Walker, Texas Ranger (1993–2001): Season 2, Episode 11 - The Legend of Running Bear - full transcript

Walker doesn't trust a couple of FBI agents, who are on the trail of a Native American accused of murder.

Whoa-ho, whoa. Come
on, come on, come on.

Easy. Attaboy.

He's ready. He's
all ready, Arnold.

I can't believe I let you talk
me into doing this race again.

The spirits must know you
still have the heart of a warrior.

Well, I sure wouldn't
wanna disappoint the spirits.

I wouldn't make fun
of the spirits, nephew.

Steady. Steady.

Okay, now, all you
riders know the course.

Hyah! Hyah! Hyah!

See it?

Okay, let's go.

Hyah! Hyah! Hyah!

Aiee! Whoo! Ho!

Yeah!

Don't you think the spirits
are happy now, Uncle Ray?

I told you not to make
fun of the spirits, Washoe.

Just for that, you go to the
sweat lodge and cleanse your soul.

Again?

Yeah, buddy!

I gotta tell you, Walker,

I'm really looking
forward to this, man.

Are you sure about that?

Yeah, I'm sure. W-why
wouldn't I be sure?

Well, you know, a sweat
lodge isn't for everyone.

I mean, it gets real
intense in there.

I mean, people have
been known to hallucinate

all kinds of crazy things.

I mean, even have visions.

Ah, it's like the '60s
without the drugs.

No, no, no. It's not like
the '60s without drugs.

It's a tradition
that's centuries old.

It's very sacred.

Say hey to your mom.

He's a good kid.

That's my cousin Nadine's boy.

Hey, Eddie.

Let it go, man.

Hey, Sally,

what are you doing
hanging around this city boy?

Leave us alone, Eddie.

What's wrong?

Can't your boyfriend
talk for himself?

Hey, get lost, Eddie.

You wanna make me?

We don't want any trouble.

Oh, yeah? You
already got it, city boy.

You know, ever
since you left the res,

you think you're better
than everyone else.

No. I'm just gettin'
an education

so I don't have to
end up a bum like you.

Oh, yeah?

Well, let me tell you
somethin', city boy.

You're a traitor. Stop it.

Stop it, Eddie.

Your uncle Charlie
"Three Feathers"

doesn't want you hanging
around with this guy.

I don't care.

You better care.

He's head of the tribal council.

Well, the sweat lodge is
gettin' ready to get started.

We gotta get going.

Yeah. Hey, I'm going to the
sweat lodge for the first time.

That's great. Yeah.

You coming, David?

get my stuff together.

It's a long drive back.

Morning classes.

Nice to meet you.

So where's my sweat lodge?

Way out there.

That's right.

Yeah, right.

That's it?

I just thought it was
gonna be bigger.

I mean, do we have
to take our clothes off?

Why'd you stop your car?

Jumped out.

He's gone.

Let's go find him.

No luck, huh?

Don't worry. We'll find him.

And I'm warning you,
you stay out of my way.

I didn't know I was in your way.

You mind?

I wanna know what
evidence you have on the boy.

This is my jurisdiction.
I don't have to tell you.

No, you don't have to tell me,

but I strongly suggest you do.

Okay, okay.

We, uh, found something
in the kid's apartment.

What?

It's none of your
business, Ranger.

Now, that is the damnedest thing

I ever heard in my life.

Two FBI agents arrest a kid.

He jumps out of the
car and disappears.

No.

There's just something
weird about that.

You're right, C.D.

That's why I let David
get away from 'em.

There's something about
these two guys I just don't trust.

You think they're dirty?

It's possible.

You go back and look for David?

Yeah, I went back looking
for him after they left,

but it got too dark.

Don't worry.

I'm not gonna get any closer

to your ugly hide
than I have to.

I'm here to see Walker.

Mabel, I... Uh... Uh...
Don't you speak to me.

You... You made
yourself perfectly clear.

You do not want me.

Well, you just don't
have to bother yourself.

Honey, look, I... Don't
"honey" me, either!

I checked that
FBI warrant for you.

Seems the agents claim they
found the dead guy's wallet

in the kid's apartment.

