Walker, Texas Ranger (1993–2001): Season 2, Episode 19 - Skyjacked - full transcript

Alex sends Walker and Trivette to go bring back a man who killed a ranger who was sent bring him in. Walker is sullen; it seems that the ranger who was killed was a friend of his and that ...

This is the infamous
Lucasville Prison,

where fugitive Lyle Guthrie
is about to be executed

for killing three
Cleveland policemen.

The victims were
shot in cold blood

after responding to
an emergency 911 call

that turned out to be a trap.

To their fellow
officers' frustration,

Guthrie's date with the electric
chair has been put on hold,

pending extradition proceedings
filed by the state of Texas,

where he's also
facing the death penalty

for the execution-style
murder of a Texas Ranger

prior to the Cleveland slayings.

The jurisdictional
dispute ended this morning

when a federal judge

denied the extradition request.

Convicted killer
Lyle Guthrie will die...

Let's go.

In exactly one minute,
35 seconds from now.

Come on, baby. Give it to me.

Yes?

The stinki" Supreme Court

says Texas gets to kill you.

Mabel, are you sure

you can run this
place while I'm gone?

If an old sodbuster
like you can run it,

don't you think an intelligent
woman like me can run it?

C.D., Mabel has
it under control.

Okay, okay, but listen.

If you run out of goobers

or you run out of beef jerky,

they're right up in under
here in the preserve jars.

They're right up in under
here in the preserve jars, Mabel.

C.D., that's the fifth
time you've told her that.

Try tenth.

Fifteenth.

Listen, detail, detail.

That's what built
this place down here.

Hey, uh, Walker,

you got any room
in there for these?

What have you got in there?

Nothin'. I...

Well, you don't need this.

And you don't need that.

And you definitely
don't need that.

Gimme that.

What am I supposed to do?

You're supposed to
be at one with nature.

That's what.

I mean, you'll
figure out somethin'.

Jimmy.

Alex, hi. You
came to see us off?

Not exactly.

Uh-oh.

Alex, I just don't
like the sound of that.

Extradition order. And
two tickets to Cleveland.

Walker and Trivette are
gonna go pick up a prisoner.

Now, dadgum it, Alex.

Me and Jimmy have been planning

this fishing trip
for over a month.

It took forever to get
Cordell to get some time off.

Alex, get somebody else.

I'm looking forward to this.

I could, but I don't think
Walker would want me to.

Lyle Guthrie.

He killed three
Cleveland police officers

before they arrested him.

What's that got to do with us?

He's been on the top of our
most-wanted list for three years.

He killed a Ranger, Trivette...

execution-style.

Now I remember
reading this report.

Ranger's name was Barrett.

Yeah.

Had a wife and three kids.

Yeah, he did.

What's the matter with Walker?

I thought he'd be delighted.

Cordell was godfather
to one of his children.

He feels responsible
for Barrett.

Why? Yeah, why?

Well, Cordell

was supposed to
have picked up Guthrie.

He got busy doing
somethin' else.

Barrett covered for him.

Guthrie wasted him.

Your contact in Cleveland
will be Lieutenant Levar Dixon.

Barrett was a Ranger.

I'm sure he knew the
risk that was involved.

Yeah, well, tell
his family that.

Rangers Walker and Trivette

to see Lieutenant Dixon.

Lieutenant, yeah, uh,

Roy Rogers and Dale
Evans just rode in.

Easy does it, Dale.

He was looking at you
when he said that, Walker.

Then he'd have to be cross-eyed.

Right through that
door, gentlemen.

And, uh, try not to
get any cow patties

on his new wall-to-wall.

Ahem, from the
looks of this place,

it'd be an improvement.

Thanks for your
time, lieutenant.

Don't thank me.

I had no choice.

You know, Walker, I'm
not sensing the camaraderie

we've come to expect
from Cleveland's finest here.

This slime-bucket took
out three good cops.

