Little did I know then
that it had an evil life
of its own.
That pearl embodied the
very essence of greed.
The pearl's evil spirit
was able to feed
on Frederico's true nature.
Which was an unbridled lust
for wealth and power.
Frederico used the energy
of the pearl for his own gain
at the cost
of his immortal soul.
I tried to stop
his terrible corruption
and in return, he cursed me
with a fate worst than death.
Eternal life
without eternal youth.
Some years later,
Frederico disappeared.
