The Mole (2022–…): Season 1, Episode 9 - Cold Hard Cash - full transcript

With the end in sight and no one left to trust, the four remaining players in the game bundle up for a grueling trek across the Snowy Mountains.

[Joi] We won't get lost.

[William] Everyone's been trying
to sabotage since the beginning.

The hard part is figuring out
who's doing it not to get caught.

[Avori] At the end of the day...

Don't mess it up.

...you're friends,
but inside the board game...

- [William] Where is she?
- ...you're enemies.

Oh, I hate these people.

[Kesi screams]

- [William] I'm coming, ladies.
- That's no money.

- Ah!
- [explosion]

[Joi] I give this game my all.

You're the shithole Mole.

And it's my time to shine.

Mission's over.

Let the fireworks begin.

[tense music playing]

The final results of the quiz
have been tallied.

Jacob and Joi.

There is one more seat in the final four,

but that also means
one of you is going home.

[Joi] I am not looking at faces.

The only thing that I'm trying to do
is keep my composure.

[Alex] Next up...

is Jacob.

It's been a hell of a run.

[Joi] I'm petrified.

I hear my heart beating thump-thump
outside of my chest.

I could be going home.

[sighs]

[William] Oh my God.

Jacob's not the Mole and I just answered
so many questions on the quiz for him.

Fortunately for me, I split my answers

between a few people who
I think are suspicious, and it saved me.

- Are you okay, Joi?
- [Joi] Yeah.

I'm just shocked.

He was the realest dude
that played this game for sure.

You okay?

I mean, no.

- Are you surprised?
- I'm quite surprised, yeah.

[Jacob] I'm glad I got to come here

and experience, you know,
the whole country.

I had to get a passport to come here.

It-- [chuckles]

It's been an experience of a lifetime.

I can't believe I'm going home. [laughs]

I can't believe I--
I got beat out by these people. Hmm.

[Jacob] I'll go back to fighting fires
and driving ambulances

till the next big adventure comes my way.

- Good luck out there.
- It's been a pleasure.

Travel safe.
We'll see you on the other side.

Alrighty.

- See you on the other side.
- Good luck.

This is going to be
a whole different game now.

Final four.

Final four, guys. What the heck?

I don't think it's really sunk in yet.

[William] I always expected to be here.

I've played my game.

Meanwhile, you know,
other players who try to adjust

and play other people's games
and let other people manipulate them,

you know,

I'll see you at the reunion.

How does it feel
to be the last man standing?

Girl power
to a whole different level, huh?

[Alex] Leaving the city of Sydney behind,

for their next mission,
the players are heading southeast

deep into the Snowy Mountains.

The highest point on the continent,

it's a rugged and unforgiving landscape.

And as our remaining players
make their push for the final,

here too only the strongest will survive

in the most physically
demanding mission to date.

[William]
This is actually phenomenal snow.

I didn't realize there was
this much snow in Australia.

[Kesi] Guys, what do you think
we're doing today?

We're gonna be strapping our feet in
and going for a nice little hike.

[Kesi] The Mole is here.

And there's only three
other people beside them.

That means the Mole has nowhere to hide.

I am pretty confident Joi's the Mole.

But these other two contestants,
Avori and Will, are not innocent.

Both of them have lost us money
on multiple occasions.

They have the résumé
to be the Mole as well.

- Y'all look a little nervous.
- [Kesi laughs]

I want to win money today.
That's what I'm nervous about.

[Avori] From the beginning of this game,
I have said it's Casey, Jacob, or Joi.

Casey went home. Jacob went home.

So the only person left
on my suspect list is Joi.

In saying that, though,
Will and Kesi are still here.

I don't trust either of them.
So I'm not gonna rule them out.

- [William] God.
- [Avori] We're gonna die.

[William] You can hear the wind.
Avori's gonna be a popsicle.

[Alex] Hi, guys.

Come on down.

How are you feeling?

[William] Phenomenal. Nice and warm.

[Kesi] Oh my God.

[Alex] Here you are
at the literal peak of the game.

