The Ghost and Molly McGee (2021–…): Season 2, Episode 16 - Smile Valley Farm/The Grand Gesture - full transcript
When Scratch discovers he loves a game he stubbornly refused to try, he must try to hide his growing obsession; June and Darryl accidentally transform Scratch's ectoplasm into a living being.
[ethereal theme playing]
Chanelle, I know
you're a big-city lawyer,
and I'm just
a humble country doctor
genetically crossed
with a pumpkin,
but I've got something big
to say,
and I need to say it
in the grandest possible way.
[Chanelle] Oh, Gourdon...
- [crying]
- ...I do not object!
[sobs softly]
Ah, that was the best
Country Pumpkin movie yet.
The trailer said
this movie would give
us "pumpkin" to talk about,
- and they did not oversell!
- I know, right?
That was the exact embodiment
of what love should be.
[sighs] Just like you and Ollie.
Is it? You know,
the nature of your relationship
- has never been entirely clear.
- Well, okay.
So we haven't technically
defined the relationship yet.
But that changes tonight!
At our bi-weekly
banana split get-together
at Sam's Diner.
Sam has agreed to reserve
the middle northwest booth,
situated at a 45-degree angle
under the moon,
which, because
of the time of year
and its current subtle gibbous
will highlight
Ollie's swoopy bangs
and my great smile, ding,
for a perfect moment
for me to ask Ollie
- if he officially wants to be
boyfriend and girlfriend!
- [Libby] Wait, that's it?
No offense, but this
is about solidifying, Molly.
It should be a grand gesture.
But I don't have the time,
or, frankly,
the agricultural skills
to grow a whole field of corn
into a specific message!
But you do have a best friend
who dabbles in the art
of romantic overtures.
I certainly do, thank you,
Libby, and that's why I'm here.
I'm gonna have Libby
be my assistant.
- We'll help you out with this.
- Aw, you guys!
Ooh, this is gonna be the best!
Scratch! Trade you some
ectoplasm for this sandwich?
Sold American.
Not even gonna ask questions.
[chewing loudly]
What? I can't concoct a romantic
scheme on an empty stomach!
- June! Got that ectoplasm.