Family men, friends of mine.

That Ranger was
a friend of mine.

Guthrie made him
kneel, beg for mercy.

Then he put a gun to
his head and blew it off.

I want him to get the chair.

I wanna inflict as much
cruel and unusual punishment

as the law allows.

Lethal injection is
what Texas law allows.

That's why I want
him executed here.

C.P.D. brought him down.

C.P.D. owns him.

Federal court says otherwise.

Look, he's gonna
die no matter what,

all right?

Lieutenant...

If it means anything to you,

I'd rather see him fry too.

The bed's still warm, babe.

Can't imagine why.

Hey, if you'd rather
peddle headsets

for some airline, then go ahead.

Mark.

Why don't you get that.

It's probably Stephanie.

She's always early.

All right.

Mark, tell Stephanie
I'll be right out.

This is Rangers
Walker and Trivette.

Two Rangers.

I guess they remember
what happened

when they sent only one.

Yeah, I remember, Guthrie.

You know the
only thing I regret?

What's that, Walker?

Is that you and I never got
a chance to go one on one.

Well, come on in here, Ranger.

I'll make that dream come true.

There's nothing I
would like better.

Get this piece of
garbage outta here.

Hey, handsome.

How's it going?

Good.

Got the special meals?

Right here.

To die for, just
like you ordered.

Hey.

You be careful, now, you hear?

Yeah. Now, don't
you worry about me.

What the hell? No way
they're gonna let me

on no plane like this.

He's right. Regulations
stipulate handcuffs only.

We're not on the plane yet.

Oh, let me help you with that.

They're always getting stuck.

Thanks.

You're new on this run, huh?

Yeah.

You know, you're not gonna
get very far without that.

Oh, my nametag again. Yeah.

I guess it's that
identity crisis of mine.

Hey, I'm still
gettin' over mine.

I'm Stephanie Marco.

Stephanie. You're a
friend of Linda's, aren't you?

Yeah, I am.

She talks about
you all the time.

As a matter of fact, this
morning she called me

to cover for her last minute.

Yeah, that's weird.

We live in the same building,
and we usually share a taxi,

but she didn't answer
when I knocked this morning.

I guess she left
early or something.

I think it's the something.

Between you and
me, she and Mark,

they're lighting
the sheets afire.

Oh, really.

Nice earrings.

Oh, thank you.

Here's his ticket.

If it was up to me,

he'd be traveling
in the cargo hold.

If it was up to me, I'd
put him in the cargo hold.

Okay, lieutenant, thanks a lot.

Take care.

Thirty-five?

Yeah.

Uh, excuse me, sir.

I believe you're in my seat.

My ticket says 35C.

Well, mine too.

There's not enough
room for both of us.

Do we have a problem
here, gentlemen?

Yeah, you bet your hide, honey.

You got you two 35Cs.

Hm.

Look, miss, my partner and I

are transporting a prisoner.

It's very important
that we all sit together.

All right. I'll handle this.

Uh, Mr. Hollister,

it just so happens we have
one seat left in first class.

And something tells me
it's got your name on it.

Thanks, but no, thanks.

Company keeps
putting me up there,

I keep trading the ticket in

for seats back here.

Sir, I'd really appreciate it

if you'd make an
exception this time.

Look, partner, I'd like to
help you, really I would,

but, see, I'm in
insurance, Woodrock Life.

Yeah, well,
statistics don't lie.

If this baby goes down,

your chances of survival

increase in direct proportion

to your distance
from the cockpit.

Now, if she can hustle
me up another seat

back here in the safety zone...

It'll be the dead zone

if you don't move your
butt on out of there, pronto!

You pull that again,

you'll spend the next
four hours on the wheel.

Flight attendants, secure doors.

Ranger Walker, I'm afraid
you'll have to move to first class.

I'm not gonna let this guy
out of my sight. I'm sorry.

I guess that makes
me odd man out, man.

Yeah, why don't you go.

