The Young Riders (1989–1992): Season 3, Episode 14 - Shadowmen - full transcript

Teaspoon falls for Miss Marie who claims to be destitute because of a robbery. But Jesse and Bill learns she has a connection to an outlaw gang. Hickok seeks vengeance outside the law after a child is murdered.

Why all the hardware?

Oh, we just got the incoming
prisoners down
from fort kerney.

My deputy suggested
being extra careful.

Well, be sure to say howdy to
my friend teaspoon back there
at rock creek.

I'll do that.

He ain't gone
ahead and got himself
married again, has he?

My deputy suggested
being extra careful.

I understand.
Well, take care of yourself.

You too.

Bang! You're dead.

How many times have I told you
not to play with guns!

Sorry.

Alan!

Bang.
Bang. Bang.

Oh, my god.

You hungry?

Cody, I am so hungry I could
eat a rattlesnake
with its head on.

Baby.

- Whoa.
- Whoa, ho there!

Cody, I am so hungry I could
eat a rattlesnake
with its head on.

I'll get the man who did this.

- Your move, mister.
- Let's see.

Pardonnez-moi, monsieur.
You are the gendarme?

Yeah, I could be,
depending upon the...

Helping them pass their sunset
years in happiness.

I tell ya, Cody, the boy
has a heart of gold.

Jesse. Lemme
ask you something.

You really think it's nice to
take advantage
of your elders like that?

- Whoa.
- Whoa, ho there!

Nice to see, isn't it.
Jesse treating his elders
with respect,

Enchante.

Nice to see, isn't it.
Jesse treating his elders
with respect,

helping them pass their sunset
years in happiness.

I tell ya, Cody, the boy
has a heart of gold.

Ha! I won. Gimme
my 25 cents.

Pockets of gold is
what he's got.

Thanks.

A hotel? Well sure!
The town's got a fine one.

Run you about a dollar a night.

Jesse. Lemme
ask you something.

How could we help you, miss...

- Marie.
- Marie! Well, it is a pleasure
to be your acquaintance.

Works for me.

Pardonnez-moi, monsieur.
You are the gendarme?

Yeah, I could be,
depending upon the...

I think she's looking at
your badge, teaspoon.

- My what?
- The badge.

Oh, I'm the Marshall, if
that's what you mean,

and I certainly hope it is.

I have a sister in Chicago.

Chicago. Well, I was thinking
of somebody a little closer
than that.

- Marie.
- Marie! Well, it is a pleasure
to be your acquaintance.

This here is William f. Cody
and that there
is Mr. Jesse James.

- Marie.
- Marie! Well, it is a pleasure
to be your acquaintance.

I thought
perhaps you could
recommend a pension.

Run you about a dollar a night.

One dollar?

Yes ma'am.

Is there anything else?

A hotel.

A hotel? Well sure!
The town's got a fine one.

I thought
perhaps you could
recommend a pension.

Uh, well...

Is she looking at me?

Only you.

You were.

But now...

Is there anything else?

Boarding house up the street.

Cost you four bits a night.

Jesse, you know perfectly
well that boarding house

ain't reputable for
a woman like miss Marie.

Bits?

Uh, 50 cents.

Jesse, you know perfectly
well that boarding house

Lou!

Fifty cents. That
will be fine. Merci!

You the posse from cottonwood?

We sure are, sir.
What's left of it.

If I had to guess,
I'd say west
toward rock creek.

So that's it, you're
just giving up?

You the posse from cottonwood?

We sure are, sir.
What's left of it.

Well, what happened to the men
you were tracking?

We damn near caught them.

So that's it, you're
just giving up?

I said we lost 'em, mister.
Besides, these men
need doctoring.

We damn near caught them.

Thought we had
a couple of them trapped.
They put up a hell of a fight.

They split up after that.
And we lost 'em.

Any idea of where
they were headed?

If I had to guess,
I'd say west
toward rock creek.

I said we lost 'em, mister.
Besides, these men
need doctoring.