Welcome to the final four!

[cheering]

In the Snowy Mountains.

They're literally called
the Snowy Mountains.

Original name, I'll give it to 'em.

We are nearing the end of this game.

Your last mission in Sydney,
you banked nothing.

The prize pot still stands at $69,500.

And I know money must be
weighing heavily on your minds.

I am here to tell you,

money will be weighing heavily on you.

Literally.

- I think it will be super physical.
- Yeah.

[Alex] Today, you could win
a cool $20,000 for the pot.

Cold, hard cash on a cold, hard mountain.

If you haven't figured it out yet,
this mission is going to be a snow rescue.

Yes!

[Alex] In this ultimate test of endurance,

the cash you'll be looking for
is hidden along two tracks

on opposite sides of one
of Australia's highest peaks.

So, to collect it all, you're going
to need to divide and conquer.

But remember, that means one of you
will be working directly with the Mole.

So, choose wisely.

- All right. Let's go, guys.
- [Joi] Yeah.

Hearing we have to work in pairs,
I'm bummed out a bit because

I feel like there will be
sabotage along the way.

And if I'm not on the same team
as everyone, I can't watch them.

[William] What do you wanna do?

I think as far as, like, physicality goes,
I think we have to be split.

So you guys wanna work together?

- I think we can do this.
- [Joi] Yeah.

- We'll get it done.
- Yeah.

At this stage of the game,
Will is at the top of my list.

But I am threatened by Kesi,
and I think I need to keep my eye on her.

Our previous mission didn't go as planned.

That's him! That's him!

- [Kesi] Joi, I don't think it's that one.
- [Joi] Which one do you think it is?

I think it's this one.

If we release that, you're on your own.

This mission, my strategy is
to let Kesi take the bull by the horns.

This is her mission to show me
that she isn't the Mole.

- As long as Avori's good with me.
- [Avori] Let's do it.

- You good?
- I'm good.

[William] Opposites attract, right?
That's gotta be our strategy.

Let's just call a spade a spade.
Nobody wants to work with Avori.

She's so determined
to constantly put suspicion on herself.

[Avori] I can't run at that pace.

If you keep doing that,
you'll have to keep stopping.

This is horrid.

That's so heavy.

[William] But this close to the end,

I'm asking myself,
what if it's not an act?

What if she really is the Mole
hiding in plain sight?

Today I'm gonna find out once and for all.

All right. You will head
to your starting positions,

where you'll find everything
you need for this mission.

Hope it's a snowmobile.

[Alex] You have two hours
to make it to the top.

Only the money that makes it will count.

Good luck out there and stay warm.

Bow!

[William] Let's go.

[Alex] Keep the blood going.
Oh, this is a good sign.

Alex, can I switch?

- Girl.
- Go, team, go!

[Alex] Players, you are heading
into extreme conditions.

To make it to the end,
you'll need specialist equipment.

- We can do this.
- Yeah.

[Alex] A sled, or a "pulk,"
as locals call it...

[William] Okay, uh...

Snowshoes.

[Alex] ...and a tracking device,

which will be essential
for locating the cash.

Both teams will have three stops
to make on the way to the summit.

Each one is marked by a beacon.

Once you reach the beacon,
track down and rescue the stash

and transport it to the end on the sled.

But beware, players.

- [Kesi] My God.
- This is heavy work.

This is not easy. [laughs]

And you'll need to keep up a constant pace
to make it to the finish in time.

[Avori] All right. Let's make some money.

Let's go, Avori.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Avori] This will all be uphill.
I think we pace ourselves.

You know?

Looks like
we'll be veering off to the right.

- You see that?
- [William] Yeah.

[William] It is a real deal,
very steep mountain,

and I can already see the red markers
we're supposed to follow along the way,

and they're disappearing
into the distance.

Right off the bat, I'm nervous.

[Avori] Talk about a calf workout.

That looks pretty far.

[Avori] Holy crap.

[William] I asked for snow dogs
and got turned into the snow dog.

