[music continues]

[beeping]

[cawing]

[hissing]

Keep your eyes open.

Louisiana bayou is populated
with some dangerous beasties.

Bring 'em on, Race.

I'll take a gator over these
bloodsuckers any day.

I second that.

Hey, Hadji, how come these pests
aren't biting you?

- We have an understanding.
- Oh, come on.

- What's the trick, pal?
- It is an old family secret.

The proper frame of mind.

A correct spiritual
point of view. The right diet.

But mostly...it is this
mosquito repellant.

Would you like some?

[laughing]

Colonel Marcus, care
to explain why Uncle Sam

wanted to drag me
all the way out here?

All in good time, doctor.

I'd rather have Professor Cruz
answer all your questions.

[beeping]

Look.

Sorry about all
the cloak-and-dagger stuff.

'But our work is top secret
in nature.'

(Colonel)
Here at Project Gateway

we're researching faster
than light travel

force fields, teleportation.

Yes, I've been an active
theoretical consultant

from day one.
But why this invitation?

[chuckles]
Well, I'm no egghead,
but as I understand it

we've used some
of your theories

to cheat around the physical
laws of time and space.

[elevator rumbling]

[clanging]

(Colonel)
Last week, the research
took an unexpected turn

when Cruz actually
dissected normal space.

What did you find, colonel?

We're hoping you can
tell us, Race.

[slow-paced music]

You two have met. I briefed
them as per your request.

Ah, can't we go anywhere
without running into

one of my dad's ex-girlfriends?

Doesn't look so ex to me.

Everyone, I want you to meet
Professor Diana Cruz.

An old friend of mine.

Forgive me, doctor,
he's just a bodyguard

at my former
research project.

No problem.

It's an honor to finally meet
you in person, professor.

Ah, the honor's
all mine, doctor.

Mmm, I see you're using my
prototype force field generator.

(Diana)
Yes, it's technology
is the key component

'to all of our research here.'

But this is what I wanted
you to see, the gateway itself.

[all gasping]

(Diana)
We think that vortex you see

'is the gateway
to another dimension.'

'So, we decided to send a small
unmanned probe into it.'

'To discover the undiscovered.'

What the probe transmitted
to us was incredible.

Look at what it found.

[beeping]

Another dimension.

So, my theories were correct.

Precisely.

That's why Dr. Oatsky
and myself believe

the Quest are the most
qualified to evaluate

our little discovery.
That's why you're here.

First, we'll retrieve
our probe and study

all it's latest
findings together.

Just give the word, boss.

Let's do it.
Widen the gateway.

[sizzling]

[sizzling continues]

[all gasp]

Alright, Ken.
It's wide enough.

Reel it in.

Wait. I'm getting
some kind of power surge.

Uh, something else
is coming through.

- Cut the power.
- I am trying, I'm trying.

These controls are useless.

[sizzling]

Don't look now.
We've got company.

[sizzling]

First visitors
from another dimension.

Hang on a second, doc.
We don't know what they'll do.

[sizzling]

Stand clear,
those might be weapons.

[sizzling]

- I'm going to talk to them.
- Be careful.

Hello. I'm Diana Cruz,
the inventor of that portal.

Our contact with your
dimension is peaceful.

- They're not responding.
- Maybe they're just rude.

Hello. Excuse me!

[sizzling]

Did you hear me?

Colonel, no!

Aah!

(Diana)
Colonel!

[sizzling continues]

Professor Cruz, uh, the gateway
is getting wider.

I don't like this.

We have to stop them.

[dramatic music]

Yes and I think
I see a weakness.

- Dad.
- Dr. Quest, wait.

Oh, he's crazy.

This equipment didn't make the
gateway, it only wedges it open

from the other side.

Amazing! A life form
of pure energy.

It looks like metal.
I think I can..

- Please, dad, don't.
- Don't touch it, doc.

I don't think they could've
come here on their own.

If I'm right, there are only
two ways to stop them.

Believe it or not...
this is the easy way.

[buzzing]

- Doctor.
- Dad, get out of there.

[dramatic music]

[sizzling]

[both grunting]

- Jonny.
- Dad!

[sizzling]

Dr. Quest.

Dad.

[buzzing]

Cruz, what's it doing?
What is that?

I don't know. I've never seen
energy like this before.

[buzzing]

[gasps]
Oh, no.

I thought I'd take a look around
with our security cameras..

...here's what's
outside right now.

[beeping]

[music continues]

(Colonel)
'They're changing our world
into theirs.'

(Diana)
'They obviously need
our equipment to do it.'

That's why this lab is safe.

Now..

That's it. I'm going to stop
them one way or another.

But how?
Their forward energy.

'Our weapons probably
won't have any effect.'

I have something
more drastic in mind.

You come with me
to the generator control.

But, but I-I don't
understand. What--

Understanding isn't relevant
just cooperation and silence.

Got it?

Now, let's get
to those generators.

Professor, something's
happening.

[zapping]

[dramatic music]

Dad understood what's going on.
I have to go after him.

Out of the question,
it's too dangerous.

I'm getting you out of here.

Where's your assistant
and the colonel?

I saw them head toward
the generator controls.

The four of you get away
from this place.

- Dad, we can't..
- Not without you.

No arguments.

Jonny, I promise I'll get you're
father back if it's possible.

Now, move it.

You too, Diana.

This is my lab,
I'm not leaving.

Marcus probably went
to blow up the generator.

That's insane!

We use a quantum linear
accelerator

'the explosion
will destroy us'

'and half of the state
of Louisiana.'

(Race)
'You have to understand
the military mind.'

'If Marcus thinks
this country is in danger'

we're all acceptable losses.'

I won't do it, colonel.

The explosion will
wipe out millions.