So let me tell you,
I've got one funeral
to attend tomorrow.

Somehow
I think that's enough,
don't you?

I'm very sorry.
I'm very sorry.

You are my problem.
You and all the other
petty-ante territorial

marshalls 'n sheriffs 'n
deputies who couldn't
catch or hold

a criminal if the man
laid down in front of you
and died.

You are my problem.

Hold on there.
Who the hell are you?

You mind telling me
what you're doing?

Your job, since you are
obviously incapable
of doing it yourself.

Mister. I don't know what
your problem is...

You are my problem.
You and all the other
petty-ante territorial

marshalls 'n sheriffs 'n
deputies who couldn't
catch or hold

a criminal if the man
laid down in front of you
and died.

Marshalls 'n sheriffs 'n
deputies who couldn't
catch or hold

a criminal if the man
laid down in front of you
and died.

Hold on there.
Who the hell are you?

- The future.
- The future.

Miss Marie.
Something the matter?

I think I have been robbed.

Monsieur teaspoon!

Miss Marie.
Something the matter?

Well, here.
You just sit down for
a minute. I'll be right back.

No, please... I don't want to
be alone right now.

I think I have been robbed.

Last night I heard
the noises in my room,
but when I looked around

I could see no one.
This morning
all of my money was gone.

Well, here.
You just sit down for
a minute. I'll be right back.

You warned me of
the boarding house, but I did
not have much money.

Isn't there somebody
who can lend you a hand?

No, please... I don't want to
be alone right now.

It was all my fault.

What makes you say a crazy
thing like that?

You warned me of
the boarding house, but I did
not have much money.

But I couldn't help noticing
you was wearing a wedding
ring. How about...

My husband was killed
three months ago.

Isn't there somebody
who can lend you a hand?

Help you out for a while?

I have a sister in Chicago.

Seein' that boy
get shot like that...

Killed right there
in front of me.

I mean...
I mean, before...

But I couldn't help noticing
you was wearing a wedding
ring. How about...

My husband was killed
three months ago.

Oh. That's a shame.
I am sorry to hear that.

I am sorry. I came here
to tell you of a robbery,
not my life.

I have taken
enough of your time.

Maybe I could lend you some.

You are very kind. But I could
never ask you for anything.

Oh. That's a shame.
I am sorry to hear that.

The trip to Chicago.
Our coach turned over.

He was thrown outside.

He died very quickly.

We were going
to live near my sister.

I was going to teach piano.

You were.

I don't know. People that
look like they shouldn't be
doing what they're doing.

C'mon.

I am sorry. I came here
to tell you of a robbery,
not my life.

You are very kind. But I could
never ask you for anything.

We've given descriptions
to the other stations.

They'll be keeping a look out.

I just feel there ought to be
something we could do.
Other than wait.

Do not worry Mr. Teaspoon.
I will be... okay.

Seein' that boy
get shot like that...

All right.
Hold it right there.

I'm telling you, it was the
worst thing I ever saw.

You ain't blaming
yourself, are you?

Not yet. But I will if the man
who done it don't get caught.

You know I've posted a reward.

We've given descriptions
to the other stations.

Jimmy!

I don't feel like being taken
at checkers, Jesse.

There's some people
around the bank.

Don't do it.

There's some people
around the bank.

What kind of people?

I don't know. People that
look like they shouldn't be
doing what they're doing.

Hired guns by the looks of them.

You mind telling me what
you're doing here
in rock creek?

I do not know you.
And even if I did...
This too much.

Go!

So what are you gonna
do about it?

Knowing he's heading here,
one can assume
he's interested in your bank.

Why don't you just
tell me who you are?

My name is blackhome,
and I am
a pinkerton detective.

Don't do it.

Why don't you take
a look at this?

Whatever it is you got there
don't mean anything to me.

Why don't you just
tell me who you are?

These men are under
my direct employ
and supervision.

Hired guns by the looks of them.

Pinkertons, huh? Yeah,
I've heard of you.