[Kesi grunts]

[Joi grunts]

- [Kesi] Just pace yourself.
- [Joi] Yep.

Oh my gosh.

I'm already tired.

This is physically daunting,
but I'm pumped.

[Joi] It's all for the pot.
We're doing it for the pot.

I'm not here to manipulate anybody.

I want to put as much money
in the pot as I possibly can.

- Are you okay?
- Yeah.

Okay.

I can't say the same for the other people.

I don't trust anybody
but myself right now.

- Have you ever done anything like this?
- No.

[Kesi] I am definitely going
to be keeping a close eye on Joi,

but I hope that Joi's also keeping
a close eye on me.

Come on. Let's go.

My current strategy is to be suspicious.

Play some funny games.

And see how they pan out.

There's a beacon there.
That means there's some prize money.

[Alex] Congratulations, players.
You've reached the first beacon.

Now all you gotta do
is find the hidden stash

worth $1,000 using the tracker.

- [beeping]
- Maybe we need to go up.

[Alex] The beeps will increase
as you draw nearer.

- [Kesi] What does it say?
- [Joi] It just says "searching."

[Alex] But one wrong step
and the trail will go cold.

[Kesi] Maybe stop while it's searching.

- [Joi] You think it's over here?
- Huh?

Joi's track record with directions started
with her first mission in the jungle.

So where exactly do you think we are?

Over here somewhere, it has to be. I mean...

Since then, we've all been weary of Joi
and her ability to work with maps.

[Joi] It's over here somewhere.

Hold on.

[Kesi] But today, I decided that
she's in charge of navigation

to see what she's going to do.

[beeping continues]

[Kesi] Do you see anything?

[Avori] Oh, look.

There's our first checkpoint. Phew!

First one.

- You gotta turn that tracker on.
- [William] Yup.

- [Avori] Is it tracking?
- [William] Yeah.

Just follow me.

The tracker is somewhat confusing.

- [beeping]
- It's pointing this way.

I think you gotta keep walking around.
It should be getting stronger.

Why did it go fast right there?

- [beeping speeds up]
- Oh, shit.

When you point it
in the right direction, it beeps faster.

And then when you get closer,
it starts beeping the fastest.

Got it, got it.

[Avori] Oh, I see it.

[William] It's a block of ice.

[rapid beeping]

[William] Cold, hard cash, huh?

That is next level.

Come on, Aves.

[Avori] My shoe came off.

- [William] Avori!
- What?

- What are we doing?
- I didn't notice it came off.

We're not even done with one beacon,
and it's already started with her.

- [Avori] That was so weird.
- [William] I'm sure.

Nothing's ever sat right with me
the way she goes about missions.

You eventually have to ask yourself,
could it really be this obvious?

Or is this girl really the Mole?

- Don't let that fall, Avori.
- I won't.

Just trust me.

- [Kesi] Do you see anything?
- [Joi] Not yet.

- I'm following the tracker.
- [Kesi] Okay.

[Joi] Keep your eyes peeled
for a bag of money.

[Kesi] All right. Let's go.

- [Joi] It's over here somewhere.
- [Kesi] Are you sure?

[beeping continues]

[Joi] Let's just walk over here.

Where the heck is it?

[Kesi] The tracking device
is not that complex.

Just keep looking.

I don't have the tracking device.

- Oh, wait.
- It says "search."

You have to be on, um...

[beeping continues]

...tracking.

No. SE.

- What's over there?
- [rapid beeping]

- [Joi] You see that?
- [Kesi] Oh my God.

- [Joi] Is that it?
- Yes!

All right.

Why did we go so far that way?

I don't know. Sorry.

It was my bad.

[Kesi] Oh...

Okay, let's go.

[Joi] That's it, though.

[Kesi] We found the block,

but Joi wasted so much time already.

[Kesi] Let's get out of here.

It seems very Mole-like.

We got the first one.

- [Joi] Let's go. We gotta keep moving.
- [Kesi] Get out of here.

[William] Come on, Avori. We're cooking.

We're almost at second beacon now.

[Avori] Let me do the tracker.

