In an attempt to discover the reasons
behind an incomprehensible homicide
committed by Salvatore Frolo, a man
discharged from a psychiatric hospital
who killed Antonio Tindari, the owner
of a casino recently opened up north.
Inspector Cattani meets
up again with Tano Cariddi,
who has become
director of the Antinari Bank.
He is preparing to invest a
substantial amount of Mafia money
on the stock market.
With this in mind, Tano marries Ester,
the daughter of the financier Rasi,
who he has framed with the
help of the sinister Espinosa,
A man of a thousand
powers and mysteries.
Rasi commits suicide.
Ester stands by Tano
for the purpose of revenge
and to lead him to his ruin.
Meanwhile Corrado, who has
gradually fallen in love with
Judge Silvia Conti,
following a courageous