Thomas blackhome,
special operative.

These men are under
my direct employ
and supervision.

I happen to know
he's a good man.

Tell that to the mother and
father of the dead boy.

So what are you gonna
do about it?

And your men stay within
the bounds of the law.

I'll be keeping an eye out
just to make sure
that's the case.

That one, his name's lynch.
Heads up
the seven rivers gang.

Banks have been paying
me to track him for two years.

Now I believe
he's heading for rock creek.

Knowing he's heading here,
one can assume
he's interested in your bank.

A bank that my men have
determined is hard to defend.

Well then, we'll just have to
keep our eyes open, won't we?

So what do you think
has to be done?

Devoting your life to
seeing them hang,

stopping at nothing.
Doing whatever it takes.

He's a real abolitionist.
Even helped John brown.

So what's this fellow
blackhome like, hickok?

It doesn't really matter what
he's like, just as long as
he's looking for them killers.

Stopping at nothing.
Doing whatever it takes.

Blackhome. I appreciate
your help running
these men in.

Well then, we'll just have to
keep our eyes open, won't we?

You can't do that forever.
These men are intelligent.

Lynch in particular.
They can't be caught
by waiting and watching.

So what do you think
has to be done?

But I want to know what you're
doing every step of the way.

Of course.

And I am sure I can
trust you to make sure
that your methods

and your men stay within
the bounds of the law.

It doesn't really matter what
he's like, just as long as
he's looking for them killers.

Well, I don't doubt this fella
blackhome's commitment,

blackhome. I appreciate
your help running
these men in.

But I want to know what you're
doing every step of the way.

No kidding, real pinkertons.

You know something about them?

Well, there's been
books written about them.

Come on, come on.

I don't understand.
Where you are taking me?

I'll be keeping an eye out
just to make sure
that's the case.

Good idea.
You might
learn something.

Well... Alan pinkerton's
the man who started them all.

He's a real abolitionist.
Even helped John brown.

No kidding, real pinkertons.

Well, there's been
books written about them.

Supposed to be real
smart fellas. Pass the salt.

Bet they ain't as
smart in checkers.

Jesse.

Well... Alan pinkerton's
the man who started them all.

Well, I don't doubt this fella
blackhome's commitment,

but something tells me
his methods might
leave a lot to be desired.

He's a man lookin' for
a dog to kick.

Course, eventually,
you'll want to get yourself
a real studio.

But you know, in the meantime.

He's a man lookin' for
a dog to kick.

Maybe he didn't like
what happened in cottonwood.

I don't understand.
Where you are taking me?

I told you. It's a surprise.
So hold your horses.

Come on, come on.

Maybe he didn't like
what happened in cottonwood.

Maybe not.
But I tell you something.

A man who starts
taking things that personal
stops seeing straight.

A man who ain't seeing things
straight shouldn't be carrying
a badge or a gun.

I want to thank you very much.
But I cannot accept
these things.

Sort of a spare.
The saloon wasn't using it.
Supposed to work real good.

Oh, what a wonderful surprise!

A piano.

Sort of a spare.
The saloon wasn't using it.
Supposed to work real good.

I told you. It's a surprise.
So hold your horses.

Hold my horses.

Come on, come on.

A piano.

Sort of a spare.
The saloon wasn't using it.
Supposed to work real good.

But you know, in the meantime.

So I took the Liberty
of paying you up in the hotel
for a couple of weeks.

Strictly a business proposition.

Oh, what a wonderful surprise!

Saloon says all right if you
use it. Even use this room
to give lessons in.

Course, eventually,
you'll want to get yourself
a real studio.

I do not know you.
And even if I did...
This too much.

Well, the way I look at it,
I'm doing us both a favor.

You get to start teaching,
and I get to experience
a little culture.

But you know, in the meantime.

So I took the Liberty
of paying you up in the hotel
for a couple of weeks.

Strictly a business proposition.

You can pay me back as soon
as you start giving lessons.

All right. On one condition.
You will be my first student.

