Walker, Texas Ranger (1993–2001): Season 5, Episode 7 - Codename: Dragonfly - full transcript

During his stint in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, Walker and Randy Shrader served in the Special Forces. During a crucial battle, Shrader sells out to the People's Army of Vietnam, abandoning Walker's unit and leaving them for dead. Almost a quarter century later, Shrader has become very wealthy as the lord of a massive drug cartel. To make his hold on the illegal trade even stronger, he and his henchmen steal a state-of-the-art military helicopter, killing several army officers in the process. Walker learns of the helicopter's theft and, once he determines who is the mastermind, decides it is long since time to settle the score with Shrader and bring him to justice ... cleaning the streets of drugs in the process.

I'm with Global Tech Armaments.

I'm here to supervise

Sir.

Halt.

Gentlemen, relax.

Excuse me, sir. This
is a restricted area.

You must leave immediately.

Oh, I understand that,

I'm sorry, sir. Under the
orders of General Garrity,

all clearances have
been revoked until 0800.

Well, I just wanted to make sure

that our baby's prepped for
tomorrow's demonstration.

Preparations were
completed one hour ago.

Now, please, sir.

If you do not leave immediately,

we will be forced to
take you under custody.

What is your name, Marine?

Sergeant Baker, sir.

Well, Sergeant Baker,
you're doing a fine job.

And I will personally make sure
that General Garrity knows that.

Thank you, sir. Have
a good day, gentlemen.

- Stop the chopper!
- Shut it down right now!

Don't move! Stay there!

Think about it, gentlemen.

Are you really ready
to die for your country?

Fire!

Fall back! Fall back!

Good call.

I don't know, Big Dog.

What I know about women. Yep.

Are you saying I don't

Listen... Hey, guys.

Is everything all set for
Alex's surprise birthday party?

What is with you guys?

Alex specifically said she
didn't wanna have a birthday...

Hi.

Alex said what?

Bye, Alex.

What are you two talking about?

Alex, we're just
trying to tell Jimmy

a little bit about how to
deal with the fairer sex.

You two are teaching
him about women?

Yeah. Absolutely.

Hey, what's that
supposed to mean?

Oh, nothing, Romeo.

That was HQ.
General Garrity called.

General Garrity?

Yeah. He said there
was a code blue

out at the old military

Well, what's that mean, Walker?

Well, if it's code
blue... It can't be good.

General, who is Randy Shrader?

Up until June of
1972, I considered him

the second-best
Marine I had ever met.

What happened in June of '72?

You wanna tell him, captain?

Crescent Moon.

By '72, the war had turned.

We were already
beginning to pull out,

and our first consideration
was to make sure

that we left nobody behind.

POWs? GARRITY: Yeah.

Crescent Moon was supposed
to be a fairly ordinary op.

Recon a possible North
Vietnamese POW camp,

bring back the coordinates.

Routine operation.

That's the way it started.

Walker went in with
a team of six men,

all good Marines.

Randy Shrader volunteered
to chopper them in to the LZ.

Come back. Come back.

Come back!

Shrader left them there to die.

Walker was the only
one to come out alive.

Three bullet wounds

and a three-month
stay in the hospital.

We found out later
that the NVA had placed

a $100,000 price
tag on his head.

And Randy Shrader
figured to collect on it?

That's about the size of it.

And when Walker
came out of the hospital,

he went looking for Shrader
in every hellhole in Saigon.

Shrader left nothing
but a trail of death.

Walker, did you ever find him?

Two weeks ago, a
secret military helicopter

equipped with state-of-the-art
stealth technology

was stolen from a
warehouse outside Mesquite.

Now, since that
time, we have seen

two U.S. Marines,
four DEA agents

and two prison guards
murdered in cold blood.

We've also seen an
unprecedented increase

in both cocaine and heroin
being shipped into this country.

Working with Ranger Walker,

we've been able to
link both these murders

and this influx of drugs

to the Vega Garcia drug cartel

operating out of
Northeast Mexico.

You said this helicopter

had state-of-the-art
stealth capability.

Just what are we talking here?

It could land in your living

Earlier today in
a concerted effort

involving Texas Rangers,
Dallas police and the DEA,

a raid was made on this
drug lab in Southeast Dallas.

Eleven arrests were made.

It was just one more part

of an operation
authorities are calling

Operation Pressure Point,

designed to break the backs
of the Vega Garcia drug cartel.

After the raid, Ranger Cordell
Walker of the Texas Rangers,

leader of Operation
Pressure Point,

had this to say:

Ramon del Vega Garcia

is nothing but a lowlife

who makes his living selling
drugs to young children.

And his errand boy, Shrader,
is just a two-bit coward

who has spent the last
20 years hiding from me.

you better buy yourself a

because I'm coming after you.

And this time, you're
not gonna get away.

And, Ramon, I caught you once,

and I'll catch you again.

And this time, they won't
put you in Delanning,

I guarantee you. Dead!

I want this Walker dead!

You name your price, señor.

thousand dollars?

Or did you just have to feel
like you were better than me?

I was always better than you!