[William] I got it.

[Avori] Why won't you let me do
the tracker?

'Cause, Avori... I'm not losing.

You've tanked every single mission.

I don't know what you'll do
when I give you this tracker.

- Have fun finding it.
- It's fun.

Not gonna happen.

[rapid beeping]

[William] What? This one has 3,000!

Really?

[Alex] Good news, players.

Beacon two stash is $3,000.

And just to make it easier to carry,

it's been split up into
three separate blocks of ice.

You're welcome.

Look out.

I'm doing the math,
and I'm like, you know... [chuckles]

...if we get even $10,000,
this is gonna be heavy as hell.

I got a present for you.

[Avori] Oh my gosh.

Yeah, just stick them on the front.

We already have four blocks of ice
that I guarantee are over 100 pounds.

[Avori] Oh my gosh.
This is all uphill, isn't it?

Holy crap.

I have no idea how many more blocks of ice
we're gonna have to take to the top.

But if it continues
to be as heavy as this is,

we're not going to make it.

[William] That's what
I'm talking about, Avori!

[Joi] Kesi, how you doing?

- Is that heavy?
- [panting] It is heavy.

[Alex] Blue team, time to lift.

You're falling behind the pace,

and only the money
that makes it in time will count.

[Joi] You wanna take a break?

- Let's go slowly but surely.
- Okay.

- Let me know when you need a break.
- Okay.

[Joi] It's exhausting.

We're at high altitudes.
The snow is thick.

And we have two more beacons to go.

[Kesi] Can't stop, won't stop.

One step at a time.

[Joi laughs] Way to hustle.

There's our next beacon.

I'm following the tracker.

- [rapid beeping]
- It's up here.

- Oh my God!
- Where?

- [Joi] It's three!
- [Kesi] Holy moly!

Holy shit. Here's the money.

- There's so much.
- [Joi] Holy crap.

Can we take all three?

[Kesi] We have to try.

[Joi] We already have $1,000 in the pulk.
When we add $3,000,

this is going to be very heavy.

Dig, Kesi, dig.

[Kesi] These are heavy.

They're so heavy.

[Joi] That's $3,000.

[Kesi] Four.

[Joi] All right. Go. Hurry up.

Hustle.

[Joi] All I was concerned about was,
let's get as much money as we can.

Get this pulk and our cash
to the finish line.

But, uh, it was really tough.

- Kesi.
- I'm sliding.

We'll have to drop one off.

[Kesi] I wanna get as much as possible.

[Joi] I know, but it won't matter
if we don't get there on time.

I'd rather show up
with something than nothing.

Yeah.

Here, I'm gonna get rid of one.

We can't get greedy.
Come on. I took one out.

You make it up the hill
and I'll carry this one.

Let's just get to the top
and we'll switch.

[Avori] It's really hard.
This is, like, all uphill.

[William] Come on. Push it!

[grunts]

- [William] Come on.
- [Avori] Okay, stop it here.

Just chill here.

At this point,
I am extremely, extremely tired.

I'm going to need
to catch my breath again.

I'm going to need
to relax a little bit before I go.

[Avori] What'd make it easier?
How do we do it? Can we do it?

Take a break.

[Alex] Players.

Can you hear me?

If you don't move fast,
you're not going to make it.

All the cash that makes it to the endpoint

will only count if you make it there
before time runs out.

It is the final push.

- [Avori] We gotta go.
- [William] Just stop and take a second.

[Avori] Honestly, this is gonna
just get harder and harder.

- I feel like we should leave a block.
- [William] No.

[Avori] He's not listening to me,
and I found that very suspicious.

It'd be the perfect opportunity for us
to not move forward

or bring any money home.

Will.

Can we figure this out?
I'm freaking freezing.

[Joi] I see a beacon, Kes.

You got this, girly.

Let's go. [grunts]

[Kesi] Okay.

[Joi] You take a break, okay?

- [Kesi] You wanna try?
- [Joi] Yeah.

Okay.

On our way to the third beacon,
Joi suggests we swap over at the pulk.