Me?

I want to thank you very much.
But I cannot accept
these things.

Why not?

You get to start teaching,
and I get to experience
a little culture.

I want you to know
I don't appreciate the way you
treated teaspoon last night.

Tell him anything you know.

It's for your benefit alone
that I explain
anything at all.

Teaspoon's a fine Marshall.
Doing everything he can
to track down lynch.

Ah, Mr. Hickok, I've been
expecting you.

I want you to know
I don't appreciate the way you
treated teaspoon last night.

All right. On one condition.
You will be my first student.

Well, I'm awful busy.

Maybe some time, though.
Got to admit I always wanted
to know something musical.

Well come on, give her a try!

Yes!

Mr. Blackhome.

Ah, Mr. Hickok, I've been
expecting you.

Teaspoon's a fine Marshall.
Doing everything he can
to track down lynch.

I don't doubt that. The only
problem is, that's not enough.

C'mon. I want to
show you something.

The microscope confirms
that they're all from
the same source.

Find that source and
maybe it will lead to lynch.

Bravo.

Merci beaucoup.

Merci beaucoup?

Voulez-vous parler
francais, monsieur teaspoon?

Would you like to
speak French with me?

Merci beaucoup.

We're conducting a little
operation tomorrow that you
might find interesting.

Join us if you like.

But keep it to yourself.

Hand writing samples.
Fragments of clothing
and bandages.

Fibers collected from hideouts.

Pieces of that fabric have
been collected at every

I saw it in your eyes
when you were looking
at the photograph.

Find that source and
maybe it will lead to lynch.

You saw that boy get killed.

How'd you know that?

I saw it in your eyes
when you were looking
at the photograph.

But keep it to yourself.

After all, you never know
who you can trust, do you?

We're conducting a little
operation tomorrow that you
might find interesting.

He asked if I would like a
little more... horses.

- I just asked her if she want something more to eat.
- I just asked her if she want something more to eat.

All right, spit it out.

Go ahead, tell them what I said.

Jimmy, past couple days
you haven't been eating enough
to keep a bird alive.

Teaspoon!

Yeah?

I think it is best
if I learn English.

I guess I just got too much on
my mind to enjoy myself.

It ain't everybody
that's bothering you.

It's me. Son, I'm doin'
everything I can
to find that killer.

Yeah, well maybe I can do more.

Jimmy! Jimmy!

Hold on.

He said a fella got him
out of bed last
night to shoe a horse.

So?

Fella matches the description
of the seven rivers gang.
Got a cabin outside town.

Who's in from their runs?

Why is it you think
the gang's gonna show up here?

All right, spit it out.

It just don't seem right,
everybody having
such a good time.

It ain't everybody
that's bothering you.

Well that's real nice of you.
But 50, 75 cents...

I've got twenty dollars.

Yeah, well maybe I can do more.

Looks like he's
expecting trouble.

An informant there says lynch
and the others are to
rendezvous here later today.

Should trickle in one by one.

I've been thinking. On account
of miss Marie's bad luck,

Why is it you think
the gang's gonna show up here?

One of our operators just
relayed a report
from cottonwood.

An informant there says lynch
and the others are to
rendezvous here later today.

I've been thinking. On account
of miss Marie's bad luck,

I thought I might help her out
by givin' her
my checker's winnings.

Well that's real nice of you.
But 50, 75 cents...

Twenty dollars!

Teaspoon?
I was just talking
with the blacksmith.

He said a fella got him
out of bed last
night to shoe a horse.

- Lynch! Fire.
- Go!

Fire!

Guess teaspoon's
smarter than you think.

Hold it right there.

Guess teaspoon's
smarter than you think.

Should trickle in one by one.

That's mccray!

Charlie mccray.
He owns the place.

Looks like he's
expecting trouble.

Get the wagon hitched up!

How is he?

He don't look good.

Lynch will know
about it, somehow.

He always does! And
he'll want it. I've changed
the route to the east.

The gang won't know how
the money is getting here.