I'm sorry, gentlemen,

but Ranger Walker's
assigned to 35C.

And regulations require that
he be the one who moves.

Flight attendants
prepare for departure.

Please, gentlemen,
take your seats.

We're about to take off.

Please.

Put him in the middle seat.

If he's trouble, you
know what to do.

I know.

Shoot first and
come find you later.

One more thing, the handcuffs.

Who has the keys?

I do. Why?

The FAA Requires that
the law enforcement officer

accompanying the prisoner

be in possession
of them at all times...

in case of an emergency.

You understand.

Outside pocket.

This way, please.

We'd like to welcome you

to flight 453 to
Dallas-Fort Worth.

Our food service will
be commencing shortly.

In the main cabin,
we'll be offering a choice

of chicken a la king,
or beef stroganoff.

We also have a
special vegetarian plate.

And today's in-flight movie
will be An Innocent Man.

Oh. Looks like we're in
special-meal city here.

You want me to handle them?

No! Actually, there's
a tofu sprouts in 40

who's kinda cute.

Oh.

They never give
us a break, do they?

Would you get that one?

Sure. Thanks.

Can I help you
with something, sir?

Yeah, this is busted.

I can't get my seat to go back.

Let me see what I can do here.

This is for the far gentleman.

Thank you.

Come on, Ranger.

No way I can chow down in these.

Well, maybe you'll
starve to death

and save the
taxpayers some money.

Could I have an apple
juice with this, please?

Certainly.

Yeah.

I thought you looked familiar.

Say, I hope you don't have
a policy with Woodrock Life.

I-it's a joke.

It's just a joke.

I hope your
policy's paid up, pal.

You better sell him one too.

He's gonna need it
sooner than he thinks.

Here's your apple juice.

Thanks. Flight attendant, uh...

I'm Ranger James Trivette, 35G.

I'm a semi-vegetarian,
so I ordered

the vegetarian special.

You did?

I'm sorry, sir.
We're out of those.

Yeah, but check...

Okay. We have a
vegetarian special.

And the same for you, sir?

We have plenty on board.

Ranger Walker?

Oh, I'm sorry.

Uh... just coffee.

Thanks. Okay.

Are you sure we
can't open that curtain?

I'm positive.

Regulations.

Uh, Ranger as in Texas Ranger?

Yes, ma'am.

Oh, really?

My daughter-in-law,
Nadine, is from Texas.

She's the one that made
George move down here.

I know it.

She made him buy
this fancy house.

It's not my taste,

and it's not George's,
either, believe me.

I mean, all those rooms.

I call it a hotel.

I am always getting
lost in that place.

Can you imagine?

No, ma'am, I can't.

George is in pork bellies.

He's doing very well.

He always sends
me a first-class ticket,

round-trip, of course.

Just between us,

I think Nadine's
afraid that I might stay,

if you know what I mean.

Yes, ma'am.

Uh, would you
excuse me a minute?

Oh.

Ranger Walker, please,

you'll have to
return to your seat.

The captain still hasn't
turned off the seatbelt sign.

Are you sure we
can't open this curtain?

I'm positive.

But to be truthful, I
have thought about it.

Staying, I mean.

She wouldn't even
know we were there.

I mean, Nadine, that's
my daughter-in-law,

well, she made George
buy this huge place.

Well, it's not my taste.

Here's that special
meal you ordered.

Yeah, to die for.

God.

Everything's going
according to plan.

Not exactly.

Seat mix-up.

His partner ended
up in first class.

You mean, that's not him?

No.

I'll take care of it.

Prisoner's loose!

Hey! What's going on here?

Miss, miss, wait a minute!

Shut up!

Sit down and shut up!

Do it! Or what happened to him

will happen to you.

Where's the Ranger sitting?

I don't know.

Where, damn it?

Those kids are gonna
miss their mommy real bad.

Five, 4, 3, 2...

He's up front on the other side.

