Holy!

This is
Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks .

At the start of day nine
on the water,

last season's champion,

Fishin' Frenzy, has a slim lead

over local rival
Reels of Fortune.

Wish they all could be
Carolina girls.

Billon, Team Frenzy, baby.

Team Frenzy, whoo!

You stole 'em, we blow 'em.

You stab 'em,
we slab 'em.

Feels good to be
in first place, you know?

Got a 19-fish lead
on the Reels of Fortune.

Big, fast,
and kicking ass.

That's the Frenzy.

The Frenzy
is the queen of the fleet.

She looks good, she's fast,
she rides good.

She's everything you want.

The most amazing thing
about the Reels of Fortune

is that Griff keeps it
from sinking

when they're fighting a fish.
It's great.

No one's gonna be able
to catch the Frenzy.

Here we go.
We're going Frenzy style today.

Griff and I have always
competed for the top spot

in the Outer Banks.

He's caught a lot of tuna
down here,

probably more than most...

except maybe me.

All right, let's go get 'em.

It's day nine
of the season,

and we're the top boat,

but Reels of Fortune
is right on our heels.

We're going out today

to make sure
we put some meat on the deck.

Let's go fishin', boy.

You've been here fishing
for 50 years, I'll follow you.

All right.

What's up, buddy?
Ready to go fishin'?

It'd be nice to knock
Frenzy off his perch,

but I've got this
$10,000 yard bill,

so we really need a couple
of big, good fish right now,

so we can, uh, pay our bills
and start making some money.

Renegade! You ready?
Where's some fish?

Where they at?
Show me some fish, buddy.

Frenzy, he's a big,
quick, fast boat, you know,

but it ain't the size
of the boat that matters.

It's about
what you're catching.

Yes, sir!

We need to get
in the meat right now.

Pods of porpoises.

That's a good way
to start the morning.

All right, Jess.

Time has, like,
gone by so quick.

We still don't have a keeper
on the boat,

and it's just, it's hard.

I've got so much pressure on me
at this point,

I'm not sleeping at night,
I'm laying awake,

trying to figure out
what can be done.

My husband and I
got two beautiful daughters,

and, uh, my family
depends on these paychecks,

and, uh, you know, to be this
far into the season

and we don't have a fish
on the deck, it sucks.

So I've got to get a paycheck.

I'm gonna start.
That all right?

Okay. All right.

- Got it?
- Yep.

Phew, thank goodness.

Day nine.
We have not produced,

and, uh, the struggle
is getting very real.

It's in your face
at this point.

At the end of the day,

we are going fishing to try
to bring home a paycheck.

We have to turn things
around quick.

We got the stick out
and we're hoping
to catch a bluefin.

What was that? A shark?

That was a fin right there
just now.

Oh, there's a mark.

Jig that stick, girl!
Jig that stick.

We getting jiggy with it.

Come on.

Come on, 300-pounder.

- There he is.
- Right, let's go.

Tighten it up, tighten it up.

Oh! There he goes!

All right, hold still,
hold still.

No, you're fine,
you're fine, you're fine.

Okay, just slow her down.

I'm right here.
-Oh, she's taking it.
It's taking.

- Let him take it.
- I am.

Whoo!

I see it, we got one on!

Stay on there, big boy.
We have got the money!

That's for sure.

Whoo!

I got it,
right behind you.

All right, here we go,
here comes one.

He's pulling.

Come on, baby.

Give me a little bit
of reverse, Jess, reverse.

I am, I am.

I'm excited.
I'm trying to keep my calm.

We need to catch
a big ol' fat buffalo

about 90 inches long.

Okay, hold on.

He's right there!
Go get him.

Come on, baby.
Come on, baby. Come on, baby.

Where we at?
Talk to me.

We're going,
we're bringing it.

Having fun?

Yeah. I'm getting line.
It's tight.

- Let's get going, girls.
- Back her up.

Turn to stern. There you go.

- He's right here.
- What does it
look like?

He's short.

He's a tiny, little fella,
ain't he?

We fought this fish
pretty hard,
and it's all for nothing,

'cause he's just
too small to keep.

It really frustrates me
to have to put a fish
back in the ocean.

Later, dude.

Any fish that are
under 73 inches

from the fork in the tail
to the tip of his mouth,

we have to let 'em go.

- It's off!
- You got it? Okay.

The sustainability
of the fish is important,

because we want to catch these.

We want our children to be able
to catch these fish, you know.

Let's try this again,
ladies.

Damn it.

Oh, well.

We all worked really good
together on that one,

so that makes me happy.

See how the next one goes.

We just hooked up,
but it was a short.

- That's Tami.
- We like our tunas

like we like our men,
fat and happy.

I wanna know where
those big tuna are at.

I can see why they love
this ... chick.

Right?

She's, like, nice
and, like, nasty
all mixed into one.

The girls definitely have
a little bit of bad luck,

but it seems like the girls
are always fishing around
the meat.

So far, we've only
caught one fish.

Every day we don't catch a fish
down here,

the pressure
just builds and builds.

They seem like
a super confident boat,

and you know what,
we love women on the Hot Tuna,

and we love women
that catch fish.
That's even better.

We might have to make
an allegiance
with this girl boat.

It never hurts to have
more friends on the water.

These girls on the Reel Action,
they're locals,

so they might have
that key ingredient

that we need to have
a successful season

down here in the Outer Banks.

- Whatever it takes.
- Yeah.

All right, boys,
you ready?

Strategy is just drag around
here... and look for a bite.

We finally caught

our first fish
of the season yesterday.

There's a shot!

That's what
I'm talking 'bout! Huh?

Right there, cuz!
Good shot, buddy!

Whoo!

We really couldn't have done it
without Austin.

He really, really
stepped his game up

after struggling
the first few trips out.

Hey, buddy, put that line back.

Be all right
to do it now?

Yeah, go ahead
and do it now.

I was struggling
the first couple trips,

but after we got
the first fish,

I'm starting to become
a real tuna fisherman.

Today is Caine's birthday.

I really appreciate the fact

that he's actually taking
the time to show me

what I need to get done
and do it right.

So I got Caine a cake

for everything he's done for me

and just to wish him
a happy birthday.

I forgot the candles.

Maybe this one will work.

Happy birthday, bud!

- Ha ha, oh, yeah?
- Yeah.

Thank you, dude.

I forgot candles,
so I got you a cigarette.

All right, let's see

out here, boys.

Okay! New area.

We found

There's a lot of life.

We're going to get

Reels of Fortune is looking