It is the perfect opportunity
for me to be suspicious.

[Joi] We gotta keep moving. I'm freezing.

[Kesi] Well, just one second.

Okay. Let's go.

[Kesi] Missions go wrong all the time.

But they can go wrong
for multiple reasons.

Either they go wrong
because the Mole is at work...

[Joi] It's not that heavy. We can do this.

...or they go wrong because

someone intentionally wants
to draw suspicion on themselves.

You can do this. Keep it up.
Come on, girl.

That type of move is bold.

Especially at this point in the game.

I'll push.

Joi didn't even notice.

You're almost there. Keep it up, girl.

It was really strange.

I just didn't understand it.

Oh...

Are we almost there?

[Alex] Well done, players.
You've made it to beacon three.

The finish line is only
a few hundred yards from here.

The good news is
the final stash is worth $6,000,

and it's the easiest to find.

The bad news?

It weighs more than
all the others combined.

I'm sure you'll make room in the sled.

Hey.

Grab that one out. Carry it.

Shit, we lost it.

- [Kesi] What?
- [Joi] Oh, no!

[Kesi] Did it fall out?

[Joi] Kesi!

I wanted to break down in tears.

[Kesi] Joi, we don't have much time.

- [Joi] Where did it fall?
- [Kesi] I see it!

Come with me.

[Joi] I will never understand why

she didn't keep an eye on the pulk.

- [Joi] You're supposed to watch it.
- Just unclip.

I'll just carry it and we can run.

[Joi] Kesi is adamant about
going back for the money.

[Kesi] Let's go.

[Joi] I see $6,000 in front of us.

I say, "No, ma'am."

It's right there.

We need to be on time.

The finish line is right here.

What is happening?

[Alex] Guys, put on your hustle.

There is 15 minutes left on the clock.

[tense music playing]

- [Kesi] You don't know how heavy that is.
- [Joi] I can do it.

Hey.

Kesi, you need tough love.

Hurry up.

- [William] It's right there, Avori.
- [Avori] I know.

You push for 15 seconds.

Fifteen.

- And I'll get us there.
- Okay.

[William] I know our time
is running very short.

Now, at least I feel like
we have a shot at doing it.

[William and Avori] Ready?

[William] One, two, three!

- One, two, three.
- [Avori] I can't!

It is not physical at this point.
It's mental.

- [Avori] Let's go, Will!
- [William pants]

[Avori] Yes, Will!

And then I find this massive block
of $6,000 in ice.

It's twice the size of the 3,000.

So it is a fat block of ice.

[Avori] Can we do it?

That's it. That's the finish. We got this.

- [William] That's the finish?
- The finish.

[William] I need the shovel.

- Shovel.
- [Avori] Shovel.

[Kesi] We got this.

Keep it up!

I'll push.

- [Joi] Don't push. I got it.
- [Kesi] You got it.

[Joi] Grab your backpack.

Kesi! Are you kidding me?!

I was hoping that Joi would see.

- [Kesi grunts]
- You got it. I'll push it.

Thank you. Let's go.

[Kesi] Because if she saw,
then tomorrow at elimination,

I'm sure everyone would know.

[Joi] Make sure it doesn't roll out.

[Kesi] Then, just perhaps,
one person will stop and think,

"Maybe Kesi is the Mole."

And it's one less person
to compete with on the quiz.

[William] I can get it.
Here. I can carry it.

[Avori] Go for it. We gotta go.

[William] I've always tried to put myself
in the hardest missions.

And to me, this is hands down
the absolute hardest.

Push, Avori! Come on!

- [William] Come on.
- [Kesi pants]

Holy moly.

[Joi] What I've learned from this mission

is to always, always
Kesi-proof the mission.

[Joi] I can't believe you, girl.

You are a mess.

She's trying to play mind games.

And my gut is telling me
she's not the Mole.

We made it. That's all that matters.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Avori] Let's go, Will!

[William] If I am lucky enough to stand
on that podium with the money...

[Joi] Good job, Will.