Don't you whistle
at me, neither.

See you later, sweetheart.

Mwah.

Thanks, Mabel.

Howdy.

Hey, Mabel.

Where is David?

I'm not sure, Sally.

I checked on those guys
who picked up David.

Sanders has been
on the reservation

for about ten years,
and Brody about five.

What's going on, Walker?

I don't know.

Hey.

The warrant's been approved.

We can open up the
safety deposit box.

C.D., will you keep
an eye on Sally?

Yeah. Both of 'em.

Okay, why don't you two
open the safety deposit box.

I'm gonna go look for David.

It's a pretty big country
out there, partner.

Unless he comes in on his
own, it's gonna be awful tough.

I'll find him.

There's a private room

just outside the vault.

Thank you.

All right, counselor.

Okay.

What have we got?

I know this guy.

Arthur Claybrook.

He's a big tycoon, right?

He owns mines.

It'll take a while to get
through all of this stuff.

Looks like we
better get started.

Dadgum it, this thing
stinks to high heaven.

I've said it once. I'm
gonna say it again:

these guys are dirty.

They're as dirty as a
Houston ship channel.

How they slipped through
the cracks of the FBI,

I will never know.

According to this diary,

Charlie suspected things
were going on about a year ago.

But what?

Why did they kill the guy?

Because he found out
exactly what they were up to.

It's all a bunch of
legal mumbo jumbo,

that's what that is.

You believe that?

What's it say?

Damn it, Jimmy,
what does it say?

I hope the vision I saw
was real, Uncle Ray.

Trust in the spirits, Washoe.

Well, there's
nothing else I can do.

The knowledge will
be in your footsteps.

The wind and the
eagle will guide you.

The spirits will
take care of you.

You've never been
wrong yet, Uncle Ray.

Some beautiful people we're
dealing with here, Walker.

Our friends, Sanders and Brody,

they're working for this
guy, Arthur Claybrook.

He owns, or has interest
in, mines all over the world.

Gold, silver, titanium,
cobalt, uranium,

a new vein of which
was recently discovered.

Guess where.

On the reservation.

You got it.

All right, here's the
scheme they're tryin' to pull.

Claybrook owns most of the land

bordering the east
side of this reservation

where the vein
was found, all right.

And Sanders has a brother-in-law

who works in the
county assessor's office.

Claybrook paid this guy
to redraw the property lines

so he could open a mine,

and then he paid
Sanders and Brody

to make sure nobody found out.

Whew.

Charlie did, and
he had the proof,

and that's why they killed him.

And they'll kill David
if they can find him.

Is, uh, Alex working
on the warrants?

Yeah. She's with
the judge right now.

Okay, why don't you go
down there and wait with her.

I'll see if I can find David.

You know where he's at?

Washoe had a vision.

What?

It's worth a try.

All right. Well,
hey, be careful.

Will do.

David.

Okay. Easy.

Just relax.

I gotta stop this blood.

Why did you run?

I didn't.

They made me.

They killed Charlie.

Yeah, I know.

Okay. Okay.

Listen.

Let's get out of here. Come on.

I'm gonna leave you here.

No... But... I...

Just stay here. You'll be okay.

Take the canteen.

You go that way.
I'll go this way.

Ooh.

How.

I'm gonna show you how.

You know, I'm with C.D.

I can't believe the
FBI's involved in this.

Well, with an organization
as big as the FBI,

you're always gonna
find one or two bad apples.

I'll see you two in
the morning, all right?

Okay. Good night.

You know, you took a big
chance going out there alone today.

Yeah, but it was worth it.

Hm.

So in this vision,

did you see anything
besides David and the eagle?

Hm.

Well...

Ah, maybe.

Something maybe more personal?

Maybe.

Well?

Well what?

What did you see?

I...

You know, it's kind
of hard to explain this.

You know.

Well, what did you see?

No, I really can't tell you.

Walker.

All right.

I saw you and me, Alex.

What were we doing?

Eh...

Walker, what were we doing?

We were, uh...

fishing.

Fishing?

Yeah, fishing.