They'll have to wait
until it's in the bank.

It goes against my better
judgment, but I suppose
I could deputize a rider,

Jimmy.

He don't look good.

Look, teaspoon, what happened
at that cabin shouldn't have,
but it did.

With you down, it's the
only hope we have.

I just heard.
Is monsieur teaspoon
all right?

Yeah, he's all right
but it was close. Doc says
he gonna need a lot of rest.

What's goin' on in there
ain't gonna make him
feel any better.

My men wouldn't have been
firing at all if you
and your riders

hadn't stumbled on the scene.

I was doing my duty.

And I mine!

Teaspoon was doing
what he thought best.

There's a shipment of gold
coming into your
bank tomorrow.

Lynch will know
about it, somehow.

Somebody's got to get
it done, right, teaspoon?

You wanna go?

Look, teaspoon, what happened
at that cabin shouldn't have,
but it did.

Send him out with you.

I've already got one.

You know miss Marie,
this ain't really necessary.

With you down, it's the
only hope we have.

But something ain't right.
He knows something.

But you will look so nice
with your face neat and clean.

Well, it will be
a change, that's for sure.

But something ain't right.
He knows something.

He ain't telling neither
of us what it is.

I gotta go.

You're taking this too personal.

It's crowding your judgment.

You been like a lone ray
of light in some
pretty dark times.

You have been the same for me.
I owe you so much.

You know, having you
around these past few days...

You been like a lone ray
of light in some
pretty dark times.

It's nice to have a
reason to change.

The hotel...

The piano... even my first
student, Jesse James.

You know miss Marie,
this ain't really necessary.

But you will look so nice
with your face neat and clean.

You have taken good care of
me since I am come
to rock creek.

You have been the same for me.
I owe you so much.

The hotel...

It's nice to have a
reason to change.

You know, having you
around these past few days...

You have taken good care of
me since I am come
to rock creek.

Now you must let me
take care of you.

Nothing else.

The piano... even my first
student, Jesse James.

Well, now that one took some
arm-twisting, let me tell you.

Now tomorrow morning...

No, no, you must get
your strength back.

Your husband.
He was a lucky man.

Ours was a marriage
of convenience.

I should go, but I will come
back tomorrow, as long
as you are here.

He's also Charlie mccray's
cousin, and I think he knows
where lynch is.

Has he talked yet?

No, sir.

He will!

Monsieur teaspoon,
you were right.

It does feel very good to
have a reason to change.

You ought to see yourself.

It does feel very good to
have a reason to change.

What are you doing?
He's just a boy.

Talk to me or I'll make you pay

for everything that happened
all the way from cottonwood

he will!

I ain't gonna let you
do this. You could kill him.

Boys die, Mr. Hickok.

I should go, but I will come
back tomorrow, as long
as you are here.

Well, if you are coming
back tomorrow,
I ain't going anywhere.

Talk to me,
or we'll see it again.

Monsieur teaspoon,
you were right.

What's your name, son?

Lucas.

Lucas.

What are you doing?
He's just a boy.

He's also Charlie mccray's
cousin, and I think he knows
where lynch is.

What happened at pine flats?

That's where it all began.

Else something's gonna
happen here and I'm not gonna
be able to stop it.

Where are they?

If I tell, lynch'll kill me.

Boys die, Mr. Hickok.

You've seen it and so have I.

Said they were gonna be
up at a mine shack
on the other side of town.

If I tell, lynch'll kill me.

No he won't.

Why?

Because I'll find him first.

For everything that happened
all the way from cottonwood

up to pine flats.

What happened at pine flats?

Get on home.

Because I'll find him first.

Lynch.

Get buck, Cody and
any other riders you can find.
Head east.

Lucas.

Well, I'll tell you, Lucas,
if you know anything,
you'd better give it up.

Else something's gonna
happen here and I'm not gonna
be able to stop it.

Teaspoon.

Yeah, come on in.

A ranch outside of town
had half a dozen horses
stolen this morning.