[William] I got it.

...I can look every single person
in the eye and say

I did every single thing I could to win.

[Joi] Will, you're a beast.

[grunts] Will.

Wow.

Teams, your time is up.

Congratulations, you made it.

Are you okay?

Okay.

[Alex] Take a rest, get warm,
and I'll see you back at the hotel.

How much did you get?

We got, what, six, Kes?

Six.

Not surprising.

- [William] I love you guys.
- [Joi sighs]

I'm tired of getting all the money.

It sucks.

I can't feel my hands.

[evocative music playing]

[Alex] After an exhausting day
on the freezing slopes,

but an impressive $16,000
banked for the pot,

it was an early night for the players
at a nearby ski lodge.

[Avori] Good job, Will.

- Thank you.
- [Kesi] See you, guys.

[Alex] In the morning, there is
one more surprise waiting for them.

[gentle music playing]

Ah, it's beautiful.

[Joi] My goodness.

- Look at the view.
- [Kesi] Wow.

[Joi] Whoa. [laughs]

- [Kesi] What?
- What is that? [laughs]

This was not here last night.
I'll say that.

- [Joi] Avori. Will.
- [Kesi] You guys.

- [Joi] Come check this out.
- What?

[Avori] There are four briefcases.

And all I can think of is that

it's another mission.

- [Kesi] They're definitely locked.
- [Avori] They're locked. Uh-oh.

I love what you've done
with the place, guys.

We were having a conversation.

Is it breaking and entering
if you broke in and left money?

[Alex] And I see you guys have clocked
the gifts I left for you last night.

We had fun talking about those.

They are four briefcases, each filled
with differing amounts of cash.

8,000, 3,000, 1,000, and 0 dollars.

All of that money
is yours for the prize pot.

Almost.

There it is.

You must assign one player
to each briefcase.

That briefcase of cash will only be banked

if the player survives
tonight's elimination.

That means whoever is sent packing
will take that briefcase out of the game.

That money is gone.

[Avori]
This is a freaking twisted mission.

I mean, you're basically asking us
to say who we think the Mole is

and who we think is going home.

You're going to need to collectively
make a decision

about who gets each briefcase

before we meet tonight at dinner.

If you guys cannot make a decision,

none of the money
will be added to the pot.

That's fantastic.

I will leave you to it. Good luck.

[Joi exhales]

[laughing]

Well, that happened. Let's find out
what you really think about each other.

[laughing continues]

[Kesi] Oh!

Basically, she wants to know
who we think is going home.

I mean, the smartest thing to do
would be to put the $8,000

in the name of the person
you think the Mole is,

because obviously they're not going home.

Let's just go around a circle and you say
who you think should take the 8,000.

I think Joi for the eight.

Hmm.

After just playing this game with you,

I think you're not going anywhere.
[scoffs]

[Kesi] I think Joi.

If they wanna believe I'm the Mole,
great, because I know I'm not.

And maybe they flush themselves out,
out of the game.

Will.

Uh, I think I did enough work yesterday.
I'm gonna bow out of this one.

[William] There's a lot you can learn
from the others just by paying attention.

And that's really
what this opportunity best describes.

I'm happy to take
one of the smaller cases,

because, in my head,
if I get eliminated with a smaller case,

it still counts as me adding
more money to the pot.

I've been phenomenal at that.

[William] I don't want them to know
who I suspect is the Mole,

in case I end up nudging them
in the right direction.

So now I just get to sit back
and watch this play out.

Whatever you guys feel is best
is where my head's at.

So I definitely don't mind.

[Joi] It's a cop-out. He doesn't want
to be involved in this mission

because he wants clean hands.

Clean hands for the Mole.

I see right through you.

- Okay.
- So Joi for the eight.

Joi for the eight.

[Avori] Joi is taking the 8,000,

which I think is great because
she's really suspicious to me.

Um, I'll take the zero.

I want to have the zero dollars
on my name for strategic purposes.

[Avori] If I have the zero dollars
in my pocket,

that means the Mole doesn't,
and that's a win in my book.