Freeze!

Stay put. Stay quiet.

Nobody'll get hurt.

Ranger's not here.

He probably slipped
into the cargo hold

or one of the johns.

I'll go check 'em out.

You check into the cockpit.

Give the crew their
new destination.

Open up.

Open up, or there's gonna be

a lot of dead people in here.

First,

the only heroes on this
plane are dead ones.

Second, we're
revising the flight plan.

We're headed to the
Cayman Islands now.

You're going to
jail first, honey.

Then you can go

to the Cayman
Islands. Now, sit down.

Tie her up and gag her.

Say, uh...

you're not gonna fire that
cannon in there, are ya?

This bird'll
depressurize so fast...

All right. This'll do.

You take this one.

He's not in the cargo hold.

Check on first class again.

See what's keeping Rhonda.

It's gonna be okay.

Don't make a move.

Let's go.

It's Walker.

Sit down.

Okay. Two down. One to go.

You find a parking spot yet?

Returning to
Cleveland's our best bet.

The tower's just given
us emergency clearance.

We'll be jettisoning fuel
over the lake and going in.

Okay, get it down
as soon as you can.

Tie and gag him up.

Where's the Ranger
hiding? Where?

Here I am, Guthrie.

Drop the gun.

You miss, Walker,
we all go down.

I don't miss.

Neither do we, Ranger.

Right there, Ranger.

Drop it.

Drop it, or I'll blow you away!

Guthrie goes first.

You think he cares about you?

Do ya?

You bet your butt he doesn't.

How 'bout you?

He doesn't know you
from spit, does he?

'Course not,

but somethin' tells
me he's gonna lose

his nerve real quick

the minute it gets personal.

When you killed that
Ranger, it became personal.

Made my day too...

listenin' to him
plead for his life.

"My wife, my kids.

Please, please."

The way his eyes looked
when I popped him.

I get goose bumps
just thinking about it.

Now, you drop that sidearm,

or these good
folks are gonna see

a real cop killer in action.

Don't do it, Walker.

You got to the
count of ten, cowboy.

Five, 6...

He's gonna do it,
anyway. Walker...

Guthrie, we're landing.

What are you talking about?

The airport. We're going down.

You get this landing
aborted, Walker.

The fuel's been dumped.

We're going down
one way or another.

Stay where you are.

Hang on.

We got a com hookup yet?

Yeah, lieutenant.

We patched into the airport.

Check on Rhonda and Boland.

Clean out that cabin and
cockpit while you're at it.

I want everybody back
here where I can see you.

I don't know, I don't know.

The Ranger thought he
had all of them but one.

Turned out there's
more on board.

What's Walker's status now?

A standoff at last report.

Any casualties?

One wounded.
Poor guy tried to...

Open up in there!

I got the Ranger.

Open up, or I'll kill him.

They've got Walker.

They're beating on my
door. I'm gonna have to go.

Captain. Captain, listen.

Okay.

How is he?

I can't stop the bleeding

and his pulse is very weak.

Where do you think
you're going, Ranger?

I'm going to see if I can help.

Who's gonna help
you when you're dying?

We gotta do something
about the cops outside.

Make 'em start listening up.

Why don't I just pop this one...

You start poppin' Rangers

and this thing goes wrong,

we're all gonna fry.

Not just Guthrie.

Shut up.

I do the thinkin' around here.

Me and my sister.

If I can't call the
shots, she does.

You got that?

He's right, sis.

No sense you all
frying if this goes bust,

but it ain't,

'cause push comes to
shove, we can use the Ranger

to make sure we're doing
the pushing and the shoving.

Guthrie.

Guthrie, this is Dixon.

We're tied into the airphone.

Pick it up. Talk to me.

Lieutenant Dixon.

Well, well, well.
The gang's all here.

Your gang's grounded, Guthrie.

Not for long.

We're gonna be heading
into the wild blue yonder

as soon as you gas up this bird.

