Well, Dionne was a
professional singer

until she quit to raise Faith.

What happened
to Faith's parents?

Faith's mother,
Dionne's daughter,

died when Faith
was just a little baby.

Wow, that's awful. How?

It was a drug overdose.

And as far as

her father goes, no
one ever met him.

The worst part is, she
has a liver disorder.

Oh, she does? That's terrible.

has a genetic liver disorder?

Yes. I've had other
doctors look at it

and they've all
said it was stable.

Well, it probably was stable,

but now the disorder has
begun... decompensating.

Well, I've had our
two top specialists

check the test
results just to be sure.

And they both agree...
Faith's liver is failing.

Well, what are you saying?

I'm very sorry.

Faith has maybe a
month, at best two.

Isn't there something
you can do?

I mean, what about a transplant?

Well, we're going to put her

on the U.N.O.S.
list for a donor,

but given her age,
there's no telling

when a transplant
might become available.

Well, can you use mine?

No. And even if we could,

the organ has to be a match

in both size and type.

But if a transplant does

become available, we have

an excellent rate
of success here.

So, we'll need you to be on
call to bring her in immediately.