I don't believe you.

You'll say anything to protect
your precious project.

We'll be the only casualties.

No, listen to me.
I-I don't think..

[gunshot]

Then don't think.
Just give me that button.

[sizzling]

I do not think this is a good
idea. Race wanted us to leave.

We have to find dad.

He's the only one
who can stop these things.

But why grab three
hoverboards from the boat?

We don't know what the terrain
is like over there.

This one's for dad.

I need you to stay here and
monitor things from this end.

I've programmed my watch
frequency to track dad's.

Well, I think I understand
these controls.

Are you sure
you don't need me to come?

I'm sure. We need you
to be an anchor to our world.

I will do my best.

- I know you will, pal. Ready?
- As I'll ever be.

[both gasp]

It is up to them now.

[zapping]

[instrumental music]

(Hadji)
'Jonny, Jessie.'

'Jonny, Jessie.
Come in, please.'

We read you
loud and clear, bud.

'Are you alright?'

(Jessie)
'So far so good.'

'This place
is just plain weird.'

According to these readings,
dad's about five kilometers away

and closing.

(Jonny)
'How are things on your side?'

Well, right after you left, our
visitors summoned a big machine

then disappeared.

'It's attached itself
to the gateway.'

'I cannot guess it's purpose.'

How's that button coming?

(Ken)
'All finished.'

- 'Colonel, wait.'
- There's got to be another way.

Put down the gun, colonel.

[gun cocks]

Step aside, Bannon.

Listen to me,
you're making a mistake.

(Colonel)
'This is your last warning.'

[siren wailing]

Alright, that's it.

[siren wailing]

[Ken grunts]

You idiot!
America is at stake.

I don't listen to reason.

It's almost alive.

If it weren't so serious,
this would be kinda beautiful.

Well, it's making me
sick to my stomach.

The sooner we find dad
and get outta here, the better.

Almost there.
Just over two kilometers.

- 'Jonny!'
- I see em'. Follow my lead.

[zapping]

[zapping continues]

thud

Out of my way, civilian.

[both grunting]

[grunting continues]

Hang on.

A-ah!

[intense music]

Got it.

Thanks.

Stop it.

There's no time to waste.

[alarm beeping]

'Twenty-five gigaton
detonation.'

25 gigatons!

(Colonel)
'You were telling the truth,
can we stop it?'

No, there's no
stopping it now.

In ten minutes,
we'll be ground zero

'with an explosion
visible from the moon.'

[clicking]

(Race)
'What are you still doing here?'

Actually, don't bother,
I can guess.

Jessie and Jonny went through
the portal to rescue the doc.

Of course they did.

I should've seen this coming,
knowing the three of you.

How-how can I help?

Those alien creatures have
grafted their technology

to our gateway.
Patched into our satellite view.

[thunder rumbling]

It's getting even worse.
Now did you see, Bannon?

I did what I had to do
for our country.

I know that, colonel. I just
wish that doc were here.

He has a knack for solving
global threats

usually without
blowing everyone up.

(Jessie)
I see a clearing.

Dad!

(Jonny)
'Are you okay?'

- We're getting you outta there.
- Cover your eyes.

swoosh

Well done.
I'm surprised to see you.

It's not like Race to let you
run off into another dimension.

I think dad's got
problems of his own.

You said you know
how to stop them.

Yes. And it's quite obvious
when you think about it.

This whole thing started
when Professor Cruz

sent her explorer probe
to this dimension.

They need our probe
to keep the gateway open.

Precisely. I want the two of you
to get through the gate.

When you're clear,
I'll smash the probe.

No way, dad,
we're not leaving you.

We've gone through this routine
with my father, so forget it.

- That's it.
- What's it, dad?

Routines.

These units usually
have some kind of self destruct

sub routines.
Yes. Here it is.

[clicking]

Okay. That's it.

[beeping]

Come on. The timer's
set for five minutes.

[whooshing]

- What's that?
- Trouble.

Move it.

[growling]

(Jonny)
'Nobody said anything
about a watch dog.'

It's falling behind.

- 'Dr.Quest.'
- I read you Race.

The lab generators are going
to blow in two minutes.

(Dr. Quest)
'Good heavens.'

We're trying to shut down
the reaction

but it doesn't look too good.

Don't shut it down,
it's the answer to everything.

We'll see you in 30 seconds.

What are you going to do?

Get our two problems
to cancel each other out.

[intense music]

Are we glad to see you.

Force field generator.
That's the answer.

What do you mean?

No time to explain.
Everybody evacute this complex.

Get as far away as you can.

Come on, everyone.

[intense music]

[beeping]

[rumbling]

- The sky.. It's horrible.
- Come on.

[intense music]

He's going to contain the
explosion in that force field.

Jonny, you're father.

Don't worry. If anyone
can do this, it's my dad.

Any second now.

[monster growling]

[growling]

Sorry, Fido, but I can't
stay to play fetch.

pew pew pew

[growls]

boom

[dramatic music]

Look.

[exclaims]

splash

Got you, dad.

I wasn't sure that would work.
The theory was sound, but--

Hey, folks, need a lift?

Sorry about those sucker
punches, Bannon, I just--

You just did your duty.
No hard feelings. Okay?

Hey, Race how about letting me
drive for a while.

Be my guest.

An old friend and I have
a little catching up to do.

Steer clear of any other
dimensions. Okay, son?

You don't have
to tell me twice.

(automated female voice)
'The approaching bridge
is worth 400 points.'

(Jonny)
Missiles away.

boom

(automated female voice)
'Warning.
Approaching on your tail.'

(Jonny)
'I can't shake it.'

[intense music]

[beeping]

'So long, sucker.'

(automated female voice)
'Game over.'

[theme music]