Foreman got shot up pretty bad
but he got to see who did it.

A boy was killed in cottonwood.

Today you were willing
to risk another just to
get back at lynch.

Just do it. Meantime, see if
you can track down hickok.

He's gonna be in for a surprise.

See blackhome, you just gotta
do what it takes.

Horses are there.
Think we've got him.

Pass 'em out.

Foreman got shot up pretty bad
but he got to see who did it.

Anyone we know?

Lynch.

Get buck, Cody and
any other riders you can find.
Head east.

See if you can meet that
shipment of gold headed
towards town.

I thought blackhome said...

Just do it. Meantime, see if
you can track down hickok.

Then murder is what
it's gonna take.

Today you were willing
to risk another just to
get back at lynch.

That ain't right.

Two years ago,
lynch did something
that rendered immaterial

the concepts of right and wrong.

The gold's gone. Someone
must have tipped lynch off.

What are you doing?

Apprehending lynch.

Ain't you gonna go down there?
You don't give him a chance to
surrender, that's murder,

plain and simple.

Then murder is what
it's gonna take.

Hold it!

Horses are a trick.
No one in here.

What?

Where you going?
Listen to me.

No! I'm through
listening to you.

Someone told him
about the shipment change.

Who?

Horses are a trick.
No one in here.

No! I'm through
listening to you.

You know, teaspoon was right.

Going somewhere?

The gold's gone. Someone
must have tipped lynch off.

Sorry.

Lynch outsmarted us.

How did he know?

Someone told him
about the shipment change.

Sorry.

But I think... I think this
gonna frighten you
a little bit more.

You see, pieces keep
showing up everywhere.

Everywhere this lynch
fella goes.

It seems to me you'd be able
to afford a new shawl.

I do not understand.
It was my grandmother's.

You know, teaspoon was right.

Something made you
stop seeing things straight
a long time ago.

It's time I started.

All right, Mr. Hickok
whadda you want?

Going somewhere?

Oh, you frightened me.

All right, Mr. Hickok
whadda you want?

I want lynch. So why don't
you tell me where he is?

Lynch said he'd kill teaspoon
if I told him the truth.

Bein' you care so much
for teaspoon, you couldn't
bear to see that happen.

I want lynch. So why don't
you tell me where he is?

Just what do you think
you can do?

Lady, I don't have times for
your games any more.

You see, pieces keep
showing up everywhere.

Everywhere this lynch
fella goes.

Bein' you care so much
for teaspoon, you couldn't
bear to see that happen.

I do not understand.
It was my grandmother's.

Why don't you stop it.
It's over.

No. I wouldn't.
But I tell you what.

I'll try to, if you tell me
where lynch is.

Heard you was riding
to try and find lynch.

If you want me to.
Ain't been much on teamwork
these past few days.

Lady, I don't have times for
your games any more.

Neither do I.

Lynch said he'd kill teaspoon
if I told him the truth.

If you want me to.
Ain't been much on teamwork
these past few days.

Well, that depends.

On what?

Now teaspoon, you know you
aren't supposed to be riding.

Never stopped me before.

He's got a point.

Are you all right?

You wouldn't understand.

No. I wouldn't.
But I tell you what.

Are you all right?

Well, I ain't exactly up to
snuff, but I'll get over it.

I'll try to, if you tell me
where lynch is.

How'd you figure
out where lynch is?

All that time around
blackhome, something
must've rubbed off.

Want to join us?

Hey!

Lynch!

Well, I ain't exactly up to
snuff, but I'll get over it.

Get over almost anything, you
give me the chance.

On what?

On whether you got any
idea of where he is.

I know exactly where he is.

Well then we better get going.

Now teaspoon, you know you
aren't supposed to be riding.

Lynch!

All that time around
blackhome, something
must've rubbed off.

I'll get it.

I'll take him, Mr. Hickok.

C'mon, blackhome.
Let's just take him in.

Hold it right there.

This is for what you did to...

No!

Dammit! You're a lawman.