But that's not what I'll tell the group.

I'm mentally exhausted from this game,
and I don't know what will happen tonight.

And I want the money
to be in your guys' cases.

[Kesi] Absolutely, I think it's suspicious
she wants the briefcase with zero dollars.

'Cause having a zero briefcase as the Mole
guarantees that money will be lost.

But it's too obvious. She's not the Mole.

William, do you want to put your input in?

No, I think it's perfect.

I'll take $3,000.

You'll take 1,000. Joi takes the eight.

Okay. I'll take the 1,000.

I think it's a good decision.
I'm down to take the zero.

I feel mentally tapped.

[Avori] Having to lie is one thing.

But...

having to embrace emotions
that you don't actually have...

I think we're all close
to the same wavelength.

Yeah.

...and selling it to other people,

so exhausting. So exhausting. [laughs]

[thunder rumbling]

[Alex] With the weather closing in,

the players have had plenty of time
to think on their decision

as they join me for a final dinner
before tonight's elimination.

- Hi, guys.
- [William] Hi, Alex.

[Alex] It's a dark and stormy night.

- You should see the lightning.
- [Avori] This is romantic lighting.

[Kesi] Yeah, it is.

God of Thunder, I literally summoned it.

Yes, Thor.

Guys, this is my top four,
soon to become the final three

of this entire game.

Big night.

I am very excited to hear

who's taking which briefcases

to the finale or out of the game.

So where did you guys land?

I think what we discussed
earlier is perfect.

[William] Joi was holding the 8,000.

You were comfortable
with the zero or 1,000.

- And then--
- I had the 1,000.

So, I will back everybody's decision.

[Alex] Okay.

And you all are in agreement with this?

What I'd change is
I'd like to switch with you.

I'd like the zero and give you the 1,000.

[William] Oh my God.

[Avori] Didn't we come
to a decision already?

Why can't we stick with what we decided on

and have a nice dinner?

You do not think you're going home?

I never said I thought I was going home.

No one here thinks they're going home.

It just makes no sense.

It doesn't have to make sense to you.

[Avori] I get it. That's fine.

Whatever you want, Kesi.

[Kesi] If people suspect me
to be the Mole,

it is so advantageous
and I would love to leverage that.

Taking the zero grand
can get people thinking.

Interesting.

Remember, if you don't make a decision,
the money goes away.

So I think we're decided.

Up until this point,
Kesi hasn't been very confrontational.

Now she's demanding to take the zero,

which is exactly what the Mole would do.

Do you have consensus?

- Go ahead, Kesi. Tell Alex.
- [Kesi] We do.

I will take the zero.

- You're gonna take the zero?
- I will.

[Alex] Avori takes the 1,000.

Will takes the 3,000.

And Joi takes the $8,000.

Okay.

We will find out at tonight's elimination

which briefcases are staying in the game
and which one is going home.

How much money goes into the pot
and how much money disappears.

[William] Kesi is very, very smart
and very, very manipulative.

You gotta ask yourself,
is blatantly obvious one of those things

where it's not blatantly obvious?

[Joi] I'm gonna be honest, Alex.

I will be selecting Kesi
as the Mole tonight.

[Alex] Okay.

Is it because of what happened
on the mountain?

It's because of what happened
on the mountain

and our previous mission,
the pigeon pizza mission.

Anybody else want to comment on that?

No.

How are you gonna you top that?

[Avori] When someone outwardly announces

that someone else is the Mole
in front of everyone,

that's strategy.

I feel like that is deflection
and it's a way to throw everyone off.

That's why I don't trust Joi.

Okay.

Tonight you all will face the elimination,

which will determine
the final three players

to move into the finale
where a winner will be crowned

and the Mole will be revealed.

That time has come.

Let the quiz begin.

Good luck.

[Avori] My strategy for taking the quiz
has been go for who you think it is,

but leave a few buffer questions.

But at this point in the game,
maybe I need to go all in.

Joi has lied more than anyone
in this entire game.

And I think she very well
could be the Mole.

