before
"America's Got Talent,"

we'd only performed

together once.

During our senior year
of high school,

there's a talent show,

so we were like,

"People travel

around the world

"and go see famous fountains.

So why not create one

out of humans?"

[cheering]

We won the talent show,
and it was wonderful.

♪ ♪

But after high school,

we all got real jobs.

Sam works in advertising,

Vaughn works in real estate,

and I have a podcast

with my mom.

Um...

[all laughing]

We kind of thought that
that was the end

of human fountains.

And then after eight years,

we decided, "Why not give it
one last chance?"

♪ ♪

Was absolutely brilliant,

and it made me have

a proper belly laugh.

The judges
really liked the act,

except for Simon.

[buzzer]

I just saw four guys

spitting on each other.

[crowd jeering]

It was awful!

This time, we have been
working extra hard

to try to win over Simon.

We're much more

than just guys spitting water.

There's just so much art
behind it.

You have your power stream...

your narrow stream...

Joel can do a four-sprouter.

The list goes on.

We would love nothing more
than to make it

to the live shows, and perform
at the Dolby Theater.

My name is Shin Lim.

I am
from Boston, Massachusetts,

and I am

a close-up magician.

I got into magic

at the age of 16.

I used to secretly practice
in the bathroom

so my mom wouldn't find out

that I was wasting my time.

I was actually supposed to be
a concert pianist.

I went to university,
got a full ride.

But then midway
through university,

I got carpal tunnel

on both of my hands.

Eventually the doctor said,
"You're practicing

"way too much piano,
and at the same time

"you're practicing magic.

You have to choose one."

Eventually, I ended up
picking magic.

After university,
I didn't land a single gig.

It was so tough for me;
I was extremely depressed.

I thought maybe I had made
the wrong choice.

But I refused to believe

that that was the end
of my dream.

Shut up!

The first audition,
I got reactions

that I never expected
I would get.

That is the best

sleight of hand, close-up magic
I have ever seen in my life.

Hearing "yes"
from all of the judges

was just the most

amazing feeling ever.

One of my biggest supporters

of my magic is my fiancée.

[laughing]
I proposed to her

about a year ago.

She was a dancer
for a mega-illusionist,

and midway through
her performance

I stepped up on stage

and right then and there
I proposed to her

in front of 2,000 people.

[cheering and applause]

And she said yes.
[laughs]

Thank God she said yes.

We want to start
a life together,

so I really need this.

This is about our future.

we met a lot of members

to do what we loved

It's a huge city.

I wanted to create
a small community of singers

that felt like
they have a home.

I am a pastor.
I'm an accountant.

I do temp
administrative work.

But we are part
of this collective community

that has been created.

There's been so much joy

my son passed away,

My name is Rob Lake.
I am from Norman, Oklahoma,

and I am an illusionist.

The standards of what you did,
you know, I think the bar

is really high for us all
to try to match.

Shin is definitely
my biggest competition today

because we're both magicians,

and he is a master with cards.

His hands are phenomenal.

He's a close-up card magician
and I am a stage illusionist,

so it's a totally different
style of magic.

When I was ten,
my parents took me

to a magic show
in Branson, Missouri,

and I just had the bug.

It bit me right then.
I knew,

"This is what
I'm going to do

for the rest of my life."

But my parents

had other ideas.

We run a furniture business.

My grandfather opened it up,
and I assumed Rob

would go to school,
and then come in

to the home furnishings
business with me.

When I dropped out of school
to pursue magic full-time,

you know, they were shocked.

We were stunned.

I'm still stunned
to this day, you know.

I thought this would just
be a phase

that would last a little while.

They thought I'd struggle,
I'd starve to death,

but my dream was dying
inside of me.

I had to go for it.

Welcome

But when I walked out there,
it hit me hard.

It was like, "Wow,
this is a lot tougher

than I thought it would be."

I don't think we were wowed.
I'm gonna be honest.

I mean, this just took

a long time.

If this was live, I think

and the magic, which was real,

When I was a kid,
I was super fat--

I know, it's a shock--

and kids are really mean

to kids, unfortunately.

So, what I quickly learned

to do was make jokes

before they made a joke to me.

It would stop them down.

But it was a good thing,
because I learned early on

what made people laugh.

Heidi, you're looking at me
like you never saw

a trophy wife
in Los Angeles before.

I'm sorry.

You are the funniest person

that we've had on the show.

Hearing
such incredible comments

from the judges
was a huge surprise.

I mean, before the show,
my daughters and I

were practicing my reaction

when I get the buzzer.

My two beautiful daughters--

they are the light of my life.

They're fabulous.

People always think
they're adopted

because they're so awesome.

Really.

Trying to bring up
two daughters

living on a comic's budget--

you know,
money was super tight

and it was pretty tough.

I didn't know if I'd made
the right decision.

"I should just have

a regular job

"and we should have more money.

I shouldn't be doing this
to my kids."

We may have grew up

in a trailer park,

and it wasn't lavish,

but we lived a dream life...

It was filled with love

and joy and comedy.

It's been a long struggle
to get here.

an amazing break for me,

and the kids
are over-the-moon happy for me.

And I'm so glad they get

When I grew up, my mom