We'll talk about that after
you release the passengers...

all of 'em.

Half now.

Half later.

That's not good enough, Guthrie.

I need more.

Make me a better offer.

Dixon.

Dixon, we have three
wounded aboard.

I don't like the sound of that.

What are you trying to pull?

I heard there was one.

Well, you heard wrong,
and you get them first.

After you gas up this bird,

then you get the passengers.

Women, kids, geezers.

You know the drill.

Then we're outta here.

Take it or leave it.

Guthrie, he's hurt bad.
We need a paramedic.

No!

Nice try, Walker.

But I don't want cops
in white jackets up here.

Dixon, gurneys
only, and make it fast,

or you're gonna be taking
out dead instead of wounded.

I want a refueling
truck out there now.

I want two paramedic
vans and a hydraulic lift.

Yes, sir.

I want sharpshooters there,

there and there.

I want this bastard.
I want him bad.

I want him dead.

Guthrie!

Three wounded?

I don't know what the
hell you're up to, man.

They're never gonna
let us take off out of here.

Get out of my face, damn it.

I told you, I do the thinking.

They're never
gonna let us take...

That makes two casualties.

Guess who's gonna
be number three.

Guthrie.

Guthrie, the gurneys
are coming up.

Okay, Dixon. One at a time.

I wanna see that fuel truck,

and I want to see it now.

As soon as we
get the casualties.

Let's go, let's go,
Let's go, let's go.

Watch yourself in there.

Everybody that's
in there is armed.

You stay put, Boy Scout.

Come with me, princess.

Open it when I tell you.

Stay steady.

They're armed, and
they're dangerous.

I don't want
anybody to get hurt.

Check out those injured.

Put him in.

Get that fuel truck in here

so we can get the rest
of the passengers off.

Drive like I say or die.

Her brother sold you
a bill of goods, Boland.

What are you talkin' about?

That line that Guthrie said

about being the
only one that will fry?

Mm-mm.

Accessories to murder
get the same ticket

to the hot seat as the
guy that pulls the trigger.

Get that buttoned up.

Come on.

Move it.

Come on.

Move it.

Unless they cooperate.

Cooperate?

You mean, we can cut a deal?

You cooperate, we'll talk.

Hey.

He's not in charge.

No deal.

Are you gonna let
her tell you what to do?

Yeah, he is.

So get that pilot up there,

and get this bird in the air.

Shut up!

Don't you be telling
me what to do.

They're coming out!

Watch your arm!

Legs together!

Walker, Walker, where
the hell are you going?

Guthrie got away in
one of the ambulances.

Airport road is the
only way out of here.

Heads east towards downtown.

Hey, hey! This is my car.

Then hop in.

Stand on it, man.

Stand on it!

All right! Follow him in!

Get around the back, now!

Move!

Guthrie!

Dreams do come true, huh?

You wanna do it the easy way

or the hard way?

Good. The hard way, huh?

You just can't get
it right, can ya?

Having fun yet?

This is for the Ranger's family.

And this one's for me.

Guthrie's back there.

Alive? Oh, yeah.

How bad is it?

Flesh wound.

First time?

As a matter of fact, it is.

Did I ever tell you about
the first time I got shot?

No, why don't you tell me

while I sit here
and bleed to death.

Well, it was about
ten years ago.

I was chasing this guy
through a cemetery...

C.D., let's go.

I'm coming just
as fast as I can.

I can't go any
faster than I'm going.

Are you sure you can handle
this place while I'm gone?

Like I told you, you old coot,

if you can run it, I can run it.

Haven't we heard this before?

They're worse
than being married.

Look, just in case you run
out of Goobers and beef jerky,

they're in the preserve
jars up in under the bar.

Up in under the bar, Mabel.

Isn't this the tenth
time he's told you that?

Try a hundred.

All right. Let's get
the hell outta here.

Oh, my God, there she is.

Let's head out the back door!