You don't understand.

I have to kill him
for what he did at pine flats.

Nice work.

A boy, really.

- Blackhome, that ain't
no reason...
- He killed my son.

He killed a pinkerton
on his first assignment.

Thank you for leading me here.

I have to kill him
for what he did at pine flats.

No!

It's too late.

Hold it right there.

- Blackhome, that ain't
no reason...
- He killed my son.

No.

Dammit! You're a lawman.

Then he shall get what he
deserves, I promise you.

But don't let the man
who killed your boy
destroy you too.

He killed a pinkerton
on his first assignment.

No, he didn't.

I think you just proved that.

Blackhome.

No, he didn't.

But don't let the man
who killed your boy
destroy you too.

It's too late.

You're going someplace?

Miss Marie.

How come?

My sister, she is sick.
Her husband, he tries to
comfort her but I am family.

The day lynch killed my
boy, he killed me too.

I must return to Chicago.

My sister, she is sick.
Her husband, he tries to
comfort her but I am family.

Chicago.

It's a pretty long
ride for a piano lesson.

I do not know. I feel it could
be a very long time.

Ah well, right now that
don't seem so important.

You're going someplace?

Monsieur teaspoon, I don't
know how to tell you this.

It's a pretty long
ride for a piano lesson.

How come?

You must not looks sad.
Today you captured a bad gang.
You found the town's money.

Ah well, right now that
don't seem so important.

No, I felt them too.

I hope it ain't serious.
Do you think you gonna
be gone a long time?

I do not know. I feel it could
be a very long time.

Probably shouldn't have
felt them in the first place.

Thank you for helping me change.

You must not looks sad.
Today you captured a bad gang.
You found the town's money.

Au revoir, monsieur teaspoon.
I will never forget you.

This is not what I wanted. You
have done so much for me.

You done the same thing for me.

You made me feel some things

I wasn't sure
I could feel any more.

Marshall and the rest of 'em
are waiting down
the road a bit.

You're
an exceptional fellow,
Mr. Hickok.

The pinkertons could use
a man like you.

No, I don't think so.
I belong here.

That's the last
of it. All aboard.

That's the stage.
You want some help?

All aboard.

Au revoir, monsieur teaspoon.
I will never forget you.

Thank you for helping me change.

Marshall and the rest of 'em
are waiting down
the road a bit.

I appreciate you
taking her with you.

Will do.

Ya!

You're
an exceptional fellow,
Mr. Hickok.

Here you are.

No, I don't think so.
I belong here.

The future holds many changes.
Why not change with it?

I guess I like
the way things are.

Which ain't to say I wouldn't
work with one of you fellows
you come back this way.

Provided you let know
what's going in.

- On my honor.
- All right.

Yeah. That he is.

How about you?
Miss Marie leaving 'n all...

Guess not.

Jimmy, you done good.
Took care of lynch
and blackhome,

guess it wasn't meant
to be, huh?

Guess not.

Will do.

Well. Thank you. I'll make
sure to put in a good word
for you at your trial.

Thank you for letting me save
teaspoon a little bit of pain.

He's a real fine man.

I just want to thank you
for what you done, is all.

Yeah. I guess I'll get
back to the station.

Wasn't easy for me neither.

Oh, yeah. The
prisoners on their way?

Yeah. Blackhome too.
You know I think
he's gonna be all right.

That's good.

How about you?
Miss Marie leaving 'n all...

I'll just... I'm gonna stay
here for a while.

Yeah. I guess I'll get
back to the station.

I'll just... I'm gonna stay
here for a while.

Guess not.

Jimmy, you done good.
Took care of lynch
and blackhome,

didn't let your feelings
get in the way of
doing what you had to do.

Wasn't easy.

Au revoir, miss Marie.

I just want to thank you
for what you done, is all.

Teaspoon. I...

And I think the less said
about that the better.

Yeah. I guess I'll get
back to the station.

I'll just... I'm gonna stay
here for a while.

Au revoir, miss Marie.
