Walker, Texas Ranger (1993–2001): Season 7, Episode 10 - Eyes of a Ranger - full transcript

Country singer Lila McCann stars as Kelly Wyman, an aspiring country singer. One of the many obstacles this precocious teen-ager faces is a slick-talking talent agent, who is the mastermind behind a drug cartel that Walker is trying to bring down.

Ranger Walker, Ranger Walker,

this is DPD Aerial One.

Come in, please.

Ranger Walker, Ranger
Walker, do you copy?

All units on the ground,

this is DPD Aerial One.

Does anyone have
location on Ranger Walker,

Ranger Trivette?

Ranger Walker, do
you need backup?

Whoa!

Maybe we should've
called for backup.

Why?

Yeah.

Why?

May I help you, Rangers?

As a matter of fact,
you can, Lu Chee.

Yeah, where's the 1000
kilos of black tar heroin

you had brought in today?

No, judge, we don't
have an address yet.

Lu Chee heard Brad Alt say that
they were gonna take the heroin

to some loft and break
it down for wholesaling.

Get me that address.

Hi, Walker.

How are you coming
with the warrant?

Judge Bush said he'd sign it.

Great.

Since Brad is Ramsey Alt's son,

he won't issue it until
we have an address.

Everyone's so
nervous about this one,

given Ramsey Alt's
money and power,

everything's gotta
be done by the book.

The guy paves a road or two,

everybody's afraid
of his shadow.

Try built half the highways
in Texas and Saudi Arabia

and just about every
point in between.

How are you guys doing?

We're tailing Brad Alt.

He's headed toward Deep Ellum.

Which is good, because
he's got to land sometime.

Well, when he
does, I'll be waiting.

Okay.

Your mom doesn't want you to
see Brad Alt again, does she?

No. She says he's too old.

Well, listen, guys
don't even get cool

until they get out of school.

So are you gonna
break up with him?

It's not like we're
officially going together.

Hey, Brad.

What do you say
there, Kitty Cat?

Looking pretty good.

Not so bad yourself.

New car today, huh?

Well, you know, it's Tuesday.

Tuesdays are
always Mercedes day.

The only thing I'm missing

is my favorite copilot.
So, what do you say?

Come on. Hop in.

Wonder who the girl is.

I don't know, but she
seems awful young

to be mixed up with
a guy like Brad Alt.

One of my record producers

is gonna come by
the loft this morning.

I told him all about you.

He really wants
to hear you sing.

I wish I could, but...

Hey, Kelly, you're the one

that wants to be a big
country music singer.

I'm just trying to help you,

but I... I really
think that this is a...

An important chance for you.

It's your call.

Okay, but I've gotta
be back by noon,

or I'm gonna be
in so much trouble.

No problem. Come on. Get in.

Okay. Bye, Dory.

Okay, but I gotta sky

I have a big meeting with Garth.

Kelly, one of the
most important things

that an artist needs
to have is dedication.

Now, sometimes
dedication requires sacrifice.

Are you willing to
make a sacrifice

to get your big break?

What is that supposed to mean?

Well, it means that
before you sing...

What are you doing?

Relax, it's how things
are don... No, get off.

No. Listen, don't fight me.

Relax, relax. No, get off of me!

I don't want to do

because it's not an
option to fight me.

Besides, we know you
want it, so will you just relax?

Get off of me!

Texas Rangers.
We have a warrant.

Brad! Rangers!

Wow. That... That
was impressive.

You Rangers sure are some
rough hombres, aren't you?

Let's search the top and bottom.

Seems somebody said
something about a search warrant?

That's right. Turn around.

Get him out of here.

All right, come with me.

Miss?

Come down here.

Look, I wasn't
supposed to be here.

My mom is gonna kill me.

Please don't arrest me.

You're not gonna
arrest me, are you?

I'm afraid so.

Now, you stay right
there and don't move.

Two bags of weed,
some coke and a gun.

Not an ounce of
heroin, let alone a ton.

They moved it. Yeah.

That's great.

A mountain of heroin just
hit the streets of Dallas.

Ramsey Alt!

Ramsey Alt, do you
have a statement?

Sorry, folks. No
sound bites here.

It's been straightened out,

and all charges
have been dropped.

But what about the drugs
found in your son's apartment?

Yes, there was a
small quantity of drugs

found in the apartment.

Unfortunately, some of
my son's acquaintances

have some rather bad habits.

But according to
the search warrant,

the Rangers were looking
for over a ton of heroin

and they found none.

Well, are you going to file
suit against the Rangers?

No. The Rangers
simply made a mistake.

It happens.

Now, if you'll excuse us.

Let's go, Brad.

We didn't make
a mistake, Mr. Alt.

He moved the heroin
before we got there.

Why would my son deal drugs

when he's destined
to assume the reins

of what some would
call an empire?

Doesn't make sense.

Why don't you ask your son?

Look, you made a mistake,

and I'm willing to
overlook it this time,

but if you harass my son again,

I'll see that both of
you lose your badges.

I found him. He's
at the country club.

Mr. Alt?

What are you doing here?

We'd like to talk to
you for a moment.

Privately.

All right, but make it quick.

You guys go ahead.
I'll join you later.

We'd like your permission
to enter the premises

of your international
headquarters.

Oh, really?

You mind if I ask why?

Your son's hiding
1000 kilos of heroin

somewhere inside the gates.

And he's selling it right now.

You're both crazy.

Brad's at the lake.

Get your badges out of my face

before I'm forced
to call the governor.

Mr. Alt.

I'd like to make you a deal.

You just don't get to see

black tar heroin like this, man.

It's all here.

I can step all over it and still
come out with major octane.

Well, then I say let's do it.

Texas Rangers!

How the hell did
you get in here?

Where's your warrant?

He doesn't need one.

Dad?

What are you doing here?

Ranger Walker
made a deal with me.

Said he'd quit the Rangers

if he didn't find you
here with the drugs.

Looks like he still has a job.

Okay. All right.
Look, I screwed up.

I screwed up real bad...

Not even my attorneys can
get you out of this one, Brad.

Even if they could, I...

Dad... Dad, I'm your
son! You gotta help me.

Come on... I...

You gotta help me!
I'm your son! Come on!

Dad, I'm your son.
You gotta help me.

Dad... Dad, come back here!

Don't you turn your back on me!

Well, that's great,
John. Thanks.

Okay, well, that's it.

We have dates booked from July
to September all across America.

Oh! TRIVETTE: All right.

That's great.

Wow. Our very own Kelly is
touring with Michael Peterson.

Way to go, Kelly.

This is so awesome.
Am I dreaming?

Well, it's a dream
coming true, Kelly.

All because you
had faith in yourself

and the courage
to make it happen.

It worries me a
little bit, though.

You have a good
head on your shoulders

and a great mom in your corner.

You're gonna do just fine.

I don't know how all
this is gonna turn out,

but I really do wanna
thank you guys.

Especially my arresting officer.

Ranger Walker,
this one's for you.

Get over here.