But there have definitely been
some missions where

Will's actions have been questionable.

[Avori] We gotta go.

[William] Just stop and take a second.

[Avori] I only have what I have
in front of me, and...

I'm going with my gut.

[William] I can't ignore Avori.

She's super suspect in general.

- What?
- What are we doing?

My shoe came off.

[William] You eventually have to
ask yourself, could it be this obvious?

You know, it's a bit of a chance still,
but I believe the Mole is Kesi.

She always is around failure.

But as long as there is
another player in the game,

you can't be confident.

[Kesi] I think Joi is the Mole.

Joi has taken so much money
out of the pot.

Kesi. We're gonna have to drop one off.

I'd rather show up
with something than nothing.

[Kesi] But what if I'm wrong?

What if I'm so keen on a scent
that is just not the correct one?

So, I feel like it's easier,
but the Mole is still uncertain.

[Joi] I'm not sure if Kesi is sabotaging

or if Kesi is just bad at the missions.

But what I'm really focused on is Will.

Will's strategy is the Mole giveth
and the Mole taketh away.

If he feels as if the team is onto him,
he'll put money in the pot.

He's savvy.

He's at the top of my list.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Avori] It's the last elimination
before the final.

So, I'm nervous for what lies ahead.

There's a one-in-three chance
that I'm going home tonight.

Hi, guys.

- Hi.
- Hello.

It is that time again.

You've done it before,
but this time is different.

The stakes are much higher.

Four of you left.

In a matter of days,
someone is gonna take home

what we presume to be
a very large amount of money.

And someone is gonna be revealed

to be the saboteur
who's worked in the darkness

for these last few weeks.

And remember.

Whoever is eliminated,

the money in the briefcase
that was assigned to you

will not be added to the pot.

Are we ready for this?

You know the drill.

I will enter your names
in no particular order.

First up tonight...

is Will.

[Joi] I could literally hear my heart
pounding out of my chest.

If my observations,
my intuition, is correct,

I hope Will doesn't go anywhere tonight.

Of course. He's the Mole.
It's supposed to go green.

[Alex] Avori.

You're next.

[Alex] How are you doing?

I'm good.

- You okay?
- Yeah.

[Avori] There is no frustration.
There is no sadness, really.

I'm just really proud of myself
and hoping that I made

my friends and family proud.

- You're a gamer, right?
- Yeah.

This is what you do for a living.
You're really good at it.

What was this experience like for you?

This is the coolest experience
I've ever had in my life.

I've never had to,
like, become a character,

and I did things to definitely
throw suspicion on myself.

Even in the end when you were tired
of the deceit, you mustered deceit.

You gotta play the game.

What I will say, Avori gave it her all.

She was a beast.

She taught me patience, that's for sure.

[sighs]

Enjoy home.

- Will do.
- Travel safe, Avori.

- Bye.
- Bye.

Did you think you'd be in the top three?

The three? I don't know, man.
This is crazy.

[sighs] Guys.

Pop a bottle.

You are the final three.

Congratulations.

In addition to that,

you chose very well with your briefcases.

You have added another
$11,000 to your prize pot,

bringing it to a mammoth...

$96,500.

Top three.

Damn, that feels good.

I feel like
we're all really, really close.

[Kesi] We're racing to the finish line.

And there's only one way
to finish, and that's one more quiz.

[Alex] This is your time to enjoy.

- Oh my gosh.
- [Alex] You know?

[Joi] I'm here to show them

Joi is unstoppable. I'm unbreakable.

And I will have the last laugh in the end.

Congratulations.

I will see you soon.

- Thank you.
- [Joi] Thank you, Alex.

Thank you.

[William] Here we are, the final three.

Let's break it down.

[laughing]

[William] Kesi, she has a natural ability

to be around failing missions gracefully.

And you still find yourself wanting
to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Joi is either a very strong player
or a great Mole,

because she does really well on missions

and continuously costs the team money.

And myself, kind of a dark horse
in this race, huh?

But I seem to keep sticking around.

[closing theme music playing]
